First Blog, Origins of Writing, and Introduction to the Fandom · 3:04am Mar 7th, 2013
So, I've decided to start making blog posts on this site because...it sounded interesting and I thought I'd give it a try. I'm an open-minded person and I enjoy explaining my opinions as well as hearing the beliefs and opinions of others, even if I don't agree with them. Blog posts will probably help me indulge in this and I urge anyone to comment on my posts if they have something to say about agreeing or disagreeing with something I say. I'm all ears.
I've had a love of writing stories for several years now. It's my dream to become an author and I already have several original stories and series in mind. However, in the meantime, I've become involved in the world of fanfiction (obviously). I began writing fanfics last summer and made an account on fanfiction.net. Anyone interested in checking out my fanfiction.net account can find the link to it on my profile page. I'm thankful to have gotten into writing fanfics as this has allowed me to expand my writing skills, get my creative juices flowing, and have crossovers that appear in my head come to life in a sense. My writing skills, I think, have improved greatly since I began writing fanfics and I plan to continue writing fanfics well into the future, even once I start on my original stories.
I became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the summer of 2011, almost immediately after the end of the first season. I came across somebody on Youtube referencing to it in one of his videos and I grew curious. I looked the series up and clicked on a random episode. The first episode of the series that I watched was, strangely enough, the last episode of season 1 "The Best Night Ever". I enjoyed the episode and wanted to see more. So, after seeing a couple of the episodes out of order, I went back to the beginning and watched the entire first season in order. By the time the second season had begun, I was a Brony. I have a lot to owe to the Brony community. If it weren't for my experiences with the community then I never would have gotten into fanfics nor would I have been driven to check out Doctor Who, which is now one of my top ten favorite shows, due to the fan creation of Doctor Whooves. I am happy to say that I am a Whovian Brony (which is probably obvious due to the fact that a majority of my stories are Doctor Whooves-based). So far, I think the MLP: FiM series is fantastic overall and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for the series.
Anyway, that's all I have to say for my first blog post. I have many more topics (whether they be MLP-related or otherwise) to discuss but I'll save them for later. Till then, everybody and everypony out there have a nice day!
Wait, you became a Whovian after watchin MLP: FIM? Interesting. I've been watching Doctor Who for years, but I still haven't seen a bunch of episodes. I should catch up with those, especially with them on Netflix and everything. Look forward to future blogs.
Cool. I've always kind of liked Doctor Who, but was never a true fan.
