    One Year

It's hard to believe it's been a year since my dad died. Sometimes it feels like a decade ago, sometimes it feels like it was just last week.

Hey there, fellow adventurers!

I just wanted to give you all a quick update so that you don't think I've abandoned you here, because I absolutely have not!

So, first of all: I have moved. After my... unfortunate and sudden high-impact greeting with an 18-wheeler... I had to move back in with my mother and got a job substitute teaching... which didn't make much more than I needed to cover the most bare essentials. Then my mother sold the house. So now I've moved in with a group of my old high school buddies, who are all extremely kind and have made sure I'm safe and sound.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), that means I've had to change jobs, as well... and now I've moved to working in a meat packing factory. It's not a bad job, but VERY physically demanding, and that's on top of the fact that it took me about three weeks to get over my anxiety of working in that setting, which has just about every anxiety-inducing thing I can think of: bad smells, loud noises, lots of potential biohazards, narrow hallways, large crowds, narrow time windows and fast-paced work I can't keep up with at my current experience level.

Another unfortunate side effect is that, until I'm adjusted, every day I return home with my hands in a LOT of pain. The particular job I have is finer work, which means I have to be simultaneously very dexterous AND strong with my fingers.

Which is a very long way of saying

TL,DR; I got a new job and it hurts to type right now, and probably will for at least a few more weeks.

But hey, the pay is great! A little longer and I'll finally be able to get ahead of my bills! Once I feel a bit better, believe that I'll be returning to writing with GREAT ENTHUSIASM!!!

Until then, please know that, as always, you're on my mind, fellow adventurers! Multiverse in a Nutshell will return as soon as possible! And maybe Sapphire Scales? I don't know how many different ways I can say "Thank you for being patient with me," so I'll just say it again: thank you all for being so patient with me. I can't wait to get back to writing for you guys, honestly.

For now, though... I'm gonna nurse my hands and try not to think about the fact that it'll probably feel worse tomorrow. Stay safe, and happy adventuring!

Sincerely,
Pennington Inkwell

Just hang in there man, first month or so of any variation of warehouse work is gonna suck.

But then you shall be stronk and one day you'll realize that you've hit the weekend and you still feel pretty dang good.

Hang in there, we're all rooting for you!!

And in case you need to know (you probably do already), soaking your hands in warm/hot water (especially with epsom salts) can be really soothing and good for joint pain!

You got this, man! I believe in you!

Oh God!

I being taking a break from fanfic, when I finally decided to check on you I see that all these harsh things have happened to you pen :(

Is good to know that you are doing better, at least you are doing better as of 21 days ago I feel like such an ass for not seeing this before. I’m gonna see if I can put apart a few bucks to donate to you later this month.

I really hope things improve for you, not only because you are one of my favourite, still active, fic writers (since the pandemic that number has concernedly gone down). But because you have gone through so much BS, seriously mate, you need a break!

Whatever the case, I hope things improve for you, specially that you can get a better job (if not at least get used to the current one).

Pls take care, and well, is 7 days late but, Happy 4th if July

(Seriously, pls take care)
