Feathered Hearts C&C chapter 40 will launch tonight

I apologize for the long delay. The chapter draft was submitted to prereaders a month ago and well-received, but the graphics have taken me a while and several false starts. The main reason is I tried multiple methods to include unit icons in the maps of Aresia, but the end result always seems more cluttered than anything else. Here's an example:

    Without unit icons:

New Midnight Rising chapter off to prereaders...

At long last. This is the redo of the chapter I was forced to scrap in April and then about 80% rewrite. I saved a few select bits and pieces from the original version, but the rest went by the wayside.

Still pecking away on Midnight Rising and Feathered Hearts...

The two Lemon Zest chapters of Midnight Rising have now reached 26,600 words and they’re still nowhere near done, with probably another 5-6k words to go. Gotta treat the girl right, after all, and also make sure there’s plenty of sexy side dishes around her. And as for Feathered Hearts?

    Still working on Midnight Rising...

At the rate of about 800-1000 words a day. That’s my key to getting stuff done that’s causing you issues; just be sure you put at least a little time in on it this day to have some forward momentum. The two chapters are now up to 24,100 words. I’ll work on it more this weekend, at least around continuing work around the maps and battle graphics I’m making for Feathered Hearts.

Did two things this past weekend...

First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears that it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though.

One C&C preread remaining; Eros on deck · 9:54pm May 24th, 2023

We’re almost there for C&C chapter 36, but don’t get too excited just yet, folks. Even if the last preread is in tonight, I won’t release because I still have to a) give it two more editing passes, b) create the T-rated version of the upcoming chapter, and then c) edit that. So my target release remains Friday evening, and I’ll have to allow a chance that it may slip to Saturday morning since I also have to get ready for my upcoming road trip this weekend.

The good news is that the chapter seems to have gone over well with my prereading crew thus far, with appreciation and discussion for the M-rated parts. I still finding myself fleshing parts out or adding additional adult detail, which seems to speak for the fact my clop batteries have recharged.

In fact, I started into a new Eros chapter today, putting down its first 1000 words and will be working on it going forward into my vacation. May not get that much work done on it while I’m out there, but it’ll be in the back of my mind at least. For that story, more mixture of clop and a viewing of the movie Midway is ahead.

The reason I chose that story over working on Midnight Rising right away is that I read a recent article that said there is now only one survivor of the USS Arizona from Pearl Harbor still alive. When he dies, a vital link to the past will be severed. And though I don’t think my story really honors that, I do find myself thinking about that long-ago time of trial, and by extension, my story. In any event, the first 1000 words came surprisingly readily, so hopefully that bodes well for getting this done relatively quickly.

Expect the C&C release on Friday night unless otherwise stated in a new blog.

Great news, looking forward reading it.

That guy probably is disappointed in us all
He fight a war for freedom and prosperity of his nations people, only to see everything he fight for to get lost to lobbyists and corrupt politicians...

More Eros? Today is going to be good! Looking forward to the new chapter!
