Winter a mysterious pegasus has come to Ponyville during their Winter Wrap Up for some unknown reason
This story takes place during the events of the episode "Winter Wrap Up"
Winter wrap up has begun in Ponyville and everypony is busy going about their business. But somepony named Winter has come to Ponyville and has made an impression with Rainbow Dash. But there is more to this mare then what meets the eye as Granny Smith learned of an ancient tale of a pegasus that will cause winter to last all year long and she fears that this pegasus may be a harbinger of a long winter.
It was a cold winter day in Ponyville with light snow blowing through the air. A strange white-coated pegasus with a light blue mane which was gracefully flowing in the wind over her head with her dark pink eyes scanning the area carefully as she continued flying through the sky. The pegasus was oddly not wearing any kind of winter clothing; she didn't seem bothered by the cold wind or the snow falling around her in the least. The mysterious mare continued on her way, flying through the skies eventually coming down onto Ponyville and saw that everypony was out and busy planting seeds, clearing snow, and singing this "Winter Wrap Up" all around her. She tilted her head with a gaze at the crowds of ponies and had this odd look on her face and is quite unsure of what to think about this whole "Winter Wrap Up" idea making her giggle, but also feel a pang of sadness go through her as she looked at Winter being packed away by the grouped ponies around her. Nopony noticed her as they were going about their assigned duties, and she just sat their kind of admiring everything. She stood up and turned to see that one strange blue-coated pegasus with a short rainbow-colored mane and tail trailing behind her. The pegasus zoomed across the sky and crashed down onto the snow, blasting it across the ground. Rainbow Dash eyed the strange white-coated pegasus with a suspicious look and asked in an inquisitive tone. "Hey, who are you?"
Winter's eyes flashed as she felt a bit surprised at the sudden question and exclaimed, "Oh m-me!? I'm nopony I assure you."
Rainbow rolled her eyes and responded, "What I mean is what's your name?"
"Oh...um...m..my name is Winter." The mare responded as she blushed, looking down a bit embarrassed, seeing that this pegasus was quite a cute one.
Rainbow Dash's hard demeanor suddenly disappeared as she snickered at the pegasus and joked. "Winter, huh? Well, that's funny considering we're wrapping you up right now?"
Winter giggled at the joking remark and chirped back. "Oh yeah!? Well, I hope they don't wrap me up too tightly?"
Rainbow couldn't help but roll around the snow and laugh out loud again, "oh man, that was a good one!?"
The blue-coated pegasus then got up and looked to Winter who’s cheeks were now flushed red as she asked, "So um.. I’m curious.. who are you? If you don’t mind me asking?"
"I'm Rainbow Dash, of course! How could you not know who I am!?"' The blue-coated mare exclaimed with a peeved tone."
Winter snickered as she replied, "Oh s-sorry, I'm new. I just came down from Cloudsdale to admire the famous Winter Wrap Up in Ponyville this year?"
Rainbow shrugged as she responded casually. "It's nothing special, just a bunch of work with singing to keep us from being bored out of our minds."
The white-coated mare looked around with a sad smile on her face. "I don't know? This is kind of nice but also kind of sad...I mean, I do love winter a lot."
The daredevil paused for a second as she was unsure of how to phrase her next question and asked, "so..um…do you want to join in? Or would it be too weird to ask you to help wrap up the season you're named after?"
Winter chuckled as she replied, "N..n~no! It's fine, I wouldn't mind helping out at all! I mean.. we need to have four seasons or the snowflake workers would work themselves to death."
"Good point! So how about we clear some of these clouds out of the way?" Rainbow Dash asked, getting a bit excited.
Winter gave a nod and a cute smile as she flew after the pegasus, and they went about the air. Rainbow slammed her hooves against the clouds busting them into puffs of air after what seemed like an hour or two of cloudbusting. The daredevil turned to see that a good chunk of the clouds were already gone, and Winter was standing by fluttering around one cloud then simply tapped it with a hoof as it poofed into a flurry of snowflakes. The pegasus was stunned and was quite embarrassed to see that this Winter was quite adorable in more ways than one. Rainbow Dash had a surprised expression on her face as she quickly flew over and asked, “How did you do that?"
"O..oh um it... it’s just a trick I learned." Winter responded nervously as she fluttered over to Rainbow. The pegasus flew back a bit and turned her head away blushing lightly, seeing the mare's cute face up close.
The white-coated pegasus paused as she saw Rainbow's expression and got a little flustered. "Hey!? Stop doing that!"
"Doing what!?" Rainbow Dash cried out, now feeling self-conscious about herself.
Winter sighed as she turned her head. "Oh it's nothing, I just... I don't like it when ponies look at me that way. As if I'm cute or something."
Rainbow threw her hooves across her chest and scoffed, "Of course you're not cute!? I mean your...um..well..your awesome would be a better word."
Winter giggled and threw a hoof as she responded. "Ok, I can definitely accept being called awesome...so...ponies call you cute too?"
"What, of course not!" Rainbow snapped back turning her head away with her cheeks flushed red.
Winter smirked and blew some snowflakes towards Rainbow Dash's face landing them on her muzzle forcing the daredevil to scrunch her nose in response. She scoffed, "what was that for?"
"Oh, nothing." The white-coated mare chuckled a bit and asked, "Anyways, now that we're done with busting clouds, maybe wanna get some food? I'm starving.” She stopped and seemed to remember something and said. “Well actually, I’m going to need to find a place to stay first. Any idea where I could go?”
Rainbow shrugged, "I guess you can stay at my place for a bit. And as for food well I’ve got the goods! Come on!" The blue-coated pegasus exclaimed flying off while Winter trailed behind her. The two eventually came upon a small nice small house in the clouds. The blue pegasus opened the door, and Winter walked in with a cute smile on her face admiring the Wonderbolt paraphilia all over the walls and eventually made her way to the couch. She waited for Rainbow Dash to finish fixing up something to eat in the kitchen. The mare looked over to see the blue-coated pegasus bringing out a platter of cookies and some hot cider. "I had this all made before I left to help with the wrap-up."
Winter smiled excited to eat as rainbow sat down next to her then began to eat the delicious cookies and drink cider together. The white-coated mare was unsure of what to say and looked down at the hot cider sitting in front of her. Winter wasn't a fan of hot drinks and spotted Rainbow not paying attention then sent a breath of cold air from her mouth cooling the drink down a bit. She continued to drink her cider nonchalantly as Rainbow yapped about how she can't wait for spring to watch the next Wonderbolts show. Winter couldn't help but listen to her cutely ramble on and notice interesting things about Rainbow Dash, how the mare's eyes glistened with this look of excitement when she talked, how her hooves were kicking, and how the mare's wings were flapping vigorously as she talked about the Wonderbolts.
Rainbow Dash looked over and asked, "So...um...how you doing? You've been quiet for a while."
Winter blinked, shaking her head as if she was escaping a trance and responded, "Oh N-no no no, I just didn't want to interrupt you."
"Oh, stop being so nervous, you remind me of Fluttershy!" Rainbow snapped back with her cheeks glowing pink.
Winter snickered and asked, "Wh-who's Fluttershy?"
Rainbow looked up from her drink and explained, "Oh, she's my best friend..the mare's a scardy cat, but she is no doubt the kindest pony in Ponyville."
"Oh.. I see…" Winter whispered as she sipped her drink, wondering if Rainbow had a crush on this Fluttershy, but didn't want to say anything more. Rainbow Dash asked, "So...your from Cloudsdale, huh? You work at the weather factory?"
Winter was a bit unsure of what to say as the mare wasn't ready to tell Rainbow anything about herself or past and decided to lie. "Y..yes...I love making snowflakes. It's my job at the factory."
Rainbow nodded as she asked, "huh? Did you always like Winter?"
"Well yeah, of course I did! Ever since I was a little filly, I loved and still love watching the snowfall around me every time winter comes around. I got so interested in the perfect beauty of all the different snowflakes and patterns, I decided I wanted to design and create my own!" The pegasus exclaimed as she clapped her hooves together attempting to act excited. The story was a half-lie, but it was believable enough to keep Rainbow Dash inquiring too much else about her past.
Rainbow Dash snickered at the story as she placed her cup down. "I don't think I've ever seen a pony so excited about snow before."
Winter blushed now feeling a bit self-conscious and threw her wings across her face. Rainbow squeaked, a bit stunned at the other mare's reaction, and exclaimed, "Oh I didn't mean to embarrass you! I think it's rather cute you love snow so much."
"No stop, I told you not to call me cute! " Winter snapped with a pout on her face.
"Sorry, jeez!?" Rainbow scoffed as she rolled her eyes and finished her hot cider. "Hey, so are you planning to stay in Ponyville the whole Winter Wrapup?"
Winter pondered and sat back to think it over a while then replied, "Well, to be honest, yeah I think I’d like to stay till it’s over, but… I will be needing a place to sleep for the whole duration of my stay..." The mare was a bit nervous as she continued to ask" So.. um… w..would it be ok if I stay here with you? At least until it’s over?"
"That would be awesome! I wouldn't mind another pegasus from Cloudsdale bunking with me!" Rainbow shouted, getting a bit excited to get to know this pegasus some more. Winter then also jumped up with a cute smile on her face and chirped, "Oh thank Celestia! I can’t wait! So now that I’ve got a place to stay, could I possibly meet the other ponies now? If you don’t mind?"
"Of course! You have got to meet my friends, they're going to love you!" Rainbow exclaimed holding out a hoof. Winter giggled as well taking her hoof, and the two flew through the front door and zoomed towards Ponyville below.
Winter flew down to Ponyville and lightly landed onto the snow with Rainbow and turned to the first pony they saw who happened to be Rarity. She was busy, sitting at a picnic table, crafting dozens of bird nests for all the various birds coming back for the spring. Winter couldn't help but be quite impressed with the unicorn's work and saw that each one had cute laces tied across the branches with gems embedded in pockets of the nest itself. Rarity looked up with a smile and waved a hoof. "Hello, darlings, did you come to help?"
Rainbow Dash made a "bleh" sound as she stepped back. "No way! I'm not into this arts and crafts stuff!"
Winter giggled as she came over, admiring the work. "So...do birds actually nest in these?"
"Oh yes, darling by the dozens, but I'm very far behind schedule!" Rarity exclaimed as she continued to work furiously on her nests.
Winter smirked and looked over at the nests and blew some ice magic, forming little diamond-like icicles all over the nests with snowflake patterns, glistening in the sunlight. Rarity looked over to the nests after noticing a chill pass by her. Her eyes widened in surprise, "my goddess! How did that happen!?"
Rainbow looked over and burst into laughter at the sight of it. "Rarity, you seriously need to be paying more attention to your work."
"I didn't do this! I mean yes, the designs are quite beautiful!? But it's not spring-like I'll have to redo these ones!" The white-coated mare cried out, annoyed, stunned, and impressed.
Winter couldn't help but chuckle as she walked over. "I think it’s fine Raritys, and besides, since when do birds care about how nice their nests look.”
Rarity paused hearing this new voice and turned to face Winter. Her cheeks flushed red, seeing those deep pink eyes staring back at her as she stammered. "Oh...my!? Rainbow, is this a friend of yours?"
Rainbow Dash walked up a bit and explained, "Well, she's more like a new friend I just met. Her name's Winter, and she's here too…" The pegasus snickered before continuing. " To watch us wrap her up!"
Winter rolled her eyes this time and replied sarcastically. "Wow.. real original."
Rarity couldn't help but giggle before responding, "Oh darling, you have a lovely name, and we're happy to have you here for winter wrap up. But I must ask? Are you cold? I can get you a scarf or a coat?"
Winter gulped, knowing that this would come up eventually and hesitantly replied, "Oh no no no! I’m fine really. I have a natural tolerance to the cold."
Rainbow rose up with her wings flapping and excited wide eyes. "Wow! That's so awesome! Is that like a superpower or something!?"
Winter blushed, seeing how cute Rainbow looked when getting all excited then meekly mumbled. "Oh no, it's nothing like that, heh..."
Before Winter could react, a beautiful bright blue scarf embedded with diamonds was wrapped around her neck. Rarity then exclaimed, "Oh, please, it's not just because their practical, winter wear can also be quite fashionable!"
Winter was a bit stunned by the gesture, but she did seem to like the feeling of the soft scarf wrapped around her neck. Rainbow Dash looked over to winter, and her wings shot outward in shock being aroused by what she saw. The pegasus gulped and stammered, "Wi...Winter..um..that scarf looks so cu.. I mean looks so awesome on you!"
Winter was quite embarrassed by all this sudden attention flashing her wings across her face again, and she could hear Rarity “dawww. Oh, she's just adorable!?"
Winter was upset by this then decided to react in a cute and peeved manner by stomping a hoof. "No no no no no! I’m not cute!"
Rainbow ruffled Rarity's mane. "Come on Rarity, don't be rude to our new friend!"
"Me rude!? How absurd!" Rarity scoffed as she went back to her work. The daredevil then flew back over to Winter. "Hey, come on! We’ve got a few more ponies I want you to meet!"
The white-coated pegasus looked deeply into her new best friend's magenta-colored eyes and couldn't help but whisper, "Sure lead the way~" They then flew off again to meet Rainbow’s next friend.
After a while, they flew across some snowy hills to find an odd sight. There was a pink coated mare ice skating on the lake below with a purple coated unicorn also "attempting" to ice skate, but kept slamming into the snowbanks. Winter followed Rainbow Dash down the slopes and helped the purple coated unicorn out of the snow. The purple mare spat some snow out and grumbled, "thanks Rainbow and…" she turned eyeing the white-coated pegasus before Rainbow held out a hoof. "This is Winter; she's new from Cloudsdale."
"Ah, Cloudsdale! Nice to meet you. I'm Twilight Sparkle and recently moved down from Canterlot to study friendship!" the unicorn chirped as she held out a hoof.
Winter slowly took her hoof out and shook it with this odd unicorn who's horn suddenly lit up. "Oh, wow!? I felt a weird tingle did that co-"
Winter eeped, not realizing that this Twilight could sense her power, and before the unicorn could say anything else, a pile of snow fell on top of her. Rainbow Dash burst into another fit of laughter. "Oh, wow, Twilight!? winter wrap up does hate you!"
The mare lit her horn and shot out from the snow, grumbling, "Yeah, I get it I’m terrible at everything."
Rainbow and Twilight continued their conversation while Winter turned her attention to see Pinkie Pie skating by, who exclaimed, "Hey guys!? Why are you all just standing around and not helping break up this ice?!"
Rainbow crossed her hooves and snapped angrily. "I already did my job Pinkie, I'm just showing my new friend Winter around."
Pinkie Pie's mouth dropped as she gave an overdramatic gasp seeing the mare and shouted, "Wait, you moved into Ponyville and nopony told me!" She then sped off as Winter blinked a bit confused about what exactly just happened. "H..hey um...is she ok?"
Twilight giggled remembering when she first stepped into Ponyville, "Trust me, she's just fine, so let's just say your in for a surprise later."
Rainbow rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Yeah, we can have fun with Pinkie Pie later come on ya gotta at least meet the Apples."
"Hey! I'm going that way as well would it be ok if I join you two?" Twilight asked as she got up, shaking the snow off her body.
Winter bowed her head a bit embarrassed as she whispered, "Oh um.. sounds good to me."
Rainbow gave a nod and exclaimed, "Yeah, sure. Now come on, we're burning daylight!"
Rainbow and Twilight rushed off while Winter stood back for a bit only to send a wave of magic freezing the lake again then decided to add a few cute ice sculptures of swans for fun. She blushed a little knowing that Pinkie put in a lot of work, but also wanted winter wrap up to last a bit longer. She then quickly skipped off to catch up with her new friends.
Winter flew over with Twilight and Rainbow Dash to Applejack, who was busy trying to clear the fields of snow with other earth ponies. She was quite busy with the plowing that she barely noticed the group coming over. Applejack was quite astounded seeing the ponies coming over. The farm mare looked up to see the three, and her gaze widened, upon being curious and asked, "Hey, what gives? Are we all going to a party or something?"
Rainbow Dash flew towards Applejack some more and waved a hoof. "Pinkie Pie is throwing a party or something, and I'm just showing my new friend Winter about. As for Twilight, I think she's trying to be helpful?"
Twilight was already running off to hitch a plow to herself. The farm mare looked over to Winter, and her eyes widened with a surprised look on her face. "Huh, your name's Winter? Have we ever met before?"
The pegasus was a bit shocked at this response and shook her head. "Uh no? I mean.. I don’t think we have?"
Applejack eyed the mare, and something in her face slowly changed. The farm mare seemed to be reflecting on something as she stopped plowing, and her gaze became something of a mix of horror and surprise as she ran off leaving Winter scratching her head. "Wait huh? What was that about?"
Rainbow shrugged completely confused by Applejack's behavior and simply responded,"I have no idea?"
"Well, at least we can try to help you-" Rainbow and Winter both suddenly looked away in Twilight’s direction and saw her and the plow had somehow caused a ton of snow to cover the previously emptied fields. The two mares laughed as Winter nuzzled Rainbow. "Well, there goes all that hard work huh?"
Rainbow sighed, seeing Twilight running off in tears and shook her head. "Oh, Twilight, you just had to use your magic, huh?"
Winter blushed and responded. “If you think about it though, both earth ponies and pegasi are using magic too."
Rainbow laughed and slapped her wings. "Ok, come on you and egghead can talk about magic to make her feel better." She then flew off after Twilight as Winter fluttered behind unsure of how to help and whether or not being around this Twilight was a good idea.
Soon enough, Winter and Rainbow flew after Twilight in an attempt to console her. The daredevil pegasus decided to fly directly in front of the unicorn and snapped. “hey, what gives!? You giving up already!”
“Wha...no! That’s no-” Twilight stammered, being quite distraught.
“Oh, come on! You can’t let the fact that you suck at Winter wrap up to get in the way! You gotta keep trying!” Rainbow shouted at her, trying to do her best not to sound angry and be more motivational.
Twilight paused as she thought things over and gave a small nod then sighed, “alright...maybe I’ll consider it…”
The unicorn feeling embarrassed about her actions turned to Winter, “Sorry, I didn't mean to act so weirdly around you.”
“No, no! It’s fine, I don’t think you're weird in fact..y..you are quite interesting…” The white-coated pegasus squeaked, being a bit unsure if Twilight could sense her mysterious power.
Twilight looked up and whispered under her breath. “Yeah, I can feel something strange about you as if you possess some kind of power or ability…”
Winter blushed nervously as she stepped back. “Oh stop, y-you're just saying that.”
The mare then saw Twilight come over, feeling her horn tingle. She slowly explained, “Seriously, there’s something about you I can feel. It’s as if you have some strange power… I’ve heard of pegasi having an uncanny ability to control certain forms of weather or have some kind of power, and I bet you’re like some sort of super-powerful pony of Winter.
“No, no, I’m really not!?” Winter whimpered behind her hooves before Rainbow dash interrupted, “That's just an old pony tale, seriously, she probably just really likes snow, and that's all there is to it.”
“Y..yeah! Rainbow is absolutely right.” Winter whimpered, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“Oh, don't be so modest; maybe you can help me! I'm trying to find a way to be of assistance with Winter Wrap up.” Twilight explained.
“More like she came here to make things worse!” Applejack explained, interrupting them as she stomped over to them through the snow.
Winter was flanked by the apple family, Apple Bloom, Granny Smith and Big Mac altogether. Granny smith gasped “It's the ancient spirit of Winter! We have to stop her!” “Yeah! She’s here to ruin our Winter Wrap Up and cause a hundred years of Winter!” Applejack shouted out loud in a concerned tone.
Big mac simply nodded “ey’ yup.”
Apple Bloom rolled her eyes. “Ugh Applejack, you seriously didn’t learn everything from the Zecora incident did you?”
Twilight blushed as she explained, “Apple Bloom’s right Applejack, please don't go assuming things of ponies until you get to know them first.”
Applejack stood back a bit and responded, “Fine, there are a few tests we gotta do! The first thing we need to see is if she can survive a boop. If she faints, that proves she’s the spirit of Winter.”
Rainbow dropped on to snowy ground bursting out in laughter as Twilight snickered. “Oh, Applejack, I don't know what you’ve been reading, but nopony can faint from just being booped. It’s just ridiculous.”
"Well, I guess there's only one way to find out." Applejack trotted through the snow straight up to Winter. The pegasus whimpered as she stood there shaking in fear as the farm mare picked up her hoof and gave Winter's snout a little boop. The small mare then immediately fell to the snow and blacked out.
Winter woke up a few hours later, sat up, and sneezed quite cutely. Completely confused about where she was and what was going on, she found herself in a bed with a few blankets placed over her, which felt quite warm and comforting. She then turned her head to see Rainbow standing over her with a smile, “Hey, you’re awake, how ya feeling? I was so worried about you.”
She was hoofed a warm cup of lemon tea by the blue-coated pegasus, and she slowly cooled it down as she drank the tea with a light blush. “Wh...what happened?”
“I don’t know? You got booped, then simply fainted!” Rainbow exclaimed.
Winter blushed not knowing how to explain what happened to Rainbow Dash without delving into her past and simply stammered, “Oh s..sorry ..it...it’s a condition.” “Well, I’ve never heard of a condition like that before.” Rainbow sighed. “Well, to be fair, you probably should stay inside for right now. The Apples are all going crazy telling everypony they need to kick you out.”
Winter squeaked out loud and exclaimed, “Wait, are you serious!?”
Rainbow turned her back as she poured another cup of tea, accidentally showing off her rump. “Yeah, trust me. I'm gonna try to knock sense into her later, but you probably should just bunk with me tonight, ok?”
Winter’s face turned beet red, seeing Rainbow’s rump and turned away. “O-oh uh ok...it...it's rather late I should probably get some sleep.”
Rainbow came back over sipping some tea and asked, “Hey...um I only have one bed...and well it’s rather cold..so...would it be ok if we slept together? I...I mean, if you're not comfortable with that, I don’t mind sleeping on the couch.”
Winter’s face was now flushed pink as she squeaked, “No, no, no, it’s fine! I.. I don’t mind at all.” Rainbow wiped some sweat from her brow. “ok, thanks. I’m just gonna do some stretches before bed.”
Rainbow then flexed her wings and did some poses, not realizing again her rear was facing Winter, who did her best to not look in order to avoid arousal by Rainbow’s toned body. Eventually, the Daredevil pegasus snuggled into bed, squirming next to Winter. She asked, “Hey, I’m not taking too much space, am I?”
Winter shook her head “n..n-no.” as she was speechless, seeing herself next to this beautiful new friend of hers. Rainbow squirmed about until she was nestled next to Winter. Despite looking like she would be cold, her body heat was quite warm and comforting with the added bonus of Rainbow’s left-wing flapped over Winter like an extra blanket. Rainbow gave a cute yawn and mumbled softly, “Love ya, Winter....”
The mare blushed beet red, hearing what Rainbow said, not knowing for sure what the daredevil meant and layed there just soaking in the moment. After what felt like an hour, Rainbow Dash was snoring and was now sound asleep, with Winter still too excited to even think about sleep. She slowly turned to face Rainbow only to see how cute she was up close with her rainbow mane draped over her face, her eyelids closed, and seamlessly peaceful. The mare then looked to Rainbow’s muzzle and noticed it twitching. Winter being curious, suddenly had the urge to boop her. She had never done it to another pony before and wondered what would happen if she did? The mare slowly brought a hoof out from under the blanket and gently gave the snout a little boop. Rainbow giggled and kicked in reaction mumbling, “That tickles~”
Winter snickered, seeing how cute Rainbow was acting in her sleep and couldn’t help but give in to her urges once again and booped the blue-coated mare for a second time. This time Rainbow’s snout scrunched up, and she gave the cutest little sneeze and brushed her nose with a hoof. “Hmmm, who’s doing that?”
Winter giggled as she whispered, “It’s me, Winter~ ”
“Oh, did you bring me presents? Is it a wonderbolt flight suit?” Rainbow murmured in her sleep. Winter chuckled, continuing to play along. “Oh of course, but first, I need you to be a good little filly and let miss Winty boop your cute little nose.”
“Oh, That’s all? Bring it on, I can handle all the boops.” Rainbow mumbled under her breath. Winter suddenly couldn’t hold back any longer, then took her hoof and quickly gave her new adorable friend a third boop. Rainbow then suddenly woke up. “Huh!? What’s going on?” Winter eeped as she covered herself with the blanket, and Rainbow looked down, wiggling her muzzle. “Hey, were you booping my nose?”
“N..no!?” Rainbow then gave Winter a silly glare and didn’t let up. “Ok, ok!! I may have booped you a couple of times…” She said in an effort to stop Rainbow’s glare. ”I just wanted to see what would happen if I booped another pony.” The white-coated mare whimpered, fearing that Rainbow might be angry at her.
But the daredevil pony simply scoffed, “oh really!? Well, considering your condition, I can’t boop you back, but I can do this!”
She took out a wing and started tickling Winter’s exposed belly making her start giggling. Still, soon it turned into rancorous laughter as Rainbow continued her little tickle session. “There! Got ya back were even.”
Winter nodded, breathing faster, still giggling, and loving how Rainbow’s wings felt to the touch. The daredevil mare then snuggled up next to her again. She whispered, “You know, you're super awesome, right?”
Winter blushed was a bit embarrassed knowing that Rainbow just changed the meaning of “awesome” to mean “cute.” Still, considering how well they’ve gotten along, she didn’t want to insult her host. “I think you're super awesome, too, especially when you're sleeping.”
“Hehe, well, maybe we can be awesome together and show Applejack is overprotective as usual.” Rainbow yawned.
Winter nodded as she snuggled up next to her new friend and slowly fell into a blissful sleep.
The next morning came, and Winter and Rainbow Dash quickly grabbed a bite to eat then promptly flew off towards the Apple’s farm. There Applejack came out, standing her ground in the snow, looking quite angry as Rainbow flew right in front of her face. "Ok, we need to put an end to all of this! I mean, come on! Your freaking Winter out and pissing me off!" Applejack threw a hoof in the air and scoffed, "And I can't believe ya can't see that she's gonna ruin all our efforts made towards Winter wrap up."
"Well, to be fair, she isn't, and I think that you're overreacting. Now yeah, she fainted when you booped her on the nose, but so what? That doesn't prove anything!" Rainbow snapped back, getting right into her friend’s face.
Winter blushed as she came over and replied, "um...look, I know this may sound weird, but can I talk to you and your family? Maybe I can prove that I’m not what you think?”
Applejack pondered the idea and then shrugged, "alright, maybe ya don't know about your powers. Come on now, Granny Smith will explain everything."
She took Winter inside the house, and the white-coated pegasus blushed a nervous look as they came into the main living room. There, Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith were all sitting in the living room. The large red stallion’s face turned pink once he caught the eye of Winter and quickly turned his head. The white-coated pony squeaked, seeing the massive stallion herself as she stammered, “Woah! h..he’s so big!”
Applejack turned to her brother and snickered, “Oh, don’t be scared of Big Mac. Trust me, he’s as harmless as a spring bunny.” The stallion groaned as he hid his face behind his hooves. “Seriously, Applejack!?”
Any fear Winter had of Big Mac had faded seeing the cute behavior of his. She then turned to see little Apple Bloom looking at her with big wide eyes seemingly full of questions as she shouted, “Wow! Ya can control the snow! Can ya make a blizzard come so they cancel school! Or maybe make it snow ice cream!”
“Apple Bloom calm down, even if she’s the spirit of winter, that’s just nonsense ya spouting.” Applejack scolded to her sister.
Winter giggled at the remark and soon sat down with Rainbow Dash and Applejack pondering if she really could make it snow ice cream before Granny raised her hooves dramatically and exclaimed, "Ah yes, the spirit of Winter has arrived and has come to bring upon a year-long winter! It has been predicted since I came to this valley as a filly."
Everypony then turned to face Granny though Winter struggled to do her best to respond to the old mare. Winter blushed feeling a bit embarrassed seeing how this “spirit of winter” stuff sounded crazy but was curious and wanted to see what these ponies honestly thought about her. Applejack spoke up and asked.“So, Granny, can you give more details about this story of yours? Maybe I can explain some things.”
Granny rubbed her hooves as she continued, “Alrighty then! Get ready; this story is a doozy! A long time ago, there was a very long winter! So long ago, Winter Wrap up was impossible all because pegasi still didn’t control the weather like they do today. Now at the time, we thought it was just some crazy weather that blew in from the Everfree forest! But in truth, I’ve learned from some of the older ponies they saw a mysterious pegasus flying about causing the bad weather! And worst of all, if she caught you, she’d freeze you to death!”
Everypony blinked, hesitating to say anything. Applejack blushed in the realization that this story might not be as credible as she first thought. She then cleared her throat before responding, “Um...granny ya sure they saw a pegasus? Or were they just seeing things…”
“No, I’m certain they saw a pegasus causing the blizzard!” Granny stomped a hoof. “Too bad all them old folk are probably in the great stable in the sky now. But I do remember them stories, alright.”
Winter rubbed her head, blushing lightly and exclaimed."Look, I don't want to be rude, but I do think you got this all wrong. I'm not here to cause a year-long winter...and even if I did… did those old ponies say anything about a way to stop this winter from happening?"
Granny Smith seemed to ponder the question before she responded. “From what I was told, I believe that they said somethin’ about trying to turn you into Spring, and that would stop the curse."
"Ok...so how would we perform such a transformation?" Winter asked, being quite concerned about where this was going.
Granny Smith stood up and explained, "It will take a few days to prepare, but first, I'm going to need flowers!”
Applejack slammed a hoof in her face as she replied, "Granny, there are no flowers in Ponyville in the middle of winter."
"Nonsense, we have the Everfree Forest, there are tons of flowers there! Now come, we must gather flowers!" Granny exclaimed as she stomped off. Applejack blushed as she sat up and turned to Winter and apologized. “Hey...uh sorry for assuming things about you, I should’ve realized that Granny’s stories were just stories.” “Oh.. um… no, it’s fine.” Winter whimpered behind her hooves. Big Mac sat up, seeming to be oddly nervous, simply nodded and responded with a quick “Ey’ yup.” before running off with Applejack chasing after their Granny.
Apple Bloom seeing she was finally alone with Winter jumped and asked in excitement. "Ok, that’s enough of that! Ya guys hungry?"
"Sure squirt, I'm starving! Ya got any apple cider?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, hopping from a couch and stretching her wings.
The little filly chirped, "of course we have apple cider! And it'll taste great with fritters and apple pie."
Apple Bloom then scurried back over to Winter and asked, “Hey!? While we're making apple fritters and apple pie, is it ok if I ask ya a bunch of questions?”
“Yeah, of course! You can ask me anything you want.” Winter replied with a genuinely happy smile knowing she just can’t help but love this cute little filly. Soon enough, the three were chatting away as they started getting out baking supplies for their anticipated lunch.
After their lunch, Winter was feeling quite full before turning to the other ponies, all lounging about after having eaten all the pastries. She looked to Rainbow Dash, finishing what must have been a third mug of apple cider, before she averted her attention to Winter and replied, "Hey, you look like you doubled in size."
Winter blushed, looking away and chuckled as she rubbed a hoof behind her head. "Yeah, I guess I ate a little too much pie… hehe..."
"Winter ya storing up all that fat for winter?" Apple Bloom asked jokingly.
Rainbow Dash burst into laughter as Winter blushed more, "I'm not that fat..."
She soon sat next to Rainbow Dash and suddenly hugged her causing the mare to blush as she nuzzled back into her. The atmosphere of the room was very relaxing with the fire burning in the hearth and the earthy smell of burning logs permeating all over the room. It didn’t last long before Granny Smith, Big Mac, and Applejack returned with a bucket of flowers, pine needles, a bucket of "spring" water, and a bucket of milk. Granny Smith placed them down and explained, "now I'm back with all the necessary items to change the spirit of winter to spring."
Winter seemed nervous seeing all the strange objects Granny Smith had brought over. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and grumbled, "Alright, if this doesn't work, all of this craziness with Winter had better stop."
Big Mac brought the bucket of milk down and replied, "Don't worry, this fresh milk came from some cows nearby; it's quite good."
Applejack placed a bucket of freshwater down and nuzzled Big Mac. "Oh yeah, he's quite the milker and knows how to treat them cows right."
Rainbow Dash laughed as the stallion snapped, "Oh, haha, really funny Applejack..."
Granny Smith placed her basket of flowers and pine needles on the ground before raising her voice, "That's enough! We don't have time for chit chat. We need to get Winter turned into Spring ASAP!"
Applejack, feeling a bit bad for how she and her family have been treating Winter, came over and asked, "Hey Granny, calm down; we're probably wrong about all of this, so let's give Winter some space."
Apple Bloom got up, also getting peeved by Granny, and snapped, "Yeah! Stop that; it's not fair to her."
Granny Smith stepped back. "Hey, I just want to help!"
Winter felt the tension of the argument rising and got up before holding out a hoof. "Hey hey! It’s quite alright; to be honest, this sounds like it could be fun, so what’s the first step?"
Granny Smith quickly calmed down, came over, and took the bucket of flowers and placed them on the ground then placed a circlet of flowers over her head. "There ya go, now ya have the power of spring over you!"
"Now, it's time to pour the spring showers over your body!" Granny then slowly poured hot water mixed in with more flowers over her head. Winter soon squeaked and blushed, noticing that Dash was unable to keep her eyes off her, mesmerized by her drenched body. Winter then suddenly sneezed turning all the moisture on her body to snow. Soon after, Big Mac placed a bucket full of milk in front of Winter and blushed as she lapped it up. Her eyes widened quite surprised at how great the milk tasted. Once finished, she gave a small burp and blushed trying not to laugh as she replied, "Give my compliments to the cows."
The Apples giggled at the joke as Winter was then placed in a bed of flowers. Still, nothing has happened while Winter stood there, she began to wonder if something was going to happen. Then suddenly, the flowers rose quickly circling her in a colorful tornado. Soon enough the flowers exploded as another pony with a green coat, and a long braided blonde mane dressed in flowers came out of a portal. Everypony watched in awe as this mare stepped out and waved her mane about acting like some diva as she proclaimed, "I am the Spring Goddess of rebirth and renewal! Who has summoned me from my slumber!?"
Rainbow Dash, Granny Smith, Big Mac, Applejack, and Apple Bloom were utterly baffled and confused at what they were seeing and weren't sure how to respond. Spring looked around at the mortal ponies and soon focused her gaze on Winter, and she suddenly turned furious before raising her voice, "So, this is Winter!? I cannot believe this is the mare causing all the issues with Winter Wrap Up!?"
"What!? I’m not causing any issues!" Winter snapped back as she got up with a scowl on her face.
Spring plopped on the couch, crossed her hooves, and scoffed, "Oh yeah!? I know you messed with Rarity's nests, ruined Pinkie's icebreaking, and the snowfall has increased since you came to Ponyville!"
Winter was becoming quite angry with being accused of all of this insanity as she raised her voice more, "Who are you!?"
"I told you already I am the goddess of Spring! And I think you should leave Ponyville!" Spring exclaimed, getting quite angry.
"Leave!? As if! Ever since I got here, I’ve been told to leave, and on top of all that, I have told all of you I'm not going to stop winter wrap-up! Winter shouted back as she slammed a hoof on the ground.
Spring waved a hoof as she looked around the room and asked, "Well then why is winter still here and not wrapped up?"
Applejack scratched the back of her head. "Well, we’ve had a few hiccups with caramel eating the grass seeds, Derpy getting turned around, and Twilight going a bit crazy. Seriously though, we're gonna get going and have Winter wrapped up in no time."
Spring looked around and scoffed, "Obviously, you summoned me because winter wrap up is being delayed like usual here, and I can easily help. But still the citizens of Ponyville like wrapping up Winter without magic."
Applejack was now getting peeved as she stomped a hoof and snapped, "That's right, we don't need no magic around here we got winter wrap-up under control."
Spring turned her attention to Applejack and asked, "Then tell me… why would you have the Goddess Of Winter here? Seems counterintuitive to what you're trying to accomplish don’t you think?"
Then everypony turned to Winter then back to Applejack as she stammered. “We...um...actually, we had no idea she was a goddess..."
Everypony then turned their gaze onto Winter, who stood up quite frustrated and a fair bit embarrassed as she stomped a hoof on the floor shaking the ground. "Ok yes, I am the Goddess Of Winter! But why should that matter? I respect and love the other seasons too! But If that’s how you want it, fine... I’ll leave...
Winter soon shed a tear, turned her head, and quickly flew off as Rainbow Dash turned to Winter and shouted, "Hey, come back!" She then flew after her friend. All the while, Spring brushed her mane as she exclaimed. "As for you, Applejack, you and your ponies have a week to finish Winter wrap-up, or I'll step in. I’m seriously tired of you Ponyville ponies taking so long." She then skipped off, seeming to head to the Everfree Forest, leaving the apple family utterly speechless as to what just happened.
Back at Rainbow Dash's home, the mare slowly walked inside her house, and heard sobbing further in and saw Winter laying on her couch with tears in her eyes as she shouted, "Why is Spring such a bitch…”
Rainbow then came over quietly and plopped down next to her new friend as she responded, "I’m gonna be honest I don't know how you goddesses usually act, but yeah, she was totally a condescending bitch."
The two then sat there together for a minute before Dash nuzzled, cozied up, and laid next to Winter closely on the couch for a little while before raising her head and asking softly, "So…feeling better?"
Winter sighed and turned to Dash feeling a bit more relaxed, being able to lay with her new friend. "Yeah, but why would Spring be so pretentious and rude by accusing me of extending winter just because my name is Winter!
Rainbow Dash looked to Winter a bit nervous to ask a question and did so slowly, "So...um...are you a goddess?"
Winter paused surprised and blushed then looked down. "Yes... I'm a goddess, but… I would never want to stop Winter-Wrap-Up. I did cause a few pranks earlier, but I don’t mean to ruin your efforts...
Rainbow turned and stared into Winter's eyes before responding, "I never once for a second thought you were going to ruin our efforts, and I don't care if you're a goddess or a spirit. Winter I… I like you…"
Winter’s cheeks flushed pink before she responding, "A-as a friend?"
Rainbow became all squirmy being quite nervous and embarrassed as she whispered, "Maybe... I’m starting to like you a bit more than that…"
Winter blushed red as her eyes widened at Rainbow revealing this feeling despite the two pegasi only knowing each other for about two days," Rainbow… ar-are you sure? Are you really sure?"
Rainbow slowly nodded as she then leaned in close and responded curiously, "Yeah… and I hope it's not weird, but I was hoping to see if maybe after Winter wrap-up you’d wanna stick around? I'm sure we can find something for you to do here. Hell, you never know, we may need some snow in summer."
Winter flashed her wings, feeling excited and happy as she responded, "Of course! But.. we need to get Winter wrap-up fixed up and prove that I'm not trying to hinder it."
"Yeah! Heck, even Twilight, got her shit together and started help organize it all. So let's see what you can do!" Rainbow Dash responded back, trying to reassure Winter's feelings.
Winter seemed to feel a lot better, but she was also kind of sleepy from all the pie and milk and gave a yawn as she mumbled, "Hey.. um, I'm actually kinda tired...w...would it be ok if we snuggle together?"
"Sure! No problem!" Rainbow exclaimed, being quite excited as her cheeks flushed pink. The two pegasi then fluttered over to Rainbow's bed and plopped onto the mattress then began to snuggle under the covers as they draped their wings over each other slowly falling into a deep sleep.
Winter woke up early the next day to see Rainbow sleeping peacefully next to her. She gave the daredevil mare a sweet but subtle smile and kissed her on the nose before leaving and flying off to the fields of Ponyville. Winter's eyes lit up in astonishment as she witnessed the snowfall and looked across the snowfields, forming an untouched yet elegant white blanket covering everything in sight. The white-coated mare landed down on a nearby snowbank and sat there looking quite depressed, unsure how she could help Ponyville get Winter Wrap Up finished in a week. The pegasus watched the snowfall pilling around her, almost like a glooming rainfall as she thought over what Spring said to her.
She was there for sometime before Rainbow Dash spotted and gently flew over to her new friend with a warm smile and asked, "Hey, you feeling ok?"
Winter turned to Rainbow Dash with a light smile as she spoke gently, "Hey, I think I'm going to go... Spring might be right about all this... seriously, I can come back after winter wrap-up; it won't be that big of a deal."
The daredevil mare stomped a hoof into the snow, sending clumps all over the place, and snapped, "No, you're not leaving, we're going to show that Spring jerk that you're not trying to extend winter and we're going to start getting winter wrapped up come on!"
Winter gave her friend a smile seeing how determined she was to make her stay in Ponyville, and asked, "Are you sure? Do you think I can help?"
Rainbow moved in front of the small mare and pointed a hoof at her giving off a serious expression. "You're the Goddess Of Winter. So I bet you have a lot of knowledge to help end winter, right?"
The goddess's eyes lit up as the mare raised her wings and exclaimed, "Ok, ok, you win... You're right. Now that I think about it, I could help Twilight organize some plans for Winter Wrap-Up!" She cheered happily, throwing a hug over Dash and nuzzled the mare's mane and squealed, "Thanks, Dashy you're the best!"
The daredevil mare got squeamish as her face turned a beat red as she squeaked, "Why don't we get going and see Twilight I bet she can help."
Winter stepped back, and she flapped her wings up with that glint in her eyes. "Ok, let's go!" She said with a joyful smile.
Rainbow squeaked as Winter took hold of her hoof and thrust her into the air before flying across the sky, causing the mare's eyes to grow wide from the excitement and felt a bit squeamish having her crush hold hooves with her as they flew around in public.
The mare's face turned a bright red as her hoof was latched to Winter's. She could have easily pulled away but just continued flying beside her new friend regardless.
Twilight and the two pegasi were now all sitting around the library drinking hot cocoa and eating various pastries in the middle of the library. The violet coated mare was utterly baffled and blinked rapidly as she sat down and heard Rainbow Dash and Winter talk about the situation. After finishing her hot cocoa, the mare tapped a hoof to her chin. "Yes, I see…so let me get this straight...Winter, you're the goddess of winter itself?."
The nervous pegasus gave a nod and sipped her hot cocoa before she responded, "Yes."
Twilight gulped as she asked, "Can you prove you're the goddess of winter?"
The mare hesitated, being quite nervous about displaying her powers, the goddess slowly lifted her wings and began to form snowfall out of thin air all around her effortlessly then started to swirl each flake in a sphere-like shape before letting it explode gently fall to the ground around them. Twilight and Rainbow Dash both stared in awe seeing the snowflakes form from nothing and dance around, each one a unique and well-designed piece of art. The small mare sat there, speechless seeing the ground was now covered in a little blanket of snow. Twilight then got up excitedly and asked. "Do something else!?"
Winter cheeks flushed pink being quite happy to see other ponies enjoy her work before smiling and nodding, "Oh, um sure." Twilight then suddenly felt her mug full of hot cocoa start to feel cold in her hooves and gasped, looking down to see the brown liquid frozen over.
She flipped it over and shook it about in her magic and was utterly baffled. "I cannot believe this! You're the goddess of winter!"
"Yes, but please try not to blurt it out in public." The white-coated mare looked about feeling nervous about not wanting everypony in Ponyville to know she was a goddess.
The violet coated unicorn plopped down wholly bewildered." However, having the goddess of winter using magic to help with Winter Wrap-Up would go against the rules the ponies of Ponyville have laid down."
"But I won't need my magic… If what I heard about you taking charge of the whole thing is true, right?" Winter asked as she took another mug of cocoa and began sipping from her mug.
Twilight nodded as the goddess continued to explain, "I may not be able to use magic, but I know everything about winter, including the best way the ponies can plow snow, how to assist in icebreaking, I know which animals should be woken up first from hibernation, I have a good understanding of birds and their migration patterns. Plus, I can tell you where to plant the grass seeds. I know a lot about this stuff seeing as I've been able to control winter for quite some time."
Twilight eyed her, still not believing that this pegasus was a goddess, and responded, "Ok...you can assist with my plans, but I'm still a bit suspicious about you being a goddess; there's only been myths and legends. But there's never been any credible evidence of you existing."
Winter blushed as she sipped her "cooled" hot cocoa and whispered, "To be fair...I've been nervous about revealing myself to your race from the beginning. I wasn't sure how you would take it..."
Twilight gave a deep sigh. "Well, I don't think you're lying; it's just a lot to take in...goddesses of winter and spring fighting here right in Ponyville? Hopefully, Autumn and Summer stay out of it."
Winter snickered as she waved a hoof. "They wouldn't get involved; this has nothing to do with them. Besides, I feel I owe it to you all to stay here and help with winter wrap-up...
Twilight nodded, seeing Rainbow Dash nuzzle into Winter; the two were becoming more than just friends from the looks of it. The mare asked, "Ok, could you start by assisting me with these plans? There's a lot going on with Winter Wrap-up I need help with."
Winter gave a nod as she flew over next to Twilight before discussing and talking about winter wrap-up and the best solutions to each portion of it. Rainbow Dash sat back, sipping her hot cocoa, watching Winter getting excited and blabbing about interesting facts involving winter, and Twilight ate it up. She looked so adorable with her excited expressions, her wings flapping, and her rump-shaking about which forced a smile on Rainbow's face as she watched for quite some time.
Twilight and Winter went over the plans and have created a road map over the next few days on Winter Wrap-up. The violet mare rolled up the plans and plopped them in a saddlebag. "I think that works! We're going to knock this out in no time!"
Winter's face lit up, getting quite excited about this feeling, unusually happy bouncing up and down. "Thanks so much for letting me help!" She said, smiling innocently.
Rainbow, who was taking a nap, slowly woke up as she yawned and stretched her hooves or wings from either side of her. "It's about time! You two have been going at it for hours!"
Twilight turned quite surprised that it was now late. "Well, it's getting late, why don't you two just stay for the night?"
Winter blushed as her cheeks flushed red as she asked, "Are you sure? I don't wanna cause trouble."
"Not at all! I would love a sleepover!" The mare exclaimed, clapping her hooves together.
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Ugh? I heard about your sleepover with Rarity and Applejack. I'm not doing any of that girly stuff?! You're out of your mind!"
Winter looked over and grabbed Rainbow Dash's hooves and exclaimed, "Oh, come on! Let's have some fun together, you and me!"
Rainbow groaned as she rolled her eyes; she really didn't want to do this but seeing Winter's excited face and the thought of being with her, she relented and grumbled, "Fine..."
Winter clapped her hooves together and hugged Rainbow Dash tightly as she bounced around like an excited filly squealing out loud. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
The blue-coated mare stood there wholly baffled as her cheeks flushed pink and hugged Winter back before the two nuzzled each other.
The daredevil pegasus was enduring the most embarrassing day of her life as Twilight rubbed a green mud mask on her friend's face making sure it was well applied. Rainbow Dash looked at a mirror and was quite horrified to see that her mane and tail were twirled up in curlers. It was beyond embarrassing forcing the pegasi's face to turn red at the sight of it. The mare then turned to see Winter's mane and tail were curled up in curls with a green mud mask plastered on her face.
"Oooo! This mask feels so nice and weird on my face!" The white-coated pegasus squealed as she kicked about laughing.
Twilight blushed, feeling quite happy and embarrassed, seeing Winter so happy and explained, "Yeah, I learned about it from my friend Rarity."
The purple coated mare then sat down with them as she clapped her hooves. "It's now time for truth or dare."
Winter giggled excitedly as Rainbow stood there and turned to her with a smirk. "Ok, you go first, since you wanted this whole sleepover so bad."
The blue maned pegasus held a hoof to her chin and then exclaimed, "Oh ok, um Rainbow truth or dare?"
The daredevil pegasus sighed, crossing her hooves across her chest, being quite irritated about everything and snapped, "Truth, please."
Winter tapped a hoof to her chin and whispered, "Ok.. umm.., Rainbow...do...do you think I'm cute?"
Rainbow's face turned a bright red as she stammered, "Y...yeah, of course."
The mare eeped and kicked her hooves, getting all squeamish as Twilight rolled on the ground laughing out loud. Rainbow Dash turned to the violet unicorn with a smirk and asked, "Ok, truth or dare."
Twilight tapped a hoof to her chin as she thought it over for a few seconds and snapped, "Dare."
The blue-coated mare smirked as she sat back with her hooves crossed across her chest. "Ok, Twilight, I want you to get dressed in that big poofy fru fru dress Rarity made Applejack wear!"
The violet unicorn groaned, but she did as Rainbow asked then stomped upstairs, and Winter being quite confused, whispered, "Wait... what? Dress?"
The dark blue coated mare leaned in and whispered, "You'll see soon enough."
The two mares looked upwards, and they both gasped upon seeing Twilight walking downstairs wearing the frilly blue fru-fru dress lined with pink frills and the embarrassing princess cone hat plopped on her head. Both Winter and Rainbow couldn't help it as both mares burst into rancorous laughter.
"Ok, that's enough!" Twilight's face turned a deep red as she threw the dress off her body and plopped down with a cute pout on her face. The violet mare then turned towards Winter and snapped, "Truth or dare?"
The mare blushed, knowing that Twilight had a lot of questions and responded, "Truth."
Twilight, who was quite curious about Winter and wanting to know more, decided to ask, "Ok, Winter, how old are you?"
"Oh, um… let’s see… I believe it’s something like ten thousand six hundred and eighty-five now." The mare whispered before hiding her wings over her face making both mares jaws drop in complete disbelief.
Rainbow face dropped as she couldn't believe she was that old considering she looked only eight-teen. "Ok...Twilight truth or dare?"
Twilight looked down with a glare and, still angry at Rainbow Dash, snapped, "I'll do truth this time."
"Ok, how bad was it when you tried ice skating." Rainbow snickered behind a hoof.
Twilight stomped about, not sure if she wanted to share her story and stammered, "I...I did alright for a bit until I skated right into a snowbank..." The ponies burst into laughter again as the violet mare turned to Rainbow with her cheeks flushed pink and asked, "Ok, your turn, truth or dare?"
Rainbow Dash sighed as she sat back and decided to let Twilight have a chance to get back at her and snapped, "Alright, I'll give you a chance to get back at me. I choose dare."
"Alright, I dare you...to kiss Winter!" Twilight snickered behind a hoof as Winter squeaked and Rainbow's face turned a pure shade of red. "Hey! You can't do that!"
Twilight crossed her hooves with a triumphant smirk. "Of course, I can! According to the rules of Truth or Dare, you have to do whatever I say."
The daredevil mare groaned as she turned to face Winter, whose face was a deep shade of pink. Rainbow was now quite nervous and stammered, "Yo..you don't ha..have to do this!"
Winter hid her face behind her hooves, feeling quite nervous with her heart beating fast in her chest and squeaked, "I… I don’t want to break the rules s-so I don’t m..mind. "
Rainbow gulped as she slowly closed in on Winter's face and leaned in landing a kiss on the mare's lips. Winter’s mind, body, and soul exploded in passion as she made out with her friend in front of Twilight, yet seemed calm and locked into the trade of tongue loving every second until the light began to strangely fade before she slowly blacked out...
Chapter Five: The Showdown Between Spring & Winter
Rainbow Dash was having a nice relaxing nap sleeping soundly one early morning. The sun slowly raised through the sky and sent beams of light through the window. The daredevil pegasus was sleeping soundly in her bed all snuggled up. She was loving her relaxing morning and out of nowhere, the mare cried out in surprise as her friend Winter burst through the door and cheered. “Rainbow Dash you have to see this!”
The daredevil mare groaned as she rubbed her head with a hoof not liking being woken up so early. “Huh!? What’s going on!?”
Winter flew right next over to Rainbow Dash’s bed and gave her friend a boop on her nose. “Guess what happened!?”
“What!? Just tell me what's going on?” the daredevil pegasus asked as she twitched her nose now quite curious and a bit annoyed by Winter’s antics.
The light blue coated mare took her friend by the hoof raising her wings to their full glory as she lifted Rainbow Dash into the air as she raised her wings, the pegasus threw her hooves in the air and exclaimed, “I have officially ended winter! Spring has officially arrived!”
Rainbow was now wide awake and she had this gleam in her eyes as she shouted. “No way! Show me!”
Winter took Rainbow Dash by the hoof and then sped out into the air and headed across Ponyville. The blue coated mare was in complete awe at what she saw. The flowers were blooming, little bunnies were hopping around, the trees were in full bloom spreading their pollen all over, a lovely spring breeze blew through ruffling through their feathers along with their manes being blown about. Rainbow looked around aghast at what she saw it was if winter had completely vanished overnight. They were making progress with winter wrap-up but this was beyond anything she could’ve imagined and stammered, “Winter...you actually wrapped up winter!?”
“Well it wasn’t just me everypony helped but yes I sped things up.” The fluffy light blue coated mare whispered with a blush growing on her cheeks feeling nervous getting so much attention.
Rainbow turned around and hugged her friend tightly. “This means you beat Spring’s stupid test and your going to stay here right!?””
“Yeah! Now we need to find Spring and shove it in her face!” Winter squealed, getting all excited as she flew off with Rainbow Dash towards the Everfree Forest where deer, bunnies, bears, skunks, and all kinds of animals were settling in a vast field full of flowers and bunnies. Spring was sitting in the meadow with a smug grin on her face sipping a cup of tea from a flower. She scoffed upon seeing Winter fly over. “So you here to gloat? You think you passed my test?”
Winter was quite furious and fed up with Spring’s antics as she stomped over and snapped, “yeah I did! As you see Twilight and I have cleared winter from Ponyville and I didn’t extend it and respected your season.”
Spring rose up and followed Winter through the streets of Ponyville as the green pegasus looked over the town. The goddess checked through bushes and flowers she inspected the animals from the birds to the bunnies bouncing about. She flew over through the clouds and scanned the ground below. The green coated mare then landed across from the goddess of winter herself as she plopped a clump of snow on the ground right in front of her rival. “Well you did good enough but I found quite a good amount of snow.”
“So what!? Snow clumps are natural during the early spring so what?” Winter snapped as she stomped a hoof on the ground with an angry look on her face.
Spring then rose in the air and spread her wings out and proclaimed, “ponies of Ponyville! Please come forward!”
The many ponies around came forward with confused looks and were stunned at seeing the two goddesses squaring off in the middle of Ponyville.
Spring stomped forward as she pointed a hoof right at Winter. “This mare should not be here! You ponies did a decent job bringing in spring but she has obviously sabotaged your efforts.”
She then pointed a hoof back at Winter threateningly. “This goddess needs to leave! She shouldn’t be allowed to stay and go back to her dimension so i’ll leave the option to you. Now you can decide to risk having a year long winter or simply have her go back to the dimension where she belongs.” Spring then sent a bunch of flowers like bullets flying right at Winter who dodged the attack and turned to face her rival.
Winter was now poised as she bent low and raised her wings then shouted, “that's it! I’m no longer going to let you push me around!”
The light blue coated mare raised her wings and sent a flurry of snow started to pour down from the sky and the mare glared at Spring as she growled, “you can’t stop me from staying here!”
Winter flew right at Spring and soon they were throwing blasts of air at each other with Winter smacking Spring with a big clump of snow and falling towards the ground she then ducked under the pegasus and threw a bunch flowers at her making her cough and gag. She landed into a bed of flowers and looked up to see Spring flying in the air, her eyes full of hatred as she summoned a storm cloud and started sending a torrent of rain. Winter quickly summoned a cloud and sent a flurry of snow to combat the torrent of rain. The light blue coated mare then jumped backwards and created a shield of ice as the rain turned to hail smacking against the ice shield.
Spring however took advantage and flew around the mare and was summoning a wave of flowers and sent it at Winter who tried to summon another ice shield in time to block it and then sent a wave of snow at Spring. Rainbow Dash then suddenly flew through the air and slamming down on the ground blasting the snow and flowers away shouting, “Enough!”
Rainbow Dash was seething as she turned her attention to Spring. “You need to get the buck out of here! Winter has done nothing wrong and has done a lot in getting winter wrapped up!”
Spring turned a hoof and pointed out the snow and ice covering Ponyville and explained, “wasn’t this Winter’s doing? I mean are you mortals seriously going to defend her after this?”
Applejack stomped over standing in front of Winter feeling guilty for her and snapped, “we all saw you attack Winter first she was just defending herself.”
Big Macintosh stomped forward and gave a nod. “Ey’yup.”
Many other ponies all together slowly came forward in front of Winter with the pegasus having tears now streaming down her face seeing so many ponies were defending her and it was making her feel so unworthy of their affection. Spring reared her head up looking furious at the ponies now all surrounding Winter in defiance of her and she flew into the air and shouted. “Fine! I'm leaving now you can enjoy your eternal winter if you wish and I won’t come back to help you!” Spring then raised her wings and flew off through a portal in the sky.
Winter was standing there looking down with a look of worry as she came forward. “I...I’m sorry for causing this mess I can clean it up.”
The mare raised her wings and flapped them slowly as the snow and ice she created slowly melted into the ground and the ponies around her clapped and cheered.
She was slowly fluttered down the ground and the ponies continued clapping and clopping their hooves. Applejack bowed, “I'm so sorry Winter, this is all my fault. I caused this entire battle with Spring and ya didn’t do anything wrong.”
“It's fine Applejack you already apologized and I accepted it.” Winter replied as she nuzzled her and then Rainbow Dash fluttered over with her eyes glowing as she exclaimed, “Wow you were freaking awesome taking on Spring!”
“Sorry about that I got carried away.” Winter whispered feeling a bit unsure about the events that occurred and Rainbow nuzzled her friend. The daredevil was starting to feel something rise inside her and whispered, “Come on let’s get out of here.”
The daredevil mare nodded as they flew off and soon the ponies dissipated to enjoy the first day of spring.
Rainbow Dash flew with Winter back to her house and as they came through the front door the goddess of winter looked so exhausted from her battle and slowly trotted through Rainbow’s house to the bedroom and plopped onto the bed in a heap of exhaustion. The blue coated pegasus turned to her friend and joked. “So...today didn’t turn out how you expected?”
Winter laughed as she laid down on the bed looking upwards at the ceiling feeling so tired but relieved. “My goodness i'm exhausted from all of that now I just want to sleep for the rest of the day.”
Rainbow snickered as she snuggled into bed with her mare friend and nuzzled her as she got closed to her and whispered. “I know how you feel, let's just take a nap together?”
The blue coated pegasus nuzzled into Winter as she drifted over her wings over Rainbow Dash and they looked into each other’s eyes. The daredevil pegasus gave a deep sigh. “So...you wana try this marefriend thing now that you can stay in Ponyville?”
“Yeah why not? I think I might stay here for awhile if that’s ok with you?” Winter whispered back as she nuzzled her now official marefriend.
Rainbow gulped as her cheeks grew pink as that strange feeling came over her starting to make her shiver. “I...I can’t believe that you want to actually do this...but...um...do...do you wana have se-”
Winter turned her friend over on the bed as she gazed down at Rainbow Dash. “let’s do it, let’s celebrate spring!”
The two mares nuzzled each other and slowly folded their wings over their bodies as they snuggled under the sheets as the lights dimmed around them.
