The oddest thing to be learned from the season 3 finale is:
without Pinkie around, the whole of Ponyville would go to Tartarus.
It's now canon the place would be miserable without her.
You have to wonder what the town was like before Pinkie arrived to throw parties for everything.
Now there's an idea to write down; Ponyville before Pinkie.

Well I'm sure it didn't help with Rarity's weather.
I feel like that was a large contribution to their anger. 
Treilacl is right. Everyone was pissed of at the crazy weather.
It's also important to keep in mind that people adapt. It makes sense ponyville is a happier place with pinkie around, but it does not follow that it was crap before. The way I see it, people got used to her making them smile and be happy, and with her gone, its easier to let your temper get the best of you. But if she was gone for a long time, they would eventually adapt by finding other ways to vent their frustrations.
846475 What he said. I think it had to do with a lot of stuff. Pinkie not being the happy-fairy, Rarity cocking up the weather, Rainbow Dash's critters running amok, and Fluttershy absolutely failing to be entertaining in any way :D
