All Paths Lead Home on EqD! · 12:59pm Mar 6th, 2012
Hey everyone!
After over a month of writing and intense editing (not to mention the planning that went in beforehand) the first chapter of my latest fic has now been published! On Equestria Daily! :D Which might just make me the happiest yet most terrified writer in all the land!
It's a post-apocalyptic adventure inspired by Cormac McCarthy's 'The Road'.
To anyone who is a fan of my shipping, I apologise straight up. This fic will be nothing like that! (As I am sure you can already tell!) However, this is a story that I am much more comfortable with. I feel it reflects me as a writer a whole lot more. So, in other words, I hope that anyone who reads it enjoys!
You can find it here: All Paths Lead Home
It will be on fimfiction eventually, but I have formatted it very deliberately (Also, the font is specifically chosen as well). As a result, I want people to be able to experience a good deal of it first over there before I post it here. But fear not! For yes, it will be coming here eventually!
Thank you so much for anyone who takes the time to read it or show it any kind of support. It really means a lot!
Looks truly amazing Mystic, I can't wait to read it.
18840 I'm glad you think so! I really hope you like it!
I just read your story. Congratulations on making it to EqD!
I really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for McCarthy, so this was a natural. You've got a great sense of diction and rhythm. The setting is extremely similar to The Road, making it almost seem like a re-telling, but your style stands on its own. I'm looking forward to reading more from you!
22002 Thanks! I am glad you liked it! I have to say, the style issue was something that I fought long and hard with. In the end, I hope that I have reached a comfortable equilibrium in maintaining the feeling of the original while keeping the story and the characters mine. This should be revealed better in upcoming chapters, I hope! Again, I am really excited for this story, so I am glad to hear that people are enjoying it!
Also, I am very excited to read the new chapter of 'The Price of Grace' tonight when I get home from uni! Expect a comment sometime tonight! :D
