August 2023: State of the Bandy · 5:17pm Aug 4th, 2023

Dream rise from the sea,
Waves cascade into the sky,
Catch light like crystals.

We have transcended the digital! I've been regrettably slow with fanfic output these past few months, but that time has illuminated a new interest in typesetting and book production! The result is this: a humanized, lightly-altered version of my fanfic HAZE.

Medicine.
Miracle.
Poison.

High above the snowline of the Stonewood mountains, acolyte Hypha and his order of monks spend their days gathering a rare mushroom called Mother Sky. The fabled fruit of the mountain offers more than just a profound psychedelic experience—it bestows super strength, future sight, and even the ability to fly. But the monks aren't the only ones interested in Mother Sky's power. A bloodthirsty republic gathers strength in the west, rallying around the exploits of a ruthless general and a scheming senator. With the Stonewood mountains in their sights, the two tribes spiral towards conflict.
Hypha's desire to learn the secrets of mother sky's magic leads to a confrontation that nearly costs him his life. Facing down an army bent on ransacking his culture, can Hypha keep the secrets of mother sky's power from the hands of those who would use it for evil?

Paperback and ebook copies are available for purchase today! Your support means the world to me. I'm hungry to write more and stoked to see what the back half of 2023 brings for me and this community.

Holy shit, congrats! Hope it sells like mad. n_n

I recently got the book, and just finished reading it as I’m writing this. Despite the story being the same as the original fic, I feel like reading this version was an entirely different experience. Normally I speed through whatever I’m reading as fast as I can, but I took the time to slow down and enjoy and process the book. It was well worth it. The one thing bad about the book I will say is that there are quite a few places with left over horse words. Humans rearing up on hind legs, people constantly galloping instead of running. Hypha is also described a few times as having only three legs, when it should be having only one. Nothing that affects the overall story though, just little details like that. I am sorely tempted to lend this book to my friend with out telling them it’s origin. Anyway, good book, I greatly enjoyed it.

5775169 Thank you for checking it out! No manuscript survives the de-ponification process unscathed, but after getting your comment I gave the manuscript another pass and found some (hopefully all!) of the things you pointed out
