Hey, guys. I know I don't use the blog that often, but there I'm trying to pay more attention to my followers and other readers, and I've already made a post about this on Facebook.
I'm starting to fall behind in some of my school and extracurricular stuff, partially because I've been spending so much sheer time writing on fimfiction. So, I may be taking a hiatus for just a few days while I try to get caught up on the OTHER important stuff in my life.
... ... ... I'd rather be writing.
While we're at it, I may as well make another announcement that may have some significance. I've finally established a semi-normal rate for story updates.
In reality, all of my stories are working up to a finale story that will be involving Pennington, Twilight, Whipstitch, Eclipse, Discord, Celestia, and even a few other characters that have yet to be introduced. Because of this, some stories are much closer to being prepared for this finale than others. This is going to be mandating which stories I update more often. (I know you're all shocked, but there is a method to my madness!)
The story that truly needs the most work right now is "Happy Adventuring, Twilight!" This will be receiving updates the most often.
I know what you're all thinking. "But Penny, that story's, like, twice as long as the rest of your stories!" "But Penny, we're so tired of hearing the same old story! We want Eclipse back!" "But Penny, you're dead in that story! How much more can there be?"
To all of you, I have one answer... DON'T CALL ME PENNY!!!!!!!!!!
But seriously, Happy Adventuring is going to be the most updated because, chronologically, it's the farthest behind. As you'll see in the next chapter, it takes place long before the events in "Brothers" even begin. Not to mention, I have to write out an entirely new story arc for it that will be published separately as "Carnival Cat Vs. Pennington Inkwell."
Yes, I'm writing a fic about the Carnival Cat. Get over it. The musician who posted the original song and story about her has given me permission to write a fic about her. For those of you who don't know who she is, I'll post a link to the song, "Carnival Cat vs Ponyville" later.
Long story short (TOO LATE!) Happy Adventuring will be having the most updates.
The second-place story for updates will be Whipstitch. First of all, my illustrator is both inspiring and ravenous for more story about her ponysona, so I'm trying to make sure she doesn't consume my immortal soul because I'm not updating often... And it's the second-furthest behind in terms of chronology, and I'm planning on having Whipstitch in my finale story, so I need to fully develop her character.
And finally, Daughter of Chaos is going to be receiving the fewest updates. Once again, though, there is a madness to my method!
DISCORD IS FREE. IT IS CANON.
I have been devising a storyline to account for this, and it's going to be hard to pull off, but even so, Daughter of Chaos is the closest to completion, so it needs the fewest updates.
... ... ... Okay, that's a complete and utter lie. But it IS the furthest ahead chronologically. If I were to finish this story before either of the others, it would leave a gigantic gap in time and most likely a few spoilers for my other stories. It is also the story that the finale will have the greatest impact on, since the finale will also be the final chapter of Eclipse's Trilogy, so I would prefer a smooth transition from working on one to the other.
So, now that I've wasted about an hour that I could have been spending on school work writing this blog post, I think I can leave you well-educated and in peace.
Oh! And an important detail! Fluttersky15 has started writing a DiscordxCelestia story that features Eclipse as a side character! (Alternate universe to mine, of course.) I'll post a link once it's publishing is approved! It's called "Tattoo of the Sun."
So, anyway, now it's time to go bomb an English test because I should have been reading "A Tale of Two Cities" instead of writing this, promptly followed by about a gazillion other overdue projects.
Until then,
Happy Adventuring!
Well, I wish you luck! And I await the finale anxiously!
