The story of the forbidden love of Okzinous and Solar Nova (the parents of Death Shadow)
The story of the heart warming love between a demon of Tartarus and a very kind pegusi how they met and how thier love grew and became something beautiful (note: I'm not the romantic type so don't expect this to be a good romance story)
I was never like any of the other demon. I didn't enjoy suffering or any of the other things that demon do. One day I was going to head up to the surface when "Okzinous where do you think your going," asked the Devil.
"Just going to the surface to see what going on up there,"
"Okay but first you must fill out the required forms and paper work," the Devil replied.
"Very well then." I replied
When I got the forms I was shocked it was at least four stories tall. I didn't think I'd ever finish it but, all I wanted to do was get myself out of Tartarus. When the other demons saw me with the paperwork the said to me
"Oh what's wrong softy can't hand the heat," now I know it doesn't seem like much but to a demon that's the biggest insult ever.
When I start to fill out the forms they were very in depth. They wanted to know everything. Filling them out was the easy part the hardest part was dealing with all the other demon passing by and calling my a softy. There was a time when I just wanted to give up. Everything seemed pointless but, my desire to get out of this hell hole gave me the little hope I needed to keep going. After weeks of filling out the forms I was done. I checked them many times to make sure that the Devil would approve it.
The day had come the day I'd find out if I was approved ir not. The Devil stood before me and said "Okzinous as high ruler of Tartarus I hereby say that you are approved for your request to be allowed acess to the surface. However you may only be on the surface for one day at a time."
"YES." I replied to him "Thank you thank you."
The Devil then said to me "Yes yes good for you now go before I change my mind."
On that statement I left. I had never ran so fast in my life within 5 minutes I was out. This was my first time on the surface and I never forget it
"Oh my poor Okzinous you went through all that just to get out of there," said Solar Nova as she put down Okzinous's journal.
I was just walking through Manehatten one day when I ran into a strange fellow. We were both Walking when we bumped into each other. I dropped the boxes I was holding he said to me "Sorry."
Then I said to him "No it was my fault any way I'm Solar Nova what's your name."
He seemed a little off but he then said back to me "My name is Okzinous."
I told him "Very interesting name."
He happily replied "Thank you." He was silent for a moment then he asked nervously "I have nothing to do so would you care to hang out for the day?"
Even though he seemed off he also seemed nice so I told him "Okay,"
That day with that odd pony was one of the best days I've ever had. He was one of the kindest ponies I've ever met. I asked him "Would you like to do this again tomorrow?"
He replied sadly "Yes I would but I can I'm only available every other day but we can hang out on those days."
I told him "Okay but why."
He said "Perhaps one day I'll be able to tell you."
So we meet and hung out every other day and we became the best of friends we would see movies. We liked all the same things like food and we even had the same sense of humor. But the best day was went we decided to start going out. He was the perfect gentlecolt he took me to all of my favorite places. I think the reason I liked him so much is that we both found the idea of somepony else suffering a little funny that was the one thing my friends found a bit off about me but I didn't care.
One day though we hit a rough patch that seemed near un-fixable when he told me why he was only available every other day. When he told me he was a demon it he first thing I said was "What! How is this possible you act nothing like a demon."
He replied "That's why I come up here where everyone isn't a jerk, are you okay with this."
I looked him right in his eyes and said "Yes? No? I don't know I'm going to need some time alone to process this."
Okzinous told me "Take all the time you need." Than he left I wasn't sure what to think, my best friend and coltfriend is a demon. For a time I thought that since he is a demon I souldn see him again. Then I remembered all the good times we had and how he is one of my best friends. I went back and forth on these thoughts for days. Eventually I decided that even though he is a demon he is still one of my best friends.
I went and I told him that I didn't care that he was a demon. Then at the same time we both said "I love you," Okzinous looked like he was about to cry that made me so much more happy.
We continue to date for months until we decide to wed. Of course I never told any of my friends that Okzinous was a demon not even my other best friends. Our wedding took twice as long to plan mainly because Okzinous was only allowed on the surface every other day. The wedding was not your average one mainly because Okzinous had his friend Death be his bestman. But the wedding still when off without a hitch. The reception was wonderful we all partied, talked and, drank the night away.
We've been happily married for about a year when Okzinous asked me "Honey should we have a foal together?"
I simply replied to him "WHAT?!? How would he/she even fit in in pony society or demon society also why."
He said to me "Because if the Devil found out about us he'd have me executed and if that does happen I want you to have something to remember me by."
I could tell he was super serious about this so I said to him "Well than first lets just pick a name for him/her."
He told me "I kinda want to name him Death."
I asked him "Why?"
"Because, with his/her DNA being half demon there is a good chance some aspects of his/her personality will be cynical and dark and I think his/her name should reflect that." He explained.
So I told him "Okay but just Death won't do that will make him/her an outcast. How about Death Shadow it rolls off the quite nicely doesn't it."
He asked "Why Shadow?"
"Because his name is already sorta cynical plus I remember once when you told me that Demon are very loyal to thier friends so he/she will always have his/her friends back he'll be like thier shadow in a way." I replied
"Well Death Shadow it is then!" He said happily.
That night was unlike any other I would have to be one of the most romantic nights of my life a wonderful date a my favorite restaurant finished of with some fun in the bed room.
It was three months after I got pregnant and it was amazing. We had told my friends they were extremely happy the asked us everything. Like what's the foals name the were a little surprised by the name we chose but they liked the sound of it. Okzinous was becoming worried that the Devil was going to find out. I reassured him that everything would be fine. Little did I know that would be the worst decision I would every make
(The rest of this chapter will be told from the POV of Okzinous)
I woke up in my home in Tartarus as I always do but there was a knock on the door. I said "Who is it?" No answer, so I asked again "Who is it?" So with no answer I went to the door and it was two of the Devil's guards. I asked them "how may I help you today?"
They replied "the Devil wants to see you... NOW!"
I told them "Um... why does he need to see me?"
"He says its personal." they replied back
"Okay so take me to him then." I said to them
They put a bag over my face and took me through the most lewd path I have ever felt. When they took the bag off my face I was face to face with the Devil. He said to me "Hello...... Okzinous... Make any friends on the surface?"
I very nervously replied "No no no... I haven't made any friends."
The Devil said "oh really what about this one?" He then put a picture of my beloved Solar Nova in front of me.
I cautiously replied "who's that I've never seen that pony before."
The Devil said in a malicious tone "don't play dumb Okzinous! I know all about you and this mare. You got married and I know what that leads to. It was a good thing a stopped you before you basically destroyed the world. Now that I know you must DIE!"
"No! Please Satan don't I love her just let me live!" I said in the most terrified voice I've ever made.
"No your death will be slow and painful." He said
Just then he started to skin me I was uttering the most horrific sounds ever made. After about what I think was an hour he was done. I asked weakly "please just put me out of my misery."
He simply replied "Oh but we're having so much fun."
He then proceeded to strap me to a table and set up a giant axe pendulum he told me "this will cut you into little pieces moving 1 inch up you body every 30 minutes. He turned it on and my demise began. It would swing and swing cutting through me till the point wear I just wanted it to kill me already. After the first hour I was to weak to scream any more. This was it I was going to die then with my last breath I said "Carry on my sweet Solar Nova and Death Shadow carry on," and so was the end of Okzinous.
I woke up as I always have I got ready for my day and then I heard a knock at the door. "Oh that must be Okzinous." I said in a cheerful tone but when I opened the door it was just Death.
"Hello Solar." He said in a somewhat depressed tone.
I replied "Hello Death, what do you want and where is Okzinous?"
"Yeah about Okzinous..." He began to say sadly.
"What happened to him is he alright?" I said to him
He gulped and said "Satan found out."
"What! How! Is Okzinous okay?" I said very in a very worried tone.
"No, Satan gave him a slow and painful death." He said looking like he was to cry "Will you be okay Solar?"
"Yeah I think I just need some time alone to process this." I said crying a river of sadness as I felt my heart break into a million pieces.
"Okay if you need anything you know how to reach me." He said in the most sincere tone a being of death could muster.
"Thank You Death, just Thank You." I said as he left.
(1 month later)
Since Okzinous' died I fell into a deep depression. I awoke to the sound of a knock at my door.
I ask "Who's there?"
"It's me Death, may I come in?" He asked
I told him "sure what do you want?"
"I know your depressed I miss Okzinous to he was the nicest friend I've ever had the honor of having." He said
"And." I asked
"Thier are ponies who care about you and can't stand to see you like this also there is still one this you have to remember him through." He told me
"And that would be?" I inquired
"That." He said pointing at my belly. "That child will need you to guide him/her in life so he/she doesn't become what Satan thinks he/she will. Now let's you I and your friends have a party to help get you out of this funk." He said enthusiastically
"Very well." I said solemnly
The party was the most fun I've had in ages. The food tasted like a dream everything was so sweet. The funniest thing about the party was that Death of all beings came up with it. From then on I was much much happier. After the party I thanked Death very much for this. Things were looking up.
(9 months later)
It started out like any other day I woke up and went out to lunch with my friends then suddenly I felt a surge go through my body it was like nothing I'd ever felt before it only lasted 6 seconds though.
My friend asked me "What's wrong Solar are you ok?"
"Yeah just a twitch I'm sure it's nothing." I replied
So we finished lunch and hung out the rest of the day and ever hour that same surge would just happen again ever hour so I went to the doctor about it and
He said "you're in labor."
I responded like anypony would with a simple "WHAT!!!!"
"Relax we have all the equipment necessary to do this." He replied calmly
So they hooked me up to everything and I start to push.
(Many excruciatingly painful hours later)
"Congratulations it's a very healthy baby colt," the doctor said happily
"Let me see him" I asked
"Very well," he replied happily as he handed him to me
He was small with a grey coat and black mane. His eyes were a saturated green with slit pupils and on his back two little bat wing his ears were curved and pointed at the top they were like his little demon horns.
"Have you picked a name?" Asked the doctor
"Death Shadow will be his name and yes I'm positive." I told him
"Okay his name will be Death Shadow?" He said
Then one of the nurses said in a alarmed tone "her vitals are dropping!"
"What!!! Oh no." He said in a sad voice
"WHAT is it!" I shouted
"Miss. Nova I am sorry to say but... Your dying." He say with a face covered in tears
"How long do I have" I said sobbing with Death Shadow in my arms
"An hour." He said
"Then I'll spend it with my son" I said
"Okay." He and the nurses said leaving the room
"So Death I guess that gives me an hour to tell you about what you need to know." I said trying to be happy "you aren't like regular ponies your half Demon so when I'm gone you have to be good. I hope you turn out like your father he was a great pony he was the kindest demon that ever lived." I was bawling like a baby but before I knew it the hour was almost up and I felt so weak the last thing I said to my child before I died was "Death Shadow I love you."
