Thundering booms echoing through the night, silent whispers through the halls of the kingdom, silent whistles of the gusting winds, threatening to chill the guards of the dark kingdom that belongs to Nightmare Moon. In the beginning, it had started off as a simple fling, a simple night with the father of chaos. But now, nine months later, it had become something much more.

As for the holder of secrets, keeper of spies, stood the Queen of the night herself, Nightmare Moon. Her mane was hidden well under the tattered cloth of her cloak. Her dark coat hidden well as she raced down the halls, shattering the silence with the rumble of her hooves as she made her exit, a bundle hidden well on her side, a bundle containing the child of chaos. The bundle of the night, a young colt.

The colt was a bluish-gray with a long black mane and he had emerald green eyes. He was an alicorn, one of only a few to be born. He had the powers of the night and the power of chaos, but he wouldn’t know how powerful he truly was until much later in his life.

Queen Celestia knew of this birth and when she defeated both Nightmare Moon and Discord, she took the young colt and hid it away from the world.

Celestia raised the young colt and gave him a name, but she knew if Discord ever broke free all hell would break loose. Celestia named this young colt Night Wolfe, after his coat, which resembled the night, and his tail, which look like that of a wolf.

As Night grew, he started to live on his own in a house in the Everfree Forest, though not without restriction. Celestia wanted to keep him from the rest of the world, knowing that very few ponies would dare to go into the cursed wood. Whenever he left his home, he would be covered head to hoof, hiding his alicorn features from everypony, lest they see his alicon heritage and question his origins.

As he grew into his magic, he began to study it. Though he was an alicorn, and would one day grow to be powerful indeed, at the time he met with limited success, but this did not stop him from his studies.

1,000 years later the young colt learned about his past, about how he was the son of chaos and the son of the night.
Celestia gave Night bits and pieces of information about his father, the embodiment of chaos.

Night, who had no real idea who the god of chaos was, took every opportunity to learn about him, and was elated to finally find an old forgotten book on his father. It was from this book he first learned the name of his father, Discord. He also learned about his mother, Nightmare Moon, and her plan to take revenge for her imprisonment on the moon. Knowing of his mother’s plan, Night attempted to help her, but Celestia found out about this, and imprisoned the colt.

The years passed, and the colt grew into a young stallion. As he began to mature, Night felt his power begin to grow deep inside of him, finally beginning to to surface.

Little did he know, but very soon a new force would rise to take revenge on Celestia and Luna, his father Discord.Even entombed in stone, Discord retained some of his power, and was attempting to contact his son so he could rescue him from his granite prison, however; Celestia predicted this and blocked most of discords magic, and shielded Night farther. Most, but not all.

Night heard the call of chaos, and followed it to the castle gardens to find his father encased in stone.

He felt his blood boil when he saw his father, the embodiment of all chaos, helpless inside his stony state. What rankled him the most was the fact that there was nothing he could do to change it.

“What have these ponies done to you father?” Night lamented as he wept at his father’s still feet. Night looked up at his father, knowing that he would escape his bonds, but not knowing when.

Celestia knew that after this, the young colt would seek any means he could find to free Discord, and she imprisoned him again, this time, confining him more drastically than she had before. But, her efforts were for naught, for Discord escaped on his own, causing chaos and havoc once again. This time, however, the Elements of Harmony proved useless, their bearers brainwashed and rendered unable to use their Elements. Even Twilight, couldn’t resist his power, and fell to chaos.

Without the Elements of Harmony, Discord had nothing stopping him from causing chaos freely, and he did not waste any time in turning Equestria upside down.

Night knew that with his father causing chaos, he would have no trouble escaping his captivity. He left his latest cell and looked for his father, wishing to help him, but could not find the draconequus.

In an attempt to find his father, Night went to Ponyville, the epicenter of the chaos he had caused.

With every step Night took, he knew he was getting closer to his father; ponies were running about in a panic, some running him over, and otherworldly things were happening every second, including flying fish and other nonsensical phenomena.

When he reached the center of Ponyville, he finally saw his father, scrutinizing one of his newly created acts of chaos. Night flew up to the avatar of chaos and tapped him on the shoulder, not knowing what to expect. Discord turned his head around to face Night, while the rest of his body took a second to follow suit. His looked Night over for a second before his face lit up with recognition.

“Son!” Discord explained, wrapping his now confused progeny in a bear hug.

“Father?” the puzzled alicorn asked.

“Yep. I bet it feels good to see good ol’ dad in the flesh,” the draconequus said, hugging his son tighter.

“Y-yeah, it is,” Night replied.

“So, is my boy as strong as his daddy yet?” Discord asked, giving Night a nuggie.

“Always. But, before we can start ruling, there are some very special ponies we have to get rid of,” Night said.

Discord face lit up and his son’s initiative.

“That’s my boy,” he said, giving him a pat on the back.

The two beings of chaos, father and son waited for the cover of night to slip into Canterlot undetected. With their combined power, Night and Discord easily dispatched any guards that got in their way as they made for the castle.

Discord quickly began to search the castle for his former lover, or at least, the mare she used to be. Following his father’s lead, Night soon found his way to Luna’s chambers, where the moon princess slept soundly. A small, wicked smile graced his lips as her smaller form began to be engulfed by pure darkness, until it choked her, squeezing the life from her body, till finally, she was laid to rest for eternity. Night had no way of knowing, but he had just happily slain his own mother.

While Night was with Luna, Discord went ahead and infiltrated Celestia’s quarters, slipping past the guards through the stained glass windows.

Ever the prankster, Discord decided to imprison Celestia in stone, like she had done to him for so many centuries. When the dawn broke upon the next day, it belonged to chaos, and chaos alone. The scion of the sun was nothing but a stature, set on display in Canterlot’s town square.

When ponies rose on that day, they saw what chaos had wrought, and the end of harmony, brought about by Discord and Night Wolfe, father and son of chaos.

To greet the new day, and the dawn of an age of chaos, Discord went to the balcony of the castle to look upon his new subjects.

“It looks like we’re in for a huge storm of chaos,” Night said, walking to join his father.

Discord looked at his son, and soon his contented face was replaced by a mask of surprise. His head tilted ever so slightly as he scrutinized the new image on his son’s flank.

Night followed his father’s gaze and stared in wonder at his brand new cutie mark.

“Ah yes, the symbol of half-life. Having the lives of the ponies below in your hooves, and causing stress and imbalance among those foolish enough to rise up against their new rulers,” The king of chaos said, deciphering the meaning of the mark.

Night fit perfectly into his new home, being at the seat of power in a new world of chaos. A world that was already descending deeper into glorious chaos every second.

Discord let out a soft chuckle, one that grew into a booming roar of laughter that threatened to spill out of the castle and drown the world in its rolling sound. Night soon joined his voice to his father’s, causing the sky itself to seem like a prison of chaotic glee to the ponies below.

Discords thunderous laughter eventually waned.

“Soon, this whole world will be ours,” He said, letting the last of his laughter out.

He smiled as he saw his son looking down on the others. He could feel his son’s power growing by the second. But something niggled at the back of his mind.

He looked up and saw what was troubling him, his pink clouds had turned a dark grey, almost black.

“What’s your name?” Discord asked his son, taking his gaze off the dark clouds.

“Night Wolfe. Celestia gave it to me,” Night replied, looking up at his father.

“Night, did you happen to change any of my clouds?” the draconequus asked, raising an eyebrow.

A confused look crossed Night’s features as he looked up to the sky and saw the inky, pink tinged clouds. This only served to deepen his confusion. Whenever it rained, the only color he’d seen in clouds would be grey, otherwise they were puffy and white.

“No father, I didn’t do anything to the clouds,” Night said, almost apologetically. The smile Discord gave him only made him more confused.

“Well, this is definitely a new one,” He mused as he walked to the balcony’s edge. He cleared his throat as he began to speak.

“Listen up everypony, I’ve got an announcement to make.” He gave everypony a second to give him their attention before continuing.

“I’d like to introduce you to my right paw pony and son, Night Wolfe!”

Night walked to the edge of the balcony and looked down at the bowing ponies.Night felt that is was wrong for them to be bowing to him. Yes, he may be ruling now, but he grew up around some of the ponies that were now bending knee to him.

Later, it would come to light that Night hated bowing, but he would never tell his father that, for both their sakes.
Likewise, Discord knew that Night had killed his mother, but withheld the information a secret from his son.

Discord could sense Night’s heart sink, his darkness coming over him. But it didn’t overcome him; something held it back, stopping it from showing. This interested Discord. He even entertained the idea that Night might overthrow him, but quickly brushed it away, despite the fact that if Night did turn evil, he could very well turn on Discord himself.

Chapter 2

A new life P.1

Night has just woken up on the new day and when he walked out of his room there was a note hung on the backside of the door. The note read.

Dear Night,

Please come to the western wing bedroom.

Your father,

Discord.

Night was fixing to enter his new room when he was stopped. When he tried to open the door to his new room it wouldn't move. Night confusing looked through the lock and saw a couple guards and Discord standing in the room. Discord snapped his fingers and Night had to turn around before being blinded. He turned back after the light subsided and he could see in his new room a whole wall of books. It was just a few days till Hearth Warming eve, so Discord must have just spawned Night some new books as a present.

“Good work boys,” Discord said as the magic lock dissipated. “I hope Night loves it,” Discord pushed the door open a little too hard. The door hit Night and Night flew back about three feet. Night felt like a train had just ran him over. The two guards ran out of the room, but not before seeing Night holding his muzzle, he was about three feet from where he was standing.

“S-sorry sir are you ok,” One of the guards asked. Night stood up and shook it off. He saw how both of the guards were bat ponies. Discord has just exited the room looking down both of the halls.

“Now where did those blasted guards go?!” Discord yelled. With the two 'gods' dead most of the guards feared Discord and Night. Some of the guards liked Night better, that's just because he reminded them of Luna. Both guards looked up and it was Discord standing behind them.

“Well-well-well. What do we have here?” Discord said as he bent down to get a closer look at Night. Night was still young, for being almost a thousand years old. He was just a bit bigger then Luna, but was still small. Many ponies thought of him as a stallion, but Night and Discord both knew that they were wrong. Night had still much to learn, hell Discord would still call him a colt. Night knew this and could care less, hell he could care less for anypony.

“Uh... Sir we are,” The guards were stopped.

“I'm fine, just be careful whenever you open a fucking door,” Night said as he shooed the guards off.

“Well, happy Hearth warming eve. I'll be off to cause some more chaos, I hope you like it,” Discord said before poofing into thin air.

Night looked around to make sure nopony was looking. He rushed in and locked door, he made sure it was shut by putting all his weight behind it. As Night turned back around he saw a fully remodeled room. It took Night a few seconds before he could take in all that Discord has done. Night had a new bed; it was bigger than his old one. On the back wall facing his new bed there was a wall full of new books. On the wall to the left of his bed there was a window and a desk and on the right wall was a mirror. Night took a look in it; he did a full 360 still shocked at how his cutie mark showed up when Discord took over.

Night took a look outside and saw a flying bunny, he just shook his head. Night felt that Discord shouldn't be doing this so close to hearth warming eve, he may not care for others, but come on the holidays are so close. On the desk there was a notepad and some ink. Night sat down and began to write. On the pad it read.

Well here I am ruling beside my father. Still getting use to the whole 'royalty' thing, but some pony has to keep my father in check. So much stuff to learn about chaotic magic, hell I can already hide in the shadows. I think that's the only thing got from my mother. Sadly I can't do it for long, when I would do it most of my magic is drained, but with Discord free I can do it for longer, but not much longer. I could probably hide for about 10 minutes now.

Night stopped, he could feel his heart sink. He felt this when he killed Luna, something wasn't right. Night just pasted it off as a coincidence. Night went back to writing; he still had no idea who Luna was in a past life.

What is this feeling I keep getting whenever I think or hear Luna's name. Something is very wrong. Let me get off of this before I turn crazy. Most of the guards already know that bowing and I don't mix, but we came to this. If I'm with Discord then you bow, if I'm alone, don't. This new cutie mark is interesting; it means I 'cut' other ponies life in half with my words, cool I think. I'm still learning what all this means. A cutie mark that means my words hurt others, cool. I wonder how I got this, oh right I'm the son of Discord. He can use his words to brain wash anypony, I wonder what I can do?

Night put the quill down and posted the note on the wall. Night looked about outside and saw chocolate rain, when he looked up sure enough the clouds were dark-blue. He smiled at this; it showed he had some say in what Discord did. He saw Discord sitting under a few trees in a swing. Discord looked up and smiled, he saw Night staring down at the ponies running trying to find cover. Night chuckled and turned back to his bed.

On it was a book he didn't see when he came in. When he picked it up there was a knock at the door.

“Uh...Who is it,” Night asked as he sat the book down.

“Lunch time Master Night.” The voice was that of one of the waiters. Night opened the door and saw three apples and some water. To him 'master' was a bit too much, but at the moment all he had on his mind was that book. Night gladly picked up the tray and gave the waiter a gold coin. As Night sat the tray down on his desk he turned back to the book and saw the title that read Chaotic Magic: written by Star Swirl. Night has heard of Star Swirl before, but never has he read a book by him.

When he opened it dust flew out of it, he caught himself coughing a bit. Night sat there for a good few hours or so reading the book, he was so lost at some of the spells in this old book, he forgot to eat. To Night all this magic was new or just to hard even for him to understand. He maybe good at magic, but this was a whole new magic. Night jumped at a knock at the door. Night put the book on his desk to read later.

“Who is it?” Night asked as he opened the door from across the room. There stood the two guards from earlier. Night could see in the eyes of one something was wrong.

“Master Night, Discord wishes to see you,” One of the guards said, shaking in pure fear. Most guards knew better to bother Night in his room.

“Um…Ok.” Night said before the guards froze up. “That's right you two are new, well you don't have to be so strict with just me standing here, just when I'm with Discord,”

The guards relaxed and walked Night down to the dining room. Night looked up at a clock and saw it read 6:38 pm. As the three entered everypony bowed, Night looked at Discord who spawned a seat for his son. Night took the seat as a tray was sat in front of him. On the tray there was a sandwich and a glass of chocolate milk.

“You called me?” Night asked as Discord ate some of his sandwich. Discord looked up and turned to the window looking outside; he saw how the rain has stopped.

“Yes I did. I have a question for you Night,” Discord paused. He looked at Night, the two locked eyes. “How do you like you new life,” Discord finished.

“Well we have only lived like this for two days so it's kind of hard to say.” Night replied. Discord looked down, what he was about to say would tell him about Discord's past. Discord hoped Night would learn this before, but by the looks of thing he hasn't.

“Night, I ruled this land along time ago,” Discord said choking. Night face went from a happy one to a shocked one. Celestia never said any of this.

“Father, you ruled before Celestia and Luna? WOW the history books have lied to me,” Night replied, laughing just a bit. Discord finished his meal and was just about to finish this little chat.

“Yes Night, I ruled before that little...URG.” Discord stopped himself. He snaked over to Night and finished. “Before those alicorns came and took my rule from me, I ruled,” Night face lite up, Discord was confused.

“Not all alicorns are good are they?” Night asked jokingly. Night turned to his father, who shot up in the air and looked down.

“Um....You're right. Night Wolfe, you’re the first 'bad' alicorn, but for an alicorn you're under power compared to others,” Discord said making a note in his mind to change the history books.

“Well where I'm weak in magic I make up in my use of words,” Night replied to Discord's comment.

The two chaotic beings went to the hallway that split into east and west. Night went west and Discord went east. When Night got to his room the two guards were standing there, Night was confused even more, he turned back to Discord.

“Father!” Night yelled. “What's with these two?” Night turned back and saw the chest plates on them that had his cutie mark on it.

“Oh those two, I made then your guards, private guards,” Discord replied before shutting his door.

“Hum, so you two are my private guards then. I wouldn't think of the two noobs to be my guards.” Night said as he opened his door and walked in. Night chaotic powers were showing through. Night may not be strong in magic, but where he is weak in magic he makes up in his use of words.

Night was thinking about reading more of that book, but it gave him a headache just thinking about it. He walked up the windows and saw how Discord was setting the sun; with Celestia gone Discord did all the 'big' magic. He knew that Night was nowhere near powerful enough to do all of this. Night looked down and saw the bat ponies out and about. Night heart sank again, he had heard that the bat ponies were Luna's favorite type of guards; she was the god of the night.

Night laid down, trying to fall asleep, but this kept going around in his head, before he did fall asleep he made a note to go through the books and try to find out what's up with all of this. In Discord's room which was Celestia's room there was a whole new layout. He made the room darker and had his own desk. He had his own guards like Night, but they were bigger.

“I hope Night never figures out about Luna,” Discord said as he lay down.

Discord's bed was just a little too small, but Discord fixed that fast. With a snap of his fingers the bed became longer. Discord thought about how hard it must be for Night to live a whole new life. Night moved from the Everfree Forest, living on his own and working hard.

The guards stood outside of Night's room talking about different things.

“You know maybe being Night's guards won't be all bad.” One of the guards said, He turn to the door and looked in and saw a sleeping alicorn.

“Is he asleep?” The other asked.

“Yea, he is. By the way what is your name? I never got it,” The other asked as he turned back to the other one.

“Name's Armored Oath,” Armored replied. “Now what's yours?”

“My name is Shining Light, nice to meet you. Sadly it had to be here protecting the so call 'son of Discord'.” Shining said putting more thought into the way he said 'son'.

“Shut up would you; he is the son of Discord.” Armored whispered to Shining. Shining face showed armored that Shining as new to this. Shining turned back to the door and saw a light turn on, both turned to the door, waiting for Night to step out.

Night stepped out and saw the two guards standing almost frozen. It was almost 2:30 am, Night just shook his head and walked to the bathroom. Night needed to get the thought of Luna out of his head. When he got to the bathroom he walked up to the sink and washed his face off. When he got back to his room the guards were still standing frozen.

“Will you two chill out?” Night asked as he stopped half way through the door.

“S-s-s sorry sir, it won't happen again,” Armored Oath replied to the alicorn's question.

“Better not and what's your names?” Night asked turning to the batpony who didn't speak.

“S-s-shining Light,” Shining spoke, Night had good hearing for being a thousand years old.

“Armored Oath,” Armored was more open with Night, he knew Night wasn't as bad as others thought he was. He also knew for an alicorn Night was underpowered. He heard he could hide in the shadows and spy, but for only about 10 minutes.

Night nodded his head and walk in, he sat on the window seal and thought a moment. His mind pondered what to do tomorrow, in a few days Hearth warming eve will be here, he need to get his dad a gift. Night thought of just sleeping on this and when he would wake up he could try to find the perfect gift for the god of chaos.

“OW! What was that for?” Shining asked as he looked back to Armored, who has just punched him.

“Night isn't all that bad. Yes, he killed Luna, but remember who his father is.” Armored was fast to get that out of his mouth. He made sure Night was still sleeping. In Armored mind he thought about something, when he saw Night bend down or walk just right his shoulder blades would stick out.

“Shining have you noticed something?” Armored asked.

“Like what all of Canterlot and Ponyville have been turned into pure chaos.” Shining said with a smart tone in his voice. With that he got a nice slap across the face, Armored didn't like 'smart' people.

“No, His shoulder blades, they stick out when ever he walks. Hell I've heard someponies are too scared just to see him walk in town.” Armored finished. It was true if Night walked just right his shoulder blades would poke up and look like they were going to cut through his skin.

“Hum, you're right, I could care less,” Shining replied. At that moment the door opened and Night peeked out.

“You two go get some rest I think you need it and shut up about my shoulders,” Night slammed the door and the two guards when to their rooms.

“There is nothing wrong with pointy shoulders, if anything it helped me walk through town.” Night whispered to himself before laying back down. Still in his mind he thought of what to get Discord for Hearths warming eve. Night was thinking about how a practice dummy would work, so he could try all his magic on that instead of other ponies.

Chapter 3

A new life P.2

Night wasn't the only pony whose life has changed. Dark Gold, a pony who owned one of the biggest jewelry shops in Canterlot. Dark was a unicorn who was very good at magic, his shop was always full, till Discord took rule. Dark had it all but then he lost it all thanks to Night scaring away most of his customers, he has never seen Night before. He heard Night was very good at magic, how wrong he was. Dark’s life has gone down the drain, but all of that was about to change. That one afternoon was about to change his look on both Night and Discord.

Dark was about four foot, seven inches. He was a black unicorn with a reddish muzzle and a black and yellow mane. He always wore a cross necklace. He was very friendly and knew most of his customers. Many ponies loved his shop, because it was always full of new stuff.

“Great a new day, time to open the shop and see nopony at all,” Dark sadly said as he open the door. The shop was so dusty and nopony dared go out cause of Night walking around town.

Dark has just gotten to the back of his shop and heard the bell on his door ring, telling him someone was at the door.

A voice rang out in the shop. “Hello, is anypony here?”

Dark called back to the voice. “I'm in the back room; please give me a sec,”

As Dark exited the room he had three boxes in front of him so he couldn't see that Night has entered the shop.

“Ok let me set these boxes down and I can help you,” Dark said as he finally sat the boxes down and turn back to the counter.

“Ok then what can I get you s-s-s-s-s sir,” Dark stopped when he saw who was standing at his counter. He looked behind Night and rubbed his eyes.

“Uh...are you ok?” Night asked as he looked behind him to see who as there, but nopony was there.

“I'm fine, what can I get you, sir?” Dark finally relaxed and stepped out from behind the counter. Dark took a long look at Night. He saw how big he was compared to anypony other than Celestia. He saw his cutie mark and confusion wrote on his face.

“What's your cutie mark, sir?” Dark asked as he took Night to a display case.

“Oh that, it means my words 'cut' other ponies life in half. I'm still trying to figure it out,” Night spoke, he was still a little sleepy from last night.

“Uh…cool,” Dark was still scared of Night.

Night looked around and saw something he liked. It was a necklace that Luna has worn before, but sold it before Discord broke free.

“How much for that necklace?” Night asked has he lifted the glass at picked it up with his magic.

Dark's mouth hung open just a bit, shockingly to how Night magic was a dark-blue almost black. Yes Dark's magic was almost the same color, but Night was about two shades darker then his. Night picked up the necklace and tried it on and it was just a little too big.

“Um sir, can you fit this to me, and I'll buy it,” Night laughed a bit because of the size of the necklace.

“Yes sir, right away,” Dark took the necklace and moved to his back room.

As Dark was fixing the necklace, Night was looking around the shop. Something caught Night's eye, he moved over to the counter and saw a book. When he opened it he turn to the page that had the date before Discord broke free on it the first thing written said that Luna had sold a necklace to the shop. He took a at the description as he read over in his mind he kept thinking 'No this can't be, but maybe it just a coincidence'. Dark came back into the room and saw Night looking in the book.

“You do know this necklace was owned by Luna...right?” Dark spoke, Night jumped at this. Night looked back to Dark who rang up the necklace and put it in a box.

“So, who will this be for?” Dark asked as Night laid out 50 gold coins. “Sir this is too much, I can't” He was stopped.

“Just take the money I know how hard it must be,” Night replied. “And you don't have to box it. It's for me and I'll wear it out if you don't mind,”

“Um…ok then,” Dark said as he took the money and gave Night his necklace. “Thank you and may you come again!”

Night was fixing to exit the shop when he saw Armored walking to the shop. Armored saw Night and walked up, he saw Night wearing the same necklace Luna wore.

“Ah Night, there you are. Discord sent me to find you. He was worried about you not coming to the throne room this morning,” Armored finished. Night looked at him, by the looks of thing he had been running. It was about noon when Night returned back to the palace. As Night was fixing to enter he stopped, he turn around to Armored.

“Fuck, Armored if I give you some coins can you go get a practice dummy. It's for my father's present,” Night said as he gave the money to Armored. He trusted Armored more then any other guard, cause he was one of the few who liked Night.

“Sure thing and right away sir,” Armored replied and left.

“Night, there you are. Where were you this morning?” Discord said right before Night entered his room. Discord notices his necklace, but couldn't help but know that the necklace was Luna's. Discord mind went black, he knew if Night found out there would be no chaos there would be order. Yes if Night turned discorded he would want order and not chaos.

“I went to the jewelry shop and the owner was very nice. He gave me this,” Night replied. He saw in Discord eyes something was wrong. Discord knew Night could tell something was wrong.

“Discord what's wrong?” Night asked, this was the first time he said his father's name while talking to him.

“Nothing's wrong nothing at all,” Discord said. His eyes started spinning, but sadly to no use. Discord or Night didn't know that anything cause by the other one would work on the other. Night looked confused at first, but all that went away once he knew what Discord tried to do.

“FATHER!” Night screamed. His heart was hotter than hell, he couldn't believe Discord tried to brainwash him. “What are you trying to do...were you trying to brainwash me?”

“Son, no I'm sor” Discord was stopped. Discord could see in Night's eyes a furnace hotter then hell. Discord knew what he did as wrong, but he didn't want Night to know about the necklace. He heard from passing ponies while he was in stone that Luna had just sold a necklace to a shop. He tried to make Night forget about the necklace and who it was owned by.

“NO! Sorry won't cut it. I can't believe you tried to turn me,” Night said as he turned to his room. Right before he entered he turns back. “I hope I never see you again!”

Discord heart sank, this was his own son.

“Son, I'm” The slamming door stopped Discord. Discord may have never done this, but this was his son...his only son.

Discord was walking to his room when a guard passed by, the guard was Armored who had his present in hoof. It took Armored about five minutes to get Discord to turn around, but when he did he just shooed Armored off. Armored thought about talking to Discord, but Shining was standing outside Night's room.

“Hi Shining, is something wrong with Discord?” Armored asked as he knocked on the door. Shining stopped him before the second knock and pushed him back.

“Wait Discord is feeling blue?” Shining asked once Armored stopped and backed off from the door.

“Yep, wait don't tell me, Night is too isn’t he?” Armored ask as he sat the dummy down.

“Sadly yes, something happen and the two are mad an one another,” Shining said as Night opened the door and grab the dummy. Night was going to give to Discord, but not right now.

“Ok then, that was weird,” Both said at the same time.

Later that afternoon

“I need help, but whom,” Discord thought as he paced back and forth making a trench in the floor. It then hit him, there's only on unicorn that could help and that somepony was the same one that ran the jewelry store. Discord had heard that Dark was a very good magic user. Discord thought that Dark could teach Night some new magic and help him keep Night and himself in check. With this in mind Discord snapped his fingers and he vanished.

Back in Dark's shop he was getting ready to lock up and go home, but a bright flash stopped all of that. Dark turn to where the flash came from and he drop everything, standing in front of him was something he thought he would never see before, Discord. Dark eyes grew wide as Discord stood up from where he teleported. Dark could have guess that Discord was about seven foot tall. He heard about the different animal’s parts, but too him it was a big shock that Discord was really standing in front of him.

“ARG!” Discord screamed. Discord normal won't teleport if he had too, but it was getting dark and he had to move fast.

“D-d-d-d-discord!” Dark yelled, but found that it was useless. Dark started to run but sadly Discord just snapped his fingers and Dark stopped right in his tracks.

“Let me go, I have nothing you want!” Dark yelled. Discord snaked over and circled around Dark. Discord flew above Dark who just kept his eyes shut. Discord knew Dark was scared of him, so he used this to get Dark to listen to him.

“Please don't try to escape, I want hurt you,” Discord said as he floated down to Dark who still had his eyes shut. Discord saw his eyes shut and had to think of a different way to get to Dark. Discord looked over at the counter and saw a note. Discord snaked over to the counter and read the note.

Dark opened his eyes and saw Discord standing at the counter, reading the notice.

“HI! That's mine business,” Dark commented. “What are you doing here anyways?”

Dark tried moving but couldn't, Discord saw this and release his magical grip on Dark. Dark dropped to the ground and stood up. Discord turn around holding the note.

“Money problems?” Discord asked as he teleported to Dark and floated next to him.

“Yes, but why are you here I have nothing for you,” Dark said.

“Oh I think you do,” Discord replied. Dark turned to Discord. Discord had change forms; his new form was Night's. Dark jumped back at this, he had no idea that Discord could change forms.

“Did this alicorn come into your shop early today?” Discord asked, he knew the answer he just wants to make sure Dark knew what he was talking about.

“Yes,” Dark answered.

“Did he buy a necklace that belonged to Luna?” Discord asked, he knew this could go on forever.

“Yes, why did you want it?” Dark asked.

Discord changed so fast it made Dark's head spin a bit. Discord got so close Dark shrunk. Dark could see a burning fire in Discord eyes.

“You do know the thing between Night and Luna right?” Discord asked. Discord backed off a bit and coiled up and sat down.

“No, what is it?” Dark asked, hell he didn't believe that Discord was Night's father.

“Luna was Night's mother, more or less it was Nightmare Moon who gave birth to Night,” Discord said.

Dark face said it all, he was shocked.

“So wait Nightmare Moon is his mother. That's why he left in a hurry” Dark replied as he looked down.

“So wait are you his father?” Dark asked. As he said that Discord snaked over to him.

“Yes, let me guess, you didn't believe me when I showed everypony Night did you?” Discord asked, he wanted this to end and tell Dark what he is here for.

“Yes, sir,” Dark replied. Dark moved over to the counter and looked back to Discord. “So why are you here, answer me,”

“If I did you won't like it,” Discord said. He snaked back over to Dark and floated behind him. Dark was really getting creep out by Discord.

“Just tell me!” Dark was getting aggravated, he was ready to go home and get all of this out of his mind.

“I need help believe it or not. That necklace was owned by Luna and I don't want Night to know that he killed his own mother,” Discord started, Dark caught interest in this, Discord an all-powerful god needed help.

“Ok again why are you here?” Dark asked.

“So impatient,” Discord said shaking his head. “I tried to make Night forget about the necklace and he thought I was brainwashing him,”

“I need you to help me. I need somepony to look after Night and keep an eye on me, I don't want this to happen again,” Discord said as he stood up and bent down into Dark's face.

“Let me guess, it's me. If it is what's in it for me?” Dark commented, he backed off a bit.

“You're fast, I'll tell you what you can live with me and Night. You can sorta be my new student and help teach Night some new magic, he's not very good,” Discord finished, Dark's eyes grew wide.

“What!” Dark yelled and backed off. “You're joking right?”

“Well unless you want to starve and have no home, I would come with me if I were you,” Discord spoke. Discord was right, Dark's shop was going out of business, with nopony coming to buy something he had no money to pay for the shop. Even all that money Night gave him wasn't enough.

“I don't know, how can I trust you?” Dark asked, he was right how can anypony trust the god of chaos?

“My son and I had an argument before I came here, I don't think I could lie right now.” Discord replied. “Beside you get to live with the new ruler and his son, what more could you want?”

“Fine, but I will rebel if you had just lied to me,” Dark said. Discord smiled and teleported them both to the dining room of the castle. Armored jumped at this, he was passing through the dinning room to get to the throne room to see if Discord was there.

“Ah Armored, meet” Discord was stopped.

“Discord, Night has disappeared!” Armored looked down as he said that. It was about an hour after the argument that Night had vanished.

“WHAT!” Discord screamed, he couldn't believe his ears. Discord knew this was all his fault, he should have told Night about Luna and Nightmare moon.

“Fuck, I should have told him about Luna, this is all my fault,” Discord cried. “Did he leave a note or something?”

“Yes, he left you a present,” Armored replied.

“I don't care where is Night!” Discord screamed again.

“We don't know, he just....left, he's not in his room and no guard saw him leave,” Armored replied.

“We must find him,” Discord turned, it wasn't him who said that it was Dark.

While the group was out trying to find Night, Night was walking into the Everfree forest. Night was so mad, but also sad, he couldn't believe he yelled at his own father. The only way he got out of his room without being spotted was to hide in the shadow, but sadly this came at a price. Night use all of his energy to get out that he had no magical power left. It was only a day till Hearth Warming eve, so Cloudsdale called in for a snow storm and Night got stuck in it.

Night had no cloth or anything to keep him warm and he couldn't fly do to the cold. Night only had one place he could go, his old home. It took Night about ten minutes to finally get back to his old home. When he walked in the first place he went was the fireplace. He tried to light the fire with his horn, but to no avail. Night had no magic in him, he thought about the matches in his nightstand and hoped they still worked after all this time.

Discord looked everywhere in Canterlot, but nopony knew where Night was. Finally Dark came up with an idea.

“Discord, didn't Night have a different home?” Dark finally spoke after what all that happen.

It took Discord a few seconds to finally speak. “Right the...Everfree Forest,”

“Wow, Night sure did have a life. He lived in the Everfree Forest,” Dark replied, right as soon he finished it started snowing. Dark, Armored and Discord looked up and frowned.

“I think the only way Night could get out without being seen is...hiding in the shadows. He got that power from Nightmare and is the only magic he's going to use to get out, well besides normal magic,” Discord said as they started their walk to the Everfree Forest.

After three matches the fire finally lite. Night wasn't cold, but the house had no gas going to it and no power so thank god he had this fireplace. Night went to his old cabinet and found an old can of soup. It flipped it over and read the date, thankfully it was still good. Night opened it with a manual can opener and put it in a pot. Again with no gas for cooking he put it near the fire and let it heat up.

“Discord, please tell me you can fly over this forest and find the house,” Dark commented. Discord looked down and looked back up shaking his head.

“With this snow I would freeze in the air,” Discord replied, Armored was ready to go through the forest, but Dark wasn't.

“Yea I think I'll..URG” Dark was stopped. Armored grab him a pulled him while Discord and Armored tried to find Night's old home. After about 20 minutes of walking Discord could see a light.

Night was just about to start to eat the soup, which to him made his day. Night hadn't eaten all day and was very hungry. Night was about halfway through his soup when there was a knock at the door. Night jumped at this, who would be out here in this snow? Night got up and opened the door, there stood the shop owner, Armored, and a sadden draconequus.

Night aloud Dark and Armored to entered, but stopped Discord.

“Tell me one reason I should let you in and not make you stay out here in this cold,” Night commented. Dark turned back, he now saw what Discord meant.

“Night let him in, he has something he has to say,” Dark said. Armored was near the fire getting warm.

“Son, I'm sorry for early, it just.....I wanted that necklace,” Discord spat out. Dark facehoofed, he knew what Discord should have said.

“Well I'll let you in, but you're on thin ice,” Night said as Discord entered the house. Dark walked over to Discord.

“What are you trying to do?” Dark whispered. “If Night finds out you're doomed,”

“It's better from him to find out, than it is for me to tell him,” Discord replied.

Discord looked around, Night old home has been left for just a few days and it's already dusty. Discord knew Night probably didn't want to stay.

“How about we all go home, Dark, I got the perfect room for you,” Discord commented and the room was Night's old room when he first took over. Night looked at Discord, 'what was he talking about' Night thought.

“Discord, what do you mean?” Night asked as he took a seat.

After about an hour of explaining things to Night, Discord finally teleported everypony back to the castle. Back in the castle Night went straight to his room, he was still mad at Discord. Discord showed Dark to his new room, it wasn't much but was enough for Dark.

“So this is where I will be staying,” Dark said as he opened the door and saw a very good looking room. Good size bed and almost everything Night had.

“You will start training Night in two days, good luck,” Discord said as he teleported to his room.

“He's a blank flank,” Discord said as he stepped into his room and saw the present Night got him. Discord smiled, at least Night still cared for him.

Back in Night's room, Night was fixing to lay down. He took off the necklace and laid it on his night stand, what would come to him in his sleep would change his whole life. Night normally didn't dream or just didn't remember them, this one he would and it wouldn't be the last.

In one of Night’s dream, Night was walking through a dark forest on a path, Night didn't care where he was going. Night jumped, something spread the leaves in front of him, but there was no wind. Night tried to light his horn, but to no good. Something or somepony was draining all the magic. Night kept walking for about ten more minutes and was stopped by a site he thought he would never see.

In front of Night was somepony who thought Night would turn to good not evil, that pony was Luna. Night stood there stiff and just kept his eyes trained on the once dead Luna, but how?

“Night, nice to see you,” She spoke, Night's ears twitched. She moved closer, Night couldn't back up. He couldn't move a leg at all.

“B-b-b-but you're dead,” Night stuttered. “How are you here and what do you want,”

“Yes, I am dead, but that necklace hold some of my magic, so that's why I am here,” Luna replied, she got even closer.

“What I want is to know....why,” Luna voice grew angrier. “Why did you kill me!?”

“Well....I had to make a good impression on Discord, so we could take over,” Night thought a minute, what does this mean?

“Night, did Discord tell you let?” Luna's voice grew softer.

“Tell me what?” Night asked, this is getting strange, 'and why can't I wake up' he thought.

“Ah...Discord why must you hide this soul and why not tell him the truth?” Luna spoke. “There will be a book on your nightstand when you wake up....read it,”

Back in the real world, Dark was fixing to lay down, but something kept him up. What will Discord do if Night found out about Luna? Dark finally fell asleep and everypony was. Discord was the only one up, he thought the same thing as Dark.

“It's best for him to find out,” Discord said as he fell asleep. Night had just gotten out of that nightmarish dream, but was still asleep. His necklace glowed bright, but then faded. That necklace did have some of Luna's magic in it. Night had just woken up and saw the necklace glow.

“What was that all about, how did...” Night stopped. “What does she mean, did Discord tell me what?” Night said and took the necklace and put on his desk far away from him. He looked outside and saw no bat ponies out; He wouldn't blame them it was almost 20 degrees outside.

Night finally went back to his bed and started falling back asleep, still scared about the whole thing with Luna, he looked back over on his nightstand and saw the book Luna was talking about.

“Next time I wake up I'm reading that,” He said to himself and fell asleep.

Chapter 4

The truth or a lie.

Night woke up slowly, he was still confused about what happened last night. “The truth?” Night thought as he finally got out of bed, fixed his mane and put on the necklace. He looked in the mirror and saw a tired alicorn, there was a knock at the door. Night slowly made his way over to the door and there stood Shining.

“Shining, what do you want?” Night asked. “If this is about Discord I'll handle it later,”

“Sadly it is, but he would like me to tell you he has some news about Dark,” Shining replied. He saw how Night looked drunk, little to his knowledge Night just had the worse night in his whole life.

“Fine, I'll be down there in a few minutes,” Night said and closed the door. He made sure everything was in order and then left for the throne room. He walked into the room and saw Discord and Dark sitting in the few chairs that were there. They had to bring in a new chair for Dark, surprisingly it was almost the same as Night's.

“Ah there's my favorite son,” Discord started. “We have a long day ahead of us today. Today is Hearth Warming eve,”

The shock on Night's face was the funniest Dark has ever seen in his life. Night had totally forgot that today was Hearth Warming eve.

“You forgot didn't you,” Dark spoke. “Well I have a very good present for you. I will be teaching you magic to help you with your magical abilities,”

Night shockingly responded with a simple nod of his head.

“Night, are you ok?” Discord asked looking strangely at Night.

“I'm fine just feel a little sick is all,” Night responded.

Discord looked at Dark and looked back and spoke to Night. “You can have a day off, go back to sleep,”

“Fine, just make sure nopony bothers me,” Night said as he left for his room. As Night walked up he saw the two guards talking about different things. They didn't even see Night enter his room, all they heard was the slam of a door. Night jumped on his bed like a teenager coming home from school and stared at the wall with all the books. One of the spots was empty where the book on his desk would fit.

Night wanted to know what Luna was talking about when she said “Discord why must you hide this soul and why not tell him the truth”.

“Well only one way to know is to read that book, but I want more info before I do start to read it,” Night was speaking to himself. He knew this, but really when you're alone you would do it to. Night finally came to a conclusion, he would fall asleep and see if he can't talk to Luna. Soon enough Night was asleep waiting for Luna to come in his dream.

Later that day, Night got a nice visit from Luna. This time he was ready for her and made sure he knew everything possible. Like last time Night was walking, but instead of her walking, Luna was flying to him.

“Hello young Night,” She spoke. “Tell me did you read the book?”

“No, I haven't,” Night replied. “I want to know what you mean by “the truth.”

Luna looked at Night with a saddening look in her face. “You won't stop till you know you will you?”

“*sigh* Yea, I won’t stop till I know,” Night replied to the night god.

“Fine, lets fly and talk,” Luna said as she took off. Night took followed suit and soon caught up with Luna.

“So tell me,” Night said as Luna spawned the same book that was on his desk. “What’s so important in this book?”

Luna flipped to the page with her magic and gave it to Night who took it in his own magic. Night stopped in the air and began to read the page.

“No.....no, this is fake, no,” Night stated. “Luna, does this mean that.....you're my mother,”

Night floated down to the ground and this time Luna follow suit. “Night this is what Discord has been keeping from you this whole time!”

Night backed up from the now angered god. He tried to make himself wake up, but nothing would work.

“Why can't I wake up?” Night said to himself.

“I'm the goddess of dreams I can keep you here if I want,” Luna started. “Tell me what do you think of Discord now? He's been keeping this from you,”

“You're lying, Discord would never tell me a lie,” Night replied.

“He tried to make you forget about the necklace, he's always scared whenever you start talking about me. He's lying,” Luna commented.

“NO! My father would never do that,” Night shouted.

“Yea, keep thinking that. Why don't you asked him,” Luna said and then poofed into thin air. Night was still standing there in his dream, little to him in the real world about five hours had passed and Discord and Dark were starting to get worried.

“Why won't he wake up?' Dark said shaking Night. Discord was walking around Night's room and saw the necklace still glowing.

“Oh god no, don't tell me that....no,” Discord turned to Dark and held up the necklace. “Dark, I think Night is having a visitor,”

Dark took a look at the necklace and spoke. “Luna! Luna is in his dream, that's why he can't wake up,”

Discord or Dark didn't see Night wake up, but Discord saw the glow of the necklace dissipate.

“You got some explaining to do draconequus,” Discord and Dark turned and saw Night crossed hoofed. Dark left and closed the door, he wanted nothing with Discord and Night right now.

“Night, I have nothing to” Discord was stopped.

“Tell me why you have lied to me all of this time. Don't say you haven't, this book told me everything,” Night started. “Because of you I “happily” killed my mother,”

“Night, please I can explain, just let me please,” Discord said. He took a seat on the bed and looked at Night who was really peeved at him.

“Tell me one reason I shouldn't leave right now and go back to the Everfree Forest,” Night stated as he got up off the bed and went for the door.

“Night, please don't, I can't lose my only son,” Discord tried to stop Night, but failed.

“You know I was getting use to all of this, but now,” Night paused. “I don't have a father or a royally statue. Good by Discord,”

Night left and walked out of his home. Unknowingly tonight would be hard for both Discord and Night. Armored entered the room and saw Discord crying, he left right as soon Discord turned around.

“Wait Armored, send a search party for Night,” Discord said still crying.

Discord teleported into Dark's room and stood crossed armed. “You know you could have helped me,”

“Sorry I just didn't want to die and besides this is all your fault,” Dark said before picking up a book he was going to show to Night, but now it was useless. “You know you're not the best father,”

Discord hung his head low, for a father Discord wasn't the best in the world.

“I know, but right now we need to find Night,” Discord said as Armored and Shining told Discord they got a party ready.

As the party was out searching for Night, Night was walking in to a tavern. It was a tavern that was well known till Discord took over, but it was still making money. Night entered and took a seat at the main bar, this was one of a few popular taverns that didn't sell anything alcoholic. The bartender saw Night come in and got a menu ready for him.

“What can I get you today, anything you would like?” The bartender asked.

“Just anything to keep me from killing my father,” Night joked even though he was still mad.

“One chef salad and a glass of cola,” The tender called to the cook. “So....”

“Night, name's Night,” Night answer.

“Right, sorry just, I don't hear much about you and Discord. Most ponies are still trying to get use to the new rule,” The tender said. “By the way name's Mack,”

“Well how do you think I feel right now. Discord just lied to me and now he probably searching for me,” Night said as his dinner came out of the kitchen.

“Oh I forgot did you want anything on your salad, I won't cost you anything,” Mack said as he stopped the chief.

“Cheese, ranch, black olives, bacon bits, and some ham,” Night replied as the chief went back to the kitchen.

“Famished?” Mack asked as he sat down Night's drink and gave him a straw.

“It's what I normally eat on a salad, besides I've been sick all day,” Night said as he took a swallow from his drink.

“Oh....so what did happen between you and Discord and aren't you his son,” Mack asked as Night's salad floated out of the kitchen and landed in front of him.

“Do I have to say anything,” Night said as he started to eat his meal.

“What ever it is it's really getting to you, now tell me I won't tell anypony,” Mack said as he started to wipe the counter.

Night sat there and thought. “Should I tell him?”

Night finished his salad and payed. The cook came out and sat down with Mack.

“Now tell us, we could probably help you,” The cook said.

“*sigh* Ok then, let me start from the beginning. Nightmare was my mother, so when I killed Luna I killed my mother. Discord never told me, so when I did find out, I......what do you think I was mad. My own father lied to my and now I bet he's out searching for me,” Night said a tear forming on his face.

The two other ponies looked at each other and saw the alicorn crying. At that time one of the ponies sent out by Discord to find Night walked in and saw him.

“There you are master Night, we were so worried,” The guard said.

Night turned and the fire that showed early in his soul relite as the guard backed off. Night merged with the shadows and slipped past the guard.

“What the-” The guard turned around and saw Discord reach into the shadows and pulled out Night.

Discord pulled Night up and sat him back on the ground. Dark followed close behind and when he caught up he saw Night madder than hell. Night turned around, but was stopped when he saw a bubble form around him.

“Discord, what magic is this. I should just unfreeze Celestia and tell her to turn you back to stone,” Night said as more tears formed.

Discord saw the tears and walked up to Night, Dark was in the bubble and saw what Night was going through. Discord walked up and turned into Night, Dark felt so sick do to what was happening.

“Why Night, this is magic you could use in the future. Now tell me what do you see in this alicorn,” Discord said as Dark walked up and looked.

“I don't have” Night was stopped.

“Night, tell me now,” Discord stated before he started to walk around Night.

“All I see is an under powered alicorn whose father had lied to him one time too many,” Night said before closing his eyes.

“What do you think, has he grown any?” Discord asked Dark as he changed back to his normal form.

“I can't say I've only know him for two days. You really need to say sorry before he turns,” Dark said as he walked the edge of the bubble. “Are you going to teach him this?”

“This will be one a few spells I'll show him, you just need to make him stronger,” Discord started. “Night I don't what I can do, but I thought you would grow stronger if you knew the truth. I will never lie to you again and I'm VERY sorry,”

Night stood there for a good minute thinking what he should do, should he let all of this go, but still have Discord on thin ice, or turn and free Celestia. Dark also thought about what he should do, should he stay or find another job.

“I’ve made up my mind, I’ll stay but one more fuck up and you’re doomed,” Night said as Discord ran up and hugged the alicorn. “If you have anything that you have lied to me about tell me now,”

“I have nothing, I just glad that my son forgives me. Dark come over here and join in the hug,” Discord said as he floated Dark over to the group. The next thing Night and Dark saw was a camera.

“Dis..Uh Father was are you going to-,” A flash of light stopped Night. “Really a group picture?”

“Yep, Dark you ready to start make Night stronger?” Discord asked.

“Ready as I’ll ever be, but I’m going to give Night a few days considering what happened today,” Dark replied as the picture popped out of the camera. Discord looked at the image and a smile grew on his face. Dark walked over and Discord showed him the picture.

“What are you two doing?” Night asked as he flew over to the unicorn and draconequus. Dark took the picture in his magic and showed it to Night. In the picture there was Night, Dark, Discord, and Nightmare Moon.

“Mother, my mother is standing there,” Night said as a tear formed on his face. “Discord do you think I could become as powerful as my mother?”

“I don’t know, but I think your mother would be very happy to see you,” Discord said and with a snap of his claw and the bubble disappeared. “Now who's hungry, we are right next to the most popular tavern,”

“I am, me too, same here,” Shining, Armored, and Dark said as they entered the tavern. Discord followed close behind with Night in tow.

“Hi Mack, One round of cola and anything these guys want, all on me,” Night said. Deep inside he still hated Discord for what he did, but it was Hearth Warming eve, so why stay mad.

“Father, how did you and Nightmare meet?” Night asked as he took a seat beside Shining, who moved over a seat away. “Ah, come on I’m not mad at you,”

“Well that’s a long story so you better be ready,” Discord told them about the time in limbo after Celestia defeated both of them. About half way through their dinners came out and everypony sat down to eat. Dark had a some chicken soup, Shining and Armored splitted a sub and Discord had a whole 12 foot sub. Night had already ate and just sat there laughing after seeing Discord trying to eat the sub whole.

“Well I see everypony had ate so why don’t we go home before it gets to colder,” Dark said as he hopped off of his chair and walked over to Night. “How you feeling?”

Night turned to Dark and spoke. “I’m fine, I’m just mad at Discord,”

“Well everypony gather around for the teleport,” Discord stated.

Night stood up and walked over where Mack was at and gave him a bag that held 70 gold coins.

“No I can’t-” Mack was stopped.

“Just take it, but I do need to stop, but good luck with the tavern,” Night said as he joined everypony.

“Ready?” Discord asked, everypony shook their heads yes. Surprisingly Night and Discord said one thing before teleporting.

“MAY CHAOS RULE!” A poof of smoke appeared and left in the spot where they stood was just air.

In the throne room there was a problem somepony just stole both crowns. Every guard was on the look out and when they saw a bright flash they all pointed their spears at it.

“FREEZE!” One of the guard shouted as the smoke cleared.

“What the fuck are you guys doing?” Night asked as he stepped out of the smoke. The guards saw Night standing there lowered their spears.

“Sorry sir. We just found out that the royal crowns have been stolen,” The guard said before standing at attention. Night turned around and saw Discord and Dark having the same problem.

“What? What do you mean the crowns were stolen!?” Discord asked as he told Dark to go ahead to bed. “Night I hope you don’t mind staying up tonight and help guard the place,”

“No problem I am the son of Nightmare. I’m ready to cause anypony's life hell,” Night said s he flew up to the top floor and looked down. “I’ll stay on the top floors and you can stay down there,”

“That my good o’ son. Good luck!” Discord called as Night left for his room to check there first. Discord and Night looked for a good two hours, but no sign of anything.

Every converged in the dining room to report anything. Everypony took a seat, they looked around at one another.

“Any luck?” Discord asked.

“No sir,” One of the guard said. Discord turned to Night who had his head hung low.

“Night, what about you, did you find anything?’ Discord asked.

“No, but my room is a mess, everything is out of place,” Night replied and left to get his room in order. Discord saw how saddened Night was so to make it up to him he snapped his claw and when Night entered his room everything was in its place.

“Thanks Discord or father,” Night said to himself as he hopped on his bed falling asleep. “But if you think this will have me forgive, HA, you’re so wrong.

Chapter 5

A new foe

“Come on Night, yea that’s it,” Dark said as Night blasted the dummy with a magical blast. Night fell a bit, he was still weak.

“Darnit!” Night yelled as he got up and tried again, but this time it backfired. Discord walked into the training grounds at that time and saw Night trying to stand up.

“Night, take a break. Don’t use all your energy now, save it.” Discord said as he spawned three seats and some food. “And besides it’s lunch,”

Dark walked over to Night and helped him up. “You need to learn how to control your anger and use it to help you fight,”

Night and Dark took a seat at the table and grabbed a plate. Night grabbed some hamburgers, Dark ate some hot dogs, and Discord still had that 12 foot sub from yesterday. Shining ran into the room and scared Night, making him dropped his food.

“AH, COME ON!” Night yelled as he grabbed the other one on his plate.

Shining walked over to Discord and whispered something in his ear. After he left Discord stood up and began to speak. “Well we got a new foe, there was a letter at the door from...”

“From whom?” Night asked. Discord looked down.

“Sunset Shimmer, she was a pasted student of Celestia’s. She wants revenge, she said that she would give back my crown, but you’ll have to fight for yours,” Discord finally finished.

“Sunset Shimmer?” Dark asked, he zoned out during the conversation.

“A past student of Celestia. She want’s revenge on us, but for some odd reason she want’s to get rid of Night,” Discord replied as he snapped his fingers. Night fell to the ground, Discord had gotten rid of the table and chairs.

“A warning next time?” Night joked as he stood back up and went over to the door leading to the main hall.

“Sorry, but I am the god of chaos,” Discord laughed. “Anyways where are you going?’

“I’m going to study a bit of magic. I need to know as much as possible before I go up against Sunset,” Night said as he teleported up to his room.

“How much has Night grown?” Discord asked Dark as he stood up.

“First, that hurt. Second, he is growing, but not too fast where he’ll become too overpowered for his own mind and body,” Dark said as he teleported up to his room.

Discord stood there for a minute and asked. “Why am I always alone?”

As all of that was happening, Night was in his room and had about 20 books on his desk. Night keep flipping through the book, trying to find out how to control his anger and magical ability. Back in the throne room Discord was busy with some news reporters.

“You know I don’t have to put up with this. Shining keep them busy while I go and get Night,” Discord said as he teleported into Night’s room.

Night was flipping through his last book as a bright flash stopped him. he turned around in his chair a saw a scared chimera.

“*sigh* What is it father?” Night asked as he started to put the books away.

“News reporters, they want to talk with you. I told them you might won’t, but they kept asking me about you,” Discord stuttered. Night got off his chair and went to the door.

“I’ll talk with them, can you just clean my room?” Night joking asked as he left through the door. Night walk over to where the stage was and saw Shining running around, trying to answer questions the reporters kept throwing at him.

He teleported Shining over to him as the reporters looked around, confused.

“I’ll take it from here, but first I need a good opening. None of these reporter have seen me.” Night said as he looked around trying to find something. “Might be a bit overdone, but this will work,”

Night grabbed some cloth and threw it over him, hiding him. It flashed in his head, this reminded him of when he would go out before Discord broke free. He entered and all the reporters turned back to the mic stand. The reporters started to whisper among themselves as they wonder who the cloaked pony was.

“Who are you?” One of the front reported asked.

“Really, you guys have no idea who I am?” Night asked, standing closer to the microphone. All the reporters stood there waiting for something to happen.

“I swear you guys are dumb, you didn’t see me standing with Discord when we took over?” Night asked fixing to throw the cloth off of him.

“Well sir, most of us were in the Crystal Kingdom,” Most of the reporters said as the same time.

“Well let me fill you in,” Night said as he throw the cloth off of him. The reporters looked down at their pads and started to take notes.

“Sir, who are you and what are you doing living with Discord?” One of the reporters in the back asked. Some of the reporters that lived in Canterlot already knew about Night and had some questions about his reactions to Discord's lie.

“Some of you are so late. I am Night Wolfe, son of Discord and Nightmare Moon,” Night yelled over the reporters. Under his breath he said something “Sadly I’m not very powerful,”

“What was that sir?” One of the reporters asked.

“Nothing, now any questions?” Night asked as he jumped off the stage and started to walk through the crowd of reporters. He flew up to get a better view and a question popped in most reporters head. the stand hid his wing and all that could be seen was his horn.

“How does it feel to be the first “evil” alicorn?” They asked.

“It feels...good. An alicorn prince that’s the son of Discord, hell yea it feels good,” Night said as Discord came back into the room. “Ah father, these guys are so late it’s not even funny,”

“Yea, I know,” Discord stated before standing up towards the mic.

“As many know, my son is an alicorn. If any of one got a problem then leave now,” Discord yelled to make sure everypony heard. Everypony just froze, they knew Discord could do anything and make life harder then it was.

“Again, any questions?” Night asked as he landed beside Discord. “No? Good, now get out,”

All the reporters left and all that stood in the room was Night and Discord, they all turned with the sound of an opening door. There standing in the door was shining who looked terrified.

“What is it Shining?” Discord said as he looked over to Night who had already moved down to Shining.

D-D-D-Dark, he was founded passed out!” Shining blurted out.

“WHAT!” Night and Discord said at the same time. “What made him pass out?”

“A hard hit on the head by the looks of things and from what the doc said...He’ll be up and helping you in about three days,” Shining said.

“Oh thank god. Discord, I’ll go to my room and maybe see Dark,” night said as he flew up to the top floor.

“Wait Night, the doc said not to let any pony visit Dark,” Shining yelled to the alicorn. Night stood in his flight path and turned around.

“*sigh* Ok,” Night said as he turned back, heading for his room. “You know, sometimes I wonder Shining is here just to make me mad and I’m talking to myself again,”

Night entered his room and like yesterday he jumped on his bed like a teenager. he looked over to the bookshelf and saw Discord put everything up. Night looked up in his bed a saw a book that caught his eye, the book was soon surrounded by his black aura and lifted to him. Night flipped the book over and began to read the back of it.

The back of the book read, Reading body sign. How to and what they mean.

Night took a good long look at the book and flipped through a few pages.

‘Seem like an ok book’ He thought as he stood up in his bed and began to read. As Night was reading his little book, Armored and Shining were talking about the crowns and what they now think about the two chaotic beings.

“So do you think Night will win the fight if they do fight?” Shining asked Armored as he took a seat in front of him in the dining room. Armored didn’t reply, Shining knew that Armored hated Night, but why was the real question.

“I don’t know, I could care less. Tell the truth I hope Sunset wins,” Armored replied. Shining got up and walked over to Armored and slapped him. “OW! What the fuck. Can’t I speak my mind.

“Why do you hate Night? What is it you see him that I don’t?” Shining asked as he sat back down.

“HE KILLED LUNA!” Armored yelled making Shining fall back in his chair.

“Point, so what, maybe Celestia will break free and fix all of this, but why don’t I want Night to go. Why do I want Night to stay even if he’s just a prisoner?” Shining said standing up from his chair that fell back.

The two sat there, silence filled the room, before being broken by the flash of somepony teleporting in. The two guards got up and got ready to attack if it wasn’t somepony they knew.

“*Cought* Heck, man I need more practice,” Night said as he got up from where he teleported.

“It’s Night, stand down Armored!” Shining yelled over to Armored.

“Hello, I got a test for...you Armored you’ll be perfect,” Night said as a grinned formed on his face.
Armored started to back up from Night as he got closer, soon he got cornered. “W-w-w-what do you want sir,”

“N-N-Night are you ok?” Shining asked as he felt more terror fill every inch of his small body.

“Tell me do you ‘like’ me as the new ruler?” Night asked Armored. Armored knew that Night wasn’t the best at telling a lie from the truth.

“Why yes, I like you as the ruler,” Armored said standing up. Armored knew he just told a flat out lie, but he just didn’t like Night.

Night stood there for a minute taking a good long look at Armored, the next thing Armored knew he was against the wall in Night’s magical grasp. Armored tried to escape. but it didn’t work.

“Now why are you going to tell me a lie?” Night asked. Shining was still in the room, he looked more shocked than Armored.

‘I need to go get Discord,’ Shining thought and then ran for the new king. When Shining found Discord he was fixing to head for the kitchen.

“Discord! N-N-N-Night, he” He was stopped, Discord looked at him with a confused look on his face.

“What?” Discord asked as he grabbed some cola out of the cabinet.

“Just come look, they’re in the dining room,” Shining said. Discord teleported them to the room and when they got there Night was just fixing to let Armored go.

“Night, what are you doing?” Discord asked grabbing Night in a magical bond. Armored dropped to the ground and ran over to Shining.

“Doing a test, you see I was reading this book about how to read body signs to see if somepony is telling the truth or not, so I tried it on Armored,” Night said with a smile on his face. “Sorry Armored!”

“Shining, this is what you were frighten of?” Discord asked as he let Night go. “Night, will talk more about this tomorrow,”

“K, see you later,” Night said as he teleported into his room and laid down in his bed going asleep.

“Let me guess you lied to Night about something,” Discord asked the two guards.

“Yea, please don’t kill me!” Armored yelled.

“Now why would I do that, you’re helping my son,” Discord said before teleporting to his room.

“I gonna have to talk to you,” Shining said to Armored before leaving.

Chapter 6

Looks like Nightmare P.1

It’s been three days sense Sunset Shimmer had stolen Night’s crown, but that wasn’t on Night’s mind he was hoping Dark would wake up.

KNOCKKNOCKKNOCK

“AHH!” Night yelled as he fell out of his bed. “Who the fuck is there?!”

Night got up and before he could start to walk over to the door he was stopped by a bright flash of light. Instead of shielding himself from the flash, Night got blinded for a few seconds and when he could see again he saw Discord standing there. Discord saw Night walking around like he was really drunk.

“Night, what is with you and looking drunk?” Discord said chuckling.

“Ha,ha, so funny,” Night commented as he got his vision centered. “Nice job by the way of knocking me off my bed,”

Discord still couldn’t stop laughing at Night. Night stood there, but much longer and he might have to teach Discord something.

“Ok that’s it!” Night yelled and grabbed Discord pushing him up against the wall. Discord hung there up against the wall, shocked at what Night just did.

“Son what do you think you’re doing?” Discord asked, like when he took over he could fill darkness overtake Night, but again something stopped it.

“I’m sick of all of your laughing, a real father wouldn’t do that to his own son and don’t think I’ve forgiven you for what you did the other day!” Night stated before letting Discord go and started to walk out of his room. “I’m going to Dark’s room to see if he’s up and ok,”

“Well good bye then,” Discord retorted before heading to his room.

KNOCKKNOCKKNOCK
“Who is it?” Dark asked before Night came in.

“Dark, it’s me Night. Please tell me you remember me,” Night stated after he took a seat on one of the few chairs.

“Yea, I remember you, so how’s Discord taking things?” Dark asked.

“He’s ok. I’m just mad at him still,” Night said. “So how long before you’ll be able to train me some more?”

“Oh.....It might be a few more days, just practice what I’ve already taught you,” Dark said before laying back on to his pillow. “I’m gonna get some rest can you please leave?”

“Uh..Ok then, see you later,” Night said before leaving his room. Night was walking to the throne room to talk with Discord, but bumped into something. Night stood back and looked down.

He tilted his head to the right and saw a small colt holding his head. The colt was maybe eight or nine, he was an earth pony and no cutie mark.

“Hello?” Night asked, he didn’t want to act threatening even for the son of Nightmare.

“I-I-I-I don’t taste good,” The young colt said. The colt scurried behind one of the pillars in the room. Night was shocked at the little colt, why run from Night, most knew that Night wouldn’t hurt anypony, but if they got him mad, oh boy.

“Now why do you think I would hurt you and what are you doing in the castle?” Night asked before heading over to where the colt was hiding.

“Oh come now, why would I hurt” He was stopped by the young colt crying.

“Please don’t suck my blood or eat me!” The colt yelled in between sobs.

Now Night was really confused. “Suck your blood?”

Night could hear the colt mumble something. “So sharp,”

“What is ‘so sharp?’” Night again asked.

The colt didn’t speak he just sat there crying and sobbing. Night went to one of the freshly cleaned and polished pillars and took a look in it. Night stood there for a good minute before Discord walked by and saw the colt and Night. Night hadn’t notice Discord walk by and stop to see what was wrong with the colt.

“Night, what did you do to this young pony....I love it!” Discord said before hearing Night yelp in pain. “Night, what did you do?”

Discord walked over to the alicorn who was now holding his jaw as he got closer he saw a small drop of blood come from the alicorn.

Discord tilted his head and walked infront of Night. “Night, what happen?”

Night stood there and opened his mouth, Discord peered in and saw something anypony would fear.

“Night, why do you have fake fangs in your mouth?” Discord asked starting to laugh.

“What happened to me!?” Night yelled scaring the colt even more. “Why do I have fangs?!”

“Come on Night, stop fooling with me,” Discord stated before he started to pull at one of them with his magic. “Dang Night, did you put glue on them or something?”

“OW! Father that hurts, they’re not fake!” Night screamed more. “I don’t know where I got them, but I want them gone!”

“Fine, one pair of normal teeth coming up,” Discord stated before snapping his finger and caused a bright flash. After the flash subsided Night poked at his mouth and yelped in pain.

“DISCORD!” Night screamed. “I thought you got rid of them!”

“I thought I did,” Discord sighed and turned back to the young colt. He bent down and smiled he had one of his hands behind his back and spawned a HUGE lollipop.

“Here, just forget everything and this is yours,” Discord stated before handing the colt the lollipop, unknowingly to the colt Discord made it super sour apple flavored. The colt jumped off happy, but about a minute later a disgusted yelp drifted into the room telling Discord that the kid had took a lick from the pop.

Night stood there shaking his head. “I need to talk with Dark,”

As Night was running back to Dark’s room, Discord was going to talk with Night’s private guards to see if they’ve notice Night’s new fangs. Discord finally found Armored walking back from lunch and stopped him.

“Hi Armored, I need to ask you something!” Discord yelled down the hall.

Armored stopped and turn around.”Yes Discord, what do you want!?”

Discord teleported down the hall to Armored. Armored stood there ready to take anything Discord could throw at him.

“Night is different, have you noticed?” Discord asked.

“Like what, the fact that he’s becoming smarter?” Armored asked as he relaxed.

Discord looked at him and began to open his mouth, but stopped.

“Well, was I right or wrong?” Armored said looking at the frozen draconequus.

“Yes, but not that,” Discord began. “He's beginning to look like Nightmare Moon, but something is really confusing me now,”

“Like what, for an alicorn he’s not very powerful?” Armored commented.

Discord stood there with a dumb expression on his face. “Are you trying to say my son isn’t powerful!?”

Armored started to back up. “Fuck!”

“You know I can make your life much harder than being the guard for somepony who killed Luna,” Discord stated.

“Sorry, but what is confusing you, I see nothing or feel anything different in Night, he’s just a pony,” Armored said.

“Sometimes I wonder about you guards, how did Celestia even keep you guys?” Discord started. “Something keeps pulling at him, something is trying to get him to turn evil and I think it’s working. Early today I could feel it pulling at him, he pushed me against the wall caused I laughed at him,”

“I think you’re just paranoid, Night is kind, but sometimes he does fuck up,” Armored said. “And can I leave now?”

“Yes go, get out of here,” Discord sighed.

After Armored left Discord thought about going to Dark’s room to see if Night was there, but what if Night was still mad and something happens and he turns.

“Maybe I am paranoid.....NAH!” Discord yelled before teleport to Dark’s room, but didn’t go in. He put his ear to the door trying to listen to what Dark and Night was talking about.

“Dark, I’m sorry I don’t what to say,” Night cried.

“Night, it’s not your fault. Your mother has a stronger grasp on your life right now. That necklace is what is helping her,” Dark said.

“I know about the necklace, but why does she want me to turn?” Night asked starting to cry. “Why must it be me!?”

Discord was still listening to all of this and before he knew it Night rushed out of the room. “Night!” Called Discord.

“Darnit,” Discord said as he walked a bit into Dark’s room. “What happened?”

“Well Night was first talking about how bad of a father you are, then we talked about his powers and how something keeps pulling at him and what we are going to do with Sunset Shimmer,” Dark asked.

“I’m still thinking about that, I don’t know what to do, if Night falls then I will have a daughter instead of a son,” Discord replied.

“Discord!” Dark yelled, he couldn’t believe Discord would give up his only son. “Now I see why Night hates you as I father. I think you need to really think about what is happening to Night right now,”

Discord just stood there, he didn’t know what to think. All he was think about is what is pulling at Night and is Dark right, does Nightmare have something to do with it? Discord walked out of his room, not even saying a word.

“Why must my life be like this!?” Night screamed from his room. “My whole life has changed. My own father would give me up for somepony better than me,”

Discord was walking by the room and heard Night talking to somepony or by himself. Discord stopped, but his bottom half kept walking until he pulled at it causing it to snake back.

“I shouldn’t be here, I should move out,” “Night thought to himself. “This time maybe somepony won’t find out, next stop home!”

Discord was still listening, but couldn’t hear Night’s thoughts. Discord was fixing to open the door before being hit in the face with it, Night walked out, shook his head and walked on. Discord stood up and looked back at Night before heading into his room.

“Dang, what has Night done and what is he planning?” Discord thought.

“Shining!” Night called to the pony. “I need to tell you something,”

Shining turned around and saw Night, who looked like he was fixing to cry.

“I’m running back to my house, Discord doesn’t need me and can I ask you something?” Night asked nervously.

Shining was shocked to see this all he thought was. “What the fuck has Discord done now?”

“Uh...Sure?” Shining asked still wondering what has Discord done.

“I will leave around sunset, be sure nopony will be out and DON’T TELL A SOUL!” Night raised his voice.

Shining took a step back and then spoke. “Yea, I got it,”

“Good, now don’t screw this up or your life will be harder then what it is,” Night stated then left to go pack.

Discord was just fixing to leaves Night’s room before he was stopped by a voice. “I hope Shining doesn’t fuck up,”

“Darn it Night, always coming in at the wrong time,” Discord said before teleporting away.

Night walked into his room not noticing the flash of light. Night started to pack up a few things mainly cloths, for tonight, food and matches. At about 5:30 Night left for the back door, where Shining made sure nopony was. Night nodded to Shining and left for his home. It wasn’t long before the sun finally sat and right before Night entered the Everfree forest, he bumped into something or somepony.

“What did I bump into?” A voice called, it was a mare’s voice. “No time to stop, I’m very sorry who ever you are, but I got to get back to the library,”

Night could barely make out the mare looking around for something.

“Did you drop something?” Night asked. “I could get us some light,”

“That would be useful, I’m very tired right now and I think magic is at the top of my list for what I can’t do right now,” The mare said bumping into a tree.

Night gladly powered his horn and the air was filled with a bluish-blackish glow. Night could see a purple mare, but could only see her flank. Night stood there shaking his head.

“I’m not dating anypony, not now anyways,” He said to himself. The mare turned back to Night.

“!” The mare’s eyes narrowed to a pin size. “What is an alicorn doing all the way out here!”

Night tilted his head a but, trying to figure out what the mare was talking about.

“I live out here, my house is in the forest, didn’t you know?” Night asked.

The mare just stood there in her head all she could think about was. “What is an alicorn doing living in the Everfree forest and why is he not trying to defeat Discord?”

“Well...No. I’ve been trying to get a normal life again after mister chaos took rule,” The mare stated, sadly she didn’t know about Night and Discord.

“You know Discord may not be the best father, but he’s not all around that bad,” Night may be really pissed at Discord, but he can be a good ruler.

The mare’s eye went back to pin size as she started to back up. Her mind was racing. “FATHER! How, who!”

“Are you ok, do you need a doctor or something?” Night asked.

“I think my mind was just blown,” The mare stated

“How?” Night said confusion writing on his face.

“I don’t know how to explain, but just with me and I’ll try to tell you more,” The mare said before finding the thing she dropped which was a spell book. “By the way I don’t think I got your name or an intro,”

“Well I’m Night Wolfe, son of Discord and Nightmare Moon, nice to meet you,” Night stated getting a shocking stare from the mare.

“How are you the son of Nightmare!” The mare yelled, she caught a glimpse of Night new fangs and yelled at the top of her little lungs.

“What the fuck are you screaming about, I won’t hurt you. I’m not as much as my father as you think,” Night said, but the mare wouldn’t shut up. “Shut up!”

Night levitated the mare off the ground which caused her to shut up. Night stood there wondering what the mare was screaming about.

“I can tell you don’t believe me, but trust me why would I lie?” Night asked. The mare floated there cross hoofed.

“Why should I trust somepony who is the son of Discord? The one that frozen Celestia and killed Luna,” The mare said trying to look away from Night.

Night stood there, not a word coming from his mouth. “He didn’t kill Luna,”

This earned a pick of interest from the mare. “If he didn’t then who did?”

“I did,” Night hung his head low and a tear formed on his face. The mare hung there, fear and more shook forming on her face.

“You did WHAT!” The mare yelled again. the mare noticed one of Night’s tears. “Why are you crying?”

Night didn’t say anything for a few minutes, after all that happened today his mother was at the back of his mind. Night could fill the sadness fill up, anger catching up.

The mare tilted her head, why was the alicorn crying, if anything he should be happy there aren't anypony that can stop Discord. “Please, you should be happy that nopony can stop you and Discord,”

“You don’t know the truth then,” Night started. “Luna was my mother in a different life,” Night’s voice lowered.

“So wait,” The mare thought a minute then began again. “Your mother was, oh my Celestia!”

“Yes, my mother was Nightmare Moon,” Night couldn’t take it anymore, he broke down right in front of the mare. “Why? Why did Discord lie to me and make me kill my own mother!?”

Night dropped the mare and sat there sobbing over the still fresh loss of his mother.

“Here you can come home with me and I’ll get you something to help you forget and the name is Twilight, Twilight Sparkle. I was the formal student of Celestia,” Twilight said. She didn’t even see that Night has zoned out, trying his best to get the thought out of his head. Twilight knew if she tried walking to Ponyville with the son of the new ruler, she might have trouble.

“I hope this works,” Twilight stated before teleporting her and Night to the library. She went over to one of the walls and flipped on the light, she looked around and didn’t see Spike anywhere.

“What, where the fuck are we?” Night said as he got up and brushed one of his wings off. “and who are you again?”

Twilight didn’t hear Night as she went up stairs to get a sleeping dragon. Night mind wandered, so much has happen today he thought about what Discord would be doing right now and also thought about if Shining spilled the beans.

“Who’s down stairs!” A voice different from the mare’s called down. “Twilight are you pulling my tail?”

Night stopped. “Twilight? I remember Discord talking about somepony named Twilight and how she tried to stopped him, but he said that she moved to a different country,”

“Spike, do you think I would lie to you right now, now come on I need your help,” Twilight said.

“Fine, but he won’t-” Spike stopped halfway down the stairs, out of the corner of his right eye he could see Night looking at one of the few book that were laid out on the floor and saw one of his fangs. “NOPE!”

Spike turned around and started back up the stairs, but Twilight stopped that. The young dragon was enveloped in a purplish aura and brought down the stairs. “Twilight, I don’t want to be eaten,”

“He’s not going to eat you, if anything we need to help him,” Twilight said letting the dragon go as the got to the bottom of the stairs. “So Night is it, this is my little brother, Spike,”

Night turned around and saw the small dragon hiding behind Twilight. “Hello there,” Night nodded his head to the dragon.

“I’m not saying a word to that freak, he changed our friends and killed Luna,” Spike said turning away.

“Spike!” Twilight faced hoofed, she forgot to tell him not to say anything about Luna or Nightmare.

“What, he killed freaking Luna. He should be back on his little throne and make Discord happy,” Spike stated. Night’s anger was building up again, he went over to the young dragon and pick him up with his magic.

“I’m one second from ending your life,” Night said.

Twilight jumped right into action, defusing the problem. “Night, I’m sorry this is my fault I forgot to tell him about your mother,” Twilight ran over knocking Night away from Spike.

Spike hung in the air for a split second then dropped. Twilight got up from where she knock Night off and notice that he got hit on the head.

“Oh crap. Night, are you there?” Twilight started. “Spike get me some rags with some cold water on them,”

As Spike went to get the rags, Twilight levitated Night over to one of the chairs. “I hope Discord doesn’t go looking for his son,”

Spike came running back into the room with the rags and gave them to Twilight. “Thank you Spike. Now I want you to head back upstairs and get some more sleep, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow,”

Spike stood there, looking at the unicorn really hard. “Twilight, your color! You have some more color!” He yelled.

“Spike, just go to bed. I’ve notice I’ve gotten more color, but right now we need to find out how to overthrow the new ruler,” She looked over to Night who was still passed out. Twilight looked won and instead of dark gray there was some color, but not much.

“What are we going to do with him?” Spike asked walking to the stairs.

“Not we, but what will Celestia do. If she finds out about Luna, he’ll probably get the banishment or death,” Twilight said to the young dragon.

Spike went on ahead upstairs and went to his bed and went to sleep. Twilight soon follow and made sure Night had everything if he woke up.

Back at the castle Shining was getting the best of nights.

“He did what!” Discord screamed.

“He ran back to his old home. He came to me about three hours ago and told me not to tell a soul,” Shining said almost being choked by Discord's magic.

“Why?” Discord asked pondering at that fact.

“What do you think? You’ve made Night’s life much harder than you think, instead of making him feel better about himself, you’ve just kept making fun about him,” Shining said choking.

Discord didn’t even flinch at that, he just kept choking Shining. “I make fun of Night, cause I’m the god of chaos, what do expect from me?”

Around that time Armored came walking in. “Shining what did you do!?”

Discord turn around and floated Armored over to the wall where he had Shining.

“Why must everything you get dragged into start with me?” Shining asked from his bubble.

“Armored, did you know anything about this?” Discord asked walking back and forth.

“No sir. I was out in Canterlot keeping the ‘peace’,” Armored replied.

Discord let Armored go, but kept Shining in his grasp. “What are you going to do with me?”

Discord pondered about what he could do. “Oh I don’t know may you leave a normal life, having to put up with my chaos or you can be a prisoner,”

Shining couldn’t help but think about Night and what he might be doing. “Don’t you think you should be out looking for Night or something?”

“I should yes but,” Discord turned to one of the doors. “I’ll let him come to me. He needs me, without me he’s powerless,”

Discord turned back to Shining. “I say I think a few days in prison should make you think twice about lying or hiding something from me. Guards throw him in the cell!” Discord stated before teleported to the throne room.

“NOOOO!” Shining tried to get a hold of Armored, but he didn’t hear him. “Armored help!”

Armored was going up to Night’s room to keep it safe and Discord was in the throne room trying to figure where Night went. In the back of his mind he thought maybe Night went to his house, but that would dumb. So where could he be?

“I need him to fight Sunset, but where the fuck is he?” Discord thought as he fell asleep in the throne room.

Chapter 7
Twilight

The sun light shined through the window and it landed on Night’s face. Twilight was up, eating some toast while Spike was eyeing Night. “Spike he’s ok.” Twilight walked into the room.

“I don’t care, he killed Luna,” Spike began. “He should-”

Spike stopped, Night began to move, but just turned over in the chair. The time was about nine o’clock, so really Night should be up right now. Twilight walked over to Night and began in a low tone.

“Night, you there? Are you ok?

Night didn’t move, everything about him was still. Night was thinking about how much he hated Discord and then a Nightmare popped in his head. He started to move, he couldn’t control himself.

“Nightmare I’m sorry, please-” Night stopped moving again. Twilight ran and got a rag soaked in hot water and placed it on Night. He moved again probably from the hot rag.

“Spike, get a letter ready.”

Spike came back pen and paper in tow. Twilight cleared her throat and began to speak.

Dear father,

I will be staying at a friends house for the next few days. Please do not come looking for me, I’ll be back in a few days

“Thank you Spike, always a big help.” Spike sent the letter off while Twilight took a seat across from Night. “Night must have it hard even for being a prince.” Twilight looked over to the bookshelf and pulled a book out of it titled History of Nightmare. She want to find out how Nightmare and Discord could have meet.

As Twilight was digging in her book, Night began to move again. She looked up and notices that Night eyes had finally opened up. She jumped out of her chair and ran for some water. Night was still waking up and barely saw Twilight run for the water. She came back in with magic in her aura.

“Here you go,” Twilight levitated the water to Night and he drank a bit. “I hit you hard, are you ok?”

Night looked over to Twilight, his eyesight still blurred. “Who....are you?”

“What is your name?” Twilight asked, she need to make sure Night hadn’t forgot anything.

“Night Wolfe, son of Discord....why?” Night asked finally feeling his mind clear.

“Just want to make sure you had no brain damage.” She had a weak smile on her face.

Night looked at her and frowned. “Brain damage?”

Twilight went and took a seat, this is going to be a long day. “When I brought you home, you got mad at Spike and” She stopped and turned to the book floating. She turn back to Night and saw his horn glowing.

“And I kinda knocked you out.” Twilight finished. “Please forgive me.”

Night was busying read the book and just nodded his head. “Does my father know?

“Yes, I just got done writing a letter in your name, hope it was ok.” Twilight was ready to save herself if need.

Night just turned over and yawned. “Yea that was fine.”

“You want a bed or something?” Twilight was still uneasy, but kinda found Night interesting. “I got one upstairs you could use.”

Night turned his head back. “That would be nice thank you.”

Twilight showed Night to her room where she let him sleep. “See you in a few.” Night called while Twilight was leaving.

“Spike, we got some work to do,” Twilight said coming down stairs. “I want to know how Nightmare and Discord meet.”

Twilight entered here library and grab that book Night was reading. She sat down and began to read. She has no idea how many hours past, but when Night got up it was almost four o’clock.

“Hello Twilight, how are you right now?” Night asked walking down the stairs. Twilight jumped in her chair.

“Night, don’t scare me like that,” She said, catching her breath. “You feeling any better.” He mind was racing, why did she even bring him?

“I have one question for you Twi, hope it’s ok to call you that,” Night began. “Why did you bring me here? You know for being the smart one of the Elements, you sure did make a bad mistake by bring me here. If my father does start to search for me and if he comes here you might just die and you know that. So again why bring me here?”

Twilight knew what he was talking about, her mind wasn’t clean when she brought him here. what if he sends Discord here to finish her.

As Night and Twilight were talking, Discord was have one hell of a time trying to find out where Night went.

“Master Disord, letter for you it's from Night.” One of the mail ponies said walking into the throne room.

What does it read?” Discord asked. “I don’t have time for all of this, Sunset is still out there.”

“Night is still here he’s just with a friend.” The pony said then left.

“So you mean to tell me that Night is off with a friend?” Discord asked turning to Armored.

“I guess, sorry Discord.” Armored stated before stepping off to the guard’s room.

Back at Twilight’s home Night was questioning the purple mare.

“Yea I knew that, but does that mean?” Twilight was fixing to question the blue-black alicorn.

“Yea, so what an alicorn need a teacher, problem?” Night asked with a sheepish tone in his voice.

“Oh no, no problem at all,” Twilight said getting up from her chair. “You want anything to eat?”

Night wasn’t even paying attention, he was thinking about what Discord thought about the letter.

“Night? Do you want anything to eat or drink?” Twilight asked cocking her head to the side.

Night snapped back to the real world and turned to Twilight. “Sure I guess.”

“Well I guess I’ll leave him alone for a while.” Discord stated before heading to his room.

“What do you want?” Twilight asked entering the kitchen. “We don’t have much.”

“You want me to go out and get something?” Night asked standing up and spread his wings across the room.

Twilight turned back and saw Night spread his wings. “What is your wing span?”

“Hell if I know,” Night began. “I’m going out for pizza, what do you want?”

Twilight took a seat as Night flew off through an open window, off to get pizza. “Spike, do you think Night is evil, good, neutral?

“Evil, pure evil.” Spike commented before heading up stairs. “I’m heading to bed.” With that Spike was gone into Twilight’s room.

“But-” The slamming of a door stopped her. “Ok then.”

Night returned 45 minutes later with two pizzas in tow. “Ok I got an ‘all the way’ and just cheese.”

Twilight walked over and took a whiff of the pizzas. She hasn’t eaten anything ‘good’ in a long time. Night laid the pizza down a grab a slice. Twilight looked up and stared at Night’s cutie mark.

“Do I have something on me?” Night asked looking back. “Oh, funny I got this when Discord took over.”

“How old are you again, 1000 something, it took you that long-” Twilight stopped herself. She caught herself before she made the joke.

“Go right ahead I’ve heard worse,” Night said finishing his piece of pizza. “Where’s the little dragon?”

“Asleep. You do know he doesn’t like you.” Twilight said putting the pizza up and taking a seat.

Night looked at her. He raised an wing and laid it back down. “Let me guess, I killed Luna, andI’m an alicorn so I can do anything.”

Twilight slowly nodded her head. “You don’t like being an alicorn do you?”

Night also took a seat and looked away from Twilight. “I didn’t say that. How do you think it feels to walk around town and have to keep yourself hidden?”

“What do you mean. Shockingly there’s no books on you.” Twilight commented.

“Your little teacher kept me hidden. I had to go out cover head to hoof.” Night’s frown grew bigger.

“Why did she keep you, she knew about your past?” Twilight asked grabbing another book. “She mentioned nothing of you, Nightmare was your mother, so why didn’t she say anything?”

Night looked back to Twilight. “Well of course she didn’t, she didn’t want the whole nation freaking over cause Discord’s son if living near Ponyville.” He stopped to let Twilight soak in the info then began again. “Nightmare didn’t want to worry with me, I saw all of you take away my mother!”

Night’s anger grew then shrunk, he could blame them. Celestia put them up to it.

“If Celestia knew about you then why didn’t she just get rid of you?”

“She want me to turn on my father and help destroy him,” Night said laying back in his chair. “I’m going to sleep, wake me when the world is on fire.”

“Discord!” A voice called.

“What? Who?” Discord asked standing up.

“I see your own son bald on you,” The voice called again. “Why don’t you know? I’m the one who’s going to turn Equestria to it’s former glory. I’m Sunset Shimmer.”

“What do you want from Night aways!?” Discord yelled at the walls trying to find where the voice is coming from.

“His power. He has more than you think, it just needs to be awaken. I’ll be back soon.” And with that the voice dissipated.

“We are so doomed if Sunset finds Night.” Discord stated.

“Twilight, why don’t you just dump Night off somewhere?” Spike whispered.

“Cause if I do that, then I just doomed everypony,” Twilight started. “He was running back to his old home, Discord made him mad about something.”

“Wasn’t he carrying something?” Spike asked.

“I didn’t notice, did he?” Twilight asked the young dragon.

“Yea he had a small bag, why don’t you check it. It could tell us what’s wrong.” Spike said pointing over to Night’s bag.

“Spike! That’s invasion of somepony else stuff.” Twilight commented looking right at the dragon.

“Hi, you wanted to know what could be wrong with him,” Spike said throwing his claws behind his head. “And besides will he know?”

Twilight looked back over to the bag. “I really don’t know.”

“Just do it, just make sure it looks the same way you left it. While you fight with yourself, I’m heading back to bed.” Spike walked on off to his small bed and Twilight stood there looking at the bag.

“I guess one little look won’t hurt.” She walked over and looked at the bag, nothing special.

Twilight looked back at Night to make sure he was still sleeping then she turned back to the bag. “Here goes nothing.”

Twilight opened up the bag and found some of Night’s journal pages, his spell book, and the picture with the whole group. “What’s this? Discord, Night, Nightmare, and some unicorn....wait WHAT!”

She covered her mouth and turned back to Night, sleeping like a rock. She looked back at the picture to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. “How is Nightmare in this picture...wait” She looked closer at Night in the picture. “That necklace.”

She turned back to the Night in real life. “ The same necklace, but what is he doing with Luna’s necklace?”

While Twilight was wondering what Night was doing with Luna’s necklace, Night was secretly watching her. “How did he even get ahold of Luna’s necklace?”

“Didn’t she say something about selling it, before all hell broke loose?” Twilight didn’t see Night shift in his chair, but he wanted to see hold long it would take for her to find out. “If he wants to forget then why is he wearing his necklace?”

“Now’s my time.” Night thought shifting again.

“Cause I still love my mother,” Night said. Twilight jumped, her hair went spiky almost like a scared cat. “You’re nosey for being a leader.”

Twilight turn around and saw Night sitting in his chair. “I’m sorry, please don’t kill me.” She started to ball up.

“Shhh, I’m not going to kill you. I’m just mad cause you looked through my stuff.” Night commented standing up. He walked over and noticed Twilight crying. Night bent down to Twilight’s level.

“I’m shocked you didn’t try one of those spells in that book. I always heard that you loved new spells,” He stood up and walked over to his bag. “I bought this necklace and that unicorn is my teacher.”

Twilight stood up. “I..I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault, Discord shouldn’t have lied to me,” Night pick up the picture in his magic. “That’s Nightmare’s ghost, she’s been following. She start right after I killed Luna.”

“Why do you always wear that necklace? You know Nightmare follows you, maybe is because of the necklace?” Twilight thought out loud.

“It’s not because of the necklace, it’s cause she trying to make sure I don’t turn on my own father,” Night began, Twilight took a seat. “like I said, for most of my life I’ve been in hiding. When I was standing on the balcony with Discord, I could feel something pull at me. Somepony or thing keeps telling me in my head to turn, but I can’t. I keep fighting it, it’s burning me up inside.”

Night looked in a mirror what was in the room and saw a flash. The flash was him, but he was overthrowing Discord. “Fuck, what is going on with me!?”

“Night...a-are you ok?” Twilight felt bad for the alicorn even if he killed Luna.

“I’m fine, I just need to sit down.” Night made his way over to a chair. When he finally sat down he spawned a cover and some more pillows.

“Night, are you sure you’re ok?” Twilight asked. “You look sick.”

“Yea I’m fine, just cold.” Night said, trying to smile. Night knew something was wrong, but he didn’t want Twilight to worry about him.

“Are you sure? You don’t look to well.” Twilight was starting to get worried, the one thing Night didn’t want. She floated a small glass of water to him, but it was colored.

“I said no.” Night retorted pushing the glass away with his magic.

“Night I know something is wrong I can hear it in you voice.” Twilight said. She was at war with herself, why is she helping him?

Twilight stood there for a second then left to go to bed. “Well if you need anything just call me.” With that we was gone.

Night laid there looking at the door, he wasn’t thinking leaving at first and he just couldn’t sleep. He kept thinking about the image and whatever it is pulling at him. “Maybe I should just run, leave this place. Go somewhere Discord can’t find me. I’m not made out to be a ruler, I shouldn’t even be alive. Celestia should have killed me.”

A tear formed on his face. “No I can’t cry, I’m strong and...” More tears formed. “Darn it! I can’t stay, I’m an alicorn that can barely do magic and I killed my own mother. What type of monster am I!”

Chapter 8

“NIGHT! NIGHT! Oh no where is he?!” Twilight ran around the room, looking under everything.

“Twi, he isn’t going to be under a chair.” Spike took a seat.

“Must keep going. I can’t stop.” Night was talking to himself. “I can’t stop, I’m nothing more than a monster and lie.”

Tears were rolling down his face, the cold wind in his fur. He had just walked out of Ponyville, but he wasn’t heading home, he was heading for anywhere. He was just heading for a new home, someplace nopony has heard of him.

“Spike I think we have to tell,” she swallowed a lump. “Discord.”

Spike’s heart skipped, he fall over passed out.

“Come on now Spike, now’s not the time.” she powered her horn and soon they showed up outside the castle. “No guards?”

“Dark just go outside and look around.” Discord had almost every guard out looking for Night. Dark walked outside and bumped into Twilight. “Oh sorry...Twilight?”

“Why does this always happen..wait who are you?” Twilight remember back to the picture. “You’re Dark...Night’s teacher.”

“Yea why?”

“Night, he was at my house then he just left!”

“Dark I thought I told you-” Discord stopped at the sight of the purple mare. “Oh hello little Twi.

Twilight started to hide behind Dark.

“Why have you come here, to finish what you started?” He bent down and slide Dark aside.

Twilight stood up and tried to look fearless. “Your son..he he just left, I don’t know where he went.”

Discord stood up with a long face. “I have no need for him, besides I have bigger problems. Luna’s body is missing.”

Twilight didn’t know what to say.

Night soon found a small cave and ducked in it, before being frozen to death. He soon fell asleep after lighting a fire. the cold wind blowing in and the fire made thing seem calm, but something was moving out in the snow, something smaller than Night.

“Look at him, so young, so confused, but what can I do?”

“Hmmm...W-who’s there?” Night arose from his makeshift bed. He look around and didn’t see anything or anypony. “Must be dreaming.”

“Oh you’re not dreaming.”

“Show yourself.” The fire was almost out, but still gave enough light. “I know someone is here!”

“Oh well look who has finally learned. OK I’ll show myself.” A shadow popped out of the ground and formed legs, wings, and a horn.

“Nonononono.....L-luna!” Night screamed as he saw what was happening. “But...but.”

“Hello son.” She smiled. “I see you finally ran and found a nice little cave.” She walked over to Night, who kept backing up.

“Nonononono...I’m seeing thing.” He backed into a wall. “I’m just dreaming....right?”

Luna walk closer and smiled. “No...you’re not dreaming.”

“But you should be dead..I thought I-” Luna stopped him.

“You can’t kill a alicorn, you just knocked me out for a loooong time.”

“So..you’re going to get revenge on me?” He looked around for something.

“It wasn’t your fault, Discord was controlling you, but yes I am just a bit mad at you.” She looked down, frowning.

“You lied to protect me...so what now?” He walked closer to his mother.

“Yes, but looked at what is cased. I was trying to keep Twilight out of this.” A tear rolled down her face.

“Hi...shhhhh. I can’t see my mother cry.” He walked over and sat down placing a wing on her back.

“What we need to do is get rid of your father.” She looked over at him.

“He’s done nothing but caused pain for everypony. I will help on one condition, when we fee Celestia and we explain thing, I don’t have to wear that hood.”

Luna looked at him and smiled. “Y-you’ll help, even if he’s your father?”

“I’ve answered that, yes I will.” He looked to his cutie mark. “Can you explain this?”

Luna looked down. “Easy,”

“What do you mean easy?” He asked looking back at her.

“It’s not that you cut other ponies lives, it there’s are two sides to you.”

“What?” Night looked very confused.

“You know that thing that pulls at you?”

“Yea, point.” He looked back to it.

“Well that’s Discord’s little part in you, when you joined him it took more of you.” She frowned and looked to the cave entrance. “I knew you would do this, but Tia wouldn’t let me get to you.”

“W-will this ever change?” He looked scared.

She sighed. “No, this is you. You can’t change it.”

“What do you mean...You don’t need him. He’s your son!” Twilight screamed at the spirit.

“Does it look like I care? Sunset had just gave up...she has her own world. I told her she could keep the crown, frankly I didn’t care.” Discord smirked.

“Wait...you didn’t tell me!” Dark yelled.

“Oops sorry..wait I’m not.” Discord smiled evilly.

“Why I’m going to ki-” Dark was stopped. He felt something crawl up his legs. He looked down. “AHHH!”

“I’m sick of you....you’re not more than a pain!” He snapped his claw and Dark turned to stone, like Celestia. Twilight started to back up at the sight.

“Well Twilight what are you going to do now. No elements, no magic, no Luna and Celestia. No chance.” Discord stated getting his magic ready again.

“Run!” She took off at breakneck speeds. She ran and grabbed Sike and started to run for a new place, some place far.

“O-ok Night ready?” Luna asked, she could tell Night wanted to help, even if Discord was his father.

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” he smiles and look to the entrance of the cave. “Luna do you see something?”

Luna looked over and spotted something moving. “Hi you out there who are- Twilight?”

Twilight heard something call her name and walked to it. “Who called my.....LUNA!!???” She ran up and hugged the princess.

Luna looked down and saw tears roll down her face. “Shhhh.. Twi, it’s ok.”

“I-I thought y-you were dead.” Twi cried.

After an hour of trying to calm her down and explain things to Spike. Night and Luna told the plan to Twilight. Twilight told Night about Dark and some other things.

“Everypony got the plan?” Luna asked looking to both ponies.

“Yea.” Night nodded. Twilight could tell that he was worried about what Discord would do.

“Night listen. I’m sure if you help us Celestia will forgive you.” She said half smiling.

Night looked over at Twilight and smiles. “Thanks, but what about the other mane six?”

“I’ll have to get them back later, but we have plenty of power right here.” Twilight said walking to the cave’s entrance.

“Yea..plenty.” Night said sarcastically.

“What do you- oh right.” Twilight stopped herself.

“Yea.” Night said walking beside Twilight. Luna walked up and nodded to both before teleporting them. “Thanks now wh- oh my.”

Most of the ponies were turned to stone, some were running and some were just standing still.

“My father.....will pay.” Night took off running to the castle.

“Night WAIT!” Twilight screamed. Luna stopped her.

“This is his fight.”

“Ahahahahahah!!” Discord laughed at the ponies running away. he soon spotted the long lost alicorn, Night. “Well look who-”

He was stopped by Night jumping into the air and heading straight for him. “Please.” He snapped his claw and Night feel to the ground in pain.

Night screamed in pain. “WHAT DID YOU DO!”

“Heheheh..I don’t need a son.”

“AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” Night screamed even louder. “What are you doing to me.”

“Easy..getting rid of you.” Discord stated as Night began to fade.

“No..nononono.” The necklace fell off of Night. “NO!!!”

Night was no more and all was left was his necklace, or the one that belonged to Luna. Twilight and Luna rounded the corner as they saw this. Luna looked down, her rage building. Twilight started to cry, even though she hated him.

“DISCORD! How dare you kill our son!!” Luna screamed!

“Oh you,” Discord snaked over to her and Twilight. “so you came to see what happens?”

Luna slapped him. “Look at this!”

“What do you mean?” He start to spin looking at everything.

“You killed you own son!!!!” She scream. “What got in you!!???”

Discord shook his head, he went pure crazy and snapped. Crazy for Discord is his fur even turning gray.

“Oh Celestia...what did I come to...” Discord asked himself as he took a seat.

“I-I don’t know what hit me.” He said to Twilight and Luna, who was now in tears.

Twilight stopped crying and came up for a reason Discord snapped. “I know why....your love for your son.”

“W-what do you mean?” He asked.

“You loved your son much that you thought he left you.” She looked over to Luna, who was where Night’s body was.

Discord was silent, he walked over to Luna. “Luna, listen...I-I’m sorry.”

“Listen I’ll go back to my stone, I can’t live like this.” He turn to Twilight and soon the others showed up, normal.

They look at Discord and soon Twilight got the Elements. Luna was still crying, while Discord was set back into stone. The other five cheered while Twilight walked over to Luna.

“It will be ok, we can think-” Something stopped her.

“Good job you six.” It was Celestia.

They all bowed, but Twilight. She was trying to get Luna to calm down.

“Luna, please...forgive me for what I did. I’m sure Night is on his own odyssey right now, trying to find a new life.” Twilight said turning to Celestia.

“Today, for you Luna, I will make this day a day to remember him.”

ONE YEAR LATER

It was that day, the day to remember what happen. Luna was still not over what happen, Discord was set free to go to the grave they made for Night and was soon put back. Twilight was with Luna all the time, even for that bit he spent with her it left an impact on her. Thank night Luna went to bed leaving Celestia to raise the sun. Luna didn’t know what to think, she wasn’t mad at Discord, she was mad at herself.

“Should’ve saved him.” She said tossing in her bed. “Where did I go wrong?”
