Slow start on Midnight Rising... · 8:00pm Jul 31st, 2023
For two reasons. First, work is picking up again, and it may stay that way through August as we have an important September deadline for my team to hit. Second, I found I needed an extended break from writing after the last two Eros chapters for all the effort I put into them. Needed to mentally rest and emotionally recharge from it before starting something new.
Nevertheless, the new Midnight Rising chapter is underway and currently sitting at just over 3000 words. I was actually tempted to resume Continuation and Chronicles, given there’s a planed scene upcoming involving both M-rated action coupled with an exploration of Changeling philosophy and attitudes towards intimacy that I’m looking forward to writing, but I’ve put off Unleash the Magic for long enough. Its release schedule remains in flux but after starting it this past weekend, I’m trying to put a minimum of 1000 words on it per day, which should bring it close to draft complete by the weekend.
Be advised that the narrative structure will change a bit for this next chapter, but hopefully in a good way as Sunset’s friends discover her writing and start offering their own commentary as they find themselves recovering their memories as they rediscover their new equipment. We’ll see if I can sell it and hopefully not overdo it.
Anyway, sorry for the brief blog and not to be further along on Midnight Rising, but we’re underway and we’ll get there. And hopefully, like Eros, it’ll turn out well in the end.

I really mean it when I say the story wouldn't be the same without you. The sex scene really slaps now and considering it's under 10k words, that's saying something.
