Forced Hiatus (UPDATED) · 4:33am Mar 6th, 2023

Hey, everyone. I had an unexpected development last night and I wanted to keep you all in the loop.

Basically, my laptop had an error while I was online and it restarted, but when it came back on, it was stuck in a loop. I took it to Best Buy this morning and it's going to take a few days for them to diagnose it. Hopefully, they can figure out what went wrong and fix it or at least salvage my in progress documents in case I have to start looking for a new laptop.

I want to keep writing, but until I know if it can be saved, I don't know how much good that will do, especially if I lose everything. Most of my stuff is backed up, but not everything, particularly the next chapters of Metal Gear Spark and SB:EG that I've been working on. That's going to be hard to get back, so, uh... hope for the best, I guess?

So I got my laptop back this evening, so here's another update. The hard drive was corrupted, so... well, nothing could be salvaged, so I lost everything I had that wasn't backed up, so I lost the previously mentioned in-progress chapters. They were able to put Windows 11 on it and found that it still worked, though. They returned it last Sunday, but they recommended that I put a new drive in it if I want to avoid problems further down the line, so I had to schedule an appointment to drop it off. That was Tuesday and I got it back today. Maybe I paid too much, but I don't know how long it'll take to find a new one at a good price, so I figured I should be ready in case it takes a while. I've already started rewriting one of the chapters and I'm going to keep them saved on my flash drive until I can find a new laptop and get Word again. I think that's about it.
