Well, stuff that I've done since last blog: the next chapter of Fear has been submitted for pre-reading (by the friendly neighbourhood Starfall); it used to have a Fluttershy section, but I took it away from her because, like the mare herself, it wasn't very plot relevant. Instead, pretty much the whole chapter became the Spike and Pinkie power hour, with Luna as a temporary guest star (who gets more screentime and stuff next chapter) and Rarity being...Rarity. Also, the Ocarina Of Time travel montage. Still fairly plotty, and the narration isn't as wacky as I generally keep it when dealing with Rainbow Dash, but enjoyable.

After that, I took a break from writing for a few days, since a) I needed to get something done irl and b) fim was/still is having issues. However, I've now begun work on the next chapter of Music. I was going to have it be fairly plot heavy, but meh. Music isn't that kind of story. So instead, two of the Mane Six have cameos, I do the usual character building thing and then plot happens after that. Also, a brick joke lands. (Canny people will have already deduced what it is just from that).

I haven't really got much else to say, but it's been a while since I posted anything and, well, long unexplained hiatuses are kind of a thing with me. So, yes. Progress! Mostly I've been thinking about what I'll do AFTER Music; potential candidates include a) in-depth Twilestia, b) long epic adventure story, c) whatever crummy oneshots I can cook up, d) ??? and e) you get the point. I'm most excited by the prospect of the adventure story; I already have a prospective title down for it and a skeleton plot, and since I tend to do shorter stuff, I'm tentatively looking forwards to trying my hand at such a challenge.

(Still haven't watched any of season three, so I have no idea what any of this 'Twilight with wings' business is. If it's canon and I don't like it when I eventually see it, I fully intend to ignore it and just say my stories all take place between S2 and S3. Actually, I don't even care. I write fanfiction. If there are stories out there where Fluttershy is a vampire hunting, ninja star throwing DDR machine or rubbish like that, I don't see why I should have to give two hoots about canon. I take writing good stories seriously, but not THAT seriously.)

Of course, me being me, it'll probably be adventuresome stuff with tons of character moments thrown in for no reason. It will also probably be one of the first stories where I at least consider breaking my own rule of 'Nobody dies'. So far, the draft calls for some background ponies to join the ensemble, which will also be cool. I had a ton of fun using Vinyl and Octavia, so hopefully that'll carry on to the rest of the background cast. (Also, gonna be an opportunity to do some personal worldbuilding and stuff). So, yeah, I too am looking forwards to the adventure thing.

Also, nobody's really missing out on the Fluttershy section. It was basically, 'Fluttershy walks into a party. Oh noes, there are many people at the party! Fluttershy is now all skittish. Change scene to Rarity, who's doing something far more interesting.' Except with more words and stuff.
