New Eros chapter will launch on Thursday night · 9:24pm Dec 19th, 2023
Consider it an early Christmas present, though I’m not going to get the next chapter after this done in time for Xmas. But that’s okay—you’ll get nearly 19,000 words in this one. Or I can break it in two to give more bite-sized pieces of clop, releasing them a few days apart. Guess we’ll see how I feel when the time comes.
In the meantime, I’ve started on the first post-Eros scene chapter of C&C, which will pick up the morning after. That will be the first chapter of a new story arc leading to more combat and clop, though when the latter happens, it will keep within scope and pacing of the main story (which I had to be reminded that this Eros arc would not have been). 4000 words are already down on it, which leaves me guessing that maybe what I needed was a break from clop. Though this will have at least a couple suggestive scenes.
The purpose of this new chapter is twofold: first, to summarize the Eros arc for those who don’t read it, including the resolution to the Gilda/Cipio conflict and what was learned about the Changelings/certain characters. And second, to lay the groundwork for the new story phase while there’s a gap in the action, picking up some old plot threads like that text Starlight Glimmer sent to Chris along the way. It’ll also be time for a funeral service, and I’ll be incorporating some text and dialog from chapter ten of the old story for the first time in a while.
But that release lies in the future, and I’ll try to have a teaser available eventually. So for now, I hope you enjoy both the holiday season and the Eros release to come—pun intended, of course.
