I don't get what the big deal is. There's no indication it's permanent and the writer's aren't dumbasses; they know what they're doing. And come on, do you honestly think this will stop people from writing normal-unicorn Twilight fanfiction? For goodness' sake people, get a hold of yourselves.

I understand the apprehension, but I'm holding out that it will work in the long run. The characters have grown pretty substantially over the last three seasons, this throws in a wrench that could make things interesting. Not to mention the fact that Twilight has been the subtle balance between Luna and Celestia the entire run of the series, anyway. Heck, she's even had a crown the whole time!
