    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

RIP Akira Toriyama · 4:09am March 8th

Without a doubt one of the most influential creators in not only animation but modern culture. Everyone around the world has been touched by his work in one way or another. Love it or hate it, the man made a mark in the world and a lot of our hearts.

He will be missed and remembered.

I do not have the emotional fortitude for one more thing I love to be suddenly whisked away from me this week.

Another legend gone. Too bad, he still hasn’t properly finished his Dragon Ball series yet.

RIP Toriyama. Another fantastic creator, well celebrated, gone.

He leaves behind an amazing legacy of work and influence that would be difficult to rival (only by a handful like Stan Lee) and would not likely be matched in comics for some time.

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

Dang. Another great manga creator gone after Kazuki Takahashi, and possibly the most famous and influential after Ozamu Tekusa himself. 68 really does feel too young.

I have read no Dragon Ball proper, and outside of one movie, seen almost nothing of it animated in context (my biggest exposure to his work is his contributions to Dragon Quest, plus the Japanese box art for the original Mega Man series). But his style is so distinctive and iconic (and varied, from the cutsey gag manga style to the more rough fighting-ready look), his influence easy to see, and the joy his work brought millions clear as day. As I understand it, he had more Dragon Ball projects in the work too. Mad respect. May he rest in peace.

No wishing this one back, sadly. He will be deeply missed, but his influence on the medium will be felt for generations yet to come.

It's not the age, it's the mileage. And Toriyama certainly did a lot with the time he had. :fluttercry:

68 really does feel too young.

It is indeed a decent amount below the average life expectancy, which is in turn lower than someone who makes it to old age can expect to live (as it's a lot more common to be far below the average than far above it, and that drags the average down).

There is no question in my mind that he will be missed.
He changed so many lives with his work.
Rest in peace.

it's crazy to think that he's just suddenly gone D:

His work is among these that are a source of inspiration for entire genres. While Dragon Ball is the most popular, Dragon Quest's influence on console RPG, especially JRPGs is absurd.

He will be missed.

Don't forget Chrono Trigger!

Chrono Trigger was the first real game that I played as a child in which I considered story telling to be very important. I still love the hell out of that game. Sad day. :pinkiesick:

To be honest, the Dragon Quest franchise is where I've picked up most of my Toriyama influence. DBZ was fun, but DQ is where I've seen the most of his character design.

Really hope the next Dragon Quest game has some kind of memorial for him in it.

I like to think Toriyama is sitting on King Yemma's desk with a halo over his head, still watching over Earth.

Gone, but not lost to us.
