Ponyfeather Publishing Releases and Black Friday Coupon · 1:34am Nov 26th, 2022

First, Lulu's Black Friday/Cyber Monday coupon code is JOYFUL30 and good for 30% off all print purchases through Tuesday, November 29th. That'll work on all eighteen of Ponyfeather Publishing's titles, hardback or paperback, as well as the other 50+ Lulu titles listed on the Friends of PFP page.

Second, if you're a fan of Monochromatic's work, there are two new PFP titles that might interest you, first available at EFNW this year and now available online for direct ordering.

The first is Crimson Lips, a humanized MLP AU novel strongly inspired by Moulin Rouge. As Mono put it in the preface she wrote for the book:

"Crimson Lips is ... a story about looking yourself in the mirror and deciding what values you’re willing to die on a hill for. It is also—and I ask you to allow me this moment of shameless ego—my best story. It’s perhaps not my most important one, but it is without a doubt the best showcase of my craft. Unfortunately, in my experience, the second I explain it’s a story where I explore the stigmas of sex work and classism, a lot of people decide not to read it."

Consider bucking that trend and reading it. (Note that while it is never explicit nor lewd, it does deal in some more adult topics and themes that might not be appropriate for younger readers.)

The second Monochromatic title now available is the story everyone knows her for. "Magnum opus" is probably not out of line when it comes to Mono and The Enchanted Library.

In fact it's popular enough that it's warranted more than one publication. You might be aware that Ministry of Image issued a two-volume hardback edition some time ago, with beautiful cover art by Ramiras and twenty gorgeous full-color interior illustrations (ten per volume) by Mono's friend Maxima. MoI's books are of very high quality, a cut above the trade books you'd find on your local bookstore's shelves.

As a Lulu print, PFP's three-volume edition of TEL is closer to a mass-market book, but this allows for a number of improvements in other areas -- namely, they are available in both paperback and hardback; they are cheaper; and Lulu has a worldwide network of printers, so your order will be printed as close to you as possible, to save on shipping and things like import fees. The PFP edition differentiates itself in other ways as well: it includes a foreword by Cynewulf and an afterword by Mono; each volume has new cover art by Mono's partner, lilfunkman; each volume also contains an Easter egg for longtime fans who remember the ciphers from earlier drafts of TEL; and perhaps most importantly, the interior retains the styling and Arctic Waters' chapter header artwork from the original FIMFic edition:

To be clear, I don't make any money from the sale of PFP prints, and Mono doesn't make any money from the sale of either MoI or PFP prints, so neither of us care which edition you buy (if either) -- I just want to give people as much info as possible so they know which edition they might be happier with.

Again, don't forget to use JOYFUL30 to save 30% on your Lulu print orders through Tuesday. Happy reading!

Thanks for the heads up on Mono's blog! I already bought these four (as well as four other books) two months ago though. I got tired of waiting for a good code, plus what with books sometimes randomly disappearing off Lulu, it wasn't worth waiting another 2+ months as it turned out to save maybe 15 euro.

Right now there's only three "maybe buy" books left on my pony book spreadsheet, but it's unlikely that I'll ever act on those. They're all compilations where I'm only interested in maybe 10-20% of the content, which even with a 30% makes them a tad expensive. And space is also becoming an issue.

There's also other books on that list that aren't released (yet, because I really hope they happen someday) and at this point I'd just rather get those first. I love books though, so I don't mind the random notification about it.
