Pinkie wakes up in an unknown room and needs to finish tests in hopes to soon get back to ponyville
Pinkie Pie awakes in a room she is unfamiliar with. She is known in this dimension as test subject #148932. Her intention is to get out of there and back to Ponyville as fast as she can. Although she doesn't realize, that her journey through the facility may a lot take longer than she expects...
This is based off portal 2's story and does contain SPOILERS to portal 2. Note that you have been warned if you haven't played portal 2 that parts of the story may ruin it for you. If you don't mind then good ^^ ignore that. One more thing I would like to state is that the characters and objects in the story like Glados, Wheatley, turrets, companion cubes, and other characters/objects are owned by Valve.

Waking from a restful sleep, Pinkie Pie had awoken in a room. Sure some crazy things would happen to her and she'd wake up in some random pony's house like she remembered she awoke in Rainbow Dash's room, twice... But no, this...was a different type of room, no room she had ever seen before, and definitely not any from Ponyville.
Pinkie was startled by a knock on the door and nearly fell off the bed. A voice had called beyond the door, "hello?...hellooo?" She neared the door to open it wondering wether it was some monster trying to lure her into a false sense of security, or maybe somepony that just needs something.
She swung the door open in both surprise and confusion to see some strange thing she's never seen before dart into the room suspended by a rail. "Hello Pinkie Pie" the robot sphere said."What's happening? Where am I? Why am I here?" Pinkie questioned.
"Oh a well haha...ya see you sort of don't remember anything at all about what's happening due to your case of brain damage-BUT DON'T WORRY, it's fine, it's fine, we'll do some test and you should be fine.
"Ah, and do me a favor Pinkie, don't get used to your name. umm....because the record of the facility needs to track you by your subject number" the robot continued. "So uh, don't be alarmed if you are called by subject #148932. although if you DO feel alarmed, that's uh perfectly normal due to the fact it's uh, normal to be accustom to your name.
So maybe a quick test before we continue, start with something easy, try saying cupcake, c-u-p-c-a-k-e" Pinkie Pie just stood there looking confused "okay, okay, I guess you're still trying to take this all in. But nevermind that, you'll get it soon. Oh by the way I'm Wheatley, not uh, really sure if you wanted to know or not cause you didn't ask.
Anyways we're going to start making our way to the testing facility, so you might uh want to hang on to something, just a word of advice." wheatley continued. Pinkie felt the ground starting to shake as the room almost felt like it was FLYING through the air.
Wheatley had crashed into several buildings nearly tearing the entire room apart as he tried guiding it through the path to the facility. She was trembling as she hung on to the small dresser in the corner opposite of the wreckage of the room.
Wheatley started "Okay, the testing facility should be right on the other side of this wall, I'm gonna see if I can override it, so uh just hang on to something tight." Pinkie now had a death-grip on the small dresser just hoping that it would keep her from flying across the room.
The room went at what seemed full speed towards the walls with the wall cracking and crumbling as the room hit it full force, Pinkie Pie flung forward a couple feet, then jerked back and slammed her back against the wall. The crash had also sent much debris from the room flying out and wearing down the structure of the room even further.
She had felt the room fly forward again to the wall with another forceful hit. The wall looked like it wouldn't take another hit and she thought to herself. Good! she couldn't handle another time of her back slamming against the wall which was already sore from the last two hits.
The last time flying through the air at the wall was like a wrecking ball and crashed right through it which had knocked down a few windows as a huge hole was left in the wall as it fell apart. "Well here we are, you can continue on, I'll meet you up ahead." Pinkie slowly started to walk through the mix of broken glass and crumbled wall. She looked down to see a small room.
She hadn't seen anywhere else to go, so she convinced herself to lower herself in, still feeling a bit uneasy about doing so. A recorded voice startled pinkie as she was observing the room. The voice announced they were experiencing difficulties from circumstances of apocalyptic-yadda-yadda blah. Pinkie really didn't care about what the voice was saying, She just wanted to get out of wherever she was and back to see her friends in Ponyville.
The voice had then continued with "a portal will open and testing will begin." Pinkie looked around and noticed an orange-ish portal open on the wall. She had mixed feelings about entering something she's never even seen before. But she didn't have any sense staying in the small room she was currently in.
She approached the portal and slowly put one hoof through it and gasped and she saw her fore-leg coming out a blue portal on the other side of the glass walls that surrounded the room. She then crept slowly through the portal and by her own amazement wasn't harmed in anyway. She looked at the blue portal behind her and saw the room through it exactly how it was before she went through the orange portal.
she advanced through the facility path into another room where a very strange cube had dropped from some testing tube she assumed. The voice came on about cube-button based testing and how they were important for science. So Pinkie Pie understood she needed the cube on the button, tried picking up the cube in her mouth, which was essentially the usual way she carried things.
But the cube was too big, so she tried picking it up with her fore-legs and started walking over with her hind-legs, although it posed to be too difficult. She had come to the conclusion that she should just pushed it and roll it over itself with her nose. She didn't have alot of control when she tried it, but it showed to be more efficient.
What use to be a light blue x on the wall turned to yellow-ish check mark as the door opened to next room, which was different from the others, this one had some kind of blue plasma across it. The announcer had said this would vaporize any equipment that comes through unauthorized. Nothing so far has really harmed her except for the ache in her back when they were back at the room.
So she walked through it, after doing so she felt a bit light headed but continued on to an elevator sort of tube she thought. The pod came down to the level she was on. Just as Pinkie walked in, the doors closed behind her. She was a bit panicked as the shaft had flung downward into darkness only to soon reappear in another test it seemed like.
Arg! She didn't have time for this nonsense, she just wanted to go back home. She walked up the stairs into the first room in the new level she was on, she pressed one of the three buttons in front of her which opened up a blue portal behind a glass wall. She looked behind her to notice an orange portal on the wall behind her, she nudged the cube that sat in their out the portal and continued making her way around.
Each test she went through had gotten harder until she had reached a point where she met back up with Wheatley. "Hi there, there should be portal device around here, check over there" Wheatley directed. Pinkie walks over to the podium as the ground collapses AAAAHH! Pinkie yelled as she fell down into the hole filled with what appeared to be sewer water.
"Hello? Are you okay? Do you see a portal device? It should be up ahead" Wheatley droned on. Pinkie had walked through the grimy water beneath her hooves up to a panel of stairs she continued up to a small podium that held what she assumed was the portal gun they were talking about. She picked it up and observed its weird shape and placed it over her fore-leg.
She needed to test it out to see if it worked properly. So she aimed it towards one of the white walls next to her and activated the trigger. The portal gun had a bit of kick she wasn't use to, but she managed. She hopped through the portal and flung out the other one and soared through the air for a few seconds, she was then coming in fast to the ground, she shot again at the floor below here in panic and flew up through the other portal again.
WHEEEE! she squealed only to be momentarily interrupted by hitting the wall across from the portal and falling to the ground. ooooogh! she moaned. She thought to herself she needs to be a little less care-free. Even if that's what makes her Pinkie Pie...the care-free-ness.
She has obtained the portal device...does this mean she can go home? Although as badly as she wanted to. Pinkie Pie didn't realize that her getting the portal gun had been only the beginning...
Pinkie sighed as she picked up the portal gun and headed up a series of panels into the next room. "Hello? Anypony there?" Pinkie called out. No response... She figured she must have to continue on to find Wheatley or someone else to see if there was anyway she could get herself out of here.
She moved on into the room as she studied it to figure out what do. After several minutes she took action and combined the several techniques she had learned previously to work her way through the test. She ventured on to find another room which had needed her to fly through the air several times.
Although she was the pony who always loved jumping and moving around, this wasn't something she liked. She knew it was the freedom...The lack of freedom she had as she made her way through each of the chambers. She neared into the next room. As the door opened, she was relieved it wasn't another testing chamber.
She noticed Wheatley suspended to his railing on the ceiling, she was actually a little excited to meet up with him if it meant her having any chance of getting back to Ponyville. She observed her surroundings before placing a portal on the other side of the wall where Wheatley was hanging.
Pinkie jumped through the portal and looked up at Wheatley and started "Hi! I found the portal device you were talking about, so I was wondering now that I'm done with that, if I could get back to my life in Ponyville." Pinkie said enthusiastically. "Well you see I'm not technically in the proper command to be able to do that. But I suppose I could try helping you escape as long as we don't get noticed by "HER". Actually speaking if we do go unnoticed, getting out of here should be a snap!" exclaimed Wheatley.
After hearing that, Pinkie's ears perked up as she realized she may have a chance of finally getting out of the facility and back to her town of Ponyville. "Okay I need to lay something down here, they told NEVER to disengage myself from my suspension rail. Or I would um, DIE. But we don't have any options here... so prepare to catch me, assuming that I'm not dead the second I pop off this thing. Let's go on three okay?
One...two...three!" Wheatley exclaimed. Pinkie fumbled to catch him with her hooves as he slipped out of her grip and fell to the ground. "Ow...I...am, not dead! Now that that's over, go ahead and plug me into to the stick in the wall over there" Wheatley had said still a bit excited over the fact he's still alive.
Pinkie remembered that she had discovered a switch on the portal gun that allowed her to pick up cubes, she figured it work same with the robot. With hardly any effort the gun had levitated Wheatley as she brought him over to the mechanism that appeared out of the wall. With what sounded like multiple buttons being pressed, a nearby wall had shifted partway open.
"There we are! Just opened up a secret panel! pick me up and let's go on." Wheatley urged. She used the portal gun to pick him up and continued on through the open panel in the wall. She walked along a railed pathway as hearing small clangs of metal each time one of her hooves hit against the grated flooring.
"okay I'm going to have to let you know we'll have to through "HER" chamber in order to escape." Wheatley said. Pinkie Pie came to a halt and looked into Wheatley's eye and asked "Who exactly is "HER"?" Pinkie asked Wheatley began, "HER" is Glados, A nasty piece of work, a total maniac" Wheatley explained as Pinkie and Wheatley neared the room.
"Okay honestly, I'm not comfortable going in there anymore, don't go in there" Wheatley persisted as Pinkie trotted into the room ignoring what he had said. "Okay, okay it's fine, she's turned off as in not functioning" Wheatley continued. "Alright well these stairs seem to be broken so hold on to me, and jump down and we'll land in the water down there." Pinkie jumped down as Wheatley yelled for a short moment until they hit the water below them.
She then walked along another railing of metal grates down to a cylinder shaped room with hundreds of switches in it. "We have now entered the main break room" Wheatley pointed out. "Can you see a switch that says escape pod? no? yea me neither. Tell you what, plug me in, and I'll try turning on the light." As she did so, the door behind her had shut tight closing them in the room although
Wheatley was too busy working on the terminal trying to get the lights to notice it. Ah there we are! A buzzer went off in the break room and the circular floor shifted in a 90 degree turn. "Oh, would you look at that, it's spinning. Wheatley said with a slightly worried voice. "Ominous...but probably nothing, long as it doesn't start moving up. Okay, now look for escape
pod. escape pod esca-" Wheatley was cut off by the floor shaking and reeling upwards. "Okay, don't worry! I'll fix it, this should slow it down... No, no, now it's going faster. Pinkie realized that cause of the floor ascending it had cause every lever in the room to now be activated.
The floor went to the top of the open ceiling back to the chamber they had just been in. She watched as the giant robot known as Glados was put back together. "Oh it's you, how have you been? I've been reeeaally busy being dead, you know...after you MURDERED me!" Glados started "You did WHAT?" Wheatley shockingly exclaimed.
In fact the truth was Pinkie Pie was just as shocked as Wheatley was because she know she would never intentionally kill something. Other than the fact how could she have killed something she's never even seen before in her life. Just then a crane had suspended down and took a grip on Pinkie's head which then lifted her into the air next to Glados.
"Now I think we can put our differences aside...for science, you monster. The crane had then swung Pinkie Pie directly over a dark, seemingly bottomless pit, and dropped her in...
Pinkie Pie had been falling for quite a distance. She heard grates and pipes around her making metallic "whooshes" from the force of her fall. She neared an area in the metal pit she was falling in where it had curved. She hit the side of it and started falling again, this time she could see the ground. There were two slants at the end of the pit, she hit both of them, which at least drastically slowed down how fast she was falling.
After she hit the ground she moaned in pain for a few moments, she then opened one eye to see where she was. To her surprise she was in a well lit room. Overhead came a recently familiar voice "here we are, the incinerator room" stated Glados. She saw a door on the other side of the room, so she slowly trotted across the series of fallen metal, being cautious not to fall in the boiling hot liquid below.
She moved on into the next room which had a clutter of panels and such covering something. "Here let me get that" Glados said in her usual unimpressed tone. The panels and debris started pushing back as she picked up another portal gun, as she picked it up, her other one vanished. "There, you now have a dual portal device" stated Glados.
All Pinkie could think of was how close she was to escaping and then in about one minute, she was falling into a giant metal pit. She didn't know where she had fallen, but she knew it was somewhere deep in the facility. She walked into the next room. Pinkie had noticed a small, black spinning device on a platform.
She edged near it putting her face slightly over it as it spun faster. A laser had then shot out of it, burning Pinkie's nose. She let out a yelp as she fell backwards. She had also noticed one device like the first one, except it was on the ceiling and not spinning. She assumed it would be the receiver of the laser, so she shot a portal on the ceiling above the laser, and another portal on the floor below the receiver.
Afterwards, a platform below her feet started elevating up towards the door. She had then seen another mess of panels and debris. "You're navigating these tests faster than I can build them, feel free to slow down if you'd like" Glados said. Pinkie ignored her and continued on. She'd worked her way through a couple more laser filled tests lucky enough not to get burnt...twice.
And she has also noticed that there is acid water below some of the tests if they have elevated platforms. (as if she needed them any harder) Pinkie had reached the next are where she was briefly informed by Glados "This next test involves aerial face plates, in recent tests they were used to see if test subjects could solve problem if catapulted high into the air. Tests show...they could not. Good luck."
Pinkie had flown through the air and grabbed the cube with the portal gun's levitation trigger. She placed the cube onto the button and moved on to the next area. "Here's an interesting fact, the air you're breathing isn't real, we just "freshen up" carbon dioxide a little, and release it back into the atmosphere, so you're breathing the same air over and again."
Pinkie was on the edge of being done ignoring Glados, it was getting to a point where it was just annoying as Glados trailed off about anything that came to mind. Pinkie advanced through the tests, not knowing how long she would be down here. A couple hours? A few months?...Or even FOREVER? She didn't want to think that, one day waking up in a strange place and was never able to see anyone you knew ever again?
She erased the thought from her head and moved forward to multiple aerial face plates that lie in the next room. She was uneasy about all the acid below the platforms she was on. But she had to finish these tests if it meant by any chance of getting back to the town of Ponyville she hopped onto the aerial plate and flung towards the next one.
She saw two panels ahead at 45 degree angles she tried shooting an orange portal on the second panel and missed twice and she panicked. She was about 40 feet away from the panel hurling towards it at about 20mph. She focused in, (30 feet...) shot a portal. (20 feet...) The portal opened as she swung her arm back to aim at the first panel (10 feet...) She shot the blue portal (5 feet...) Just as she reached it the portal had opened and she sailed on through it back into the air and landed safely on another platform.
If she had shot the portal just one second later, she would've slammed her body into the side of the panel, and fallen into a pit of acid. She had just finished breathing heavily after a life/death situation and headed into the next room nearly tripping over herself. She had worked through a few more test dealing with the aerial plates, along with Glados's constant nagging in her ear.
Pinkie had then moved into the next test that involved a blue plasma coming from a thin device implanted in the wall. "These bridges are made of natural light pumped from the surface, if you held you cheek on it, it would be like the warm sun shining on your face...it would also set your hair on fire, so don't actually do it"
Only the last part of what Glados said had her worry, her tail curled down almost touching the ground and she didn't want it to burst into flames. She tested out this new bridge of light by placing a portal where it ended and then another portal on a wall nearby. She was amazed, she could walk on the light bridge and go through the portal she created.
It took some time figuring out the test due to the fact that new things added to the test just pose them to be harder to complete. The next test had strained her skills even further as she had been jumping over a pit of acid to another light bridge across from her and bringing a cube through from another area. She thought if these were only getting harder, she wouldn't know if she could figure them out in later tests.
Glados's voice came on again. "Good job, In fact you did so good of a job I think I'll put this in your file, in the commendations. Oh there's LOTS of room in here. Did...well...enough" Glados had said in her original overly mellow tone. Pinkie thought it was weird how Glados could make something up so seemingly nice, yet still annoy the hell out of her.
As she walked in the next room she was greeted by a spray of gunfire. She jumped out of the way "Are you still there?" A robotic voice had called out. Pinkie peered around the corner to see what had one eye (like almost every other robot in the facility had) that was red, tripod legs, and a laser sight. To her assumption it was a turret.
She used a portal to get behind it and knocked it over. Upon the turret being on its side, it started flailing bullets in desperation to try taking down its attacker. Pinkie had met a few more ahead and did the same thing which showed to work rather well.
"I just thought I'd let you know that yesterday was your birthday, but don't worry I have a surprise for you." Glados said in her usual tone of voice. Pinkie had forgot about her birthday, it almost made her want to cry that is was her birthday, and no super big party to throw! (and no one to see or talk to either...)
The next test had let Pinkie use the lasers to fizzle turrets until they exploded. Well it DID help relieve some of the stress about the whole birthday thing. Glados's voice then started talking overhead "Did you think that I had forgotten about your surprise?
I didn't...In fact we're heading to it right now. I'm getting choked up just thinking about it"...
Pinkie Pie had then trotted into the next room not knowing what Glados would do. The room was pitch black. Glados's voice from above spoke "Initiating surprise in 3, 2, 1." The light flickered on and lightened up the small chamber. "I made it all up" said Glados. A small amount of confetti fell from above along with a party horn that went off. "surprise" stated Glados again.
Yet being unimpressed by the quite tragic display, Pinkie thought that is WAS at least something. Especially coming from Glados, she supposed Glados found time somewhere between shooting annoying comments at her, to throw some cheap confetti together in a dark room. Pinkie thought chuckling to herself.
In the next chamber, nothing new. Just burned a turret, walked across light bridges, hit a switch, used cubes, reflected laser, and most of all used portals. Oh, same old same old. She had then advanced to another pod elevator and descended once again. In the next test Glados had spoke overhead "I have a surprise for you after this next chamber. Not a tragic, fake surprise like last time. A REAL surprise."
Pinkie was sure that was a lie. Glados wouldn't know a good surprise if it hit her in the face with a brick, Pinkie thought. As she was about halfway through the next test, the lights shut off, although it wasn't pitch black. "Who turned off the lights?" Glados asked as if to get an answer.
A small ray of light shone through into the room as panels receded leaving an opening leading to another large room she couldn't make out from her view. Wheatley was on the other side of the wall yelling at Pinkie. "run! RUN!" She had then run out the door into the huge room galloping as fast as she could.
She didn't know if she wanted to trust Wheatley again, but she found it better than being stuck with Glados. The room consisted of metal grated paths with guard rails on each side. All around below her was basically bottomless other then the metal paths.
"Let me give you a run down of what's happening in the future, we're going to shutdown her neurotoxin, replace the turrets, and then try over riding uh... Well never mind that right now, RUN! Wheatley shouted. Wheatley had guided Pinkie through some areas as parts of the path were crushed by Glados all around.
She had then saw the elevator over on the other side of where she was when she took a corner. She took the first metal path and galloped as fast as she could across it. The part of the path just after had just completely ripped off as it fell down into the abyss. Pinkie did her best trying to stop herself, but she only had about a half second before she neared the edge and fell. Just as she did she swung her fore legs over her right shoulder and clutched on to one of the guard rails to slowly pull herself up.
She jumped upright to her hooves and took the last bridge that led to the door that wasn't broken. She could only hope that Glados didn't take out this bridge before she had crossed. She had fully galloped again and made it just before Glados had taken two walls, and crush everything in the middle of it, including the bridge she was on just about a second ago.
She made it to the elevator as she watched nearly everything behind it collapse. She was safe...for now. The next room she walked into was pitch black again and she could her Wheatley's voice. "Well we're safe now, she can't reach us back here. Okay I do have a plan for the lights but it's bloody dangerous."
He spoke followed by silence for about 5 seconds. Then a small light brightened a part of the room as Wheatley yelled, scaring himself. "oh for...They told me if I turned this flashlight on I would DIE, they tell me that for just about everything! Why would I be given this stuff if they didn't want me using it?" Wheatley had then followed Pinkie Pie, lighting her way as she navigated through the area.
The next area had a series of paths that brought her to a main scanner with the usual turret sitting in there. She also noticed a scanner that was in the testing line which basically either moved the right turrets along the path, or threw away the wrong/defective ones. She had then took the right turret out of the main scanner, throwing it to the ground and crushing it beneath her hoof.
She had then gone back a ways and grabbed one of the defective turrets about to be thrown away. After doing so, she brought the defective turret back to the scanner and placed it in so now only defective turrets would be accepted to pass. Pinkie had then ventured through the door Wheatley just hacked while she was switching the turrets.
"This is the neurotoxin generator" Wheatley stated. Pinkie walked up a series of stairs as Wheatley moved into another room to hack the database to shutdown the neurotoxin system. An unknown voice cam on overhead "Warning, neurotoxin at non lethal levels." A tube opened up in the room Wheatley was in as he shouted. "Come on! Get in! This should lead us straight to her.
Pinkie walked into the room as both her and Wheatley were instantly sucked into the tube. As they were flying through the tube, a segment came up where the tube split and Wheatley had got hit by a cube and had flown through another tube, splitting them apart.
The next room had a set of staircases that led to a platform, a huge abyss and a ceiling leading to a room. She shot a portal at the ceiling on the other side of the room, and one next to her. She walked through the portal which dropped her into a room where Glados was hanging from the ceiling inside a larger room aside from where she was dropped.
Glados had then unexpectedly tried dropping turrets down to kill Pinkie as she was immediately glad that she switched the turret with the defective one earlier. Glados had then tried showering neurotoxic gas at Pinkie as again she was reassured about the neurotoxin system being shut down. The only thing that shot through the tube was Wheatley.
Pinkie had picked up Wheatley and brought him to a control panel so he could start the core transfer. Both the robots went under a series of panels followed by some screams of pain. When the panels had receded, it revealed Glados's head laying on the ground next to her body which now had Wheatley in her place. Wheatley had then controlled an escape pod to come out of a panel in the ground as Pinkie stepped into it.
"You do not know how good this feels, Tiny little Wheatley did THIS!" Wheatley gloated. "You didn't do ANY of it, she did all the work" Glados argued. "What? Well maybe it's about time I do some work then!" Wheatley exclaimed as he dragged Glados into the pit below him.
Then he gave a menacing glare to Pinkie Pie. Wheatley spoke. "Don't think I'm not onto you lady. You know what? You are selfish. I've done nothing except sacrifice to get us to here! What have you sacrificed? NOTHING. Zero. All you've done is BOSS ME AROUND. Well, NOW who's the boss? It's me! Wheatley said turning completely different from his normal attitude.
Pinkie Pie just stood there, not knowing what the hell had gotten into him. A couple minutes later, He had brought Glados back out as a...potato. Glados continued "You are a moron you were designed to be a moron. You used to be the voice inside my head generating a stream of endless, terrible ideas" Glados had said to Wheatley.
"I am NOT a moron! Wheatley shouted as he slammed the arm carrying Glados into the escape pod glass, cracking it. "YES YOU ARE! YOU'RE THE MORON THAT TRIED TO MAKE ME AN IDIOT!" Glados retaliated. "Could a MORON PUNCH, YOU, INTO, THIS PIT? huh? Could a moron do THAT?" Wheatley shouted with anger as he smashed the arm into the glass of the pod several times out of blind rage. Dropping Glados into the pod with Pinkie.
All the damage to the escape pod had made the floor give out as Glados and Pinkie Pie fell into the abyss below...
It seemed like Every time that Pinkie Pie had trusted Wheatley, the same thing would happen. She would be so close to escaping, Wheatley screws it up, then she gets dropped into a deep abyss. The pit she was falling in was like the one she was falling in when she first met Glados, except this one was made of stone, and actually had light in it.
As they reached near the bottom of the pit, a series of boards lie across two pipes. These had broken Pinkie's fall before she actually hit the bottom about another 30 feet down. A bird had then picked up Glados and flew away.
The area she had walked into afterwards was much more vast then any of the other chambers. In fact, it didn't even look like a chamber, The room was huge, and so filled with fog, she couldn't see the walls. She walked up the slanted metal path to her right. At the end of the path she saw a large wall with the words "CONDEMNED TESTING AREA" with the words faded, but still visible. Signs around read "KEEP OUT" and "DO NOT ENTER."
She shot a portal high above the wall to the left, then one to her right on the ground. Upon going through the portal, she had walked onto a scaffolding high in the air. She looked over the edge and found another spot to place a portal before walking back in the other portal behind her. Walking to next area like the last one, she could see the walls but not the ceiling.
A large circular vault about 80 feet high was sealed against the wall. Pinkie had then noticed a button on the left on a metal grate against a wall. She used a portal to get over to it and press it down. Nothing happened... Just a timer counted down with 3 seconds on it. A moment after that she also saw a button on the other side. She figured this was built so there would have to be two people to activate the switches to open the Vault.
She got the idea to put a portal on the wall behind her, and one next to the other switch. She hit the first button, jumped through the portal and hit the other button with a second remaining. With what sounded like a large metallic thud, the vault slowly creaked open and was soon fully open. Behind it contained a small door that she continued to go through.
She walked through another series of metal platforms just above a pool of acid. She saw a metal door partly open, but jammed with metal and wood rods. She noticed a wall inside where she could put a portal. She shot one on the other side of the door and then one on the wall next to her. She walked through it to come out it a small narrow hallway with a metal door behind her, and a sliding door ahead of her. She pulled a lever next to the door and it slid open.
She heard a voice come on overhead which was familiar. It was the voice of the man she heard in the very first testing area before she had the portal gun. All the things he said were on pre-recorded messages though. "Greetings new future-starter, My name is Cave Johnson, I own the place" said Cave Johnson.
She headed to the next room to find a metal path leading to an elevator that led up a large tower. She walked in and hit the button. At the end of the elevator she moved into another room, which had a small control room and a series of tubes along with a door. She went into the control room and pulled down the lever in it. She then proceeded through the next door.
The room was much smaller and looked somewhat like the test chambers in the facility. "This next test involves repulsion gel" said Cave. Pinkie thought, "Oh great! Is this going to be the alternative to Glados?" Pinkie looked down at the small pit below her that had what looked like blue paint, she jumped into it and was surprised when she bounced back into the air after making contact with the blue material.
After venturing through two more tests of the repulsion gel, she moved into the elevator pod in front of her. The elevator then led her to another room where it was so large she couldn't see the walls or ceiling, She shot a portal high into the air where it led to another room where she used a portal to move flowing repulsion gel to an area on the ground that aligned where she would hit if she flew through a portal on a slanted surface.
She followed her thoughts as she placed a portal on the slant and one on the ground below her. She had created enough momentum to fly through the air, hit the blue substance, and just barely make it over a chasm just behind the splotch of blue gel.
Pinkie moved onto another chamber with several large pipes and metal grated paths. She shot a portal up on one of the higher walls and walked through it. On the other side she saw a control panel like the one earlier, She activated the two levers inside the room, one red, one blue. She moved onto the next room, which once again, seemed like the walls had vanished. She shot a portal on a panel across from her, she moved into the room and saw the bird pecking at Glados multiple times.
She waved her hoof around to shoo away the bird. "Thanks. Wait...Do you hear that? That idiot doesn't even know what he's doing up there. This whole place is going to collapse if somebody doesn't disconnect him. So what do you say? You carry me up to him, put me back in my body, and I stop us from blowing up and let you go."
Pinkie didn't like Glados much, but surprisingly, through the tests she notice Glados is truthful...but annoying. Without further ado, Pinkie carried Glados the only way she could. By spearing her on one of the portal gun prongs. She shot a portal to the ceiling, and one below her. Momentarily afterwards, she shot a portal on another slanted surface which propelled her onto another metal grate and led her to another elevator pod as she trotted into it.
The next room had red and blue gel, she walked across the red substance and slid rather fast across it. She then combined it by putting the red gel first, then the blue gel second. It worked well as she gained speed and bounced over the pit below her. Pinkie then walked into to next room that had three giant tubes that read "GEL FLOW" one in blue, one in red, and one in white.
She moved up to a control panel in the corner of the room. She pulled down all three red, blue, and white levers. She watched out the control window as the three different colored gels splattered onto the floor. She knew what the blue and red ones did, but the white gel? She walked across it...didn't move any faster. She tried bouncing on it...didn't bounce any higher.
She tried to think what could be left for the gel to do. She shot a portal to it, and surprised, one opened right where the white gel had been. She placed another portal above her and walked into the next area. Inside the next room, where multiple large tubes followed by slants on various walls.
She shot a portal at one of them and jumped through another one she made, only to fly across the room and land back on the ground, several yards from before. She tried shooting a portal at another slanted panel, this one launched her into yet another control room. She then pressed down the button in it that read "HATCH OVERRIDE."
A huge vault on the ceiling slowly opened as it shined light into the dimly lit room. It had then lowered a metal grated lift down for Pinkie to walk onto as it raised back up. "I've got it, I've figured out how we can take that little robot idiot for good" Glados exclaimed. They reached the top of the lift as Pinkie then trotted up a case of stairs and took a corner into a cylinder shaped room. In the middle was another pod elevator.
She walked in as the glass sliding doors behind her shifted and closed. Then followed by the pod ascending. Pinkie Pie could only wonder where she was going...
The elevator pod reached the top of the shaft. Pinkie Pie walked out and headed up the stairs in front of her. The top of the stairs led her along metal grated paths like before. She heard Wheatley's voice overhead talking to an invention he tried making; turrets inside a cube. Although Wheatley was to focused with the turrets to notice Pinkie.
"We've been here twelve hours! You've got an hour to solve it! I'll be back." Wheatley said to the turrets. The path had only led inside the test chamber the turret cubes were in. Pinkie figured she might be able to get past him. The door to continue was sealed, so she took one of the turret cubes and placed it on the button connecting to the door. "Hey! It's so good to see you guys again! This works out perfect considering I'm running short on test subjects!" Wheatley exclaimed with a menacing tone.
Wheatley opened the door blocking the entrance to the next room. Pinkie walked in the next area built by Wheatley. To be honest, the room was quite pitiful. She hit a button and a cube dropped onto the button, opening up the door next to her. One of the easiest tests she ever did. She walked down a flight of stairs into the next elevator pod. "Oh, you're done already? Okay um... there's got to be some more tests around here somewhere. Ah, here we are!" Wheatley exclaimed.
"Well it shouldn't be hard staying alive long enough to find him, he knows about test building as much as he knows about logical contradictions" stated Glados. "It's okay, I built some more tests" said Wheatley as they reached the top of the elevator. "This is one of MY tests!" exclaimed Glados. She moved through the tests that were rather more difficult than usual. Pinkie finished placing the cube down and walking through the door as Glados said "Well the bad news is the tests are my tests now, so they CAN kill us."
She made her way through the next and as she finished it, Glados started talking again. "Well the good news is he'll run out of tests soon because I never stockpiled them. Pinkie worked her way through each test although they didn't seem to get much harder. "Uh oh it can't be...oh...well it's probably nothing, just keep testing while I think of way out" Glados said concernedly.
Pinkie Pie then made her way through another test before hearing Glados again. "He's leading us right to him! But he's getting desperate with you completing them relatively fast. This could be good, or really bad." said Glados. The next test had a new device that had multiple lasers activated by a switch in which she worked her way back and forth across it, turning it on and off.
Wheatley's voice came on again as Pinkie Pie entered the next elevator room. "Well I couldn't find any more tests for you to do... So I think I'll find one if you want to go on ahead. OH! That just reminds me, I have a BIG surprise for you two coming up soon. You might even say you'll love it to DEATH!" Wheatley said unsubtle.
Pinkie walked into the pod elevator. The elevator soon reached the top as Wheatley's voice said overhead "Well I bet you're both DYING to know what your big surprise is, well only TWO more chambers!" Pinkie walked forward into the room and jumped onto the aerial face plate. To her and Glados amazement, the plate shot left as wall panels opened up, sailing Pinkie and Glados through the air several times.
"SURPRISE! We're doing it now!" Wheatley exclaimed. The Aerial face plates led Pinkie to Wheatley. "Hello! This is the part where I kill you. Wheatley babbled on about how he set up spiked walls all around you, ready to close in and kill you. Pinkie noticed The white gel she'd seen earlier leaking from above. She used it to portal herself just beyond where she was before as Wheatley made an attempt to close the walls in on her.
She was galloping on metal grates for paths again, and felt the same way it did when Pinkie was taking Wheatley up to Glados. Wheatley made several attempts to crush walls and giant objects down onto them as they navigated their way through the multiple rooms. Pinkie used multiple portals, red gel, blue gel, white gel, and turrets to get past Wheatley's obstacles, which were surprisingly harder than Glados's attempts.
Pinkie then walked into a small circular room with a circuit board. "Good the cores are corrupted. If you can stun him, I'll send you a core and you can plug it into him. If we do it a few times, it may put his corruption level high enough for another core transfer. Okay plug me into the circuit there" said Glados. Pinkie Pie placed her in as Glados started again.
"Even if you think we're still enemies, we're enemies with a common goal; revenge." Glados finished as the moving platform they were on neared the room where Wheatley is...
The platform reached the room with Wheatley in Glados's body in the middle of the area. "Okay let me give you a run down, this place is going to self destruct in about 5 minutes. So that means I'm going to kill you within the first 3 minutes, that'll leave a minute break for me before I figure out how to stop the facility from exploding. Also I watched all the tapes of Glados being destroyed so I am NOT going to make those same mistakes.
Number 1, no portal surfaces. Number 2, start the neurotoxin immediately. 3, all proof shields for me." Wheatley stated. After that Wheatley started shooting bombs at Pinkie Pie as she dashed out of the way and ran behind a glass tube with the white gel flowing through it. The bomb shattered the glass and released the white gel which splattered on the floor and panels on the walls. When Glados said "if you can find a way to stun him."
Then she thought she must be able to use his bombs against him. With that in mind, she place a portal on one of the slanted panels and one below her feet as Wheatley shot at her again. Only to be hit by the bomb coming out the other portal. Wheatley had shocks going throughout his body as he would be stalled for a little bit. "Look up there, I brought you a corrupted core. Go attach it to his body" said Glados.
Pinkie shot a portal on a panel above a metal grate. She then jumped and grabbed the sphere. She brought it over to Wheatley's body and plugged it in as the core babbled stuff about space. "Ow, what happened? I will let you know I will not let that happen again" Wheatley said as he place the shields around him at the height where the bomb hit him.
Pinkie thought about it quickly then shot a portal below Wheatley's body and then one below herself. Wheatley blindly shot again sure he wouldn't get hit as the bomb came through the portal below him and blew up against him once more. "Here, I'm sending another core" stated Glados. Pinkie used portals to get to the core and plug it into Wheatley's body again. "Okay this is ENOUGH!" Wheatley shouted as he put shields covering the front half of him below and above.
Upon observation, Pinkie easily noticed his back was completely unprotected as once more she placed a portal on one of the panels behind him. Wheatley shot at her again as she placed another portal below her, just nearly missing the bomb this time. The bomb hit Wheatley in the back once. "I sent in another core, this one should do it!" Glados anticipatively said.
She once again grabbed the last core and placed it onto Wheatley's body. A Generic voice came on overhead "Warning, core corruption at 100%, manual core transfer required. Please go press the core transfer button to confirm the core transfer. Pinkie placed a portal above the button, and one at the floor and jumped in.
As she was about to press the button, it exploded in her face, hurling her backwards, as she groaned on the floor. "HA! I booby trapped the core transfer button...Wait, are you still alive? You are joking, you have got to be kidding me." Wheatley said. Pinkie layed there on the floor hurt too much to move as part of the ceiling collapsed revealing the moon... She had no other option, she used the last of her strength and shot a portal at it.
Several seconds later, the room shook with undeniably great suction through the portal on the ground. Pinkie was pulled into the portal as she grabbed onto Wheatley. She was in space, debris flying past her all around. The only thing from hurling her into open space was hanging on to Wheatley. "Hang on to me, I'm still connected, I can still fix this" shouted Wheatley. "I already fixed it! And you are NOT coming back in"
Glados said as she was back in control. Glados used an arm to smash Wheatley out of her body as he shot deep into endless space. Pinkie wondered why she wasn't flying out into space with him. She looked up to see Glados having a clasp on her hoof. Glados pulled her in, closed the portals, and set her down onto the floor as her eyes closed.
She woke up later with Glados looking down upon her. "Oh thank god you're alright. You know, I've learned something, I thought you were my greatest enemy, when all along you were my best friend. You know what my days were like? I just tested. No one tried to murder me, or put me in a potato, or fed me to birds. I had a pretty good life before... And then you showed up, you dangerous, mute, lunatic. So you know what? You win. Just go..."
Glados stated. The escape pod moved up out of the room and gained speed for some time until it came to a halt with a large metal door in front of her. It opened up. Pinkie Pie was overbearingly amazed at the sight of outside. The incredibly bright, natural light, the birds swiftly flying through the air, the cool grass wet with dew. Out in the distance she saw something that wanted to make her cry with happiness.
It was Ponyville...
