A Day in the Life of Sunset Shimmer Part 1

View Online

Winter was starting to creep up on Canterlot Highschool and despite this being her third time experiencing the cold season in her adopted home Sunset Shimmer still had to stop for a moment and stare at the world around her. Snow clouds were sweeping down over the town with no pegasus ponies pushing them into place. The last leaves of autumn still clung to the trees, no earth pony having run through the highschool grounds and cleared them away. Birds and animals had retreated to their winter homes with no one guiding them. Nature was doing all of this on its own.

And that still brought a sense of wonder to the unicorn's heart. This world she had chosen to stay in got by just fine without ponies doing everything for it and that was amazing to her.

“Um... Sunset.. are you alright?” asked the quiet voice of Sunset's kindest friend, the sound coming from behind the weather watching girl. “You've been just staring at the school for a while now...” muttered Fluttershy nervously.

“I'm fine Fluttershy, just enjoying the weather,” laughed Sunset as she turned towards her. Sunset Shimmer was ready to explain why to her friend but the sight of the shy girl stunned her. Fluttershy looked like her torso had doubled in size, the sheer number of layers of warm clothing the girl was wearing adding a surprising amount of bulk to the tiny girl.

“Oh I had no idea you like winter so very much Sunset,” said Fluttershy with a smile. Or at least Sunset assumed it was a smile, the unicorn couldn't quite make out her friend's lips given that half her face was hidden in the folds of a green turtleneck sweater. Fluttershy began to make her way up the steps to the school's doors, and having been pulled from her storm watching, Sunset followed.

“It's just so different to Equestria, it's nice to watch the first snow storms come through,” said Sunset, moving towards to open the door for her friend, the unicorn not entirely sure if Fluttershy could move her arms through so much sweater. The smaller girl happily strode through the opening that Sunset provided for her and for the briefest of moments Sunset could see the blush the cold had brought to Fluttershy's cheeks. Was it really that cold for her already?

“They don't have winter there?” asked Fluttershy as the pair walked down the crowded halls.

“Of course we do, it's just a bit different...” explained Sunset. “It doesn't just happen like it does here, all the ponies have to pitch in and make winter together.”

“Fascinating,” said Fluttershy with a smile just before she turned to Sunset and hugged her, having reached her locker and with Sunset still having some distance to go. “See you in class Sunset.”

“Um sure, Fluttershy,” stammered Sunset as she returned the hug with just a bit of awkwardness. Fluttershy was one of her dearest friends but years and years of isolation had made displays like this just a bit unfamiliar and awkward for the reformed villain. “I'll see you then...”

Sunset watched Fluttershy wave her goodbye for a moment before turning the corner to the hall her locker resided in, and just as she had suspected it looked like the tiny animal lover was having a bit of trouble getting her arm to drag around all the wool that was keeping her warm. Despite having a bad habit of saying just the wrong thing at the wrong time Fluttershy was a wonderful friend and Sunset was happy that she had managed to become so close to the girl that had often been the target of her misplaced venom just a few months ago. This world's Fluttershy may not have a necklace to prove it but Sunset was sure that the girl was kindness personified. So with an echo of the warmth of her friend's arms still around her Sunset quickly made her way to her locker.

Swinging open the door of her locker, not bothering with the lock as it hadn't closed right since the Fall Formal, Sunset briefly looked over the photos that she'd so recently stuck there. Pictures of her friends gathered together, of simple fun and crazy moments, even one candid shot of the 'pony up'ed Rainbooms as they'd unleashed their final assault against the Dazzlings during the Battle of the Bands a bit more than a month ago. Sunset's personal favorite picture was taped to the very top of the door, having been given that spot of honor just recently. In the photo Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity were crowded between two shocked looking girls with purple hair, the two Twilight Sparkles from two different worlds having been too shocked at seeing each other to really object as Pinkie Pie had pushed everyone together for a 'double-smarty-purple-pony-person-picture' as she'd called it at the time. That picture would never stop making Sunset smile.

“Giggling at that picture again dear?” asked Rarity, a knowing smile playing across her lips, making Sunset jump as she closed her locker. “You know that either Twilight would go to incredible lengths to get that little snapshot away from you.”

“Then it's a good thing they don't know I still have a copy isn't it?” replied Sunset with a smile, taking a moment to look over her fashionable friend. Rarity was, as always, impeccably dressed, wearing some kind of formfitting winter jacket and leggings that hugged her curves and had just a hint of fur to the collar and the openings of the sleeves. Colored a pale purple that complimented her hair the outfit made the clothing designer appear as though she was about to going skiing with a billionaire husband rather than attend class. Just as Sunset had finished her quick look over her friend she noticed that Rarity seemed to be doing the same to her, the fashionista's eyes roaming over Sunset's appearance. The designer's keen eyes and gorgeous outfit suddenly made Sunset feel very under-dressed in her old leather jacket and warm jeans.

As Rarity opened her mouth, no doubt about to try and drag Sunset Shimmer into 'modeling for her', a situation that always seemed to end up with Sunset or one of her friends ending up with arms full of new clothes Rarity 'just happened to have'. The bell for class rang, sending Sunset bolting down the hallway, smiling and yelling goodbyes to her generous friend. Sunset didn't mind that Rarity was always so excited to design new clothing for her and the others but at times she felt a bit guilty that Rarity would spend so much time and money on her, so a chance for escape was welcome. After all, the last time Rarity had had a look like the one she'd had just then the school's new Twilight Sparkled had disappeared under a pile of clothing that had taken Sunset, Rainbow Dash and Applejack a dozen trips to get home for her.

With that memory of Canterlot Highschool's newest student still in her mind Sunset slipped into her first class of the day, a class that she shared with Twilight Sparkle. The bookish girl had saved Sunset a seat next to her and that would mean she'd have questions for Sunset. A lot of questions. Not about the Maths class they shared, both would have the work finished in moments, and their teacher Mr. Cranky had always tolerated the pair quietly chatting after they'd finished. No, Twilight would be asking her about magic, about Equestria and about friendship. Sunset was only an expert on two of those and always felt like she hadn't quite earned the right to be teaching her new friend about the third. The unicorn had only had friends for a few months herself so far after all.

Sitting next to Twilight Sunset didn't bother to say hello, the new girl already had her nose in her work and Sunset had quickly learned that when Twilight started to study she was lost to the world. A couple of weeks ago Sunset had questioned her on this, asking if the work that Mr. Cranky gave out was harder than the work she'd been doing at Crystal Prep, Twilight had denied this, saying that it was a matter of getting it done fast enough to maximize the time she could spend talking to her new friend. And so Sunset started on her on work...

“Do you think the ambient magic levels around the school have been going up lately?” Twilight asked quietly when she noticed that Sunset had finished her work. “Because I've been investigating and it seems like my scanners have been picking up an increase over last month, but only for brief periods and the increase in marginal...”

“Twilight...” groaned Sunset, her pencil not having left her hand yet. “I must have told you a hundred times already that ambient magic tends to flux a bit based on the season and the lunar cycle.”

“Well yes but the levels have been increasing steadily every time and after the incident at the Friendship Games I'm just worried I might have changed something...” muttered Twilight as she pulled out a notebook that seemed to be entirely dedicated to the discussions the pair had during their classes together. As the curious girl flipped through the pages Sunset caught the briefest glimpse of a heart drawn on one of the later pages.

“Whoa, hold up there, Sparkle, I think I saw something worth investigating,” smirked Sunset as she reached for the notebook.

“Was it the energy collection formula? I was fairly certain I wasn't heading somewhere useful with that..” questioned Twilight as she quickly handed over the book, eager for the unicorn's input. As the book landed in Sunset's hands she quickly flicked to the page she had noticed and performed an overly dramatic chin stroking action that she hoped was a decent Starswirl the Bearded impression.

“Oh no Twilight, not that, this is so much more important...” said Sunset as she leaned in close to her newest friend, and being careful to shield the notebook from prying eyes around the room she spun the book back to its owner, tapping a doodled heart in one of the book's margins.

A heart that in flowing script read; “Twilight + Pinkie”

A heart that was followed by hastily written and crossed out names; “PinkiSpark, Twinkle Pie, TwiPie.”

“I think we have something a bit more serious to discuss than some shifting magic levels,” said Sunset to her now blushing friend.

“How did that... I have no... I mean...” stammered Twilight as she grabbed back her notebook, quickly slamming it shut. “I don't think about... Well I do but not... I mean...”

Sunset just took a minute to watch her friend mumble through a dozen half-denials and explanations, the girl's face getting redder and redder until Sunset was certain the girl would pass out.

“Relax, Twilight, your secret is safe with me,” smiled Sunset as she put her hand on the other girl's shoulder in what she hoped was a reassuring manner. “Pinkie Pie is a ton of fun, and I'd bet that half the school has had a crush on her at some point.”
“But... she's a... well she's a she... and so am I...” whispered Twilight to her smiling friendship and magic mentor.

“So? You humans make such a huge deal about that stuff here,” said Sunset with another smile, gently rubbing twilight's shoulder. “But back in Equestria there are so many more girls than boys if I'd only been interested in stallions I probably wouldn't have had a date until I was Princess Celestia's age.”

“So you've... you know... kissed a girl?” whispered Twilight, the information she'd been provided seeming to ease a bit of the worry out of her face.

“Well a mare technically, but yeah,” said Sunset, a touch of sadness in her voice as she quickly sketched out a symbol of two crossed wands in her own notebook. “Her name was Dancing Sparks and she was really nice, dark mane, long legs and well... a cute flank... she put up with a lot from me before my studies ended up making me push her away.”

“So you think it's okay that I like... Pinkie?” asked Twilight, the last word barely a whisper escaping the blushing girl's lips.

“I think it only matters if you think it's okay, Twilight,” smiled Sunset, pulling the new girl into a hug. “I think that's all that matters.”

The tender moment was interrupted by the sound of a ringing bell that demanded the pair break their embrace and move to their next set of lessons. As the two collected their notes, their books and their stationary Sunset noticed that Twilight looked a great deal more relaxed than she had at the start of the class. Which made what Sunset had to tell her friend a great deal harder.

“Hey, Twilight... There's something you probably should know about Pinkie if you think you're interested,” Sunset said as she gently pulled her friend into a less used hallway. “I don't know if Pinkie really does what we'd call relationships.”

“I'm not sure what you mean...” said Twilight with a curious look.

“Well it's just that I've heard about Pinkie spending time with a lot of people over the years, guys and girls by the way, but I think that for her it's more about the fun of it than about dating and romance,” Sunset explained, one of her arms grasping the other as she delivered the bad news.

“Sunset, after everything I went through at Crystal Prep, some fun sounds like just what I need,” Twilight said with a bit of a smile. A smile that had a layer to it that Sunset couldn't quite put her finger on. As Sunset watched Twilight rush off to her next class, home economics with the group's sugar powered prankster, she saw the bookish girl bit her lip. And all of a sudden that extra layer made sense to Sunset Shimmer.

“I'm not sure who I should be more worried for there,” laughed Sunset to herself as she slowly walked off to her next class.

Sunset was in no rush to reach her next class, the teacher had a miraculous way of always being late and most students at CHS knew they had some extra time before their classes with him. So Sunset took her time and eventually found herself standing with Applejack outside of the still closed classroom, the rest of their literature class milling about in the hallway.

“So how late do you think he'll be today?” asked Sunset, as she leaned back against the wall her farmer friend was using as a back rest.

“Well it's Thursday, so Ah reckon he'll be along about half way through,” answered Applejack, pushing her hat back up on her head so it no longer shielded her eyes. “You seen the others yet today, sugar?”

“Just Twilight, Rarity and Fluttershy,” responded Sunset as she looked down the hallway, trying to spot their wayward educator. Sunset enjoyed this class, even if it tended to be fairly short, human literature was something she'd discovered a great interest in since she'd embraced this world as her new home.

“Now that makes sense,” laughed Applejack softly, a grin spreading across her lips. Sunset wasn't quite sure what the farmer found so amusing and assumed it must be a human thing. “Is Twilight still chewing your ear off with magic questions?”

“Uh yeah, that's what we talked about,” lied Sunset, unconvincingly. “Just magic, magic, magic with that girl.”

“Riiight,” laughed Applejack. Twilight may not have asked Sunset to keep her crush a secret but Sunset wasn't going to tell anyone until the bookish girl was alright with it. Though the unicorn had a sneaking suspicion that Applejack knew already somehow. The stetson-wearing blonde seem to have a knack for noticing when people weren't giving her the whole truth and a way of making people want to tell her everything.

As Sunset could feel the farmer's gaze eating into her willpower she heard the sound of sneakers squeaking across the hallway, quietly thanking Princess Celestia, or whatever power determined good fortune in this world. The reformed villain turned to face the sound and spotted Canterlot Highschool's oddest teacher racing down the hallway. The tall man darted down the hall, his coat billowing out behind him, his sneakers squealing as he skidded to a stop outside the classroom.

“Sorry! Can't ever get the hang of Thursdays,” apologized the teacher as he opened the door for his class to enter, a pair of red and blue glasses falling from the top of his head to cover his eyes. “Always manage to end up late...”

“Y'all are always late Doc,” replied Applejack as she went through the doorway, chuckling softly. “Thursday's got nuthin' to do with it.”

“Oh now I don't know about that, Thursday's a tricky day Miss Jack, always seems to move in fits and starts,” said Dr. Whooves as he held the door for Sunset and the last few students to enter. “Thursday is a bit more wobbly than the rest of the week.”

Sunset could see Applejack rolling her eyes at their teacher as the pair took their seats. The man was brilliant when it came to history and literature, always seeming to have some insight that only someone that was there could have, but he was by far the strangest teacher at the school and could likely give Pinkie Pie a run for her title as strangest person in the school if he cared to. Applejack had once confessed to Sunset that she lived in dread of Pinkie and Whooves ending up in the same room, and Sunset couldn't fault her for her fear.

Literature class was fascinating for Sunset, not just because of the sheer variety of texts Dr. Whooves always had them reading, but because of Applejack's enthusiasm. Applejack was by no means unintelligent, and she was such a hard worker that her grades were always some of the highest in whatever class she was a part of, but she never seemed to think her studies were all that important. As long as she knew enough to keep the business side of her family's farm running Applejack was happy to never attend another day of class.

Except maybe to discuss books.

Literature was a secret passion of the farmer's that Sunset had great amount of respect for. Applejack had explained that after the harvest at her farm there wasn't all that much to do through the winter and so over the years the Apple family had accumulated the kind of library that would have make Princess Twilight swoon. Applejack had apparently taken to reading almost as quickly as she'd taken to farm work and had made her way through the entire Apple family collection at least twice. The farmer had even invited Sunset to see if there was anything she'd want to borrow for the winter break.

Since humans didn't have magic to occupy them as their society had grown many of them had turned to writing and if Sunset had to guess she would have said that a single year in the human world would see more new stories published than a decade in Equestria. Humanity had an almost desperate need to fill their world with an entirely different kind of magic through the written word, and Sunset loved them for it.

Sunset was pulled from her ruminations on human creativity when she heard Dr. Whooves asking her about the state of literature in Questria. The man had taken the existence of an alternate world filled with magical ponies in stride and had been eager to discover any correlations between the two worlds' fictions.

“Well we don't have as much fiction as you do here Doctor,” answered Sunset simply. “With so much time dedicated to magic and keeping the world running right there just weren't as many writers in our history.”

“Oh I'm so sorry Sunset, I know how much you seem to love a good book,” the Doctor laughed as he turned back to the rest of the class. “Now I want the rest of you to think about that for a moment, imagine a world that just doesn't have your favorite tales and discuss how you think that would change things...”

As the class began to pair off to discuss the type of world the Doctor had describe Sunset decided to take the opportunity to ask Applejack about something that had been nagging at the back of her mind lately.

“Hey Applejack, have you been seeing much of Rainbow Dash lately? I feel like she's been missing half the times I usually see her...” asked Sunset with a touch of worry in her voice. The unicorn hoped she hadn't accidentally offended the sports star.

“Ah have no idea what ya mean sugar,” stammered Applejack as she quickly looked away. “Ah mean she's been at our lunches, when we run in the mornin's, when the lot of us go out...”

“Not what I mean AJ, it's like she's avoiding me specifically, I know she's there when everyone else is, just not when we'd usually hang out alone,” pondered Sunset, not noticing Applejack's horrible attempts at deception, something for which the farmer was very glad.

“Uh now why would she be doin' that sugar?” asked Applejack, trying to get Sunset talking more so the honest farm girl wouldn't have to.

“I have no idea... maybe I did something... I am still really new at having friends,” muttered Sunset, so focused on her thoughts she didn't see Applejack sweating. “I suppose I could ask her at lunch...”

“And speakin' of...” said Applejack as the bell for the end of class sounded and Dr. Whooves sent his students off to lunch, promising to see them all next week, and closer to on time.

As the pair made their way off to CHS's large cafeteria Sunset remained so focused on thinking through her every action for the last few weeks, looking for some error she'd made that had sent her rainbow haired friend running, that she didn't see the tension slipping off Applejack's shoulders, the red head's questions having nearly forced the inherently honest girl to spill everything she knew. Applejack did all she could to keep her friends' secrets. She just wasn't good at it.

On Thursdays Sunset and Applejack were often the last of their group to make it to lunch and so the pair weren't surprised to see their friends having already claimed the group's favorite table. The normalcy of a chattering Pinkie Pie, a smiling Fluttershy, laughing Rainbow Dash and a sketching Rarity was broken by the sight of the group's newest friend banging her head against the table softly. Sunset shot Applejack a look of confusion as the pair took their usual places with their friends.

“Y'all alright there Twilight?” asked Applejack as she looked over the purple haired girl. Twilight responded with a brief thumbs up before continuing her head banging.

“Oh Twilight's fine AJ, she just made an oopsie during class and dropped something in our cake batter!” laughed Pinkie and she bounced in her seat. “It didn't do anything to the cake and it just got all gooey and we couldn't read what was on it anymore but Twilight said it wasn't important so it was just a silly moment that I can't stop giggling over, I mean it was meant to be a banana cake and what happens but everyone in the room goes slipping and sliding 'cause we were using real bananas and just like in the cartoons someone slipped and we all went tumbling around and cake went flying and people got splattered and Vice Principal Luna got a banana peel right on top of her head! And since there weren't all that many cakes left to be baked after all the fun there was sssooooooo much icing left over that we all just sort of gobbled it all up!”

The group collectively took a moment to marvel at Pinkie Pie's lung capacity, the girl having spewed out her entire recollection without a single pause to breathe. Sunset took an extra moment to try and determine how she and Rainbow Dash were going to handle a Pinkie Pie that had consumed even more sugar than usual in their last class of the day. As the unicorn turned back to ask the sports star if she had an insight on how to handle a level five sugar crazed Pinkie she saw her friend staring. Rainbow Dash had a remarkably intense look on her face, the kind of look Sunset had only seen on the girl as she stared down some obstacle or opponent. It was a look of determination and Sunset turned around to see what her friend was looking at so intensely.

Sunset couldn't see a thing except for the cafeteria doors slowly swinging shut. Maybe the unicorn had missed whatever Rainbow had been looking at because when she turned back to her friend she was looking away with a hint of embarrassment about her. What had Rainbow been looking at?

“Rainbow, what in the world were you looki-” said Sunset before being interrupted by her sport loving friend.

“Sorry Sunny, love to chat but it sounds like I need to help Pinkie burn off the sugar before she drives the whole gym nuts,” said Rainbow rapidly as she grabbed Pinkie by the collar and started to pull her away from the table and out the same doors that Sunset had just seen close.

“Ooooo! What are we gonna do Rainbow? Run around the school? Climb around the school? Oh! Are we going to swing around the school on magic ropes?! That would be so neat!” Sunset heard Pinkie asking as the pair disappeared down the hallway.

“Oh dear who does Rainbow think she's fooling with that little explanation?” chuckled Rarity as she watched the pair go. “Why I'd be willing to wager that if we were to go and look behind the gym's bleachers we'd see the two of them burning off frustrations rather than sugar.”

Sunset blushed just a bit at what her friend was implying, and Twilight seemed to bang her head on the table a bit harder at the thought. Half the school knew that Pinkie was will to help almost anyone 'relax' but there were surprisingly few people that would take her up on it. Not after the Whip Cream Incident. Sunset blushed a bit harder at that thought.

“Like you're one to talk Rarity, I recall you and Pinkie fallin' out of my closet a few weeks back, barely a stitch between ya,” smirked Applejack as she nudged the now blushing Rarity in the ribs. Fluttershy quickly put a bundled up sweater under Twilight's still banging head, earning a mumble of thanks from the girl.

“Oh now that is hardly fair Applejack! It was midterm week and you know how stressed I can get!” blushed Rarity, looking away from the farmer and towards Fluttershy and Sunset. Especially Sunset. “A lady does have needs after all...”

“Whatever y'all say Rarity, but if we want to get to class on time we'd better scoot,” said Applejack as she took a final bite of her lunch, an apple of course. “Wouldn't want you to be late for your gossip session with Coco.”

“A lady does not gossip Applejack,” huffed Rarity as she, Fluttershy and Applejack made their way out of the cafeteria. “Though she may have some juicy discussions about the state of the school's affairs...”

With a laugh Sunset turned back to the only remaining occupant of the table, who thankfully was no longer beating her brilliant head against anything.

“So I'm guessing that talking to Pinkie didn't quite go like you were expecting?” asked Sunset quietly.

“No...” grumbled Twilight through Fluttershy's forgotten sweater. “I knew just what I wanted to say and everything... but then all that craziness happened and I lost my list...”

“And without it you got all flustered and unsure of what you were going to say and just let the moment slip by,” said Sunset knowingly.

“How did you know?” asked Twilight as she looked up.

“You kinda aren't the first Twilight I've tried to help out,” smiled Sunset as she went around the table to pat Twilight on the back. “So I know that if you just manage to actually talk to her about it she'll probably be happy to run off with you to 'relax'”

Sunset would have been lying if she said she didn't get a bit of amusement out of the rampant blush spreading across the face of her newest friend because of that sentence. As Sunset left the table to head off to her own class the unicorn hoped that Twilight would be able to get her brain working again in time to get to her studies and that the studious girl would work up the courage to talk to Pinkie soon.

With Pinkie back on her mind Sunset's thoughts kept trying to drift off to a slumber party that Rarity had held not all that long ago... a party that Rainbow Dash had managed to acquire a bottle of whiskey for... a party that had seen Sunset and Pinkie pushed into a closet after a few too many shots had lead to a game of 'Seven Minutes in Heaven'... Sunset's growing blush almost match the color of her hair before she started to shake the thoughts of a very hands on Pinkie from her head. Sunset was only half successful and still had the showings of a blush as she almost bumped into the pink haired party planner as she bounced out of one of the closets next to the gym, the girl giggling happily.

“See you in the gym Dashie!” giggled Pinkie as she bounced by Sunset, the party girl's hand darting out to pat Sunset on the butt, winking as she went by. “You too Sunny.”

Sunset's blush returned with a vengeance, a disheveled Rainbow Dash sheepishly coming out of the closet Pinkie had so recently left. The blushing pair watch the party girl happily walking down the hall to the gym, singing a wordless song of joy and swaying her hips in a way that had to be deliberate.

“Pinkie Pie...” muttered Sunset, the unicorn desperately trying to control her blushing.

“Y-yeah, Pinkie...” Rainbow Dash muttered back with a smile and a blush of her own.

Silently the pair made their way to the gym and joined the students already there. Pinkie Pie had moved off to the bleachers and was cheerfully chatting Vinyl Scratch, though Sunset wasn't sure the DJ could hear a word Pinkie was saying through her headphones. Rainbow Dash had recovered a bit of her composure after whatever Pinkie had done to her in that closet, but just as the class was about to be split up into teams, Sunset noticed something she couldn't help but laugh at.

“Rainbow... your shirt's on backwards,” chuckled Sunset, having noticed that the rainbow colored lightning bolt was missing from her friend's shirt.

“Gyah!” yelped Rainbow as she quickly zipped shut the blue jacket that was her only shield from the cooling weather. Rainbow was blushing even more as Sunset tried to control her laughter.

As Mrs. Biceps, a hulking woman that somehow put her equally muscular, and much more sensitive, son Bulk to shame revealed that the class would be 'undertaking the age old rite of dodge-ball' as she put it, Sunset was surprised by Rainbow Dash not crying out in absolute joy. The athletic girl had adored the almost violent game for as long as Sunset had been going to CHS, and it had become expected that as soon as a teacher said the words 'dodge-ball' Rainbow would let out an enthusiastic 'Aww yeah!' in response. Sunset turned back to her friend, hoping for some explanation, only to be picked up by the back of her jacket and placed on one side of the room, as was Coach Biceps' custom when dividing teams.

As Sunset watched Rainbow be moved to the opposite side of the gym she saw that her friend was still blushing fiercely, and seemed to be trying to avoid looking at the unicorn. The red head was a little perplexed by Rainbow's sudden shyness over Sunset having caught her and Pinkie post-excitement, normally the group had to deal with Rainbow trying to give them all a play-by-play review of her numerous conquests, including when she and Pinkie would tempt fate by sneaking off at school.

With the teams divided Sunset was careful to survey the opposition she was facing, which today included a number of problem targets. Somehow Spitfire, Soarin and Bulk had all ended up on Rainbow's team, putting four of the class's most lethal dodge-ballers together. Meanwhile Sunset's team had such illustrious players as Trixie, Sandalwood and Wiz-kid, though at least she had Lyra and Bon-bon, both of which could be terrifying when pushed into the right mood. Sunset noticed that Pinkie and Vinyl were missing from either team...

Balls were passed out, players moved around the room seeking the best targets and angles, while Sunset tried to subtly move away from the dangerous Spitfire and get close enough to Lyra and Bon-bon to rally some kind of offense. Sunset need not have bothered, as Coach Biceps sounded the start of the game Bulk, Soarin, and Rainbow all launched rapid strikes right at the inseparable pair. Bon-bon made a desperate attempt to dodge the volley that had been launched at her only for the final shot made by Rainbow to connect with her midsection and double over as the wind was knocked from her. Sunset broke into a dash, trying to get closer to the now isolated and enraged Lyra, only to have Spitfire almost take her head off with a delayed throw. Too far to make an accurate shot Sunset hurled the ball that she'd been given in Rainbow's general direction, hoping to at least distract one of the three that had now moved to take aim at Lyra. Her throw bounced wide and Sunset watched Spitfire direct a green haired girl Sunset didn't know to retrieve the wayward ball.

And it was then that Sunset noticed the grim elegance of Spitfire's plan.

Sunset's team were throwing haphazardly at random targets, dodge-balls thrown as fast as they were grabbed, or in the case of Sandalwood not thrown at all. Spitfire's team however had become dangerously organized, students were darting around the room to retrieve balls and pass them off to one of Soarin, Bulk or Rainbow, who were systematically working their way across the room, knocking out anyone they caught in their sights, while Spitfire was carefully aiming her shots to either remove members of Sunset's team she deemed dangerous, or to herd people together to make easier targets for Rainbow's group.

Every time Sunset tried to move for a ball, or get her team in order, Spitfire was there with distracting throws that forced Sunset further and further from the rest of the students on her side of the gym. As the game played out Sunset managed to pick off a few of her opponents, as did her team, but in the end it came down to just the unicorn facing Soarin, Spitfire and Rainbow Dash. These were not good odds in Sunset's eyes, and worst of all Spitfire had managed to arrange the flow of the game so that as Sunset stood alone she also found herself without a single dodge-ball. Sunset stared down her impending doom, determined to at least take one of them with her.

“Now!” shouted Spitfire as she, Soarin and Rainbow burst into motion. Sunset ducked Spitfire's first shot, feeling the breeze the ball made as it whizzed over her head, lifted her leg to avoid Rainbow's low ball, and finally turned, desperately throwing her hands forward to catch Soarin's throw.

“You're out boy!” barked Mrs. Biceps as Sunset barely held on to the dodge-ball she'd managed to snag, sending out Soarin to the bleachers, and before their coach had even finished her announcement the unicorn launched the ball back into the chest of an off balance Spitfire.

The odds had suddenly evened, with only Sunset and Rainbow staring each other down from across the gym as the rest of their class watched from the side of the room. There was a tense moment as both girls worked out where the nearest ball was, that tension snapping as the both darted for their weapons. Sunset was forced to dive for a ball just out of her reach, her front sliding across the floor of the gym grasping at the red sphere. But as she turned her head and chest, her arm cocked to throw, she saw Rainbow already had her dodge-ball, and a clear shot at her. But the rainbow haired girl didn't throw, instead hesitating as a blush rages across her cheeks.

“Oh wow...” Sunset just barely heard Rainbow say as the unicorn sent the dodge-ball she had grabbed flying into Rainbow's chest, and knocking the sports star flat on her butt.

“Looks like I win Dash,” smiled Sunset as she walked across the room to help her fallen friend up.

“Uh yeah...” stammered Rainbow as she took Sunset's hand, not letting go for just a moment too long as she got up.

“Woooo yeah Sunny!” came the ecstatic scream of Pinkie Pie as she came running across the gym, pulling Sunset and Rainbow into a tight hug. “That last bit was so amazing how you both dashed everywhere and Sunny was all 'Whoosh!' and diving across the floor!”

As the three friends gathered up their bags and made their way out of the school together Pinkie Pie insisted on recapping the entire game for the both of them, with abundant sound effects thrown in for good measure.

“How did you even see all of this Pinks?” asked Rainbow curiously. “I didn't even see you in the gym after the game started.”

“Oh I was under the bleachers with Vinyl, I had a great view of everything!” said Pinkie with a huge smile. For a brief moment Sunset was wondering what Pinkie had been doing under the bleachers but the party girl's next words ended her train of thought and sent a blush to the unicorn's cheeks...

“I especially liked the part where Sunny flashed you her butt at the end!”

Not a Morning Person

Dawn was Sunset's worst enemy. As her alarm clock screamed out in a blaring tone that always managed to make the unicorn cringe, Sunset stumbled out of her nice warm bed and fumbled for the clothes she'd laid out the night before. Throwing the oversize shirt she used for pajamas across the room Sunset tugged on a pair of loose exercise shorts and a sports top, wondering for the hundredth time why she had ever wanted to take Princess Celestia's place. Raising the sun meant you had to be up before sunrise, and Sunset was having enough trouble keeping to her morning exercise schedule. Cursing that she didn't have time to make herself a coffee, Sunset just barely managed to navigate the stairs that took her from her apartment down to the street. And much to Sunset's annoyance Rainbow Dash and Applejack were already waiting for her, bright eyed and bushy tailed.

“Mornin' there sugar,” greeted Applejack in a tone that was infinitely too cheerful for this early in the morning. Sunset could only grumble incoherently, her brain not fully awake yet.

“Y-yeah morning Sunny,” said Rainbow quietly. At least Rainbow wasn't acting like this time of the morning was perfect the way Applejack was, and as a show of thanks for this Sunset lurched forward and hugged her friend.

“Too early, kill me,” mumbled Sunset, the sleepy girl using Rainbow for support before groaning out a zombie like cry of “Beeeeeeeeedddddd.....”

Applejack had burst out laughing as she watched Sunset cling to their rainbow haired friend. It took a moment for Sunset to break the hug and start to jog down the block, Applejack laughing all the while. Rainbow Dash however was desperately trying to keep imagines of a sleepy Sunset and a bed out of her mind, and failing terribly. It took the athletic girl longer than she would ever admit to start jogging behind her friends.

“How do you do this everyday AJ?” groaned Sunset as the farmer was suddenly next to her, easily matching her pace.

“Shoot Sunset, ain't nothin' special, harvest time we're up so early we wake the roosters,” chuckled Applejack as the pair turned a corner and continued their jog, Rainbow lagging a few paces behind them.

As the three friends left a number of blocks behind them, working a great circuit through the streets around Sunset's apartment, they passed other morning people running, cycling or just strolling through the morning air. The familiar faces passed in a blur for the unicorn, who was much more interested in the light layer of snow that had coated everything through the night. Sunset enjoyed what may have been the first snows of the winter season, taking in as many white dusted sites as she could before the rising sun melted it all. There would be a great deal more snow through Canterlot's winter, but by that time it would be too cold for the group's morning jogs, and so Sunset took it all in. The reformed villain looked to her side, smiling to Applejack, who seemed to be enjoying the rare sight as much as she was, and turning to her other side to Rainbow Dash's usual spot in their procession only to find her friend still a bit behind her and AJ.

“What's keeping you Rainbow?” asked Sunset with a smile and joking tone, speeding up the jog just a little. “Not slowing down already are you?”

“Aw don't mind her sugar, she's probably still poutin' over the thrashin' you gave her in gym,” said Applejack as she sped up to match the unicorn. “Pinkie wouldn't stop goin' on about it.”

Sunset hoped that the ever competitive Rainbow wasn't going to take a game of dodge-ball too seriously for too long, but the unicorn had seen Rainbow hold a grudge over a lost game of rock-paper-scissors before... So Sunset was determined to try and get back in Rainbow Dash's good graces before the morning was out. With a nod to AJ Sunset fell back a bit, moving to run next to Rainbow. It had been harder than she'd expected to match the speed of the other girl for as Sunset went back it had seemed like Rainbow was trying to keep her running in front.

“So is the morning jog as rough for you as me today?” asked Sunset lightly, smiling at her friend. The unicorn believed that maybe the cooling weather was slowing the girl down, as it appeared that the chill in the air had brought a blush to the sports star's cheeks.

“Maybe...” muttered Rainbow as the group rounded the last corner of their route, Sunset's building just a few blocks ahead. “Been a bit off my game I guess...”

“Hey it's cool Dash, we all have our off days,” Sunset encouraged, the smile never leaving her face. “And you know how these runs go; jog a few blocks, showers at my place, enough coffee to get us going and we're back in fighting shape.”

“Y-yeah.. showers sound good...” stammered Rainbow as the three stopped outside Sunset's apartment. As they climbed Sunset's stairs the unicorn couldn't help but notice that Rainbow had moved ahead of AJ and was quickly following her. As an extra step towards mending bridges Sunset offered Rainbow the shower first, her friend eagerly accepting. Maybe too eagerly because as Sunset moved towards her kitchen to get her morning coffee brewing she just managed to catch a glimpse of her rainbow haired friend tearing her shirt off before the bathroom door had closed. And for the briefest of moments it looked as though Rainbow had been looking back over her should at Sunset as she did.

Blushing just a bit, a thought rattled through Sunset's head... had Dash been biting her lip?

Sunset's blushing thoughts were interrupted by the whistling of her coffee pot, and the stunned unicorn suddenly found herself fumbling the mugs she'd grabbed for herself and Applejack. Through an act of agility that would have made Pinkie proud Sunset managed to set the mugs on kitchen counter and grab the pot in one motion, quickly pouring black coffee for Applejack. As the farmer brought the steaming mug to her lips she was looking around Sunset's once sparse apartment.

“Y'all have been making this more like a place ya actually live in lately sugar,” Applejack said approvingly. As Sunset poured her own mug of caffeinated heaven, she too looked across her home and had to agree. Before Princess Twilight and her friends had snapped Sunset out of her mad quest for power the unicorn's apartment had just been a place she'd go to sleep and plan, and had been lacking not just the feeling of home that it now possessed, but also anything that evil Sunset hadn't deemed absolutely vital.

“I guess I have...” responded Sunset with an embarrassed smile. Most of Sunset's furniture was new, purchased more so that her friends would be comfortable when they'd visit than for Sunset's benefit. A table they could all share a meal around, a sofa large enough for all six of her friends, and a huge TV that Rainbow Dash had nearly fainted at seeing for the first time. But as pleasant as the furniture she'd acquired was, it was the little things around the room that had slowly turned Sunset's apartment into a home; pictures with friends, nick knacks that Pinkie had practically forced on Sunset, and scattered bits and pieces that had fond memories attached to them.

“But there's somethin' that's been buggin' me Sunny, how in the world do you pay for it all?” questioned the farmer as she sipped at her mug.

“Oh, when I came through the portal the first time I brought some money with me from Equestria,” said Sunset with a smile. “I thought that some bits and a bag of gems would help me get on my feet here, but it turned out they were a lot more valuable here”

“Bits? Gems?” said Applejack with a questioning look.

“Gold coins and rubies mostly,” said Sunset as she fumbled in a draw for a moment and pulled out a single golden bit that she'd kept as a memento, rolling it to Applejack across the counter. In her shock the farmer almost let the coin roll right by her, just barely able to slap her hand down on the shiny object.

“How much more valuable?” asked Applejack quietly.

“I think after all the auctions and stuff it was something like three hundred million...” answered Sunset sheepishly. “I had no idea gems would be worth so much here, we just put them on clothes in Equestria...”

Applejack spent a long time staring at Sunset. Long enough for Sunset to finish her own coffee and start on a second cup. The farmer did keep sipping her own coffee so Sunset assumed she was okay, and thankfully Rainbow Dash's return from the shower pulled Applejack from her moment and to the now vacant shower. Sunset was quick to make Rainbow a mug of coffee swimming with cream and sugar, just the way the athlete liked it.
“Nothing like a good shower after a workout,” said Rainbow cheerfully, her exercise gear replaced by some of the spare clothing that Sunset has insisted that Rainbow and AJ keep at her place. “Except maybe a nap.”

“I know just what you mean Dash,” replied Sunset as she quickly downed the last of her coffee, humming happily as she felt the caffeine flow through her veins. “Oh did you enjoy the view while we were running?”

“W-wha? No! I mean yes! I mean maybe! I mean... What view?” said Rainbow panicking, her face turning red again. Sunset looked at her friend closely, the scrutiny making Dash turn an even brighter shade that almost matched the unicorn's hair.

“The snow Dash, it'll be gone by the time we make it to school,” explained Sunset as she reached over and rested her hand on her friend's forehead. “You feeling okay? You're kinda warm...”

In later years Rainbow Dash would claim that in that moment she had said something charming, witty and awesome, but in the present she was frozen by the unicorn's touch, barely capable of holding on to her coffee, let alone forming a proper sentence. Sunset stayed there a moment, feeling her friend's temperature and growing increasingly worried as it seemed to keep going up.

“Okay now you seem pretty hot...” said Sunset as she went over to her sink, dosing a cloth in cold water.

“Y-you're pretty hot...” muttered Rainbow Dash, her voice just too quiet for Sunset to make out across the room, but loud enough to get the unicorn to turn back around with a quizzical look. “Your shower I mean! Your shower's really hot... I'm still hot from the shower...”

“If you're sure Dash...” said Sunset as she let cloth rest in the sink. Rainbow continued to blush like mad as Sunset returned to the seat next to her. Sunset was happy to sit with her friend as they enjoyed their coffees, Rainbow Dash keeping her face buried in her mug and being quieter than Sunset could ever recall her being. The unicorn could only hope she'd patched up any damage her unexpected victory the day before had brought about.

Applejack was finished with the shower quickly, a habit the farmer had developed from having a big family, a small water heater and no time for “primpin'” as the girl put it. The last to take her shower before the trio would head to school, Sunset was overjoyed when AJ told her that there was still hot water left for her. As Sunset closed the door on her friends she just barely heard Applejack asking Rainbow Dash a question that was followed by a cry of panic and thump.

“So'd ya'll enjoy the Sunny view today Dash?”

“Shut up AJ...”

Friday morning's classes were subjects that Sunset had taken an interest in when she'd first come to the human world, and she still studied chemistry and computer science every year. The only problem she'd been having with those classes lately was that her friends weren't studying them with her and so Friday morning had become harder than she'd thought possible. The subjects were still interesting, but by the time Sunset made it to the cafeteria to reunite with her friends she couldn't quite keep herself from pulling Rarity and Pinkie into a hug.

“Celetia's beard I missed you girls,” confessed Sunset with a face full of crazy pink hair.
“Darling! As much as I enjoy our hugs there is a time and place for them,” exclaimed Rarity, briefly returning Sunset's embrace before extricating herself from the red head's arms with an embarrassed blush.

“I missed you too Sunny bunny!” yelled Pinkie as she leaped up from her seat and pulled Sunset into a tighter hug. Sunset found herself grateful for the slight height advantage she had over Pinkie, as the party girl had recently developed a habit of accidentally pushing the faces of people around her own height into her generous cleavage. The few extra inches Sunset possessed let her keep her chin just above Pinkie's shoulder. After Pinkie had finished trying to squeeze the life out of Sunset and she'd taken her place next to most of her friends, Applejack nudged her in the ribs and pointed towards their missing member.

“Ah reckon Twilight's gonna take another run at it,” whispered AJ to Sunset, and when the unicorn spotted their friend she couldn't fault Applejack's reasoning.

Twilight Sparkle was a woman on a mission. Sunset had never seen the girl look so determined without a checklist in her hands. Twilight rapidly crossed the cafeteria, Applejack tipping her hat in support and Sunset giving their newest friend a confident thumbs up as the girl came up behind her pink haired crush.

“Pinkie Pie, we need to talk-” started Twilight before she found her arms pinned to her sides and her face thrust into a pair of bountiful breasts.

“And now Twilight's here!” screamed Pinkie in joy, the party girl oblivious to the shorter girl's half flailing arms. “I missed you Twilight! I mean I know we had class together this morning but that was hours ago! Which is like years in Pinkie hug time! Why can't we all just have every class together?! Then we'd never miss each other! Except when we were at home... but we could all sooo live together and not miss each other! Unless we were sleeping... but we could all cuddle up and share a bed!”

“Pinkie, darling, the poor girl does need to breathe,” explained Rarity with a quiet laugh.

“Oh! Right!” gasped Pinkie as she pulled Twilight's face from her chest, her glasses missing as Twilight grinned like a fool. “So Twi-twi, would you cuddle up and sleep with me?”

Sunset could almost see the smoke coming out of Twilight's ears as the poor girl's brain caught fire. Pinkie was staring happily at Twilight as the bookish girl's brain desperately scrambled for something, anything to say, only for her brilliant mind to fail. The intellect of Twilight Sparkle had been overcome by the cleavage of Pinkie Pie.

And she kinda liked it that way.

“Y'all had a good start there Twilight...” said Applejack as Pinkie bounded away across the room, having spotted another friend, as Twilight couldn't bring herself to move, or suppress the embarrassing smile still playing across her face.

“Yeah, you got out like half a sentence before Pinkie boobed you,” added Rainbow Dash, the athlete guiding Twilight to a seat at their table. “That's more than I usually get when she's like that.”

“Don't worry darling, you'll get her eventually,” said Rarity with a smile. “After all, we shall all be spending the night together after class, provided of course that dear Sunset is still permitting us to make use of her home as the venue for our slumber party.”

“Of course I am Rarity, you know I'd never miss one of our weekends,” confirmed Sunset with a smile.

“Darling you do know how to keep a lady happy,” said Rarity with a smirk before she grabbed her things and motioned for Sunset and Applejack to join her. “Just our last little class and you are all mine.”

“S-sure Rarity... just try and keep the stuff you want me to model down to one bag this time?” pleaded Sunset, Applejack rolling her eyes at Rarity.

“No promises darling.”

“Sunset, darling I've been working on a new line that you would look absolutely ravishing dear,” said Rarity cheerfully as Sunset, Applejack and she worked through their economics problems. “You simply must let me make you a set.”

The unicorn groaned and brought her head down on to her desk, hoping that playing dead would distract her overly generous friend. This was the fifth set of clothes this month that Rarity had decided Sunset would look amazing in, and at this point Sunset had given up on fighting her friend on point. Rarity gave until her friends' closets hurt, and on any other day Sunset would have tried to redirect the fashionista to one of the other members of the group, but in their business economics class the only other target was Applejack, and Rarity had long since given up on getting the farmer to wear anything outside of her work clothes.

“Rarity how in the world do you have time to make me more clothes?” asked Sunset. “You've got class with us, Pinkie's parties on the weekends, and you're running your on business. When do you sleep?”

“Darling, you know that I always find time for my dear friends,” deflected Rarity, the designer sketching in the design book she was never without. “And this would be as much for my benefit as yours, the new line isn't quite ready and seeing it on someone with your figure would be very helpful...”

As Rarity gently lowered the small pair of glasses she always wore as she worked Sunset suddenly felt very exposed. The designer was practically devouring the unicorn with her eyes, determining measurements by sight alone and altering designs in her mind. Sunset felt more naked under Rarity's gaze than if she had been sitting in class without a thread of clothing about her.

“Stop scarin' the girl Rarity, she already models half your stuff, no need to put her in more of that froofy stuff,” grumbled Applejack as she angrily erased some mistake in her work.

“Oh well than I suppose you're volunteering dear?” smirked Rarity as spun her design book around and showed Applejack the line she'd been talking about. It was worrying to Sunset that Rarity was carefully hiding the design from her, but the face that Applejack made at seeing it scared the unicorn for a moment. “Though not your usual fare I'm sure you'd look quite dashing.”

“Sorry Sunny, y'all are on your own...” mumbled Applejack, the blood draining from her face.

“Huh? I didn't say I was going to...” objected Sunset for a moment before Rarity looked back at her, the desginer's eyes wide and glistening with the beginnings of tears.

“Oh but Sunset! Without your help I'll never have this design ready in time for the holidays! It would be the worst possible thing!” moaned Rarity as she pressed herself against Sunset's side. Between the puppy dog eyes, the sad voice and Rarity's pouting lips Sunset knew she was beaten.

“F-fine Rarity... I mean how bad can it be?” asked Sunset as she looked to Applejack for support. Sunset found only fear in her friend's eyes.

As their class drew to a close and Rarity dragged a fearful Sunset and a pale Applejack out of the school, the girls quickly found the rest of their group. While her friends were perplexed by the look on Sunset's face Pinkie Pie was quick to remind them all of why they were there.

“Yay! Party at Sunny's place!”

“Pinkie Pie, I know parties are your thing, but how did you do this?” asked Sunset as she stared at the interior of her apartment. The unicorn's apartment had been decorated with streamers, balloons floated lazily across the room and the group's sleeping bags were somehow already arrayed around the room. Sunset had been certain that she'd locked the door on her way out in the morning... and that Pinkie had been in class all day.

“Darling, it seems that Rainbow has managed to misplace the sleeping... oh, there they are..” said a very confused Rarity as she entered the apartment behind Pinkie. To Sunset's dismay, the designer was carrying three separate bags as entered, and the red head was certain that at least two of them were full of things her friend was planning on convincing her to wear. “Pinkie strikes again I assume...”

“But how?!” yelled Twilight as she dashed into the room, her own purple sleeping bag already in what had become her spot. “That was in my car! My locked car! We had class together all day! YOU HAD NO TIME TO DO THIS!”

Twilight was suddenly right next to Pinkie Pie, grasping the party girl's shirt and staring deeply into the girl's eyes. The group's newest member hadn't been exposed to Pinkie's particular brand of madness as the others had. Twilight wasn't adjusting to the crazy very well. In her cheerful way, Pinkie was simply smiling and giggling at the curious girl. The giggling proved to be Twilight's bane, the sound suddenly reminding her that she was mere inches from her crush. And that her hands were pressed against Pinkie's bountiful, bouncing boobs.

Twilight panicked, stammering out apologies but not quite able to step away from her crush.

“Y'all have been in here two minutes and Twi's already yellin', blushin', and looks like Pinkie just asked her to eat her pie,” deadpanned Applejack as she walked in Rainbow Dash, the pair hauling a large box of snacks between them. AJ's words made Twilight freeze and Pinkie giggle even more.

“Jacky that would be silly! The party's just starting!” laughed Pinkie, the excited party girl leaned in close to Twilight, her voice suddenly husky and promising. “Maybe later...”

Twilight had panicked before. This time she fainted.

“I think you broke her Pinks...” smiled Sunset as she caught the falling bookworm, easing her down to the over-sized sofa.

“You're invited too Sunny,” smirked Pinkie before pulling the red head into a sudden and passionate kiss. Sunset nearly joined Twilight in dream land. Fluttershy had been the last to join the party, blushing wildly as she saw Pinkie break the kiss and wink at her as well.

“And I haven't even opened the booze yet,” chuckled Rainbow as she pulled a large bottle of whiskey from the box she and AJ had set down, earning a groan from the farmer. “Won this off Soarin last week!”

“Darling... do you not recall what happened the last time you brought that particular type of liquor?” asked Rarity with a blush that was soon shared by every member of the group save Pinkie. Sunset certainly remembered, a half dozen shots had resulted in the unicorn being pushed into a closet with Pinkie... followed by being pushed into that same closet again a few minutes later with Pinkie and Fluttershy... and a camera...

“Oh! Oh! I do!” yelled Pinkie as she dashed into Sunset's kitchen, threw open a cabinet and pulled forth twin bottles of tequila. “That's why I got these too!”

“Sugar are y'all nuts? Twilight ain't exactly a drinker...” said Applejack, ever the straight arrow of the group. The farmer had more to say but lost the words in her throat as she watched Fluttershy stride across the room, grab one of the bottles from Pinkie Pie. The group watched in shock as their animal loving friend threw the bottle's cap across the room and took a deep, deep drink of the Mexican liquor.

“Yay...” giggled Fluttershy as she set the bottle down, her cheeks already turning red.

“And now I've seen everything...” muttered Sunset, the unicorn already a touch concerned about the direction the night was heading...

“Aaah!” screamed Fluttershy, the inebriated girl throwing herself against Sunset, desperately hugging her as a poorly animated monster appeared in the horror movie the girls had decided on watching.

“It's okay F-flutters...” stammered Sunset, hugging her friend back, a touch frightened by the tentacled shark beast currently munching its way through a boat on screen. It had taken an extra three shots of whiskey just to convince Fluttershy to watch this with them, and the animal lover had insisted that Sunset be there to 'protect' her. As the frightened girl's hand suddenly found its way to Sunset's breast the unicorn was afraid that if she didn't keep Fluttershy away from the whiskey then she'd be the one that needed protecting...

“Aaahh...” moaned Fluttershy in Sunset's ear, making her blush as the smaller girl pressed her chest against Sunset's arm. Fluttershy's hand hadn't left Sunset's chest, but had begun slipping lower, toying with the hem of Sunset's shirt. “Sunny...”

Sunset, having had a few shots over her own throughout the evening, was having trouble processing her current situation. Her friends were all around her, lost in the cheesy movie, oblivious to the fact that a drunken Fluttershy was almost molesting the unicorn. The red head felt Fluttershy grabbing her hand and guiding it just a few inches up under her shirt. The animal lover's skin was remarkably soft, and Sunset couldn't help but run her hand across her friend's side. Fluttershy kept her face buried in Sunset's shoulder, moaning softly at the unicorn's gentle touch.

“I wish they were watching...” whispered Fluttershy, her hand finally sliding up under Sunset's shirt... only to pull away as the drunken girl jumped at the sound of Rainbow Dash's voice. Sunset made a mental note to thank Rainbow for the unintended rescue.

“Oh come on! That's not even scary!” cried Rainbow Dash before downing a shot of whiskey. “Not that anything can scare me.”

“Now ah call bull on that Rainbow,” laughed Applejack, who had despite her early protest had been drinking with the rest of them. “Ah seen y'all scared before.”

“As if AJ,” snorted Rainbow, smirking at the farmer.

“Well then y'all wouldn' mind puttin' that to the test would ya?” taunted Applejack, the group had lost interest in the movie at this point, excited to see the latest contest between the competitive pair.

“Bring it on farm girl,” said Rainbow Dash, a touch of bluster leaving her voice as she looked past Sunset. Yet again Sunset missed whatever the athlete had been looking, turning around too slowly to catch it.

“Then y'all can put on that thing Rarity was showin' me in class,” smirked Applejack, Rarity squealing with delight at getting the energetic athlete into one of her outfits. “Unless y'all are chicken...”

All eyes were on Rainbow as she weighed her options. She could either give herself over to the task of modeling Rarity's outfit, or admit to being afraid to in front of her friends. A long moment passed before Rainbow Dash downed another shot and pulled Rarity out of the room with her.

“AJ, didn't Rarity scare the hell out of you with that design today?” asked Sunset, the unicorn subtly putting some distance between herself and the still blushing Fluttershy.

“That she did Sunny, and now neither of us have to wear the thing tonight,” said Applejack smugly, and with Rainbow Dash suddenly screaming for mercy from Sunset's bedroom the unicorn was very grateful for that fact.

“Sunset, darling, I recall saying I wanted you to model this for me,” said Rarity as she poked her head out of Sunset's bedroom. “But I must retract my request, while I'm sure you'd look stunning Rainbow Dash is just so very perfect for this...”

“I am not going out there in this!” cried Rainbow, hiding out of sight in the bedroom.

“So you are afraid Dashie?” asked Pinkie innocently.

“Guess ah win then,” taunted Applejack with a smile.

“Oh screw that...” grumbled Rainbow as she stepped out of the bedroom, well aware her competitive streak was being played on by her friend.

Each and every jaw in the room rapidly fell open at the sight of the rainbow haired teenager. The 'outfit' was little more than scant pieces of lacy fabric that left very, very little to the imagination. Thigh length stockings of dark red fabric were attached to matching panties that hugged Rainbow's hips, a darker patch of fabric creating the image of a heart on the athlete's hip. Thin lines of lace raced up Rainbow's sides, partly hidden by the girl's folded arms, before joining a bra that pressed her breasts together, forming deep cleavage that the lightly endowed sports star would not have otherwise had. It was the final piece that caught Sunset's attention the most though. A dark red collar, looking to be made of leather, had been wrapped around Rainbow's neck, secured by a small heart shaped lock. Rarity had wanted her to wear that?

“I-I thought you were making these for the holidays Rarity...” stammered Twilight, her eyes wide and cheeks red.

“Twilight, darling, I know you're rather naive in matters of the bedroom but you must know that people give all sorts of gifts...” smirked Rarity as she appreciated the response her outfit had gotten.

“Oh wow Dashie, you look so hot!” giggled Pinkie as she bound across the room to more closely inspect her friend.

“Ah have to admit, ah didn't think ya'd go through with it Dash, guess y'all win our game,” admitted Applejack, pulling her hat across her face to hide her heated cheeks.

“Game?! This was supposed to be a game?!” asked Pinkie Pie, her suddenly serious face somewhat undermined by the fact her hands had grabbed Rainbow's breasts. “It can't be over already! More game!”

“Geez Pinkie, fine,” grumbled Rainbow Dash. “Let my tits go and we'll play some more... You can even go first...”

“Awww... I can't do both?” sniffed Pinkie as she released Rainbow.

“Nope, 'cause I dare you to... give Twilight a lap dance,” smirked Rainbow Dash, looking straight at her egghead friend.

“Oooooo that sounds fun!” giggled Pinkie, sauntering across the room towards her impending audience, missing the thumbs up that Rainbow was flashing Twilight.

“Do I not get a say in this?” asked Twilight desperately as Pinkie was suddenly straddling the sitting girl's hips.

“Of course you do silly, I'll stop if you really want me to,” smiled Pinkie, pulling her shirt off as she spoke, her boobs straining against her bra. “Do you want me to stop Twi?”

“N-no...” muttered Twilight, making Pinkie smile and slowly start to gyrate her hips just above Twilight's, the party girl's breasts getting closer to Twilight's face every second.

Sunset and the others had grown dead silent as they watch Pinkie dance, the surprisingly nimble baker's dance sending each of them racing through memories of the times they'd seen Pinkie's 'assets' as close as Twilight now was. The unicorn couldn't help but blush as Pinkie undid her bra and began pressing her back against Twilight, Pinkie's arm now the one thing keeping everyone in the room from seeing her topless. Pinkie threw her now discarded bra across the room, the piece clothing landing on Fluttershy's face and earning a cheerful cry from the drunken girl. Sunset watched Pinkie turn back around, guiding one of Twilight's hands up to her still gyrating butt. Twilight squeezed and Pinkie threw back her head and moaned louder than was probably necessary, throwing her arms around the smaller girl, pressing her front to Twilight's to hide her chest from the rest of the room. Twilight was blushing all over, every bit of skin Sunset could see on her new friend was turning scarlet with excitement, especially as Pinkie leaned in over the smaller girl's face, her mouth hanging open and her tongue licking at the air.

“I hope Twi-twi enjoyed her show,” Pinkie moaned before pulling Twilight into a brief but heated kiss.

“Dayum girl...” swore Applejack as Pinkie broke away from Twilight and took a small bow, deliberately giving Twilight a momentary look under her skirt.

“Okay that time you definitely broke her Pinks...” blushed Sunset as she moved to the blushing Twilight, waving her hand in front of Twilight's eyes.

“Aww but I was gonna dare her to do stuff to Flutters,” pouted Pinkie for a moment, pulling her shirt back on.

“Darling I doubt Twilight will be able to think for some time, let alone participate in our little game,” giggled Rarity.

“Okie dokie loki, then I dare you to do a body shot off Applejack,” laughed Pinkie.

“What? Now hang on a second there Pinkie,” stammered Applejack, her stetson falling from her head in shock.

“Oh don't be such a spoil sport darling...” said Rarity with a smirk as she crawled across the room, grabbing the pieces she would need for her dare on the way.

Rarity was quick to push the blinking Applejack down on to her back, glaring her friend with a terrible venom as AJ tried to get back up. Applejack wisely fell back to the floor as Rarity pushed a slice of lime between the farmer's lips.

“Be a good girl and hold still...” threatened Rarity as she shoved Applejack's shirt up, leaving a line of salt just below her still concealed breasts. Sunset could actually hear Applejack swallowing in fear from across the room.

Rarity put the bottle of tequila she'd grabbed to her lips, throwing her leg over AJ's hips at the same time. As she straddled the muscular farmer Rarity leaned down and agonizingly slowly licked the salt from Applejack's chest, her eyes locked on Sunset as she did. Laughing softly from the feeling of Rarity's lazy lick Applejack's head began to rise only for the designer to push it back down, her small, agile fingers resting on the farmer's throat. Rarity finished for little show by taking the lime from Applejack's quivering lips and throwing her head back as she bit into the fruit.

“Awesome...” gasped Rainbow as Rarity picked herself up from the still lying Applejack. “Remind me to take you out drinking with me Rares, the clubs would love you.”

“Rainbow! A lady does not go to such places,” objected Rarity as she took her place back on the sofa with Sunset and Fluttershy.

“Sure, like you learned that anywhere but a club,” scoffed Rainbow, her arms still trying to conceal her half-naked appearance.

“S-so can ah get up now?” interjected Applejack from her spot on the floor, Rarity suddenly shooting the farmer a look that made it clear she could not. “Or not! Floor's comfy...”

“So who's next?” asked Sunset nervously, very aware of her position between a drunken, amorous Fluttershy and a suddenly intimidating Rarity.

“I believe it's your turn to entertain us Sunset dear,” purred Rarity. “As luck would have it the outfit Rainbow is wearing is not the only interesting thing I brought with me...”

“Oh yes please...” giggled Fluttershy as she scooted closer to Sunset, the unicorn just managing to slip out of groping range.

“Come along darling,” ordered Rarity as she stood and pulled Sunset to her feet, the designer having locked her hand around Sunset's wrist. With Applejack still cowed by Rarity's gaze, Rainbow unable to do anything but blush, and Fluttershy actively pushing Sunset past her and towards the bedroom Sunset had few options for rescue, but desperately pursued them.

“Help?” begged Sunset, looking to Pinkie and Twilight. Twilight was no help, the bookworm's eyes unfocused, her mouth hanging open just slightly, and Pinkie was actually waving the unicorn goodbye. Sunset's last sight of her friends as Rarity pulled her into the bedroom and closed the door behind them was the apologetic gaze of Applejack, her head finally having left the floor.

“Undress. Now.” demanded Rarity, pushing Sunset towards her bed. The designer's gaze had become something between cold and hungry, the way Rarity was looking at Sunset made her feel as though she were already naked and forced Sunset to blush.

“Um Rarity, you'd kinda have to turn around for that...” said Sunset quietly, her legs bumping into her bed as she took a step back from the other girl.

“Oh no darling, I need to make sure I had all your measurements right before we get you dressed, and I can do that while you strip,” smirked Rarity, never looking away from Sunset as she opened one of her bags.

Rarity was a force to be reckoned with in everyday life, she had a way of getting what she wanted no matter what stood in her way, and early in their friendship Sunset had learned that a drunken Rarity was twice as dangerous as a sober one. To oppose Drunk Rarity was to court death. And so Sunset slowly began to undress...

“Oh yes, take your time dear, no need to rush this,” purred Rarity as Sunset pulled her shirt up, blushing as she took the garment off and set it aside. The unicorn was acutely aware of Rarity's eyes devouring the sight of her exposed skin. As Sunset undid her jeans she felt a hand gently striking her behind, the shock making her straighten. Again Rarity was staring, a devious little smirk on her lips as she made another demand of Sunset. “Do be a sweetheart and bend at the waist when you remove those dear.”

Blushing still, Sunset did as she was told, turning so she wouldn't fall onto her bed the unicorn was forced to accidentally provide her captor with a view of her rear as she changed. Bending at the waist as instructed Sunset pulled her jeans down and off her legs, displaying her red panties to Rarity. Sunset hesitated as she straightened back to a standing posture, unsure if she should continue undressing.

“I'll leave you a little bit of dignity Sunset and let you change in privacy now,” said Rarity as she stepped past the unicorn and laid the outfit Sunset was to wear on the bed. “Just don't take too long or I shall come back and get you...”

“O-okay Rarity...” whimpered Sunset as watched Rarity leave the room, certain that if the fashionista had to return a grope happy Fluttershy would be the least of Sunset's problems.

“Good girl...” said Rarity as she took one last look at the near naked unicorn, closing the door behind her as she left.

With the distracting designer gone Sunset looked at the clothing she had been forced into displaying to her friends.

“She wants me to wear this?” whispered Sunset to herself, blushing even harder than she had been under Rarity's inspection.

“Do not make me come back in there!” shouted an increasingly grumpy and drunk Rarity, her fist striking Sunset's bedroom door. The thump telling Sunset that she had delayed her reveal for as long as she could.

“C-coming!” blurted Sunset as she opened the door, taking a few hesitant steps out into the next room.

“Woo! Take it off!” cheered Fluttershy, making Sunset blush.

“But that would be such a waste darling,” purred Rarity as she looked over her creation.

Sunset had come out of her room wearing what amounted to a sheer lace corset, the fabric wrapping around the unicorn's chest, stomach and pelvis, hinting at nakedness as the material was just transparent enough that anyone for came close enough would be able to see the skin beneath. The outfit was colored a purple so dark it bordered on black, and came with matching elbow length gloves. It was the boots that were giving Sunset the most trouble though. Six inch heels descended from Sunset's feet, tight leather hugging her all the way up to her mid-thigh. The poor girl could barely walk three steps without stumbling.

“Happy Rarity...?” asked Sunset quietly, her hand sliding up to clutch at her arm.

“Almost darling,” said Rarity, holding out her hand to their farmer friend. “Camera Applejack.”

“Et tu, Applejack?” groaned Sunset as AJ quickly passed Rarity a cell phone.

“Relax dear, it's your phone, you alone will have these shots,” purred Rarity as she took picture after picture of the scantily clad red head.

“Look can we just go to bed? Or at least move on with the game...” begged Sunset as she stumbled to the sofa.

“Oooo! Game! Game! Game!” cried Pinkie, bouncing around the room. “Just one more Sunny! Please!”

“Fine Pinkie...” submitted Sunset, wracking her brain for something to challenge one of the group. It took the tipsy unicorn a moment but she eventually decided that she would follow Rainbow Dash's example and try to help her newest friend in a similar way. “Twilight, I dare you and Pinkie to do seven minutes in heaven.”

“Wait, what?!” half-screamed the only recently recovered bookworm, her face lighting up with yet another blush.

“Oh fun, fun, fun!” laughed Pinkie as she started to push Twilight towards Sunset's bedroom, licking her lips as she went. Sunset was certain that Twilight was about to make some protest about the situation but the girl's words died in her throat, Pinkie nibbling at her neck as they went. To her credit Twilight at least managed a sound that was something close to a complaining whine as Pinkie closed the bedroom door.

“Ah reckon they might be a bit more than seven minutes...” mused Applejack as the sound of Twilight squealing came through the door. “Time for bed?”

“Sure, I'll just grab Rainbow and I some spare stuff from the laundry,” reasoned Sunset, yawning for a moment before she suddenly found herself pressed against a wall.

“Oh no you will not Sunset,” growled Rarity, the designer's hands pinning Sunset's arms to the wall. “We need to know if these are comfortable to sleep in after all...”

Sunset was suddenly convinced that lacy lingerie was perfect sleepwear.

“Yes Rarity,” blinked Sunset as her friend pulled away, only to be replaced by Fluttershy pulling her towards her sleeping bag.

“I call Sunny cuddles,” said the normally shy girl, smiling evilly as she pulled Sunset down to the floor.

“O-okay...” stammered Sunset as the girl's took to bed for the night, alcohol still swimming in all of their veins.

Sunset's first thought the following morning was that sunlight hurt, the splitting head ache of a hangover shattering her mind. Her second thought was a question regarding why Fluttershy was in her sleeping bag and pressed against her.

Sunset couldn't help but wake her friends as she screamed her third thought of the day.

“What the hell am I wearing?!”

Hangovers and Admissions.

Pinkie Pie was singing a cheerful wordless tune.

Pinkie Pie was singing a cheerful wordless tune, and Sunset wanted to strangle the girl.

“Darling, please, stop,” growled Rarity, her head pressed against Sunset's table. “Not all of us shake off a night like that...”

Twilight was quick to grumble her agreement with the designer, the group's newest member having buried her head in the cushions of Sunset's sofa to escape the light of day.

“Aww come on, it's not that bad,” said Rainbow Dash, pressing a cold glass of juice to her forehead. The athlete was very nearly Pinkie's equal in terms of hangover recovery, something that Sunset was a bit jealous of.

Twilight had seemed to take offense at Rainbow's taunt, the brilliant girl pulling her head from the sofa, striding across Sunset's apartment and standing by a window directly across from the athlete. Twilight's glare and bloodshot eyes screamed pure hatred to Sunset, the unicorn subtly motioning to Applejack that they should move...

“Don't you dare egghead...” said Rainbow, staring down Twilight as she took hold of the curtain that was Rainbow's only shield from a light that was far too bright. “Please?”

Twilight's vengeance was swift and terrible. Rainbow Dash screamed and dived away from the now open curtain, rolling across the carpeted floor as though the sun's rays would turn her to ash. Her point made, Twilight closed the curtain and resumed her investigation of the underside of Sunset's sofa cushion.

“Twilight's a bit mean when she's hung over...” gulped Sunset before moving back into the kitchen and pouring herself another cup of coffee. Caffeine would save the unicorn from the evils of the morning.

“Ah'm just wonderin' how she's hung over from just two shots...” said Applejack, the chuckled that accompanied her words cut short by Twilight's grumpy face springing up to glare at AJ. The farmer went silent and hid behind her stetson.

With AJ retreating and Rainbow climbing back into her seat Sunset took a moment to look over her other friends. Rarity remained at her position on the table, the poor girl having had more to drink the night before than any of them. Pinkie Pie was cooking happily, frying whatever she'd pulled from Sunset's freezer and promising a cure for their 'morning grumpies'. Sunset was just happy that she'd been able to convince Pinkie to wear more than just the apron that now dangled from her neck. The party girl had come out of Sunset's bedroom wearing nothing but a pair of panties earlier in the morning, and had been extremely reluctant to change that.

Sunset was having a rough time remembering what they'd all gotten up to the night before, but the unicorn had been quick to congratulate herself when she saw a blushing Twilight follow Pinkie out of her bedroom earlier. The new girl had deserved some fun and Sunset was happy that she'd helped nudge her in that direction. While it had seemed that Twilight had started her morning happy if in pain, Fluttershy was another story. Fluttershy had still been cuddled up to Sunset when the unicorn had woken everyone with her shocked scream, and the shy girl had taken a moment to realize that her face was pressed against Sunset's lace covered boobs. Fluttershy's reaction had been fairly predictable, she'd screamed and jumped half way across the room. Fluttershy was still blushing, and she seemed very determined to keep a large amount of distance between herself and Sunset.

“You okay Fluttershy?” asked Sunset gently, smiling at her friend. Sunset may have been a bit embarrassed about waking up half naked with Fluttershy but it wasn't the first time two members of the group had ended up cuddling through the night. It was in fact a rather common occurrence if Pinkie Pie brought anything to share. Sunset was at least glad that last night hadn't been a repeat of the 'special cupcakes' incident. None of them had been able to look at each other for a week after that one...

“Fine!” squeaked Fluttershy, hiding behind her hair.

As everyone sat down to eat the greasy, hangover curing meal that Pinkie Pie had prepared Sunset took a moment to look at her cell phone. The poor unicorn suddenly found herself blushing the same shade as Fluttershy.

She'd completely forgotten about the photos.

“So Pinkie, how's Twilight in the sack?” asked Rainbow Dash as the athletic girl put her plate into Sunset's sink. Sunset was fairly certain that Twilight was about to either strangle Rainbow, or faint. Possibly both at the same time.

“Well she's shy, and Twi just wouldn't put her hands places 'til I moved them there, but she's still fun!” giggled Pinkie, the party girl finally dressed and fiddling with her phone. “But since we didn't do much I'll let you know next time.”

“Didn't do much? Darling you were dragging her into bed,” said Rarity skeptically.

“Pinkie's Golden Rule,” sang Pinkie as she went towards the door, kissing Rarity on the cheek as she went. “Now, Pinkie's got a DJ to play... Bye girls!”

Pinkie was quick to dance out the door, her eyes glued to something on her cell phone. Sunset looked over to her blushing bookworm friend, the other members of the group already looking at her.

“Shit Twilight I'm sorry...” apologized Sunset, the unicorn moving over to hug her friend. Pinkie had very few rules about relationships, sex or partying, but her one important one; 'Pinkie's Golden Rule'. Pinkie was all about fun, including naked fun, but she was keenly aware that as she and her friends had grown older some interesting substances had started to appear at her parties, and so Pinkie had declared 'No first times if someone's drunk'. The bubbly girl would strip in front of someone, kiss them like their lives depended on it, and even go all the way to the very edge of sex, but she'd never cross that line if someone was impaired. The Golden Rule meant no one could ever claim to not have known what they were doing with Pinkie. And it incidentally meant that everyone in the room but Twilight had been sober as they'd asked Pinkie to join them in bed. Sunset included.

“Can we not talk about it?” groaned Twilight, leaning into Sunset's shoulder. “We made out... but she wouldn't... more...”

“So y'all just need to ask her without the booze sugar,” smiled Applejack. “Ain't like she'll turn ya down.”

“Yeah! First time I asked she didn't even wait until we got out of the school,” smirked Rainbow Dash, earning groans from Twilight and Rarity.

“Girls, as much as I appreciate the advice, I don't know if I'd have the nerve without the alcohol...” said Twilight sadly, the glasses wearing girl gathering up her sleeping bag.

“Nonsense darling, you need only be direct once, and then she'll be all yours,” smiled Rarity. “One heartfelt, romantic confession and voila!”

Sunset could almost see that scenario playing out in Twilight's head, and couldn't help but chuckle a bit as she saw Twi pull out a small notepad and start scribbling. The girl's helped her gather her things and wished her good luck before saying good bye. As Sunset hugged her newest friend she did her best to tell the girl to not over-think what she was going to do about Pinkie. The twenty five point list the unicorn noticed on the notepad telling her that the advice was probably falling on deaf ears.

“Girl just needs to do something brave, get Pink's attention,” said Applejack as she closed the door.

“Yeah, like show up at Pinkie's place in one of those crazy outfits Rarity slapped on us last night,” joked Rainbow.

“I thought they looked nice...” said Fluttershy quietly, blushing.

“Speaking of, Sunset would you be a dear and fetch them?” asked Rarity, the designer fixing Sunset with a firm look that made Sunset feel rather uncomfortable... and strangely thrilled.

“S-sure...” stammered Sunset, scrambling to her bedroom to retrieve them...

“We may be competing in this darling, but I do think you need to be more direct,” Sunset overheard Rarity say as she returned from her lingerie gathering mission. “She's wonderfully sweet, but not the most perceptive.”

“She ain't wrong sugar, girl's thicker than Dash is,” said Applejack as Sunset left the bedroom.

“Hey!” objected Rainbow.

“Who's not perceptive?” asked Sunset as she placed Rarity's lingerie on the sofa and joined her friends. For a moment Sunset was worried she'd somehow offended her new friends by trying to join the conversation, as they'd all gone remarkably quiet...

“The girl I like...” whispered Fluttershy, just loud enough to be heard.

“Anyone I know?” asked Sunset with a smile that she hoped was comforting. It didn't seem to work as Fluttershy was quick to retreat behind her hair. “Maybe I can help?”

“Ah don't know if Fluttershy is ready to tell everyone who the girl is, but I reckon you'd be a good person to ask,” said Applejack as she gently nudged the shy girl. “Tell Sunny 'bout your girl Flutters.”

Fluttershy took a moment to try and control her blush before she finally reappeared from behind her pink hair. “She's really smart... and she wants to help people so much... I mean she's had some problems before, but she's really trying to get past it... and she's so beautiful...”

“Sounds like you're nuts about her,” smiled Sunset. “I'm surprised she hasn't noticed yet, she must be as dense as AJ was saying.”

“Sugar, y'all have no idea...” muttered Applejack, biting her lips shut.

“You should just do something to show her, like bring her flowers or something,” said Sunset, resting her chin on her hand as she tried to both think of a way to help her friend and puzzle out who this mysterious love interest was. Twilight maybe? That would explain Fluttershy's reluctance to admit who it was, their be quite a love triangle between her, Twilight and Pinkie...

“Oh darling, that wouldn't work, dear Fluttershy has already been rather forward with her without luck,” said Rarity with a bit of a smirk. “I'm afraid nothing sort of Fluttershy pushing the woman against a wall and ravishing her is going to get the point across.” Fluttershy blushed wildly and retreated behind her hair again at Rarity's suggestion.

“Ah don't know how well that would go over with her...” said Applejack nervously.

“It sounds kinda exciting to me,” admitted Sunset with a hint of color coming to her cheeks. “Being pushed into some empty room, a girl pressing up against me... It's just so... dirty and passionate and hot...”

Sunset's friends were staring at her again. Applejack was blinking at the unicorn, shocked that her friend was excited by such a thing. Rainbow Dash was trying to hide a laugh behind her hands, clearly the sports star thought that Sunset had been reading too many of Rarity's books. Rarity had a worrying smirk on her face, like a cat that had been left alone with a sleeping mouse. Fluttershy was blushing, stammering and shaking, clearly trying to say something and failing.

“My first marefriend did something like that to me before we started going out...” blushed Sunset. “It may have made an impression on me...”

“Sunny, you must tell us that story some time...” giggled Rarity.

“Yeah, but maybe some other time,” said Rainbow as she lifted the still stammering Fluttershy from her seat. “Flutters promised she'd help me practice my trickshots today and I kinda need her conscious for that...”

It had taken the friends several minutes to gather Fluttershy's and Rainbow Dash's sleeping bags and spare clothes. If Sunset had been more perceptive during the packing she may have noticed Rarity handing Rainbow a bundled up set of red lingerie before wishing the two girls goodbye. With the others gone Rarity made her way to Sunset's kitchen and poured drinks for the trio, coffee for Sunset and Applejack, and a cup of English breakfast tea for herself.

“Darlings, I really must apologize to both of you,” said Rarity as she set the warm beverages before her friends. “I may have gotten a bit out of hand last night.”

“Shoot Rarity, ain't like no one's ever done a body shot off me before,” dismissed Applejack with a wave, the farmer taking hold of her coffee and gulping down a huge amount of the steaming drink.

“I was referring to my shall we say... forceful behavior,” clarified Rarity, a small blush creeping across her pale cheeks. A similar blush spread across Sunset's cheeks as she sipped at her own coffee. While the alcohol of the previous night and made much of the experience a blur the unicorn could remember bits and pieces of being near naked in front of the designer.

“I-it's fine Rarity... we were all a bit drunk...” said Sunset around her coffee mug.

“Shoot if ah had a buck for every time one a y'all did something crazy after the whiskey came out ah'd be able to buy another farm,” smirked Applejack, the farmer the undeniable drinking champion of the group.

“Yes, of course...” said Rarity quietly.

The trio found themselves sharing an awkward silence, both Sunset and Applejack realizing that they may have stumbled on something a bit more serious than a night's drunken escapades. Rarity looked downcast, some how both ashamed and disappointed at the same time. The designer's hands were clasped tightly between her legs and she was desperately trying to avoid eye contact with either of her friends. Just as Applejack was about to ask the designer about what was on her mind the farmer's phone let out a piercing ring.

“Sorry girls...” muttered AJ as she answered the small device, walking towards the other side of the room.

Sunset looked over at Rarity, trying to figured out what was going through her friend's head, trying to think of some way to help her. Rarity still hadn't looked up from her clasped hands, and it seemed like she hadn't noticed Applejack's slight departure. Sunset was sure that if she had noticed their friend leave them to answer her cell phone then Rarity would have been quick to admonish the farmer. Rarity had a pet peeve about people talking on their phones while others shared their company.

“They did what?!” shouted Applejack into her phone, shocking Sunset from her thoughts. “Ah'll be right there! Y'all keep the cattle out of the house 'til ah get there!” In less than a minute Applejack had grabbed her sleeping bag, not even bothering to roll it up, before bolting out the door, the only explanation she gave being that her sister and her friends and been doing something involving industrial blow torches and pumpkins.

As the door slammed shut Sunset slowly edged her way back to Rarity, sitting next to her friend and gently placing an arm around her shoulders. “Rare's it's alright, I mean sure you got a bit intense last night, but it's not like anyone got hurt or anything,” said Sunset as she held her friend. “Plus... well I did look kinda good in that lacy purple thing you put on me.”

Rarity looked up, staring into Sunset's eyes. “Darling, you looked so very far beyond 'kinda good',” said the designer, as though Sunset had just spouted some horrible blasphemy. “You looked absolutely stunning! Ravishing! Why if I had the chance I'd...” Rarity's voice seemed to die in her throat at the end, as though she'd just realized how far she'd gone.

“Y-you'd what Rarity...?” asked Sunset quietly. Sunset found that she either couldn't look away from the designer's intense eyes or didn't want to. Sunset had little choice in the matter as Rarity pulled away.

“Nothing dear...” muttered the pale girl as she moved away from Sunset.

“No, no, you started this Rarity,” said Sunset as she walked up behind her friend. “You were going to say something, so say it”

“Sunset...” said Rarity as she turned to face the unicorn. Rarity hadn't used a pet name. Alarm bells started ringing in Sunset's mind. “I have some very... specific urges...” Rarity began to explain, staring into Sunset's eyes again. “I want to control people... I want to make them do just as I say and... I want to make them my servants... I want to dominate them... it makes me feel so awful but I want to so badly... and when I saw you wearing that lingerie...” the designer's voice died off again, tears forming in her eyes.

“Rarity...” said Sunset as she pulled her friend into a tight hug, holding her close. Sunset just held her friend as she started to cry softly, Rarity desperately holding on to the unicorn as she cried out her shame. After a few minutes Sunset gently pulled back from the designer so she could look into her eyes again. “Rarity, I know you, and I know that you'd never let an... urge... like that hurt anyone, if anything you'd end up showering someone you controlled with fancy clothes and who knows what else.” The unicorn smiled as she gently wiped a tear from Rarity's eye and asked, “I'm guessing you've never even looked into this kinda stuff have you?”

Rarity gently shook her head, sniffing in a strangely refined manner.

“There are plenty of people that are into that kinda thing, and I'm guessing a lot of them would be happy let you order them around,” smiled Sunset, the unicorn trying to pull the designer from her embarrassment. Humans always seemed to get so secretive, embarrassed and ashamed over sex, and Sunset had been doing as much as she could to dispel these feelings in her friends. The look in Rarity's eyes showed that Sunset wasn't having as much of an effect as she'd have liked...

Sunset was not going to let her friend feel ashamed about what she wanted.

“Tell you what Rarity.... How about just for today... I'll let you boss me around...” Sunset said with a blush.

Rarity's squeal of joy quickly climbed into pitch that Sunset was certain got the attention of every dog in the city.

Indulging the Designer

View Online

Sunset was starting to think this may not have been the wisest idea of her life. Since the unicorn had suggested that she would let Rarity take charge of her for the day her designer friend had been wearing a smile that made Sunset worry. It was a small, evil smirk that, combined with Rarity's half lidded eyes, implied a very interesting day. As Rarity ushered Sunset into the small building that doubled as Rarity's home and workplace that devilish smile only seemed to intensify. Sunset was going to say something as she came through the door, only for Rarity to hold a finger to her lips before the unicorn could make a sound.

“Sunset, wait here,” said Rarity, her tone firm and commanding. The way the designer had uttered that last word seemed to glue Sunset's feet to the floor and the unicorn found herself waiting as Rarity left the room. Sunset blushed slightly as she watched Rarity leave. She had to have been swaying her hips that way on purpose.

Sunset's heart was pounding in her chest, the unicorn unsure of what was about to happen. During the drive here Rarity had given Sunset numerous chances to retract her offer, saying that her friend was under no obligation to do this, and that if she became uncomfortable she could stop it at any time. Rarity had stressed that last point, but Sunset had said again and again that she would be fine. But now with a simple three word command Rarity had undone the unicorn's surety. Sunset wanted to indulge her friend, but at the same time she wasn't sure she'd be able to handle it. Pinkie had always told Sunset that is was the most uptight people that were the most intense in bed, and since Pinkie had managed to pull each of their friends into 'bed' before, including Rarity, Sunset was certain she had been speaking about the designer. Sunset blushed as she realized how much that idea excited her.

Several minutes passed before Rarity returned to the waiting unicorn. The designer had changed her outfit which wasn't surprising to Sunset, Rarity would change her clothing whenever she had the chance. What was surprising to Sunset was what Rarity had chosen to wear; she had discarded her typical skirt in favor of a tight pair of leggings, jet black and made of some material Sunset couldn't identify, Rarity also sported a shirt that hugged her curves, the tight fabric and plunging neckline accentuating her breasts and drawing Sunset's eyes to her cleavage, and just below where the neckline stopped a single strap of red leather wove back and forth across Rarity's torso, before plunging down to her hip. Sunset's blush returned as she realized Rarity had been watching Sunset's eyes follow the the strip of leather.

“I shall assume that the way your mouth is practically watering that you appreciate my little ensemble, darling,” said Rarity with a smirk as she stepped closer to the stunned unicorn. Sunset had been so distracted by her friend's new look that she hadn't noticed the garment bag Rarity had slung over her arm until she passed it to her.

“I-I do...” stammered Sunset, fumbling with the bag. “It must have taken a lot of work I mean...”

“Not at all, just a little something I'd thrown together just in case,” said Rarity as she slowly ran a hand along Sunset's arm, her fingers dancing across the unicorn's jacket before reaching up and lightly brushing Sunset's neck. The barely existent edges of Rarity's nails seemed to set Sunset's skin on fire. “What's in that little bag however, that took a bit of work...”

It took Sunset a moment to realize that the thumping sound in her ears was her own heartbeat. Rarity was circling her like some predator, her eyes hungry and roaming across the unicorn. This time there was no alcohol to cloud Sunset's mind and she found that she was more intimidated now than she had been when Rarity had her almost naked the night before. As Rarity made her way behind Sunset the unicorn was desperately trying to pull her courage back together; she was a former student of a godlike being, one of the finest mages that Equestria had ever trained, she'd saved lives and faced monsters, including the demons of her own personality. She was not going to lose her nerve just because one of her friends was looking at her like that. Sunset was certain she could handle this.

That certainty lasted until the tips of Rarity's fingers slipped under the back of her shirt and grazed her skin. Sunset couldn't help but let out a small gasp that would have been more suited to Fluttershy than the unicorn.

“As delightful as it is making you squirm, I really must insist you try on that outfit,” whispered Rarity in Sunset's ear, the designer's warm breath brushing against the back of Sunset's neck. “As happy as your offer has made me I simply must get some things done today as well.”

Sunset almost tripped over her own legs as she practically ran towards the small changing area that Rarity had placed in the corner of her work space. She wasn't entirely sure whether her speed was due to a desire to put a little space between her and Rarity or if it was because of some budding need to do as the designer asked. If anyone asked Sunset would claim the former.

As Sunset opened the garment bag she discovered that the outfit Rarity had given her was very revealing. The shirt had almost nothing to it, being a piece of black fabric that would barely cover her chest, a small white heart design rested right where Sunset's cleavage would begin. The shirt's size made it look so tight that Sunset was sure she wouldn't be able to wear her bra underneath. The skirt that went with it was little better, being a tiny thing with white frills all along its edge that reminded her of a french maid's uniform. If Sunset bent over even the tiniest bit in it she would have been flashing anyone behind her. The 'clothes' weren't what forced another blush from Sunset's cheeks however, it was the two other items that rested in the bag. The first was a small, unadorned, black thong that Rarity clearly expected Sunset to wear in place of her panties. The second item was a thin strip of leather, that in keeping with the rest of the outfit had white edges, and featured a small heart shaped lock.

It was a collar.

Rarity wanted her to wear a collar.

Sunset's mind was buzzing. Rarity wanted her to wear an outfit that would make Sunset feel like she would have better off naked, and the designer wanted her to wear a locking collar on top of it all. This was crazy and Sunset's brain simply refused to permit this. She'd have to close the bag and apologize to her friend. Sunset would do almost anything for her friends but her mind seemed to think this was the line.

Sunset's hands however didn't seem to get the message, and before the unicorn really knew what she was doing she had thrown her own clothes to the side of the dressing room and donned her new attire.

A shudder ran through Sunset's body as she heard the collar lock around her neck.

Mustering her courage Sunset left the small dressing room, expecting Rarity's probing eyes to be waiting for her. Sunset stepped through the curtain, one hand trying to tug the tiny skirt a bit lower, the unicorn's eyes screwed shut and a blush blazing on her cheeks. Sunset braced herself for Rarity's assessments and waited. And waited... Several moments slipped by in silence. Sunset strained her ears, just barely making out the sound of a sewing machine. Curiosity won out over embarrassment and Sunset managed to open her eyes. The unicorn was greeted by the sight of an empty showroom. Rarity had left while Sunset was changing and the unicorn wasn't sure whether to be annoyed or grateful. Sunset's brain said this was a good thing, she could just turn around, get her clothes back on and tell Rarity she had to leave, but Sunset's feet didn't agree and the unicorn found herself walking towards the sound of Rarity's work.

“R-rarity?” said Sunset quietly as she found her way into the designer's workroom. Rarity had been working on some sort of dress, her glasses now added to her dark outfit, but the designer stopped as Sunset spoke. Sunset felt a sudden pulse of fear as the sewing machine stopped and Rarity rose from her seat.

“Now now, Sunny, that is no way to address me,” sighed Rarity, sounding almost like a disappointed teacher. In just a few steps Rarity was in front of Sunset, her eyes stern as she examined the unicorn. “In the future I expect you to address me as Miss Rarity, or simply Miss, am I clear?”

Rarity was looking at Sunset, waiting for her to respond. Sunset knew she should say yes, she did understand after all, but her mouth had joined the list of body parts that had decided to rebel against Sunset's brain that day and she found that she could barely mumble out a vaguely affirmative sound. It seemed that Rarity was not satisfied with mumbling, as the designer was quick to sigh and turn back to her work table, picking up something Sunset couldn't see.

“Sunny, I know that you're new to this dear, but I expect clear answers when I ask you a question, do you understand how to address me?” asked Rarity, the hint of disappointment in her voice stinging Sunset for some reason. Sunset mumbled again. The unicorn didn't even see the ruler snap out from behind Rarity's back.

“Yes, Miss Rarity!” yelped Sunset as the wooden ruler connected with her behind, the tiny skirt offering no protection from the gentle but firm impact. Sunset had never been spanked before, and the slight sting the ruler had left on her exposed rear made her believe that she did not want to experience it again. The blush that came to her cheeks however...

“Much better,” smirked Rarity as she placed the ruler back on her table. “As much as I would like to spend the rest of our day instructing you in the finer points of what I expect from you, I really must get this dress done and I'm sure you'll be a great help...”

When Sunset had offered to let Rarity take charge of her she had expected a few things; a strange outfit, which she was wearing, that Rarity would probably be surprisingly harsh, the swats she'd received from the ruler over the day had confirmed, and possibly that Rarity had a secret sex dungeon somewhere in her home, though Sunset hadn't seen one yet. After several hours of Rarity directing her Sunset had made a few discoveries that she would not have expected at the start of the day. Sunset had not expected her day to turn into playing housemaid for her friend, it had though with the unicorn performing a list of chores that Rarity had given her. Sunset had not expected to discover that Rarity while quick to provide Sunset with gentle corporal punishment had been remarkably gentle and caring with the unicorn so far, a break in the designer's work had seen her order Sunset to relax with her on the sofa. Sunset had not expected the sound of disappointment in Rarity's voice to sting the way it did, or for the sound of Rarity's approval to lift her spirits.

And Sunset had certainly not expected to discover that she was enjoying all this...

As the day had progressed Sunset had found a small part of herself craving the few words of approval Rarity would give her after each task. Sunset had found a spring in her step as she'd head back to Rarity after completing her work or finding what the designer had asked her to retrieve. The unicorn had even stopped worrying about her outfit, after the first hour of tugging at her skirt anyway. It had been like Rarity wasn't even looking at the skin Sunset had on display, like her friend wasn't even seeing the clothes anymore and just looking at redhead, sometimes with approval, sometimes with a touch of annoyance, but always at Sunset and not the outfit.

“Miss Rarity, I found that thread you wanted,” said Sunset with a smile as she handed the spool of light blue thread to the girl that had been controlling her throughout the day. So far Rarity had finished nearly a dozen dresses for various customers, and with each completed item she had been sure to praise Sunset for how much of a help she had been.

“Oh wonderful work, Sunny,” said Rarity with a smile. Sunset couldn't help but blush as her friend spoke her nickname. Their other friends would often call the unicorn 'Sunny' in friendly conversation but before today Rarity had seemed almost hesitant to do so, but today she hadn't said 'Sunset' once since Sunset's collar had gone on. For Sunset there was now something almost naughty about the way Rarity would say it, but somehow also something reassuring about it.

The unicorn stood a few steps behind Rarity as she worked, waiting for her to issue some new order or request. For some reason Sunset couldn't help but squirm, surprisingly eager for her owner to direct her.

Sunset blushed hard with realization, she had just thought of Rarity as her 'owner'.

Today had made more than a few odd thoughts run through Sunset's head. Thoughts of Rarity ordering her to change again, but this time without the privacy of a changing booth. Thoughts of Rarity being rougher with her. Thoughts of Rarity ordering her into bed...

“Sunny, darling, did you hear me?” asked Rarity pulling the blushing unicorn from her increasingly perverted thoughts.

“I'm sorry, Miss Rarity, I didn't...” answered Sunset quietly, expecting the too familiar sting of the ruler at any point. The sting never came.

“I asked if you wanted to stop, Fluttershy will be here for tea in a few minutes,” said Rarity quietly as she left her work table and stood before Sunset. “You've been marvelous today, but I have no intention of parading you in front of our friends like this.”

Sunset's heart was pounding in her chest. Yes today had been an experience, perhaps even one that Sunset would like to repeat, but the idea of Fluttershy seeing her like this made the unicorn nervous. Her outfit was back in her worries, she'd been accidentally flashing Rarity her behind all day and doing that to Fluttershy felt wrong. Wrong but exciting. The idea of serving Rarity in front of someone began to worm its way into Sunset's mind. Rarity wouldn't hesitate to spank Sunset in front of Fluttershy, she was sure of that. Rarity wouldn't hesitate to order Sunset around the way she had been, and she'd expect the unicorn to be just as obedient to Fluttershy as well. That thought excited her, made a heat pulse under her skin.

“I-I want you to...” muttered Sunset, still half expecting the ruler to strike her for her mumbling, but when it didn't and a look of confusion washed across Rarity's face the unicorn explained. “I don't want to stop, Miss Rarity, I'd like to keep going like this.” Sunset was fairly certain that her blush had finally reached the same shade as her hair.

The confusion on Rarity's face vanished, replaced by what Sunset could only call pure joy, and Sunset suddenly found herself pulled against the designer. Rarity's arm had snaked around the unicorn's exposed midriff, pulling her against the designer, her other hand had grabbed Sunset by the back of her hair. Rarity's lips found Sunset's, the kiss forceful and passionate. Sunset's knees almost gave way as she kissed back. As the two women held the kiss Sunset's senses were alight, feeling everything; the metal heart of her collar pressed against her, the tug of Rarity's fingers in her hair, the designer's heartbeat pounding against Sunset's own chest. A moment turned into a minute, a minute turned into several. Sunset found her hands pinned behind her as Rarity kissed down the unicorn's neck. Rarity's leg pressed between Sunset's getting ever closer to the burning need that had formed in Sunset's core...

Of course at that point the doorbell rang. The pair jumped apart, both blushing red.

“Sunny, be a dear and get that, I'll be in the sitting room,” said Rarity as she smoothed down her shirt, her breath coming in slight gasps. Sunset had to consciously step back from her friend, her body was screaming at her to push Rarity against the wall and slake the desperate want that had built up inside her. The sight of the ruler resting next to Rarity's glasses made her turn and slowly walk to the door. Sunset could almost feel Rarity's eyes peaking under her too short skirt as she walked. As Sunset reached the door she didn't even hesitate. Rarity had told her to get the door, so she would, and she'd do it right.

“Welcome, Miss Fluttershy, Miss Rarity is waiting for you in the sitting room,” said Sunset after she opened the door to Fluttershy, doing her best to stay calm. As Sunset did the best curtsy she could manage in the tiny skirt and moved to the side to let Fluttershy pass she could see a blush spreading across Fluttershy's face.

“S-sunny?” stammered Fluttershy as she stared at the unicorn. Sunset stood by the door, trying to avoid the shy girl's eyes, growing increasingly worried that the door was still open and someone might see her.

“Please, Miss Fluttershy, Miss Rarity will be happy to explain inside...” said Sunset, her heart pounding as Fluttershy's eyes peaked out from behind her hair to look over Sunset's new outfit. “Please?”

To Sunset's relief Fluttershy finally came inside, and the subservient unicorn lead her to the room Rarity was waiting in. Sunset was acutely aware that her skirt was probably flicking up as she walked. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about that right now. Rarity was waiting in the modest room she entertained her guests, her formfitting black outfit replaced by a more conservative purple coat and pants.

“Fluttershy, darling, I'm so glad you didn't have to cancel our tea time today,” said Rarity happily as she hugged the shy girl, completely ignoring Sunset as she did.

“U-um... Rarity, why is Sunset half naked?” asked Fluttershy, her voice barely louder than a whisper.

“Oh don't mind her darling, Sunny has agreed to wait on me today,” smirked Rarity as she motioned for Sunset to stand next to her sofa as she and Fluttershy sat down. The unicorn was quick to take her place at Rarity's left. Embarrassingly quickly if Sunset was honest.

“O-oh.. um.. okay,” muttered Fluttershy.

Rarity had invited Sunset to these tea dates before and the unicorn had a fair idea what was going to happen. As Sunset stood to the side of the pair she knew she about to be treated to the latest gossip of Canterlot Highschool, something she used to care a great deal about but had been avoiding since her reformation. Sunset was relieved when Rarity caught her attention halfway through a discussion about the latest romantic scandals of the football team.

“Sunny, tea for both of us if you please,” said Rarity offhandedly.

“Of course, Miss Rarity,” said Sunset as she turned to leave the room, jumping as she suddenly felt a hand pat her butt. The unicorn managed to turn and look back at her temporary owner, seeing a devilish smile playing across the designer's lips. Sunset could feel her heart skip a beat. As she left the room she deliberately swung her hips a bit more, forcing her skirt to flick up and reveal her exposed butt to both Rarity and Fluttershy.

Sunset could just manage to hear Fluttershy fainting onto the sofa and Rarity trying to revive the girl as she made their tea.

“It's fine darling, I assure you,” said Rarity for the third time as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

“It really is, Fluttershy, I promise,” agreed Sunset as she smiled at the shy girl.

“Oh... u-um... if you're sure...” muttered Fluttershy as she stood up from the sofa, slowly walking towards Sunset, still hiding behind her hair as she did. When she was just a bit more than a foot from Sunset she managed to look out from behind her pink hair and look deep into Sunset's eyes, a look of determination coming across her gentle face. “Sunny, please go get more biscuits from the kitchen.”

“Of course, Miss Fluttershy,” said Sunset with a smile, the unicorn quickly running to the kitchen to retrieve the snack. It had taken almost an hour of encouragement from both Rarity and Sunset to get Fluttershy to issue even this tiny command.

Rarity on the other hand had been liberal with her orders. The designer had made Sunset serve tea, fetch dresses to show off, kneel next to her owner, and had even gotten the unicorn to provide the pair with the best amateur massages she'd been able to perform. Throughout it all Sunset had also been subjected to more and more molestation from Rarity; hands grabbing her ass, fingers roaming across bare skin, she'd even tangled her fingers in Sunset's hair and pulled her head back to show off her collar. The treatment had left Sunset excited and with her heart pounding. It had also made Sunset certain that she wanted to do all this again.

“See darling, was that so hard?” asked Rarity as Sunset placed the packet of biscuits down in front of her blushing friend. Sunset was about to resume her place next to Rarity's sofa but the designer directed her to kneel by her legs instead. Sunset was, again, embarrassingly quick to obey, gently pressing her side against Rarity's legs.

“I-I guess not...” smiled Fluttershy as she took one of the chocolate coated treats from the table. Rarity also took one of the long chocolate covered biscuits from the packet, but instead of eating it as Fluttershy had she held it in front of Sunset. This game was something Rarity had done earlier, and Sunset had earned a firm smack of the ruler for eating it before instructed, so this time the unicorn simply held her mouth open, her tongue poking out just a little. Rarity slowly traced the biscuit across Sunset's lip, slowly placing the now melting chocolate on Sunset's tongue. After a moment and a nod from Rarity Sunset bit down and devoured the treat, Fluttershy watching the whole time.

“Good girl, Sunny,” said Rarity as she gently scratched behind Sunset's ear, as though she were a favored pet.

Several minutes passed with Rarity and Fluttershy finishing their gossip mongering, Sunset kneeling and enjoying the gentle scratching Rarity was still giving her. After Rarity's grand reveal that she was certain that Vinyl Scratch was crushing on the far more conservative Octavia, Fluttershy said goodbye to the pair and promised to keep what had happened to herself. Sunset may have been enjoying herself, but she wasn't quite ready for all of her friends to know what had gone on. Rarity had even let Fluttershy out herself, so that Sunset would have time to get her normal clothes back on.

“Uh, Rarity, we've got a slight problem,” grumbled Sunset as she walked back into the designer's work room. When Rarity looked up from her latest design Sunset was quick to point at her throat, the leather collar still locked there. “You never gave me a key to this thing.”

“Oh!” gasped Rarity as she jumped up from her work, fumbling around in her desk before pulling free a small silver key and handing it to Sunset. “I'm so sorry, darling.”

“No problem, it just would have been a little awkward wearing it everywhere...” said Sunset with a smile before handing Rarity back the key, but before she could give her friend the collar Rarity gently wrapped the unicorn's hand around it.

“I want you to keep it, as a memento,” said Rarity, a gentle smile on her lips. “And for if you should ever feel like indulging me again...”

Sunset blushed and slid the leather strip into her pocket, taking a moment to gather her thoughts before telling her friend, “I-I'd like to indulge you again sometime...”

The pair left it at that, a promise of future activities, and hugged before Sunset left. If she'd looked back she just might have seen the wistful look on the designer's face.
