As we recently passed the 200k word mark, I've reflected on the story and the path it's taken. As time has gone on, we slowly started slipping out of the domain of Slice of Life, and as of having written the finale of the Manehattan arc last night, I can safely say that SoL is no longer an appropriate tag. As such, it has been removed. Similarly, I've noted that I use more characters constructed for the story rather than the other members of the Mane 6. For that reason, Mane 6 has been swapped out for the OC tag. It also doesn't help much that the Anon of this story is so fundamentally different from the typical shitpost character that they are practically an OC of their own at this point. We've also not seen much of Spike, so I wonder if it's worth keeping that tag.
I've also been on something of a writing kick. Monday, before posting Entry 37, I had all of Entry 38 finished, and at the time of posting, I had maybe 3k of Entry 39. By the time I went to bed early yesterday morning, it was 7k. Yesterday evening, it officially finished at 10k. It's fitting, as Entry 39 marks the finale of this arc, and finales are always intended to be big things, and by jove what 38 kicks off completely explodes in 39. That said, there will be no omake between the end of Manehattan and the continuation of the MLP - The Movie arc. The tone isn't right for some lighthearted fluff just yet. I'm content to keep writing while I've got steam, and building up a cushion upon which I can rest if I need to.
Things to look forward to after the MLP - The Movie arc conclusion:
- Anon finally getting to traumatise a poor therapist in the Crystal Empire.
BugmomChrysalis reunion chaos.- Anon enjoying time with Emerald and Starlight.
- Guess who finally decided to show up?
- So much more!
What potential arcs are all of you who read this blogs looking forward to? Anon gaining freaky new powers? Anon finding out what it's like to be a birbhorse in proximity to highly reflective surfaces (like windows or Twilight's Castle)? Some peaceful friendship school days? Perhaps Anon causes an international incident with the reformed changelings? Anon gets into a fight with a tree who won't stop stalking her? Degenerates like Cozy Glow ending up on a cross?
I like all of those ideas down there, except I dunno how I feel about that Cozy Glow option, never saw her episodes in the show and the fanfictions I read for her have been too short, never finished or just briefly mentioned her.
As for the main part of this post, that's acceptable reasoning for the changes in tags I suppose, you can only have so many after all and since you have more story, you have to change it to match the content.
I would argue for the slice of life tag since it still feels like it has some strong SoL feeling to previous chapters.
It just has a strong sense of "edgy" Anon going through some rough patch mentally. Considering he's/she's still an adolescent near or is at puberty, well, edginess is understandable.
Unless Anon starts venturing off to meet new stuff and directly face off a villainous force, which might start warrenting an adventure tag, the trajectory of the story still looks like a mix of both adventure and SoL.
This is in spite of the brutal injuries done in EqG, the murder of a bunch of soldiers, and the Harmony plot.

I'm most interested in how you will conclude the current issues with Anon and Emerald. Will they merge? Separate? Put one to rest and the other takes over? And I'm assuming the entire situation will be impossible for a therapist to cope with.
And as a fan of Chrysalis I am just happy she's included at all. I don't think Cozy Glow is an irredeemable shit. She's still a child. I hope if you do include her she isn't one dimensional as the show did her dirty.
