Twilight Sparkle had just finished her latest book on Starswirl The Bearded's spells to keep herself ahead on the assignments her mentor Princess Celestia gave her. "Wow, so that's how Starswirl was able to stop that volcano from going off. Never thought dragons would help him though," Twilight said to herself.

"Hey, what's that's supposed to mean?" Spike asked aggressively.

"Oh, no, I didn't mean dragons like you Spike. It's just he used Neighgerian Sharpsnouts. They're nasty pieces of work, child or adult," Twilight apologized.

"Oh, wow, uh, guess I can't argue there," Spike said. He had done some research recently about all different kinds of dragons, but nothing that gave any hint of what his dragon mother might have been like.

Twilight giggled and nuzzled her number one assistant before heading back to an area of the library only students of Celestia's school were allowed access to. As she put the book away, there was a gust of wind that knocked a book off its shelf. Twilight thought more then likely that another student must have not put it away properly. It wasn't a very large book, in fact, it seemed to have very few pages at all. It was as she was putting it back on the shelf, the title caught her eye. It read: The Lost Daughters of Celestia.

"Strange, I never read this story before," Twilight said.

"What story Twilight?" Spike asked as he helped put some more books away.

"This book called "The Lost Daughters of Celestia". I've never read it before," Twilight admitted.

"Really, but you've read like every book in the library, and wouldn't there be like, a copy of that in that one book about myths and legends, like the tale of the pony sisters?" Spike asked.

"How did you know about the pony sisters myth?" Twilight answered with her own question.

"You're not the only one reads you know," Spike crossed his arms, insulted about his intelligence being questioned.

"Oh, I'm sorry Spike, I didn't mean it like that," Twilight apologized once more.

"Well, care to find out what the story is about, I haven't read it yet," Spike said.

"Well... I guess we could spare the time. It's a short paged book and lunch with the Princess isn't for another hour," Twilight said.

"Well, let's get to reading then, er, you read, I'll listen," Spike said.

"Alright here we go," Twilight opens the book and reads, "Our story begins as so, ever since the banishment of Nightmare Moon, Celestia was reminded of two things, that she had done the right thing to protect her subjects and that her sister would be away from her for many years to come. Her heart was split. On one hoof she was happy knowing her subjects were safe from harm. On the other hoof, it was a painful for her, for she was now alone. Within a year of the defeat of Nightmare Moon, Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns was introduced. To her subjects, it was a chance to study under the Princess of Day herself. To her, it was a chance to find an apprentice, one she didn't need to treat like everyone else."

"Wow, I didn't know it started that quickly," Spike said, interested in the story.

"Well, let's read on," Twilight said, more interested then ever and continues, "Many that she taught aspired to greatness, such as Starswirl the Bearded, who had helped to teach Clover the Clever. Others were less recognized but did do many things for the benefit of all pony kind. Throughout the entire millennium, every one of her students had to move on, and once more her loneliness would seep in. She felt that this shouldn't go on forever. She longed to have somepony to care for, and knew that having a mate and maybe a child of her own would take away her loneliness that was eating away at her, even though she missed her sister all the same. Thus, came a mate who had won her heart, and soon married her. But their marriage was short lived. Not long after their union as a couple, a terrible storm had occurred and claimed the life of her beloved. She was alone once again. Or so she thought. Within months of her mate's death, the Princess of Day came to discover she was with foal. She was overjoyed.

Then came the bad news. One of her leading advisers and an old time friend of the royal family told her that it was urgent she keep it secret. True there was no pony who was against her, but all the same, there were some ponies out there, very crafty in their work, that would see an opportunity to ransom her foal for a heavy price, and if Nightmare Moon was to ever return from her banishment, her foal's life would be in even greater danger if she were to discover their existence. She couldn't afford putting her little one in such danger and let this be known to the public, so it was made known through the castle staff, guards and nobles that her foal's conception be kept secret. Princess Aqua Mane, Princess Celestia's sister in law, and a very kind princess, had promised to keep it a secret, but knew that her newborn son, Prince Blue Blood, would be too innocent, and might accidentally spill the beans, so she kept the secret from him as well. Wait Princess Aqua Mane knows of this?"

"That's pretty deep. Keep reading," Spike insisted, anxiously wanting to know more.

Twilight nodded and read, "After many months of her pregnancy, Celestia soon gave birth to not one, but three foals, all fillies and alicorns. Celestia was overjoyed to hold her daughters in her hooves. The joy once again was short lived. She had only had them for a few months, but knew they could not stay with her. Raising them in secret would be too risky of a decision to take. All it would take was one mistake, and the secret would be known to those who might harm them. Celestia knew she had to put them into the care of others, but they all had to be raised in separate families until the time was right. To this day, the three daughters of Princess Celestia remain hidden in plain sight, unaware of their true origins. They could be any pony, a unicorn, a pegasus, or an earth pony. Of course, this is all said to be myth from all the verbal stories passed around. I write this in hopes that somepony or the lost princesses themselves may find it one day and find a way to reunite the royal family and lift the heavy burden off our beloved Princess of Day."

"Wow, three ponies that are Celestia's daughters, that's amazing," Spike said.

"Yes it is. But we have no idea who they are, where to find them. It doesn't even tell us what they look like or what they may be doing in their daily lives," Twilight said.

"Does it say who the author is?" Spike asked.

Twilight looked over the book and saw that there was some cursive hoofwriting on it, but it read: Unknown.

"It says the author is unknown. Seems they don't want anypony knowing who wrote this. I can't blame them. I mean, if I knew about this, I'd hide my identity too if I was giving out this information. Still wonder how it ended it up here though," Twilight said.

"Who knows? Gosh, wouldn't it be wild if you might be one of the missing princesses?" Spike inquired.

"Hmhmhm, oh Spike, your letting that story go to your head. I couldn't be one of her daughters. I don't look anything like her, and I haven't seen another mare my age that has any similarities to me. I think you need to lay off the emeralds a bit, you know how those affect you sometimes," Twilight said.

"Hey, I haven't had one emerald all day," Spike defended himself.

"Riiight, that's why I didn't see you sneaking some behind your back at breakfast this morning while Chef Apple Dumpling wasn't looking and then munching on them while reading," Twilight said.

"Aw rats, you got me Twilight, but that oatmeal can only do so much, and I had to give it some spice with that amethyst gem when his back was turned. Can you blame me for taking them? I was hungry," Spike admitted in defeat.

"Hmhmhm, no Spike, I don't blame you. I know how dragons get quite an appetite, even baby dragons," Twilight felt a rumble in her tummy and continued, "And speaking of appetites, all this reading has made me hungry, and it's just about time for our lunch with the Princess."

"Then lets go, I'm starving," Spike said.

Twilight giggled and soon turned to leave for the dining hall, with Spike hopping onto her back as he had done on many occasions. Soon the two were off to the dining hall.

Lunch With the Princess of Day

As Twilight Sparkle walked throught halls of Canterlot Castle, Everypony greeted her as usual. It caught her attention that she noticed how they were greeting her, like she was a pony of importance. Then she remembered, she's Celestia's personal protege', so of course they would greet her like that. As she was nearing the dining hall, she heard Celestia speaking with her nephew in a room next to her. "Look, all I am asking is that you spare some time to actually talk with a family member Aunt Celestia. You are always so busy with your royal duties and I am wanting your opinion on something, but I am never able to find a moment to ask if you can spare a moment," Blueblood said.

"If it so important to talk with me, then you can make an appointment ahead of time with my cheif advisers. I am sure they can give you a spot to see me while I deal with the day to day requests of our subjects," Celestia said to her nephew.

Twilight kept her breathing quiet as Blueblood continued, "Aunt Celestia, I am your nephew. I think I am entitled to have the company of my own relation for a short while. I have nothing against the task you perform on a daily basis, nor do I question the time you spend with your students, especially Twilight Sparkle. I just feel a little unnerved when it seems you spend more time with her then you do with your own nephew. Don't get me wrong, Twilight is a fine student that you took as your protege. I doubt that even the other nobles can say anything against her abilities, especially after that raw power she showed at her entrance exam a year, or was it two years ago?... beside the point, I just ask that you at least think about sparing some time to share the company of a relative, alright Aunt Celestia," Blueblood pleaded.

Celestia sighed, "I shall give it some careful thought my nephew. In the mean time I ask that you be patient."

Blueblood was about to say something, but Celestia's grand adviser, and good friend, Lord Silver Sword said, "Pardon me your majesties, it may interest you to know that this conversation is no longer private."

"Before Twilight could politely knock on the door, Silver Sword opened it with his magic. Celestia saw Twilight and said, "Ah, Twilight, good to see you dear."

"Have I come at a bad time? I mean, we can push back lunch for another hour if you need your highness," Twilight suggested.

"Oh, parish the thought dear, my nephew and I were finished with our conversation for the time being," Celestia looked at Blueblood and continued, "We'll finish the discussion after lunch, is that appropriate for you nephew?"

Blueblood cleared his throat, "Perfectly fine Aunt Celestia, I shall be looking forward to continuing the discussion after lunch."

"Alright, now follow me Twilight, I would like to hear what you have learned in you magic studies," Celetia said as she led them to the dining hall to enjoy their lunch for the day.

As Twilight let her teacher know of her day of studying, Celestia was intrigued as always. Once their meal, which was Tomato soup with a hint of basil and some sweet apple cider, non-alcoholic, for a drink, Twilight thought back to the story she and Spike had read. Spike was too busy enjoying his soup, after adding a bit of smokey quarts to it. Celestia noticed after a few brief moments that Twilight was merely stirring her soup with her magic as she sat there. She knew that look anywhere, and it was when Twilight was deep in thought and had an important question that needed answering. "Twilight, I sense there is something that has you searching for an answer, do you wish to tell me what is on your mind?" Celestia asked.

"Well... it probably is of no importance, but there was a book I read, a very short written book that has me wondering about a few things," Twilight said.

"Oh, and what was it in the book that troubled your mind?" Celestia asked as she began to take a sip of her cider.

"Well, now I know this may sound crazy, but the book said that you had three daughters not too long ago," Twilight said.

Celestia coughed as she choked on a bit of her cider upon hearing this. She had not expected Twilight to bring forth this subject. She cleared her throat and said, "Well, that is an interesting discovery Twilight."

Twilight was a bit surprised at her teachers reaction, but continued, "Well, I guess it just had me curious. I mean the way it explained how you had covered up their existence, and sent them to live among the rest of your subjects without anypony knowing who they were, aside from the ponies who took them in, well, it was intriguing to say the least. Now I would have thought it to be no more than a fairy tale written by somepony to entertain children, but the location I found it in, and the fact that the author did not make themselves be known, it raises some questions for me. I don't mean to worry you or anything princess."

"I admire your enthusiasm on this subject my fateful student. I do ask that you try not to put too much thought into the story. The last time that happened, it put you in a coma for five days, and had me worried," Celestia said.

"I understand your highness. I only brought the subject up out of curiosity," Twilight said.

"And I have nothing against that Twilight. Asking questions will always sharpen the mind of everypony. It is how we learn. But for now, let us enjoy our lunch. I'll tell you a few things about my last exploit in the Griffons' Kingdom," Celestia said.

Twilight agreed and listened as her teacher told her about how she was able to keep the peace with the Griffon Kingdom to the east and enjoyed her still warm soup. After lunch, Twilight returned to her studies in the library with her number one assistant, still having the subject of the Lost Princesses on her mind. Celestia proceeded to her private meeting room where Prince Blueblood was waiting for her with Lord Silver Sword. "So, since I took your suggestion into strong consideration, I shall make it a prime goal to spare some time to speak with you nephew, starting now Blueblood. What is it that you wish to discuss?" Celestia asked.

"I was wanting to speak with you about the idea of courtship for me. Now I know I am very young, and it would be out of the ordinary for me to marry a mare now, but, the idea of betrothal until the marriage is something that I am wanting to talk about," Blueblood said.

"Betrothal you say Blueblood? I don't see a reason for one," Celestia said.

Blueblood stated, "Well, I know it's true that my mother and father were not exactly betrothed to each other before they were married, but that was due to the fact of my father's family being from the more eastern part of the world and ventured here to save their subjects from a uncontrollable desert that claimed their kingdom. I am sure they are all grateful you greeted them with a warm welcome and a permanent stay in this land, but we're getting off subject. Since my mother and I were both born here, Equestrian law does state that when a mare or stallion does come of age, they are to be betrothed once there is a suitable other of the proper age. Now, I know what you are thinking. The only other noble that is of age at this point is my cousin Cadence, and trust me when I say, I do not wish to court a relation that is through blood or marriage of other relatives. I have read in the law, that if a suitable other born of noble status is not available, there is the case of military officers able to court nobility. Now I am not going to betroth myself off to another stallion either, for that would be unethical and that would probably be something for Cadence to look into. So..."

Celestia interrupted, "Pardon me for stopping you in in mid-sentence, and I apologize if this may sound rude, but, what is the point you are trying to make?"

"Yes, you do seem to be dragging the core of your debate out your majesty, no offense," Silver Sword stated.

"No, my apologies, what I am trying to explain is, there is also the case of students taught under those who are noble, such as yourself Aunt Celestia," Blueblood said.

"Prince Blueblood, are you suggesting what I think you are?" Silver Sword asked.

"Yes, I am suggesting a betrothal to Twilight Sparkle. She is not of age yet, but she is a headstong mare, know's her way about the castle, and shows many signs of nobility, even though her family may not come from such origins. I feel she would make a fine princess when she comes of age," Blueblood said.

Celestia looked at Silver Sword, then back at Blueblood. She regained her composure and said, "As logical as that may sound Blueblood, I simply can't allow it. It is nothing against you, nor against my student. I wish I could tell you why I cannot allow it, but it is not the time or the place to do so. Now, the Grand Galloping Gala that we hold in about 3 years, since there is a four year gap in between them, I do suggest to look for a fine mare of the same age and of nobility there, and have a talk with the parents. In the meantime, I am sure if you were to take a royal stroll of Canterlot in the noble square you might find somepony," Celestia said.

"I suppose that is acceptable. I do hope that you will be able to let me know in the future of why it is a betrothal to your student isn't allowed. Until then, I look forward to another family talk Aunt Celestia," Blueblood said.

"I will be sure to inform you when I have time my nephew," Celestia said.

Blueblood nodded and soon bowed to show his respect to his aunt, and soon took his leave for the day to perform the royal task that needed his attention. After Celestia had her own private talk with Silver Sword, she made her way to the throne room to take care of the daily matters in day court and her teachings with Twilight.

Silver Sword's Offer

As Twilight was back in the library the next day with Spike, she decided to look up some information on the Viking Pony Clan. It still amazed her to this day that these ponies spent most of their time at sea rather then on land. 'If Celestia was around during that time, it must have been an exciting experience,' Twilight thought.

No matter how many times she tried to block out the thought, the story she read kept itching away at her mind. She was doning her best not to dwell on it, but it kept coming to thought. She began to think back to when she first became Celestia's student. She remembers the day of her entrance, Celestia was speaking with her parents. She hadn't thought about it, but now it interested her of what they had been talking about. Of course, Celestia probably was just explaining of how becoming Celestia's protege worked. Another thing that dawned on her was when Cadence was all excited that she was staying with them at the castle. Now that could have been for a number of things, but it still made her wonder. She also began to think about all the times the ponies greeted her, like she was more then Celestia's student. At the same time these thought twirled in her head, she kept telling herself that she was just letting the story get to her. Truth is, it was working.

Meanwhile Celestia was finishing up court for the morning hours, making sure she listened to every pony's matter, be it a major incident or a simple misunderstanding. All the while, she was thinking about her daughters, now more then ever. After Twilight had brought up the subject yesterday. It was beginning to eat away at her about having to send them away. She didn't know how much longer she could bare the thought that they were not under her care. One was close by, but yet she was unaware that Celestia was wanting to tell her. She would have to let her three daughters know soon of who they were, for if she didn't, she feared that if they got older and found out, they may not be so forgiving. Children were more forgiving about what happened, but Teenagers, and even adults were a lot more bitter about such things.

As Celestia dealt with the last pony of the morning about suggesting a more efficient way to grow grapes for wine, she politely declined since growth enhancers that were dangerous to a pony's health would be in the mix. After hearing her reasoning, the pony thanked the princess, and stated she would be back next time once she found something more safe and beneficial for the grapes. Celestia nodded and let the mare go about her day.

After the mare took off, Celestia sat there and was deep in thought. Silver Sword looked up and saw her expression. "I've seen that look before your highness, what is troubling you?" Silver pried making sure no pony who was not of castle staff was listening as he walked up to the Princess of day.

"Silver Sword, how many times must I ask you to call me Celestia or Tia when we're in private?" Celestia asked in annoyance.

"At least once more your majesty. Now what is it that has you worried your highness?" Silver replied.

"Oh, Silver Sword. I just don't know what to do now. Ever since Twilight's discovery of my descendants was brought to light I've been thinking it over and over again. I'm starting to think my daughters are in danger more by themselves than near me these days. I know one is safe, but two of my daughters are still out there and they need me. I know what we agreed to was in our best interests at the time, but now I am starting to think that the choice we made is no longer the right option. I... I... I just can't bare it any longer! I need to see them! And we need to let the public know about them," Celestia burst out.

"Calm down your highness. Please. Now, I know you want to see them again, and honestly, I think you're right, we need to bring them back. But to let the public know at this time would be the wrong decision. First we need to contact their caretakers and let them know what is happening, then, once they are here, we let the public know. If we let the public know now, every pony will be looking for them and will expect some kind of reward, your majesty ," Silver Sword warned.

Celestia nodded. "You are right Silver. I trust in your wisdom on this matter. You've been such a good friend to me all these years, and your advise has helped me in many decisions. I've never had to ask anything of you when help was needed. You just offered it when you knew I needed it," Celestia said with a smile.

"And I am offering my help again. I'll make it my personal goal to bring back your daughters. Twilight needs to know she's not alone here. I am sure you are going to let Twilight know of her lineage right your highness?" Silver asked.

"Of course, but Silver, you don't have to do this. I can have any pony from our castle staff or guard search for them if their caretakers can't bring them here," Celestia said.

"Celestia, er, Princess, this is the least I can do for the royal family. I know you'll tell me I have done more then enough, but this is something I feel I must do for you and your family your highness," Silver said as he bowed his head in respect.

"Silver, I told you that bowing before me isn't necessary when in private. And I thank you for doing this for me. Is there anything I can offer you in return?" Celestia asked.

"I can ask for nothing from you, your highness. To know that you are happy once again is enough for me. Besides, what I would seek in return is far too great, and I would never request such from the ruler of our lands out loud your majesty," Silver said.

"Oh, Silver, you are too kind for your own good sometimes. And thank you so much for this," Celestia said as she gave Silver Sword a hug.

This in turn surprised Silver Sword that the princess did this, but he did not allow himself to spoil the moment for his ruler. Celestia soon pulled away and Silver said, "Well, I shall start collecting my belongings at once and make haste to find your daughters. Give my best regards to Twilight, er, I mean Princess Twilight Sparkle your highness."

"Oh, Silver Sword, always you show respect. I shall let her know," Celestia said.

"Have a good day your majesty," Silver said as he bowed and left the throne room.

"Goodbye... Silver," Celestia said as she watched him take off.

She then remembered it was about time to see Twilight for their daily lunch get together. She made her way down the stares from her throne and towards the exit. There was a window near the exit she stared at which, to most, seemed to reveal nothing. But if you were one who knew of the true story, it revealed a white alicorn, who's body encircled three tiny alicorns asleep in her embrace. Celestia knew that soon, the whole nation would know and beyond. What she wondered was what her daughters would think. One of them was about to hear it from her as well as another member of the royal family.

Another thing that was nagging at her mind was Silver Sword as she walked through the halls of her palace. For so long he had been a friend to her. He was always selfless in what he did. He offered his advice whenever he could, even when Celestia herself was so sure of something. He helped shape how she ran her politics in this past decade or two, and even offered to be her mate's best Stallion at the wedding. She was also able to seek his comfort when her beloved had passed. Honestly, no pony could ask for a better friend. In this realization however, Celestia felt sad in a sense.

She was doing her best to be a good friend to him as well, but she felt it was never enough. She needed to know why Silver Sword was avoiding to ever ask her of the one thing he never mentioned. She had a hunch of what it was, and hoped she was right, for she wanted to grant him that request. She felt it reached far back in their friendship and was blind not to realize it to begin with. But she needed to hear it from him. She needed him to let her know in his own words. He was her friend and friends don't ignore their friends needs. And speaking of friends, this was something Twilight was in desperate need of.

She noticed how much Twilight indulged herself in her books. So much in fact, she was far ahead of her fellow classmates in their studies. And it was proving to degrade the young little princess's personal image. She had heard comments when other ponies talked about her behind her back, and they were ones that Celestia was not eager to tolerate. After she met with Twilight, she had to put forth a plan that would ensure that her daughter would interact with those around her, but this would be in an area Celestia knew was more friendly and was home to a few of Celestia's other friends old and young. A great place to start a friendship and what Twilight needed. In fact once all three of her daughters were safe in her hooves again, she would take all three to this area. But for now, she had a lunch to attend and a truth to tell to two family members within the palace. She was still wrapping it around her head of how they would react to this as she made her way to the library. 'Maybe it would be wise to request my niece attend this conversation with me,' Celestia thought.

Celestia soon came upon the doors of the royal library where Spike was griping about Twilight's enthusiasm about the Viking pony clans of old.

Celestia chuckled at the scene and this was enough to get young Twilight's attention. "Oh, Princess Celestia, hello, I suppose you are ready for the lunch get together," Twilight guessed.

"Indeed, and we'll also be having it with Prince Blueblood and Princess Cadence," Celestia said.

"Oh, may I ask why your majesty?" Celestia's star pupil requested.

"Let's just say, there is something important for all of you to hear. I'd rather let you know together, rather then having to tell you separately," Celestia answered.

"I see. Well, let's not keep Prince Blueblood and Princess Cadence waiting then," Twilight suggested.

The two soon made their way towards the dining hall, along with Spike on Twilight's back. Soon they were in the dining hall and there, they were greeted by the faces of Princess Cadence and Prince Blueblood. Cadence and Twilight performed their usual greeting dance, then Cadence said,"Hello Aunt Celestia."

"Hello Cadence, and I see you seem to be on best behavior nephew," Celesita replied.

"I see no reason why not. Is there any particular reason you called us here today?" Blueblood asked.

"Indeed there is, and I had the liberty of having the chefs prepare our favorite dishes for today's lunch," Celestia said.

"That was kind of you Aunt Celestia. Thank you very much," Cadence said.

Soon, Celestia, Twilight and Spike took their seats as some of the castle butlers gave them each a drink, ranging from Apple Juice to Root Beer. "I know that this is the first time that I have had you and Twilight in a meeting together Blueblood, but there is something that you both must know, for I fear if you are not told soon, it may have repercussions in the future," Celestia said.

"Well I wouldn't that to happen for the kingdom. What is it that must be known now?" Blueblood insisted.

"Trust me when I say this, it's been harder for me to keep this information secret then you can think, so let me try to ease into this. Twilight, do you ever notice how most of the Castle staff greets you as you pass by them?" Celestia asked.

"Well, yes, they do show me a lot of courtesy when I do, but that's probably just because I am your student your highness," Twilight said.

"Well, excuse me for cutting in, but, they treat her as if she's royal herself. I see them do the same for Prince Blueblood as he passes them. But like Twilight said, it's probably because she is your student your majesty," Spike said.

"Indeed, many of my previous students have been shown great respect because of their position, but not in the way the castle staff shows to you Twilight,"Celestia said.

"I'm not sure I understand this Aunt Celestia. Twilight Sparkle comes from a family, and I mean no offence, of the common folk, as does her brother, Corporal Shining Armor," Blueblood said.

"Sergeant Shining Armor now, he was promoted two days ago," Cadence mentioned.

"Oh, well I congratulate him then," Blueblood said.

"We are getting off topic. Now Twilight, do you remember the book you told me about?" Celesita asked.

"Yes, the story about your three daughters said to be out there," Twilight said.

"Oh that old book. It's a bunch of preposterous rumor," Blueblood said.

"Have you read it your majesty?" Twilight asked.

"No, but I can say that I would know if my own aunt had foals. They'd probably be about your age running around the castle. Not that I don't think your well behaved, but I'll admit I wasn't the most under control foal at your age Twilight. The book is nothing but entertaining fiction for little children," Blueblood said.

"Well if you had read the story nephew, it would have said that I had three fillies that I had sent away in secret and had every staff member and your mother keep them secret, even from you," Celestia told him.

"I don't see why you would have to," Blueblood said as he began to sip his drink.

"I still don't understand where I fit into this even if the story is true your highness," Twilight said.

"Well, I wouldn't expect you to, since your mind is still young, so, I suppose there is no easy way to break the ice. You see, Twilight you're... you're one of my daughters," Celestia admitted.

Twilight gasped and Blueblood was in complete shock as he spat his drink clear across the table, nearly soaking Cadence had she not moved out of the line of fire. "Well, wasn't expecting that," Spike said.

"Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me that Twilight Sparkle here, is my cousin, and I didn't even know it?" Blueblood said.

"Well, in truth, she's Princess Twilight Sparkle, but yes. I was relieved her magic didn't give her away. As much as I have tried, I have had no success in hiding her magical energy, or her sisters for that matter. Their appearances were easy enough though. Now that you know, there's no bother in hiding it now," Celestia said, as she lit her horn and wings appeared on Twilight's back.

"Of all the things that could have happened, this was not something I expected," Blueblood said.

"I am just as surprised as you are your hi-, er, I mean cousin Blueblood. Wow, that will take getting used to, and calling you mother," Twilight said.

"You're telling me Twilight," Blueblood said.

"I am surprised you took it so well," Celestia said, expecting Twilight to have a panic attack.

"But, I don't know the first thing about being a princess. Is there a book about it? Is there Royal Duties I have to preform? What will everyone think of me now that I know I am a princess? Does this mean my studies are done because I have royal Duties? Do I-," Twilight was cut off as Celestia put a hoof one her students mouth.

"And there was the reaction that I was expecting. Now, you don't need to worry, there will be time for all of that later. Being a Princess takes time, but I am sure you can catch up to Blueblood's learning stage in no time with the way you study," Celestia said.

"She'll probably surpass me in a week with her study habits, no offense cousin," Blueblood said.

"None taken," Twilight said.

"Well, now I see why you didn't want that whole betrothal thing between us Aunt Celestia. Last thing we need is to have the Kingdom breathing down our necks about cousins marrying," Blueblood said.

Cadence laughed, "Frankly, even if Twilight wasn't related to us, I don't think you'd be each others type. You have never been on a study frenzy and I have never seen Twilight have her nose out of a book more then a day at most."

"She does have a point there nephew," Celestia said.

"No argument here," Twilight and Bluebloof said at the same time before laughing.

As they continued to chat, the chefs soon brought in their favorite dishes and they enjoyed their lunch as a royal family, plus an honorable dragon brother/son/cousin.

Meanwhile, Silver Sword had just made his way to Ponyville after hearing that one of Celestia's daughters was living there. As he made his way onto Gallop Avenue, he then heard a ruckus.

"You really need to loosen up," A flying rainbow maned pegasus said.

"We will, after you apologize for making us look like fools," a teenage unicorn colt said.

"Hmm, nah. It was too funny to see you turn tail and run when I scared ya with my mask," the rainbow filly said again.

"That's it, take her down!" a teen earth pony colt said.

"Take your best shot," the filly teased.

A pegasus teen swiped at her and missed as she flew off. "You're gonna have to better then that boys," she egged on.

They threw a rope at her and missed again. Then the pegasus teen tried swiping a net at her while flying. "Woah!" the filly starts.

He Swiped again "Ah ah ah," she continues.

He swiped a third time. "Three strikes you're out," she finished.

He gets hit by a net launched from a blue cannon. The unicorn sighed at how much his gang was failing at catching the younger filly. "Come down here Rainbow Dash. I have something for you," he said.

"A present? For me? Aw, you really shouldn't have," Rainbow Dash said as she sat down on a rope suspended by the surrounding buildings.

"Oh you see, it's a certain, earth pony friend of yours," the unicorn colt said.

"Who?" Rainbow asked Asked.

"Haha, Applejack," he replied as he looked at a sack he had hanging over the river.

"Applejack? Let her go Dark Hoof," Rainbow demanded, before flying down and wrapping her rear legs around his neck while banging her front hooves on his head as she conitnued, "You black-hearted scoundrel."

"You want me to free her?! I have a better idea!" Dark Hoof grabs her in his magic and continues, "Join her for a swim!"

Just as he was about to throw her his magic was counteracted by stronger magic and they heard, "You dare harm fillies half your age?"

"Sir, keep out of our business, we have to teach this filly who is the boss around here," Dark Hoof said.

"Using violence is not something one should use to prove themselves, now, I would appreciate it if you would kindly let Rainbow Dash's friend out of the sack you have hanging on the bridge," Silver Sword said as he placed Rainbow Dash near him.

"Sir, I am warning you, back off," Dark Hoof said.

"Verbal threats from you are like a squeak from a harmless mouse," Silver Sword said.

"Why you," Dark hoof was cut off as Silver Sword blasted his magic at the charging colt.

When the light cleared, a little grey mouse sat where Dark Hoof once was. Everyone then heard little squeaks of help as he sat there. "Does anyone else want to test me?" Silver Sword said.

The colts all looked at each other, and then shook their heads. "Good, then be so kind as to release the little filly Applejack and let her go home," Silver Sword said.

The Colts agreed and soon let Applejack out where she soon ran back through town. The colts then bolted off, leaving Dark Hoof behind. Silver Sword soon changed him back and the colt was in a state of shock and fear, but then said, "My Uncle Stinkin Rich will hear about this," Dark Hoof said.

"Well, I'm not worried, for I have more then enough at my disposal to tell him what happened. But I wouldn't worry about that. I'd worry about him," Silver Sword said as he pointed behind him to a very large, very angry, teenage earth pony that had red fur and and an orange mane.

Dark Mane gulped before turning tail and galloping with the earth pony right behind him. "That... was... awesome sir. I mean, I could have handled them myself, but you did a decent job," Rainbow Dash said.

'Oh, that trolling personality. She definitely gets that from her mother,' Silver Sword thought.

"So, what brings you to Ponyville?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"You actually. Princess Celestia wants to have a word with you as soon as possible," Silver Sword said.

He could not expect what Rainbow Dash's reaction would be.

A Ray Of Sunshine and Siblings Reunited

As Rainbow Dash and Silver Sword made their way through Ponyville, Silver Sword was still trying to get over the Rainbow Maned Princess's freak out. He knew she was eccentric about things, but finding out that the Princess of Equestria wanted to see her, it was at a whole nother level. "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh. I just can't believe that Princess Celestia wants to see me," Rainbow Dash said for the... well, Silver Sword lost track around forty.

"Yes, but there is somepony else we have to find. She has a yellow fur and a red and gold mane," Silver Sword said.

"You talking about Sunset Shimmer?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Wait you two know each other?" Silver Sword inquired.

"Yeah. We hang out all the time. I mean, her magic is so awesome, the bullies don't even mess with her. That's why they try to get me and my other friends when she's not around," Rainbow Dash said.

"Can you take me to her?" Silver Sword requested.

"Sure, she should be at the library right now," Rainbow Dash said.

'Just like her sister. Always into learning her magic,' Silver Sword thought. "Alright, lead the way Rainbow Dash," Silver Sword offered.

Soon Rainbow Dash took flight and flew all over the place while still heading towards the library. Soon they finally made it to their destination, And just as they made it to the door, it swung open. "Hey there Sunset," Rainbow Dash said to the filly who's nose was stuck in a book.

Sunset Shimmer peaked up and saw her friend with a grown up unicorn stallion. "Hey Rainbow. You know the latest copy of Daring Do isn't here yet," Sunset Shimmer said as she set her book in her saddle bag.

"Yeah I know, but that's not the reason we're here," Rainbow Dash said.

Sunset was a bit confused by the statement. "We? This stallions with you?" Sunset pondered.

"Mmhm," Rainbow Dash said.

"My name is Lord Silver Sword. Pleasure to meet you Sunset Shimmer," he politely bowed.

Sunset blushed. "I'm no noble, you don't have to bow to me," Sunset pointed out.

"It was just a common courtesy I was brought up to do young one. Now as Rainbow Dash has pointed out, we are not here for a copy of Daring Do. We actually here looking for you," Silver Sword informs her.

"Me?" Sunset asked.

"Indeed. Princess Celestia requests and audience with you and Rainbow Dash, as well as her student Twilight Sparkle," Silver Sword answered.

"The Twilight Sparkle? And the Princess wants to see me? No way," Sunset said.

"Well, I wouldn't be here without reason. Now I must speak with your guardians and tell them what is going on," Silver Sword said.

It didn't take long for Silver Sword to take care of everything. The ponies that had been taking care of the two fillies, knew what was happening. They were happy that the three sisters were finally being reunited with their mother. When Silver, Sunset and Rainbow arrived at Canterlot after a long two hour travel, the two were awestruck at the beauty of the city. One thing that threw them off was that they were surrounded by guards. Sunset figured it must be because of Lord Silver Sword. She knew he was Princess Celestia's chief adviser, so he must have been important. Many mares and stallions who were looking at them. Possibly because their sense of fashion was different to those of the ponies of Canterlot. Soon, they came to the doors of Canterlot Castle. "Lord Silver Sword, good day to you sir, Princess Celestia was beginning to worry," one of the royal guards stated.

"I suspected as much. But I am here now, and with two very important ponies as well Lieutenant Ginger Mane," Silver Sword said.

Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer had looks of confusion. Had Silver just called them important ponies? They were just two fillies from a small town. How were they of any importance? "Well, I shall not keep you three or the Princess and the others waiting, right this way," Ginger Mane said as he led them inside two other guards stood watch. Rainbow Dash and Sunset shimmer were even more awe struck at the castle's interior, and felt so lucky to have a chance to see it all. Soon the group of ponies came upon another set of doors and at the top sat a very distinct symbol, and Sunset having done her homework on the castle itself, knew this had to be Princess Celestia's bed chambers. Lieutenant Ginger knocked on the double doors, and the group saw a gold aura surround the one he knocked. Soon it opened and Silver motioned the two young fillies to follow him. When they walked in, the two fillies' jaws dropped simultaneously. Not only was the ruler of Equestria there, but so was her niece and nephew, and her prized pupil, from the news Sunset had received. And of course who could forget the baby dragon, Spike.

"Hello there Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer. It's so good to see you again," Celestia said.

"Again?" Sunset pondered.

Not once had she remembered meeting the princess of day in her life. Twilight giggled, "You're going to find out in a moment."

Rainbow Dash raised an eye brow, "Find out what?"

"Well, I think it's best that Celestia tells you," Cadence said.

"Have to admit aunt Celestia, they definitely have a different nature then I am used to," Blueblood said.

"That's because you barely ever leave the castle grounds," Cadence spat.

"Can't argue there I guess," Blueblood said.

"Alright you two that's enough. Now Sunset, Dash, I know that this may be hard to accept but your not here just to have a surprise visit with me. It's been a long time since I was able to set eye on either of you, and it's torn me apart for so long. I sometimes wish events of the past had not led to what I had to do," Celestia said.

"I'm not sure I follow. Shouldn't we have remembered meeting you before?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"No, you were only foals...... But a mother never forgets," Celestia said.

Sunset and Rainbow Dash went slack jawed once again, their mouths nearly touched the floor. "Wait wait wait, so your our mother, then that means, Rainbow Dash and I are..... sisters," Sunset deduced.

"Yes, you two and Twilight Sparkle," Celestia said.

Sunset and Rainbow Dash look over at Twilight with expressions of shock. "B-but, why were we living with other ponies?" Rainbow asked.

"I'll let your sister explain that one," Celestia said.

Twilight gave them a run down on how this all came to pass. Rainbow's mind was spinning. Sunset was just as mind boggled. But soon the three had a hug and giggle fest, so happy to be reunited once more. "Hey, where's my hug?" Celestia said.

Rainbow joked, "I'm too cool for mom hugs. I mean, I'm a princess."

"Is that so?" Celestia grinned devilishly.

Soon she grabbed her daughter and ruffled her mane while holding her in a hug. Rainbow couldn't help but giggle. Soon Celestia stopped and Rainbow Dash turned around and hugged her mother. Soon Sunset and Twilight joined in. "It's so great to have you back here and safe again. I honestly couldn't last much longer without all of you. I'm so sorry I had to send you away," Celestia said.

"It's okay. You had to do it for our protection," Sunset Shimmer said.

"Yeah, but, how were you able to find a Rainbow maned colt to take care of me?" Rainbow asked.

"Well, oddly enough, he's a distant relation that extends back to my mortal sister, Gaea rest her soul," Celestia said sadly.

"Cool," Rainbow Dash said.

"Oh there is so much I want to tell you both," Twilight said.

"I'm sure you have much to share with them Twilight, but first, let us have dinner," Celestia said.

"I think it might be wise to have it here," Cadence said.

"I second that. I know they are my cousins and all, but they have not yet acquired their royal manners, which I have no doubt will be picked up fast," Blueblood said.

"Don't be so sure cuz," Rainbow said.

Blueblood was taken aback, then he laughed. "Rainbow Dash certainly has your sense of humor Aunt," Blueblood exclaimed.

"Indeed. Silver Sword, would you like to join us?" Celestia asked.

"Oh, I wish I could you majesty, but I have to report to the royal court. I've already gotten nobles asking about my travels, and I am sure Fancy Pants will want to hear about Ponyville," Silver Sword said.

"Alright, I understand. I don't know how I can ever thank you for this," Celestia replied.

"Oh, no thanks is necessary your highness," Silver exclaimed.

Soon Silver took his leave and Celestia continued to stare at the door he had trotted out through. Twilight spoke quietly to her cousin Cadence, "Somepony's in looove."

Cadence giggled, grabbing her aunts attention to snap back to reality. "Right now let us call for the castle cooks and butlers to prepare what you would all like," Celestia said, trying to hide her blush.

The family all began to tell the butlers and cooks what they would like to eat and then Twilight told her sisters about how her number one assistant/adopted brother came to be, not prepared to find out what was next.
