I'm in the process of setting up a discord server. It's named the same as this blog post and it's intended as a home on the web to talk in real time about fanfiction or other written works. And that includes both reading and writing.
The purpose of the community is to offer a chill space as well as to platform actual discussions about certain fics. It's still in the idea phase but I was thinking of running an *actual* bookclub there at sporadic times. This to offer a place to actually engage in discussion about a work. There's a lot of fics on this site that I really like, many of which are long past their completion date, let alone initial release. And sure, you have the crazy people like me that dig around for the gold; but for many others they might only ever see what hits the font page of FiMfic.

Due to the fact that I don't want to sit with the liability of moderating a community with underage people I'll at this point sadly have to turn away anyone who isn't 18 years old or older. Sorry, I wish it wasn't a huge liability.
