A human of the future who fought for a just cause finds his space age knowledge useless in Equestria
A guy from the future finds him self in Equestria after he tried to teleport out of a space vessel. His atoms got blasted with an ion dissruptor and rematerialized IN EQUESTRIA!!!!!
(Just a practice story. If it's bad then remember I'm just trying to get better with writing) (I'm bad with grammar so if you have a problem with it, then I can deal ^^.)(Also my writing style seems to change throughout the story :D)
Author: Just so you know I like to separate events and dialog so you can understand it better. Like I would use description of what the person looks like or the faces they make after what they say. THEN I will type the next events that transpired when the characters weren’t talking…sometimes I’ll give more information about Cole in these paragraphs and such.
I also notice I at times go from 3rd person to 1st person…weird but just forget about it I don’t really want to fix it unless ITS EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT! Or I find time to fix it rather than work on the next chapter. If you notice anything wrong with grammar point it out. (I will fix that at any time rather than replace the paragraph so it’s proper)(I’m also a novice so please…mercy ;-;)(sorry for long descriptive paragraphs. FUCKING DEAL!)

In the future there was a great space war. Communism was nonexistent but the old communist countries were still taking heat from past blood after the first intergalactic war, were communism finally disappeared forever. But now that the alliance has won and the peace has been restored the public wanted revenge for the fifty year space war. The Cosmonaut Kremlin was a new organization that united the ruined communist people and officially started to create laws and build a military to defend themselves against space mercenaries. This created fear in the alliance because they thought they were preparing for war. The alliance had one choice…strike first. But this attempt failed and their actions set off the largest intergalactic slaughter the history of man has ever seen.
John Cole was a Cosmonaut and he firmly believed in democracy, like his friends and his crew he would fight to the death if he had too. He was assigned to receive an infusion of nanotechnology into his body and through that he gained almost super human powers. There was a lot of boarding needed to be done in space. And he was the captain of the Trinity so it was his responsibility to protect the beacon of hope for the Cosmonaut Kremlin. (The Trinity was a ship that turned the tide for the Communist Hierarchy so they took many planets with it. Essentially it is the beacon of hope for Cosmonaut Kremlin. People thought that ship will win them the war.) Trinity fought and gave hope to the new world of Cosmonaut Kremlin and started to win the war. But battle after battle after battle the Trinity found itself the only hope left for the Kremlin when alliance forces begin to close in on key star systems.
John Cole became an iconic person for all of the free people of the new world and even though things seemed bleak they had him to turn too and his new group of super soldiers called Nano Troopers. Unlike the regular foot soldiers Nano Troopers didn’t wear full suits of armor and they use their nanotech to lift objects with the Nano ‘swarm’ that was infused into their bodies.
Now here we are with General John Cole of the Trinity. Returning to the capital planet New Earth to dock at the stations of New Moscow and New Denmark. All is peaceful and sound…For now.
Cole was walking down the hall way too the science bay. It was the day he was going too be infused with the ‘swarm’. He anxiously speed walks to the science bay and when he enters he is greeted by the science team.
“General Cole the swarm chamber awaits you.” Said a scientist.
“Good man. Now what should I expect during transfusion?” Said Cole.
“Well you can expect a slight tingle. Then pain. Lots of pain. But its ok it will only last a few seconds.”
“Oh…That’s comforting and lays my mind to rest. I truly feel I’m in good hands.” Cole glares at him.
“Would you prefer me to lie to you and say it will fell almost orgasmic?”
“Yea!”
“Then it will feel-“
“Shut up and hook me up!” Cole snaps at him.
The scientist asks Cole to strip and then places Cole on the table and straps him down so he couldn’t move any of his limbs including fastening his head down tightly. Not a good sign if he didn’t know it would hurt already. Then he leaves the room and Cole looks around the room with his eyes and notices the machinery exposing a nano swarm vial. The vial makes its way to the infusion equipment ominously hanging over Cole’s head. He gulps fearing what comes next.
“General Cole we are beginning transfusion.”
Cole glances nervously at the blue vial of nano swarm tech and braces for the large needle still hanging ominously over his head to lower and inject nanobots into his body. The machine roared to life and lowered toward him after what seemed like ages and pierced his skin. At first it was felt like a regular doctor’s needle that goes into your arm and gives you a simple vaccine. Not a big deal. But then the nano swarm was injected and they started racing around my blood stream. It burned every vein it contacted as each nanobot bored into the cell walls and crated hives for the nanobots to create more nanobots later on. I could feel my body trying to reject these invaders as my muscles convulsed and the pain seemed too double as they squeezed the nanotech filled veins and arteries. I tried to struggle free from my restraints but they were secured so tight that my attempted escape was no more than a flinch. I knew this pain would subside soon but it was painful. EVERYTHING WAS ON FIRE! Not to mention…So yea it hurt like hell. The whole time the bots were working their way through me they were opening up space with their miniature bodies between my muscles. They sent the signal to the other machine with a similar syringe only a black liquid was inside the large vials attached to it. That machine roared to life as well and moved closer too me and slowly lowered the needle into each pouch of empty space the bots created injecting the black liquid inside me. After a few minutes the substance hardened and made my muscles look slightly larger. However I noticed some openings in my skin around were the black substance was injected and I could see a nano swarm hive forming an opening in my skin. Which hurt like hell if I may add! Then the scientist came back into the room and started to remove the restraints.
“General we need you back on the bridge. Oh and you won’t be able to use the nano bots until they make drones. They will slowly bore their way to your mind and you will see an interface pop up when they are at full functionality and ready to produce nano swarm drones.”
“Ok thanks. Who will show me how too use them when their ready?”
“The nanobots have an information library. When their online and capable of performing operations they’ll notify you.”
“So I can access my abilities when I want too?”
“Yea just like every other Nano Trooper. You can summon the nanobot library when you want too and research the things you can do with them. Also at the request at corporal Khan I’ve placed world history and forms of entertainment into the mainframe so you won’t get bored.”
“You wha?”
“Bridge needs you Cole. And I need to attend to more nano patients. Go get dresses short stuff.” Cole blushed slightly.
“I auta’ court marshal you!”
“Science division isn’t military sir soooo. No can do!”
Cole gets dressed and walks back to the bridge. He couldn’t help but think of ways he could get back at that scientist. He realizes he didn’t even get his name.
Alliance battle cruisers detected. All hands to battle stations.
The red alert lights ignited with artificial light that was reflected on almost every surface. Cole goes into a sprint to the bridge but the nanotech was still working in his body so his muscles burned and stung each time he took a long stride in his run.
Alliance battleships detected. Enemy forces on intercept course.
Cole didn’t have much time to get to the bridge before he felt the Trinity shake with an impact.
Engine damaged. Fleet dropping out of warp. Response drones activated and on intercept course.
His first was in the captain’s chair he thought. Only Matt Armor would be so quick as too assume command and send out drones to intercept the battle cruisers and battleships. Cole trusted Matt at the helm so he slowed his pace. Matt was the only one who shared Cole’s choices during a combat situation so he knew the Trinity is in the right hands at the moment. Then an explosion a few decks below makes Cole stumble and crash to the ground.
Alert titan class ion disruptor detected. All hands brace for death.
Whoever the sick bastard was who got the computer to say that when a titan class was detected will be beaten into the ground if I live through this. Though I have to agree with it. Titans are known for destroying everything in there paths. Entire crews and ships disappear when they fire their weapons. But the type of weapon causes weird anomalies and it is rumored that they keep you from going to heaven…I will never listen to superstition again. It gets me to fear things that don’t need to be feared in battle. Though I was pretty scared that a titan was in the battlefield. And we only see it on our way home too.
Matt comes on the loud speaker. “Titan class is powering up the ion disruptor! It’s aiming right at us! All hands abandon ship!”
Cole just stands there dumbfounded knowing that he didn’t have time to get to the escape pods. Then his nano tech Library pops up and starts to download all the information from Trinity. All the files were now his and he needed too get off the ship somehow so the Trinity’s top secret power core can be installed into other vessels. Cole is torn between staying with his crew and escaping the ship for his country. Then the nano bots start up a teleportation command that Cole couldn’t remember giving. His body dematerializes and his atoms started scattering before a ion disruptor blast catches them. Then darkness…A lot of darkness.
I wake up after what seemed like ages. I was in a forest. A weird one. The trees seemed to be almost two dimensional and cartoony. My body was aching and I thought my bones were broken. Though I could tell the nanobots were still with me because I felt them organizing the hardened black liquid that I now realized stored data. I felt more comfortable with them moving around inside me now and they closed up my cuts and even the hive entrances. They were trying to make drones with parts they didn’t have. The interface pops up again and gives me a nanodrone warning. Materials required. Nano engineering is offline. I turn my head too look around for a possible food source. The nanobots can convert matter; and if I can’t find food then I will have too cannibalize my own body to continue moving. It’s at this point I noticed an animal walking towards me. It seemed to be some sort of zebra but it was really small and had jewelry on it’s foreleg from what I could tell. Then it went black…shit I’m no were near earth it might be carnivorous for all I know.
I regain consciousness in a weird room. It looked like a hospital. I heard beeping at a steady pace and immediately notice I was hooked up to wires. That was weird hospitals don’t use wires these days. Actually it started too look more and more like a 1970’s hospital were they still had that heart beat monitor things. I can feel my arms again and I pull off the wires attached too my arms. One seemed too be in my skin but I still ripped it away and I started too bleed. The heartbeat monitor machine started to make a high pitched beeping noise. The nurse ran in and-NURSE?!!!?!?!? It was a pony with a white hat that had a red cross on it. I stared in disbelief.
“HEY STOP THAT!” She said as she turned off the equipment. “You need rest! If you can understand me that is.” At this her expression went from an serious frown to a curious stare.
“Umm…Yea I can understand you. And I don’t need your equipment just get me some food and I’ll be all right.” Was talking to a pony weird? YEA! But I’m a Cosmonaut and I’ve seen way stranger-WAS THAT PONY USING ENGLISH?!?!
“Oh…You can speak. Ok well your bones are broken in several places and you need rest. And about your cloths?” I looked down and noticed I had a hospital outfit on.
“WERE’S MY OUTFIT!” I exclaimed fearful of who may or may not have seen my junk.
“It was removed and being cleaned. Now I’ll be back in too check up on you so please don’t move. Another nurse will come in with food shortly”
“Yes ma’am.”
She walks out of the room leaving me baffled. But in the mean time I accessed my neural net too see what my nanobot status was. 0%. Expected but I do have scout drones that can be made by cannibalizing dead skin. Wasn’t using dead skin anyway so I let the drones convert it. A few minutes later the watcher drone was created and left a port in my left shoulder. It quickly closed up when the drone left. My hands were still being converted though so I couldn’t use any nano grappling to grab things from across the room. Not that I had anything to grab.
I sent out the drone and its eyes were mine for the time it was out. I scouted around the hospital and taking note of some of the patients there. Some were in complete agony a couple rooms over. I only now realize how sound proofed the room actually was despite the door being opened. I was quite impressed by that feat. Though I needed the drone to fly near the ceiling because it may be small but it’s also big enough to be considered a bug.
A nurse comes in with a plate of salad and what I believe was mashed potatoes.
“Hey can you stay a while?” I said wanting to know more about my surroundings.
“Sorry I have too give food to the remaining patients. A nurse will be in to check on you. Oh I almost forgot you have a visitor that wants to ask about your origins. Her name is Twilight Sparkle should I tell her to come in?”
Well that would be nice. They can get information on me and I can get information on them. What’s not too love about that? The nurse gives food to a pony who was on the other side of the room then comes back to listen to my request.
“Yea send her in when you can.”
“I’ll send a nurse.”
She leaves and I can hear talking outside the room. I chose to eat the food. I could tell it wasn’t meant for human consumption but I ate it anyway because the nanobots could easily use it to replenish my swarm. Though some of it was edible so I kept that. Now that my swarm was creating drones I could feel my nanobot levels increasing as my hands started to subtly convert into a hive holder. That’s good.
A lavender pony enters the room. I make sure my hives were covered by flesh and fabric as fast as I can. Though it’s only now I really notice how broken I actually am. The nanobots were holding me together and that’s pretty much it. they started to build up my muscles and bones by converting the protein in my-
“Hi I’m Twilight Sparkle.” Said the lavender-UNICORN!?!?!?
“Umm hi I’m John Cole. I’m a…human.” I was going to tell her I was a general but I had no idea what they would do if I said that so I just said my species.
“I’m a pony. I’m also the towns’ librarian. I want to talk to you where you’re from.”
“Well technically New Earth but I was born in space before the transport arrived. So that’s pretty cool…I’m spaceborn.” I said cautiously.
“Wait you were born in space? So do you not need air or something?” She said shocked.
“I was in a space ship so it had air.”
“Oh…What’s that?”
“It’s a large air tight metal-“ the nano swarm binged me a warning that my body was fully recovered and I can leave when ready. Nano healing was quite fast and I was impressed by its speed. “Oh ok…wow I can get up now. Where are my cloths?”
“Wait you can’t leave your hurt…aren’t you?” she said confused as I take off the bandages the nurse put on me when I was unconscious.
“Naw I have the swarm.”
“The what?”
“Where are my cloths?”
“You can’t leave. Even if you’re healed you can’t just leave. What would people think when they see a human like yourself walking through the streets! Well actually everyone knows that you’re here but to get out so fast would be weird. Stay here for a while then we’ll let you go.”
“Well…K that’s acceptable but I really need to talk too my-“ I see the room around me a little better now. I realize this whole world was two dimensional. “Whoa that’s just weird.”
“What?”
“Everything’s way different from the world I come from.”
“Well yea and I want to learn all about it…So tell me everything.” She leans in to listen to everything I’m going to say.
“Well all right. We have these things called space ships.”
Author: Ok what do you think? I wanted too give the character some sort of superpowers so he can combat magic. I DO plan on trying to get him to fight someone or even just use his Nanobot tech to do something productive. THERE IS SO MUCH OBVIOUS STUFF I CAN DO! Oh and remember those weird times when it goes to 3rd to 1st person view? Expect too see that. I haven’t really worked on a character before that I reference as myself. I’m usually writing in 3rd person so this is kinda new. Tell me ANYTHING that’s wrong with it.

Author: So basically I’m trying to change up the point of views so that there are paragraphs with 3rd and 1st person view points. I also changed it so that when Cole is thinking too himself its like this so yea that’s also a bit new.
Ok not liking how it turns out right now…But it’s ok because this is just a meh story that I just felt like throwing together. If you find it entertaining then like and if not don’t. I’ve also noticed I got more favorites on this one than my other one. (Before I deleted to be rewritten) So I WILL CONTINUE THIS STORY ALL THE WAY THROUGH! Expect some delays though because I am now working on 2 stories at once. (And working on the italicized words that won’t transfer over -.-)
John Cole has been talking with the lavender pony for hours. Politics and origins were what usually went between them but Cole took extra precaution in making sure he doesn’t come off as a soldier. Said enough about the military to give her an idea of how it’s structured but not too much too make her suspicious.
“Oh hey Twilight. Is there any possibility I can get you to find a doctor to check on me again? I want to prove to them that I’m ready too leave.”
“Well ok but you can’t leave until their done. Oh and were will you stay when you get out?”
Ok didn’t think of that. Maybe a hotel? Wait I don’t know what kind of currency they use. FUCK!
“Yea that’s going to be a problem.”
“Not to worry I have a few good idea’s with who you can stay with. Actually since you probably would cause some commotion by walking around town I have already narrowed it down to possibly three…Ok scratch that two.”
“Possibly three?”
“Well you’ll have too fly for that one…And I don’t think she would agree.”
I need to know how too fly?
“What do you mean need to know how to fly?”
“Well she’s a Pegasus and-“
“What!? No way that’s possibly the coolest thing ever. Can I meet her at some point?”
“Sure I’ll get her on my next visit. But to stay with her you’ll need to fly and I don’t see wings.”
“Ok. One moment Twilight gotta check something.”
Ok how do I access my library ag-oh there it is! Ok lets see is there a flight capability here? Ah there column 3 row 6 and that looks like…Oh ok I’ll need a nano field before I can-
“Umm what are you doing? You’re just sitting there.”
“Oh yea I’m checking my Nano library.”
“Wait you told me about Nanobots but Nano library?”
“Okay well the Nano library is were Nano tech users can access their abilities.”
“I thought you said they are mostly used for military purposes.”
FUCK!
“There also used for commercial uses too. I chose too get them because I'm an engineer and being able to use Nanotech to lift heavy objects allows me to be more efficient. And paid more!”
“Oh well that makes sense. So can you lift something right now?”
“Well. No I just got the upgrades and I need too wait for my hands to grow the Swarm Bay. Well I think that’s what it’s called.”
“So how many Nanobots do you have on you? From my understanding there so small that you can’t see them so how do you know when there around?”
“Well they emit a blue glow when they are concentrated.”
“Oh you mean like magic?”
“Magic?” Said Cole with a skeptical tone.
“Yea like this. Uh oh see that book over there?” Twilight points with her hoof too a book that was on top of a medicine cabinet.
“Ok?”
“Watch.” Her horn lights up in a purple aura. Another purple aura lights up the book as well and it starts to hover over toward them. Cole gapes in amazement.
“Whoa…” The book gently lands in front of Cole and it opens up. “Whoa! Ok that’s cool. I wonder if I can do that with the Nanobots.”
“Well you can try. But do you have enough of them?”
“Just enough to make quite a bit of drones and finish the construction within my body.”
Ok this is pretty cool with all the magic stuff. Maybe I can learn magic.
“You think I can learn magic?”
“No you need a horn.”
Of course.
“But from what you told me magic is similar to Nanotech so that shouldn’t be the problem.”
Still doesn’t fill the empty void in my soul.
“Well you’re right I guess. Hey can you fly with your magic?”
“Well I haven’t tried. And I don’t really want too unless I have too because I don’t want to accidently fall. Pegasi can fly almost nonstop and unicorn magic runs out so there is a big risk in doing it.”
“Yea ok. Kinda disappointed. Anyway what do you eat? Not meat right? Horses are herbivores were I come from.”
“Yea only plants. Why?”
“I’m a human. Omnivore so I need both food groups. Well I don’t need meat but it helps me stay in shape.”
“Well I don’t feel comfortable watching you eat a squirrel. And there are ponies who really hate carnivores so you’re better off letting people know you like to eat hay or something.”
“Well I don’t like eating hay. It’s terrible and has bad manners!” Twilight found that funny and gave a small giggle.
“Well what do humans eat other than animals?”
“Bananas, oranges, carrots, apples, grapes and other stuff.”
“We got those. I’ll tell the nurse to serve you those food types when you’re out.”
“Thanks Twilight. Oh hey who was it that brought me here?”
“My zebra friend Zecora.”
“Ok visiting hours are over now.” Said the doctor.
After which Twilight leaves the room the doctor heads over to the other patient in the room. Cole couldn’t see the other pony because there was a tarp that blocked his view. He chose this moment to check out the data banks that he was given during infusion.
Ok lets see what we got here…Oh I can check my nano count…the fuck? Damn 1,572,589 is a lot! WHAT THE FUCK! It’s only 20% fully functional? The hell is going on with my equipment! Oh that’s new…Huh? I can make clothing out of nanobots? I can sure use that. Oh flight is very possible if I…oh that sounds painful. Maybe I could just try to jump with them instead…Oh I can do that? Ok well I didn’t think I could but now that I know all I need now is to figure out how to turn myself green…No fucking way! That’s an option?! Holy shit military grade Nanobots RULE! Why the hell would the science division make that possible? Oh it’s for stealth ok never mind. Oh wait I can disappear if I want? FUCK YEA I CAN TOTALLY SPY ON-oh wait yea this world doesn’t have human chicks…I feel totally safe in my mind. No one can listen too my awesome thoughts. I wonder if the nanobots can record them? OH FUCK THEY CAN! Shit how do I dele-
“Excuse me sir?”
“WHOA! Don’t sneak up on a man while he’s deep in thought bro.”
“Umm sorry but what was your name?”
“John Cole.”
“Ok John Cole I’ll just add that too the clipboard.”
“Hey doctor you think I can leave?”
“No not yet you still need too heal. You have broken bones that won’t heal themselves.”
“Well doctor I don’t have any broken bones. And I’m fully capable of walking out on my own right now.”
“I doubt that, but I will need some tests tomorrow to fully understand your situation. I’m not familiar with your anatomy so I will need to take a few X-rays and figure out what’s natural and what’s not.”
“Well I can help you out. I know my body pretty well. I’ll show you what shouldn’t be there if you need me too.”
“Well all right. You should rest up for now. I heard that there are a lot of ponies in Ponyville that want to meet you. I sent them all away except Twilight who had a letter from the princess saying that she wanted to know more about you.”
Wait letter from the princess!? You mean she kept the truth from me too? Well I can see why she would. It could encourage me to clam up about what I was if I knew she had direct ties too the princess…Now that I think of it that whole librarian story seemed off. I’M A FUCKING DUMB ASS!
“Wait she said she had a Pegasus friend. If they come here will you allow her in?”
“Well it depends. If Twilight isn’t with her I won’t let her in because there are a lot of ponies in Ponyville who know Twilight.”
“Really? Wait Ponyville? Know what never mind I don’t need to know that now.”
“All right Mr. Cole I’ll let you rest now.”
“Thank you doctor.”
The rest of the day seemed to go by very fast. It was soon dusk and then night. Cole fell asleep really easy and had a dream about the last moments of the Trinity.
“Evasive maneuvers! Don’t let the Titan fire at us dead on!”
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
The entire ship rumbled and the power went out. The backup generators came on and gravity plating and stabilizing was reactivated. Matt looks at his console and sees that only 1/3 of the Trinity was being registered by the internal sensors.
“Oh fuck!”
“Sir?”
“We’re floating. Dead space awaits our voyage Lt.”
“Sir how bad is it? What’s the damage?” the Lt. sounded panicked and had every right to be.
Cole didn’t realize this at the time but when the Titan ion disruptor fired it not only took out most of the ship; but it also tore open a hole in the bridge. Nano shielding was fast enough so not much oxygen got out. However thanks to the ships power supply being at the rear of the ship, the back up generator near the bridge didn’t have enough power so the nano shielding started to deteriorate. Matt died of depressurization and suffocation. Matt would have been struggling for air rather than talking to the Lt. at the navigation station. The Lt. would’ve also been dead before then too since he was in the back were the nano shield was being pulled up after he was sucked out into space.
Cole wakes up after seeing these images of his crews’ fate. He knew Matt was dead by now. No one has ever survived an ion weapon of that magnitude before. It didn’t matter if Matt got hit with it. The escape pods would have been without power if he did survive. Cole finds him self in the dark room wide awake. With nothing too do he searches his data banks. He found the entertainment that he believed was supposed to be a practical joke at first glance. But when he saw the pony resting on top of the logo he couldn’t help but think of the lavender pony he just saw. In fact it almost looked exactly like that same pony. Curiosity made Cole watch an episode. Each one made him feel like his manhood was being ripped away but he continued anyway. He had too do this after he realized that the ponies in each episode was a real creature in this world. Or that was his theory that he hoped he would be able to test out later that day. He got to the sonic rainboom episode before he stopped.
Shit I need to get out of here and figure this out. I’ll send out a scout.
Cole holds his hands in front of him self and a cyan orb forms between there void. The orb was a perfect orb of nanobots that Cole controlled. After it made a connection with his mind he was able to sense its every movement and see all around it. It was like experiencing the room rather than seeing it. The orb made its way to the door and dissipated between the cracks around its corners and disappeared.
Author: I thought it was pretty bad ass to type ‘between there void’ XD and I will get annoying with my sudden wall breaking!
“AAAAAAAAAAAAH!” I love my handy work.
The orb made its way out each door and slowed down to lip between each of there corners. It eventually made its way outside and flew into the skies. Everything in viewing distance can be sensed easily by Cole and it felt godly. Being able too see the world-No feel the world! It was amazing. But he could also feel the sky and he could somewhat sense colors. Though the orb wasn’t alone in the sky. A pony seemed to notice and they went up to follow it. It seemed to be grey with blond hair. Though grey was a strange color for such a colorful world. But the pony was blocking the senses of the orb by just being behind it so Cole dissipated the orb enough so it couldn’t see it but Cole could still see the world. The pony looked around and went back to the ground. With this distraction gone the orb returned too its proper state were it continued unchallenged.
The doctor enters the room and goes too the pony on the other side of the room.
“You’re fully healed and you can leave the hospital.”
He wheels the pony out in a wheel chair and leaves the room.
Ok that was. Kind of an anti-climax
“Oh Mr. Cole? I’ll be back in about five hours to take you to the screening room.”
“Ok then.”
Now that Cole was alone again he had some time too go back to the scout. He now notices that it again wasn’t alone. Only now that he is better with colors and he couldn’t tell exactly what color this was. It seemed to hit every spectrum of colors and-
HOLY SHIT IT’S RAINBOW DASH!
Cole didn’t know what to do. Rainbow was the fastest flyer of Equestria. A fact he learned from the episodes that were downloaded from the Trinity. (Shut up it’s my story IT DOESN’T NEED TO MAKE SENSE) He tries to dissipate the orb so she couldn’t see it and it works. He moves it a far distance from her and assembles it again. Though her eyes were amazing and she saw it from miles away. She speeds toward it before Cole dissipates it again and she kicks it. Smashing the orb and making the nanobots separate. They will assemble once again and in a more concentrated form. The orb was even smaller so it almost looked like the snitch from Harry Potter. (Fuck you harry potter is still cool in 2200 or something!) Only it was three inches larger than an actual snitch. The concentration of the orb made its cyan glow look solid. Then the orb dissipates back to its regular size.
Ok seriously I’m not going to fight this! Ok maybe if I slowly fly it to the hospital then I can explain everything too her so she wouldn’t do this again. Hang on maybe Twilight can help? No she’s asleep I can sense her.
Cole makes the cyan orb move toward Ponyville at a more passive pace so it didn’t startle the rainbow Pegasus. She took the bait quite well and she started to follow the orb. Though she seemed to be quite annoyed with the orb and she seemed to be talking to it. It made its way to the hospital and she stopped some distance away watching the orb go into the hospital. Cole stopped it so the Pegasus could get the idea to follow it inside. She figured this out pretty quick since it didn’t take very long for her to continue chase. Rainbow ends up inside the hospital and she is greeted by the pony known as Red Heart. Red Heart sees the orb and stares with her mouth at the same level as the floor. Rainbow continues to follow the cyan orb unhindered by the nurses and attracting a lot of attention. She manages to find the room that Cole was in and the cyan orb returns to Cole’s side.
“Sup!” Said Cole. Rainbow’s jaw dropped when she saw the orb hovering passively next to the creature Zecora found in the woods.
“W-what are you?”
“A human. You’re a pony. I spoke to Twilight but I didn’t explain this.” Cole points to the orb. “It’s what I use to look around while I’m stuck here. Can you do me a favor and don’t kick it? It hurts me when it’s damaged.” Cole lied
“Oh sorry about that I didn’t know!”
“No it’s ok. But can you just let it go in peace?”
“Umm. Sure?”
“Thank you. You may go now. Oh and I would like too see you during visiting hours if the doctor doesn’t agree with me and still thought I need an operation.”
“Umm. Ok? Why with me?”
“You fly faster than my drone. Why not with you?”
Gotta admit feelin’ pretty baller right now.
“Oh well I guess that makes sense. I am the fastest pony in all of Equestria!”
“Good too know. Explain more later I’ve got to send this thing back into the clouds.”
Cole holds his hand up to the orb and sends more of his nano swarm into it. This creates a strange anomaly that looked like a small heat wave going from Cole’s right hand to the cyan orb. The orb grows even larger from this and looks more thicker. Nurse Red Heart comes in the room and stares at the orb for a while until she says.
“What’s that?”
“It’s Jesus. Get to worshiping.” OH GOD THAT WAS AWESOME! I'm going to fuck up someone's day!
“What?”
“Ok well it’s actually my only way of being able to see outside without my eyes. I can sense the world around this object and I can look around Ponyville.”
“Oh well that’s good to know. Anyway what would you like for breakfast?”
“Squirrels.” There was a long silence.
That felt so good.
“P-pardon me?”
“What I’m an omnivore! It’s not a strange request. I could do with some cabbage or carrots. Or apples too those are all right.”
“Ok I’ll see what I can do. But we don’t have meat.” She leaves. Rainbow speaks up after she leaves.
“What the hay? Who do you think you are?!”
“John T. Cole?”
I’ll probably get executed for that but at least I’m upholding my former trolling wishes.
“Red Heart’s father was killed by a timber wolf! You should apologize!”
“Can I apologize by killing that same wolf that killed her father?”
“What? NO! Well…I don’t know. But you should apologize!”
“Ask. No I’ll ask. And don’t worry I will.”
Well I guess I’m fucked! Oh well I’ll just give her the option too kill that wolf. And maybe apologize a bit. Wow my mind sounds pretty stupid when I think about it.
“Hey I don’t mind lending a hand but ok I’ll let you solve this on your own.”
“All right. Leave me for a while. And see me with Twilight too if you want.”
Cole lifts his hand to the orb once again and puts more of his swarm into the orb. He now has very little left inside his body. In fact most of his swarm is in the orb itself.
“So exactly what are you doing with that now?”
“Oh I’m nothing.”
“Doesn’t look like nothing.”
“Well it really is none of your concern.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Ok leave. We’ll talk later ok?”
“Fine but this isn’t the end of this conversation.”
Rainbow Dashes out the door. (Pun totally intended) Almost simultaneously the cyan orb leaves and returns to the skies and above the forest searching for the wolf. Then Nurse Red Heart comes in with a trey of apples, carrots, and lettuce. She places the trey in Coles lap and he immediately starts chewing on an apple. Then the nurse starts to leave and he made a grunting noise that got her attention. Cole makes a ‘come here’ motion with his free hand.
“Need anything?” Silence while Cole chews the apple and swallows.
“Yea I want to talk to you about my comment earlier.”
“Oh that it was nothing. Now I really need to-“
“No no! I know what happened. I want to apologize for my comment. I'm sorry.”
“…Well ok thank you.” She turns to the door.
“Not done.” Red Heart stops and turns back to Cole. “Are you still hurt from that? Like emotionally?”
“N-no of course not! It’s in the past now.” She said nervously.
“But you don’t think so?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re still hurt about it. I can tell because my nanotech allows me to sense the world. Before my orb left I could feel your heartbeat increase. And other physical changes that are associated…With rage.”
“Umm no I’m over it!” She was now almost panicking.
“No you’re not. I can feel it. You just won’t admit it.”
“That’s not true!”
“Close the door. This conversation is private and I can tell that the volume will only increase as we speak.”
Red Heart goes to the door and closes it. Then she slowly moves her way back to Cole’s bed side were he holds his left hand up a few inches to her face. A small cyan swarm appeared on his finger tips.
“This small orb here will read your thoughts. Imagine the timber wolf in your mind and I will see it.”
Surprisingly enough she seemed ok with this entirely. She closed her eyes and imagined the timber wolf. She saw it kill her father. This was obvious since she remembered her fear and sadness along with the image of the timber wolf. It had a scar on the side of its face. Easy enough to spot right? But it was difficult to know how that may have healed or worse if the rain would have kept the wood wet and it would blend with the undamaged wood around it.
Hmm quite literally a timber wolf. That is impressive for this world.
“Ok I can see it. Ah ok now I see a pack around my scout.”
Cole’s scout was dissipated enough so the timber wolves couldn’t see it. Though none of them had an actual scar so he moved on to another group. And another group and another group. He discovered a much larger group with an alpha male that was much larger than the others. He was roughly a foot longer and taller than all the others. He also had a scar. It was him!
“Red Heart I found your fathers killer.”
“Y-you what?”
“Oh yes my scout is in front of him right now.”
“W-what?”
“I can kill it if you want me too.”
“YOU CAN WHAT?!?! Nononononono! You can’t its. Wrong.”
“It’s a creature that lives without true purpose other than to kill. From my understanding of magic timber wolves are just side effects of other magical items. The timber wolf seems to be the head of a very very large pack. If I were to kill it the pony eating pack should die along with it. Are you sure you want this opportunity for revenge and justice to simply disappear?”
“…….no” Red Heart looks at the ground almost ashamed.
“Well what do you choose?”
“Do it.” She looked up with fire in her eyes that only someone with greatly suppressed rage could have.
“Done.”
The drone formed into a proper sphere once again and formed a spear that was angled toward the timber wolf. The other wolves started to growl at the scout and it thrust forward piercing the timber wolves’ skull. It goes limp as the magical aura leaves its body. The pack falls lifeless before the orb.
It was several minutes before Red Heart was came back from her trance. She seemed almost mortified that he asked Cole to kill a pack of Timberwolves.
“D…That didn’t happen didn’t it?” She asked questionably. (Author: Wut?)
“What you mean?”
“You can’t kill things with that—orb thing right?”
“Yea I can and I just did…Want to-“ Cole stopped him self from asking her if he can prove it. “Know what never mind. Don’t think anything of it.”
“Umm…Ok well if you need anymore food, just ask ok?” Red Heart went to the door and looked back as if to ask something but chose not to ask and continued out the door.
John Cole started eating the apples. They seemed to have a very sweet core and they seemed to be so much easier to bite into. They were great. Better than the ones on new Earth. The carrots however tasted like carrots, and although that was nothing new it still didn’t keep Cole from eating them and enjoying any food he could find. Cole was hungry and his body weak from the lack of food. Within thirty minutes the doctor came into the room and took Cole’s empty trey away from him and placed it on the table next to him.
“Mr. Cole it’s time for an x-ray”
“A what?”
“An x-ray. We need to see the damage.”
The fuck is an x-ray?
“Well ok where too?”
“Just leave that too me.”
The doctor then moved the bed out of the room with Cole still in it. They went passed many other rooms and turned many corners before making their way to an elevator. Eventually they ended up in a room with a bunch of machinery that Cole couldn’t identify. After many hours of god knows what the doctor returns Cole to his room.
“So what’s the diagnosis?”
“Well there are some things we need to look over before we decide to operate or let you stay and heal. We’re going to have to look for anything we find wrong with your body with the little we do know about it.”
“I told you that I can help you with that.”
“Yes but we would rather not have you in any stressful situations. You are a new species to us and we don’t know any natural limitations you have.”
“Humans are made for survival. I can take a beating before going down. It’s just how we evolved.”
“That’s interesting to know but it doesn’t actually change my mind about your treatment. Now I me get back to my other patients, have a good day Mr. Cole.”
“See ya doc.”
Cole was alone again, and getting bored. With the swarm being created again he didn’t have much to do. Again he turns to the scout to watch over the world for any entertainment. Cole notices the rainbow pony doing some very impressive stunts. Three ponies are below her watching her do these daring tricks. She seems to be getting closer and closer to the ground after each stunt, and then she goes into a dive after a loop and is incapable of pulling up in time before she slams into the ground at speeds. Her friends begin to carry her to the hospital. She seemed unconscious. Cole stalked them until they made it to the hospital and he dispersed the scout so no one could see it. The problem was that since he put so many nanobots into it, it no longer was capable of entering a building without creating a light blue mist of condensed swarm. So Cole just waited. It was only moments when the doctor came back in with the rainbow Pegasus and another nurse. Cole only waited and let them discuss amongst themselves before paying attention again a few minutes later. But for now he will scout out that forest that had the timber wolves in it. He could see a castle of some sort in ruin. He sent the scout to-
“And look! You have a roommate!” Said a cheery voice as the curtains moved to the side.
“What up?”
“Umm—Hi?” Said the rainbow Pegasus.
“OH hey you’re Rainbow Dash! I remember you! Anyway this will be really fun. I have enough stories of my world that should interest you.”
“Well I dunno, does your world have awesome flyers like this one?”
“Well I can tell you their a lot faster than you ponies can go.”
“Well can they break the sound barrier?”
“Please they can travel the planet in seconds. Sound barrier isn’t an impressive feat these days.”
“W-what? HOW IS IT NOT IMPRESSIVE?”
“You mean I’ve done it multiple times without much effort?” Rainbow stares for a moment.
“Prove it!”
“Sure just wait till we get out. You have what three days or something?”
“I hope not.”
“Well I’ll keep you entertained till then. We have a lot of stories to share.”
“PINKIE PIE IS THE BEST NAME FOR YOU! IT FITS YOU SO WELL!” Cole couldn’t help but enjoy this shouting back and forth.
“Really? Like how?”
“Oh well you’re pink, and you’re the cutest thing I’ve ever seen cutie pie!” Pinkie blushes and smiles.
“You’re really nice! Will you be my friends bestest friend?”
“THE BESTEST!” Cole uses his nanoteleport to appear next to Rainbow Dash in her bed. “You and I.” Cole points his finger at her chest then his. “Are now buddies!” Everyone’s jaw drops when they see Cole appear next to Rainbow after disappearing from his own bed.
“Whoa! HOW’D YOU DO THAT!?” Said Pinkie.
“Oh this?” Cole teleports back to his bed. “With my awesome!”
“COOOOOL! Teach me how to be awesome!”
“Ok well first you must pledge you’re allegiance to the blue waffle!”
“I PLEDGE MY ALLEGIANCE TO THE BLUE WAFFLE!”
The doctor comes back in after his short leave.
“Ok now Rainbow Dash needs her rest. You can come back tomorrow during visiting hours.”
The ponies leave the room leaving me and Rainbow Dash alone for the first time.
“Hey Rainbow—you like hunting stories?”
“Well I wouldn’t mind since you eat meat but I think that’s kind of strange to tell me about how to hunt when I’M THE SPECIES THAT GETS HUNTED!”
“Oh…How about I just tell you of the story when I saved my village from a hydra with my fellow hunters.”
“Well ok I guess that’s fine—Hey what’s a blue waffle?”
“I will never tell you.” Trollface.jpeg
“Ok…Hey do you really think Pinkie’s cute?”
“Pinkie? Yea I just want to…Cuddle with her.” ‘Wide smile’
“hehehe. Ok lover boy I won’t tell her unless you want me too.”
“Oh I don’t love her. She’s just so gosh darn adorable!”
“Well ok I can see why you would think that.” She rolled her eyes.
OH GOD TIME TO TAKE ACTION!
“Oh you can can’t you? Have something to admit Rainbow?”
“WHAT NO! You’re weird!”
“What? It’s a normal thing for creatures in my world. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
“WELL I’M NOT! BESIDES WHEN HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF SOMEONE LIKE THAT!?”
“Well I’m hurt Rainbow. My sister is a lesbian!” If lying will send me to hell then it is still worth it!
“Oh sorry. I-I didn’t know.” Shit now I genuinely feel bad.
“Naw naw its ok some people give her a hard time but she found someone. And their happy with their adopted child so I don’t care what people say!”
“Adopted? You mean those couples can still raise kids?”
“Yea…Why does that not happen often?”
“Well no because all families keep their children unless something happens to the parents.”
“Aw I envy the world of color and love!” really do!
“Umm what?”
“Oh nothing. Hey want to hear that story I told you about?”
“Hu?”
“How I defended my village with my group of hunters?”
“Fine…”
Author: sorry it's so dissapointing with the length but I was busy. This weekend I WILL WORK FUCKING HARD!
Rainbow and I were talking for hours about how I got Andy to snipe the hydra’s first head and I had to rocket jump to cut off the other one. The third head remained there while we ran off and waited for the guided artillery round to nail its main body and blow it to hell. It hit the hydra and the last head fell to the ground allowing Troy to cut off the last one making sure it wouldn’t get up. Though in the fantasy world a hydras’ head would grow more heads when severed. Real world not so much.
Rainbow told me of the time she did the second sonic rainboom at Cloudsdale. I played dumb and asked questions about it to keep in character. She spoke highly of her friends and I listened to every detail and asked questions about things I didn’t know about. The whole time we talked about our achievements and our failings. At one point she asked.
“What’s it like being able to eat meat?”
“W-what? Well it’s great! I love steak and pork.”
“Steak? What’s that?”
“Cow.”
“WHAT YOU EAT COW?”
“Yea why? Are they sentient here?”
“Well yea they are like ponies. And so are a lot of other species.”
“Like pigs and sheep? And definitely horses.”
“Well yea actually.”
“So wana try some meat?” Cole said.
“WHAT! No no nononononononono!”
“How about blood?”
“What? NO I’m not going to try someponies blood!”
“How about mine? I’m used to donating some to the blood bank so it can be injected to people that lost too much of their own.”
“Wait what? Humans offer blood too?”
“Yea! Anyway want to try some of mine?”
“No I’m a plant eater! Blood could make me sick!”
“You don’t have to drink it. Just a taste! And fair warning it tastes like pennies.”
“What are pennies?”
“Old currency that just isn’t used all that much anymore. Well I think blood tastes like pennies because of an old rumor.”
“Oh…Okaaaaaaay.”
“Anyway want to try my blood?”
“NO!”
“Please?”
“Why are you trying to convince me to do it?”
“Because I’ve never really met a talking herbivore before; I just want to see your expression when you try it.”
“Not going to happen!”
“Are you sure about that?”
“Positive.”
“What if my life depended on it?”
“DON’T EVEN GO THERE!”
“Okay.”
And after that weird conversation between them the nurse came in and turned off the lights. It was night. They still stayed up talking for a good few though until Rainbow yawned midsentence.
“Am I keeping you up?” Cole said with a smile.
“No it’s just *yawn* I’m just umm…I don’t know.” Then the Rainbow Pegasus laid back and fell asleep.
Cole almost burst into laughter but kept his composure so as not to wake her. He returned to his archives and started to watch more of those my little pony shows. He realized the more he learned about the show the more this world seemed to make sense. And the more he interacted with the ponies here the more he liked the show. Cole didn’t realize it yet but he became a brony. In fact he had no idea what a brony was but he remembered coming across weird memes in his childhood that he didn’t understand; eventually they faded from his memory and they never resurfaced. Cole watches more shows until he got through all of season 1 and then onto season 2. He noticed a very odd similarity to the current events of Read it and Weep and now. To his horror the room looked a lot like the one he was in now. Then the inevitable lines that he was almost regretting came up in the dialog. “And look! You have a roommate!” And there wasn’t a human on the other side. There was a crippled pony with bandages covering his face and all of his legs. He looked like he was in the saddest state ever imaginable. Cole sits up and looks around the room. The Celestia’s sun was coming up. Cole needed to get healed fast so he could figure out how to get home. He only now realized that he spent the entire night watching that show in stasis, which allowed him to view more shows in less time. This means he used all the time to rest on watching this show. He was exhausted and still needed to sleep an entire night; but his military conditioning allowed him to continue everyday actions without falter while tired or wounded. He noticed the drapes were open so he was in full view of Rainbow. She was watching him then quickly pretended to sleep out of embarrassment. The only indication she was looking at him was the fact she rustled around when Cole started becoming aware of his surroundings again.
Was she watching me the whole night? THAT LITTLE STALKER!
Cole now watched Rainbow and imagined what she could be thinking about. She seemed to know he was staring at her, maybe it was the fact she tensed up after a while. She rolled over and opened her eyes while facing Cole.
I know her game and I was going to play it my way.
“Were you staring at me?” She said.
“No.”
“Then what are you doing?”
“Looking.”
“At what?”
“You”
“That’s staring.”
“No I just started.”
“You sure about that?”
“Yea and you are too. You saw me almost dazed didn’t you?” a light blush appears on her face.

“No I didn’t!”
“Then why are you so defensive.”
“Jerk!” She rolls over and starts pouting facing the window. “AND STOP STARING!”
“I’m not staring. I’m looking out the window.”
“Like I’m going to believe that!”
The swarm allows Cole to lift large objects. Only common sense that they can also be used to allow him to hover or be weightless…So this next part makes sense. ;p
“Well you could believe me when you look back at me.” Cole uses his weightless ability to make it so she doesn’t notice him when he teleports next to her in the bed. It was also a quiet teleport so she didn’t hear him. Cole slows his breathing so he can’t be sensed by the rainbow maned Pegasus. Rainbow rolls back over and is startled by the human who greets her gaze at point blank with his head resting on his palm.
“WHOA!”
“HAHAHAHAHAH! Oh you’re fun. But seriously I don’t mind weird behavior. If you want to look at me go ahead but don’t lie about it.” Cole gets closer to her and while cautious of her wings brings her in for a hug. The confused Pegasus stays there dazed for a moment without a response until she awkwardly returns the hug. “This weird?”
“Yes.”
“Goooooooooooooooood.”
“YOU’RE SO WEIRD!” Rainbow couldn’t help but laugh at his weird behavior.
LAME EXCUSE ACTIVATE!
“What? Are ponies not social through grooming and physical contact?” He means do ponies socialize through grooming. Like apes and monkeys do. Humans did it too and Cole is using that fact to allow his odd behavior to go unpunished.
“Well it certainly isn’t normal I can tell you that. Unless it’s your very special somepony.”
“Umm ok…So you mean that me hugging you is too soon?”
“Sure as hay is!”
“You don’t mind though do you? I haven’t been around another human for a while and I miss companionship.”
“But we were talking all day yesterday!”
“Humans like to touch each other.” OH YES WE DO!
“I don’t like to be touched.” Being so close to Cole she couldn’t help but look away from the awkwardness. (Trust me if you’re inches away from a girls face that you don’t even know…You tend to look away unless your…getting in ;P)
“You sure?” Cole takes his fingers and rubs his fingers down her spine making her shiver in pleasure.
“WHOA! Ok this is getting really weird!”
“Sorry but I know you liked that. It was a weird sensation right?”
“Well yea but it doesn’t mean you should be touching me like that…Its way to intimate.”
“Sorry humans are intimate species. Especially with friends of ours. OH fun fact men hold hands in some countries just because their friends.”
“R-really?” This seemed to comfort her a bit. Though it didn’t entirely defuse the situation; it was only enough for her to forgive him and still allow him to be her roommate. “All right I’ll forget about this. If you get back to your bed for at least a few hours.”
“But then I’ll feel lonely.” Rainbow gives him a glare. “Yes ma’am.” Cole rush teleports to his bed.
“So any more stories?”
“Have I told you about my ship the Trinity?”
“I think you mentioned it.”
“Ok so basically I’m-“
“Ok time for breakfast you two.” Said the nurse.
The nurse found her way into the room unnoticed by Rainbow and Cole. She stood there gazing at the puff of smoke that formed into the human before she spoke up. Then she quietly placed the treys of food on their laps and walked out of the room looking back at Cole on her way out. Rainbow tried to take her time eating since she was going to stay in the hospital for a while. Then she remembered she has someone to actually talk to. While she was thinking about what she wanted to do for the rest of the day Cole was thinking of how he will use the new fleets of swarm that his body built. He realized that he was in his skivvies for the past day now and he really wanted a new attire before he got out. He searched up a way to make clothing with the swarm and to his surprise they had it. Only it was actually light nano armor for field purposes to protect the wearer from energy weapons. However the design for it looked pretty bad ass to him. Being it was all black and some red lines around different armor segments that allowed him to move freely without restricting him. He chose to have the suit morphed around him.
“So Cole exactly what was the reason for you wanting me to drin-WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”
Rainbow saw a light blue wall forming around Cole and start gathering on his skin creating a black overlay of his main body. Then plates began to form. After a good ten seconds the scene ended and Cole was covered in a new uniform that made him look so much cooler by Rainbows point of view.
“Whoa…How’d…Why’d? Huh?”
“Sorry should have given more warning.” Cole takes off his hospital gown and throws it aside then lies back relaxing in the surprisingly comfortable armor that he was now wearing. The Armored plates weren’t that big. Only one centimeter thick and the suit itself only went from to his elbows and his thighs. He couldn’t make any accessories or even complete his uniform because he ran out of swarm so his arms don’t have gauntlets and his legs remain exposed. He was out of swarm but the harvesters in his body were converting fecal matter and some of the undigested food in Cole’s body.
“Whoa…You look—well pretty cool actually.”
“Yea its body armor. I’m meant to look intimidating.”
“Yea I’ll say! Hey wait a minute, why do you want to be intimidating?”
“So no creature will want to mess with me…Also I like to wear armor. It makes me feel safe in this new world that seems so...” He looks back at Rainbow “…Colorful.” Rainbow blushes again.
“Are you flirting with me?”
“Yes why? Do you not like it?”
“Well we’re just so…Different!”
“Does that matter? Besides I don’t love you. I’m just flirting. It’s all to make you feel good about yourself.”
“W-what?”
“Yea remember when I called Pinkie Cutie pie?”
“Oh…OH I think I get it now. Well ok it’s not so bad now that I think about it.”
Just then her friends Twilight and Fluttershy came in.
“Hi Rainbow Dash!” They said in unison.
“Hey guys! Oh Cole here has been keeping me entertained.”
“Really? That’s great! Whoa what are you wearing?” Said Twilight as she begins to notice Cole’s armor.
“Oh this? Light body armor.”
“Why would you wear body armor?”
“Because it’s the only thing that’s programmed into my swarm. I have nothing else to wear if I don’t have this on. And I don’t feel like walking around in my skivvies all day.”
“Well fair enough though I would like to hear more of your abilities.”
“Sure maybe when I get out.”
“Ok then. Hey Rainbow we brought your favorite board game.”
“Ok Twilight lets play. And let’s see who wins!”
“WHOA WHOA WHOA!” All three ponies look over at the human. “I didn’t know you guys like to play Battleship? Well your own version of it but I guarantee you will love mine!”
“Wait you have your own board game?”
“Yea hold on!” Cole dissolves his suit except around his waste and turns it back into the previous swarm. He then gets his scout to come in the room and it dissolves too creating a mist between Cole and the ponies. Then shapes form within the mist and they expose 8 ship classes. Fighter, Bomber, Frigate, cruiser, destroyer, battleship, carrier, capital. Cole explained the rules in detail. With each passing moment Twilight seemed to get more and more suspicious without Cole noticing. She was beginning to believe he was a soldier.
“Ok understand the rules?”
“You know it! Game on!” Exclaimed Rainbow.
“Ok.”
They began their live action battleship game. The capital ship was producing funds for each player to expand their capital ship and give it defensive weapons. After a while Twilight, Rainbow, and Fluttershy decided on waiting to build to tier 2. The battlefield was unseen and they needed to start scouting before Cole can find their base. Twilight was first to notice this and she made fighters to go around and search out Cole’s base. She even made sure she was leveling up the main base. She made some frigates and cruisers to defend the scouted areas and then a fighter came out of the fog of war. It was an enemy fighter. Cole found a frigate and within minutes two destroyers came and started to engage it. Twilight responded by sending everything at the battle and once all her units arrived the inevitable happened. Cole found their main base and had a battleship hit it from outside the fog of war while fighters and bombers were close by allowing the battleship to zero in. At the same time they did damage. The game was over quickly when the three friends lose. They play the game several times, each time they got better and always lost just as quickly, if not quicker than the last time.
“HOW ARE YOU WINNING?” Said Rainbow. She was obviously upset.
“What I’ve played every one of my friends. After a short while I found out I can’t lose at a game.”
“W-well let’s play my game! Obviously you have the home field advantage!”
Oh Rainbow was never so wrong in her life. When they started playing the Equestrian version of battleship it was already obvious who was winning. Cole was quick to find her clouds and animals before she could find his. He had them expertly spread out so that they would be hard to guess. Rainbow herself was a tactical genius since she’s been playing this game for so long. However today was the first day she lost.
Several games of Weather Patrol later Cole was on a winning streak 10 to 0. Rainbow finally beat him and then the games got more and more intense as the day went on. At one point Twilight and Fluttershy sat there gazing at the epic battle that ensued and they lost track of time. Their other friends came in and watched the spectacle go on and on. They finished their 20th game and pinkie spoke up.
“Wow Cole I didn’t think anyone could beat-“
“AGAIN!” Yelled Rainbow.
“Your on!” Said Cole.
They both ignored the pink pony and they started playing another intense game of Weather Patrol. They were sitting on Rainbow’s bed because Cole couldn’t exactly move Rainbow to his. He still had his light armor only this time he had gauntlets and boots because of that scout. The five on looker’s mouths were at gape as Cole and Rainbow shouted their moves to each other. Then the nurse came in and saw the spectacle and ignored the fact Cole was out of his bed.
“Hey dinner time for Cole and Dash!”
“Thanks!” Cole and Dash said in unison as they never left each other’s gaze.
They took the food and quickly began to eat. Cole didn’t care if it wasn’t designed for him; he just wanted to play this game with Rainbow. No one has ever given him such a challenge before. They wolfed down the food given to them and went back to the game. The five ponies stared a little longer then Rarity realized the time.
“OH GOODNESS HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN!”
“What? Oh yea I have to get back to work!” Said Twilight.
“Ya’ll go on I’ll stay a bit longer to watch this.” Said Applejack.
Fluttershy whispered something and pinkie said goodbye as loud as she could. Leaving Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Cole to stay in the stressful atmosphere of the room. After a few minutes Applejack leaves and they were alone again.
“All right now time for bed.” Said the doctor.
“What? No it’s not we still have the rest of the-“ Rainbow takes a look outside and notices Luna’s moon was coming up. “Night?”
“Oh wow were we having fun?” Said Cole.
“I guess so. But you’re still beating me! Well I need three more games to tie you! We’ll continue in the morning!”
“Sure thing! Looking forward to it!”
Cole teleports to his bed. They both fall asleep before the light is even turned off. The doctor stayed to watch what just happened then continued to leave the room and put the rest of the patients to sleep.
Cole had a dream about the day’s events he wanted to play that game with Rainbow more than anything because she was giving him a challenge. While asleep the swarm converted some of the plates into hives; this allowed Cole to hold more Swarm and with this new space the converted material became swarm too. The boots he had on weren’t thick, but that was changed because of this new material gained through converting some of the plates and some of his lunch. All Cole needed now was a helmet and his light nano Ranger armor would be complete. Cole’s dream was similar to his day. Only it mixed between the events. He was sitting next to Rainbow Dash and they were commanding the original game of battleship he had installed in the nanoware. Rainbow was commanding clouds while Cole was commanding the Trinities fleet. The dream was very interesting since the clouds were able to take down his frigates and cruisers. Though she commanded cosmic storms and asteroid fields while Cole had to manage his fleet in real time while they were all scattered across the battlefield. Which was twenty times larger than the original game he played with her. If anything it was almost like the real deal. Cole found her capital ship. It took the form of Rainbow Dash herself. The obvious thing to do was to destroy her and the game would be over. But Cole will let her win so he doesn’t make her too mad. He didn’t want to ruin his relationship with Rainbow so he let her have her way for now. She won through Cole’s generosity. Just like how she did during her Weather Patrol game.
“Come on! You wanna win don’t ya?” Said Rainbow.
“Well yea and I’m trying!”
“No you’re not! You had me! And you let me go! Come on get in the game!”
With that Cole started trying again. He quickly was able to avoid her asteroids and even the mighty black hole. Cole sent his fighters and bombers to distract everything on her side while sending his fleet ships to her Capital. The game was over quick. Then Cole looks back at Rainbow who should be to his right. But she wasn’t there. The room was dark. The game was over. And he could see—light. A portal opened on the other side of the ended game and he could see the bridge of the Trinity intact. His excitement was indescribable. He rushed over and before he could go he was stopped by what felt like hooves wrapped around his leg.
“A-are you leaving?” Said the Rainbow pony.
“Y-yea why?”
“But I’ll miss you!”
“And I’ll miss you. But I must go back to my home.”
“There is no home there for you Cole! The Trinity is gone and you will walk right into space!” The Pegasus was now crying. Cole looks back at the portal and sees the wreckage of the Trinity. Floating around without oxygen in any deck and he realized Rainbow was right. If he were to set out there he would have died because of the lack of air pressure and oxygen. He wouldn’t even be able to be saved. Not a single Kremlin ship or even Alliance ship in light years. He turns back to Rainbow Dash.
“All right…I’ll stay with you.”
“Y-you will?”
“Yea…I won’t let anything happen to you.” He pulls her in for a hug. She embraces him. Then darkness.
Cole wakes up in the hospital room with the doctor at his side.
“Mr. Cole. We looked over you’re x-rays and we found nothing that could possibly harm your body…Except this.” He points to the memory storage devices that have been imbedded next to his bone under the muscle in his body.
“Oh doctor I need that. It may not look like it but it helps me survive.”
“It what?”
“Yea…Well not really survive but it holds my ability to create those orbs and create these cloths. So that’s necessary for me to be able to lift stuff.”
“Oh so there not any health risk to you?”
“No there supposed to be there. And thank you for showing me that before you tried to operate. Oh hold on I need to know. Do I have to pay?”
“No Twilight Sparkle messaged the princess about you and she sent funds to the hospital so that she can pay for your recovery. Remarkably enough you had many broken bones and you seem to be fully healed. Is it natural for humans to heal this fast?”
“No it’s not. It’s actually because of the implants I’ve been given that I healed so fast. You know that orb that you saw I controlled?” He nods his head. “Well that orb contained little machines that stitched my body up. They put fractured bones back where they belonged and even made more bone so anything that was too far from its original location was rebuilt.”
“Fascinating! Can you tell me how to make some of them on my own? This technology will offer us a breakthrough in medical science!”
“Sorry even if I did tell you how to make them you wouldn’t have the technology to do it anyway. Getting the answers from me at this point in time and with your technology is—well a waste in time itself.”
“Well all right. But can you at least give me a few hints?”
“I did doctor. Very small machines that fix your body. Very difficult to make without the right tech.”
“But you seem to be carrying it around with you now.”
“Doctor the implants I have will cause the most intense pain you ever will feel in your life. There are people who come out of the surgery I’ve been through in a body bag.”
“Oh…When you put it that way it sounds very dangerous. Is there any way you can use that technology to help other ponies without having the implants? Like allow you to heal them?”
“No it’s all for me. If I were to try to place my machines in another person it will be exactly like getting the implants themselves. They could possibly die. There is debate that there is a more likely chance they would die if I do it myself rather than using the right equipment for it.”
“So why did you do it in the first place?”
“I’ll tell you but you have to keep quite about it.”
“Ok.” The doctor leans in to listen to what Cole is about to say.
“I did it to protect people. I’m a warrior. I fight for the free man and the free people. I’ve devoted my life to save lives at the cost of my own. I don’t want people to know what I am. A strange creature claiming to be a warrior from another dimension isn’t exactly what you tell people to make friends. See where I’m coming from?” Cole said in a whisper.
“Oh I perfectly understand. I will keep this information from anyone who asks.”
“Thank you doctor.” Cole looks over to Rainbow’s bed. She isn’t there. “Hey where did Rainbow go?”
“Oh she was checked out of the hospital.”
“I can leave right?”
“Yes you can. Have a good day Mr. Cole. Oh and here are your cloths.” The doctor pulls out Cole’s uniform and hands it to him.
“Thanks doc.” Cole rushes out.
When he leaves the hospital he waves to Red Heart on his way out and he looks around. He sees Fluttershy wheeling Rainbow Dash down the sidewalk. Rainbow keeps looking over her shoulder back at the hospital. She then notices Cole coming toward them.
“Hey Fluttershy hold up! Is that Cole?”
“Oh it is! I wonder what he wants.” Fluttershy asks. Obviously not looking for an answer.
Cole found the Swarm had the ability to do an impulse jump. So he does the logical thing and abuses the fuck out of it. He leaps into the air toward the ponies and they scream. He lands just in front of them with his left foot first then goes down onto his right knee and punches the ground. The most dramatic and bad ass impulse jump ever conceived was made today.
“Sup girls!”
“Umm hi Cole.” Said Rainbow.
“Where you headed?”
“Back to my place. I am out of the hospital and I need to still rest until my wing is fully healed.”
“All right. I’ll come with you. I have no where else to go anyway.”
“Hey what about your medical bill?”
“I guess your princess paid for it. Nice lady I guess.”
“She is pretty generous. So yea what are you doing out? I though you were still hurt.”
“I wasn’t hurt for a few day Dash. The doctors just didn’t know what to make of my body. They thought I was damaged but I heal fast because of the swarm.”
“Swarm?”
“Oh right that’s how I can teleport and jump really high and stuff. The swarm is the nickname for the very scientific sciency stuff inside me that gives me powers. Almost like magic only it’s a machine.”
“Machines can’t do magic.”
“Nope. Mine only looks like it can.”
“So you weren’t using magic back then?”
“No. Magic can’t make orbs in the sky that I can see with.” They were traveling to Rainbow’s place while they were talking. Cole notices that Fluttershy was the one pushing the wheel chair and couldn’t help but be nice. “Hey umm. Actually did you tell me your name?”
“Oh! I-I’m sorry I don’t think I did. Please don’t be mad I forgot and-“
“Stop! It’s ok. Me and Pinkie pie were talking to each other a bit much. I don’t think I know anyone else other than Twilight, Rainbow, and a nurse.”
“Oh ok well my names Fluttershy.”
“Hey Fluttershy. I’ll push Rainbow. You just lead the way.”
“Oh no I can’t let you do that! I can don’t you worry.”
“No Fluttershy I insist. I can’t be seen not helping people! Or ponies in this case. I’ve got an image to maintain as a gentleman.”
“Well I would like to walk around first and see if I can get myself a job. I don’t have money so I won’t be any real use to you.”
“I don’t mind if you don’t pay.”
“Are you kidding? If I don’t pay you I’ll feel like a free loader! I will earn my own money and help out if I decide to stay with you.”
“Hey Cole you can stay with me if you want.” Said Rainbow with a smile. Only to quickly lose it at the realization that he can’t fly. “Oh never mind.”
“Never mind? Why sudden change?”
“You have to fly.”
“I don’t think that’s a problem.”
“It’s not?”
“Nope.”
“Oh Cole what kind of animals do you have in your world?” Said Fluttershy.
They spoke for several minutes about animals and Rainbow chimed in from time to time. He told her the best he could about the vicious creatures he once had to fight and even run from in the past. He told her of other creatures from old Earth but could barely name a few more. Being in space a long time makes it difficult for one to remember the natural world.
“Oh Cole we’re here.” Said Rainbow.
They look up and see the cloud home. Rainbow gets out of the wheel chair.
“Wait are you telling me you could walk the whole time?”
“Yea but I didn’t want to ruin it for you.” She gave him a wide smile. Cole had a light blush then facepalmed.
“Ok…Wait how will you get up there?”
“Oh yea…Forgot about that. Umm Twilight has a blimp so maybe I can ask her for a ride.”
“uh. No need I can get you up there.”
“Y-you can?”
“You saw me jump right?”
“Oh yea you can! All right I’ll just-“ Cole picks her up. “WAIT WHAT AR-“ He jumps high into the air and tries to land on the cloud. He hits the cloud only he falls through and Rainbow stays on the cloud. “COLE? ARE YOU OK?”
“Yea!” Cole was lying on his back. “Hey Fluttershy what happened?” He knew that he couldn’t go on clouds but he still wanted to stay clueless.
“Well you see…Umm only something with wings can go on clouds.”
“Huh? Oh ok that seems simple.”
“How so?” Said Fluttershy raising an eyebrow.
Cole ignored her and he started to dissolve his plate armor and left the fabric. Then the Swarm converged on his back and started to make bat wings with a light blue color to them.
“See I can fly too. Now all I need to do is-“
“WHOA HOW’D YOU DO THAT?” Yelled Rainbow from the edge of her cloud home.
“WITH MY AWESOME!” Responded Cole.
Cole started to flap his wings and ascend to Rainbow Dash up in the sky. He flew over the edge of the cloud home and gently tried to touch down. He didn’t fall through this time.
“Wow that was easy. So you still think I can stay at your place?”
“Sure I don’t mind. Though we’re going to need another bed.”
“Can’t we share?” Cole smiled. Rainbow blushed.
“N-No! Well I don’t…No we can’t!”
“Oh is your bed to small?”
“No but I don’t really want to sleep next to you.”
“Oh yea ponies like space! Ok.”
“ehhem.” Fluttershy overheard the conversation. She and Rainbow had a blush.
“Sup Fluttershy! I guess I’m staying with Rainbow for now.”
“Oh I don’t mind. Sorry if I…Umm interrupted anything.”
“Naw its all good.”
“Fluttershy it’s not what it sounds like.” Said Rainbow.
“I-I didn’t think that! I-I’m sorry.” Fluttershy said in the most helpless of ways.
“Dawwwwww. Rainbow she’s so cute!” Said Cole adding to the awkwardness. “Anyway I’m going to go to the forest and convert some more matter for my swarm. I’ll be back later then we’ll discus were I’ll sleep ok?”
“Umm sure see ya.” Said Rainbow.
With that Cole flew off. At first he went at a slow glide to the ground then he got faster and used the impulse to fly without really trying. Cole got to the edge of the forest and started converting the bark on a tree. It took several minutes but his swarm was able to take it and he put plate armor back on his body. Then he created boots and gauntlets again. But now he was too heavy to fly properly so he created a backpack that allowed him to hold not only more of the warm but also a small impulse engine so he can fly at speeds. Then there was the problem of too much power so his wings will fall apart. He condensed them and made it so they looked like the wings of a jet plane. He was now a jump jet nano ranger. Last was the helmet which he made so it could hug his face while leaving glass to allow him to see out of his peripheral vision without being hindered by the frame. It wrapped around his head nicely and attached to the main body. This completely closed him in from the outside world. He was now ready to face anything and after he consumed the rest of the tree for the swarm he started to head back to Rainbow’s cloud home. He did a jump then used his impulse engine to stabilize his flight pattern and he flew off at a good pace back to Rainbow.
“WHOA! What are you wearing?” Said Rainbow surprised. Fluttershy left after making sure she was ok.
“Oh I’m fully equipped to face just about anything! I’m at my full potential so I can do…Anything I feel like actually.”
“Hey I was thinking about that offer you made…You can sleep in my bed. I’ll go on a cloud or something.”
“What? No I couldn’t kick you out of your own room!”
“Well-umm-I don’t know were else to put you then!”
“It’s ok I’ll find a cloud. I’ve slept on the ground for days before so you don’t need to worry about me.”
“Wait when was that?”
“I had to hunt down a very dangerous creature before.”
“Hunt? Oh please tell me you didn’t eat it.”
“Why would I eat it? It was extremely poisonous!”
“Sure…Anyway want to play another round?” Cole stopped for a moment. Then he dissolved his helmet and armor plates.
(So yea I mentioned it’s a practice story…PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I NEED FIXED! Or what you want to see :D! I didn’t plan out the storyline and I’m just going off of what I think would be cool. So any suggestions would be lovely! And you know the times when I abused the ‘Author’ thing? Well I’ve got over that. Now I’m trying to be a complete cornflake breaker and break these cornflakes with my terrible humor that ‘I can totally abuse the humor factor since I control the story’ factor. C:< So what you say want me to…Make them have sex? Cole and Dash? I was planning on keeping it awkward for comic relief but if you guys ask then I will make that possible ;) )
Author: Ok just so you guys know I’m treating the nanotech inside Cole like an entertainment system like iPods or laptops or computers or game systems. Just so you guys don’t think that’s weird I will now convince you as to why that would make sense in the future :)
Explanation: Well you notice in this past century that the entertainment systems become more and more mobile. DS, PSP, ect. EVEN PHONES! Phones now carry apps and games. Entertainment became more and more important as time went on IN ONLY A FEW YEARS! So just think about how important they are now 1000 years or whatever in the future! So it would make sense that a military unit (Of the future) would allow entertainment to be downloaded onto equipment. (Lets face it an engineer would love to listen to music in his head while fixing a ship no? Nanobots allow you to do that ^^)
Anyway you guys will get more commentary out of me from now on. The last few chapters were for trying to adjust to any style of writing. How do you like it so far? It’s not professional but it’s awesome.
I will now SHIT all over this story to make it the must ugly yet understandable format I can possibly think of…Without breaking too far from habit :D
Cole started making the essentials for storage. He guessed he wouldn’t need a full armor suit and he doesn’t exactly feel comfortable using the ‘pony’ bathrooms since the toilet seats were low to the ground. Cole converts all his waste into swarm, and that means he will need to spread these nanobots out so that they don’t pollute the air so much that they make it toxic. He needed storage units for the swarm, or he could spread them throughout Equestria; giving him some serious control over the world.
Though at the moment…An intense game of hybrid battleship was a neat idea to try out. Rainbow gave Cole more specifics about the game Weather Patrol and Cole added his insight on space. Eventually they ended up with a version of battleship that he had in his dream. Regardless of the fact they invented it together Rainbow still had a problem with getting used to RTS games. So they developed it to be turn based.
Rainbow had better luck with this turn based game that they developed. They took a few hours but Rainbow seemed all right with wasting time to make a fairer and more even game for the two of them to play. But the whole time they were making this new game Cole was spreading the swarm around Ponyville. He wanted to make sure that he could have a reasonable amount to fight with if ever he needed it, so the obvious decision was to put it everywhere! A suit of armor isn’t exactly how you become friends with ponies who’ve never seen your species before. If anything they would fear him and try to attack him or run away to a new town. Cole decided to masturbate in front of Rainbow and she was getting jelly so she joined him and they started fucking the rest of the night…Ok that didn’t really happen but like I said I have the power of ‘Author’.
Author: Yea I’m going to shove my shenanigans down your throats this chapter. I will keep to the storyline though. (Warning I will fuck your experience of this storyline!)
“Yo Cole?”
“Hmm?”
“What’s it like eating meat? I mean I’ve never really asked my friend Gilda what it tasted like but I just wondered since you’re a…Omni-bor?”
“Close but no it’s omnivore. And well…so good you know? It’s like eating plants only the meat is at times harder to chew. It’s just a difference in texture and flavor. I don’t know if you’ll like the texture since you are used to eating plants. You can try my meat however! I would love to cut off an arm to see a horse try to eat it.”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEW. NO! Wait aren’t you afraid of pain? Or you won’t be able to grow it back?”
“Well since I have technology on my side I can re-grow it with ease.”
“Umm…You’re going to let me eat your arm?”
“Well maybe a finger. Or my blood. I don’t need that anymore since the swarm can now take over its functions since I’m at full potential.”
“Wait you don’t need blood anymore?”
“Yea want to drink some?”
“NO! Why do you insist on me drinking it? Well actually I know why but really?” She crosses her hooves.
(FIVE MINUTE RUSH GO!)
“Yea so hey lets get back to this game ok?”
“Sure.”
“Ok I think its done. Want something to drink while I win?”
“No I’ll be wining!” She said confidently.
“You sure about that?” Said Cole with evil glare.
“Yea!”
“Ok what do you want?” Cole goes over to the fridge where he pulls out some glasses and punch. ‘hmm this punch is…red…OH YEA I’M GOING TO DO IT!’ “Hey Rainbow? What’s this red punch?”
“Oh it’s strawberry.”
“Want some?”
“Sure.”
‘Fuck yes; everything is going according to plan.’ Cole bends down to pick up the strawberry punch container (container?) and he quickly takes a glass and cuts his arm over it. Emptying some precious life giving fluids into a glass. He makes sure there isn’t too much. (Five minutes up) He doesn’t want Rainbow to become ill from it and he was sure just a little blood would do that. So he made it so that he only bleeds a little bit so it was safe enough for her to drink. (In his opinion) His wound sealed up really quick because of the presence of swarm. He brought the strawberry punch up on the counter and started pouring some punch into the one with blood first. Then his own.
“Here Dash.” She took the rigged drink. ‘MWAHAHAHHAHAAHAHA’
Cole started his first move on their home made RTS game and they were able to create. He brings ends his turn without doing anything so he can get an econ boost from the tier 2 Station. He then waited for Dash who immediately made fighters on her side of the fog of war. She saw her pick up the cup of punch and could hear a faint ‘ew what is this?’ on the other side of the RTS cloud. Then silence…Only to be broken by.
“Turn out the light.” Rainbow Dash said annoyed the next morning waking up in a drunken haze. She didn’t trust Cole with her drinks last night. She decided on going to the fridge and throwing out all the punch while Cole literally started rolling around on the floor laughing. She was forced to drink hard cider for the rest of the night.
“But I can’t control the window love.” Said Cole as he lay in the bed next to Rainbow…Almost completely naked except for his underwear.
“Yea yea yea. Just put a cloud in front of it.” She said lazily before realizing she could feel Cole’s skin up against her body. At first she felt like jumping up and zooming out. Only to be stopped by the strange amount of comfort she felt when nuzzling next to him. She subtly leans back into him and rests her head on his arm.
“Rainbow are you feeling ok?” ‘This isn’t going according to plan.’ O_o
“Yea *sigh*” She finds a comfortable position and she falls back to sleep. ‘Oh know what…This is too cute to start trolling again…Fine you win Rainbow Dash. You win.’
Cole forms a new shirt over himself and pulls Rainbow in for a nice few minutes of rest. Then after about an hour or so Rainbow lifted her head and looked around the room. Cole had washed the dishes and cleaned up the house while Rainbow lay knocked out in her bed. She looked at the window which was blocked by a cloud. She saw the time by the angle of the sun hitting it though and realized she slept in a bit late. The weather patrol didn’t need her today because she still couldn’t fly. For the time being she was pretty much stuck on the Cloud with this human. She was starting to get up before a hand came up and pulled her back to bed.
“Hey Rainbow easy you had a rough night.” Said Cole a little more caring than usual.
Rainbow blushed and said “What happened last night…Exactly?” She was afraid of what he might say next. He was in his skivvies.
“Well you started drinking hard cider after I spiked the punch with blood. I admit it was pretty funny talken’ to Rainbow Woozy for a while. You even tried to let me win at our game. Eventually you passed out on your turn and I carried you into bed.”
“Y-you carried me into bed?”
“Yea.”
“Where you next to me the whole night?” She said blushing a darker pink.

“No I was going to prank you this morning by waking up next to you. I swear I was on that cloud over there the entire night.” Cole points to a cloud that he brought into the house that was his size. He even found a towel from the closet to wrap himself in.
“Oh…Wait a prank?”
“I was going to make it seem like we had sex during the night to inspire another awkward moment!”
“Another awk---YOU WERE DOING THAT ON PURPOSE!”
‘shit’ “Well yea sorry. I understood the first few times but after a while of doing it accidently I thought it was becoming really funny that you were really sexually insecure. Soooo I decided to make it weird.” He said truthfully.
“Wait…I’m not sexually insecure!” Now deep red.
“The dark red of your face tells me otherwise. Waking up next to a creature that seems to like physical contact way to much?”
“Oh…I just…hate you right now.” She gives him a ‘going to kill you’ glare. But then Cole brings her in for a very close hug and that rage seems to disappear remarkably quick. ‘I think she likes me’ “Cole don’t let go…” ‘yea she likes me. “Cuz when I get enough room to move my hooves one will go right up your ass.”
“Oh…Well ok I won’t let go then.”
“Good.” Then unexpectedly Rainbow buries herself into Cole’s chest and sighs comfortably.
It was a few minutes later that Cole gets up slowly. Rainbow didn’t punt him across the room and she went to the fridge to get some breakfast and some punch; only to realize she threw it all out. She gives a glare at Cole and he takes the hint.
“Umm…I’ll go get you the groceries. Where is your money? I don’t got none.”
“Over there in the second dour.” She points to the kitchen. ‘she keeps money in the kitchen? Well I guess there isn’t a bank.’ Cole thought to himself when he saw the kitchen dour was full of bits. He took 1/4th of them not knowing how much he would need.
“Hey Rainbow how much do you make each payday?”
“Like 35 bits each day. Why you ask?”
“So I know how much I don’t want to use up. Better know how currency is earned before spent.”
Cole goes to the edge of the Cloud and his armored suit starts to appear on him again. Though he kept his helmet off so he didn’t seem as intimidating.
Cole walks the streets of Ponyville being greeted by stares and occasionally somepony walking up to him and saying ‘what are you?’. He ignored everything except questions. He looked around the town and found many stores. He walked inside a few and looked around. They didn’t sell food but many different selections of products. Cole didn’t think it was possible for ponies to have many types of hair products and just in general as many consumer items as humans can; but sure enough he saw products he couldn’t even identify. After a few hours of searching he came across what he believed was a farmers market. He went to the local venders and found some fruits and vegetables. Even though this was a nice thing to know he was still looking for punch and other drinks. He eventually came across an orange country pony he recognized from the hospital. But thanks to his and pinkies loud mouths and their synchronized distractions he never really got to ask who’s who. (And the Author completely forgot about it) Cole walks over to the orange pony.
“Sup!” Ponies start to stare.
“Oh hey it’s you! How’s Rainbow?”
“Doin’ fine. You know where I can buy punch? We ran out and since she can’t fly I had to go get some for her.”
“Now hold up! Ya’ll can’t fly neither!”
“Really?” Cole extends the jet wings hidden on his back and he jumps into the air at 100mph. Then he swings back and lands in front of the apple stand and makes the earth shake. Everypony went at least a foot in the air. It was followed by staring and whispers of the crowd.
“My name is John Cole of the Trinity. May I have the honor of knowing thy name?” Cole bows. (ERA CHANGE OOOOOOOOOH SHIT!)
“Wha’? How’d ya do that!”
“Names first miss.”
“Applejack. Now tell me how ya did that flying! That was the most impressive thing I ever did see!”
“Well I have technology. Frankly anyone can do it if they have my suit. Anyway I need to find punch. Or some drinks of any kind.”
“Well you can get some cider if ya’ll hankering for some. I sell that only we’re out at the moment. Maybe I can ask Granny Smith if she be willen’ te do a special order of cider.”
“That’d be nice! But do you know of a less time consuming alternative?”
“Well I aint’ sure. Ya’ll better go down to Sugarcube Corner and pick up some. They aint got premade punch but they give out but they got dem doohickeys that carry the punch stuff in em.”
“Oh ok point me in the direction.” Applejack raises her hoof in the direction of sugarcube corner. It was visible from where they were. “Thanks Applejack. I’ll let Rainbow know you offered to make cider for her.”
“Don’t you want cider too?”
“Thad be nice. Though I prefer water at the moment. I’m not sure what kind of diseases any liquids might have. Or even what ponies would be carrying. I mean this is a new world to me.”
“Umm…Ok sugar cube maybe ya’ll better be goin’.” She said as she finally notices how much attention Cole is attracting.
“Well all right. Have a nice day applejack.”
As Cole walks off some ponies start to follow him. Discreetly of course but they were still following him. When Cole reached sugarcube corner he noticed how many ponies actually wanted to see what he was up to. There were twenty ponies following him. Twenty isn’t that much but in a small town like Ponyville that’s impressive. When Cole went inside some of the group were daring enough to go in after him. Though not all thought it was a good idea to go into the same building all at once. Twenty ponies coming into the store not wanting to buy anything was way more suspicious than…It was suspicious…
“COLE?” Said a cheery hyperactive voice.
“PINKIE?” Said Cole in an almost equally yet not so hyperactive cheery voice.
Pinkie rushed out of the kitchen and jumped into Cole’s arms. Cole had no idea what she was doing but managed not to drop her when her body slammed into his chest.
“Cole want me to throw you a party! WE CAN HAVE A WELCOME TO PONYVILLE PARTY AND A WELCOME TO EQUESTRIA PARTY! You know cuz you can’t be from Equestria if you’re well whatever you come from!”
“Earth.”
“WELCOME TO EQUESTRIA CREATURE FROM EARTH PARTY! WOOOOO!”
“Hey pinks! Got any punch for me to bring back to Rainbow? She sent me out to get some while she needs rest. She got so thirsty she drank hard cider and now has a serious hang over. Was so funny!”
“She’s hung over? Pfft light weight. Sure we got some punch. Here I’ll go get you a few jugs of it!” She rushes into the kitchen
“Light weight? Did you beat her in a drinking contest?”
“Yea ten to six!” Said pinkie who stuck her head out of the kitchen then brings it back in and runs over to the fridge.
“W-wow…Light weight. I’m going to bug her about it for the rest of the day. Well after I extract any toxins from the alcohol out of her system. Know what that should have been my first goal when she woke up.”
“Here ya go!” She said with a water jug full of punch.
“Oh wow…No idea they made these! Thanks Pinkie! And I’ll look forward to a party.” Cole takes the jug with one hand and gives a side hug to Pinkie with the other. He turns around toward the door and notices the group of ponies who followed him in. There were about 14.
“Ok guys what do you want?” Said Cole to the group of ponies that looked back and fourth to one another. Cole didn’t really want to deal with this right now. He had what he came for and wanted to go back home. Though he was also conflicted with the need to integrate. ‘Rainbow doesn’t need it now right?’
“Hey guys I’ve gotta be some where. But if you want to ask anything real quick I don’t mind.”
One spoke up. “What are you doing here?”
“Well I don’t have a purpose. I accidently ended up here and I’m worken’ on a way to get back. I shouldn’t be here too long, though I’ll try to abstain from researching a way out too soon. So far I’m having so much fun with these friendly faces!” Cole looks back at Pinkie and gives a wave. She waves back.
Another ones turn. “Do you eat ponies?”
“I’d be lying if I said no.” Gasps could be heard around the room. “But I promise you that no one has to worry about me. I’m an omnivore I eat plants too.” Murmurs where going around the room. Obviously because he can eat ponies. “Anyway I’ve got to go take care of Rainbow. She asked me to do her groceries while she’s healin’ and we ran out of punch.” Cole teleported out of there back to Rainbow’s. Walking out may have proved stressful for the ponies who may have become afraid of him after that little reveal. The pony eating creature walking toward them would have ruined his reputation with some very quick as their nerves would have made them scream or run.
Rainbow Dash was lying in her bed still. She seemed just like every other drunk who woke up the next morning. In pain. ‘I thought she was able to move last time I was here.’
“Yo Rainbow you ok?”
“…no.” She said as the migraine seemed to be setting in. ‘She might have suppressed it the best she could to look strong in front of me.’
“I got a jug of punch. Want som-“
“Shh…”
“okay.” Said Cole in a hushed tone.
Cole put down the jug next to the fridge seeing that it wouldn’t fit inside of it. He knew he could heal Rainbow’s migraine with the swarm but she needs to agree to physical contact and…sharing of a certain crimson liquid. Then again he knew she did drink some of his blood so a small amount of nanobots should be inside her…small amount.
“Hey Rainbow?” Cole said hushed.
She made a groan in response.
“I can help get rid of that.”
“…please.” She said almost in the most adorable pleading voice.
Cole approaches Rainbow and he lies next to her in bed. He grabs hold of her head and he lens into her.
“what?” she said again hushed.
“Shh.” Cole puts his mouth up to her forehead and pushes his lips up against it with the objections of Rainbow. The nanobots started to carve into her head and started to make her bleed, which made her feel uncomfortable. She didn’t notice she was bleeding because Cole was pushing his head up against her head. But after a few seconds of the painful pushing of Cole’s lips into Rainbow’s skull the pain around that spot started to go away and spread around that spot, making the pain begin to subside she started to feel normal again.
Rainbow makes a pleasing ‘hmmm’ noise and Cole pulls away from her forehead.
Cole looks back at her forehead where a drop of blood was spreading around. “Hey Rainbow. That came at a small cost.” He touches her forehead and pulls his hand away showing her the blood.
“WHAT?!” She said loudly in his ear. She rushes over to the mirror and sees the small cut that begins to close up. She cleans it and it looked as if it was never there. She looks back at Cole and says. “How’d you do that?”
Cole smiles and responds “You taste like pennies!”
Author: So yea what you think? Yea I did comment throughout the chapter. Yea I did make a sexual reference that I will now go edit my story to include that to reasons why it’s teen. Yea I did forget Rainbow was supposed to have a serious hangover. Yea I am lazy and I at times stop writing because I get bored. YEA I DID BUILD THIS CHAPTER TO BE HEAVILY BASED ON INTERACTION WITH YOU! Fun right? :D If you don’t agree with that then comment and I’ll stop :)
In the end NOT BAD! I loved this chapter…kinda. But I liked how I changed up my style a bit so it started to make it easier to read.
Just a Q: Do you want me to put the names of the people talking in front with their actions THEN the dialog? (When necessary) Or do you just want me to continue experimenting with my writing until I finish the story…And you not help me at all :”(
Rainbow didn’t care that Cole tasted her blood. As long as he doesn’t try to eat her she was fine with having the stupid hominid in her home. She was finally able to fly again and she was out souring through the skies like she used too. Only her fatal mistake was asking to race Cole…There is a reason why Jump Jet Infantry (J.J.I) have the word ‘Jet’ in their title; and Rainbow now knows why.
“HOW ARE YOU GOING SO FAST!” Said the astonished ‘or pissed off’ rainbow maned Pegasus. She was wheezing from the exhaustion of trying to keep up with the ‘jet’ aspect of Cole’s suit.
“WITH MY AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!” Yelled Cole as he flies away.
“WAIT...*wheeze*…I can’t…*wheeze*…keep…” She slows down to a slight hover as Cole speeds off into the distance. Then the world goes black…
Rainbow wakes up in her bed later that night. Cole was hugging her tightly with a light blue aura surrounding the bed. Almost like a mist that looked as if it was dancing between them and each corner of the bed. She noticed that the light blue glow seemed to be lighting up the room in a beautiful phosphorescent glow. She felt almost at peace…Besides the fact a hominid was almost part of her own body, which creeped her out a bit. (Apparently ‘creeped’ isn’t a word)
“C-Cole?” She said. She only now noticed a burning sensation in her lungs as the remnants of exhaustion can still be felt from the tiring sprint. (Or dash for flying I guess)
Cole opens his eyes and sees the Pegasus has woken up. “Hey Dashie. Whatever you do don’t leave the aura ok? If you do there probably wouldn’t be enough oxygen in the air for you to breath right.”
“W-WHAT?!” Rainbow started to wheeze again.
“HEY-HEY-HEY Rainbow calm yourself! Deep breathes ok?” Rainbow nodded as her wheezing fit seemed to end.
“So what happened exactly?”
“Well you we were racing around Ponyville to start…”
(Warning this is a paragraph you can skip)(This is just back story on how Cole is treating Rainbow after he blackout)
Cole speeds ahead of the cyan Pegasus and she speeds after him. Rainbow was getting tired but her pride was telling her ‘FASTER!’. And she went faster all right. A full on sonic rainboom faster. Reaching the speed of mock ten she sped ahead of Cole; only to be quickly surprised and horrified as he zips by her with ease at a speed Rainbow could only dream of…No even faster than what her imagination could handle. Cole zoomed past her at a whopping mock twenty. Almost setting the air on fire as he passed her. In fact Rainbow could swear she saw a spark somewhere when he passed her by. Then to her horror he burst into flames and ascended into the sky at a speed no longer describable. Rainbow’s spirit was completely broken. The fastest flier in Equestria…No more. She tried in vein to pump her wings even faster but only succeeded in tiring her out even more. She kept flying pretty fast though. It was believed at some point Cole returned to her side. She pushed her body too far and now she was suffering for it. Her lungs where protesting and her heart was beating faster than her wings. Rainbow’s vision seemed to blur so much that she lost the ability to see color…Or at least distinguish between them. Her lungs finally began rioting inside her chest and she started to wheeze ever more painfully now that she was forcing herself to remain better than Cole. Cole dashes ahead once again.
“HOW ARE YOU GOING SO FAST!”
“WITH MY AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!”
“WAIT…*wheeze*…I can’t…*wheeze*…keep…”
Rainbow passes out and starts plummeting to the ground. Cole sees this happen and he dashes off to catch her. Removing his chest plates to expose it toward Rainbow so she had something relatively soft to land on in air, Cole maneuvers himself so he will be falling with Rainbow as he catches her and even then it still knocked the wind out of him when they collided. Rainbow was now safely falling wait Cole-falling?
*BAM*
They collide with the ground but not at full speed. Cole was able to slow them down enough so that there was minimal damage. Rainbow was wheezing and unresponsive. ‘Probably unconscious, but wait wouldn’t that mean she wouldn’t be wheezing too?’. Cole at that moment realized that with the nanobots inside her he could check on her vitals. She pushed herself so far to exhaustion that her body was no longer capable of getting oxygen to her limbs without some serious help. Rainbow stopped wheezing and then went limp. ‘SHIT!’
Cole rushed back to the cloud home which was the closest thing to them. There he had constructed small silos for the nanobots to reside in while he was out doing whatever. There was enough back home for him to give them a new assignment of ‘purifying the air of pollution’ and they started clearing the air around Rainbow’s bed of nothing but oxygen. Cole speeding into the house dived into the aura with Rainbow and she with each breathe she started to get better until she was sleeping rather than a ‘fucking coma.’. Cole didn’t leave her side for the rest of the day. Without Rainbow knowing it Cole even formed a knife with the swarm armor, and made a small cut in the back of Rainbow’s neck so he could get more nanobots into her system to regulate breathing. They bypassed her semiconscious mind and her more primal instincts of wheezing with the swarm that now controlled her brainwaves. Despite her bodies uncontrollable urge to wheeze the nanobots manage to make her breathe very heavily. Since never working on a pony before they needed time to adjust properly and within minutes the swarm saved Rainbow’s life. Cole remained at her side for the rest of day and into the night.
“Yea Rainbow don’t move too much. You’re life depends on it at the moment.”
“What *cough* do you mean?” Rainbow didn’t feel good and she knew why. But she had no idea how close to death she currently is. She can’t survive with breathing on her own and the swarm patches are collecting the oxygen near her.
“You need medical attention and I’m giving it to you. Just trust me on this ok?”
“Umm…Sure…” Rainbow stays in her bed admiring the beautiful dancing light show around her. “Hey Cole?”
“Hmm?”
“What are those?”
“The Swarm. They dance around us to save you.”
“Save me? But I don’t need saving.”
“No you just don’t feel it yet. Once there gone you will know why they dance around us. Now that I know you’re ok I’m off to explore. Let them dance and entertain you. You’ll realize that even though they are machines, they do have a personality of there own.”
“What do you mean? Can they talk?”
“No…” Cole seems distant “But they are known for expressing themselves.”
Cole teleports away. ‘He’s probably off on an adventure…Just like the fastest flier in Equestria should.’ Thought Rainbow Dash still a little pissed off. Rainbow gets up and makes her way to the edge of the bed and steps out of the light blue aura. The pain inside her chest begins to climax as she goes into a coughing fit and then starts to wheeze. Rainbow is panicking and trying to find air to no avail and she tries to make her way back to bed. Only being held back by cramps she never noticed before and muscles that were so exhausted she couldn’t hold up her own body weight. She collapses on the floor and the burning in her wings felt like an uncontrollable inferno. ‘Is this how I’m going to die? In my own home and NOT the fastest flier in Equestria!’. Then suddenly it became easy to find her breathe again, not only that but the inferno seemed to be extinguished almost instantly. She looks around and noticed that Cole’s ‘Swarm’ that was hugging the bed adjusted to include Rainbow who was sprawled on the floor. ‘Did…did it save me?’ Rainbow thought to herself. ‘Did the swarm…come to my rescue?’. Rainbow begins to get back into bed. She notices that the Swarm that danced around her seemed to follow her every movement as if wrapping her in a protective bubble.
“A-are you guys…” She stopped realizing how silly it must be for her to be talking to light blue mist. But then again the mist did move to help her when she needed it. “Did you guys save me?” The swarm seemed to be still for a moment as if it were to respond in some way. Or maybe that was its way to respond. Rainbow couldn’t tell but she did feel thankful that the swarm saved her. She then rested on the bed for a few minutes before she realized she was hungry.
“Hey can you guys follow me to the fridge? I need something to eat.” Rainbow moves to get up out of bed and goes over to the fridge. She pulls out an apple and some carrots. She didn’t really care for making dinner because she didn’t feel quite right yet. And she doesn’t really care for cooking anyway since she was bad at it. After finishing her food she grabs punch and drinks a cup. Then she heads back to bed before feeling the urge to spread her wings for a moment. As she does this the mist begins to weave between her lower wing feathers and the sensation was…Amazing. Rainbow caught herself moan then looked around the room felling a bit embarrassed that she did that.
The rest of the night was quiet…For her at least. Cole on the other hand was out hunting.
Cole had enough. He’s been eating plants for a few days now and he never realized how much he depended on meat until he got the taste of Rainbow’s blood. He had the strangest urge to eat her when he did that and could only stop himself because of his morals. He had to find food and it was in the Everfree forest that he would go to hunt for it.
Cole used what nanobots he had with him to create scouts to sense the forest around him. He avoided all manners of predators and carnivorous plants so he wouldn’t end up becoming a prey item. Then he found a specific animal that he was sure he saw in the first episode of MLP. A manticore. Cole felt like eating something and right now being the only creature with enough meat to sustain him for a good while. ‘Know what…TIME FOR THE FUCKING HUNT!’
Cole goes high up into the trees and he forms a knife again. He waits for the Manticore to come closer before he rocket jumps into the air and slams the knife into the skull of the creature. ‘Clean kill.’ Cole then carries the manticore back to Rainbow’s Cloud home before realizing that she probably have a fit with Cole bringing that into her house. And with her being exhausted and technically out of commission she probably could receive damage from her rage. ‘I think?’ Cole decides to stash the body somewhere away from the ponies in the forest. Though he would bring back the paw back to eat. He dug a hole for the body to be placed and before he put it in the lined it with a tomb of nanobots that protected it from decaying and being eaten by worms. After he settled it down nicely into the ground he buried it and started back down the path to Ponyville. His full suit of armor made him feel quite safe from all the outside threats. Though Cole was aware that it technically was still light armor. Nanobots are good protection but when it comes to something solid you want platinum plating to keep those bullets and tribal spears from scratching you. Cole now jumps into the air and flies back to the cloud home instead of walking. It was faster.
Cole cooks the meat and eats it in Rainbow’s home. The smell of it seemed to make her move around a lot in her sleep. Eventually she woke up and looked around the room.
“What is that smell?” She cringes at the stench.
“Hmm? Oh you mean the meat?”
“WHAT? *cough* what meat?”
“I was hungry.” Rainbow looks in horror. She can’t make out the limb Cole has in his hand. It was small enough to be a hoof. But Cole finished it already and he was now holding a bone.
“W-where’d you get it?”
“Forest.”
“What animal?”
“Don’t know. It looked like a lion scorpion mix of some sort.”
“Oh that’s a manticore…You know you could have gone to the hospital and asked for an order of a liver or something.”
“Wait what?”
“Yea in Equestria we have griffons and some ponies allow their organs to be donated for them to eat. They also eat fish too. You could have just gotten an order for an organ rather than go out and hunt. It’s illegal here.”
“WAIT THEN WHY DID PONIES BACK AWAY FROM ME WHEN I SAID I ATE MEAT!”
“Well what I heard from Twilight is that ponies are afraid of you because you’re a meat eater from another world. So we don’t know how to react to that really. And now that you just proved you can hunt, ponies will be even more afraid of you.”
“Well its ok I hid the body so I can get more later.”
“Where?”
“Underground.”
“Ok…All right I won’t tell anyone about what happened.”
“Why not? I can handle myself if I need too. Besides I don’t need to worry about your laws. I’m awesome.”
“How can you not worry? You could be arrested!”
“Yea and then again I think it will be for the best. I mean I almost got you killed. I already hunted something. I even committed genoc-“ ‘shit she doesn’t know about my killing of that timber wolf pack’ “-I mean…Something else I’d rather not talk about it.”
Rainbow gives me a glare. “What…Did you do?” she said in a stern voice.
“I committed genocide against a pack a timber wolves…” Rainbow stares at Cole for a good thirty seconds.
The next morning Rainbow was well enough to fly on her own again. She told Twilight about what Cole did and she went out to get him. She also had a sneaking suspicion that Cole was also a soldier because of his strategy knowledge and he mentioned to applejack something about mercenary. Twilight decided to finally go and confront Cole about the incident. Though before hand she sent a letter to the princess about Cole’s breaking of the law and the things he’s done. She notices him flying overhead just getting the layout of Ponyville.
“COLE!” Yelled Twilight sparkle. Cole teleported in front of her.
“Ne-“
“-AAAH!” Twilight jumps back.
“…Need anything?” Said Cole with an amused smile.
“Yes! Did you hunt!?” Ponies around them stopped what they were doing.
“Yea.” *gasps*
“B-but why? You could have ordered organs!”
“Well I didn’t know that I could do that at the time.”
“You could be arrested!”
“I don’t mind. I need some time alone to think of how to get back to my home anyway.”
“You broke the law and you don’t even care?”
“Nope.” There was a long silence while many ponies started discussing amongst themselves.
“The princess is going to hear about this! And she’s going to pass judgment on you!” She said in the most hostile tone she has ever used.
“That’s supposed to scare me Twilight Sparkle?”
Ponies dropped their conversations to listen again. Twilight’s mouth was practically on the ground. The princesses’ judgment didn’t scare this creature from another world? The highest authority doesn’t scare him… “Y-yea it was…”
“Well Twilight Sparkle I wasn’t expecting hostility to come from a majestic creature such as yourself.” Cole said politely, and then his gaze wonders to the ponies around him and then back to the lavender pony with eyes that could turn water to ice, and air to rain. “I hoped that our kind could live amongst each other in mutual understanding and peace. But obviously you would rather hold your social prejudice closer to heart than the need for peace.”
“WHAT! YOU THINK THAT I’M JUST IGNORENT?”
“Temper Twilight Sparkle. Go write a letter to the princess telling her of how ‘godless’ you can be.” (In the future godless means “Without mercy” it’s a metaphor.)
“G-godless?” Twilight seems genuinely confused.
“Really? YOU ARE GODLESS! BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA” Cole drops on his back and starts to roll around. Quite literally ROFLing.
“STOP THAT THIS IS SERIOUS! I’VE REPORTED YOU TO THE AUTHORITIES ALREADY!”
Cole slowly stops laughing. “Let the authority come. I’ve fought them before in the name of freedom and justice and I will fight them again, only to defend my honor.”
“Y-you’re an outlaw?” Twilight seemed genuinely shocked. She expected Cole to be lying about his origins and reasons for being here but an outlaw was taking it a bit far. “Wait so you’ve fought your own home land!”
“Only because the leader was starving the citizens because he wanted more food for the rich! I am the man of the free people. And I will tell you the story of how I came to that decision of fighting my superiors. Only in a more private setting and with Rainbow Dash present.”
“W-with Rainbow? But why?”
“Because I think she needs to hear the story too.”
Twilight brings Cole to the library and they start to discuss more about their world leaders. Cole gave some specific details about the space wars and the more he told Twilight the more she was certain it was futile to restrain him. Everyone was there. Rainbow, Spike, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie.
Spike was first to ask a few questions. “So you fly a space ship! That’s so cool! What does it do?”
“The Trinity was known for eradicating populations. Its how it got its name as the bringer of atomic flame.”
“Whoa.”
“Enough spike!” Said the lavender unicorn again. “Now Cole tell me that story you said you would tell us.”
“Well all right.” Said Cole “It began a while ago when the rations where cut. I was living in a small village retiring from armed service. I was a general in the Soviet Alliance wars.” The ponies look to each other for an answer and finding none returned to Cole “We had no food for the village and we were all beginning to starve. Thankfully there was some livestock that we could buy and that kept us fed for a while…Then they stopped supplying us meat. We had little food and we were all beginning to starve. The only way we could survive was by killing a dog in the town…The dog was owned by a little girl named Jenny. We had to take the dog from her and kill it for food.” Applejack looked stunned. “We were so hungry it seemed the best option. It was too! We were able to live off those calories until the rations came our way again…But I will always remember us lying to her about how the dog ran off during our hunt for food…Believe me when I say it broke my heart when she asked us where ‘bud’ went. That lie tore me up inside and I just couldn’t take it. I decided to attack the soviet Convoy and liberated its rations to our village and the neighboring towns. People got inspired and started fighting back realizing that the soviet forces were incapable of fighting us all off. They had very powerful weapons but with our numbers it didn’t matter and we soon got a hold of them ourselves. We eventually won and making a secure new government for our people. Then the new guy we put in charge inspired us to take over the galaxy. We could do it too! That was the scary part. With the size of the rebel army we acquired we could own the universe. So we tried. And we lost. And then I was the new beacon of hope for my people.”
Applejack seemed on the verge of tears at the thought of being lied to about Winona’s death.
Twilight noticed something about the stories Cole was telling…They were all in the past. “Wait hold on Cole…The events you’re telling me about seem to be taking place hundreds of years apart. How could you be the general in each one?”
“What do you mean? My life span is large enough for me to live throughout those times.”
“How?”
“Well medication and life enhancing genetic engineering.”
“What?”
“Basically…I’m over 600 years old right now…Well exactly 631 years.”
“Like I’m going to believe that.”
“Twi.” Said Applejack. “He aint lyin’.” She said with a serious tone mixed with shock…
“B-but that’s not possible! That means he could live as long as the princesses!”
“Well I kinda am living as long as the princesses right now aren’t I?”
Ok here I am in a dungeon…In Canterlot…Other’s would probably think I did something terrible to get here. To be honest. I did much worse than that. I killed to get what I wanted. Not only that but I killed someone who cared enough for me to try to take care of me. She put up with all my bullshit and my trolling. She put up with me just being a total jack ass. And in return…I stabbed her in the stomach.
Cole waited outside for the princess to arrive with the royal guard. Before the next day he watched as many episodes as he could and was able to see the season final and beyond. He saw the tragedy that was going to happen in Canterlot. And he saw it was about to happen in a few episodes. After that season final Cole looked back at his data banks about the Trinity. Everything about the ship and its cargo and programming was locked away inside Cole. He needed to save the data. The main six were behind him awaiting the princesses arrival.
He could see the princess landing in front of him with her guards by her side at all times. She steps up to me.
“Cole…I am-“
“Goddess of the sun. Suppressor of Chaos and sister of the moon. Yea I know who you are.” He said nonchalantly.
“Right. I have heard about your deeds and exploits. From what I can tell. You tried to keep your ways from disrupting my precious ponies the best you can. In return for this work that I’ve witnessed I will offer you an opportunity to redeem your name. Serve me in bettering society with your technology and I won’t sentence you to five months in prison.”
“Five months? That’s how long I will be in jail for? I’m sorry princess but I can’t take that offer!”
“So you will improve our society?”
“No! I demand a longer sentence!”
“But your crimes are minor considering you are carnivorous.”
“I’m an omnivore! I eat meat and plants.”
“But one of your food groups includes meat. Not only that but what I learned is that you had no concept of our laws.”
“Really? I kill all the time! It’s great fun. And I love to hunt!” Cole frankly had no other goal at the moment other than to go to jail. He needed alone time to think about how he ended up here in this colorful world.
“Cole I can see you’re trying to lie your way into a harsher punishment. Do you really feel you must be punished so greatly?” Celestia’s tone was that of a great kind goddess. Then again she was one. Her eyes were old and kind. They could see through Cole but they perceived the wrong part of him. ‘The part where he would mislead her’. She believed Cole truly felt sorry for his crimes and wanted to make up for it in separation of society. This is where it will begin. The great chain of events that will lead up to the final moment where everyone will benefit. But Rainbow would get the best out of it.
“Well Princess…I see I can’t convince you. Then again I didn’t really try.” Cole looks behind him and examines each of the six ponies behind him. A crowd seemed to gather from the commotion the princess made coming here. Cole chose carefully which pony he would use as an example. ‘Rainbow Dash’
Cole walks up to Rainbow and gets on one knee. His was in full body armor. He disintegrates his helmet and looks directly at Rainbow. Then underground directly below his right knee he formed a dagger laced and filled with nanobots. “Rainbow…I’m so sorry.”
“What?” She said in confusion. Just then Cole lifts his knee up throwing dust into the air and effectively lifting the dagger up out of the ground. No one notices it before it’s too late; Cole takes the dagger and thrusts it into Rainbow Dash’s chest. At the same time it injected all the nanobots into her system and effectively saving her life. It took ten seconds for the dust to clear and her friends to realize what happened. ‘he counted’
Cole gets on his knees dispersing his body armor so the nanobots could leave and be undamaged by any retaliation. The expected events would occur over the next several minutes. Rainbow would be rushed to the hospital and Cole ends up in Canterlot dungeons. Though the memory of that scream as her friends realized she could be dead still hung in his mind. But for now Cole got what he wanted…to be alone.
Months passed as the ponies continued their days without Cole. He remained deep in thought as Rainbow continued her life. She survived only because Cole saved her. Again. ‘That was probably what? The third time I almost killed her? Haha! It’s becoming a reoccurring thing.’
Cole was behind bars. Rainbow didn’t mention that he could teleport but Twilight did. She told Celestia to put him behind glass so none of the Swarm could leave. He didn’t mind this ‘special treatment’ and he rejoiced when they placed him somewhere no one could be harmed by him. Cole got to work…
Every day Rainbow would open her eyes. Inside them was the Swarm. They looked out at the world and they sent a signal to Cole so he could see through her eyes too. Watching Rainbow’s days come and go got boring but at times something…Familiar would come up. Like the episodes he watched. At this point Cole begins to piece everything together. He now believes that he didn’t just come to Equestria…He created Equestria! When the ion disrupter blasted his ions they created a parallel universe. But it was created based around the show that was downloaded in his Nanoware. This world may even be an entirely different universe just shaped in response to the disturbance. These ponies may not be ponies at all, but with that great disruption the matter and laws, the universe could have changed and they became ponies. They could even be humans before. But there was one thing for certain. It was because of Cole that their lives are this way. And there was only one thing he could do. Remove himself from Equestria somehow. But with the blueprints of the Trinity and all its memory he had a duty to preserve it.
Cole remembered that the Swarm was still under his control and immediately started to get them to do his bidding. First any available swarm came to Cole and started getting to work. First they made microscopic holes in the glass and they were able to get to him. The rest was complicated…
Princess Celestia comes to him while he was in the glass prison. Her composure was anything but calm. Even if you weren’t looking at her you could tell she was angry or even enraged by just the sound of her voice.
“Cole!” She said.
“Is something wrong?” Said Cole reverting back to his trollish self. Though now was defiantly not the time.
“Is something wrong! Yes in fact there is something wrong Cole! You harmed my citizens and for that you will be judged by myself! You should be banished to the moon. But since Rainbow lived you will not be banished. Instead you will be put to death.”
“Death? But why?”
“For an unprovoked attack on my citizens!”
“haha fair enough.” Cole gives a wicked grin and Celestia looks disgusted by his nonchalant attitude toward the whole situation.
The day of Cole’s execution. Seven days after Rainbow’s hospitalization.
Cole was being taken to the town square. Ponies gathered to see the murderer hung and they were booing him. ‘Damn didn’t know there would be such a lovely audience.’ Thought Cole. A unicorn used magic to tie a rope around his neck when he got to the gallows. Everypony became hushed as the princess of the sun joins them and says a statement of the conditions of his hanging.
“My citizens! It has been only seven days since this creature attempted to take the life of a Pegasus.” She said grimly. “Today this creature will be hung for his unprovoked assault on miss Rainbow Dash.” The crowd cheered for his death and he readied himself for the gallows. He didn’t plan on dying today. Or getting sent to the moon…Or even worse the sun. ‘Shit I’m fucked aren’t I? I’m not even done yet. Then again if they banish me I can quickly come back with my short range teleport.’ (Which was by no means short range. Short range as in can hop to ship to planet and ship to ship. So he could easily go planet to planet.) While Cole was deep in thought Princess Luna joined her sister.
“Hang the prisoner!” Said Celestia.
Cole stood there waiting for his executioner to pull the lever that would drop the plank below him. As he did he let the swarm start to cut at the rope. They removed so much matter from it the rope became brittle and once Cole fell it would snap. The executioner pulls the rope and Cole is sent falling to the ground only to be slowed down by a napping rope. *gasp* The crowd did this in unison and Cole began to laugh.
The princess swoops down and lifts Cole again to the gallows while the executioner prepares another rope. They try again with the same effect. Cole will not die…Today.
Rainbow Dash was alone today. It was hearts and hooves day after all, and she doesn’t have a very special somepony. She laid in bed looking up at the ceiling and remembered something Cole told her about the swarm when she was almost deathly ill from the high speed flight…
“What do you mean? Can they talk?” Said Rainbow.
“No…” Cole seems distant “But they are known for expressing themselves.”
Rainbow looks around the room and begins to realize something. The silos are empty. All the nanobots Cole made are gone.
“W-what? Where is the swarm?”
On cue something flashed in her eyes. It looked like a dark square. Then words came up. ‘Here we are.’ Rainbow froze for a good ten seconds. After witch the screen that showed up in her eyes disappeared and its removal from her sight brought her back.
“W-WAIT! Don’t go!”
The screen came up again. ‘It’s ok. We can’t leave.’
“B-but wait. I can’t see you? Where did you go?”
‘In you.’
Rainbow froze again. She remembers Cole once told her about how painful it was to get injected with the swarm at the library before he got arrested…For stabbing her.
“Why…did Cole try to kill me?” She asked the Swarm.
‘No. He made sure we would save you.’
Rainbow pondered this for a moment. Cole never seemed intent on harming anypony. When Cole stabbed her, Rainbow believed he had a change of heart. Though now going over it in her head it made more sense for him to not want to kill her. But if he didn’t want her to die then why would he stab her in the first place?
“Hey why would-“
‘We can’t tell you. The answer is in Canterlot.’
“But wait? Why Canterlot?”
‘That’s all we can say.’
“GOOD FOR NOTHINGS!”
*ahem*
Rainbow looks around and sees Fluttershy. She didn’t see her enter the house.
“Oh. Hey Fluttershy. How have you been?” Rainbow says awkwardly.
“I-is there anything I can help you with Rainbow?” She said with worry in her voice.
‘The silos are taking space!’ Said the screen that popped up in her view. The Swarm was helping Rainbow Dash.
“Oh umm well the silos Cole made are still here and I kinda wanted to get rid of them but they are too heavy for me alone.” She said reassuringly.
“Oh sorry…Umm I can help you.”
“Naw it’s all right Fluttershy I’ll see if I can get a few movers to help me move em. Or something along those lines. Oh yea do you need anything?”
“Well Twilight told me that they tried to hang Cole for the tenth time today.”
“What? AGAIN! How does he get so lucky?”
‘We cut the rope.’ This surprises Rainbow but she tries to keep it cool the best she can.
“I. Umm don’t know. But maybe they will choose to banish him soon.”
“Huh? Why is that?”
“Well since they can’t hang him they might want to send him to the moon. Hasn’t been done for a while now…Not since nightmare.”
“Yea…” Rainbow thought about what Cole would do on the moon only to be snapped back into reality by Fluttershy’s next statement.
“Twilight got a letter from the princess saying that you can visit him.”
Rainbow tensed up. “What?”
“She said it would help you with closure to this incident with Cole. You know you’ve been pretty distant lately. You even stay indoors for days at a time now.”
“Don’t worry I’m ok.”
“But Rainbow Dash.-“
“I said I’m fine!”
“Oh ok then…” Fluttershy starts to go out the door defeated.
‘Please go Rainbow’ Rainbow Dash read the statement then thought it over.
“Wait Fluttershy.” Fluttershy was about to take off back to the library before Rainbow caught her. “I’ll go to Canterlot.” Rainbow said lowering her head.
A week later Rainbow Dash went to Canterlot for some closer. The whole week she thought of what she was going to ask and the only question she could even think of was. Why? Even though the Swarm tried to answer her she still didn’t exactly know why. Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow both went to Canterlot together. Applejack came to make sure whatever Cole said wasn’t a lie. Twilight came to help them around Canterlot. Rainbow went for the closure that could be provided.
They went to the train station and when they boarded the Swarm started acting up again.
‘He needs to tell you something.’ Rainbow didn’t respond because she was with her friends.
‘Cole won’t be the one who tells you.’ Rainbow ignores it again.
‘He really does feel sorry for his actions. But he gave you a gift.’
“What gift!?” She said surprisingly loud. She turns her head to face her friends Applejack and Twilight who were staring at her in confusion. Rainbow started blushing.
“R-Rainbow is there…Something wrong?” Said Twilight.
The Swarm tried to bail her out again. ‘When I saw Cole last he wanted to give me a gift.’ Rainbow saw that and she played it out.
“Sorry Twilight. It’s just that, well when I last saw Cole he told me he had something to give me. I was just thinking out loud.” She tries to smile but it was a nervous one. Twilight accepted the answer but Applejack being the element of honesty saw the lie. She mouths ‘what the hay Rainbow?’ and Twilight doesn’t notice it.
Later that day Applejack led her to an open cart when Twilight got deeply involved with a book about ‘Materials and Magic’.
“All right Rainbow. I don’t know what’s goin on in that head of yours but I sure would like to know.” Said Applejack.
“Umm I really don’t know what you’re-“
‘TELL HER ABOUT SWARM!’ The Swarm was determined not to keep secrets from Applejack.
“Umm…Ok Applejack.” Applejack looks somewhat surprised at how conflicted her friend looked at that moment. “Well you know how Cole made his cloths and that jet thing?”
“Uh huh?”
“Well that stuff is called the swarm…And before he stabbed me he gave me the ability to use some of it.” Applejack was genuinely shocked. “It swims around in my body and it pretty much is able to heal me whenever I’m injured. It’s the reason I was able to heal so fast…And live.”
“Now hold on just a moment. Are you sayin’ that Cole gave ya the chance to survive that attack?”
“Well yea…And another thing.” Applejack raised an eyebrow. “The Swarm…Can speak to me. Through text in my eyes.”
“What text in your eyes?” Applejack leans in closer to see something that Rainbow truly believed was there.
‘Actually Rainbow. Your eyes aren’t seeing the text. Your mind is.’
“Oh umm the Swarm just told me that, my mind is seeing text?”
‘Yes’
“Yea my mind is seeing the text. So you can’t…”
‘Read it’
“Read it.”
Applejack was in awe at the moment. Everything Rainbow said was true.
“Rainbow…Does it have any kinda connection with Cole?” Asked Applejack
‘Cole made us. But we are in your body so we serve you.’
“It said that since their in my body they serve me.”
“Well all right Rainbow. But if it ever gives ya trouble come get me!”
Their conversation was over and they rode out the rest of the trip quietly. Applejack’s opinion with Cole is now conflicted. She hated him for hurting her friend, but he gave her something so she could live through it. The only question she had now was why? In fact that was the question on everyone’s mind.
Rainbow finally gets a chance to meet up with Cole in the dungeons of Canterlot. Cole was doing push ups out of boredom. He was on 3,045 and the guards who were passing by stopped to watch him do 1,000 more before continuing on with their shift. Every guard has done push ups as they were mandatory for training. They all could feel the burn after at least 50 or so but when Cole didn’t even break a sweat at 100 they couldn’t help but stare for a few hours. Dash walked in on the awed faces of two guards as they watched Cole do pushups. She almost laughed but realized who they were looking at. Princess Luna accompanied her into the dungeon with Twilight and Applejack in tow.
“3,046” Cole was counting out loud. Applejack immediately stopped and had the same awed expression as the guards when she realized he was counting how many pushups he was doing.
“C-Cole?” Said Rainbow.
Cole looks at Rainbow and without any emotion he looks back at the ground and continues. “Jail time is so boring. I’ve even resorted to exercising to keep myself from committing suicide.” He stopped at the peak of a push up and looked back at Rainbow. “RAINBOW YOU’RE ALIVE!” He dashes into the glass in front of Rainbow. “Rainbow I love you!” He says with a grin ear to ear.
“Umm okaaay? Why’d you stab me?” Said Rainbow with a raised eyebrow.
“So I can be here in Canterlot.” Luna’s had the widest eyes at this point. “I needed a place to stay other than your cloud home.” Cole still had is grin.
“Wait so you stabbed me so you couldn’t mooch off me? THAT IS THE DUMBEST REASON TO DO THAT!” (Rainbow Rage all the way) Applejack notices that what he said was true. However she couldn’t read him like she could back at the library…Something was…off.
“Hey Bow calm down girl.” Cole still had a signature smile.
“CALM DOWN? YOU STABBED ME!”
“For a better reason than to just get out of your hair trust me.” Applejack was became flabbergasted…He was telling the truth about leaving for a much better reason but he was also telling the truth about a place to stay. She dismissed it quickly since they sounded more like a double reason than a conflicting statement.
“Did you know Cole is no longer the fasted flyer in all of Equestria?” said Cole.
“IF YOU EVER GET OUT I WILL BEAT-Wait what?” (Rainbow ceases her all caps rage)
“Yea since Cole is dead that puts you back on top.” Now Applejack is at a lose. She can tell when people lie. She can tell when people try to misguide you. And she saw none of this in Cole. Twilight and Rainbow looks at her with a questioning look. Trying to make sure what Cole said is true. They didn’t believe him but when they saw Applejack they weren’t so sure.
Applejack speaks. “W-wait…If yer not Cole then…Who are y’all?”
“Unit 23627 of the Trinity at your service.” The not Cole stands up and takes a bow.
“Wait so ya ain’t Cole?”
“Yes I’m not Cole. And I know it would be difficult for you to remember my full name so please call me Unit.”
“Ok unit.” Said Twilight. “Where is Cole? If he died his body must be somewhere.”
“I’m glad you asked! Ok I’m not but I’m programmed to be emotional. Well Cole’s body never left your sight. This is Cole’s body…I’m just wearing it.”
There was a group of ‘eeeeeeeeww’s in the room.
“What? I know it must be a bit difficult to understand but for now please accept my apologies as I now leave you all.”
Cole explodes into dust, shattering the glass and his ashes seem to fly away on their own accord. Rainbow was first to give chase.
Eventually Twilight and Applejack caught up to Rainbow. She was at the mouth of a cave that went into the mountain side with her own mouth as open as it was physically possible. She was in awe. The others look down into the cave and see why. A great steel ship was being constructed by swarms and slowly was forming around the cave. The walls of the cave were being converted into plate metal and the ship was unfinished. Painted on the side of the ship was “Trinity of Triumph”. They walk into the cave together and come up to a platform that seemed to allow one to walk into the decks. They go inside and inspect it before they hear a voice.
“I don’t know but I want to find out. Come on girls!” Said Twilight.
Rainbow almost missed what twilight said because the swarm was acting up again.
‘Do you know where you are yet?’
“No I don’t.” Rainbow said out loud drawing the attention of Twilight and Applejack. Applejack realized what was going on but Twilight has yet to find out.
“Rainbow we have to do this.” Said Twilight.
“Hey Twi? Lets head on in without her ok?” Said AJ
“But we should stick together.”
“No Twi it’s ok. This place is still being built. Besides the voice said we’re clear to go around right?” (wolfGear is done with southern accents for today)
“B-but AJ” Applejack pushes her through the double doors away from Rainbow and they leave.”
‘This is the Trinity of Triumph. The ship General Cole commanded.’
“But why would he rebuild it?” Said Rainbow now alone with her swarm.
His death was necessary for Equestria to continue on its own timeline rather than the one set in stone by the Trinity’s mainframe.
Rainbow looks around at the room she’s in. She sees a blue light in an adjacent room and she goes into it.
Rainbow Dash of sky clan. That is how we know you. That is what we know you as…I was told by Cole to tell you the reasons why he had to die.
Rainbow looks at the large screen now before her.
When Cole came into this realm…Well when Cole created this realm he had a few files on him that shaped his molecules into a new dimension. He realized that him living in this world was destroying it because he was a factor that never should have existed. By killing himself it allowed to world to stabilize and run without his foreign interference. He was an unnatural element in a perfect world. This could have collapsed all time and space and killed everything that has done right and wrong.
“…What?”
His life was destroying Equestria.
“Oh…WAIT WHAT?”
If you were to live he had to die. He poisoned himself and got his swarm to take over his body until you came and they would explain everything. Or most of it, and bring you here for me to tell you. But Rainbow Dash of Sky Clan this is not all the information you need to know.
“Ok what else do I need to know?”
The wall opens up to her left. Inside there a massive space with what looked like a large aquarium. There was a platform that went from the room she was in to the cylinder with water inside. It was a strange blue liquid though. There was something in the center of it too.
“What…The hay?” Rainbow walks closer and closer to the cylinder that was attached the ceiling and floor. There was a big machine attached to it and the side facing her had a control panel. She walked up to the panel and saw a human figure with heartbeat monitors and something called ‘Restoration 10%’ on it. “What is this?” No response.
She looked at the tank again and saw a fetus inside it. It looked human. She sits there thinking. Deep in thought too. She’s never encountered this before and she knew it had to be a fetus. It didn’t look fully formed. She compared it to a fetus of a foal and there were major differences. She realized this could only mean one thing…
My name is BioChemicalWolfGear and I am now ready to finish up this story and continue on to making a different title. I’m sorry if I ended it too abruptly. But know what…The way I ended this one leaves me the opportunity…To make more in the future.
The ending wasn’t that exciting I admit but what eves. I have a new project I REALLY WANT TO WORK ON! I guarantee it will be ten times greater than this ;P
