A war that spread to ponyville. The main six all split up. some alone. Some with another.
Five years have passed since the main six have defeated Nightmare Moon. Ponyville has lived in a peaceful time since then. After Twilight and the gang had sealed Nightmare Moon, they thought they would never see her again. Until now. Somehow Nightmare moon was able to come back without a host. In search for a host she thinks of only one pony and sets her sights on her; Princess Celestia.
This is a story I was thinking hard about. It wasn't going to happen but it is now. I am going to spend as much time as I can on this. If somepony out there would be kind enough to make a picture of the main six together in a wasteland setting and all of them looking ruffed up that'd be nice. (Ps I am NOOOOT an artist. I'm terrible at drawing XD)

The war had begun a year ago and had spread around the world.
"Twilight come with me. We must hide." "But what about my friends?" "They'll be fine I can feel it. But I have doubts for us follow me." "Okay Celestia."
Nightmare Moon returned but had no power over the sun or moon. She needed a host. A magical host with these abilities.
"Hey what are you doing!?" "I have to find my sister!" "WAIT SWEETIE BE-"
Who is she searching for you may be asking?
"Be a dear and follow me I need you to help me find my sister." "But what about Mrs. and Mr. Cake?" "They'll be fine my dear we've gotta find Sweetie Belle." "Alright I'll come wi-" *Smash "AAAH!" "I'm fine, I'll meet up with you later!"
She's looking to control the controller of both the sun and night.
"You've gotta go find your friends." "What about you da-?" "I'll be fine, don't worry about me!" "......Alright but you better come back to me."
The one who defeated her years ago.
"Big Mac take care of her. N' don't try to talk about me much will ya? I'm not sure if I'll make it back or not." "Eeyup." "I've gotta find her... knowing her she'll try to stop this darn thing by herself." "I understand how you feel now go I'll look after her."
She's looking for the one who taught Twilight everything she knows and then had her defeat her years ago.
"Luna, what's going on?" "I'll explain later right now though we've gotta go." "Alright but, will my animals be safe?" "....Yes...they'll be fine, now let's go quickly now."
She's looking for the one named...
"Trixie! you can stop this can't you!?" "What are you talking about!? That's the nightmare of the moon!" "But I thought you said you were great and powerful!" "Yes I did but..." "Well then go get her!" "...Aaalright...." "Who dares to stand in my way!" "..Mmmeee the GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIX- AAAAAAH"
"Celestia...When did you get your cutie mark?" Twilight asked childlike. "Didn't I tell you dear?" Celestia said jokingly. "Yeah, but I want to hear it again." Twilight said. She and Celestia both had hidden whenever the war came to Ponyville. It was in a secret complex only two ponies know about. "Okay. Well it all started...." Celestia told Twilight the story of how she got her cutie mark. Although Twilight loved hearing the story. She didn't really pay attention this time. She was happy being able to bond with her old teacher again. They haven't done so since she was just a little filly. She cherished every moment she was with Celestia now, not knowing if she'll one day be taken away from her, or if the war would end and she won't get to talk to her. She was always so busy and the most communication she got was whenever she came to Ponyville or when she wrote her a letter. She'd always been on time. Before it was because she didn't want to get pulled back into magic kindergarten, but she got over that...now it was because she wanted to communicate with her. And now she finally got what she wanted. to spend time with her again.
"Uuuugh, AppleBloom I miss my scooter." Scootaloo whined. "I miss Zap Apple Pies but you don't hear me complainin'." AppleBloom said wearing her sister's hat. "I think my scooter is more important than your pies." Scootaloo said "Oh yeah well I think my pies are better than your scooter!" AppleBloom retorted. "Nuh uh!" Scootaloo said. "Yeah huh!" AppleBloom said. They both fell silent. Thinking about Sweetie Belle. They hadn't seen her in years and without her they argue. They never really realized that she'd be the one that stopped the arguing most of the times. After about five minutes. "I'm sorry." Scootaloo said sorrily. "It's fine." AppleBloom said. "Hey, maybe we got our cutie marks for arguing?" Scootaloo said jokingly. AppleBloom looked jokingly, and of course didn't see anything. Scootaloo laughed and AppleBloom joined in. Sweetie Belle had confirmed that they couldn't get a cutie mark for arguing anyways.
"Hey Aj. You still awake?" Rainbow Dash asked softly. "..Yeah..I..I'm awake...just a bit sore..." Apple Jack replied. "Don't worry I'll think of something to heal your wounds." Rainbow Dash said proudly. "Rainbow....you need some sleep...." Apple Jack said observing Rainbow Dash noticing how tired she looks. "No, I have to stay awake and keep a lookout and watch y-" Rainbow Dash was interrupted by Apple Jack. "Rainbow nopony's close by...now lay down with me." AppleJack said tiredly. Both Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash were hiding in a cave in the middle of the forest. Both of them were injured but Apple Jack has it worse. With Rainbow Dash feeling guilty for her injuries.
"This armor looks absolutely MARVELOUS if I do say so myself." Rarity said gleefully. "Now be a dear and send these to the armory will you." Rarity said, handing the full set of armor to the mailpony. Rarity was brought to a hidden village that was for refugees that escaped Ponyville. It was also the village to gather rebels so they could get ready to start the rebellion against Nightmare Moon and end her rein upon the world. Rarity was responsible for the armor.
As the mailpony went to deliver the chest plates, leggings, helmets, and boots. Rarity could only stand there and reminisce to herself about the good old times. With her friends. Sure they weren't like Rarity when it came to cleanliness, or maturity, but she still liked being with them. She missed them all so much. She didn't realize what it'd be like without any friends. She just never thought about it....None of them did. Most of all though...she missed her sister Sweetie Belle...
"Cmon Angel, we've gotta look for my friends." Fluttershy said. Angel jumped on Fluttershy's back and they continued through the smoky wasteland. Fluttershy was separated from Luna whenever the soldiers came to capture Luna. Luna told Fluttershy to fly away as fast as she could. Fluttershy escaped but had nowhere to go and didn't know where any of her friends were. She had angel though. That was fine with her. But she still wanted to make sure her friends were okay. But she had no idea where she was or where any of her friends are.
"Nightmare Moon I wish to join your side." Luna demanded. "You? What use could I have for you? You failed me as my host last time." Nightmare Moon said. Mocking her. "I know details on the other ponies...Including my sister, Celestia!" Luna said. "...Hmmm...I'm not sure I can trust you." Nightmare Moon said. "Ooooh I've been waiting to be evil and bring eternal night for a loooong time!' Luna said devilishly. "Well then. Prove it! Bring eternal night now if you say the truth." Nightmare Moon demanded. "I would but we've got that troublesome Princess that'll change it right back if I try." Luna said. "Well then why don't we go looking for her then. Tell me do you know her whereabouts?" Nightmare Moon said. "I don't know currently. Give me time in Twilight's library I'm sure I can find something." Luna said. "Permission granted. Hope to see the eternal night soon." Nightmare Moon said.
(I am going to go like this now instead of what I did on chapter 1. I had it like that so that way everyone could get a distinct whereabouts and update on what happened afterwards (I will explain more of whereabouts and what happened afterwards along the way) so I won't have to do so in one chapter and make the chapters extremely long. I'm also going with an anime style kinda storyline. and such.Tell me what you think when I get a few more chapters in. Keep notes, makes it interesting going back and seeing parts I don't explain but shouldn't be explained just explained during dialogue without your knowing of it.)
The next day
Twilight woke up with Celestia on the red velvet bed. She had grown used to this. Celestia was like a mother to Twilight now taking care of her and such. She got up to get some food and something to drink. The complex had came with the necessities such as food, water, shelter, a bath, lighting, anything that the queen would need. The one thing Twilight couldn't get used to was the complex. The complex was big enough to be another castle if it wanted. All this was prepared just in case something were to happen.
As Twilight went to get food from the cupboard, she noticed a feeling. A feeling of which she feared. She didn't know what it was though. She wandered if she should tell Celestia, but she thought that was silly. It's just a feeling nothing to fear. She got herself some apples for both her and the princess. Picking them up with her magic, she remembered Apple Jack. On "Sweet Apple Acres" kicking trees with Big Mac and Rainbow Dash helping. AppleBloom with her friends, crusading for their Cutie Marks, Pinkie Pie setting up a party, Fluttershy helping and Rarity setting up designs with them.
She stood there. Motionless. She was crying trying to not think about it. She found this impossible. So she just stood there sobbing. After a few minutes she wiped her tears and went to wake up the princess to give her some food.
After waking her up they ate their food, and talked a bit. Celestia had noticed a smear of liquid under her eyes. "Twilight Sparkles... Have you been crying?" Celestia asked. "What!? N-N-No of course not what gave you that idea!?" Twilight lied. "Twilight, you can't lie...Do you want to talk about it?" Celestia asked. Twilight then explained to her. She broke down again not knowing if her friends are alive or not. Celestia hugged her and began petting her.
"Nightmare Moon, I have discovered the whereabouts of the Princess!" Luna yelled. "Tell me at once! I grow tiresome of waiting for the night." Nightmare Moon demanded. Luna and Celestia were the only two ponies who know of the whereabouts of the hidden complex.
"Celestia... Do you know how we can stop this war?" Twilight asked.
"I'm not sure. I know one thing though. Nightmare Moon isn't much of a threat currently. However if she does get a host then I fear that we won't have a way to stop her." Celestia said, being blunt unintentionally.
"What about the Elements of Harmony?" Twilight asked with hope.
"...I fear that even if we gather the Elements of Harmony it won't be enough..." Celestia bluntly said.
"Why wouldn't it work?" Twilight asked worriedly.
"... Nightmare Moon is searching for a stronger host than her last one. That of which you defeated." Celestia said.
"Who would it be?" Twilight said fearing the answer.
"It would be me." Celestia said. "Because my magic alone is strong enough to bring both the moon and sun." Wanting to get off topic Twilight said
"So why haven't you been changing the day and night?"
"I'm not certain...but I think that Nightmare Moon will be able to feel my power. I don't dare risk bringing any amount of chaos or darkness to here." Celestia answered.
All of a sudden Twilight get's the feeling again stronger this time. She feels a pain that doesn't hurt but it causes her to flinch. She was able to see controlled soldiers and Nightmare Moon. She was able to hear their steps. Until.
"Hmmm" "What is it Apple Bloom? Something on your mind?" Scootaloo asked. "Well I've been noticing something..." Apple Bloom answered. "What?" Scootaloo asked. "Have you noticed the sun?" AppleBloom asked. Scootaloo looked up at the sun not knowing what AppleBloom was meaning. "The sun hasn't moved for these past three years." Apple Bloom said causing Scootaloo to freeze.
After a few minutes Scootaloo was finally able to mutter out "Do...Do you think that Celestia was killed during that raid?" "I hope not. I also hope not for Sweetie Belle as well." Apple Bloom said. Immediately after saying that Scootaloo had exploded in rage. "Apple Bloom I already told you she's not alive we haven't seen or heard from her for three years now. Get over it!" "But-" Apple Bloom was cut off. "But nothing she's gone and we won't be seeing her alive again." Scootaloo interrupted. They both just stood there. Both silent. Both still. Scootaloo removed her scowl. She could just sit there. A fire from a building behind them. Scootaloo had another reason why she was mad. She was worried about Rainbow Dash. They last met 3 years ago. She hasn't heard from her since. Thinking about her made her understand why AppleBloom felt the way she did about Sweetie Belle.
"Look...I'm sorry. I'm just angry." Scootaloo said. "It's fine. I know you don't like hearin' bout' it." AppleBloom said.
They continued there journey and went through a forest. They've both been looking for a shelter and so far they haven't for these past three days. Tired and weary they decide to take a break from the exhausting journey through the smoky wasteland. The smoke is from both the burning of villages and from the dust that comes from the hard, rock like ground. "We need to find shelter soon other wise I may collapse." Scootaloo said. "Same here." Apple Bloom agreed. She thinks about making a cabin out of wood but she has nothing to cut it down with nor does she have the strength and tools to make a cabin. "Uuuugh i'm soooo huuuungryyyy!" Scootaloo whined. "Yeah..." Apple Bloom said, thinking about her sister and big brother. She was separated from her brother whenever he told her to run from the hidden city. It had been attacked by Nightmare Moon's army. About three days later she had found Scootaloo unconscious, and with cuts across her body.
"Soooo Scootaloo can you remember three years back? Whenever I found you unconscious? Can you remember what happened to you?" Apple Bloom asked Scootaloo. "...Hmm..Nope." Scootaloo answered. "Nothing at all?" Apple Bloom asked. "Nothing. I just remember waking up inside some wooden cabin with you in it." Scootaloo added. "Well it's a good thing I did find you. You were cut up more then uh Jack o' lanern on Halloween." She said jokingly.
"Heh heh yeah. I owe you for that. Thanks again." Scootaloo said. Still with some of the injuries. She still remembers the day they had to leave the cabin. Reason why is because she wishes they still had it. They had to abandon it a year later because the army of Nightmare Moon had been walking through the pathway and even looked in the cabin along the way. They burned it down after searching. For the possibility of there being a survivor hidden in there. "Hey I think I got n' idea!" Apple Bloom said.
"What's the idea?" Scootaloo answered wearily, half paying attention. Apple Bloom got up and went to the tree that Scootaloo was under and kicked it as hard as she could. *Bonk "OW!" Scootaloo yelped not knowing what just happened. "What was that for?" Scootaloo asked. Apple Bloom then picks up an apple and says "Can't believe I didn't notice 'em." More apples begin to fall, with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom picking them up and eating them. They save some and then continue along through the forest.
"Hey AppleJack wake up." Rainbow Dash said. "Huh, Aaargh." Apple Jack yelped. Trying to get up forgetting about her injuries. This once again makes Rainbow Dash feel guilty about Apple Jack's injuries. "Are you alright?!" Rainbow Dash yelled in fear. "Quit yur' frettin' Rainbow I'm fine!" Apple Jack said. There was a silence. Rainbow Dash was the one to break the silence. "You... wouldn't have those injuries if it weren't for...me.." Rainbow Dash said. Apple Jack looked at Rainbow Dash. She shows wear, patched up cuts, and has a sad look on her face. "Don't fret it Rainbow Dash. I got out alright right?" Apple Jack said trying to make her feel better. "No you didn't you're so injured you can't move. It's all my fault I feel terrible." Rainbow Dash said guiltily. "Rainbow-" Apple Jack said being interrupted. "I promise! I promise I will make it up to you! I will fix what all I've caused to you!" Rainbow screamed, now crying. "RAINBOW!" Apple Jack yelled to quiet her down. They both fell silent. Rainbow Dash crying with the mixture of Anger and Guilt.
Rainbow Dash thinks about that night. the night of the raid. "Apple Jack! Apple Jack! Where are you!?" Rainbow yelled frantically looking for her friend. She landed and looked for her at "Sweet Apple Acres." She kept calling her name. "Apple Jack! Apple Jack! Please be here!" After a few more minutes. She gave up looking there and decided to go back. On her way there however she was face to face with six of Nightmare Moon's army. Two of them were Pegasi, another two of them were Unicorn, and the last two were Earth ponies. Two of the Earth ponies attacked by throwing spears at Rainbow Dash. All of them missed but one scraped her back right leg. That didn't stop her though. She flew up in the sky and flew back down as fast as she could and kicked two of them causing them both to collapse. "That's two Earth ponies down!" Rainbow Dash said.As she flew back up to go for another attack, the two Pegasi flew up to get Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash bumped into one of them, trying to knock him away, but instead he slightly moved over and kicked her to the other Pegasus who then kicked her down back to earth. Rainbow Dash fell down and tried to get up but was held down by the to unicorn's magic.
The Pegasi came back to the ground and got ready to toy around with Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash tried frantically to free herself but then the Pegasi with it's big strong hoof kicked her in the stomach and that stopped her.
"This is it huh... How I'm finished off? I always thought I would've died in an accident with the Wonder Bolts.... I just wish I could see Apple Jack one more time." Rainbow Dash thought to herself. Then the Unicorns picked her up and smashed her back into the ground. Leaving dust from the hard earth. They held her up and the Pegasi kicked her into the big barn. Breaking through the sturdy walling. She tried getting up again but couldn't. A few seconds later the Unicorns had picked her up and brought her to them. Dropped her on the ground and was about to finish her off.
She looked up and saw the Unicorns being picked up with a blue glow around them and thrown into a tree killing them instantly. Then Apple Jack came running and kicked the Pegasi into each other. Apple Jack ran and looked looked at Rainbow Dash. "My, my you look like you're in mighty pain." Apple Jack said smiling. She could only smile slightly and passed out. She woke up later in the Everfree forest. With Apple Jack by her side. Her wound was tended too and she could move but with the price of pain. Rainbow Dash knew this wasn't a safe place to be and wondered why she and Apple Jack were here. She took a long look at her. Her back left leg looked possibly broken and she was bleeding from the many cuts around her. Her hair was all messed up as if there had been a struggle. She might have been trying to get both her and Rainbow Dash out of there but collapsed before she could. The Everfree Forest was hard to see so if anypony followed her she'd be able to hide both herself and Rainbow Dash in the darkness. She picked Apple Jack's unconscious body up and began moving slowly along the pathway. Along the way she saw an opening. There was burn marks and fire strewn across the place. "This was probably where they went through." Rainbow Dash thought to herself. She continued. She kept going until she saw a forest that looked unharmed and untouched. She walked through it. It was dark out. It was night after all. She kept going almost collapsing many times but she wouldn't allow that. She was going to stay up until she found a good enough spot to hide Apple Jack and herself. She finally found a cave and dropped Apple Jack and ultimately collapsed.
The rest of the years was in this cave with Apple Jack. Sometimes getting food and water for both of them. She loved being around Apple Jack. She liked her as well. Apple Jack liking her as well. But now she's got to wake up with the stench of smoke and the feel of guilt.
"Rainbow, come here." Apple Jack said. Rainbow did as instructed and laid beside Apple Jack. Apple Jack put her hoof around Rainbow Dash and they talked for the rest of that day.
"Huh, Huh, Huh, Angel I'm getting tired. Are you sure you know where we're going?" Fluttershy asked her Bunny friend. Angel was her only friend now. Fluttershy wishes she could see her friends now but she doesn't know where they are or even if they're alive. Angel keeps pointing. Fluttershy can't see through the smoky haze and Angel can't see either nor can she smell anything but she got a scent a very weak scent and now Fluttershy is following where she's pointing. "All right I'll keep going but I need to take a break if we don't find something soon. I've been walking for a while now." Fluttershy explained. She can't fly because if she does she keeps her self open for an attack in the sky if she does. Not only that but her wing isn't in the best of shape to fly. After escaping from Ponyville and having to abandon Luna she caught caught by some guards. She escaped though but one of them had pulled her wing trying to hold her down. She flew for a while but eventually her wing gave out and she fell into the Everfree forest. When she did she saw two ponies. One was cyan with many other colors the other was orange. "Rainbow Dash? Apple Jack?" She started walking towards them. Apple Jack was injured badly and so was Rainbow Dash. But Rainbow's injuries were heal able. Fluttershy did what she could to tend to Rainbow Dash's wounds, But with nothing to patch up her cuts she was only able to stop the pain from a few spots using her massaging. technique. She had to leave them though she had to continue out and she didn't have the strength to pick even one of them up.. On her way out she saw a little white glare in the distance. Her vision was a little bit hazed but she went towards it. The white object moved towards her and jumped up into her face.
"EEE-" Fluttershy yelped as she fell down in fear. It walked up to her face and tapped her head. Her vision came to and she could see her little bunny friend "Angel? What are you doing here?" Fluttershy asked her companion. Angel mearly just pointed towards a northern direction. "You want me to go through...the Everfree forest?" Fluttershy asked shakily. Angel nodded, Fluttershy agreed she was scared of the forest but it's safer than Ponyville. As she kept going she came to a stop. She saw smoke and a small amount of light coming from the back of the forest. She continued on ahead and saw there was a fire. She went through it and saw a wasteland of smoke. She had never gone behind the Everfree forest but she was sure it didn't look like this. You could see some grass spots and burn marks all over the place. "Am I in a desert?" Fluttershy asked. Angel just kept pointing.
About an hour later Fluttershy was using reserved energy. Angel was still just pointing North. "Angel...Can I take a break now? Please?" Fluttershy begged. Angel shook her head and kept pointing. Fluttershy was about to collapse but then she saw something. A small light coming from the haze. Fluttershy hoping there would be some pony there ran towards it. When she got there it was just a small cabin with a torch on the outside of it. She knocked but when she did the door just opened. Making a creaking sound. She went inside and asked if anypony was there. There wasn't unfortunately. There was a small bed though. She went over there and collapsed.
The rest of the years have been pretty much the same. Loneliness. She had Angel but she wished there was another pony with her. She kept following Angel's directions. She had given up on finding another pony. The loneliness getting to her. But then she noticed something. Throughout all of the colors through the haze the most she'd seen was a white orange color but it darkened. "What is that Ange-" Fluttershy stopped. she saw it.
A forest all to her own.
"Angel? Is this what you were telling me to go?" Fluttershy asked. Angel nodded and with that Fluttershy then started bouncing around the forest. She hadn't been this happy for 3 years. She stopped. She looked around and saw animals hiding. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you all..." Fluttershy said feeling terrible about barging in here and scaring them all. She looked around a bit longer and noticed that they were still not coming out. "Oh I'm not going to hurt you. Please don't fear me." Fluttershy said softly. After this some of them came out. She laid down on the grass. It was kinda wet. In fact everything around her was kinda misty. "Did it rain here? This is so odd." Fluttershy said confused. A butterfly came towards Fluttershy. She talked to it for a while. "Finally. I have a place to live." Fluttershy said Happily.
"But Big Mac!" Apple Bloom said desperately. "No buts Apple Bloom you've got to go with your friend. If you stay here..." Big Mac said cutting himself off. "What? What would happen if I stayed here huh?" Apple Bloom said. "Just go Apple Bloom. Find your friends. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle." Big Mac said not wanting to raise his voice. "Bu-" Apple Bloom was cut off. "GO!" Big Mac said trying his hardest to get her to leave willingly. "Fine!" Apple Bloom had left Big Mac there. Big Mac couldn't tell her why she had to leave.
As Big Mac wandered around looking for his sister Apple Jack. He came across a dead soldier pony. The armor was to small to fit Big Mac, but he took it with him. Figuring some pony would need it. He kept going and felt like he was being followed. Being watched. He turned around and saw two ponies. Both wore the armor of Nightmare Moon.
"What are you looking for? A fight?" Big Mac demanded. "We are here to kill any ponies that we see." The first said with the second continuing his sentence "You are a lucky pony. Because we've got a move we've been just *inhales evil like Dying to use." "Well you won't be killing anypony after I'm done with you." As he said the Big Mac charged at them. They moved out of the way. "They're to fast I'll have to sneak on them." Big Mac thought to himself.Problem was and even he knew was that he was that he was big and red. Worst combination when hiding. So he tried going after them. lowering their stamina. "Ha ha. You insolent little pony is all that muscle of yours up in your brain? You can't hit us ha ha h-" With that He was able to kick him directly in the snout. His face was smashed in and he was bleeding and twitching. The other pony charged at Big Mac in anger. "You confound ponies." Big Mac said and he turned around and kicked him snapping his neck and killing him instantly. The other pony who was kicked in the snout got up and ran. Big mac thought about finishing him off but the poor bastard was already limping and falling alot. He probably won't even get back before eternal bleeding finishes him off.
Big mac kept walking and saw a shade of a dark color. He kept walking towards it and saw something. Green and brown. He saw trees. He kept walking through it. He noticed there was no damages to it. "Is this untouched?" Big mac thought to himself. He noticed something yellow in the distance. Something yellow and light pink. He walked towards it and what he saw was;
Sorry this is extremely short but if I went on past the last part then a huge amount of set up things wouldn't work later on.
Rarity didn't have much to do anymore. Seeing how she doesn't know where any of her friends are. Although she got to do what she liked a lot and that's making clothing. She also had to make armor. That took longer but she got used to it and has made armor for almost every pony in the rebellion. She made six medium sized iron armor suits for her, and her friends. In case they ever found their way here. She also made three smaller sized ones for Sweetie Belle and her friends. She missed having company and they critique on the dresses she made.
"RARITY!" " What? Who could that be?" Rarity said to herself. Rarity went outside and there was a guard pony at the entrance. He was breathing heavily. "Rarity *Huff *Huff We found a young filly. *Huff she resembles you." The guard pony said "What? Take me to her this INSTANT!" Rarity demanded. "All right but she's seriously wounded we'll need to get her to a doctor soon." The guard pony said. Rarity and the guard pony rushed towards the filly. She noticed right off the bat that it was indeed her little sister. "This little filly collapsed at the gate ." Said one of the ponies. The little filly was dirty and was breathing heavily. Blood was on her. she has gone through alot these past 3 years. She looks older. with wear. stronger too. "Oh my Celestia...Sweetie Belle..." Rarity said she could only stand there and watch as the medic ponies took her away to work on her. Rarity looked down at the ground. "Why....Why didn't I stay with her...Why did this war have to happen." Rarity sobbed.
Rarity stayed with Sweetie Belle the rest of the night. Sweetie Belle woke up the next day. "Ugh...Where...am I?" Sweetie Belle said tiredly. "SWEETIE BELLE!" Rarity said delighted. "Rarity?" Sweetie Belle said. "Wait RARITY!" Sweetie Belle jumped towards Rarity. Rarity grabs her and hugs her tightly. "Oooh how I've missed you Sweetie Belle. Tell me everything that has happened these past 3 years!" Rarity commanded.
After Nightmare Moon blasted Trixie out of Ponyville, she wound up in a far away land. All alone. And terribly weakened from the fall.
"Urg... this is how a great and powerful wizard such as myself gets taken down? How pathetic..." Trixie says weakly. "I've gotta keep going though. If I don't, I'll bleed to death. *Moans *grunts." Trixie said. Every time she took a step another sharp pain had gone through her whole body. She sprained her back leg and hit her head. Her right eyesight is fuzzy and her head is bleeding fatally. She keeps going through the forest in hopes of some pony finding her and helping her. "Who am I kidding...No one will want to help some pony like me. I'm always so arrogant. Twilight showed this to me. The only reason why I do this is for the attention. And the fame! Look at me now. Close to death all alone in a forest." Trixie said now sobbing to herself. *Shuffle *Shuffle "Huh who's there?!" Trixie says now afraid of what it could be. What comes out is a dark entity. It's a pony that's completely black. The eyes completely black as well.
"W- wh- Who're you?" Trixie asks. The only thing it does is turn it's head and whisper some gibberish. Trixie is now terrified. She can't move. Frozen still by fear. "Answer me you shadow!" Trixie yelled now wishing she didn't say that. The pony rushes straight towards Trixie. Trixie gets thrown through two trees and stops at the last tree. "UUURGG WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!" Trixie says getting up weakly. Her horn is glowing and is now feeling power that she has never felt before.
"Do you know who I even am? I..." Trixie froze up. The entity has teleported in front of her. It kicks her high into the sky. Making for a truly unforgiving fall into an opened area. The entity walks towards Trixie. Trixie picks herself up with her magic and is charging a magic spell upon this dark entity. "You won't get away. You will go down here!" Trixie yelled. She now uses her charged spell and makes a big blast of energy go all around her. The entity tries to avoid it but the energy spreads to far and now the entity completely at the mercy of Trixie. After the blast is done. (Taking out many of the trees around her and leaving a scorched mark all around her.) She slowly walks over to the entity. It tries teleporting away but fails. Trixie grabs it with her magic stopping the teleporting. Trixie raises it to the sky and slams it into the ground. A harsh shriek comes out of it that is so loud Trixie's magic lets of it. Trixie is now covering her ears and closing her eyes. When she opens it the dark entity is now smoking a black aura around it and is in front of Trixie's face. It then kicks her into a tree. She looks up and sees the entity rushing towards her with incredible speed. I repeatedly kicks Trixie until Trixie finally had it. *BOOM "I AM THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE! YOU SHALL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME YOU PEASANT!"
Trixie let out a huge blast of magic directly at the entity. The dark entity shrieks and disappears. After a long pause Trixie says "What ever that was... it was strong. And now it's.....gone...'' Trixie collapses. What made her magic stronger than it was before? Did she even learn about those spells? What was that entity. Will she make it out alive?
Trixie wakes up later to the sound of what appears to be talking.
"Twilight you must hide at once!" Celestia demanded. "But princess what about you?" Twilight asked "These creatures aren't one to toy with. Now go hide somewhere and forget about me!" Celestia begged. "...As you wish.....princess..." Twilight said sadly. She knew she didn't want Twilight to be there. So there was no use fighting it.
"Creatures of the non-existent night you shall not take me!" Celestia yelled. Celestia let out a huge amount of power and magic that had taken out all of the shadowy creatures.
After they had all been destroyed by Celestia's magic, Nightmare Moon came in. "Aah it's been a long time now hasn't it my dear princesssssss." Nightmare Moon said. "It has been too short if you ask me." Celestia retorted. "Well, you probably know already I'm looking for a hosssssst...one of which I can ussssse to take over the planet and plunge it into darknessssss. One of which that can control the moon and ssssssun. Do you know of anypony that can do sssssso?" Nightmare Moon said. She was radiating power. a very strong power.
"I do know of one but I'm not telling." Celestia said. "Enough of thissssss sssssmall talk. I'm in need of a host and have been searching for these past three years." Nightmare Moon said. They both sent balls of pure energy. One full of light other full of hatred and darkness. Celestia's light power wasn't a match for Nightmare Moon's dark energy. One of the shots slightly missed Celestia and it hit the ground with great power. It slightly hit Celestia though in the back leg. She fell down. Nightmare Moon came to her and was ready to take control of Celestia. She started. Celestia's body was lifted up and was slowly being controlled. With Nightmare Moon's power slowly taking control.
"Get your dark powers away from Celestia." Nightmare Moon stopped. Dropping Celestia on the hard stone ground. and she turned around and saw Twilight Sparkles behind her.
"My, My, My, Sssssseemsssss to me ssssssomeone has challenged me." Nightmare Moon said mockingly. "I won't let you take Celestia I will stop you before you do!" Twilight said. "Well then why don't we begin." Nightmare Moon said. Twilight rushed at Nightmare Moon. Nightmare moon kicked Twilight then teleported and kicked her again. The process continued 5 more times until she just let Twilight's half conscious body fall to the ground.
"Heh how pathetic you are. Going after someone like me? And thinking you had a chance? An actual chance? How sad."
"So...sor...sorry...Celestia...I've failed you." Twilight said. Something happened though. A power she hadn't felt. But felt familiar. Like she'd forgotten about it.
Slowly Twilight got up and started floating up. Nightmare Moon felt this power....She also feared it. "What in Celestia's name is that power?" Nightmare Moon said. She turned around to see Twilight. Her power is radiating a strong magic. Twilight sees images from ancient times. One's of which she could read. Although she had never sen this kind of writing before. "Answer" "You" "Find" "Magic" "Are" "Escence" "Light" "Will" "The" "When" "You" "The" "Of" Words flew by Twilight. they seem to form a sentence if you put them together. What could it be though.
"Twilight! CONTROL YOURSELF!" Twilight soon came back to reality. and fell back down to the ground.
"That...Power...The girl still hasn't learned to control it?!" Nightmare Moon said shakily.
Celestia got up and shot an aura of light right at Nightmare Moon knocking her down. "Urrg you will regret doing that!" Nightmare Moon said. With this she quickly controlled Twilight. "No Nightmare Moon how dare you do something so childish!" Celestia said. Nightmare Sparkles lifted her hanging head towards Celestia. "Celestia?" Twilight said. Quickly Nightmare Moon took over. "Aah. Finally I feel the power. I think I shall call myself Nightmare Sparkles." Nightmare Sparkles said. "How dare you! release my apprentice at once!" Celestia demanded. Nightmare Sparkles teleported directly in front of Celestia and shot her with a magic aura. It was a strong dark energy. "HA HA HA I FEEL IT THIS POWER IS UNBELIEVABLE!" Nightmare Sparkles said very joyfully. "I think I won't even be needing you anymore Celestia. I can learn to change the sun and moon on my own." Nightmare Sparkles said. Nightmare Sparkles then moved towards Celestia. "I guess this is goodbye. Funny you're the one to taught this little pony everything she knows and now SHE'S going to be the one who kills you."
"I won't allow it!" Twilight said. "Huh!?" Nightmare Sparkles said. The great power from the light pushed the darkness but Nightmare Moon was to strong and didn't get removed. "You insolent little pony. I guess I will have to remove you from your own body. This power is not for one who can't control it." Nightmare Sparkles said. Nightmare Moon was strong enough to remove the essence of Twilight from the body. Now Twilight could only float and look. She couldn't even think. Her memories aren't with her. They're with Nightmare Sparkles now.
"Heh. Nightmare Moon. You don't understand anything do you." Celestia said mockingly. "Whatever do you mean?" Nightmare Sparkles asked. "You can't just "Learn" how to move a moon and sun. You're born with it. The power. The only reason why you were able to last time was because you were controlling Luna. She could control both the sun and moon. I could as well." "WHAAAT!?! So I've got to abandon this power you say huh. That's a tad annoying. Guess I will need you then." Nightmare Sparkles said. She then left Twilight Sparkles body and took control of Celestia's body.
Twilight essence watched as she sent the body through the big window. It crashed through and went through the forest. Twilight's essence went towards it, and took control. She was passed out and didn't wake up for several hours.
7 Hours Later
"Urg. Uh why does everything hurt....Where am I?" Twilight said. She examined her body. Blood. Glass stabbed inside of her body. Her hair was all fuzzy and a mess. She had leaves and sticks in her hair. She has a gash in her eyebrow.
She picks her tired body up. And walks. Slowly. She kept walking through the forest. "Is it night time? But Celestia is the only one who can do so. And me and her are hiding in the compl... Wait Celestia... I...I.... Celestia, was... taken by... Nightmare Moon." Twilight said. She could only think through the hazy thoughts. Not able to think straight. *Shuffle Shuffle "Why Hello Twilight."
"Huh Trixie? Twilight said questioning if it's Trixie. "You look like you've been in a fight." Trixie says. "Look Trixie I'm not wanting to fight." Twilight said. "I'm not looking to fight. I'm looking for a companion. I'm in need of healing as you can probably see. Same with you as well." Trixie said. Limping towards Twilight. "So we have a truce?" Twilight asked. "Truce." Trixie said and with that they both hoof bump the truce and continue along the forest looking for an exit.
Several days had passed since the two ponies had found food and wandered aimlessly around the forest. The Apples acted both as a water and food source. Water was very scarce now especially in Equestria. Nightmare Moon demanded
"Hey AppleBloom...do you feel some kinda feeling?" Scootaloo asked her companion AppleBloom. "Like the feeling of being watched?" Apple Bloom asked. "Being watched and followed?" Scootaloo answered with another question. They both turned around and they didn't see anything so they continued. After another ten minutes they were out of the forest. They felt a presence. "Ok THAT'S IT!" Scootaloo yelled in worried anger. "Come on out who ever you are!" Scootaloo demanded angrily. A completely black filly came out. They couldn't see any features because it was dark in the forest. So they could really see who it was or even what it was.
"Who are you?" Scootaloo asked. She inspected the black figure closely. "Sweetie Belle?" AppleBloom asked. Scootaloo looked angrily at AppleBloom but she looked at it closer. It had a horn. "Is that you Sweetie Belle?" Scootaloo asked hoping it was. It stood there for a while. And then began walking towards the two Crusaders. It was completely black meaning there weren't any features. The Crusaders both prepared for anything. The figure then spread it's wings and flew up into the sky.
"That's not Sweetie Belle!" AppleBloom yelled. The creature flew down to strike Scootaloo. Scootaloo dodged. "Urg." Scootaloo grunted as she fell and slid on the ground after dodging the creature. The creature quickly teleported in the sky and began flying straight down back at Scootaloo. Scootaloo dodged again. The black figure repeated it's action again. Scootaloo fell down with the Figure nearing Scootaloo, AppleBloom ran over and kicked The figure as hard as she could making it fly back into the sky. "Thanks AppleBloom." Scootaloo said.
"No problem." AppleBloom said. The figure was now behind AppleBloom and kicked her. Scootaloo tried getting back up to attack but was quickly taken down by the figure. The figure then used her magic to throw Scootaloo over to AppleBloom. Making for an unforgiving fall to the hard bear-en earth. Both AppleBloom and Scootaloo got up. The figure flew and teleported to them. AppleBloom tried kicking it but it was too fast that she missed. "It's too fast for us!" AppleBloom said. With a fear in her throat. Scootaloo thought through an idea. She got up and started walking in one direction. The figure started flying towards Scootaloo. "APPLE BLOOM GET IT NOW!" Scootaloo said not even going through the idea with her companion. The figure turned to go after AppleBloom. Scootaloo then kick the figure as hard has she could. Knocking it to the ground. The figure gave out a strong power and a screech of pain. It teleported directly in front of Scootaloo and kicked her back into the forest. Breaking several trees.
"SCOOTALOO!" AppleBloom yelled in fear. The figure teleported directly in front of AppleBloom. All of a sudden the figure flew off to the left of AppleBloom and went six to eight feet away from her. Scootaloo had flown into the black entity with all her strength and had left some amount of damage. Scootaloo had shown power that not even she herself had ever felt. "Wow Scootaloo you're flyen!" AppleBloom said in amazement. Scootaloo didn't even notice. She hadn't really been able to fly especially after the attack when she was younger. Scootaloo flew towards the creature who had wobbled herself up, and then slammed into it. Throwing it two times as far as the last attack.
The figure began teleporting. It went behind Scootaloo and slammed her into the ground. AppleBloom seeing this rushed to save her and grabbed the head of the figure slamming it into the ground. Blood. The blood wasn't red it was... smoky black. not even a reflection from the sun was on it. "Scootaloo you alright?" AppleBloom asked. "I'm fine. Thanks for saving me there." Scootaloo said. "Thanks for saving me earlier also." AppleBloom said. The figure tried getting up but couldn't. Soon it starting dissolving into thin air. And soon was gone.
"Thank Celestia it's gone!" Scootaloo said. "Yeah." AppleBloom answered. They both exchanged looks and smiled. They noticed something though. Scootaloo and AppleBloom both looked up and looked at the sun. The sun wasn't directly above them like it had been for the past four years. The sun was setting for the first time in four years.
Chapter 10 Rainbow Dash & Apple Jack. The Feeling I've Had For You.
"Sorry I haven't been updating on this story. I've sorta been... Uh... (Insert excuse here) :)"
After both Rainbow Dash & Apple Jack snuggled in the cave and talked. Apple Jack realized how long she had held back...This feeling. She'd been friends with Rainbow Dash for a long time, and it had been neutral for a while. She'd always thought of Rainbow Dash as a friend. But she'd always thought more of her. She felt more attached to her. She'd kept her feelings to herself. Not wanting to ruin the friendship they'd had for a long time. Rainbow dash felt the same. She was loyal and represented the element of Loyalty after all. But she felt more attached to her Apple bucking friend. She'd always wanted to be around her.
"Hey Rainbow Dash. You ever think about Twilight and others? You know if they're alright?" Apple Jack asked. "Yeah...I have." Rainbow Dash said tiredly. She'd thought about them. But she mostly thought about Apple Jack. She kinda felt bad about not thinking of her friends as much as she should. "Apple Jack. Are you feeling any better?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Rainbow, I'm fine." Apple Jack lied. Her injuries had gotten better. But not enough to walk. She couldn't let her companion know how she was actually feeling. Rainbow dash looked outside of the cave. She was saddened. She knew she had lied. And she knew the reason. "Rainbow Dash. I'm going to sleep." Apple Jack said. She'd always sleep. The pain she felt was pretty big. She also didn't want Rainbow Dash to see her in pain.
"Alright, Apple Jack." Rainbow Dash told her. Rainbow Dash wasn't tired. She went to get some food. There was a lot of Apple trees in a nearby area. Nightmare Moon hadn't touched everywhere. At least not yet. Nightmare Moon wouldn't stop her rampage upon this world until it was nothing but a wasteland. She wanted ponies to worship her as their new leader, so she left a huge land untouched so ponies had a place that wasn't barren or boiling hot.
Rainbow Dash left and went to get some food. She got some Apples and left. She went back to the cave and saw Apple Jack. She was being attacked by some figure. It was black and shadowy.
"Hey you! Back off!" Rainbow Dash yelled at the monster. It turned around. Rainbow Dash then flew into it and slammed it into the hard cold wall of the cave. It then got up. It charged at Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash dodged and then slammed her whole body right into the black figure. Again slamming it into the cold hard cave wall.
Rainbow Dash looked at Apple Jack. She's in pain. "You bastard....I'll make you pay!" Rainbow Dash yelled. She then charged at the black figure again. Once again slamming it against the cavern wall. But it wouldn't just stay down. It kept getting up as if it wasn't even feeling the sharp edges slam into it's body. It shot like a bullet right into Rainbow Dash. She skidded against the floor in front of Apple Jack. She got back up and was hell bent on defending her friend.
The figure took Rainbow Dash down. Her leg still hurting from the raid in PonyVille. The figure began kicking Rainbow Dash. But then it stopped. Rainbow Dash in pain looked up to see a figure in a cloak. She noticed a small amount of pink in it.
"Leave them be..." Rainbow Dash heard the cloaked pony say. Rainbow Dash couldn't move. The cloaked figure and the Black figure left the cave. Rainbow Dash was confused. If the cloaked pony worked for Nightmare Moon then why did she call off the attack? She knew that it did work for Nightmare Moon. The ponies that wore the cloaks were one of the main thirteen that worked for Nightmare Moon. Having some talent that Nightmare moon thought was perfect for the "Elite Pony Force."
"Urg." Rainbow Dash groaned. She was in pain. That black figure was immensely powerful. Rainbow Dash noticed some blood on the ground. It wasn't Rainbow's blood. It must be Apple Jack's blood. Soon Rainbow Dash, passed out.
I'm keeping this one short for a reason. I can't explain why though. :)
Fluttershy and Big Mac had met. In the several weeks Big Mac had made them both huts. Fluttershy had collected food and made friends with the animals.
For some reason. Fluttershy...felt something for Big Mac. She however couldn't understand why.
"Hey Big Mac..." Fluttershy said wanting to ask something. "Eeyup?" Big Mac Asked. Using the same way he talked four years ago. "...Nevermind." Fluttershy said. She wanted to ask him but she couldn't. Big Mac left the hut. "Oh Fluttershy you've got to ask him. You've got to toughen up!" Fluttershy said trying to gain some confidence. No matter how many times she tried though she couldn't let him know of her feelings.
Sweetie Belle had been through a lot. Maybe even more than the rest of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Her wounds and injuries were severe and possibly fatal. However. Through these years she's grown stronger. Rarity and Sweetie Belle stayed together until Sweetie Belle was fully healed.
"WHAAAAAT!?!?" Rarity yelled. "I have to go looking for Scootaloo and Applebloom. Without me they're doomed." Sweetie Belle said. "Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, noooo my darling. You mustn't not after that. You're too youn-" Rarity was cut off by her sister. "Rarity I've ground up! The only reason why I was like that was because a mysterious shadow unicorn pony had taken me out!" Sweetie Belle yelled. "But my dear-" Rarity said. Right after she finished a familiar voice spoke. "Don't worry Rarity I'll take care of her." "Huh, Spike?" Rarity said confused wanting to know if it was him.
"Yeah it's me. I'll keep an eye on your sister for ya." Spike said. Leaving a silence. Spike hadn't seen either Sweetie Belle or Rarity in four years. "Spike!" Rarity yelled happily. She ran over to him and hugged him. Spike has changed a lot but he still had feelings for her. "Hey Rarity. How've you been?" Spike said, hugging her back lightly. "Oooh how you've grown." Rarity said admirably. "I've been fine. Did you say you'd watch my sister?" Rarity asked. "Yeah." Spike answered. "I've been looking for this place. I heard about it from some pony folk in hiding." Spike said. Rarity then remembered what Spike said. "So you agree that she should go? No! I can't allow-" Rarity was cut off. "Rarity...She's grown. She's matured and she's stronger. I can tell she'll be fine. Plus with me around we've got a better chance of finding Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. We'll be fine." Spike said giving a shy smile to let Rarity know Sweetie Belle will be fine. "Alright but you must let me make you some armor before you go back out." Rarity insisted. "Wait you mean you're not coming along?" Spike asked confused. "I would believe me, but I can't. I'm the one who makes the clothes and armor. I'm also the only capable pony for sewing." Rarity said saddened that she won't see her sister or Spike for a long time.
After a while she finished the suits of armor for Spike, Sweetie Belle, and for the other two Crusaders. "Well I hope this is enough. Are you sure you need to go?" Rarity asked. "Yes. I'm sure if I don't go then how will the Cutie Mark Crusaders be a whole?" Sweetie Belle said jokingly. Rarity chuckled. "All right Sweetie Belle." Rarity said. "Oh and Spike can you come here for a second?" Rarity asked.
Spike did as asked and followed. "Please take care of my sister. And if you see any of my friends tell them to go to here." Rarity said, giving him a few maps. "I promise I will." Spike promised. "Thank you." Rarity said. Spike started to walk but Rarity stopped him. "Oh and take this-" Rarity then kissed Spike on the cheek. He blushed then started going. "Cmon Sweetie Belle let's get a move on!" Spike yelled. "Alright!" Sweetie Belle said, running along with Spike.
After a few more days they found a forestry area. "Hey looked untouched land!" Spike yelled happily. Sweetie Belle got a small grin and started going through. "Hey Sweetie Belle. Do you wonder how everypony is?" Spike asked. Trying to make a conversation. "Sometimes. Hey look!" Sweetie Belle yelled. Observing a few apples on the ground. "I wonder..." Sweetie Belle said. "I wonder if AppleBloom and Scootaloo went through here..." Sweetie Belle said.
"It's a possibility." Spike said. "Wait..." Sweetie Belle said. "What is it?" Spike asked. He looked at Sweetie Belle and noticed she was looking up. Spike looked up too. He didn't know what she was looking at. "The sun..." Sweetie Belle said. Spike's eyes widened. The sun was going down. It hadn't gone down in years.
