So I was talking to my sister about the story and the subject settled on my treatment of the characters. Naturally Cadance came up and I realized that I treated her really poorly. Not in the sense of development or motivation or anything, but in the sense that she gets battered pretty badly.
She gets her aunt's life thrust upon her out of nowhere, then her daughter goes away to confront the one who hurt her aunt causing her intense worry, then she has that nightmare about Shining and Flurry's death.(foreshadowing? Eh I'm not that good a writer) Then she almost gets Violet killed (though she is the one who heals her) then she gets... Er, violated by the darkness, then she is the instrument that enables her daughter's death and has to watch her die in her arms.
Yeah, I was a bit rough with Cadance. I might have to rectify that with a fic of her own. She really is one of my favorite characters.
She is the one who basically kept everyone alive up to this point... Celestia and Twilight at least.
We got Kismet here and it's the big bad. Visually I was going for a HelluvaBoss looking character. Kind of like Blitzo mixed with a canine (I'll eventually get my artist to draw them, if he'd get off his lazy butt and get to work.)
There was actually a lot of hints dropped that fate was the big bad. I tried to foreshadow a lot of it in the previous chapters.
That blast by Met would've killed Luna. 100 percent she would've died, so good on Twilight making the save.
We're swiftly approaching the end now, not too much left to go, though there is still a big plot point coming up.
