The story of my life. (More specifically how I became a Brony and began writing) · 1:17pm Jan 16th, 2013

I figure this is way overdue, and with nearly reaching 600 story views I figured I could celebrate that as well. So I shall begin with telling you a little bit about myself.

I am 17 years old as of now (1/16/13). My day of birth was on February 13th of 1995. I'm from Virginia Beach, Virginia of the United States. I became a Brony on April 14th, 2012 after watching a youtube video of Rainbow Dash with the song 'You're Gonna Go Far Kid by The Offspring'. In all honesty I probably replayed the video dozens if not hundreds of times. Now I had heard of 'Bronies' at the time and my opinion of them was biased at best. I believe the exact words I spoke of them were "a bunch of weirdo pony F******". After seeing that video I began a conversation with myself on a number of things.

Why did I watch this? Why did it give me chills? Why did I like it?

After deciding to actually give the show a chance, I went to the search bar and typed My little pony episode one. Now I didn't realize the Friendship Is Magic portion of the title so I accidentally found the original MLP... From the 80's if I'm not mistaken. I was shocked to say the least especially after seeing how they were drawn compared to what I had seen in the previous video.

Horrifying... I kid, but I was seriously confused on why they looked so different. Eventually I googled My Little Pony, wherein the suggestion for Friendship is Magic displayed. So with one click I was opened to the fandom... The more... shall we say... stereotypical part in specific. The one thing that made me say the words that come out of my mouth the most...

It was a Rule 34 site dedicated to MLP:FIM, (at that time I was an internet newcomer so I hadn't found the rules of the internet) oblivious I closed firefox and turned off my computer. I fell asleep rather quickly.

Now a few days had past, it being Saturday, and I was flipping channels it was 9:57 am. And to my fortune a commercial of the show had just played, allowing me to see what all the talk, and porn, was about. I was surprised at how well the show was keeping my attention, I chuckled a bit and found myself watching a little girls show. Over the next few months I watched the series as it came on, and browsed the many sites that were 'clean' (for the most part) until I found Fimfiction.

I browsed the site reading the many stories that were offered, but the one that caught my eye the most was Within and Without by none other than Cloudy Skies. I spent the next three days sleep deprived over reading all of Cloudy's stories, even the Clop addition from Kits. I enjoyed Cloudy's stories so much that I sent Cloudy an e-mail. To which I got a response. Time has erased it due to inbox over flows and a terrible memory. But that reply gave me the push I needed to start my own scribblings. Thus I began to draft out a number of stories, many of which I still have not published.

The first thing I wrote was the opening chapter to The Dark Ones, next was my personal shame... Breaking The Fourth Wall. I'm not going into anymore detail with that one. Then I found Man of War by Tallestbrony, I started a story called Lethal Misconceptions and I submitted it's main character as an OC for his story. As he was telling me the rules I asked him if it would be possible to crossover his story with mine or have mine as a sort of side story to his. He agreed after announcing a few stipulations, but seeing as my story was already intent on following them in the first place they were easy to agree to. Sadly, Lethal Misconceptions only had 3 views per chapter aside from the first chapter. Thus I put it on Hiatus where it currently resides. Currently I am working on three things: The Dark Ones, A Second Chance: Fading Memories, and ETLAL. I'm keeping a tight wrap on the last as I am going to publish it once it has been completed.
