Chapter 1: A Normal Few Days or Time to Start the Adventure With a Bang!

View Online

The night air was crisp with a slight chill to it as I leapt from roof to roof. Not surprising really with winter staring next month. Stopping on the edge of a small restaurant I put to fingers to an ear and disgusting my voice to sound deeper said. “See anything on your end Grackles, Peacock?”

“I freaking hate that codename.” Peacock muttered.

“Nothing so far Crow. Everything’s quite.” Grackles replied. “I still wish you’d let us know exactly who you are though.”

“First rule of the Shinobi. Don’t get caught. There for no one must know who I am under my mask. Not even you.” I replied with a smile. Currently I’m wearing a dark blue long sleeved and hooded jacket with all the metal pieces covered in black tape, dark blue sweat pants and shoes that I died dark blue. Underneath my jacket I’m wearing a black long sleeved shirt and some chain mail I’d made a month after being sent here. Taking inspiration from the ANBU I also had a dark blue mask that I’d carved in the shape of a crow’s head and black gloves. I’d also sewn in some hidden storage seals into my jacket, pants, and gloves. The reason I was smiling was that while Peacock and Grackles may not know who I am but that didn’t stop me despite all their attempts to find out while I’d figured out exactly who they who they were within two weeks of being sent to this world. I’m positive this confused them as I was the one to approach them for this job by leaving a letter with my offer to work for them on Peacocks desk one day. I would have been a vigilante regardless until I was done with a few projects but now I got paid for it! “So everyone else’s is having just as quiet a night as I am?”

“That’s right.” Peacock said as I kept my senses open for anything out of the ordinary. “Fire and Sky did have to help a runaway but that’s about as exciting as it’s gotten tonight.”

“Better a quiet night then one filled with trouble.” I said before noticing something. “Hold that thought looks like I’ve got something.” Three figures were walking down the street each with a large black bag over their shoulders and wearing black outfits, but that didn’t hide the slight sheen of fire arms strapped to their legs and back.

“What’s up?” Grackles asked.

“The figures, all heavily armed. Looks like I’m stopping a robbery tonight.” I said.

“We’ll alert the authorities.” Peacock replied as I heard her start to type something. “What’s their target?

“Glittering Art, jewelry store. Half way down 5th street. Northern part of town. Across from the ‘Sizzling Pan’ restaurant.” I said as I leapt across the street to land of the jewelry store and pulled released one of my tonfa and a shuriken from their storage seals.

“The police are on their way. You have sixty seconds.” Peacock said. When the one I assumed to be the leaded tried to pick the lock I threw the shuriken destroying his lock pick.

“IT’S THE BAT!” One of the trio said as he pulled out a hunting rifle.

“That Bat’s just in comics you moron!” The leader said but he also grabbed his shotgun as their friend pulled out a large revolver. The three thieves looked around but left the spot between the three of them open.

Silently dropping into that spot I grabbed to of their heads and slammed them together knocking the two out. The leader turned to see what the noise was but all he got was a Tonfa in the gut and a punch in the face knocking him out too. “Aww you think I’m Batman… I’m actually slightly honored but no. No part of me is the Bat.” I whispered retrieved my shuriken and jumped to the roof just as two police cars turned the corner their sirens blaring.

After putting my gear back into their storage seals I decided to stay and watch and saw the first man who climbed out of the car was a tall muscular man with greying hair. Seeing the three thieves he actually growled. “This has to be the work of the no good Vigilante!”

“You mean the one people are calling the ‘Shadow Bird’?” One of his friends asked.

“Who else? At least Spitfire and Soren stay around after they assist us with something.” The older man said as put cuffs on the wannabe thieves leader. “They have respect for their old comrades even if they’re ‘too busy’ to be part of the squad now.”

Deciding I heard enough I left. Once I was a few blocks away I smirked. “I wonder how that guy would respond to knowing that the ‘Shadow Bird’ is on the same payroll as Fire and Sky. And really? The ‘Shadow Bird’? Couldn’t they come up with something better? I tell ya there is no originality these days.”

“Says the man calling himself ‘Crow’” Grackles snarked. “And calls us ‘Grackles’ and ‘Peacock’. Isn’t that right Peacock?”

“So anything else I should know Peacock?” I asked smirking.

“I. Hate. Both of you!” Peacock growled.

“Could have been worse Peacock. I could have used ‘Parrot’ or ‘Flamingo’ for your codename.” I chuckled. “Well unless you have something that’s the end of my shift. Talk to you tomorrow.”

“That’s fine. Talk to you tomorrow Crow.” Grackles said also chucking at Peacocks cry of rage.

Reaching under my hood I pulled the communicator out of my ear and placed it in a storage seal. (Time to head home for the night.) I thought before Body Flickering away.

—THE NEXT MORNING—

I checked my watch as I waked down the street in the form I used when going to school with my Transformation Jutsu and while my form was faked my outfit is real. I’m currently wearing bright red sweat pants, a black shirt with a fire like pattern on my tennis shoes with the same pattern as my shirt and a bright orange jacked and hidden though out my outfit are storage seals containing some of my equipment and my ‘Shadow Bird’ outfit. My hair is bright crimson with yellow streaks in it so even my hair looked like fire, unlike a certain bacon haired classmate, and if anyone bothered to examine my dark brown eyes they’d see the look of someone who knew far more then he let on. "Fifteen minutes till school starts." I thought as I walked up the steeps to Canterlot High School. "Which means I’m right on time."

“Hello Bright Inferno. Glad to see you’re early as always” I heard and looking up I saw Principle Celestia.

I shrugged and when I spoke I disguised my voice to make it sounded younger and higher pitch. “It’s easy enough to get here by foot and not be late if you leave early enough.”

“Well hurry along to your class Inferno. You don’t want to arrive at school early only to end up late to class.” Principle Celestia said.

“K, have a nice day Principle Celestia.”

“You too Inferno.”

Walking down the hall I smiled. "Good morning… Peacock." When I made it to class I took my seat and pulled out a small book and went over a few notes for class. “Morning Inferno.” Looking up I saw the schools top athlete Rainbow Dash sit down in her set next to mine just before the bell rang. I also saw three of her friends in their seats, Rarity Belle, Applejack and Pinkie Pie.

“Morning Dash, spend too long on the field again?” I asked.

“You know it.” She said with a grin. “Have to keep my speed up somehow.”

“Now if only you could take the rest of school as seriously.” I smirked as the math teacher Mr. Cranky entered the room.

—Lunch—

Walking into the lunch room I walked over to a couple of tables that had been pushed together and pulled out my lunch box. “Howdy Inferno.”

“Hey Aj.” I said as Aj and her friends Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Sunset Shimmer sat down around me.

“I noticed you never have any of the cafeteria food, why is that?” Rarity asked.

“I prefer to make my own food.” I said with a shrug.

“That’s fair. So what’d you bring with you today?” Sunset asked.

Grinning I opened my lunch box to reveal some salmon sashimi and yellow tail sushi, a roll with roasted pork, lettuce, and tomatoes, and a couple rice balls. To drink I had some water I’d mixed a some vitamins into.

Sunset shook her head. “Why you always have so much to eat I’ll never understand.”

I simply grinned as we started to eat our lunches. During lunch Twilight said. “Have any of you heard of the Shadow Bird?”

“Isn’t he that new vigilante?” Fluttershy asked.

“I heard he literally appears out of the shadows.” Pinkie said.

“I heard that he can command crows and ravens.” Rainbow said and upon hearing this I couldn’t help but smirk as I chewed on a piece of sashimi.

“That would be interesting if it was true.” I said after swallowing my food.

“And completely impossible.” Twilight said.

“And yet you have a talking dog.” Rarity said.

“…shut up.” Twilight muttered.

“You wanna know what I heard at my job?” Sunset said making everyone really curious. “I heard that Police Chief really wants to get his hands on the Shadow Bird no matter the cost. Something along the lines of the Shadow Bird making him and his men look bad and that he has a plan to bring him to justice.” Before anyone could say anything to that the bell rang signaling that classes would start again soon.

—11:00 pm—

I was in my ‘mission outfit’ sitting in my home that was hidden three miles outside of the city going over some plans I’d need for tonight. Much to my surprise a group of mafia or in this case yakuza goons were moving a shipment of electronics through the city. They were planning to load them onto a ship at the docks tonight at two. Over the past three day’s I’d checked the place out to the point I knew everything about the layout of the building, where the crates I wanted were, the names, gender, looks and abilities of the two hundred guards that rotated their shift every hour. The main thing that surprised me was this group was from the Shimada Syndicate. This meant that both Overwatch and Talon might be active. I’d have to find a way to contact Overwatch soon but I’d have to keep an eye out for agents from Talon agents though. Don’t want to run into Reaper and Widowmaker to soon but if Sombra found a way to hack my stuff… well all I can say is it’s a good this this is more of an small isolated outpost that I could easily abandon and everything really important is kept in very well hidden storage seals on my person at all times.

Looking at the clock I noticed the time, stood up cricked my neck and Body Flickered away. Once I reached the docks I crouched down on a roof a bit away from my target while I put the communicator in my ear just in case. (Better take care of the job before my shift starts.) But as I observed the guards who were all in the same black tux and sun glasses I saw that instead of the normal fifty guards per shift there were a hundred and each had military grade equipment. (They could have just doubled the watch due to them shipping out tonight but considering what Sunset said I doubt that’s the only reason. This smells like a trap.) I pondered what I should do. On one hand If I let the Shimada Syndicate go without a problem other groups might think I’m scared of them and hire them to move cargo through the city more often. This would have the effect of drawing in more crooks that would pretend to be part of the Shimada and things would get busy around here.

On the other if my hunch about this being a trap was right then Police Chief Iron Will had bargained with the Syndicate to try and capture me then I would have to fight both the Syndicate and the police.

“You’re out early Crow.” Grackles said.

“I don’t just go out when I’m on the clock Grackles.” I said. “Besides there’s I wanted to ask you and Peacock. I’ve heard a rumor that Iron Will wants to get his hands on me no matter what it took and had some sort of plan. Do you know what that plan is?”

“I’ve heard that same rumor but unfortunately I have no idea what that plan might be.” Grackles said.

“Well keep your ears and eyes open for anything.”

“Will do. I’ll also let the others know to look out for anything interesting. I’ll leave you to your devices until your shift or if something happens.” Grackles said before there was a small *blip* as Grackles cut the connection.

(Let’s see. Iron Will lives alone so there’s a possibility no one’s there, then there’s these guys.) My head slightly jerked up as an idea stuck me and I grinned. (Time to confuse not only these guys but also Iron Will.) Forming the correct hand seal “Shadow Clone Jutsu!” Around me twenty two clones appeared. One left to search Iron Will’s home on the off chance something was there the rest spread out around the area each pulling out a different weapon. Most had tantos or bo staffs one pulled out a two handed katana while I pulled a video camera and handed it to the last one before pulling out my tonfa’s. Once all my clones and I were in place we swooped in and easily took care of the goons and just as I suspected police sirens blared just as the last goon was knocked out.

Moments before the cars came into view my clones dispelled themselves. Five cars drove out of one of the buildings and blocked off the walk ways. Out of the cars came Iron Will and eleven other police who pointed their guns at me. “Who knew that the infamous Shadow Bird was really just a stupid teenager. Not that it maters you are under arrest, for assault, battery and the use of dangerous weapons.”

“Before this continues am I allowed to ask a question?” I asked.

Iron Will smirked. “I don’t see why not.”

“We both know that these are members of the yakuza, and yet I don’t see any of you moving to arrest them. Not to mention that crime has dramatically gone down since I showed up. So why are you so focused on arresting me when I’ve done nothing but help you? And don’t bother giving me the ‘I’m making you look bad’ BS. Considering everything that’s happened I know there’s more to it than that.”

Iron Will thought about it for a second before saying. “It’s not like the court will believe you any way’s so I don’t see the harm in telling you. You see many of the people that have been arrested over the past for months have been… giving generous donations to me and my men here, and now that they’re behind bars with such damning evidence our funds have been drastically reduced.”

Under my masked I frowned. “Bribes. I should have known.”

“Please ‘bribe’ is such a filthy word.” Iron Will said.

“It doesn’t matter what word you use. All of you are dirty cops and will be brought to justice.” I growled as I moved a smoke bomb to my hand without Iron Will or his friends notice.

“So what are you going to do? If you attack us or run we can put out a warrant on your arrest. Face it you’ve lost.”

I smirked knowing I had two aces up my sleeve and I heard a beep in my ear. “I’ve been watching everything that happened Crow. I hope you know what you’re doing.” Grackles said.

“So sorry to disappoint you but I have other plans for tonight. So I’m afraid that you won’t be able to stroke your ego that much tonight you poor excuse for a officer! Heck with how bad you are it’s no wonder not even cat’s like you!” I said as I threw the bomb to the ground and Body Flickering away the moment I was fully obscured.

“KILL HIM!” Iron Will commanded making all the dirty cops unloaded on the smoke and threw his hat to the ground in rage when it cleared and revealed that I was gone. “DAMN HIM!”

“What do you plan to do now Crow? I mean now Iron Will has a legitimate reason to try to…wait. What’s this?” Grackles asked. “How in the world… Crow I don’t know how you did this but all I have to say is. You clever son of a bitch.”

From my place on top of the pier’s lighthouse I chuckled as I saw Iron Will and his cohorts leave while leaving the yakuza members where they were. "Time to finish the job."

—Next day, first period classroom—

“Inferno did you hear what happened last night?!” Pinkie asked.

“No I didn’t. What happened?”

She placed a newspaper on my desk. On the front page it showed Police Chief Iron Will in cuffs with the headline. Shining Newcomer Shining Armor Arrests Iron Will

“Turns out Iron Will’s been taking bribes from over a dozen criminals that the Shadow Bird had put behind bars. That’s why Will was so determined to arresting him.” Pinkie explained as Twilight walked up.

“You talking about Iron Will?” she asked.

“Yupperuny.” Pinkie said while I nodded.

“Who would have thought that he wasn’t only taking bribes but helping to cover up a few murders and rapes.” Twilight sighed. “My brother was so disappointed when he learned that. Shining Armor saw Iron Will as a hero for when Iron Will managed to stop that serial killer six years ago.”

I didn’t respond to that and mealy thought about the ledger my clone had found under Iron Will’s bed that had very detailed information on all of Iron Will’s ‘donators’, crimes he’d hushed up and other shady deals he’d made. One of which was with hiring said killer to take out a Privet Eye who was getting to close to discovering what Iron Will was up to. “At least he can’t abuse his station anymore.” I said with a grin.

—Three days later. After school—

After everyone but the principles and my friends went home I walked through the halls with a large box in my arms while Sunset pushed a cart with thee more boxes on it. “Thanks for helping Inferno.”

“No problem. Happy to help.” I said before I heard the faint sound of cloth on tile around the corner. I stopped suddenly which made Sunset stop. Slowly putting the box down I peeked around the corner while making a motion to tell Sunset to stay quiet. My eyes went wide as I saw a group of ten people in a black and grey outfit with metal armor on their gloves and boots and a very familiar red symbol on their chest. "That’s the Foot Clan! But how?!"

“Sir. The rest of the bombs are in place.” One said through hand signals.

After weighing my options I nodded to myself. Turning I grabbed Sunset and holding her in a bride style body flickered away. Reappearing in front of our friends I was glad to see the principles. I put Sunset down just before Celestia asked. “Inferno, Sunset where did you come from?”

“No time Peacock, Grackles. Everyone grab hold of me NOW!” I commanded with my true voice making Celestia and Luna look shocked.

“But how…” Luna started.

“NOW!” I ordered. “Or would you preferred being blown up?!” When they heard that everyone rushed to fallow my order. Once everyone had grabbed hold we disappeared in a flash of yellow light moments before the bombs exploded utterly destroying the school.

Chapter 2: A Few Secrets Come to Light

We reappeared in a large mostly empty but well-lit room. Handing on the walls were hundreds of wooden weapons of almost every kind of weapon imaginable there were several and serval wooden posts that were firmly planted in the ground. “We’re safe now. You can let go.” I said and the others slowly started to let go and look around.

“Where…where are we?” Luna asked.

“One of the training rooms of my real home.” I said.

“Real? Inferno I demand an explanation!” Celestia said.

I smirked, and made a hand seal releasing my Transformation Jutsu. Whereas before I was just a few inches taller than Sunset now I was as tall as Celestia. I have piercing crimson eyes, straight black hair that was currently styled to reach just shy of my shoulders. I also had on mostly sky blue leather armor with yellow arrows at the knees and pieces of metal armor on my arms with my elbows exposed, chest, waist and lower legs and odd shoes that left my toes exposed. On the chest plate over my heart is the image of a red magnifying glass with an eye in the center and three red arrows coming of the top.

“How the? Who are you?!” Rainbow asked. “Because I know for a fact that Inferno can’t do that!”

“How?” I asked and she looked puzzled at the question. “How you do know with absolute certainty that ‘Inferno’ couldn’t do that.”

“I..erm…” Rainbow stuttered trying to think of a reason. “He’s one of my best friends so of course he would have said something!”

“Rainbow… no everyone. I have many secrets I didn’t want to tell anyone. Who I really was is one of them and for that I am truly sorry, but know that I never once lied to you about being your friend.” I said with a short bow.

“Who are you?” Sunset asked. “I know you’re not from Equestria because that wasn’t magic you used but it shouldn’t be possible that you could teleport us here without magic. So who are you?”

“YA!” Pinkie yelled looking angrier then I’d ever seen her. “Who do you think you are keeping who you really were from your friends!”

“And your bosses.” Celestia said trying to keep calm but I could tell by the tightness of the muscles in her face she was very close to cracking.

“My true name is Kohtaro Hanzō. I am a Shinobi and founder of both Fekikugakure, The Hidden Phoenix Village, and the Rising Phoenix Country.”

“Hidden Phoenix…? What are you talking about?” Applejack asked.

“I agree. Everyone knows that Ninja’s aren’t able to do what you did. Not in real life any way.” Twilight said adjusting her glasses.

“Ninja’s from the Main Continents perhaps, but here in the Elemental Nations anything is possible.” I replied turning and motioning for them to fallow. “But let’s not talk in a training room. Please fallow me.” As I led them to our destination we passed through serval empty corridors and when we passed a window they saw an entire city made of stone and wood which was also empty and judging from the shadows and light posts throughout the city it seemed to be late night.

“This place is pretty empty for a so called Village.” Rainbow snarked.

“Well I did finish building it only two months ago.” I said. “And I haven’t found the right people to invite to join.”

“Do you mean to tell me you built this entire place? As if we’d believe something so utterly impossible.” Twilight said. “This most have taken years to complete, and that’s not taking pluming and wiring into account.”

Turning my head to look at her I said. “You are friends with a unicorn who came through a magic portal that was embedded in a statue outside a high school and while still a high school student you made a device that can drained magic out of six people only to get over powered by your negative emotions when forced to use it. In my experience very few things are impossible. As for how long it took to complete Fekikugakure, it only took one month to make all the buildings and another to use Fūinjutsu to give this place electricity, although I did have a few Shadow Clones to assist me.” "More like a few hundred."

“At least now we know how Crow… no Kohtaro got a letter on your desk at home without us knowing Sister.” Luna said.

“That doesn’t mean I have to like it.” Celestia replied. “I was paranoid for weeks after he broke in to do that.”

“That’s also how I got Iron Will arrested.” I said. “Sent a Shadow Clone to his home, found a ledger containing EVERY deal he and his cronies made to hush stuff up and in a few cases make evidence to get certain people arrested. Copied it into a small journal along with photo graphic evidence and dropped the original on Shining Armor's desk when no one was looking.”

“And how long did that take… and what’s a Shadow Clone?” Luna asked.

“Exactly five minutes to copy the entire ledger and another minute to get the journal to Shining’s desk. A Shadow Clone is an advanced version of the normal Clone Jutsu which are just illusions but a Shadow Clone is solid enough to effect items.” I explained as we reached our destination. We entered my dining room I asked everyone to be seated while I went to make some food in the kitchen. Once inside the kitchen I made thirty Shadow Clones and sent them to watch over the few other members of Celestia’s organization and the girl’s families and nine different clones that set to work on a different task. I came out fifteen minutes later pushing a cart and placed a plate in front of each of my guests before putting serving plates covered with different kinds of food on the table then went back into the kitchen for the cart of food I’d prepared for myself. When I came back everyone’s plate was full to bursting.

“I don’t know what’s crazier. The claim of you got Iron Will arrested or the fact you think you can eat that much food.” Applejack said.

“Normally a Ninja needs roughly twice the amount of calories a normal civilian needs, I need roughly twenty times the amount normal Ninja’s need.” I sighed then clapped my hands. “So onto my explanation although part of it is going to be much shorter than you might think.”

“So Kohtaro what exactly is going on. Start at the beginning.” Celestia said using that ‘I’m your principle and you’re in a lot of trouble’ voice.

I shot Celestia a ‘that’s not going to work here’ look, took a sip of my sake. “Well it started four and a half years ago in another universe, and I’m talking Multiverse here. I used to work part time in a comic book shop that also sold manga, so I did what anyone who worked in that kind of store did when it was empty and I was on the clock, I read to pass the time. Then one day I bought a lottery ticket just for the heck of it and two months later I found that I’d won the first prize of $500,000,000.” At this I heard a few hushed gasped around the table. “Once I had the money in my account I finished paying a few debts I was working through I then bought sixteen figures and ordered a custom made helmet each of which belonged to one of my favorite fictional ninjas.”

“I’m betting you quit your job and move up in the world. Am I right? I bet I’m right.” Sunset chuckled and I noticed that I was the only one who was eating.

“Then you’d lose that bet, but please eat. I didn’t make all that just so it could sit there and look good.” I replied. "Despite winning the lotto I continued with my job because I liked the place, and I had fun talking to other anime fans.”

The moment they took their first bites they started looking between me and the plate in shock. “How is it this good?!” Luna asked. “What kind of ingredients did you use?”

“Just the normal stuff from the grocery store two block away from the Sugarcube Corner.” I replied.

“Bullshit!” Rainbow cried. “There is no way that’s true!”

“Any ingredient can shine if you know how to cook them to bring out their full potential.” I stated calmly. “Now as I was saying three weeks after I made the orders they arrive on the same day. After signing and bringing the packages into my home I started placing the figures and helmet in place and when I finished there was a puff of smoke and I was standing in an ally in Canterlot City.”

“…That’s it?” Fluttershy asked. “I was kind of expecting something a little more… interesting.”

I chuckled. “That’s how I got to the Main Continents but it wasn’t long until I realized I could remember the lives of every person I’d bought merchandise of as if I was the one there and a few tests showed I could also use their techniques. That’s when I started using the alias Crow for ‘work’ and enrolled in Canterlot High as Blazing Inferno… enrolling was surprisingly easy due to just walking up and telling you I wanted to enroll Celestia. For someone who ran a city wide organization I’m surprised there wasn’t any paperwork.”

Celestia looked to the side at that embarrassed. “So how did you find this place?” Pinkie asked.

“Do you mean this area or the Elemental Nations?” I asked.

“Ummm yes?” Pinkie replied unsure.

“Well for the Elemental Nations one of my clones found the continent by accident but I’m glad it did.” I said as I started on my soup.

“How do you find and entire continent by accident?” Fluttershy asked.

“Well the entire thing is hidden inside a giant Genjutsu to keep it hidden from the Main Continent. Who created the Genjutsu and why I’m not sure but I have a few suspicions.” I replied.

“What’s a Genjutsu? For that matter what’s a Jutsu?” Sunset asked.

"I’m beginning to feel like an academy teacher." I snickered to myself before beginning the explanation. “A Jutsu is a technique Ninja’s use by using hand seals to focus our Chakra. Chakra is the force that allows Ninja’s to do what those on the Main Continent would see as ‘super human’. It’s a combination of spiritual and physical power created by a body’s Chakra Coils. These coils spread the Chakra throughout the body by a network and are accessible thanks to pressure points called Tenketsu. A Genjutsu is a Jutsu that affects a humans five senses to trick the mind into seeing illusions which is why it’s also called ‘Illusionary Techniques’. This can be used to put a person to sleep, see their biggest fear, or in this case hide an entire continent.”

“Apart from Genjutsu there are two other main categories for Jutsu those being Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. Ninjutsu consists of almost all the other Jutsus and are also called ‘Ninja Technique’, Taijutsu which is another way of saying martial arts or ‘Body Technique’. Now all other categories for Jutsu are subcategories. The way a Ninja preforms Jutsus not counting Taijutsu and Fūinjutsu are through Hand Seals which are used to help focus and mold Chakra.” I explained.

“This is all well and good but when do we get to go home?” Rainbow asked.

Knowing this was coming I sighed and leaned my elbows on the table and crossed my fingers. “I regret to say that… I can’t in good conscience let any of you return to the Main Continent…” I paused for a few moments before sighing again. “…ever. As far as the Main Continent must know all of us died in the explosion.”

“WHAT?!” Everyone yelled.

“You better have a good reason Kohtaro.” Celestia growled.

“The ones who placed the bombs around Canterlot High are a shinobi clan, specifically the Foot Clan. Now that may not sound that bad but if their leader is who I think he is then it’s very, very troubling that they were targeting at LEAST one of you for assassination.” I said. “The Foot Clan doesn’t only have shinobi training but also access to advanced weapons and armor. This makes them a very dangerous foe.”

“So why plant a bomb?” Luna asked.

“My guess is to make it look like a gas explosion.” I sighed.

“How do we know that...” Rainbow started.

“That I really had nothing to do with the Foot?” I asked my voice growing so cold making Rainbow started to shiver. “If I wanted you dead all of you would have died long ago or I could have left without you.”

“So… What now?” Luna asked trying to calm her own nerves.

“First we finish what’s left of our meal. Then I get things ready to train you how to fight ninja’s and the best way to fight a ninja is to be a ninja.” I said.

Fluttershy’s eyes went wide. “You don’t mean…”

“All of you need to become kunoichi.” I stated and much to my surprise Rainbow’s, Fluttershy’s and Sunset’s eyes light up and we continued to eat in silence for three minutes. Once we finished I led them out of the dining room and towards my lab. When we got there I said. “Welcome to my lab, please don’t touch anything, and I do mean anything” The lab itself had white tiles shelves of books, scrolls, vials, and cabinets. In the back there were a few more white doors and a large thick curtain covering an out cropping next to a table with a 10 screens of screens all connected to one of three computers. I saw two of the clones I made earlier huddled over a computers working on the project I gave them.

Walking over to the clones working at the computers I asked. “Is everything ready?”

“Almost Boss.” The one on the left said. “We were doing our final checks before letting you look at em.”

Nodding I went back to the girls who were still looking around. “Why did you bring us here?” Twilight asked as she and the rest of the girls were looking at the books on the walls.

I started going through hand signs and said. “You’ll find out soon. Illusionary Art: Hypnotic Rain.” Feathers suddenly started raining around them and in moments all were on the ground asleep as all the other clones entered the room. “Get them all ready. Once I do my check on the process, I’m going to get the transfer done ASAP.”

“Got it Boss!” The Clones said and quickly got to work.

Moving to the computers I sat in the chair the clone had been in and started going over the different screens showing nine strands of DNA and began making small adjustments of my own. If I was going to do this I was going to give them the best chance of survival I could.

—Twenty Five Hours Later, Village Hospital—

Soft beeps fill the air as I noticed eyes opening from the person on the bed next to me. She has red and yellow hair that’s reminiscent of the morning sun as its half way over the horizon. Smirking I said. “I was expecting you to be out for a least two more hours. Guess the procedure was more effective than I thought it would be.”

As the others started waking up groggily she said. “What happened?”

“Couldn’t let all of you go through… let’s call it 'surgery' awake now can I?” I asked and quickly used the Phoenix Village sign language I created two years ago when I first had the idea for this village to tell a clone to get eight others and nine mirrors and get back here ASAP.

“Surgery?” One of the other’s groaned her hair looking like someone took a lot of shards of broken colored glass and put them together at random and piercing crimson eyes asked. “What are you talking about?”

My clones reappeared just as I saw that everyone was now awake. “See for your selves.”

The Clones brought forth the mirrors and everything was quiet before my instincts told me to cover my ears moments before they all screamed. “WHAT ON EARTH DID YOU DO?!”

“All Shinobi must be taught when they are young, otherwise their muscles and Chakra Coils can’t develop properly. So in order to teach you properly I had to try something dangerous. The reason I didn’t tell you is because that could have made it even more dangerous.” I explained.

“What. Did. You. DO!?” One with hair that perfectly looked like an Aurora demanded.

“When I went into the kitchen I made nine clones and gave each one a job to get a small clip of your hair and along with a clip of my hair to get to the lab and start the process of cloning you new bodies.” I explained before taking a deep breath. “Welcome to the waking world… my daughters.”

Silence filled the room. Before one with light pink and blond hair said. “What?”

“Your new bodies DO have DNA from your old ones and my pieces of my own.” I stated. “Wouldn’t that make you my children in a way?”

The one who’s left eye as red as a ruby and right eye the deepest blue of a sapphire leaned into her bed and said. “I wasn’t ready for today.”

“And I wasn’t ready to suddenly be the farther of nine, eight year old girls but here we are.” I shot back. “So now that the transfer’s over you all need new names. After all, transferring you to new bodies would be meaningless if you were killed before you became official Shinobi.”

“And I’m guessing you have it all figured out already?” A girl whose hair went from fiery red to a dark pink asked.

“Here’s the list of your new names. Celestia is now Midday Aurora, Luna is Midnight Eclipse, Rainbow’s Shattered Spectrum, Applejack is Blossoming Apple, Rarity’s now Precious Gem, Twilight is Evening Star, Fluttershy is Kind Wing, Pinkie’s now Pinkari, and Sunset‘s now Morning Phoenix.” I said.

“How do you even do this?” Evening Star asked.

I closed my eyes for a moment and when they opened my eyes had changed to a white orb with several black rings. “Well the first part was cloning the bodies which should be obvious. The second part was to use my Rinnegan which is one of the rarest and most powerful Dōjutsu or ‘Eye Jutsu’. The Rinnegan gives me access to what are called ‘The Six Paths of Pain’. The one I used for the transfer is call Naraka Path.” When I finished my explanation I canceled my Dōjutsu and my eyes returned to normal.”

“That’s only half of the explanation!” Blossoming Apple exclaimed. “How did you do this?”

“I used Naraka Path to transfer your souls from your old bodies to your new ones.” I stated.

“Is that safe?!” Midnight Eclipse asked slightly panicked.

“Do you think I would try something like moving souls to a new body without testing it?” I asked raising an eyebrow. “I gave animals who were sick and dying a new lot in life. True their new bodies are the same as their old ones just younger and without any genetic illnesses but I still made sure I could do it safely before even beginning to think of using it on a human. It took a lot of time and practice to use it the way I did”

Kind Wing looked around. “I know what happened but does anyone find it weird that I want to call Kohtaro ‘dad’?”

“I was thinking the same thing.” Evening Star sighed.

“All of you should get some rest. Tomorrow I’m going to do a full physical exam just to be safe.” I said getting up with a small smirk. “Besides it’s late and children should be asleep by now.”

Shattered Spectrum rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Get going you smart ass.”

“See you in the morning girls” I said as I left the room leaving my clones to take care of them.

Chapter 3: A Change of Plans

View Online

After I left the hospital I used the Body Flicker to arrive in a large open field on the other side of town. “Shadow Clone Jutsu!” A large plume of smoke appeared then quickly cleared to reveal a few thousand clones. “All of you are to search every inch of this planet as quickly as you can! I want to know where the Shirai Ryu, Lin Kuei, Sheikah, Overwatch and the Dojo are. While you search NO ONE is to know you’re there! Once you’ve found them report immediately! Once the girl’s training has reached a good spot I’ll head to Konoha and introduce myself. NOW GET MOVING!”

Shouts of “Yes Sir.” And “Got it Boss!” filled the air before the field emptied leaving me alone. Nodding at how quickly my clones got to work I turned and made my way home to double check the lesson plans I’d made for the Academy.

—Meanwhile with the girls. General POV—

After Kohtaro left silence filled the air as the clones had removed the IV and monitors and had left the room after turning down the lights. “It’s hard to believe this happened.” Star said. “As if finding out about magic wasn’t enough of a headache enough but Ninjas? Having our souls transferred to new bodies? It’s insane.”

“And yet here we are.” Phoenix sighed. “It’s still hard to wrap the fact that Inferno and Kohtaro is the same person. I can see the similarities in their personalities but so much of it is different that it’s incredible that none of us noticed something was up.”

“I agree.” Eclipse said. “We’ve been working with him for three years and never once did we think that Inferno and Crow were one in the same.”

“So are you going to explain that whole thing or just leave us in the dark about the whole ‘Crow’ thing?” Spectrum asked.

“Crow is what we called him when everyone else called him the ‘Shadow Bird’.” Aurora explained making everyone’s eyes grow wide. “Lu….Eclipse and I used to run a secret organization that helped keep Canterlot safe. Crow came to us three years ago by placing a letter on my personal desk. How he did so without tripping any of our alarms I still don’t know and quite frankly that unnerves me but once he came into the picture he almost single handily made organized crime not existent. What other secrets could he be hiding?”

“Why don’t we could ask tomorrow?” Kind suggested making everyone look at her. “He hasn’t been hiding much from us when we ask and I don’t see him hiding anything from us unless he had very good reasons.”

“That is true.” Blossom pondered. “And as far as I can tell he hasn’t lied since we got here.”

“My main question is how he got his hands on the technology to clone us.” Star said. “That kind of thing shouldn’t be possible with modern technology, and yet…”

“For now let’s get some sleep, and talk to, Pops in the morning.” Pinkari suggested before she blinked in surprise. “Huh, for some reason that feels natural.”

“I agree with Pinkari on both accounts. Farther will tell us if we ask.” Gem said before shaking her head and closed her eyes. “It scary how easy it is to call him that and use our new names.”

—Next Morning. 7 AM. Kohtaro POV—

Walking into the hospital I saw that everyone was already awake. “Good morning girls.”

I’m not sure what surprised me more, that they answered me with a chorus of “Morning Dad”, “Pops”, “Father” or the joy I felt when they did.

“So who’s ready for that physical exam?” I asked.

“Before that I’ve got a question.” Star said. “Where did you get the tech to clone us new bodies?”

“Should have known that was coming.” I sighed. “Every time a group of organized crime came through the docks I always made sure to go in and take care of it. The majority of the tech here was taken from different mafia or yakuza groups.”

Eclipse’s eyes went wide. “So THAT’S why those groups we were monitoring disappeared over a single night.”

“If any of them find out who and where you are you’re in a lot of trouble Pops.” Spectrum said with a small smirk. “But still to be able to take down the mafia so easily. I gatta admit that’s kinda cool.”

“That’s only part of the explanation.” Star said.

“I’ll tell you the rest over breakfast alright?” I offered to which Star nodded.

“But what did you do with the mafia goons?” Blossom asked.

“They’re now six feet under.” I said making everyone eyes go wide.

“You…you killed them?” Kind gasped.

“I’m a Shinobi. While on the Main Continent they may be more known for their spying and espionage but I’m more like the ones here in the Elemental Nations. We are soldiers and I wasn’t about to let the mafia have a foot hold in the city I called home.” I said before sighing. “Guess I won’t be able to do that now.”

“Does that mean…we’re going to have to kill people?” Gem asked.

At this I gave a small sad smiled. “That is a strong possibility yes, but I and your sisters will be there for you, and who knows. Depending on what I find as I teach you, you might have the qualities to be a medical-nin, but for now let’s get you ready for the exam.” The clones from last night came in and we each helped one of the girls to their feet. Once I helped Pinkari to her feet I said. “We’ll do this one at a time, and while I’m helping one of you the rest will be…well I won’t spoil the surprise.”

“This better be good.” Gem grumbled then she shivered slightly when she noticed all my clones had the same grin I did. “That’s incredibly creepy.”

“You’ll get used to it.” The clone helping Gem chuckled. “I’m going to be using this Jutsu a lot in the future.”

“You all take the girls to the surprise. I’ll get Pinkari to the examination room.” I said as I helped Pinkari out of the room and down the hall. By the time we got to the room Pinkari had finished adapting to her new body.

“So how do you want to start this?” Pinkari asked.

“Well first…”

—With the Girls. Phoenix’s POV—

As we were led to this surprise by our Father’s clones I was glad to find that the more we moved the less we needed the clones help. “I doubt you’ll tell us where we’re going but will you at least give us a hint?”

The clone helping Spectrum thought for a moment. “Nah. It’ll be better if you’re left in the dark.”

“What’ll be better?” Aurora asked.

“You’re reactions.” The clone helping Blossom replied with a large grin.

“You some sort of prankster?” Spectrum asked.

“You could say that.” The clone helping Spectrum replied with a smirk.

“Well here we are.” The one helping Gem said as he opened a door with 服 on it and for some reason I knew it read ‘Fuku’.

“...Clothes?” I asked raising an eye brow ignoring the fact I could read the kanji. “That’s your surprise?” Glancing at Gem I saw he eyes light up.

“That’s only part of it.” the clone who had been helping Eclipse said as he opened the door to reveal a large room to reveal fifteen rows of outfits. When she saw the room Gem let out an ear piercing squeal of joy.“Go on in and pick your kunoichi outfit and don’t worry there are plenty of spares so you don’t have to fight over them.”

“Where did you get all of these?!” Gem asked rushing into the room.

All the clones chuckled. “You’d be surprised what a few hundred clones can do in a night which the right supplies.”

When Gem felt one of the outfits her brow furrowed in confusion. “I know the feeling of the fabric. It almost feels like…”

“Like the kind you used to use?” One of the clones asked as he leaned against the wall as I and… my sisters joined Gem in looking around the room.

“Yes.” Gem replied.

“Makes sense considering the Boss bought the fabric from you.”

“When?”

“Boss started …about a year and a half ago right?” One of the clones asked a second.

“Something like that ya. He started getting supplies for this place the moment he got the idea.”

“And he knows how to sew?”

Looking around the room the clones all gave Gem a look and as one they gave a sarcastic. “No he doesn’t.”

“You walked into that one Gem.” Spectrum snickered as she grabbed the outfit she’d chosen.

After fifteen more minutes Pinkari walked into the room. “I’m done. So who’s next?”

—POV Aurora—

“I might as well go next.” I said as I handed my outfit to a clone that walked over to a shelf, grabbed a scroll and with a puff of smoke seal my outfit inside.

Seeing my look he chuckled. “Storage scrolls. Gotta love em, and don’t worry you’ll all be taught how to use them when you go to the Academy.”

“Wait what?!” Spectrum cried. “We have to go back to school!?!”

“Couse you do!” A clone snorted. “Did you think we’d just hand you weapons and the like without making sure you knew what you were doing? You’ll also learn geography, how to travel using the stars as guides, some history for the Elemental Nations, calligraphy, how to access your chakra and basic Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and possibly Genjutsu.”

After this I left the room fallowing the clone that had my new outfit to what I assumed was the examination room Father was in. knocking on the door to my surprise it was a female voice that said. “You don’t need to knock right now. Come on in.” Opening the door I saw a tall woman with blond hair brown eyes, a blue diamond on her forehead, a grass green jacket that if I remember correctly is called a ‘haori’ with a grey kimono styled blouse that showed a lot of cleavage with a blue/grey obi that was the same color as her pants, and black high heeled sandals.

“I thought Father was going to do these exams.” I said and upon seeing the confusion on my face the woman said.

“Considering part of your mind is still that of a more mature woman I thought it would be more comfortable for you if I take the form of the Medical-Nin who’s a part of me. Just know that I don’t plan to take the forms of the Shinobi who are part of me that often.”

Raising an eyebrow I said. “So what’s her name?”

“This is Tsunade Senju. One of three legendary Sannin and the best Medical-Nin in the world.” The moment Father said this, my eyes went wide. He has the skills of not only the best shinobi medic on the planet but this Tsunade is also legendary. What other secrets is he hiding… and some small part of me was a little annoyed that there was someone with a better figure then the one I used to have. I was proud that no one else in Canterlot had a better figure damn it! Seeing my eyes go wide Father chuckled. “Pinkari had that same look when I told her and I bet some of the others will to. Now let’s get started with this examination shall we?”

—Later at breakfast. Kohtaro POV—

“So now that everyone’s examination’s done and you all have proper kunoichi outfits. Who’s ready for their first day at the Ninja Academy?” I asked as we ate from the piles of pancakes and waffles I made.

“Before that I’ve got a question.” Star asked.

“What is it Star?”

“We know how you acquired the items you used to make cloning machine but how did you actually make it?”

I sighed and put my cutlery down on my empty plate. “Should have known that was coming. Alright now in order to understand how I put it together you should know exactly which shinobi lends me their power but this knowledge is NOT to leave this room understand?” I asked looking at each of them my eyes showing that there was no arguing with this. Everyone quickly nodded and but before they could do the Pinkie Promise I said. “You’ll have to come up with a new Promise Pinkari. The original Pinkie Promise has to be laid to rest.”

Pinkari looked devastated but then got a strong gleam in her eyes. “Just you wait I’ll make on so good that it’ll be impossible for you to say no to it!”

“That’s the spirit!” I said grinning before the memories of two of my clones dispelling hit me and I getting serious again. “Here’s the list of people whose figures I bought and the man whose helmet I had recreated. Hanzo Hasashi or Scorpion leader of the Shirai Ryu and Kuai Liang or Sub Zero the leader of the Lin Kuei. Shigure Kōsaka the Weapon Master of the Ryōzanpaku Dojo. Chiru who’s a master chef and is ranked as the 15th best chef on the planet. Impa the leader of the Sheikah tribe. The brothers Genji and Hanzo Shimada.” Here I paused for a moment “andOroku Saki…The Shredder and leader of the Foot Clan, it was his helmet I had recreated.” Gasps were heard around the table at this but no one said anything else.

Tsunade Senju of the Sannin, Jiraiya of the Sannin, Hinata Hyūga heiress of the of Hyūga clan, Naruto Uzumaki, Itachi Uchiha, Obito Uchiha, Anko Mitarashi, Orochimaru of the Sannin and while he’s not really a Ninja I still got a figure of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki.”

“Now I’m about to show you the people you should avoid at all costs.” Making the correct hand seal I said. “Transformation Jutsu!” First I turned into The Shredder then after a few moments I changed into Obito both with and without his orange mask then Itachi and finally Orochimaru.

“I get the Shredder due to him leading the Foot Clan but why the other three? I mean isn’t Orochimaru part of the Sannin?” Kind asked.

“Obito went crazy and wants to destroy this world when the woman he loved died when he was fifteen and due to his clan planning a coup Itachi was forced to kill everyone in the coup, however little did he know that someone used that opportunity to kill the rest of the clan leaving only Itachi’s brother alive and so he was deemed a missing-nin due to the knowledge of his clans coup being kept a secret. Finally there’s Orochimaru who performed inhumane experiments in secret to continue his search for knowledge and because of this he was dubbed a traitor to his village Konohagakure, but the ironic thing is that the version of Orochimaru that I know from the manga/anime did a lot to help Konoha due to the consequences of his actions after he was deemed a traitor.” I explained dropping the Jutsu. “All missing-nin are criminals with bounties on their heads but depending on their situation and crimes they might be able to join a different village.”

“So if three of those guys are so evil then why did you get stuff that represents them?” Eclipse asked.

“Because I didn’t know this was going to happen. If I did I wouldn’t have chosen them…well I might have kept Itachi as part of the list but we’ll never know so there’s no use complaining about something that’s impossible to change.” I shrugged.

“So who’s that Hagoromo person?” Star asked.

“Here in the Elemental Nations he’s the creator of Nindō. Of the Ninja Way and he’s known as the Sage of Six Paths.” As I said this everyone’s eyes went wide in awe.

“That’s definitely impressive” Aurora said.

Glancing at the clock I saw it was almost 10 and turned to the others who’d finished their meal. “Now that you know all the Shinobi who lends me their power now all I’ll say for now about the cloning tech is it’s a fusion of Orochimaru’s knowledge due to him being the creator of the base tech but it’s due to upgrades from Sheikah tech that I was fully able to make your new bodies.” Then I grinned. “You’ll have to save any other questions for later and I hope all of you found that stimulating because now it’s time to head to start your first day at the Academy.” A few groans were head but the girls still got up to fallow me. “Oh and expect to be woken up earlier tomorrow. Schools going to start at eight o’ clock sharp each day.” This time everyone groaned much to my amusement.

—Time skip. One week later, Noon.—

Now that things had calmed down a little I working in in my office wearing what would be my official Shinobi outfit with the exception of the mask I’d made which was sitting on a stand behind me. The mask had a black hood to cover my hair with a dark grey face mask with a glowing red feather that went from the bottom of my chin to my nose, to cover my eyes there’s is a metal visor with a neon blue line. I’d built in a way that I could take the visor off without taking the entire mask off. I also had a full suite of thin but strong chain mail under a dark green orange shirt and dark purple pants. I also had a light brown reversible trench coat that had several pockets on both sides and hidden seals each one holding some equipment or were connected to seals on my back that had equipment and dark blue shoes. I also had the first of the Hitai-ate (Forehead Protector) and a large bright red hat with the kanji for myth (神話) on it.

I put down a pair of scrolls that I just finished. One I’d keep on my person at all times the other would act as a mission request that I’d send into the void to act as my Token. The one I’d send out read "To any that find this write down the job on the lines at the bottom of the scroll that you’d like the Shinobi of the Hidden Phoenix Village to take. Know that we will need to be paid for our services and the more dangerous the mission the more expensive it will be and have the right to deny any mission if we feel that it is necessary. Ryu the Shinwa no Kage, 神話の影, The Myth Shadow.” Next to what I’d decided to use as my code name I placed my seal and the symbol for the village’s Shinobi which is a feather with traces of smoke floating off of it. Throwing the finished Mission Contract in the air it disappeared in a puff of smoke.

I was about to get to work on some other document’s I’d been working on when a received a message from the clones I’d sent to watch over the girls families. My eyes went wide and in a flash I was out of the room letting out a low curse. Arriving in the same training room I’d arrived in with the girls I saw twenty to figures sleeping. Looking at one of the clones who had a 2 on his shoulder I said. “#2 gives me your report!”

“We’ve got good news and bad news Boss. Which do you want first?”

“Just give me your report!” I growled. With what happened my patience was rather thin at the moment.

“Well we kept an eye on the girl’s families like you said and #4 over there.” #2 said gesturing to a clone that was checking Spitfire with a Medical Jutsu scan. “Suggested we make a few more to keep an eye on the other members of Aurora’s old organization. Nothing happened until five minutes ago when and you’re not going to like this, members of the Hidden Sound Village tried to assassinate everyone here, with the exception of those two who they tried to kidnap. Luckily Spectrum’s and Kind’s families weren’t targeted but #24-30 are still keeping an eye on them.” Looking over to where #2 was pointing I saw Vinyl Scratch and her best friend Octavia Melody. “The Sound Nin were tampering with the houses gas lines instead of planting bombs but the end results were the same.”

“How did they know about Spitfire and Soarin?” I asked.

“You remember Wind Rider?” A clone with #23 on his arm asked walking over. When I nodded he said. “I was created to watch him but turns out he was out of town this week, and when the others first noticed the Sound something didn’t feel right so I went to investigate. In his basement I found a hidden room.” #23 then pulled out a storage scroll. “Wind Rider is an ally of the Foot and the Foot is working with the Sound. I didn’t have a chance to grab everything because Wind Rider’s house was also set to blow, but I did grab most of the weapons, a computer, and a few message scrolls.”

“#23 you’ll now assigned to the T&I department. Get over there, get a new designation and assist the others with finding out where the hell Wind Rider is. I want a report on what you found on my desk by morning along with that bastard found and captured ASAP.” I ordered. “I’m going to go pack some things then leave the village for a few days. Once you know they’re ok wake them up and explain the situation to them, and spread the word that the village is on lockdown until I get back. I’ll be leaving within the hour. Once they're up the rest of you can choose which department to join for your new designation.”

All the clones nodded and #23 disappeared with a Body Flicker just as the girls ran into the room. “We heard what happened! Is everyone alright?!” Star asked.

#1 walked up a small smile on his face. “Their fine, we just placed them under a Genjutsu so they’d sleep though the whole thing.”

“Keep up the medical scans until we know with 100% certainty that they’re fine. If you find a poison extract it immediately and get it to R&D to find what’s needed to make the antidote if it’s one we don’t know about.” I ordered.

“Got it Boss.” All the clones that’d been on the mission said before returning to their work.

“Let’s go girls they’ve got everything well in hand.” I said and gently lead them out of the room where two clones with the kanji for teacher (先生) on their arms were waiting and joined us as we walked to the Academy.

“Hey Pops before we get back to the Academy I’ve got a question.” Spectrum asked.

“What is it?”

“How come these clones last so long? Aren’t they meant to be dispelled when their Chakra’s used up?” Spectrum asked.

I couldn’t help but grin and ruffle her hair. “Look who’s paying attention in school. You’d never been that observant at Canterlot High.”

Spectrum swatted my hand away. “Just answer the dame question pops.”

“Normally your right but mose these were created by a unique Jutsu that I created.” I said.

“And that would be?” She asked rolling her eyes.

“It’s from the Blood Release and I’m NOT going to be teaching it to anyone. Due to how dangerous it is I’ve labeled it as a Forbidden Jutsu.” I said staring directly into her eyes.

“Why is it so dangerous?” Phoenix asked.

“That…I’m not going to tell you.” I said.

“Then why do you keep telling us stuff that’s so important to keep secret?” Eclipse asked.

“It’s part of my personal Nindō. With family be as open as you want and only keep secrets when you feel it’s truly necessary. Don’t lie to friends but don’t be an open book. With clients be professional and only tell them what’s absolutely necessary, and all the while keep it as difficult as possible for your enemies to find information about you. Now I’ll be leaving for a few days to take care of a few things in about an hour so be good until I come back alright?”

“What about our families?” Pinkari asked.

“Hey considering what happened they’re my family to now and I gave the clones in there orders to make sure their ok.” I said with a cheeky grin. “The only reason I’m leaving right now is because what happened is forcing me to accelerate a few plans.” That’s when my gazed hardened. “The Foot is allied with a Ninja village here in the Elemental Nations. I’m leaving to try to get some allies of our own and I don’t know when I’ll be back, but it hopefully won’t take too long.”

Kind came over and gave a quick hug that the others quickly joined. “Be careful and…I love you Dad.”

“I will and love you too.” I said a small tear slowly rolling down my face.

As I sped away from Fekikugakure with my mask in its proper place a few questions bounced around my skull. “Was the Shredder in charge of the Foot? How did the Foot contact the sound? Why did they target the girls? Did they know of my existence?” And finally, “Who should be the first shinobi I try to get to join Fekikugakure?” This continued on until I was at the beach on the northern part of Phoenix Country looking out over the ocean to see the southern part Fire Country in the distance. Just as I was about to make my way over to the Main Land I got an update from a clone who’d found the home on the Lin Kuei. With a small smirk I activated Kamui and teleported to an ancient palace high in a mountainous region in the deep within the Land of Earth, but much to my surprise two people were waiting for me. Kuai Liang and Hanzo Hasashi, Sub-Zero and Scorpion both in their Mortal Kombat X attire.

“Ah so you are the man The Marked One told us about. I am Kuai Liang leader of the Lin Kuei and this is Hanzo Hasashi leader of the Shirai Ryu.” Kuai said as he and Hanzo did a polite bow.

Returning the bow I said. “I am Kohtaro Hanzō. It is an honor to meet the two of you.”

Kuai gestured to the side where a table with cups and a tea kettle waited. “Please sit, we have much to talk about.” Nodding I removed my mask and joined them at the table.

Once we all had taken a sip of the tea I asked. “When I arrived you mentioned someone called ‘The Marked One’, who is he?”

“No one knows exactly who he is, but all who call themselves Shinobi know the legends of the one who carries the Mark on his arms and face.” Hanzo said. “It is said he is the creator of ALL Ninjutsu throughout the Realms.”

“Two years ago he came to Hanzo and I in our dreams telling us that exactly a week after Orion meets Mars, one with the mark of a smoking feather will come to us asking for our aid.” Kuai explained. “Now this isn’t as big as you might think for my own mentor once spoke to him but about what I do not know.”

I nodded but what Kuai told me didn’t stop me wondering how this ‘Marked Ninja’ knew about me. “So why have you come to us?” Hanzo asked.

“Two weeks ago I was living as a civilian while I was getting things ready for the Hidden Village I was creating, then much to my surprise the Foot Clan appeared and set bombs to blow up the school that I attended. The only reason I could think of is that they were trying to assassinate one of my friends because of a few abilities they’ve gained recently but I don’t know who their target was or how the Foot found out about them but I’ve got a small lead and got some people working on it.”

“The reason I’ve come to find you is that I’d like to make an alliance between the Lin Kuei, Shirai Ryu and Fekikugakure.”

“What would this alliance entail?” Kuai asked.

“The usual helping out if we’re in trouble and if possible you could send someone to Fekikugakure to teach my Genin and I could come here or the Shirai Ryu temple to teach a few of your trainees.” I said releasing four scrolls from a hidden seal and handing two to Kuai and Hanzo each. “The one with the symbol for my village in red ink is my proposal and the one with the symbol in black ink is a way to contact me once you’ve made your decision.”

Both nodded and put the scrolls away. “What do you plan to do now?” Hanzo asked.

I grinned as I put my mask back on. “There are a few missing-nin that I feel deserve to rise from the ashes and prove that they shouldn’t be missing-nin.” I said simply before bowing one last time and used Kamui to teleport away.

—Meanwhile in Fekikugakure. Evening Star POV—

My new sisters and I listened to a clone of Father who told us to call him Zwei-Sensei as he started with the lesson on basic Fūinjutsu, but unlike most of the others Zwei-Sensei had somehow cut his hair so it was much shorted and had dyed it so it was dark red “Before we begin the main thing to remember is patients and precision. With Fūinjutsu if even a single line is out of place then the seal your making either won’t work correctly or simply fail to activate. Now because you’ve already got the basics of calligraphy down we’ll start with drawing a single use storage seal with a pencil. This way you can get acquainted with drawing seals before we move to the pen.”

Next to me I heard Aurora and Eclipse groan and plant their heads on the table. “Huh, would you look at that.” Blossom chuckled as she and the others started working on the seal. “I would have expected Spectrum or Pinkari to react like that not the former principles.”

Spectrum shrugged. “Working with a pen or brush isn’t that enjoyable but for some reason I’m not that bothered by it.”

Pinkari giggled. “And I just find Fūinjutsu really interesting.”

“Good for you.” Eclipse said as she got to work. “I just want to get back to Bukijutsu and Genjutsu practice.”

“Taijutsu here.” Blossom said. “I’ve always enjoyed seeing the payoff of good old fashioned hard work.”

“OI!” Zwei-Sensei barked from right behind Blossom. “Stop talking and get back to work!”

“Yes Zwei-Sensei.” Everyone chorused and returned to the class but despite trying to focus on two questions stayed at the back of their minds. “When is their family going to wake up and what is their father doing right now?

—Back with Kohtaro—

(Hmm who should I see first? Target one is in the Land of Hot Water and the other’s heading to Iwa) I thought as I ate a couple rabbits that I’d cooked over a fire. Then I got an update from a Clone in the Human World. Jerking my head up I stared into the woods a small smile appeared before cleaning up my small camp and using the Flying Thunder God Jutsu to teleport to Manehattan. I reappeared in next to a large warehouse with a couple clones relaxing around a manhole cover.

“Sup boss?” One sitting on a wooden crate asked.

“Not much mostly just wondering why none of you are fallowing them.”

“Are you kidding?” Asked a clone who was eating a hot dog. “There’s no way any of us are going down there. It stinks WAY too much for that and you’re the one with whose mask as a built in filter. You want to talk to em so bad you do it.”

“Gee thanks. Glad to know I have such helpful clones.” I said rolling my eyes. “Wait here. If this goes the way I think it will then you’ll be getting a new assignment.” Opening the manhole and dropping into the sewers. As I made my way through the sewers I was glad I’d put seals on my outfit to prevent fowl smells from sticking to it. Tracking my targets was refreshingly challenging as footprints were few and far between while the natural smell of the sewer hid just about all other scents. Once I’d made my way to the Turtle Lair I saw the mentor of the Ninja Turtles Splinter meditating next to a pond of water. Deciding not to interrupt him I sat down in front of him and started to meditate myself.

After about an hour Splinter said. “It is rare when we get visitors and it is just as rare when someone chooses to join me when I meditate without me telling them to. For that I must thank you.”

“Calming one’s spirit is important in our line of work. If anything I should be thanking you, I haven’t had a chance to do so in a few days.” I said.

Splinter nodded. “Well you are most welcome and what is your reason for coming here?”

“My name is Kohtaro and I’m creating a Ninja Village in the Elemental Nations called Fekikugakure or the Rising Phoenix Village and I would like to invite you and your four sons to join Fekikugakure.” I explained.

“How do you know of my sons?” Splinter asked raising an eyebrow.

Under my mask I grinned. “Who do you think I tracked to find this place?”

“I see, and what would we do as part of your village?” Splinter inquired.

“You would, be one of my advisors, a teacher at the Academy and if you’re willing you’d have a seat on the Ninja Counsel.”

Splinter looked at me for a moment. “There’s more to this isn’t there? What are you not telling me?”

In response I simply took off reached to the back of my helmet with both arms and activated the locking mechanism keeping the visor in the helmet, once I pulled the visor away Splinter looked shocked at my crimson eyes.

“A Sheikah.” He muttered then gave a small bow. “It would be an honor to work alongside the Sheikah. “

Putting the visor back on I handed Splinter a scroll. “This will let me know when you and your sons are ready. I look forwards to seeing you in Fekikugakure."

—many years later—

A small girl stood next to her Great-Grandmother as the two looked at a memorial stone. "Great-Great-Grandpa was an amazing man. Wasn't he GrandMa Kari?"

Pinkari last living daughter of Kohtaro smiled down at her Great-Grandchild Gleaming Armor Uzumaki. "Yes he was my little Gleam of Hope. Yes he was." As the two walked away a single sunflower pettal blew past them and landed on the stone.

"Here lies Kohtaro Hanzō. Bane of the Shredder and Orochimaru. He who healed Kaguya Ōtsutsuki of her Madness and loving Father of nine. May his soul watch over us and when the time is right rise may he be reincarnated and rise again like the Phoenix his legacy truly symbolizes as everyone deserves the chance to rise again and show that no one is truly bound by past wrongs."
