600 Followers and I'm still alive!

Every time I reach a new milestone in followers I like to make a blog post acknowledging how much you all mean to me. Thank you for pushing the button and looking at some of my pony words.

But, as you've seen, I haven't written nearly as much. There are reasons for this. Some good. Some bad.

    In-Derp-endence Day!

I am sitting on a lounge chair on the balcony of my Long Island home, a cold drink on the table at my side. In a few hours, if the weather holds, I will lean back and watch fireworks.

I have just typed the last word of Lyra's Human 2: Derpy's Human

500 Followers and a controversial ending

I usually make a blog post every time the first digit on my followers number changes, and this will be no exception. I was able to push it over the limit by getting My Girlfriend is a Siren into the feature box one more time. I hope to produce more stories that people like and that I like writing.

I actually publish something? What sorcery is this?!

I've been woefully lax in putting out new stories. Yes, I get my one chapter a week out, but I used to be able to do that while writing other stuff as well. I have a novel I'm working on, but that's been slow and I don't want to put it out until it's been gone over with severely. Next year, probably.

Let's Be True, True Friends. . . · 1:20am Feb 28th, 2013

. . . and help friends in need.

Do I flatter myself that what I do here is actually worth something? Let's find out.

There's an auction site where people are putting up their writing services to try to help out the bronies who suffered needless financial hardship because of Las Pegasus Unicon. Here is my entry. If you read Derpy's Human, you want to check this out. If you read Bronygeddon, you want to check this out. If you want a story tailored to your wishes, you want to check this out. If you yourself write and want someone to look at your work, you want to check this out.

There's no minimum. $5 would be better than $0. People are scared, hurt, and betrayed. Whether you're doing it for the prize or for good feelings, think about giving, OK?

Why would a convention cause finacial hardship?

This only reaffirms my wish to have a job right now. I'm sorry to admit that I can't offer anything. God bless, though.

The short version is that the con ran out of money, the hotel and convention center kicked them out before they could hold a charity auction, and the hotel charged all the con-goers full price instead of con price. They couldn't pay the guests either. At this point, we don't know if there was chicanery or if it was just a bucked-up situation, but there are innocent people who owe a lot of money and need help, and until that happens, the sordid details can wait.

Hah! If none of these fools outbid me, Bronygeddon shall have a chapter on Dark Demon King Ravenblood Nightblade!

The convention website says, as I read it, that the hotel kept adding last-minute fees, then the hotel double-charged them for rooms and the voice actors stole money from them. (What the hell were agents doing in the cashbox? Why did they have keys?)

Payment for this will be by paypal. But how do we know who's on the other end of that paypal account, and that the money will end up getting to the right people?

I put up an offer to do a story critique. I'm not nearly as generous as pjabrony.

872250 They are saying that, but more sources are saying that it was the people running the con who didn't pay anyone, and they haven't released their financial information to clear the air. And if you're doubtful on the issue, you shouldn't be pressured to donate to something you think is not on the up-and-up. There's a long-@$$ video from Everfree Network that gives some info, and there are some postings on DerpyHoovesNews.com that will take less time to read, and they're showing the post you linked to as well to give both sides. Get the info and make your own decision.

The front page is here: http://www.bronies.com/lpu/ for you guys who want to find the donate cash button fast because don't want anything in return.

Or if you forgot how to use browsers... like I did... 'cause I am an idiot sometimes.

872294 Why do you think it's on the up-and-up? I'm not especially skeptical, but... it would be pretty easy for whoever ripped everyone off to do a benefit auction and rip them off again.

872435 Sure, but why would EFN and EQD and so many other groups conspire to put this much work in to get money? There are easier ways to get money out of bronies.
