“I’m afraid Mr. Abendroth isn’t quite the kind man he was before the werewolves got his son,” the young male said. “And seeing so many settlements fall so quickly has disturbed him greatly.”
“I see,” Twilight said, suddenly feeling remorse for the man. She then look to the young male. “Thank you for standing up for me.”
“I’m afraid my motives are entirely selfish, but you're welcome,” James replied. “Tell me again, though, where do you come from?”
“Equestria,” Twilight said absently, before realizing the depth of the situation that she was in. “But Equestria is safe for now, and this place is not. I need to know more if I’m able to help effectively.”
“Know more about what?” James asked.
“Where am I, what are you, what are werewolves, who is Avacyn, what sort of spells were protecting you… everything James. I need to know everything.”
The latest from my first draft, for those who are interested. I'm just trying to get the words out and avoid writer's block at this point, since I'm taking my usual chapter's length and doubling it.
