Well, I just submitted my first story and so far it seems to be going smoothly. It's quite exciting making that leap from consumer to contributor, and I'm excited to see how far things go!
I had a lot of fun writing this first chapter, and was very pleasantly surprised by how well it was received by Tundara. I'm glad I only got one or two things wrong, considering I didn't do as much research as I thought I should have.
I also could use a cover image until I can produce one I don't hate. I considered commissioning somepony, but I just spent a lot of money on a new laptop and would rather avoid that if I can! If anypony has any suggestions on a good cover art image in the meantime I wouldn't be opposed to suggestions! I can't help but feel submitting it without an image was like shooting myself in the proverbial hoof.
Cover Art is a big factor in getting readers, no doubt. I'll poke around and see if I can find anything. If I do I'll pass the links on to you.
