No they're not
Those are literally the categories the show itself falls into
What if the life in question is an adventure and I want to have a slice of that
Which do I pick
Explain this bullshit
Just write and work everything else out later.

Just pick adventure I guess? If you're talking about the new TTHS, then I'd say it's an adventure in the first place.
You're right though. 'Tis rather bullshit.
magic.
One of Wanderer's Peeves if I recall, from one of his guides.
I must admit that I don't understand it either, but that's his choice in the end.
Basically they decided they don't want the tags to reflect content, they want them to reflect genre, and so have as few as necessary. Even though the terminology is not conducive to genre, which is my complaint.
If a characters normal day is an adventure, then you should pick adventure.
765013 The thing is, Adventure makes it sound more exciting than it is, and Slice of Life makes it sound more sedate than it is.
I need a Slice-O-Venture tag.

The show overall, despite the several adventures, would be Slice of Life because that is the main theme. So I'd say go with that. Or if you feel it defies the common tags, use none. Veil of Thoughts did that to great acclaim.
For instance, For TTHS I would say put Alternate Universe and Human and that's it. It needs little else. That pretty much says "This is like the show but with differences and a human."
765021 I think I've got it where I want it. Thanks for the input.

Any time.

I find it absolutely hilarious that despite our near-constant Steam Chats, your blog posts fly under my radar evr tiem.
Wanderer says (I'm paraphrasing from memory here) that Adventure is like, an epic quest, with a grand journey or large stakes, while SoL is like, hanging out at home, having a good time with friends or examining a relationship. A monster attack during the climax doesn't make an SoL story an Adventure, and a full chapter of character development doesn't make an Adventure story an SoL.
