The First Priority

View Online

Two months after Equestria was thrust into chaos, the lands have since regained peace. A new ruler is making major changes to have friendship grow stronger to near invulnerability, preventing any possible crisis situations in the land she’s now taking over. For the next month, she will have meetings with the other rulers to make the changes happen, even with the exceptions she’ll have to deal with.

In Canterlot, there’s a statue just right in front of the entrance, of the three criminals who almost took over Equestria. A Centaur who sucks out magic from other creatures, a filly with a bad, narcissistic attitude, but then there’s the last villain. During her reign over her species, she brought up an army to not only ruin a beautiful and memorable wedding, but also take over Equestria, but had failed twice. Her second plan, involving kidnapping the highest forms of authority in Equestria, failed, thanks to the, now principal of the School Of Friendship when she changed her empire for the better, forever.

After they failed by working together, they were turned into stone, never to cause havoc ever again. However when it comes to the future for the current ruler of the Changelings, he still had mixed feelings towards the queen he once took orders from.

“You want all the creatures from their lands to make more friends?” The ruler of the Changelings replied from Equestria’s ruler.

“Yes Thorax.” Twilight replied from the other side of the dinner table. “I know you’re the only ruler I’ve talked to about this, but ever since Tirek, Cozy Glow and Queen Chrysalis were turned into stone, I’ve got a feeling that Equestria isn’t the same as what it once was. Mainly the Storm King’s army causing the inhabitants of Seaquestria to hide in their underwater kingdom.”

Thorax never had the idea to have his kind come to places like Ponyville and Canterlot. Even if he was okay with Ocellus as a student, he didn’t think how much his kingdom would feel about this.

“I’m not saying this is a bad idea, I just don’t think the other rulers will approve of this.” Thorax being a bit concerned.

“Well here’s the thing Thorax. I’ve been to almost all the lands and the more I think about it, they can’t handle the dangers outside of their kingdoms. If Equestria has no more dangerous creatures, it will be more harmful than before.”

“More harmful...than before?” Thorax responded. “Like before Chrysalis had been turned into stone?”

“Yes, when you ran away during Canterlot’s wedding.”

This gave Thorax an idea he’s going to do before he leaves. “I guess that does make sense. I’ve talked to one of the rulers and they’re not afraid to send their own kind outside of their kingdom.”

“That’s right, I suggest you should talk to your kind to see if they feel the same way.”

After the meeting, as well as a delicious dinner, Thorax leaves the castle of Canterlot until he heads to the entrance. Before he heads back to his kingdom, he sees the statue of Equestria’s most dangerous criminals, but most specifically Queen Chrysalis.

He remembered how dreadful it was when she was in control of the Changeling Empire after he left on his own. When she, along with Tirek and Cozy Glow caused disasters on a massive scale, he and other creatures took justice the hard way. But after all of that, even when she left on her own, he still had something he knew his former ruler did have, but just refused to accept it. The only element she kept in constant denial due to her massive hatred to the ones she can’t stand.

The ruler didn’t say a word, other than keeping a straight face. With the amount of time he had when he became the next ruler, he gained more experiences to make his kingdom, a much better place to live.

By the time he got back to the Changeling Empire, the moon had risen in the sky, with most of his kind asleep. As he arrives inside his hive, he’s too depressed to even sleep. The idea he still has, gets to the point there’s more than seeing evil when he takes further steps.

As he’s finding his bedroom, he came across Ocellus. “Thorax?” She called upon seeing her ruler. “How was the meeting you had with Twilight?”

“It was good, but then again almost all of my meetings with her are good.” Thorax smiled despite his depression.

“What seems to be the issue?”

Thorax lowered his ears, trying to be nice to give one of his kind an answer. “It’s Chrysalis.”

“Is she coming back!?” Ocellus reacted in place until Thorax calms her down.

“No she’s not...it’s just there’s something she never could fully accept and that’s...friendship.”
Ocellus can understand Equestria’s enemies never accepted friendship, but her former ruler out of the three, feels off.

“Don’t you think it’s wrong when you think about that?”

“Mostly. I didn’t tell Twilight about it because I know she won’t approve of it. But I know there’s a way we can work this out.”

“Like...having her see what we do?”

All that Thorax did was nod as he headed to where he sleeps. “I’m going to bed now, I need more time before I do any of this, for the sake of Equestria.”

The ruler of the Changeling Kingdom left Ocellus alone with the moonlight on her. Ocellus is afraid of the next possibility if the crisis from the past returns again. She wants to stay out of it but at the same time there’s no turning back for the Changeling Empire.

“This is not going to go well.” She said to herself.

The following day, Thorax’s first priority was to head to the Crystal Empire, in order to talk to the ruler, Princess Cadance. The two walked down the crystal hall with guards standing at attention, every step of the way. After Thorax told about his future plans with Chrysalis upon entering the castle, Cadance didn’t like it.

“Thorax, not trying to be negative, but Chrysalis is very unstable the more I see her after me and Shining Armor stopped her at our wedding.” Cadance being serious. “When she attempted to take over Equestria for a second time, it was even worse when we were trapped in her kingdom.”

“Yes I understand but at the same time, she didn’t see what friendship can do for her.” Thorax replied.

“Did you see the way she rejected Starlight’s offer? While running away? Those are signs where she’ll never change, at all.”

Thorax did remember once he along with other changelings reformed. The way Chrysalis flew off with no regrets is also another sign he fears it may backfire. “Okay I can give you that.”

“And do I have to mention she made an alliance with Tirek and Cozy Glow?”

“No, that news was everywhere a few months ago.”

“Then what do you see in her that me and others don’t?”

This caused Thorax to stop walking which took the ruler by surprise. Thorax lowered his head while also closing his eyes. “She’s my former queen, even after I went behind her back.” The Changeling ruler sighed to himself. Cadance had no words to describe Thorax’s plan. “I know it’s hard to believe, but after we stopped her, I’ve kept thinking more and more about what would happen if she actually changes herself.”

The princess of the Crystal Empire never thought about Thorax’s statement, but she knew full well about his life before becoming the ruler of the Changeling Empire. “Well...if you even think of helping her somehow, I suggest you should get some help, but not your kind.”

“I know what you mean, I’ll make sure they’re far away from Chrysalis.”

“Good, and since I was mostly involved with her plans, I should also help her.”

“Thanks.”

After getting some advice from Princess Cadance, Thorax left the Crystal Empire to head to his next destination.

Thorax’s Goal Of No Turning Back

He arrived at the School Of Friendship where Starlight Glimmer is doing her daily work. Once he entered her office, he talked about his plans on reviving Chrysalis.

“Thorax, no offense, but this is a bad idea.” Starlight said. “I know you and I weren’t with Twilight and her friends but she almost plucked off Spike’s wings!”

“Yes, it’s highly unacceptable but-” Thorax responded until Starlight cut him off.

“And nearly destroyed my friends!” She placed her hooves on her desk. “So what are you trying to do?”

“I’ll get to that if you don’t cut me off!” Thorax retorted as he took a deep breath. “The point is, I think there’s a side of her that she simply refuses to let out.”

“Like reforming herself?” Starlight sitting right back on her chair.

“Yeah. I know it’s a stupid idea, but if she never rejected your offer, she could of seen something like me and the Changelings did.”

Starlight tried to think of Thorax’s positives, but she’s worried if it backfires on him. During her last encounter with Chrysalis, she failed to defeat her which led to Chrysalis and her alliance capturing her friends. Even if she succeeded at the end, she and her friend were very close to failing.

“So...what do you need from me?”

“You can try to take Chrysalis back to my kingdom after you…pull her from the statue Tirek and Cozy are...somehow and then revive her behind strong bars.”

Starlight sighed to herself but wanted to do something right for Thorax and his kingdom. It’s risky, but she can try to help.

“Okay but don’t blame me if this backfires.”

“Thank you.” The two left the school as they went to Thorax’s final destination before heading back to the Changeling Empire.

Upon returning to Canterlot, there is one more person Thorax needs for help and that is his first ever best friend. Starlight Glimmer brought a cart so she could pull Chrysalis while still in her predicament. Thorax took time to convince Twilight to allow him to release Chrysalis, even with the circumstances she isn't prepared for. For another possible war, the ruler of the Changeling Empire will take full responsibility no matter what. Thorax and Spike head outside of the castle while the dragon is fearful after what the former Changeling ruler did to him.

“Thorax, are you sure you're willing to do this?” Spike wondered. “Because if she breaks free, she might pluck my wings for real!”

“Relax, you're gonna be safe.” Thorax placed his hoof on the dragon’s head. “All you're going to do is show her what friendship really means.”

“Okay?”

“That will take a lot of time.”

Spike placed his claw on his face since he was also aware of Thorax’s plan. After his encounters with Queen Chrysalis in the past, his fourth time won’t be any better. “Are you sure you wanna go through this?”

“Yes, which is why I need all the help from our friends. Chrysalis won’t be able to handle one lesson of friendship when she’s in lockdown.”

“Wait, you're gonna put her in lockdown!?”

“Yes, so she won’t escape!” Thorax took a deep breath after the outburst. “I don’t know how long this is going to take, but please don’t give me additional pressure.”

The dragon would try to give his friend some kind of understanding and reassurance, but he decides to keep things calm, despite him being regretful for what could happen later. They arrived by the statue where Starlight is at and she’s still unsure about this.

“So...did you talk to Twilight about this?” She asked.

“Yes, he did Starlight.” Spike answered. “Let’s just try to help.”

“Starlight, place Chrysalis on the cart.” Thorax ordered as he and Spike stopped by the cart.

Starlight used a spell she can use to remove a stone from its corresponding statue. It’s one of the most unused spells any unicorn has done, especially when their enemies are in stone, after the crisis that ensued. With a spark activating, the former queen of the Changeling Empire is off of the statue, but still in stone. Starlight placed the stone on her cart with no chance to turn back now.

“I really hope you know what you're doing.” She sighed.

Thorax, Spike and Starlight arrive back to the Changeling Kingdom. It was a long hike for them to take while dealing what’s to come in their way. As they enter inside the hive, several other changelings notice their former queen being carried in their home. Even if they saved Equestria from her, they’re still aware of her presence.

“Any ruler of Equestria wouldn’t approve of this.” A light blue Changeling commented.

“If our ruler’s plan backfires, that is.” A light pink Changeling added.

Thorax and his friends head inside one of the open spots in the hive where he also put in a restricted sign for anyone to stay away. Inside, Princess Cadance was waiting with Ocellus by her side.

“Ocellus, what are you doing?” Thorax said in concern. “You're not supposed to be in here.”

“Sorry, I was just talking to Cadance.” Ocellus lowered her head.

“If this is about us releasing Chrysalis, we got everything under control.”

The ruler of the Crystal Empire made her way by Thorax upon hearing him. “As much as I tried to convince him, he may be right about Chrysalis. Now please leave.”

“It will take us hours to help and we’re just about to release her.” Starlight added.

Ocellus obeyed the orders as she left the room. “I don’t think they can do this without me.” She thought.

By the time she left, Pharynx entered inside the restricted hive. “Okay, all the changelings are informed to stay away.” He told his brother.

“Good, as my friends help her, I want you to keep an eye on her so she won’t escape.” Thorax instructed.

Starlight and Cadance put Chrysalis inside of a powerful cell and locked the door. With one of Equestria’s most wanted criminals secured in the most secure way possible, all that’s left is to reform her from her stone state.

“I still don’t know if we should do this.” Spike hiding behind Thorax.

“We are.” Thorax retorted. Without wasting a minute of time, Starlight performed another spell where she inverts what Celestria and Luna did. She shot the laser at the stone as it glows from impact. For more than ten excruciatingly long seconds, the statue itself began to move itself. After another ten seconds, Starlight stopped her spell as she collapsed on the ground, panting from the pressure and strain she caused upon herself.

A Side Of Chrysalis

View Online

Inside the cell, Thorax can see Chrysalis back to her old state but his friends are preparing themselves now that one of Equestria’s criminals have been released from their permanent punishment.

Chrysalis shot both of her eyes open in an instant and looked in her surroundings. All she can remember before she turned into stone was that she was defeated by not only Twilight and her friends, but almost all of the population of Equestria. She moans while noticing she’s behind strong bars, unable to escape.

“Uhh...what’s going on!?” She retorted while trying to get on her hooves.

Spike begins to back away until Cadance stops him. “You're going to be safe.” She whispered.

“Why am I in a cell!?” The former queen shouted.

“Enough!” Thorax shouted back.

This only caused her to hiss in rage without any freedom or revenge. “Do you know what you're doing?” Starlight replied.

Thorax didn’t respond as he made his way to her former queen. “I’m going with...no.” Spike said quietly.

The ruler of the Changeling Empire stared face to face with his former ruler, the only Changeling who hasn’t been reformed yet. At this point there’s no turning back, but he isn’t afraid anymore.

“What do you want from me!?” Chrysalis glared.

“Let’s just say an attitude adjustment is required.” Thorax being unflinched from Chrysalis’s ruthless behavior.

“Oh really? Well let me remind you that you're wasting your time!”

“That’s not it. As far as my new priorities on my mind, you're hiding something because you keep refusing to accept friendship. I don’t care what you say, you just won’t admit it.”

Chrysalis rolled her eyes when she heard the word friendship. “So what, you're gonna offer me your friendship just like how Starlight did from before?” She pointed at her enemy. “You know that friendship isn’t always a helpful solution.”

Starlight and the others looked at each other from hearing Chrysalis’s statement. They know that she’s insane after she lost her reign of domination, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t right most of the time. However this didn’t convince Thorax at all.

“You're wrong!” He shouted back. “Unlike me, you never gave friendship a chance. You never let change come to you when you stayed the same, because you always have to do it your way. But since I’m the ruler, you're not going anywhere!”

Chrysalis groaned as she sat down in her cell. Without her unlimited power from before, she had to face the fact that Equestria would stop at nothing to put her into stone again. She sighed while placing her hoof on her face. “So...what kind of attitude adjustment are you talking about?”

“Cadance.”

Upon hearing her name, the ruler of the Crystal Empire walks up to Thorax as she looks at Chrysalis. “Helping you to reform.”

“Reform? So what, you're gonna coddle me for a long time until that happens?”

“Yes…”

The unreformed changeling had no words, her body stopped without a single movement. She expected her enemies to make a lame joke but it wasn’t the case. “You’re...not making this up?”

“We never joke around.” Pharynx spoke from the other side of the cell. “Whatever you like it or not, we’re helping you regardless and you're not going anywhere.”

Thorax then turned to Spike and Starlight which was their cue to come forward. “If you really want your freedom, you have to earn it by getting reformed, not in your old state.” Starlight replied.

“Especially by not plucking off our body parts.” Spike finished.

Chrysalis would rather break out of her cell but due to how indestructible it is, she has no choice. She couldn’t believe this would ever happen to her after she failed to win over against her enemies for the final time.

“Okay, so what do you expect me to do? Play card games?” She rolled her eyes.

“Playing a simple board game doesn’t work for friendship right off the bat.” Cadance being serious while trying to be kind.

Cadance showed Chrysalis the photos her henchmen back at the Crystal Empire took where her citizens and changelings intermix with each other. It took time to make Chrysalis understand the meanings of friendship where there's no need for a thirst for vengeance.

“Every day I see ponies outside of their homes, they didn’t need an army. You may not like them, but when you take matters into your own hooves, you miss the point entirely.” Cadance replied.

“So what? I’m a Changeling and a queen. I only follow one creature and that creature is myself.” Chrysalis retorted. “If you were in my place, it wouldn’t change history at all.”

“That’s because you never felt reformation, like Thorax and the other changelings did.”

“Yeah.” Starlight walking up by Cadance. “You always reject something that you haven’t experienced yet. If you didn’t reject my offer, you would have been on our side.”

The creature behind the bars only brushed it off after her encounters with Starlight. “Oh, well sorry for doing the opposite. If I defeated you, I would still conquer the lands of Equestria.”

This causes both Cadance and Starlight to sigh in disappointment. “This isn’t going to work.” Cadance said. “Can someone else try to help?”

“I’ll do it.” Spike offered. “I know it’s not going to help much, but we knew this would take forever.” The dragon headed forward while Cadance and Starlight left Chrysalis alone. However the ruler of the Crystal Empire decided to leave the room after her attempt failed.

“Where are you going?” Thorax asked which caused Cadance to stop.

“I’m not leaving, I just need some time alone.” Without continuing the subject, Cadance left the room, leaving Thorax and the others. However this didn’t bother the Changeling ruler as he turned his attention back to Chrysalis, who’s being very insistent with Spike.

“I’m not giving up.” He said to himself.

Outside of the room, Cadence sat by herself in the hives where most of the Changelings are away from the drama. She’s too disappointed that Chrysalis is still the same without a single change in herself. Unlike Thorax’s plans, she can only fear if his plans backfire, it could lead to another crisis to occur.

Then one Changeling appeared from one of the holes who’s still concerned about all of this. “Cadance?” Ocellus spoked which caused Cadance’s ear to perk up.

“Yes?” She spoke nicely.

“Is it true that Thorax is trying to reform our former queen?”

“Yes but it’s not working out at the moment.” She didn’t make any eye contact with Ocellus, but it didn’t stop the changeling. She walked up to the princess until Cadance noticed that she’s right in front of her.

“She’s not going to reform right?” Ocellus asked again.

“From the way Chrysalis is acting right now, no, she won’t.”

Ocellus decided to sit by Cadance who’s still feeling unsure with Thorax. “I talked to Thorax about this last night and I also think this is a terrible idea. I would try to think positive, but after what she did along with Cozy and Tirek, she isn’t worthy of friendship.”

Cadance took a deep breath, trying to do what’s right, but knows full well Thorax will never give up. “I would agree with that, but we’re doing everything we can. Chrysalis is sometimes out of her mind when she’s thirsty for vengeance. It feels like everytime she loses against us, she gets worse and worse.”

“Like how Rainbow Dash feels when she loses?”

“Yes, but at least Rainbow is loyal to her friends. Chrysalis just becomes a psycho, who needs a psychologist, but we all know it’s not enough for her.” The ruler of the Crystal Empire placed her hoof on her face with the idea of giving her enemy a psychologist. “And the more I think about it, the more difficult it gets.”

Ocellus turned to the hole where Thorax and his friends are at. Even if she can’t see what’s going on, she can still hear the voices from the room. From the way Thorax is handling the situation, she can tell it’s not looking good.

“I don’t think that’s the case.” Ocellus turning back to Cadance. “I do understand it will take days, but I’m sure Chrysalis must have missed something about friendship.”

“How would you know? How did you feel when you were under her control before all the Changelings got reformed?”

The Changeling didn’t expect a question that’s so honest about her life, even her closest friends never asked her that question. “I still felt shy, but when love got close to me, I lost control of myself.”

“Well that’s what changelings need when they do it physically, instead of sharing it.”

Ocellus learned that sharing is important ever since she reformed herself. “Maybe Chrysalis always takes forceful matters in her own way. She never takes the easy way and always goes for the hard way.”

“What’s your point?” Cadance now looking at the Changeling.

“Maybe my point is, she never understands what love is supposed to be. Like she’s a thief who’s stealing things she doesn’t know about.”

Cadance found Ocellus point smart, but there’s one she doesn’t know about. “Well that’s mostly true, but she knows more about love than you. When she invaded Canterlot during my wedding, she tried to feed off all the love she can find.”

“That’s true but again, in a forceful manner.” Ocellus corrected. “I think there is a way to reform her.”

“There is a way?” Cadance responded.

“Yes, but I think we need to plan this out one hundred percent before we help her.”

Both Ocellus and Cadance come up with their own strategy to prevent Chrysalis from causing chaos again. It may take time but it will be worth it to help Thorax achieve his goal.

Ocellus’s Shared Love

View Online

After three long hours, Thorax and his friends failed to help Chrysalis, even after their countless attempts. The former queen felt anxiety, from Spike and Starlight’s help, she can feel herself feeling much less vicious. The lessons and sessions she received gave her a significant understanding about friendship, but it traumatized her in a way no creature had done in Equestria.

“Thorax,” Spike retorted nicely. “We’ve been doing this for hours! Why can’t we just give up?”

“No.” Thorax replied. “Even if it takes us all night, we will complete our goal.”

“She threw cupcakes at me! Shouldn’t that be the obvious answer, that she won’t reform!?”

“No offence, but your attempt of showing her friendship wasn’t the best!” Thorax shouted in stress. He sighed in remorse after lashing out to his best friend. Even for him, he knew this wasn’t going to end quickly, but he’s not giving up.

“Thorax, why don’t we just stop so I can turn Chrysalis back into stone again?” Starlight offered, while trying to be nice. “Not only this is not leading us forward, but it’s also causing Chrysalis to lose control of herself.” She pointed at the Changeling in the cell. “But not in an evil way.”

Chrysalis is sitting by herself while hitting the bars on the back of her head. “Why is friendship so beautiful, sweet but most importantly...COMPLICATING TO LEARN!!?” She reacted, as she continued to bang her head.

“Yeah, she feels worse when she’s getting close to reforming.” Spike backed away from looking at Chrysalis.

“No, it’s actually a good thing.” Thorax smiled. “She’s feeling a spark inside herself when friendship grows bigger. If we continue, she might be only steps away from accepting friendship.”

This caused Spike and Starlight to facepalm from hearing their friend’s complement.

“Brother, that makes no sense whatsoever.” Pharynx walking up to his brother. “The only thing we’re doing at this point is giving her a medical class.”

Thorax then lowered his head after agreeing with his brother. He tried to give it a shot, but it never turned out the way he wanted too. “You’re right, we’re just going around circles and it’s not making any progress.”

“Well look at the bright side.” Starlight trying to be positive. “At least we didn’t cause Chrysalis to wreak havoc.”

“Don’t even think about it, I’m still bummed out my goal failed.” The ruler went to the other side of the hive before turning to her former queen. He’s too depressed to even think of another way to resolve Chrysalis to become a better changeling like the rest of his species. As he headed to the corner of the hive, he sat down without his friends to keep him company.

“I’ll go get the cart.” Spike said while looking at his friend alone.

“And I’ll turn Chrysalis into stone.” Starlight added but before she attempted to do her spell, Ocellus and Cadance arrived back in the room.

“Stop!” Cadance called. “We’re not done yet!”

“Cadance?” Pharynx blinked. “What took you so long? And why is Ocellus here? She’s supposed to be away from this room.

“But we just came up with a solution to this!”

“A solution?” Starlight turning to Cadance.

“Like what?” Spike added.

“You’ll see but first…” Ocellus stopped herself because she knew full well they won’t accept her offer, not long before Cadance filled in.

“We want Chrysalis out of her cell.”

“What!?” Starlight shouted.

“But she might escape!” Spike cried.

“Don’t worry.” Cadance spoke as she turned to Pharynx. “You and I will keep an eye on her. Ocellus will take care of this.”

“Why? What can she do?” Pharynx asked.

“You’ll see.”

Thorax heard everything from Cadance, even from the other side of the room. Although he’s against the idea of releasing Chrysalis, he still believes her and Ocellus might be onto something.

Ocellus, Cadance and Pharynx unlocked the cell, which caught the Changeling's attention despite still being watched. Spike is hiding behind Starlight as he and she are prepared if Ocellus’s plan backfires.

Chrysalis couldn’t believe she’s getting released, but still momentarily. “What kind of creatures are you!?” She groaned.

“Changelings who are trying to help you.” Ocellus answered.

“So will you please don’t make any attempt to escape,” Pharynx replied.

“And just slowly walk out of the cell.” Cadance finished.

The three back away to allow Chrysalis to leave her cell. The Changeling, despite feeling the anxiety in herself, slowly walks out of her cell. During her sessions from Starlight and Spike, she learned to tone down her selfish behaviour, even if it traumatized her.

“Just relax.” Cadance placing her hoof on Chrysalis’s shoulder, until she hissed at her briefly.

“Chrysalis.” Ocellus spoked. “What do you think about love in general?”

Upon hearing the question, Chrysalis turned back to Ocellus. After her experiences of stealing love from her enemies, it was only a matter of time she received a question that was all too infamous to her.

“Because it’s one of the most valuable things I want for my own needs! Isn’t that obvious to you?” She shouted.

“But in a forceful manner, you’ve got it all wrong.”

Her former queen flinched from seeing Ocellus counter-argue her statement. “Forceful?”

“Yes. No matter what you say otherwise, a forceful manner isn’t always a good thing.”

“You know it’s true, after you ruined my wedding with Shining Armor.” Cadance commented.

“What I’m trying to say is, you always think of yourself so much, you never truly understood what love is actually supposed to be.” Ocellus spoke in concern.

“Then what do you know that I don’t?” Chrysalis asked.

“I’ve told you this when Thorax shared his love.” Starlight recalled. “The fact you never accept the idea of what love truly is will always make you wrong, no matter what you tell yourself.”

“She wasn’t saying this to go against your plans, because she’s right.” Spike added.

Chrysalis tried to process what she’s hearing around her, causing her to feel more stressed until Ocellus placed her hoof on her shoulder.

“You don’t have to be right all the time.” She said with a soft tone. “What matters is that you always take matters into your own hooves without understanding the true purpose of what love actually means.”

Chrysalis tried to calm down to listen to the creatures around her. In the position she’s in, she’s barely in a listening mood, but she had no choice. She may know everything of what love really means, but always going the wrong way.

“If you were the ruler of the Changeling Empire before you reformed yourself, would you offer Starlight’s friendship?”

Ocellus found Chrysalis’s question a good and nice one at that. If there’s anything she won’t expect some creature’s question, it is usually from their harsh behavior.

“Yes.” She answered. “Even if Starlight is right, even if I don’t control an empire anymore, and even if I never got reformed, I would rather take the chances to accept the friendships from others who were right all along.”

“Then why would you do it?”

“Because I don’t want to be alone.”

Thorax turned around after hearing Ocellus. During those last three hours, he just wanted to make sure his race would stay safe from Chrysalis. He didn’t get the idea to just take one reformed Changeling to meet their former queen who once did all of the duties required during her reign. As for Starlight and Spike, they like where this is going and it’s not causing their enemy to lash out.

Cadance, along with Pharynx slowly being less on edge and listening to what Ocellus had to say, felt their hearts warm after the hours they spent. But the one creature whose heart was different from the others, but not in a selfish way, is Chrysalis.

“I...I don’t know what to say.” She spoked. “And why am I feeling something...usually in myself.”

“I think this is what creatures in Equestria call, a change of heart.” Cadance smiled.

This caused Chrysalis to place her hoof on her chest so she can feel her heartbeat. For such a long time during her life as a queen, this feeling became very rare for her to go through.

“A change of heart?” She spoked. “I didn’t know it would be so effective to me.”

“It can happen to anyone, there’s a first time for everything.”

“Not to mention a really important step, and the first thing for friendship.” Ocellus added. “If you can handle what love feels like, like the rest of us, you'll see the big picture.”

Ocellus lifted her hoof up to offer her friendship to Chrysalis just like Starlight tried in the past. Chrysalis looked at Ocellus’s hoof before making her final choice. “If you think I will accept your offer, everything will change?” She asked.

“If only you reform yourself.” Ocellus finished.

Chrysalis’s heart continues to pound harder and faster, but at this point, she learns that it’s the right thing to do. Her forceful attitude is what’s causing her goals to fail again and again, and she felt ashamed of herself that it took this long for her to realise it. Tears began to fall from her eyes, in full remorse after witnessing all the damage she caused.

Every creature including Thorax couldn’t believe they saw Chrysalis, out of all enemies crying. It was like a bizarre dream that never came to be in the real world. So bizarre, that no one could see it coming. Ocellus can still see more tears coming down from her former queen, but it made her accomplished.

“It’s okay to feel this way. Moments like these are often a long time coming.” She replied.

She still kept her hoof up, while Chrysalis grew a smile on her face. Instead of a hoof shake, she instead gave Ocellus a hug, much to the reformed changeling’s surprise. She holds onto to her tightly now that her heart is in the right place for the first time.

“If there’s anything I can do to fix all of my wrongdoings, I’ll go out of my way to fix them!” Chrysalis cried.

Then a spark came from Chrysalis’s heart, glowing brightly, which caused her to break the hug immediately. Ocellus and the others back away once they see Chrysalis rise from the ground. Soon the other Changelings outside of the room, turned their attention when they saw the light of their former queen, finally transforming herself.

“What’s going on!?” Spike asked while blocking his eyes from the brightness.

“She’s transforming herself!” Thorax looking at Chrysalis.

Chrysalis can only see herself glowing in pure absolution. As the light finally reached its limit, a boom came from the room. Thorax along with his friends look alway to prevent them going blind. Chrysalis then landed on the ground as the absolution completed itself.

Once the glowing had stopped everyone around, took a look at Chrysalis’s new form. Not only it was far different from all the other Changelings, but also beautiful. Chrysalis’s eyes remain the same except they’re light blue instead of green. Her horn is no longer dented and is straight up like it’s supposed to be.

With her being the only Changeling who has a mane, it’s no longer messy, a light blue in a white base that made her beautiful in her own way. Her wings are just like Thorax and Pharynx with a yellow covering, to protect them from damage.

Upon looking at her, every creature thought they were looking at a different Changeling, but it’s really Chrysalis herself. Once she begins to look at herself, she’s no longer sad, but happier than ever before.

“Oh my goodness!” She cheered. “I look even better than in my old form!”

“Do you still feel the same a minute ago?” Cadance asked.

“No. After I finally reformed, I no longer feel an instinct to steal love anymore.”

“That’s because I shared my love with you.” Ocellus replied.

“You’ve changed for the greater good, which means you’ll see what’s yet for you to experience.” Pharynx added.

“Well...what do I have to do first?” Chrysalis said in a normal tone.

“Maybe apologizing Spike for almost plucking his wings off?” Starlight pointed at the dragon.

“What!?” Spike reacted in shock. The newly reformed Changeling looked at Spike upon hearing Starlight. She agrees with her former rival as she begins to walk up to the dragon.

Spike needed to protect himself in case if Chrysalis is just in disguise like all Changelings do. Things get more stressful once he bumps against a wall behind him as the reformed Chrysalis got closer. She used her horn to levitate the dragon which caused him to get paranoid if she’s going to have his wings plucked again.

She then moved him so she could see his back, and felt his wings with her hoof. Even if she didn’t damage his future, she’s relieved she didn’t hurt him that much.

Spike was feeling so much fear inside of him until Chrysalis turned him around and gave him a harmless and warm hug. “I’m sorry I almost plucked your wings off.” She placed his hoof on his wings again.

The hug continued for ten seconds as Spike’s friends could see the good side of Chrysalis after the absolution. The dragon’s fear is starting to go away, the new behavior he’s experienced from her was the opposite from before.

“I forgive you.” Spike closed his eyes as he grew a smile.

“Thank you.” Chrysalis smiled.

“She looks like an angel.” Princess Cadance commented.

“More than an angel.” Starlight added.

Meanwhile, the Changelings of the kingdom all come inside of the room now it’s no longer restricted. When they looked at Chrysalis in her new form, they never believed Thorax along with his friends could do the impossible. As Chrysalis breaks the hug, she notices more of the Changelings are coming into the room. When she walks up to her kind, it was like in the past, but no longer what they used to be.

“So...this is what it feels like being reformed?” Chrysalis asking the Changelings. “Making friendship a better solution and sharling love the right way?”

“Yes!” All the Changelings shouted in happiness.

Chrysalis turned around so she could see Thorax and the others impressed. “So what do I do now?”

“We’re going to write a letter to the ruler of Equestria, so she can know all about the good news.” Pharynx smiled.

“And I’m relieved it didn’t take that long for us to do this.” Ocellus added. Thorax advanced forward in front of Chrysalis now that he has so much to show her.

“I know you can handle running a kingdom, but a lot has changed.” Thorax recalled.

“Don’t worry, I understand.” Chrysalis replied. “As far as I’m concerned, I wonder what you do as a ruler and how love is a better subject than I thought.”

“There’s so much to learn here and even outside of our kingdom. When my friends see the new you, you will never be recognized as one of Equestria’s criminals. And this is only the beginning.” He then gave the reformed queen a hug, which she accepted.

“I really hope you're onto something.”

“I always do.”
