Chapter - 1: Search for the Portal

View Online

In the town of Ponyville, a large tree stands at the edge of town tall over all other houses and trees around. It was unlike any of the other trees around, as this one shined like the crystals it was made of. Resting at the top of its branches rest a purple castle with a star.

This was known as the Castle of Friendship, and the ponies that reigns in this castle is not one or two, but six. The bearers of the Element of Harmony.

The Element of Laughter, Pinkie Pie.
The Element of Loyalty, Rainbow Dash.
The Element of Honesty, Applejack.
The Element of Generosity, Rarity.
The Element of Kindness, Fluttershy.
And the Element of Friendship and Magic, Princess Twilight Sparkle.

These six ponies watches over Equestria and protects it from the dangerous threats that seeks to conquer or destroy it, facing difficult challenges along the way. One such place where a terrible threat had come from was not only from their realm, but from another. For resting in the castle’s roundtable of friendship is a mirror.

The mirror is a portal to another realm, where another version of the ponies of Equestria exists, and a friend who used to be Princess Celestia’s top student. Sunset Shimmer!

The sun was starting to set to give way to the moon in the sky, signaling the time for Twilight’s friends to call it a night and return home for the day. She watches as each of her friends left the Castle of Friendship, waving to them for a safe trip home.

I’ll see you all tomorrow then!” Twilight called out to the other as each one said their goodbyes back.

After watching them all leave, she looks down at the purple and green child dragon standing next to her looking out with droopy eyes, half closed as if they were ready to just shut on him on the spot.

Ready to call it a day Spike?” Twilight asked the dragon who started to let out a big yawn.

You know it.” Spike said with a tired voice, glad to be heading to bed.

Twilight gave a small chuckle to his eager for sleep as the two returned into the tree castle, using her magic to close the doors behind her. The two started following the normal pathway down the corridor of doors. It had never ceased to surprise Twilight how large the castle was on the inside, with many hallways and doors that leads into parts of the castle she still had yet to explore.

As the two ventured down the hallway, Spike felt something chilling slither across the ground that caused him to shiver on the spot.

What was that?!” he asked looking around nervously.

His claws being chitter away by his shaking teeth as he frantically looks around, Twilight placed a hoof on his shoulder to calm him down a bit.

Relax Spike, it was probably just the wind.” Twilight said, slowly returning her hoof back to the ground.

The sounds of a loud clatter of metal came from one of the rooms next to them, causing Spike to shudder as he leaps towards Twilight’s neck. His body shaking, causing Twilight’s jaws to bounce with the rhythm of it.

Spike!” Twilight groaned as her horn starts to glow in a magenta color which came to surround the dragon as he was removed from her neck, “Would you relax?” she asks the jittery dragon.

Relax?! Did you not just hear that?” Spike asked freaking out.

Twilight swirled her eyes at his quick to panic moment as she headed towards the door where the sound had originated from, slowly opening it to the kitchen part of the castle where another pony was using her horn’s magic to levitate pans onto the shelves.

The unicorn’s a bit smaller than Twilight, with lilac colored coat with teal and purple colored mane. Her mane had a ruffled look like she had just recently woken up from sleep, her eyes were just as well with them halve drooped and expressionless as she finishes to put away the pans.

What are you doing in here Starlight?” Twilight asked catching the unicorn by surprised, she looks over at the princess who had come into the kitchen without her knowing.

I was just getting something to drink, and accidentally knocked some stuff.” Starlight said giving a sleepy smile to the alicorn as she levitated a mug with hot cocoa up next to her in a light cyan glow. She let out a yawn as she raised a hoof to cover, “I need to get back to my studies.” Leaving the two.

Twilight looked down at Spike with a smile, “See Spike, there is nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I guess your right.” He said giving a swipe against the brow with a swooshing sound, “That almost gave me a heart attack.

Almost?” Twilight asked with a smug as the two returned their journey back to their room for the night.

A sheepish chuckle coming from Spike as he hesitantly tried to ignore that part, the two unaware of another shadow against the wall in the form of a pony that had no counterpart to cast from. It glanced around a moment before soon galloping away against the wall out of the room is was left alone in.

It ran through the hallway as it kept seeping through the bottom of the door frames to glance at each room as if it were looking for something.

Where is it?’ the shadowy creature thought as it continued to search through each of the doors.

It had soon came to a room with a large round table in the center with surrounding it seven chairs made of a rock substance, on six heads of the throne are markings of balloons, diamonds, apples, butterflies, lightning cloud, and a big star around five little stars. The last of which was next to the one with the star, but smaller from the rest and had no marking on the head of it.

In the corner of the room was what the creature was looking for, a mirror attached to a contraption of some sort, but it had not bothered the shadowy creature as its formless shape moved towards the thing.

This is it, but what is it connected too?

Removing themselves from the shadow on the wall, taking on a physical form of a normal sized grown pony with wings. Their body is transparent like a shadow and eyes glowing a blazing solid red being the only clear about them. Their mane is short raggedy with three stand peaking higher at the forehead, the tail laying flat down to their knee. Around their neck is a yellow bandana with a red half of a sun and another red swirl of a circle on the other side of it.

He raised a hoof up towards the bandana that hanged around and gently caressed it before returning his attention back to the mirror.

I thought I had lost you when the mirror was not in the Crystal Empire,” he let out a deep sigh, “wish that Celestia would stop moving you.” He said as he approaches up next to the mirror that swirled the color of purple and pink.

Another year without you, I wish I could see you again.” He said placing a hoof onto the mirror’s glass expecting nothing to had happen when doing so. To see it starts to sink into the swirling portal.

He quickly pulled his hoof back from the mirror in a total shock, ‘I was able to pass through!’ he thought in amazed at what had just happened. The shocked look soon became a smile at the thought of being able to cross into this other world.

He was ready to enter, to leave the world of Equestria behind him and into the other world that this mirror would take him. Slowly seeping one of his leg through the portal before pausing as the light in the room he is in came on.

You’re certain that you left the scroll in here?” A voice spoke out cutting his attention from the mirror to where it had come from, seeing the purple alicorn with her dragon companion entering the room.

I’m positive I left it in here.

The two soon took notice of somepony hanging around the portal into the other world as Twilight quickly shot a glance at the shadow pony.

What are you doing in the castle!?” she shouted out at him unleashing her magic on the creature to pull him away from the portal. But it couldn’t grip onto him.

He returned his attention back to the portal and quickly jumped through, leaving the castle and the two in a surprised state of what had just happened.

Spike started getting jittery at the transparency of the creature that was like a ghost; Twilight on the other hoof looked on at what it was that had crossed into the mirror and how it got in in the first place.

And this was going to be a matter that would require her to enter into the Human World.

Chapter - 2: Escape

??? POV
Darkness; It was the only thing I had ever known before I met her. Loneliness; That was the only purpose I had believed to exist before I befriended her. Remembering the moment that fleeted like a flickering flame. It was that one faithful night when I watched her disappeared before my very sight, to a place where I could never go.

A small golden coat filly with flaming color mane running through the castle’s corridor on a full moon night, “Why did I go and do that?” she spoke out, to an onlooker; they would think she was going insane to talk to herself.

Her shadow that was reflected by the moon’s light through the castle’s window revealed of not a Unicorn like one would expect, but with wings stretched out as it ran with her of a Pegasus. “What are you going to do now? Celestia would have all of Equestria looking for you.

She looked over at me with worriedness in her eyes, obviously concern for this matter as well. Princess Celestia was respected and revered by all the ponies of Equestria. And Sunset had went and defied her, “What am I going to do Nightcast?” she asked.

I questioned in my mind what I could do to help her, we could always be on the run from Celestia and be together forever, or we could hope for the best of her mercy and be sent to a dungeon. But I would not want to see Sunset trapped in the darkness like I was; she deserved to shine. There was only one way to save her from Celestia’s wrath while keeping her from hiding in fear, “I have an idea.” I said with a hint of dread in my voice.

Sunset looked over at me curiously, waiting for the idea I may have, “If we can make her believe that it was my action over you, Celestia would have no doubt in you and you’d be back in her grace again.

I am a Nightmare, a creature born from Disharmony and the magic that lingers around. We are feared for our desire in manipulating ponies so we can feed off of their negativity. I was aware that Celestia would know of our existence, especially after the event of Nightmare Moon who fed off of the Princess Luna’s jealousy.

Sunset slowly came to a halt in her escape, it had started to fill my empty heart with dread that she was about to cast me aside, but if it were for her; I would accept my fate as such. “Don’t ever suggest such a thing!” she shouted at me. I was stunned to see tears streaming down from her eyes, she looked at me like someone close had just died. “You’re my first real friend, no one else would even bother look at me. How could you suggest I’d abandon you after you stuck by my side?

I fell dead silent to what she had just said, it would be a lie if I said that I wasn’t feeling joyous of such thing. But it still left me questioning how I could help her, “Sorry, we can think of something together!” I said with assurance. I was not going to leave her stranded with this problem on her own, and it was clear she wasn’t going to abandon me either.

She smiled brightly; a moment I would had loved to have last longer before one of the guards that were in pursuit of Sunset spoke not far down the corridor, “She should be somewhere around here!” we had to resume our marathon of seeing how long we could outrun the royal guards. The sound of metal armor clashing against one another echoed down the hall, signaling their location.

I got an idea!” I called out to Sunset which grabbed her attention.

Changing my form to match that of the Unicorn I was next to, my short mane into long and wavy; my wings faded and in place a horn appeared on my forehead, “What are you doing?” she asked me, seeing me take a shadow form of her.

I hadn’t given an answer, rather; I darted into a different direction in hope of the guards noticing me. It was successful as one of them shouted out to signal the others of his position, “I found her! She is going towards the royal garden!

It was fun to say the least in leading the guards towards the garden. I had gotten the chance to memorize my way around this castle after spending three years with Sunset who was Celestia’s pupil. The guards were the most enjoyment, making them hear strange noises, seeing shadows, or even opening and closing doors. This may be the last time I get to enjoy this kind of entertainment, but I know wherever me and Sunset go, we would have just as much fun. Maybe even more!

After twelve of them had raced out into the royal guarded, I closed the door and locked them so that they could not resume their pursuit of Sunset. I didn’t worry about them trapped in there forever since I knew one of the maids would find them in the morning while going to water the flowers.

Returning my attention to where she would have gone, I followed down the corridors again to reach up with Sunset. It hadn’t taken long before I found her standing just moments away from a mirror stand.

Isn’t this. . .” I spoke, she obviously wasn’t aware I had caught up to her as she nearly jumped out of her skin as she turned around to find a pony that was transparent like a shadow with wings outstretched and blazing red eyes. Her expression lightened up when she realized it was me.

The mirror into another world. Princess Celestia was strictly against me being here, but it may be our way out of this mess.” Sunset said, a doubt in her voice at the obvious thought of not only running away from Celestia, who she had admired and praised since who knows when, but also disobeying her again.

I could see the both of us in the mirror, “What if the portal isn’t open? She did say that it only opens every thirty moons! What if it hasn’t come yet?” I spoke with doubts of my own, this could be a dead end for us, and we would be captured by the Princess.

Only one way to find out.” Sunset answered with a hesitant in her voice as she turns her attention back onto the mirror. Moving ever closer until she was nearly touching the surface with her muzzle. She gazed at her reflection that was staring right back at her, as if it were asking her if this was what she was wanting for herself.

She gave a deep breath before closing her eyes, taking one step forward; she was half expecting for the mirror to be a solid surface that prevented her hoof from moving forward only for it to feel like something liquid were wrapping itself around it instead.

Opening her eyes to find that her right hoof was nearly half merged in with the mirror. I looked on with amazement at what was happening, we would be venturing together to a whole unknown world to us. She looked over towards me, as if making sure I was still by her side for this moment, “See you on the other side.” She said before putting the rest of her body in through the portal.

I watched as she vanished, sunk into the mirror as the surface rippled like a pond that was disturbed. “Guess it’s my-“ I started to say as I approach the mirror next, only for the sound of someone not far from the other side of the door speaking out.

Check the storage room! She might have gone into there!

I had no time to think as I had to cross over as well, rushing towards the mirror to expect myself to flow on through like she had only to crash into the hard surface. My eyes fell on to the reflection of myself smashed against the mirror, Why am I not able to go through?

-Present-

I slowly started to open my eyes; coming into view was a scenery I had never seen before. I found myself to be outside, and for some reason the air around me had started to feel strange, as if the magic is weak; almost to the point of suffocating like a lack of air.

Raising a hoof towards my chest to make sure I was breathing fine; it had taken a moment to register in my brain the odd feel my body gave when placing it against my hoof. Looking down to see that my body had changed from the transparent look of a pony to a solid cyan color skin tone and a form I had never seen before where my hoof was to be.

I was wearing a gray color t-shirt with a picture of golden lock and blue jean. Around my arms are black bands made of fabric, around my neck is the bandana I held dear of yellow with a red half sun on it, and I was wearing white with black streak tennis shoes. Questionably, I wanted to scream out at the strange creature I had taken the shape of. What am I? It felt like hundreds of questions started to swarm my mind as I made sense of what was happening.

Questions being what did I look like? What is this thing called which I had turned into? Why did I turn into this thing? There were others around, these creatures that were walking the street on two legs?

It was something I was uncommon with, something I needed an answer to. Taking notice that it was night time, at least I could hide under the veil of the night and search for answers to what was happening and hopefully find Sunset.

I closed my eyes to ready to merge into the shadows, reaching out towards the emptiness as I feel myself merging through from physical to a reflective image of the light. Letting myself slowly be engulfed into the darkness.

Opening my eyes to see myself in the world of shadow; only to find I had not moved from the spot I was moment ago. I didn’t become a shadow, I was still made of flesh, trying to figure what had gone wrong.

Did I do something wrong? That couldn’t be it, I had done this since the day I was born. I decided to give it another swirl, expecting for better result; but it was only the same result.

Come on! Why can’t I go into the shadows?” I questioned out to myself, with no answer to it given.

Was there something new to this world that prevented me from doing so? Did it by chance change on how I could cross? Or was I no longer capable of going into the shadow? At the moment, it did not matter. I had to get out before someone sees me, I didn’t want to deal with some random bystander while I had no knowledge of this world.

Don’t worry Sunset, I will find you when I understand this world.” I said as I ran on all four off into the distance, I had not want to move far away from the portal; if she wound up coming out here as well, she might be close by waiting for me.

No one’s POV

A few moments after Nightcast had ran off away from the portal, it had started to shine again as a purple haired girl came crashing through the base of the Wonderbolt’s statue. She came falling to the ground with a loud thud.

UHG! She grunted from the pain as she starts to raise her face from the ground, “Starlight’s so going to get it when I get back!” she spoke in disapproving under her breath. The portal started to light up again as a dog now came flying through.

He crashes on top of her, sending her head back into the ground beneath her. She gave another groan as she quickly raised herself up knocking the purple coated dog off her head. “Sorry Twilight.” The dog said apologetically.

Twilight’s appearance was a mess to say the lease, her face was smudged from the fall and her hair looked as if she had gone hiking, minus the sticks and leaves. “It’s alright Spike, I’m just glad you came.” Twilight said to the dog.

Looking around to try and find the mysterious stallion that had moments ago also came through the mirror, only to find that they were the only one who had not belonged here was anywhere around the portal.

She gave a depressing sigh, “Of course it wasn’t going to be easy finding him!” this was obviously going to be something of a challenge, trying to find a human that didn’t belong in this world was like finding a needle in the hay stack. She was going to need her other friends’ help; but because it was night time, they would be asleep.

Twilight was going to need to wait till morning to get them to help, for now she was going to need to find a place to rest before the sun comes up. Walking up towards the school building, she tried to open it up only to find that it was locked.

Her idea of spending another night in the Library was ruined, something she had done the first day she had come to this world. The only other choice she was left with now was to visit Pinkie Pie’s house and hopefully she would help her in need.

Having left towards where she remembered where Pinkie lives, luckily for her, it was within walking distance from the school. Spike followed close by her side as the two walks towards the Pie’s resident, one question coming to Twilight as she looks up at the moon, ‘What could that thing be planning to do in this world?

Chapter - 3: A Past

View Online

Standing in the dim light hallway confusedly is a lone human girl with a swirling red and yellow hair as she looked at the place she found herself to be in. Questioning how she had got here, a place that looked to be familiar, but she could not put a finger to it why.

Getting a better view through the glass pane that shone the moon’s light through, her eyes widen in both wonder and confounded. Wondering why she was back in the only place she wished to be as far away from as possible, the Canterlot Castle.

She looked up at the moon which looked to appear full; but with a closer glance, there was just a sliver of shadow on the edge of the right side of the moon. The silhouette of an Unicorn could be seen clearly on the surface of the moon.

That was but another question she had, having heard from Twilight that the mare of the moon had been freed and the silhouette was all but gone. So then why was it there? Why was she here and why was she not a pony? Questions only grew as she tried to look around for any sign of an answer before she heard a familiar voice that ached from the back of her mind.

“Sunset Shimmer!”

She out of instinct, turned nervously towards the harsh tone of the voice to find who called out to her. Finding a pale white alicorn standing as tall as her with a flowing mane of multitude of colors, her eyes widen in awed at the glory of this pony.

She had an air of authority; her stance was without flaw as she stared harshly towards her. “Princess Celestia! What happened? Why am I here, and why am I not a po-“ her voice was shortly cut when another pony walked through her, paying the human girl no mind as if she were a ghost.

Sunset’s eyes widen in more surprise as she saw who was the pony that had walked through her like a ghost, a filly with an orange coat and red and yellow mane down to her tail. That’s me!

“Y-yes Princess?” The filly asked nervously to the alicorn that towered over her.

Celestia took notice of her nervousness as she slowly dropped her anger demeanor just enough to ease the scared filly of any fear she may have. Calming herself with a sigh before returning her attention to the filly, “Where were you Sunset Shimmer?”

Sunset watched in bewilderment as the scene playing out looked familiar to her, looking over towards her younger pony counterpart to confirm her suspicion to find what she was looking for; on the filly’s sides were what you would never expect to find on a Unicorn.

A pair of wings, though they were not feathery as any normal pony’s, for these were transparent like shadow and if it wasn’t for the lighting of the room, others may have noticed them as well. She followed the filly’s shadow that shines against the wall parallel from the window.

Instead of finding the shadow of a unicorn like one would come to expect, she saw a shadow of a pony with not a horn, but a pair of wings stretched out, there was someone else here, or rather somepony.

Nightcast!’ she thought in surprise, unaware of a small shed of tear peering through a corner of her right eye. Her attention fell back on the two ponies as they played out a scene that she could recall every moment of.

“I was in my studies” the filly and Sunset both said in unison, the filly stumbled backwards when she heard a hoof slamming into the floorboard from across her.

“Don’t lie to me!” Celestia’s voice boomed through the hallway that both Sunset had to block their ears to not have them burst. Seeing the filly’s frightful scene, Celestia calmed her rage as she regain her composure, “A guard had informed me that they saw you sneaking out.”

Sunset struggled to explain her reason for leaving the castle in the middle of the night, something that the current Sunset was aware of the reason of. The filly gave a sigh as she gave the Princess a concerned look, “Sorry, I was wanting some fresh air.”

She hoped that Celestia would buy this excuse, whether she had not wanted to try and press further and gave up questioning or her lie had managed to fool the Princess, even the current Sunset could not figure out.

Why she snuck out was because no pony would believe her if she had told them that she was wanting to soar through the skies with shadow like wings. It was something she had questioned how they even worked, being able to carry a physical creature of mass with something made of reflection of a light. But that question paled in comparison to having the chance to soar like a Pegasus or for her case, an Alicorn.

They watched as Celestia trotted towards the filly, to which she flinched back in fearful of what punishment she would receive from the Sun Goddess. Her fear was unfounded when the Princess pulled the filly in to a warm embracing hug.

“I was worry for you my faithful student. Next time, inform me if you wanted some fresh air.” She whispered softly to the filly, it felt like a motherly comfort to the filly, one that she returned with embrace.

The human Sunset looked at this achingly as she clenched her chest as if it were in pain, struggling to fight back from collapsing in tear at this. She had almost all but forgotten what it was like having a motherly figure or the feeling with it, something she had thought that she could live without knowing.

Having lived her life alone for four years after leaving Equestria behind; leaving the Princess who she thought of as a mother; and the first friend who had ever accepted her. Having remembered, she looked over to the shadow to find that it had changed from a Pegasus back to a Unicorn.

She looked confusedly at this moment, having not remembered that he had left; though she hadn’t been paying attention of him back then when she had been caught sneaking out by Celestia, but it begged the question to her of where he had gone too.

Having look around for possibly finding the shadow of her friend; she spot something that appeared unusual from what she had remembered. A picture frame of an elderly stallion with a light blue coat and grey wild mane and mustache. The plaque that reads below reads, Albert Hoovenstein.

What was unusual about this painting was that within the picture was a silhouette of a shadow pony with red eyes glaring back at her, as if it were following the human Sunset. She walked over towards it to examine it only to see it continue to keep its gaze on her.

It gave her an eerie feeling, as if the creature that was looking from through the picture. As she was reaching a hand out towards the picture, moments away from touching it, a sound of broken glass quickly pulled her attention away as she turned around towards where the sound came from.

She found not what caused the sound, but that was nothing to what she found; or rather couldn’t find. All around her, there was an empty black void; she looked around to find what happened to everything around her.

The only thing she could find was the small patch of marble like floorboard below her, turning back towards the painting to find that it had disappeared along with the rest of the room. Questions only continued to run through her mind at full speed as she tried to come to term with what was happening.

Her time questioning was drawing short as the ground below her was slowly fading from existence, fearful of falling into the dark abyss below; A pair of teal color eyes like her own appearing in the dark abyss below.

The eyes glaring back towards her felt familiar; the laughter the abyss made were similar to her own, “Thinking that you could be rid of me, but you can never be free from your Nightmares!” it spoke with a scratchy demonic voice.

Her eyes widen in realization to who it was, before having a chance to speak or react; the floor had all but disappeared enough to make her lose her footing. Causing her to stumble and fall into the dark abyss. Screaming loudly as she disappears into the distance of the darkness.

Sunset woke up, having found that she had fallen off her bunk bed completely wrapped in her blanket. Removing herself from the blanket and raising to her feet as she placed a hand on the small bump on the back of her head.

She glanced around the room for any signs of anything unusual, though she could not understand why; she felt the need to confirm that everything was as it should. Having find her bed behind her where she had just fell off; her desk to the left of her in a corner of the wall with a desk lamp and two books on top of it; her backpack hanging off the chair’s backrest; her closet on the opposite direction of the desk; next to its’ doors is her red electric guitar and a broken down sound speaker; a small shelves with a few knickknack drilled onto the wall; and hanging against her bedroom door was a single silver skeleton key.

Her eyes widen as she took notice of the key, it is a keepsake to remind her of the one who gave it to her. The design was of it was like any other skeleton key, but on it were designs put with the most care by some craftmanship.

On the shaft of it were equestrian ancient rune writings engraved into it, something which Sunset had struggled in deciphering their meaning with her limited knowledge of ancient equestrian magic. At the bow of it were a professionally design look of what seems to be a white star.

She rose the key into her hand to get a look at the old thing, she had wanted to know what this key was for and what mysteries it held; but the one who had given her this key had warned her to never let it out of her sight and to not tell anypony else of its existence.

Watching the key for a few extra minutes before her cellphone started to buzz, alerting the girl of an incoming text message. She headed towards it to glance at who could be sending her a message this early of the day, speaking of time; she looked at it curious to know for herself what time it was.

It shown in a bright white color 3:21 AM, “Great, who could be sending me a text at three-twenty in the mornin’?” she asked out to no one with a deadpan tone.

Looking to find that it was a message from Pinkie Pie; “Got great news to tell everyone at Sugar Cube Corner at 11:45. Be there for a big surprise!” and she looked confusedly at an emoji of a pink earth pony throwing confetti over her. She questioned what Pinkie had to tell them, but she was too tired to care and went to return to sleep.

She’ll find out whatever she has to tell them in the morning.

Chapter - 4: A Pie Night

View Online

Leaning against a back ally corner, a pale blue skinned male breathed heavily as he had ran a marathon through the night town, How am I out of breath? The question swam through his mind. A creature that literally had no organs was not supposed to struggle with breathing, but here he was gasping for air as if it were precious resource.

“What is this world?” he spoke under his breath as he glanced at the town’s street lights, everything seeming so strange and unusual.

Raising a hand towards his neck where his bandana rests, grasping it tightly, “Are you still alive, Sunset? And if you are, where are you?” he whispered as he lets his body slouch into a slumber. Praying to whatever deity this world worship that his best friend were alive and well before sleep had finally taken a hold of him.

Twilight and Spike had managed to arrive at a double story grey textural house with a dreary design to all but one window at the top left with a rainbow of colors and balloons around as if a party had threw up in the single room.

Standing right up against the front door, all the lights of the house were off, “What are you waiting for?” Spike asked the stilled girl who was giving a statue a run for their money.

Twilight glanced at the door nervously, as if something bad could have jumped out and attacked her at any given moment. “I can’t Spike! I mean, Pinkie is obviously sleeping, and I don’t want to disturb her.”

Spike slapped his paw to his face at Twilight’s sudden back peddle of the idea, “Come on Twi, we need a place to stay and Pinkie won’t mind lending a place. Heck, I’m sure she’d be thrilled.”

She knew that was true; Pinkie enjoyed spending time with others more than any other pony- or human in this case than she knew. Giving a sigh as she looked back at the door that looked to be made of heavier stuff than a simple wood with cheap dark grey paint. Why was she struggling to ask for Pinkie to host her for the night? Was she really scared of disturbing her? No, it is as if something were trying to force her to abandon the idea.

Their moment was soon to be interrupted by a monotone voice from behind, “hey” turning in a panic to find a dull grey girl around Twilight’s height, a dull purplish grey long hair, and light turquoise eyes. Her somber expression making her hard to read.

The two remember her being Pinkie Pie’s older sister, Maud Pie.

“Hello?” Twilight greeted back with a nervous look as if she had been caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to be doing.

Her nervousness slowly falter as the three stood in silence, slowly turning to a state of confusion as to what Maud Pie was doing. Maud raised a small boulder in her hand to give it a display to the two guest, “boulder wanted some fresh air.”

“are you wanting to see Pinkie?”

Twilight jumped at the question, “Yes!” her excited quickly fell to humble as she rephrase, “I mean, if it isn’t too much trouble that is.” Maud stood motionless at the girl, the silence making this moment feel awkward for some reason before she gave a shrug and went into her house, Twilight and Spike following behind.

The inside wasn’t much in term of interior design, though Twilight had not expected much as her last visit here. She watches as Maud made her way over towards the stairs, “boulder will let Pinkie know you’re here.”

Twilight looked as if she wanted to say something about this before a few moment a pink blur quickly rushed down the stairs and tackled the lavender girl to the ground before she could process what had happened.

“Twilight! I’m so glad you’re here! This is the best day ever!” A hyperactive girl scream whispered into the girl’s ear in excitement. “When boulder told me you were here, I was sooooooooooooooo surprised!”

The group headed towards Pinkie’s room to sleep, cause when morning comes around, they will be searching for the mysterious shadow who crossed over to this world. Something that Twilight could not help but wonder, who was that and why were they wanting to get over here? And how did they know about the portal as well, or was it just a coincident?

Standing before the Pie’s house, wearing a brown cloak as they glance towards the lit room where the Equestrian Princess were staying for the night, a hollow chuckle echoed from them as they spoke in a fiery voice, “Finally; after all these years, things are finally starting to move along. What will come of this, Latere?”
