Happy Hearth's Warming, everypony!

Here in Michigan, we got a white Christmas [assuming that the snow doesn't all melt in the next few hours]. That made my commute to the group homes fun . . . and I get to do it again tomorrow.

Of course, lots of other people here in the US suffered one kind of travel delay or another; highways closed, airplanes not flying, and maybe the trains aren't working, either. I haven't been checking Amtrak's site.

And there are some of us—myself included—who are working. There are a lot of necessary jobs, some of them not so obvious, and y'all know how much I love working ponies and working people.

If you are travelling, spare a moment's thought for the employees of the airport or the gas station attendants or the train crews or the snowplow operators, or any of the other jobs you might not be thinking of who have to come to work on the holiday. I'll admit, I've got it easy; every holiday I've worked at the group homes thus far has been super chill, because some of the guys go home for the holiday and the ones that stay behind tend to be well-behaved and focused on things like Christmas presents and Christmas dinner and so on.

. . . Which I realize might be setting me up for a bad day tomorrow (or today, depending on when you read this). . . .

All of us have holiday traditions of one sort or another, and for a lot of us I have to imagine that there's relief that the pandemic is more-or-less over and we can celebrate as we always have. However that might be, whether it's a big family gathering and present exchange, or a Zoom call, or just another day of work but maybe wearing a festive Santa hat. Sledding or building snow forts and snowmen, or just relaxing and taking it easy.

There's the FimFic tradition of putting Santa hats on our avatars which I think was started by The Descendant, and there's Jinglemas, which has already started. Best I can tell that was a tradition started back in 2015 by Obselescence. Y'all can look forward to a slew of fics from that contest over the next few days.

Whatever you do, however you celebrate—or don't—take it easy if you can, and I'll catch y'all on the flipside

Also, in case anyone was wondering:

It's frozen over.

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. That's an actual fact.

Happy Hearth's Warming, Biscuit! Stay safe and enjoy the holiday.

I'll be working tomorrow, myself. But its the Spirit of the day that matters the most.

Safe travels!

Happy Hearth's Warming!

Happy Hearth's Warming! I get to feel lucky this year as it's clear skies and 70F tomorrow here in Las Vegas, far different than most of the US right now!

My company thankfully got me home for the holiday, which is a rare treat in trucking, so I'll be having a nice time with my family and friends.

I hope, even if you're working for part of it, that you have a fantastic Christmas as well! :-)

Marry Christmas to u 2

Ridiculously Joyous Holidays of all Types to You! :pinkiehappy:

The batpony elf is so adorable. And so's the pony doing the Michigan Two Step on ice.

Thanks for the warm tidings, and Happy Hearth's Warming! In a few minutes, I'm heading out for eight hours of feeding cows, with a side of taking care of newborn calves and towing stuck trucks and tractors.

At least the wind has died down. I've been stuck at my folks' farm the last few days due to the roads in western Michigan trying to drift shut and white outs from blowing snow.

May you all have a lovely holiday. Keep warm! Unless you're a snow pony of course.

Truth.

Truth to that.

But hey merry Christmas my friend

When I was a kid (1950s to 60s) NBC had a 50 year contract to show "The Wizard of Oz" (the one with Judy Garland). They showed it once a year about this time.

It was originally supposed to feature W C Fields & Shirley Temple. Fields was an alcoholic, Shirley's mother refused to let her act with him (& then Fields fell terminally ill).

This decision would prove disastrous. Garland replaced Temple as #1 child actor, Temple never won Best Actress, & the movie lost out on Best Picture. (To be fair, Gone With The Wind would probably have won anyway but MGM was NOT pleased. )

People can never seem to accept that an action movie can also be a Christmas movie. Arguably, John McClane fulfills the role of Krampus, bringing just punishment to those who've misbehaved and Hans Gruber going out a window to paint the pavement in shades of gore is just the capstone of his clearing of the Nakatomi Plaza's naughty list.

Crud Hell froze over, the Minnesota Vikings are going to win the Superbowl in February.

Happy Hearthswarming n_n We beat the storm on Friday but only just made it home in time before it really got going.

Now to curl up with a hot drink and read my new books, my fave kinda gift. n_n

Nope, since that's obviously in Michigan, it means that the Lions are finally due. They're one of the few teams to never have even made it to the Super Bowl, never mind actually win it.

¡Happy Hearths' Warming!

For all of those working today:

Joyful Hearth's Warming to everyone! :ajsmug::yay::raritystarry::twilightsmile::rainbowkiss::pinkiehappy:

Happy Hearth's Warming, everypony!

May the joy of the Christmas season fill you all, and did you know there's a ponycat in that tree?

December 26, 2022. Phoenix Arizona the weather forecast is 76/44. I remember an old George Carlin routine "Why do they always have the weather at the airport? Downtown is a LOT hotter. Downtown is on fire!"

:derpytongue2:

Happy Belated Hearth's Warming!
And thanks for the good work you do and the awareness of the good work others do you spread. :)
