Some Art of a More Pleasant Sort

Because I am obsessive about those sorts of details, I had to know if the captain's gig could plausibly fit on Nebula's main deck with her gasbag fully inflated. I wrote a scene where that happens, and a little voice at the back of my head kept nagging at me to make sure I wasn't describing something that couldn't be done. Turns out after a morning of modeling and measuring, the gig can fit—just

    Update to the Glossary

As expected, sharp-eyed readers have spotted several errors and typos in the glossary for The Cadenza Prophecies and I have gone about fixing them. Nothing noteworthy there, but I also made a major overhaul to one of the illustrations that only served to explain one term. Now it is much more useful:

The Glossary and Illustrations Chapter is Live!

I decided to append the glossary to the end of the story. Turns out it's longer than any of the chapters. :twilightoops:

It will remain the last chapter even as new chapters come out. As I recall, that created some issues with quoting comments or something like that in The Skyla Pseudonym, so be aware of that if you want to comment on the glossary itself.

    Enjoy!

More to follow, unless or until it goes pear-shaped.

Took me a hot moment to realise what this was referring to. Good thing I was on Desktop and not mobile – no dynamic number for each profile tab up there on the latter! :twilightsheepish:

Anyway, I'm certainly intrigued (and a little excited :raritystarry:), but will totally understand if you find reason to rescind this decision.

Had an interesting convo with a friend who pointed out that removing my stuff only hurt people who liked it, and that I should take the Scalzi Bluesky philosophy of moderating internet interaction to heart.* Besides, I'm going to release the new story here as well as on AO3, and it would be kind of dumb to have only Book One and Book Five of the series available.

* Block early and often.

Sorry, but I've been told not to fraternise with Pears.
:ajsmug:

Now then, then now, now then, then, then, then now. Now then, what's all the fuss about?

Oh. Oh.

I shall hope for pre-"Perfect Pear" Granny's opinion of pear-shaped things, then!

I'd actually missed that it was a prelude to… that being on the horizon. Even more excited now! :raritystarry:

And I say that in spite of the fact that you re-listing these fics has added five of them I'd previously bookshelved in Re-Evaluate back onto it automatically*, raising that shelf's volume in word count by almost 300K. :ajbemused: A reader's work never ends, it seems…

* Which has resulted in the hilarious juxtaposition of said bookshelf's preview and stated story count being the old number, while only the number of the stories under the current filters (or none) is accurate. Likely it will update correctly when next I add or take a story out of it, but it was a funny programming quirk that caught my eye.

I am really glad to see all your stories unhidden. I have the physical books, but being able to flag these to read on occasion while I am doing other work on the PC is really appreciated.

:rainbowlaugh: Hah! Now you know how I feel when you point out really good stories I haven't put on my To-Be-Read list yet!

:pinkiecrazy: Revenge, yes!

Excitement! :D

(I cannot wait to have time off work to re-read everything!)

I see what's happened here. Good stuff.

Though part of me is wondering if you'll also do the same with "The Quest" and "Apple Cider Caramels," since I have them in print.

Holy Celestia's cake inflated sun bathed plot! YOUR'E BACK! SWEET ! Yes I have hard copies of your work but it's so wonderful to see them back here. Hope to see more soon. Though you may argue you never left, this is the way your page ( or account) should look! You've made an old Plug very happy!

On the way!

Believe me, I'm happy that you're happy. There will be more soon!

It is really quite good to see you back. I was one of those who felt that attempting to hide away such entrancing stories only diminished the community as a whole, so I'm absolutely delighted to see you return. And, of course, to see what comes in the future.

Welcome back! It's wonderful to see your return!

Time to settle in:

And re-read The Skyla Pseudonym, then...

Mike

:pinkiehappy: You'll be all prepped for the prequel, then!

The Cadance one?

The mad completeist in me will be very glad to read that! And the rest of me, too, I suppose... :scootangel:

Mike

Hello, random person who liked your stories here

This was the case for me. At some point, I was re-reading a bunch of old favourites, and noticed later stories of yours gone. Very happy to see them back. Thank you!

Now to delay re-reading it for 3 more years for no reason.
