Twilight Sparkle glared in pure fear and anticipation at the realization that her only hope to save Equestria from plunging into the eternal darkness that was Nightmare Moon’s ambition was destroyed from the powerful hooves of the evil mare. Mouth reaching the floor, the hopeless mare looked up to the dark entity in agitation, picking up her jaw to stall for more time, her only possible hope to get out of the forbidden castle herself, she had no idea where her friends were at the moment, she could only hope they were safe.

The frightened unicorn’s thoughts were torn away as a loud, dark laughter cut through her being, sending shivers down her spine. “You little fool! Thinking you could defeat me, now you will never see your princess, or your sun.” The dark mare stopped for a moment, staring the small unicorn down, making Twilight put her head down in shame of her recent failure to Princess Celestia. “The night will last forever!” Nightmare said, laughing more at her success in defeating the ‘little fool.’

‘Think Twilight! Desperate times here call for desperate measures, I could use destruction magic to possibly stun her, or stall her into giving me more time to come up with a new plan. Wait! But Princess Celestia told me to never ever use destruction magic! But! The fate of Equestria is in my hooves, and some rules were made to be broken! …. Right?’ The mare, realizing her only option to possibly get out of such a horrid situation, called upon her magic for something she didn’t think she would ever possibly need to use, a magic bolt. Twilight spun the magic and shaped it into a bolt of pure magic, simply over-packed with magic just like you would a snowball. Easy. With one last thought and once last glance at the alicorn ahead of her, Twilight flung the bolt of magic at her target.

Time nearly slowed down for Twilight, the bolt, feeling like it would never make it to Nightmare Moon, the burning feeling of anticipation and impatience growing in her chest. The bolt hit her target dead on, or rather, whatever was in front of her target. It took a few seconds to sink in, but the lavender unicorn noticed, Nightmare had put up a complex magical barrier to protect her from projectiles coming towards her.

“Bow before your queen you weak disgrace for a unicorn! Bow before me or feel my true powers!” Nightmare Moon said, full of confidence that the mare before her could do her no damage. The foolish unicorn only smirked at her words and rosen confidence. ‘Who is this fool? I will murder her!’ Nightmare Moon prepared two of her magic bolts, and launched them at the stupid mare.

Twilight attempted to dodge the two missiles of magic, only to get her left and right side of her body scorched by the unknown magic that the powerful alicorn possessed. The only problem for Twilight was the fact that there was a shield spell blocking all her attacks, and it definitely had to go. Calling upon her magic once more, she quickly undid the ‘complex’ spell that the alicorn had used to barricade herself with a field of magic. ‘Did she even notice? Oh well. Lets just be careful Twilight.’ Twilight shot 2 flaming bolts of magic towards Nightmare, 1 hitting the mare in the chest and another hitting the wing opened by her side, with a sickening crunch announcing that it had been broken.

Nightmare Moon yelled out in pain, and quickly lost her focus on the mare that just disabled her. ‘How can a unicorn be so powerful? This... this can’t be happening! fight back!’ Nightmare’s instincts rolled in, shooting a parade of magical bolts at the unicorn, pushing herself to the limit. The brightness from the assault of magical bolts from her own horn caused the dark alicorn to close her eyes.

10 seconds later

Nightmare opened her eyes again, panting from her lost energy and forward effort to stop the over powered unicorn. Her draconic eyes looked across the room, only to realize that the mare in question was nowhere to be seen. “No!” Nightmare yelled in frustration, realizing her target must of gotten away somehow, probably teleportation.

The soft recognizable sound of hooves hitting stone caused the alicorn to look behind her in curiosity and a new found spark of fear of the mysterious unicorn. Horn glowing, and eyes brighter than the sun itself to look at, was the magically disappearing unicorn, obviously under the influence of magical power the unicorn could not fully control. ‘Her raw power must outmatch Celestia herself!’ Nightmare fell to the ground, something had paralyzed her, a magic which must of drained her fatigue until there was none left.

Nightmare failed to stand up, getting hit with magic bolt after magic bolt, each dealing the same amount of dissatisfying and power draining pain. “No... no..” The barrage of magical bullets had stopped, and the alicorn had nearly no power at all, it would take a little while to regenerate her powers. She wondered if she could perform any spells at all right now, let alone basic levitation.

Twilight stood in front of the dark mare, towering over her. Nightmare was completely on the ground, she had fallen. Twilight herself was almost panting also, although she wouldn’t admit it to Nightmare Moon, she was completely drained of her power. ‘Just.. try.. to.. look intimidating’ The unicorn thought in between soft breaths. “Nightmare Moon... give up and release Princess Celestia!”

The alicorn was slightly amused by the unicorns enthusiasm, the mare had also wanted her sister to be released, what was she to her? Nightmare Moon’s subliminal mind sent a message to her conscious, bringing her back to the earlier thoughts of any spells she could possibly cast, and she did, have one. It was a spell that summons a magical bracelet to put around a unicorn's horn, to prevent any type of spells being casted from the said unicorn. Without even the simplest of thought, the dark mare summoned one and aimed it towards the mysterious unicorn without any type of hesitation and the speed of an eagle.

Nightmare Moon watched as the unicorn looked up at the strange device on her horn, as if studying it. She watched, amused by how wide the unicorns eyes went when she was struck with realization of what had happened to her horn.

“It won’t work!” Twilight Sparkle yelled, attempting to cast a spell, only to fall down and cry out in pain as electricity went through her body and caused her to fall to the ground, being more or equal to as weak as the alicorn in front of her.

Nightmare Moon stood up on shaky hooves, balancing herself correctly then walking over to the mare, an annoyed expression plastered on her face. “I can not bring myself to lie... you are rather, powerful, I am impressed by the amount of magic your body holds, you truly are unique aren’t you?” Nightmare said circling the fallen mare with a smile of success on her muzzle. “Tell me, who are you, and do not think to lie or I will personally end your worthless life.”

Twilight raised her head to look into the dark alicorn’s eyes in front of her, truly dark and menacing. “I-I’m.. Twilight Sp-Sparkle.” The mare confessed, stuttering as her words tripped on fear.

“Not just your name you dimwit, I want details!”

The unicorn knew not to piss her off any more, scared for her own head. “I-I study magic at Canterlot, I-I’m Princess Celestia’s personal protégé” She said truthfully.

Nightmare Moon’s raised an eyebrow, and frowned even more. “Oh how obvious it is...” Nightmare mocked.

“How obvious what is?”

“You don’t see it? All the signs? You almost brought me down! It would only make sense for that tyrant to notice your power and try to limit you so that you can never know how powerful you really are.” Nightmare stepped back a little. “Now let me guess, she never had even taught you destruction magic yet has she?” The alicorn looked over the unicorn’s face and saw her answer. “I knew it.. you see Twilight Sparkle, I could teach you so many new powers.” Nightmare Moon said laying down in front of Twilight. “All that precious power of yours wasted...” The alicorn raised a hoof, rubbing it against the lavender mares cheek, getting a visible shudder for response.

Twilight thought back...

Flashback

The small filly snuggled against her mentor, savoring the warmth that she felt, and closed her eyes in relaxation. A voice from next to her startled her.

“What new have you learned my faithful student?” Princess Celestia questioned.

“Oh Oh! I found this book in the archives called ‘Destruction Magic: For Beginners’ and learned a spell named magic bolt!” The excited filly chirped. After a few seconds, and no response, she looked back at her mentor, only to see she wasn’t smiling back.

“Twilight!” The sternness and anger in Celestia’s voice was clear, this was the first time she had ever heard her so mad. “I told you to not go in the archives! That section is forbidden! And if I ever see you there again, I’ll suspend you from your studies! Is that clear?” Celestia said, using unnecessary amounts of volume and losing her princess nature..

The filly felt tears come to her eyes, she didn’t know, she was only trying to impress the princess. Twilight sobbed, crying out loud, seeking her mentor for comfort, only to see her piercing glare staring at her, leaving her room.

Flashback

“No.. you're just trying to trick me! I .. I” Twilight started, only to be cut off again.

“You know it's true, do not be a fool... you started to learn the one thing that could destroy her, although you had every right to learn it, she took it away from you.” The alicorn said, with more sternness, and a hint of annoyance showing she wasn’t going to keep being so patient with her. “Once I take my rightful place on the throne, I could have you rule beside me, I could teach you more spells than Celestia could have ever taught you, under a circumstance that is... only if you decide to become my.... slave.” The threatening close lunar alicorn said, passing her boundaries and getting closer to the progressingly corrupted mare.

“No!” Twilight leaped up and galloped as fast as her hooves could take her towards the small passageway towards the end of the castle. The entrance was so close.. only steps away and... stop?

A blue aura surrounded her hooves, levitating her, and putting more and more pressure on her hooves until snap.

Twilight cried in pain, her two front hooves broke, tears rolling down her cheeks as the pain didn’t subside, but got worse. The burning pain felt like it was throughout her entire body, not just in her hooves, she could do nothing but scream out in pain as her broken hooves dropped the aura and also dropped her, making her fall towards the ground and land on her two broken hooves.

“Stop! Please make it stop!” The pained mare cried out in agony hoping for anything to save the day, but all the hope was lost as she felt herself being levitated again, and fearing the worse, screamed out again. “No! Please please! Not again! I’m-”

The mare was cut short, as she disappeared into the mane of Nightmare Moon. Taking a quick glance up at her mane, she eyed it. “I’ll deal with you later..”

“Finally, time to get, what is rightfully mine!” A horribly laughter echoed throughout the old sisters castle, until eventually, it stopped when the alicorn in question, teleported herself.

_____________________________________________________________________________

The doors of the beautiful Canterlot castle that Celestia once ruled where now finally in front of the true queen. All of her desires and needs lay behind those doors, all the servants and all the guards to protect her. Stepping inside, the dark alicorn studied the hallways, they were quite nice, black and white checkered hallways and if you happen to look up, your eyes would be blessed by the sight of the beautiful pure gold. Walking down the rest of the hallways, the dark alicorn’s eyes noticed the doors, a bluish tinted entrance traced with a nice trimming of onyx black.

There was something off about one door that stood out in particular, instead of being blue, it was a mahogany color with a well fitting gold trimming. The dark alicorn studied it, and soon realized she was utterly clueless of where she was and how to get around this insane maze of a castle. ‘Twilight Sparkle did tell of how she lived here, perhaps she can provide some information?’ Nightmare Moon, feeling her mane, felt it, the new sensation in her mane that was not usually there, the entity of Twilight Sparkle. Nightmare, using her magic pushed the unicorn out of her starry mane.

The unicorn was no longer crying out in pain, but still had tears rolling down her face and a expression that showed the affliction was not totally dispersed. Her hooves were still unmistakably broken, you could easily tell just by looking at them, they were bent the wrong way and had a big circle of a bruise around where the joints connected. Her eyes were clenched and her nose scrunched up, pathetic.

Nightmare, before letting the mare do anything stupid, quickly cast a healing spell on both of Twilight’s hooves healing them and fixing all the shattered and disconnected parts of the bone, the alicorn now realized why it hurt so much for the mare, she did not simply break the hooves, but the pressure literally crushed her bones. ‘I... I didn’t mean to do that, it’s not like I wouldn’t do that, but this is only a innocent mare that just happened to been chosen to be powerful enough for my liking and sent out by the tyrant to stop me. Why am I feeling penitent?’ Nightmare saw movement in the corner of her eye, quickly turning back to Twilight.

“Your hooves... I did not intend to crush them, Twilight.” Nightmare said, not looking the unicorn in the eyes, but rather the mare's hooves which she crushed the bone of.

Twilight stood up, testing out her new and repaired hooves, then smiling, ‘She’s not that bad of a pony if she will do that for me, although she’s the worst I’ve ever seen. Perhaps I’ll ask her about Celestia later.’

“I need directions, Twilight. I take it you know your way around here after this being your home for so long.” Nightmare said expectantly, looking down at the unicorn only met by the unicorn’s confused and beautiful eyes. ‘Beautiful?’ “I need a home here, where may I find one?” Nightmare asked the same question as the last one she had asked, but differently.

“My chambers are near the top of the castle, but you wouldn’t want to stay there, trust me, way too small for you.” Twilight said, trying to trick the dark alicorn into doing anything except share the same room as her, fearing what she might do to her.

“I take it that there’s no regular rooms here for a pony as big as me?” Nightmare Moon pressured the mare further, honestly, what she really wanted was to find where Celestia’s chambers were, and she knew the unicorn was beating around the bush and hoping she didn’t notice that she was avoiding the subject of Celestia’s chambers.

“N..Nope I guess that means we can’t stay here, at Canterlot!” Twilight blurted out quickly, almost yelling and talking as fast as she could while also talking strongly.

“Twilight, you cannot fool me. Show me where Celestia’s chambers are, this is an order.” Nightmare through her most piercing glare over at the unicorn, making the unicorn turn her head away fast to avoid the stare that would burn holes through her.

“B-but I” She was cut off short. “Are you questioning my orders, slave?” Nightmare said with more authority.

“No, Nightmare Moon. I’ll show you to Celestia’s chambers, follow me.” The frightened unicorn said, and the only response she got was a very hard, slap to the face, knocking her down on the checkered stone. Twilight looked up at Nightmare with tears in her eyes, “Why?” The mare pleaded.

“You will call me by Queen Moon, or Mistress is that clear?” The unicorn, in turn, got back up and walked back to the side of her queen.

“Yes, Queen. I’ll show you where Celestia’s chambers are at now.” The unicorn was not scared that Celestia might be there, because her queen stated that she would ‘never see her princess again’ which rose more questions to Twilight's head. ‘What has she done to Celestia?’ Twilight walked down the hallway, Nightmare Moon following closely behind her and watching directly ahead until she reached another set of mahogany doors traced with gold, just like the last door.

‘Its just like that tyrant to have two rooms.’ Opening the door, Nightmare walked in and examined her surroundings, there was a large red rug in the middle of Celestia’s room, a bed big enough to hold three princesses in the middle of the room and put against the wall. A medium sized fireplace was put near the left side corner of the room, ablaze and dancing, somewhat illuminating the room. And lastly, a window near the end of the room, with red curtains putting somewhat of a red tint along the room. Other items not included that were around the room was stuff like dressers, filled with a variety of odd things, mostly letters though.

‘It's now or never, I will not get stuck in here with her!’ Twilight looked around looking for any possible exit around Princess Celestia’s chambers, finding the only one was a door and a window, if you want to die that is. ‘I can just try to outsmart her, yeah that always works, hopefully she's not as smart as she sounds.’ Twilight decided. “Okay Queen Moon, I hope you like the chambers, but as you need your chambers, so do I... so haha... yeah... “ Twilight said slowly backing away from her Queen towards the exit that wouldn’t kill her.

“You are not going anywhere, Twilight. I’m keeping an eye on you, not to mention, I am supposed to be training you if I ever want you to rule by my side.” The alicorn sighed, levitating the unicorn over to the fireplace with her and laying her down by her side. “I don’t have normal conversations very much.” The queen stared into the fireplace, watching the fire dancing with her draconic eyes, slowly letting it hypnotize her.

“Why?” Twilight asked her, also staring into the flames.

“Why? What do you mean, why?” Nightmare asked, starting to get angry.

“I mean, why do you do the things you do, why do you harm other ponies? What did you do with Celestia?” The mare asked being uncertain for the consequence she may receive for mentioning Celestia, but taking the risk nevertheless. Before the unicorn could even think twice, she was quickly barricaded in by a blue aura of magic.

The levitation spell quickly flung itself towards a nearby wall, with its host flying into the wall with it. Twilight fell down off the wall she was flung into, plunging into the ground.

“What I did with Celestia is none of your business, do not ask about this subject again!” Nightmare said in a dark and threatening accent.

“I..I’m s..sorry! I won’t ask again!” Twilight cursed her curiosity of the situation, although threatened, the mare's mind was still bringing up more and more questions. ‘If she doesn't want me to see her... does it mean she's dead? Or harmed? Powerless?’

“Look how weak and powerless you are.. it almost makes me cringe just by assuming your innocence. Just imagine Twilight, what you could do with the proper training.” Nightmare said, circling the fallen mare just like when she was defeated in the abandoned castle, and laying down next to her; once more rubbing her hoof against the lavender unicorn’s cheek, but this time the unicorn didn’t shudder, although her face did turn a few shades red from the contact. “Lets get some proper training done, shall we?” Nightmare moon stood up, waiting for the unicorn to also do so.

Twilight stood up, waiting for her instructions on what to do next. “Give me 100 push-ups.” Nightmare Moon said. (Lawl you totally expected sex, not yet.)

The mare looked frightened now. ‘100! I don’t even think I can do 30!’ Obeying her queen, the mare slowly started to push herself up and down with her not so broken hooves on the floor.

‘24.. 25.. 26.. 27.. 28.... 29.... 30...... 31....... 32’ The unicorn sweated profusely, being the first time she had really ever done such an exercise. Twilight dropped to the floor, and looked back up at her queen, and instead of seeing a disappointed face, she saw a face which she could not read.

“You did... adequate. Although, this is definitely not the only exercise I’m having you do, last and least you're going to do 50 sit-ups.” Nightmare Moon stated.

Twilight, once again, obeyed her mistress and laid down on her back and put her hooves behind her head, she definitely didn’t like being so exposed in front of her mistress.

‘42.. 43.. 44.. 45.. 46.. 47.. 48, 49, 50’ Twilight mentally counted all of her situps, and surprisingly, didn’t even break a sweat during her 2nd exercise. Looking back up at her new mentor, she could see a slight smirk on her muzzle.

“Well done.” Nightmare, once again showed no emotion, and went straight to the point.

Twilight, covered in sweat and breathing deeply, now realized how tired she actually was from the day's activities. “U..um may I please rest, Queen?” Twilight asked.

“Yes, you have done well for today, you may rest, I’m studying this place inside out then giving my announcement.” Nightmare Moon left the room, leaving Twilight to go up to the bed and lay her head down on one of the covers.

‘Nightmare isn’t too bad of a pony, I’m sure she didn’t actually kill Celestia, but, during her rule, eternal night, crops, solar energy, what were they going to do about that? Also how much abuse I have to go through, and only on the first day.’ The unicorn, with one last confused thought, drifted off to sleep.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Twilight woke up to a loud voice booming across the halls and every room of the Canterlot castle, and she could still hear it as if someone was shouting directly in her ears. Curiosity getting the best of her again, she stepped out onto the balcony to see what all the fuss was about.

“I am the true ruler of Equestria! I have defeated your precious princess and will bring forth eternal night, any that refuse my order, will not be slaughtered, but rather, their families will be hung at the gallows for all to see.” Nightmare Moon shouted toward a crowd of far over 1000 ponies.

That was all the already depressed mare needed to hear before running off back into her room and onto the plush comforters of the queen's bed, softly laying her head on the pillow, Twilight softly cried. “What have I gotten myself into?” The mare cried out loud. “I’m so sorry I failed you Princess, I’m a bad student, and I always was.”

Nightmare Moon heard everything, she had been there, almost as soon as Twilight left, the announcement had ended. Nightmare Moon slowly walked onto the bed, probably for dramatic effect, and laid down next to Twilight, becoming some sort of habit. “You will not serve Celestia, or anyone else for that matter, I will corrupt you, and you will, only serve me.” Nightmare Moon knew exactly what would corrupt the poor mare, and that was, not what, but rather who was in her dungeons. Laying her head down on the soft comforters, Nightmare Moon drifted off to sleep after about a minute of silence and the nothing but the sound of the soft breathing of the beautiful mare next to her.

Twilight could not go to sleep, her queen had drifted off to sleep nearly an hour ago, yet the unicorn had just kept tossing and turning about, never successfully catching the sleep that was always at her grasp, and at the last moment she always would always lose her grip on it.

She knew why, it was overly cold due to the natural sun rays no longer warming up Equestria in preparation for the night, which was already cold enough, and not to mention, there were no blankets to shield her from the cold. Twilight glanced over at Nightmare, and slowly, and secretly slid into the alicorn’s warm and comfortable side without a thought, and she, for once, actually felt safe. Drifting to sleep, Twilight had the most wonderful of dreams.

-=-=-=-=-=-=- (Canterlot Dungeons.)

Celestia struggled against the chains that Nightmare Moon’s guards had put around her, her physical strength proving no match for them. She knew Nightmare was coming for her, she feared for her faithful student, what had she done to the poor mare?

Celestia’s train of thought was cut short when the sound of clanking locks and the ear piercing sound of the prison door opening caught her attention. Opening the door was Nightmare Moon herself, her faithful student following closely behind.

Breaths.. quiet little breaths was all the dark alicorn heard the past fews minutes she had been awake, occasionally there would be the odd sound of a feminine, almost cute whistling like sound or a change of pattern in the being next to her, causing a strange, but comfortable warmth in the alicorn’s mid section. Suspicious, the dark queen arose from her calm slumber to take a view of the surroundings around her, quickly spotting the little lavender unicorn curled up against her side in a ball, causing the un-natural warmth she had been feeling for the past few minutes of peaceful silence.

Twilight had curled into my side while I rested, more evidence of how much Celestia has ruined her, she has accomplished in making her futile to my night’s attributes clearly.’ Nightmare needed a way for revenge, her pent up anger finally starting to get to her and making her want to punish anyone in her sight. “Celestia, you truly know how to mock me don’t you?” The Night God said in her normal monotone voice, not caring if she woke her newly found student or not.

After nearly 2 minutes of contemplating on whether she should go back to bed or not, the tired alicorn pushed away from the sleeping mare buried in her side, quietly sliding out of her now warm and cozy bed. Nightmare slowly made her way to the mahogany drawers adjacent to the dark mattress and opened the top cabinet, levitating her royal jewelry into the air.

Twilight’s eyes slowly opened as she awoke from her peaceful slumber, quickly noticing the menacing looking alicorn equipping her accessories before her. Yawning sheepishly, she saw that Nightmare Moon was glaring back at her with eyes that held a burning rage of anger. “Q-queen..?” The purple unicorn spoke timidly, her voice shaking. She could sense something was very different about the night princess from the day before, as if some evil from inside was quickly taking over.

Nightmare spoke, “I shall see it through that this is the last night my sister lives on this planet. I have no use for such a vermin any longer.” Her horn glowed brightly, swinging open the large chamber doors as she began her walk to Celestia’s doom. “You are more than welcome to spectate!” She spoke sadistically, beginning to laugh in her dark, loud voice as disappeared into the Canterlot interiors.

‘I can’t believe this..’ A million thoughts ran through Twilight’s head at once, with her old teacher in mind, she hastily followed the path that Nightmare had just taken until she could faintly make out her body shape, “Mistress, please wait!” She yelled, the sound echoing deeply through the walls of the castle.

The Night Alicorn smirked to herself as she continued trotting, “So you have decided to spectate? This will be quite enjoyable...” She turned the corner and started heading towards a set of stairs leading to the Canterlot Dungeons.

*Panting* “Mistress!” Twilight stopped just as she made it to her new teacher, dropping to the floor in exhaustion, “Please, what are you going to do with Princess Celestia?” She looked up at the alicorn towering over her, with hope and dread in her eyes.

Princess Celestia?” The alicorn laughed, “You should know very well by now that she no longer holds the title of Princess in this country. How dare you disrespect me on such a high regard?!” Nightmare Moon grabbed Twilight with her magical aura, leveling her with herself, “If I ever hear the word “Princess” come from your tongue again, I will sever it off.” She said to the lavender mare who began quivering in fear.

Twilight looked away from Nightmare’s devilish glare, terrified to say anything that might anger her even more but at the same time needing to know Celestia’s fate, “I-I-I..” She tried to speak but began to break down in tears, unable to talk.

Nightmare Moon dropped Twilight to the ground with her aura, staring at her in disgust, “How ridiculously pathetic. All you have done is whine ever since I’ve taken you in as my right-hoof ruler.” She spoke with spite towards the crying unicorn, “I am starting to believe I chose the wrong pony to rule beside me.”

The small mare continued to weep on the ground, her entire body continuing to quiver from fear and shock from the reality of the situation at hand, ‘J-just please have mercy on Celestia..’ She thought to herself as she tried desperately to stop crying.

“I will make this the worst month of your life you have ever had. You will wish you were never born. I will break you.” Nightmare once again grabbed Twilight with her dark aura, dragging her down into the dark corridors of the Canterlot Dungeon.

-=-=-=-=-=-=- (Canterlot Dungeons, Celestia)

(Previously)

Celestia struggled against the chains that Nightmare Moon’s guards had put around her, her physical strength proving no match for them. She knew Nightmare was coming for her, she feared for her faithful student, what had she done to the poor mare?

Celestia’s train of thought was cut short when the sound of clanking locks and the ear piercing sound of the prison door opening caught her attention. Opening the door was Nightmare Moon herself, her student following closely behind.
(Now)

“Nightmare Moon!” The solar princess yelled angrily at the other alicorn that just entered her prison cell, “What are you doing with Twilight? Please, sister, let her go. You already have me.”

The Dark Alicorn laughed loudly, “I have no such plans. The mare in which was once under your wing will forever be by my side, once I tear her mind to bits.” She looked to Twilight, “You may speak now.”

The purple mare looked up nervously at Nightmare for reassurance, before speaking quietly and timidly to her former teacher, “I-I’m so sorry Celestia… I failed you as a student.” Her voice began to break mid-sentence, tears starting to fill her eyes as she looked at the miserable state of the once-regal Princess Celestia.

‘My poor Twilight has been hurt so much already, she is the last pony to deserve something like this. Nightmare.. Sister, what have you become?’ Celestia looked into the eyes of the sad unicorn, ignoring the fact that Nightmare Moon was still there, “I will always love you dearly like my own filly Twilight, please do not ever forget that.”

“Oh how heartbreaking!,” Nightmare’s voice booms in loudly, “Former teacher and student reunited, we should have a celebration!” She mocks them both, her horn glowing brightly as the door to the prison cell slams shut behind them. “How else to celebrate such a touching moment rather than allowing former student to kill former teacher?” The Dark Alicorn humorously cackles as Twilight backs into the corner of the cell, a look of dread entering her eyes.

“Twilight!” Nightmare Moon snapped at the cowering mare, her long and dark horn beginning to glow brightly, “Come here!” A deep black aura snatched tightly around Twilight’s hooves, bruising them as she was pushed carelessly back to her master’s side.

Twilight gasped in pain and shock, “Ah!” she could sense an evil and immensely powerful aura all around the dungeon, much worse than anything she had felt previously from her new master. ‘Why is it so different from before? I-it was evil then, but n-now… It’s horrible. I can’t stand it, it’s overwhelming!’

The solar princess struggled in the grasp of her chains, calling out to Nightmare Moon and her former pupil, “It is taking over, the evil that’s manifesting deep within my sister Luna! The full power of the moon will be unleashed, all of Equestria will be doomed!” Celestia spoke desperately, “I beg of you sister, do not let the evil take over your soul, you can still be saved if you fight it!”

Nightmare Moon laughed maniacally, her head reaching to the ceiling as she raised her hoof, “I have no desire to fight it my ‘dear’ sister! I wish to become one with it! I shall let the power consume me from the inside out!” She lowered her horn towards her sister, a dark pulse of life-sucking energy shooting into the chained alicorn as she began to scream and writhe in agony.

“Celestia!!” Twilight cried, beginning to shamefully cower in the corner once again, ‘I can’t let this happen! She’s going to die’ She could feel the restrainment around her horn that sealed her magic, but with the amount of raw energy in the atmosphere it made it even easier to cast a spell. ‘I can do this..’ Twilight screamed out loudly, a purple and black aura surrounding her body as the brace around her horn exploded into bits, flying across the dungeon and all over the floor.

“W-what?!” Nightmare Moon shouted in surprise, before quickly solidifying her dark energy into a spear and launching it through the chained alicorn’s heart out through the other side of her body, blood and organs spilling everywhere with sick splats. “Hahaha!” She laughed out loud at her victory, smiling as her sister barely held onto life. She looked towards Twilight, “Too late, your attempt was completely futile!”

Twilight froze in shock, her mind unable to comprehend what just took place in front of her. ‘....’
She yells loudly, “No!! Celestia!” the mare runs to her former teacher’s side, holding onto her blood-soaked body desperately, “Please don’t die..” Twilight’s tears began to mix in with Celestia’s blood as she cried in sadness.

The solar alicorn spoke faintly as her voice wheezed, blood dripping from her mouth ”T-...Twilight.. N-nev..er.. G-giv-ve in…” Her last breath left her with those words, her body slumping as all of her muscles relaxed.. She was dead.

Hahahahaha!!” The dark alicorn’s laugh echoed throughout the dungeon, looking down to her dead sister and her new found student in gratification. “This was not as planned, however, just as entertaining!” The evil aura stretched throughout the room as her power began to grow, the moon shining slightly brighter than before.

“No…. no…” Twilight stared at Celestia’s dead body, her hooves beginning to shake as she felt a new emotion that she had never before experienced in her life. Rage. She turned around, looking fiercely to Nightmare Moon as her horn lit up with a spell, a large blast of purple energy blasting out from her horn towards her master.

A dense black knight shield appeared in front of Nightmare Moon in an instant, completely diminishing the ball of energy into nothing. “What a joke.” A demonic hand and arm made of dark energy shot out from the alicorn’s mane, picking up the small unicorn like a piece of paper and squeezing her tightly.

“A-ahh!!!” Twilight squealed and writhed in pain, barely managing to cast a teleportation spell to the outside of the cell. ‘I have to do something better.. I’m no match for her..’ She thought as Nightmare looked at her through inside the cell.

“Fool.” A giant burst of magic energy exploded out from Nightmare’s body, the metal and the entirety of the cell being blown to pieces flying around the dungeon. She trots out and tries to find the purple mare as the dust begins to clear.

*Breathing hard* “O-ow..” Twilight hid behind a stone piece of wall, a small lighter sized piece of metal stuck in her thigh near her cutie mark. ‘S-she is c-completely insane… I-I dont think there’s hope for m-me.’’ She began to crawl out to where she could see through the rubble, noticing Nightmare Moon beginning to come towards her area. ‘I can’t give up..’

Twilight stepped out from her hiding spot in an instant, her horn glowing brightly as she forced a nearby pillar to fall into the direction of Nightmare Moon, before quickly beginning to run in the opposite direction. ‘I-it’s a dead end..’

The same demonic hand of energy from before shot out from the dark alicorn’s mane, branching off into three separate arms as they grabbed ahold of the giant pillar, throwing it the air above Nightmare Moon. “I warned you Twilight.” The pillar broke into thousands of pieces in the air, before being shaped into spikes and launched towards Twilight.

‘Is this r-really how I’m going to d-die?’ The small unicorn backed into the corner of the dungeon wall as she noticed the thousands of spikes that were about to rain down upon her, her horn beginning to glow as she mustered up as much energy as she could to form a protective barrier around her body.

The shards of stone began to pound against the barrier, drowning out all other noise as the unicorn struggled to maintain her protective barrier, ‘I-I can’t keep up!”, Twilight thought as her barrier began to weaken, before inevitably collapsing. “A-ahh!!” The unicorn screamed in pain as the shards of stone began to impale her small body, only managing to cover her face with her hooves as she dropped to the ground.

Nightmare Moon trotted slowly to the fallen mare, smirking at the sight of her bloodied body shaking violently on the floor, “I told you that you may never leave your master’s side. It is either me, or death.” The dark alicorn pushed her hoof against one of the shards protruding from Twilight’s side, causing the unicorn to yelp out in pain.

“O-ow!! P-please.. Please don’t hurt me anymore..” The purple mare cried as she lay limp on the floor, the dark alicorn standing tall above her fallen body. “I-I don’t want to d-die..” Twilight spoke out in fear, feeling the true reality of death for the first time in her life. ‘Celestia..’

The dark queen used her magic to begin pulling out each and every one of the stone shards from the bleeding mare’s body, each one eliciting a small yelp of pain from the defeated unicorn. “How many more lessons shall you have before you truly learn? There is no escape from me. This is the way of life. Take the protection of those who are much more powerful than you, or be killed by them.” Her horn began to glow once again as a deep black aura surrounded Twilight’s small body, sealing each of her wounds that she gained from battle.

The purple unicorn could care less of her physical pain being gone, “I can’t believe you killed her.. Y-your own sister..” Twilight spoke as she remained lying on the cold dungeon floor, her head buried between her hooves as she cried out in mental distress.

Nightmare Moon cackled out loud, “Enough of this. We are leaving now and are to begin my conquer at once. I shall show all of Equestria who is the true ruler of this land, and you will grow powerful by my side.” She grabbed the crying Twilight from off the ground using her starly mane, lifting her onto her back and walking towards the crumbled cell where the former sun princess lay dead. “But before that, there is one more thing that I must do.”
