This tale will tell about Whirlwind's Father who was born in Equestria, abandoned by his own kind and raised by Ponies.
Remember in the various chapters that mentioned Whirlwind's family? Well, this is the story of Whirlwind's father, Storm Breaker. Equestria's Rare Feather Winged Dragon and powerful dragon at the time.
Throughout Equestria's history, there has been a number of rare occurrences that have appeared long before Starswirl the Bearded discovered Skylands. But this tale is about a rare feather winged dragon that was abandoned by his kind and raised by ponies. This is a dragon that took Equestria by storm, literally. This is his tale.
In the time of the Great Dragon Migration, there have been unexpected births of dragon hatchlings. This Migration had the largest unexpected hatchlings in Equestria, but the shock softened up when one final egg hatched. The Egg had a bluish color to it along with dark blue spots around the shell. The Dragons were shocked that the head didn't appear first, but there was instead a pair of feathery Pegasus like wings broke through the shell. The egg burst open revealing the rest of the hatchling, but its feathered wings brought a sign of disgust for most dragons with their leathery wings. They saw that the hatchling was a genetic defective and assumed the tradition of what they do to defectives.
Meanwhile near the Lava pits, a dark blue Pegasus mare with a blue mane was studying dragons near the migration site. Each time she would see a dragon fly in and out, she with take a note on it. It wasn't until she saw a group of four dragons walking away from the migration spot. She went in closer and discovered a fifth dragon, a hatchling being carried by the center dragon. She followed them until the center dragon set the hatchling down as he said,
"The uncommon dragons are a curse to our kind. Hopefully a Timber wolf will end you."
As the Dragons left, she saw the small hatchling abandoned and alone. As soon as the Dragons were out of earshot, she went down to the hatchling and noticed something extraordinary. Despite its sad yellow eyes, she spotted its wings unfolding revealing a pair of Pegasus wings. She was stunned by her discovery, but she also saw the sadness of the abandonment of something so rare. She gave the hatchling a motherly stare and said,
"Don't worry, little one. I'll take care of you." The hatchling smiled and let out a small tear of joy. She knelt down as the hatchling climbed into her saddlebag, she took off for Canterlot to bring the university her new discovery.
As she arrived at the Canterlot School for Explorative Pegasi, she was met by her friend who asked,
"Stormy, You're back so soon?"
Stormy replied, "I am back because I found something that the professors may like to see."
Her friend asked, "What did you find?" Stormy motioned to her right saddlebag as a pair of small blue zig-zag horns appeared from the saddlebag along with the head and body of a dragon hatchling. Her friend said,
"You found a baby dragon?" Stormy replied, "When I found this hatchling, he was already abandoned by his own kind."
Her friend was shocked, "That's terrible!"
Stormy finished, "But I took him in and brought him here to show the professors."
Stormy went into the school and found her professors in their offices and showed the hatchling to them. One Professor said,
"Incredible, a marvelous discovery of a different species of dragon."
Another Professor asked, "Why would the dragons abandon this little one?"
Stormy replied, "Its his wings, his wings are Pegasus like wings."
The Professors moved an object close to the hatchling as its eyes caught up with it. The hatchling's feathered wings opened and closed as it kept the object in sight. Stormy asked,
"Should we take it to the doctor so she can examine it. But please, be gentle, its just a baby."
The professor spoke, "You should take it to a doctor, you do care about it. You have discovered a rare species, Stormy. You should feel honored."
After taking the hatchling to the doctor, the doctor gave the small dragon a quick routine examination and determined that the hatchling is happy and healthy in Stormy's care. The doctor identified the new species as 'Feather Winged Dragons'. Stormy was actually thinking of a name for the sleeping hatchling in the small cradle. Stormy asked,
"Now what should I call you?" Her question was interrupted when the hatchling sneezed. When the hatchling sneezed, a big storm erupted from the clouds. It was an unscheduled storm when she looked outside. Soon enough the Weather Team got it under control, she looked at the hatchling and decided,
After adopting the rare feather winged dragon she now calls, Storm Breaker, Stormy was putting herself forward as a motherly figure to the dragon. She loved her son and would protect him from the discriminating Elite of Canterlot. She kept Storm Breaker her own care even when he causes a storm to break out by accident. She always kept the hatchling close to her, hoping that Storm Breaker will make a difference in Equestria.
Soon enough, Storm Breaker grew into a kid dragon and was going into first grade at Canterlot Elementary. He asked as he approached the school,
"Mommy, Do you think anypony will like me?"
Stormy told her son, "Storm Breaker, There are times when ponies don't seem to like another and begin to tease them. But you just have to ignore them and try to make friends who know that you can trust."
The dragon asked while stretching his wings, "Will they make fun of my wings?"
Stormy wrapped her right wing around her son, "You have to learn to respect what you are and not what others think. Your wings shows that you are a rare breed of dragon and you are my son."
Storm Breaker took a deep breath, "I guess you are right. I hope it will go well instead of kindergarten."
Stormy spoke, "Leave Kindergarten behind you. The past is the past, it won't interfere with your future."
Stormy led Storm Breaker inside the building and spoke to the principal,
"My son was enrolled in this school for first grade. His name is Storm Breaker."
The Principal spoke as she read the file, "Here it is, Storm Breaker. Feather Wing Dragon. Can cause storms to break out." She looked at the dragon, "Your homeroom is 8B, just down the hall to the right."
Storm Breaker replied, "Thanks." He turned to his mother, "This is where we part ways for the day, Mom?"
Stormy replied, "This is it. I will see you at the end of the day."
Storm Breaker arrived at room 8B for his first day in first grade when he saw the shocked eyes of many fillies and colts who stared at him when he entered. He just calmly walked past everypony to get to his desk. But as he was walking, he was unaware that one irresponsible colt planned to prank him. As Storm Breaker passed the colt's desk, he was nearly tripped when the colt put his hoof in front of Storm's walking space, but unexpectedly Storm Breaker dodged it by using his wings to fly over. The entire class was really shocked at Storm Breaker's wings until he landed.
He finally reached his desk until a light blue Pegasus colt with a rainbow mane spoke,
"That was amazing, you dodged Slap stick's traditional 'Have a nice trip' prank. There is also your Pegasus wings."
The dragon noticed the stallion and said, "I knew that it was a prank because I saw that smirk on his face. As for my wings, I've always had them since I was hatched, purposely abandoned by my own kind and found by my mom."
The colt held out his hoof, "My name is Rainbow Blitz, but most ponies call me Blitz for short." Storm Breaker shook Blitz's hoof, "I'm Storm Breaker, but you can call me Storm for short."
During snack, Storm and Blitz were having their snack that they brought until a Pink Pegasus filly with a Blue mane came up to them and said,
"Geez, dude, For a dragon, you really showed Slap Stick that not everypony or dragon can fall for his pranks."
Blitz introduced the filly, "Storm Breaker, this is my friend, Firefly. She is pretty much of a daredevil sometimes. But on the other hoof, she is one of the most loyal friends you will ever have."
Storm Breaker shook Firefly's hoof and said, "What was your history with this Slap Stick?"
Blitz shrugged, "Personal experience, that's how I met Firefly."
Firefly replied, "I was more of somepony who stands up for others who was pranked by Slap Stick. Blitz was one of those who was a victim to Slap Stick's pranks."
Storm Breaker said, "Well, I had personal experience with pranksters back in kindergarten. That's how I managed to see through Slap Stick's tricks."
Firefly replied, "You have an incredible time of planning."
Storm Breaker finished, "Because I'm trying to fit in with the rest."
Blitz replied, "You can fit in with us, Storm."
Storm Breaker said, "This is going to be a good time."
Stormy picked up Storm Breaker from Canterlot Elementary and saw that he was in a happy mood. She could tell because he was smiling and his wings were flapping uncontrollably. She asked,
"I guess you had a good day at school?"
Storm Breaker said, "Mom, You are not going to guess what happened. I made two new friends today."
Stormy asked, "Who are your new friends?"
The Dragon replied, "They are two Pegasus ponies, Rainbow Blitz and Firefly."
Stormy realized, "I know about those two. Rainbow Blitz's father is a member of the weather team that contained half of the storms you accidentally created. His mother is a Unicorn that acts as a rep for most of the Elite of Canterlot."
Storm Breaker asked, "What about Firefly?"
Stormy replied to her son, "Firefly's family is a more daring type of family. Her mother is a member of the Wonderbolts. A Daredevil team of pegasi who perform tricks. Her father is very loyal to what he does and fills in for his wife from time to time. It must be very good to have them as friends. I'm so proud of you, Storm Breaker."
Storm Breaker nodded, "I guess I'm really starting to fit in with society."
After many years of going to school, and hanging out with Firefly and Rainbow Blitz, Storm Breaker graduated Canterlot High and started a new life trying to find something that suits him. He did manage to control his storm abilities as he got older. He wandered around Canterlot, looking for a job that might need his expertise until he came across an enlistment poster. He read,
"Want to live your life on the edge? Join the Wonderbolt Academy and train for Equestria's greatest Daredevil aerial squadron." He thought about going to the Wonderbolt Academy until he remembered all of his times in the skies with Firefly and that lightning twirl he did. So he decided,
"Wonderbolt Academy could be the place for me." So he immediately took action and wrote a letter to the Academy requesting to be signed up.
It wasn't until a few days later when he got a message from the Academy itself. He opened it up and read,
"Dear Mr. Storm Breaker,
We have known about you for a long time since your friend is the daughter of one of our Wonderbolts. We know about how you manage with your potentials, but we need to see it for ourselves. We accept your request to join the Academy. You will receive five weeks of training at the Academy itself as well as a roommate for your barracks. At the end of the fifth week, you will present your skills to one of our instructors so they can evaluate you. Be at the Academy tomorrow at 0900 to begin your training.
We will appreciate your presence. Captain Twister."
As he finished reading, he was shocked at the idea that the Academy accepted him. But he was in awe that they know him because of his friendship with Firefly. He shook off his shock and payed attention to the instructions. He has to be at the Academy at 0900 to begin his training.
Storm Breaker took off from Canterlot and followed the instructions on the map that was in the letter, although the Academy was tough to locate. He kept trying and trying again to find that place until he came to a plateau with an airfield on top of it. He checked the map and realized that this is the Wonderbolt Academy. As soon as he landed, he came face to face with his new instructor, Captain Twister. The Captain noticed the dragon and said,
"Ah, Storm Breaker, Welcome to the Wonderbolt Academy. I'm Captain Twister, the Pegasus who sent you that message."
Storm Breaker looked around then back at the Captain and said, "Captain, When do I start my training?"
Twister replied, "Well, since you have been waiting patiently, you shall begin your training at once." He gave Storm Breaker a training suit, "You are going to need this. All cadets are assigned a training suit before training starts."
Storm Breaker nodded as he slipped into his suit. Twister noted, "Well, usually a Pegasus would fit in it. But for a dragon like you, it fits you like a glove."
Storm Breaker snapped his wing into a salute and asked, "Where should I start, sir?"
Twister pointed to a line of cadets, "You will join those cadets as I introduce you to them. But remain at my side until I tell you to join them."
The Dragon nodded as he and the captain walked to the cadets.
As they approached, all cadets stood in attention as Captain Twister began to say,
"All right, cadets. Now I heard rumors that a new member would join you in training." One cadet raised her wing as he called to her, "Care to explain what that rumor is?"
The Cadet replied, "Sir, we heard rumors that our new member in training is a dragon."
Twister replied, "Well, I came to inform you that those rumors are true." He gestured to Storm Breaker as he approached while flexing his Pegasus-like wings. "This is Storm Breaker, he's a dragon from Canterlot who became quite the celebrity because of his wings." The cadets began to gasp at the sight of his wings as one whispered,
"He's the dragon with the Pegasus wings."
Another said, "I knew this dragon from high school."
Twister noticed the gasps, "And if you knew him from high school, you can discuss it with him during lunch." He told the dragon, "Cadet Storm Breaker, join your group."
Storm Breaker joined the group as Twister now ordered, "Today we will be doing basic flight techniques while performing stunts. Since this is his first day, Storm Breaker should go up."
Storm Breaker flexed his wings again, "Yes sir."
He stepped out on to the tarmac as he closed his eyes. He felt the air surge from beneath his wings as they started to flap. As he flapped his wings, the air lifted him off the ground as he opened his eyes. He sped into the sky and made continuous fly-bys. Each fly-by had a different trick: When Storm Breaker passed the first time, he barrel rolled and passed by in a tight angle. When he passed by a second time, he performed his traditional Lightning Twirl. He performed the twirl when he pointed his nose to the ground and pulled up spinning in a perfect twirl and ignited in lightning bolts.
After many passes, he landed back at the academy in front of a very shocked group of cadets and the Captain. Storm Breaker asked,
"Are you going to send somepony else up?"
Twister snapped out of his trance, "Of course, Storm Breaker. Next cadet!"
During Lunch, Storm Breaker ordered an ordinary tomato and cheese sandwich with a side of grapes and a cup of Apple Cider. He sat at his table and began to eat until a cadet sat at the table with him. She said,
"I saw that little performance you did, Storm. I got to admit, that was awesome!"
Storm Breaker asked, "I didn't have to show off that much..." He remembered that voice, "Firefly, is that you?"
Firefly lifted her goggles, "Yeah, its me, dude. Man, fresh out of high school and you already came here."
Storm Breaker nodded, "I know, right?" He asked, "What happened to Rainbow Blitz, Twilight Velvet and the rest of the gang from High School?"
Firefly replied, "Well, I heard that Blitz is somewhere around the Academy. All in all, I haven't heard much of Twilight Velvet or the rest of the old gang from High School."
Storm Breaker replied, "Maybe we can look them up after we're finished training."
Firefly said, "After I find Blitz, I'll pounce on him like what happened after school."
Storm Breaker chuckled, "Yeah, you two crazy ponies always had it in for each other."
After Lunch, Storm Breaker was sent to the Dizzytron for some reason. He watched as many cadets went on that thing and got off really dizzy, He noticed a cadet puke his guts out when he got off that thing. It was now Storm Breaker's turn for the Dizzytron, he stood up without a frightened look on his face. He was strapped in and prepared himself for his cycle. As the Dizzytron started, the Dragon felt a powerful electricity power building in his wings, combined with his storm powers. Just as the Dizzytron reached its peak speed, Storm Breaker broke out and caused a massive storm above the Dizzytron. After that, he saw the accident he created and contained the storm he created. He noticed that the storm wrecked the Dizzytron in the process. He saw the shocked looks on the cadets' faces even the captain and instructors were shocked. Captain Twister shook off the shock and said,
"Storm Breaker, your training session today is done. Report to your barracks." Twister gave Storm Breaker the instructions to his barracks.
Storm Breaker arrived at his new barracks and entered. He remembered that he would have a roommate in his barracks, so he waited until the door opened and a familiar Pegasus mare entered,
"Firefly, You're my roommate?"
Firefly replied, "Well, I wanted to tell you over Lunch, but you had something more important to do."
Storm Breaker asked, "That incident at the Dizzytron....am I dangerous?"
Firefly was about to reply until the door opened and a Pegasus stallion entered with a very familiar voice and Rainbow mane. He replied,
"Storm, I saw what happened at the Dizzytron. It seems that you destroyed the machine."
Storm Breaker was shocked, "Rainbow Blitz, how did you find me?"
Rainbow Blitz replied, "Captain Twister asked me to speak with you about that accident. So, We decided that training of both you and Firefly will be reduced to two weeks."
Firefly asked seductively, "So that's why I couldn't find you. You've become an instructor."
Blitz replied, "So it may seem."
Storm Breaker asked, "So, Blitz. Have you heard from Twilight Velvet or any other members of the old gang from High School?"
Blitz replied, "Twilight Velvet has a job in Canterlot. She is dating a guard lieutenant named Nightlight. Our friend from the Apple Family returned to Ponyville to run Sweet Apple Acres."
Firefly said, "At least we managed to learn what happened to our friends from the gang."
In the next two weeks without a sudden drawback from Storm Breaker's abilities; The Big Day came for his evaluation. Storm Breaker looked at Blitz, who is the instructor who is evaluating him and then back at the tarmac. He knew that Firefly scored a perfect score on her evaluation chart, but now its time for the dragon's turn.
He performed the same take-off technique from his first day at the Academy and lifted off the ground. He started with basic flying techniques until he moved on and performed a Split-S. He moved fast for a dragon, almost too fast to see for the spectators on the ground. He performed a Hammerhead and caused a bunch of lightning sparks to be left in his wake. He decided to pull out a finale trick by performing the same Lightning Twirl and amazed the cadets down on the tarmac. He was better than everypony else, even better than the instructors. He touched back down on the tarmac as Blitz said in shock,
"Storm Breaker, you are more greater at flying than during High School. You passed evaluation. Storm Breaker, you are now a Wonderbolt."
A cadet raised his hoof, "But if he's a Dragon, won't that make him a dragon Wonderbolt?"
Blitz replied, "You are right. Storm Breaker is Equestria's First Dragon Wonderbolt."
A cadet began to asked, "Permission to cheer for Storm Breaker?"
Blitz replied, "Permission granted."
That cadet shouted, "Hey, THREE CHEERS FOR STORM BREAKER!!!!" The cadets cheered as they crowded around him. Storm Breaker felt happy that many ponies cheered for him because of the title. A Rare Feather Winged Dragon made history as the First Dragon Wonderbolt.
In the months that followed, Storm Breaker became an excellent Wonderbolt for a Dragon. In the performances, Storm Breaker would appear with his squadron as they performed a Joint Lightning Twirl, one of Storm Breaker's teamwork moves for him and his friends. On his off-duty hours, he took a job on the Weather Team and most pegasi were astonished by his ability to control a storm or just have it rain lightly. In other times, Storm Breaker was seen hanging out with his two friends, Firefly and Rainbow Blitz until they got a letter from a mail pony. Firefly asked,
"Its a letter for all three of us. We better see who its from." Storm Breaker opened the letter as he read,
"Dear Rainbow Blitz, Storm Breaker, and Firefly,
Its been a long time since we hung out, but now we are going to throw a Reunion Celebration at Sweet Apple Acres. We had to set up with the decorations because we sent this letter out a day early and hoping that it will get to you soon. But we are also going to bring our families to the Reunion, so you could meet them. It is specifically our kids. If you want to come to the Reunion, its at Sweet Apple Acres.
4pm-6pm.
Sincerely, Twilight Velvet."
Storm Breaker said, "Our friends are throwing a Reunion at Sweet Apple Acres."
Blitz replied, "And we better head there immediately."
Firefly asked, "They mentioned that they brought their new families?"
Storm Breaker smiled, "I guess they found somepony special, got married and had filly or colt."
Blitz replied, "Then we should head for the Train Station and head for Ponyville."
They reached the Train Station and caught a train to Ponyville so they could get to Sweet Apple Acres. The train ride to Ponyville was tough especially when a bunch of mares fainted due to Storm Breaker's Wings or his title. When they reached their cabin, Blitz said,
"All those mares fainted because of your wings, Romeo."
Storm Breaker replied, "Every mare has been like that, with the exception of Firefly and Twilight Velvet."
Firefly said, "I've known you since 1st grade, I wouldn't faint for you now."
Blitz asked, "Ever think you might settle down with somepony, Storm?"
Storm Breaker replied, "Well, there is possibility that Pony/Dragon relationships are possible, but I've only seen them in books."
Blitz began to said, "Well, I think I might know somepony that you might like." That was when the train began putting on the brakes as Firefly looked out the window and said,
"Why are we stopping?"
Storm Breaker opened the door, "We have to head for the front of the train to check it out."
The Train Engineer was having a tough time because he was trying to get to Ponyville to offload the passengers until a rock destroyed the track. Now without any tracks, they can't move and if they can't move, they are stuck. That wasn't until the Engineer saw a dragon followed by two pegasi and the conductor. The Conductor said,
"I told them that this area is off-limits, but they wouldn't listen."
Storm Breaker turned to the conductor, "We're trying to find out what's happened, so its basically an issue. And if its an issue, we can solve it."
The Engineer recognized the dragon, "The Popular Storm Breaker the Dragon.....on this train?"
Blitz replied, "We were on our way to a Reunion at Sweet Apple Acres, but you could use our help."
The Engineer told the Conductor, "Its okay, we might need their help."
Storm Breaker looked at the clouds and at the tracks and said, "If we cover the gap with the clouds, the train could roll right across, but...."
Blitz finished, "A unicorn would have to use the Cloud Walking Spell on the train, so it could safely roll across."
That's when a figure appeared from where Storm Breaker and the others came in. The figure was a white bearded wizard type unicorn who said,
"Perhaps, I could be of assistance." The Feather Winged Dragon turned to the Unicorn and asked,
"Who are you?" The unicorn introduced himself, "Starswirl the Bearded, at your service."
Firefly asked, "Do you know the Cloud Walking Spell?"
Starswirl replied, "I just returned from a world unlike anypony or dragon has ever seen. Right now, Fausticorn is sending a small team of researchers to this world. It was there, that I learned the Cloud Walking Spell from a very wise wizard."
Storm Breaker asked, "Can you use it?"
Starswirl nodded as the three took to the skies and assembled the clouds on the gap as Starswirl used the Cloud Walking Spell on the train as it moved across the clouds with no trouble whatsoever. The Train Engineer was shocked to see that the team work of two pegasi, a Feather Winged Dragon and a unicorn wizard kept the train moving across an impossible obstacle. As the trio landed onto the Engineer's cart, Storm Breaker was about to say thanks to Starswirl the Bearded until he didn't see him and realized,
"He just vanished."
Blitz replied, "He must be heading back to his seat."
Firefly said, "And that's where we should be heading, too."
As the Train arrived at the Ponyville Train Station, the trio disembarked and now went to Sweet Apple Acres, an apple orchard on the outskirts of town. Its also the home of Storm Breaker's friend in the Apple Family, he and his friends are hoping to see him again, although its been a long time since high school.
They were on the outskirts until they saw a forest of apple trees in their path as Firefly said, "We're almost there."
Storm Breaker was admiring the variety of apples in those trees and said, "I never thought I would see this place in person. But I bet these apple trees go on for miles."
Blitz nodded, "They sure do."
As soon as they traversed through the forest of apple trees, they came across a big red barn along with a house on the side. Storm Breaker asked,
"Is that it?"
Firefly replied, "Yep, We made it."
Blitz told his friends, "We better not keep them waiting any longer."
As they arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, they were curious by the sudden emptiness of the place until Storm Breaker looked at a sign as he read,
"For Storm Breaker, Blitz and Firefly, Look in the barn."
They did what the sign said as they went to the barn and opened the door, only to find their old friends from high school along with their families. Storm Breaker laughed,
"You guys, you been holding out until we got here haven't you."
Their friend from the Apple Family, Red replied, "Eeyup, that's us. We decided to have it in here."
Storm Breaker asked, "Why?"
Twilight Velvet approached, "So you can show us your ability to control the weather."
Blitz said, "We should get to know the families first."
Nightlight approached along with a small unicorn colt with a white coat, and blue mane with a light blue streak. Nightlight introduced,
"This is our son, Shining Armor."
Storm Breaker replied as he held out his wing, "Nice to meet you, Shining Armor."
The colt spoke as he shook his wing, "My mom has told me everything about you."
Storm Breaker asked, "So, no problems." The colt turned sad, "Its always lonely, I just wish I had a brother or sister to play with."
The Dragon assured, "If you believe in yourself and if you believe in your parents, your wish might come true."
Shining Armor hugged his foreleg, "Thank you, Uncle Storm Breaker!"
Nightlight and Twilight Velvet chuckled at the fact of Shining Armor's wish for a sibling as the colt released the dragon's leg.
He went over to Red and asked, "So, have you been harvesting apples around the acres?"
Red replied, "Eeyup, just me and mah son do the hard work."
Storm Breaker replied, "So, you have a son as well." A red colt with an orange mane appeared as Red introduced, "Big Macintosh, this is Storm Breaker. The best darn dragon I've ever known."
The colt nodded with a smile on his face as the dragon moved on.
After talking with most of his old friends and their families as Twilight Velvet asked Blitz,
"So, where is your sister by the way? We haven't seen or heard from her in a long time."
Blitz face-winged, "Our mom has always took her to represent these Canterlot Rich folk, She wants her to be a rep when she said that she doesn't want to."
Storm Breaker heard the conversation, "You have a sister?"
Blitz replied, "Yeah, Spectra. She's my unicorn sister, but she doesn't have the free will as I do. Mom is always trying to turn her into a representative for the Canterlot's 'elite ponies'. She never lets her off the hook....except for school."
Storm Breaker asked, "Any news?"
Blitz replied, "She graduated high school around the time that you came to the Academy. But I never spoke of you to her."
Storm Breaker realized, "She's a unicorn with a problem with free will. I feel sad for her."
Twilight Velvet asked, "Storm Breaker, have you ever had the idea of settling down?"
Storm Breaker replied, "Possibly, since I met Starswirl the Bearded onboard that train, Equestria itself is going to change."
Red asked, "How 'bout ya'll show us your stuff. We also need some rain to get the crops going for the Spring."
Storm Breaker nodded as he spread his wings and directed them forward at the clouds and started a down pour on the crops of Sweet Apple Acres. He lightened up the rain and commenced a light rain shower as the apple trees and crops were absorbing the water and almost half of the crops began to bloom.
As he finished up, a mail carrier appeared and said,
"Special delivery for Storm Breaker and his friends."
Storm Breaker took the letter from the mail carrier as the mail carrier flew away. The letter was actually a piece of rolled up parchment paper....with a seal of the Sun and Moon on it. Twilight Velvet said,
"That's the seal for Equestria. Whoever sent us this letter, it has to be somepony of great importance."
Storm Breaker open the letter and read, "Dear Storm Breaker and friends,
I've known about you for a long time ever since you were discovered as a rare dragon species. You have been very incredible with your decisions and how you remained with your friends through and through. Storm Breaker, you and your friends have been invited to the Grand Galloping Gala in Canterlot. This letter included tickets to the gala for you and your friends. The 'Elite' of Canterlot is hoping to see you and your friends as much as I am.
Yours sincerely, Princess Celestia."
Storm Breaker finished reading as he took out a bunch of tickets to the Gala and handed them to his friends. Until he found a PS,
"If you find an extra ticket, its for a plus one guest."
Storm Breaker thought about what to do with the ticket as he found out about Blitz's sister. He whispered as he gave his friend the extra ticket.
After that, Storm Breaker said, "My friends, this invitation to the gala is just the beginning."
As they came to the entrance to the Gala, the bouncer said, "Tickets please....." He noticed Storm Breaker,
"Mr. Storm Breaker and the rest of his friends, its an honor to meet you and have you here at the Grand Galloping Gala."
Storm Breaker said, "Take a chill pill, buddy. You asked us for our tickets." He and his friends held out their tickets as the bouncer calmed down and looked at the list and tickets,
"You are on the VIP list."
Firefly said, "Oh good."
Storm Breaker asked, "Have you seen a blue Pegasus stallion with a Rainbow Mane?"
The bouncer replied, "I saw Rainbow Blitz pass through along with the plus one. A blue Unicorn mare with a Rainbow Mane."
Storm Breaker said, "Thanks."
The bouncer stopped him one more time, "A talking Dragonfly was looking for you as well."
Firefly asked, "A talking Dragonfly?"
The bouncer said, "He is a lightning cloud colored dragonfly named, 'Thunder.' He apparently wants to speak with Storm Breaker. He went to the Gala Ballroom."
Red nodded, "Then we better find him."
The bouncer finished, "Again, Welcome to the Gala. Enjoy the party."
When they made it into the Gala, they paused near the stairs to the ballroom as Storm Breaker said,
"We have to find Blitz and this talking Dragonfly." A voice said,
"You wouldn't have to find the Dragonfly."
They turned around and saw the origin of the voice revealed to be a white Alicorn with a multi-colored mane. They shouted in surprise,
"Princess Celestia!?" They were shocked to see her along with a light grey light buzzing around her. She introduced the grey light,
"This is Thunder, the dragonfly that you were told about. He apparently wants to accompany you through the gala."
Thunder buzzed up to Storm Breaker and said, "Well, I guess we are going to be partners at this gala."
Storm Breaker chuckled, "You got that right." Princess Celestia said, "Enjoy the Gala." They walked past her and proceeded to the Gala Ballroom.
After entering the gala ballroom, Storm Breaker and his friends searched for Blitz and his plus one. Thunder the Dragonfly decided to talk with the dragon,
"So, we are trying to find your friend?"
Storm Breaker replied, "Yes, but the bouncer mentioned that he brought a Unicorn mare with the same colors he has."
Thunder pointed, "Isn't that Blitz right there?"
Storm Breaker said, "Yeah, that's him." He turned to the dragonfly, "Can you find the others and tell them that we found him?"
Thunder saluted, "On my way." The dragonfly sped off as Storm Breaker approached his longtime friend. Blitz noticed,
"Storm Breaker, you finally made it."
Storm Breaker replied, "Hey, I couldn't go to this gala without knowing that my best friend is here."
Blitz said, "By the way, somepony wants to meet you." He moved away and the dragon saw a beautiful unicorn mare with a cyan color and Rainbow mane, just like Blitz. Storm Breaker said in surprise,
"Wow."
Blitz introduced, "Storm Breaker, this is my twin sister, Spectra. Spectra, this is my friend, Storm Breaker."
Spectra smiled, "Its....nice to meet you, Storm Breaker."
Storm Breaker blushed, "Its....nice to meet you as well, Spectra."
Thunder arrived with the rest of the gang as the dragon and unicorn left. Twilight Velvet said to Blitz,
"I guess you've introduced your sister to Storm Breaker."
Blitz replied, "Its the best I could do for her despite Mom's constant bombing of the elegant life for her. Its nice for her to have some free will."
Firefly asked, "Do you think they would be perfect for each other?"
Blitz replied, "Only time will tell."
As Spectra and Storm Breaker went outside to the courtyard, Spectra said,
"So tell me about yourself."
Storm Breaker replied, "When I was a hatchling, I was abandoned by the dragons because of my Pegasus-like wings. My mother, Stormy found me and brought me to the academy for a medical examination. I got the name 'Storm Breaker' after I sneezed and accidently caused a storm to break out."
Spectra realized, "My father controlled that unscheduled storm before Blitz and I were born."
Storm Breaker then told Spectra about how he felt different in a city full of elegant ponies. His first grade story on how he stopped a 'have a nice trip' prank on his first day. How he met Blitz and Firefly, his pals from high school and how he became the first dragon Wonderbolt. But he also explained how he was unloved by dragons, but loved by ponies.
Spectra felt sad on the sad parts of Storm Breaker's story, he was abandoned as a hatchling, and unloved by dragons. Spectra decided to say,
"If it wasn't for your mother, we would've never met."
Storm Breaker said, "Thanks." Spectra leaned her head on Storm Breaker's flight suit as he felt something, he never felt before...it was love. Spectra began to tell her story,
"Blitz and I were inseparable until my Mom took me to those rep meetings with the rich and glamorous of Canterlot. I tried going through everything to make sure that I won't turn into one of them until Blitz told me about a new friend he made in first grade......it was you he was talking about."
Storm Breaker asked, "What happened after you heard of me for the first time?"
Spectra replied as she blushed, "I didn't know what you looked like at first, but my heart soared when I heard about you. I even had dreams about you and me meeting for the first time."
Storm Breaker said, "Well, your dream has come true. We meet here for the first time."
Spectra frowned, "But when my parents found out about you, they began to grow jealous of you. Mom didn't like you because your wings and technique made you more famous than the 'Elite' of Canterlot, but you are more elite than they are. Dad became jealous when you joined the weather team and helped the team with forming storms."
Storm Breaker realized, "I guess I became more famous than I realize."
Spectra smiled as she nudged his side, "Why don't we go inside and dance the night away."
Storm Breaker nodded, "After you, Lady Spectra."
Spectra replied, "Thank you, Sir Storm Breaker."
The couple entered the Gala Ballroom as their friends gathered around as Spectra and Storm Breaker began to dance. Soon, music began to play, but it wasn't like the traditional Gala music. It was different as Spectra began to sing.
Spectra and Storm Breaker: "Through the clouds there is a light.
We will find a way.
I would die for you.
Cross the sky for you.
I will send out a light burning for you alone.
You're all I need.
You set me free.
And this fire would Guide You Home."
Storm Breaker: "There is an open door.
Somehow it feels so familiar.
We have been here before."
Both: "Through this old forgotten fight.
There must be a way.

Cross the sky for you.
I will send out a light burning for you alone.
You're all I need.
You set me free.
And this fire will Guide You Home." The music started to heat up after that second verse,
Both: "Where our hearts are wide open.
Where our bond is unbroken."
Spectra: "I would die for you.
Cross the sky for you.
I will send a light burning for you alone." The music softened up a little until it grew again,
Both: "I would die for you.
Cross the sky for you.
I will send out a light burning for you alone."
Spectra: "You're all I need."
Storm Breaker: "You set me free."
Blitz, Firefly and others decided to sing which caused the entire Gala to sing,
Entire Gala: "I would die for you.
Cross the sky for you.
I will wait for you.
And I'll stay with you."
Spectra and Storm Breaker as the Gala continued the same chorus line, "You're all I need.
You set me free." The Gala began ahhhing the final chorus line.
Spectra and Storm Breaker: "Set me free.
And this fire will Guide You...."
Spectra: "Home."
The music ended as the entire Gala cheered as the couple ended the song with a kiss. Blitz clearly saw his sister and his best friend as a great couple. He smiled at the fact that true love will always be the most powerful thing. He and the others all know about it as well.
Sometime after the Grand Galloping Gala, Blitz has noticed a love-struck trance in his twin sister. He smiled because he knows that she's in love with his Best Friend. He always saw her staring at a poster of Storm Breaker while humming 'Guide You Home,' he decided to ask,
"Spectra, you are in love with Storm Breaker?"
Spectra snapped out of her trance and said, "Yes, I am in love with Storm Breaker. He is a kind gentledrake and his life story was sad and soon I realized that I had a sad life story as well."
Blitz realized, "All the times, Mom took you to those meetings of Canterlot's Elegant Ponies."
Spectra frowned, "Those were the most boring hours of my life. I can't stand being in another one again. Storm Breaker is my light at the end of the tunnel."
Blitz asked, "If you love him so much, I could convince him to marry you."
Spectra replied, "But, if Mom and Dad find out about me marrying Storm Breaker. They won't be too happy about having a dragon for an in-law. But I love that dragon. I don't have to listen to what they say anymore."
Blitz said, "That's my sister. Able to reject the elegant lifestyle to follow her heart."
Spectra wondered, "But I wonder if Storm Breaker is thinking about me?"
At Sweet Apple Acres, Storm Breaker was caught in a love-struck trance as Red asked,
"Hey Lover boy, are the Apple Pies done?"
The Feather Winged Dragon didn't respond as he continued his love-struck trance. Red realized that the dragon wasn't paying attention and the oven started to burn,
"Storm Breaker, Ya'll burnin' the pies!"
That instantly snapped him out of his trance as the dragon turned the oven off and brought the partially burnt pies out of the oven. Red said,
"Its not the pies, ya wer thinkin' 'bout Spectra, again."
Storm Breaker replied, "Well, I am thinking about her more often now."
Red asked, "Then why haven't ya proposed to her? Ya practically told her yer life story."
Storm Breaker replied, "Well, Red, I'm a Dragon and she's a pony. I don't even know how it would work out."
Red asked, "But ya do love her, right?"
Storm Breaker smiled, "I do love her. I love her so much." The Dragon realized, "You're right, Red. I should marry her."
Blitz appeared, "Well, I guess convincing you is out of the question. Because Spectra wanted me to convince you to marry her."
Storm Breaker noticed, "Blitz, you want me to marry your sister?"
Blitz replied, "You've been my best friend since 1st grade. There's no way I could turn on you now."
Storm Breaker told Blitz, "Tell Spectra that I'll marry her." Blitz took off to tell Spectra that Storm Breaker will marry her.
When he got home, Spectra was in tears of sadness because something must've happened when he was gone. Blitz asked,
"Spectra, what happened?"
Spectra replied, "They found out about my love for Storm Breaker."
Blitz said, "Oh no. What did they do to you?"
Spectra leaned her head on the poster of Storm Breaker, "They've arranged a marriage to a snotty rich unicorn stallion...my marriage."
Blitz realized, "Those no good, dream destroying excuses for parents!"
Spectra replied, "Its also rare to see Dad collaborating with the Elegant Ponies."
Blitz said, "I'm going to bring Firefly over, so we can discuss this."
Spectra asked, "But what about Storm Breaker? What did he say?"
Blitz smiled, "Storm Breaker wants to marry you."
Spectra's tears of sadness turned to tears of joy, hugged her brother and said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Blitz replied, "I'll bring your real fiancé here, so we could discuss our plan."
Spectra smiled, "I want to be with Storm Breaker."
Blitz replied, "You will."
After gathering Firefly and Storm Breaker, Blitz discussed what has happened while Spectra and Storm Breaker nudge each other. Storm Breaker was shocked that Spectra and Blitz's parents found out about him and arranged Spectra's marriage in anger. But the only way to stop this marriage is to convince Spectra and Blitz's parents that Storm Breaker is Spectra's True Love. Spectra said,
"I was forcefully engaged, but no longer." She turned to Storm Breaker, "I want to be with you."
The Feather Winged Dragon replied as he lowered himself, "Spectra, will you...marry me?"
The Unicorn smiled as she said, "Yes, yes I will marry you."
Until a voice from the door said, "No, you won't!"
It was Spectra's mother who brought Spectra's 'Fake' Fiancé. Spectra stood scared as Storm Breaker took his battle stance between Spectra and her mother. Blitz and Firefly joined in as well. Her mother said,
"She is already engaged with this handsome stallion. So, you should stay away from her and be out of her life, Dragon."
Storm Breaker smiled, "Not a chance, she wanted to marry me because its her choice." He eyed Spectra's Fake Fiancé, "And the name is Storm Breaker." He let out a good shock on the unicorn stallion as the stallion said,
"I'll just wait outside." He walked out the door.
Spectra's mother said, "Why you...."
Blitz said, "Mom, Spectra has had a crush on Storm Breaker since I first talked about him. She's been in love with Storm Breaker because of his good deeds."
Another voice said from the door, "The dragon has caused nothing but trouble since he first showed up."
Blitz sneered, "Dad."
Spectra and Blitz's Dad said, directing his attention to Storm Breaker, "Every storm that appeared was caused by this dragon and this dragon alone."
Spectra replied, "I'm aware of Storm's past, but its just your jealousy of him, talking and not you in general."
Storm Breaker stood up, "Our love for each other is too great to be separated."
Firefly spoke, "If you force Spectra to marry that snotty, no-good, petty excuse for a gentlecolt, I swear you would be sorry for messing with us."
Blitz and Spectra's dad asked, "Why is that?"
Storm Breaker said, "When you are a famous Feather Winged Dragon, who earned a lot of titles, you know someponies."
After a heated argument, the four have left the house and Spectra went to live with Storm Breaker at his house. While Rainbow Blitz and Firefly went to tell the only Alicorn capable of helping them.
A group of guards led Blitz and Firefly to the throne room where they met the Alicorn, Fausticorn, Princess Celestia's mother. She noticed the two and said,
"Greetings, young ponies. What brings you to request an audience with me?"
Blitz asked, "Your Highness, do you remember Storm Breaker the Feather Winged Dragon?"
Fausticorn replied, "Yes, the young dragon with Pegasus-like wings. A strange, but gifted type of dragon."
Firefly spoke, "He and Blitz's sister, Spectra want to get married, but Spectra's parents in protest arranged a marriage with a Unicorn stallion."
Fausticorn gasped, "Why would they do such a thing?"
Blitz spoke, "They don't like Storm Breaker out of jealousy."
Fausticorn replied, "Jealousy is always its own weapon. But I will help you."
Firefly asked, "How?" Fausticorn used her magic to open an observation portal to world beyond anyponies' imagination. She said,
"This is Skylands, a majestic world of floating islands except for the only whole continent, Avalar."
Blitz asked, "You mean, send both Spectra and Storm Breaker to Skylands?"
Fausticorn nodded, "But you better act fast because the portal between Skylands and Equestria closes next week. I also have to go there because the Portal Master, Eon has requested me to come on a very important matter."
Blitz asked, "Your highness, If they accept, would we ever see them again?"
Fausticorn smiled, "The Portal to Skylands opens once every two years."
After convincing Spectra and Storm Breaker to move to Skylands, Fausticorn opened the portal to Skylands and the couple entered and ran away to Skylands. Blitz narrated his experience after having them move to Skylands,
"There was a wedding at Eon's Citadel near the Core of Light and I was honored to be the Best Stallion." He looked at Spectra, who was wearing a Wedding Veil and Storm Breaker, who was wearing a bowtie,
"Spectra and Storm Breaker are truly a match made in Equestria. We succeeded in bringing them together, but now I'm just wondering how would I confront my parents when I return home." He looked at Firefly,
"Firefly and I are together and we were always there to help Storm Breaker. Firefly was his roommate at the Wonderbolt Academy and I was his evaluator." He looked at Fausticorn, who was now pronouncing them husband and wife, and back at Firefly,
"Maybe I could propose to Firefly and ask Fausticorn to marry us in Skylands. But I won't know how it would happen."
He looked at his friends from High School, "But at least our friends from Equestria came here to watch this special occasion."
After Spectra and Storm Breaker kissed, they walked to the airship for their Honeymoon, not before Spectra said to her brother,
"Good-Bye, Blitz. I'll miss you." She hugged her brother as she cried tears of joy. Firefly spoke,
"We'll see you guys again in two years."
Twilight Velvet spoke, "And when those two years come around."
Red said, "We'll be around for a reunion."
Nightlight said, "We'll miss you guys."
Storm Breaker noticed a camera, "How about we take a picture of this moment, so we can remember this?"
They all got into a formation as Thunder the Dragonfly set a timer for the camera as he said,
"Say Skylands!"
Everypony and dragon yelled, "Skylands!" As the photo snapped. As they got out of formation, Blitz decided,
"Firefly..."
Firefly replied, "Yes, Blitz?"
Blitz lowered, "Will you.....Marry me?"
Firefly smiled, "Well, we did agree not to get married unless Spectra and Storm Breaker do. So, yes I will marry you."
After a second wedding, Master Eon set the Portal of Power to Equestria as Firefly, Rainbow Blitz and the rest of their friends waved bye to Spectra and Storm Breaker. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After all the weddings were over, Master Eon spoke to Fausticorn,
"You know why I called you here?"
Fausticorn shook, "No, Master Eon." The Portal Master led the Alicorn into his citadel and entered a chamber where a small nest containing a purple and green Dragon Egg lies unattended. Master Eon said,
"This Dragon Egg contains a rare breed of dragon that has the power to wield many abilities. But most other dragons master a single element, this dragon can master four."
Fausticorn asked, "Where are the parent dragons?"
Master Eon had a frown on his face, "They....were....slaughtered by the remnants of the Dark Master's forces after the war. This egg was the only thing left when I got there."
Fausticorn looked at the egg, "You want me to take the egg back to Equestria?"
Master Eon nodded, "You raise the Purple Dragon under your care or under somepony else's care. But the choice is up to you, your highness."
Fausticorn magically picked up the egg as she asked, "How often does a Purple Dragon's birth occur?"
The Portal Master replied, "Once every 200 years, but this one was laid in the nest four years after the previous Purple Dragon, who is lost somewhere throughout Skylands, still at a young stage."
Fausticorn placed the egg in her saddlebag, "I'll take the egg back to Equestria. And I know a pony who has faced centuries of sadness."
Eon replied, "Your daughter, Princess Celestia has faced centuries of sadness after losing her sister."
Fausticorn replied, "And maybe this hatchling will bring her a little bit of happiness when it hatches."
Meanwhile on the Airship to Avalar, Spectra and Storm Breaker were sitting on the port side of the ship, staring at the moonlight of Skylands. Because they are finally married, they sung 'Guide You Home' as they watched the moonlight. They know that they would return to Equestria in the next two years and visit their friends.
After Spectra and Storm Breaker got married in Skylands, The portal to Equestria closed, trapping the newly weds in Skylands. They didn't mind because they could start anew in Skylands. They have contributed to the inhabitants of their new home, Avalar and learned how to live in this new world they call home. Until two years later, the Portal to Equestria reopened, Spectra and Storm Breaker visited Master Eon's Citadel to request that he opens a the gateway to Equestria since the bridge is opened. Spectra was wearing a saddlebag with a light-blue and blue egg inside. Storm Breaker asked the Portal Master,
"Can you open a gateway to Equestria, so we can visit our friends and relatives?"
Master Eon replied, "Its been two years and the bridge is opened. So, you will return to Equestria to visit."
Spectra replied, "Thank you, Master Eon."
Master Eon activated the Portal of Power as the now expectant parents stepped onto the portal. They disappeared in a flash of light.
Rainbow Blitz and his heavily pregnant wife, Firefly were relaxing on a cloud, thinking about their unborn foal and what to name it until a flash of light emitted from a nearby cloud which got Blitz and Firefly's attention as Blitz remembered,
"Its been two years." He smiled, "They are coming back."
Firefly replied, "I'm glad we told Red about this year because he and his wife are preparing a welcome back celebration."
Blitz replied, "I would ask what they were up to in Skylands."
The orb hit the cloud floor and exploded, revealing the silhouettes of a Dragon and a Unicorn. As the lights faded, Spectra and Storm Breaker appeared, standing on the clouds, which caught a confused look from Blitz and Firefly. Since Spectra was not a Pegasus, how did she even walk on clouds. Blitz greeted his brother-in-law,
"Storm, You're back after two years."
Storm Breaker moved the cloud towards them, "Its been two years since we left and look at us now."
Firefly spoke, "Blitz and I are having a foal, but I could go into labor at anytime."
Spectra opened her saddlebag revealing the egg, "This egg conceives our child which would soon be your future nephew or niece. We do everything to protect it."
Storm Breaker asked, "What happened to your parents, Blitz?"
Blitz replied, "After I told them that Spectra is gone and safe from them, they were mad that you married her. But they were angry that she ran away with you to Skylands."
Spectra asked, "So are they still mad?"
Blitz replied, "I asked them that myself and they said something that I never thought they would ever say. They have forgiven you."
Spectra was shocked, "They....forgave me?"
Blitz continued, "After you and Storm ran away, They did research on Storm himself and all of the impossible things he has done and achieved. That's when they found out that they were wrong for taking advantage of your life and realized that it was their jealousy talking rudely about him."
Storm Breaker smiled, "I'm glad that they didn't remain jealous forever."
Firefly said, "Red and the others are throwing a Reunion Party at Sweet Apple Acres when this year came around."
Spectra said, "Lets head Sweet Apple Acres."
As they left the clouds and went to Sweet Apple Acres for the reunion, they realized that Equestria has changed since they had been gone. It was nice to see it again after two years of living in Skylands. But what might happen if the egg hatches and a Unicorn/Dragon Hybrid is seen wandering around Equestria? But that would be for another time.
As they arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, they saw a bunch of their friends gathered there. They were actually prepared for their return and Red pointed out,
"Well, Howdy, Storm Breaker. And to ya'll as well, Spectra."
Storm said, "Good to see you again, old friend."
Nightlight asked, "So, what's been happening in Skylands?"
Storm replied, "We have been contributing to our home for two years and soon enough, we have an egg conceiving our child inside Spectra's saddlebag."
Spectra showed the egg to their friends as they were awed by its appearance. Spectra asked, "What have you guys been doing?"
Red's wife approached, "Well, I'm heavily pregnant with our second child."
Twilight Velvet approached, "Nightlight and I are having another foal. Shining Armor's wish for a brother/sister is finally coming true."
Storm said, "I guess he believed in you two."
After introductions, they got down to the reunion celebration and began to rekindle their time apart as they chatted about what happened after they left for Skylands. They also noticed about the mysterious disappearance of Fausticorn, the Alicorn that helped Spectra and Storm Breaker, she went to Skylands, but never returned because the bridge closed. But wherever she is in Skylands, she knows that she helped them get together. But while Storm Breaker was talking with Firefly, he heard a dripping noise from her, he looked down and saw the ground was wet, he realized something,
"Firefly......YOUR WATER BROKE!!!!" He called to Blitz, "BLITZ, FIREFLY'S WATER JUST BROKE!!"
Blitz zipped over and asked Firefly, "The baby is coming?"
Firefly felt a contraction and said, "Yes, its coming!"
Red and Nightlight approached as the unicorn said, "Our wives are already going into labor!"
Spectra, who felt a shaking sound in her saddlebag, asked Red, "Do you have a wagon? Because We need one right now to get them to the hospital."
Red replied, "We have a wagon big enough for the three!"
Storm Breaker replied, "Lets hurry!" He quickly followed Red to where the wagon is and brought it the wives in Labor, they loaded them up and Red began pulling the wagon while Storm Breaker pushed it. Spectra told the Dragon,
"The egg is beginning to hatch!"
Red spoke from the front, "Storm, Ah'll handle this, Go back to Sweet Apple Acres and get Macintosh. He needs to be around when this happens."
Nightlight spoke, "And head for Canterlot and get Shining Armor. He was left with a foal-sitter at our house. And hurry!"
Storm Breaker spread his wings, "I'm on it." He took to the skies back to Sweet Apple Acres and they saw him take off again, carrying a Red colt.
Storm Breaker and Macintosh journeyed to Canterlot to pick up Shining Armor from the foal-sitter and tell him what is happening. Storm Breaker used his enhanced vision to find Nightlight and Twilight Velvet's house, he found it marked in yellow because of his vision. He told the colt,
"Hang on, Mac."
The colt said, "Eeyup." The dragon sped to the house and opened the door and noticed the foal-sitter and the young Shining Armor as he said,
"Uncle Storm Breaker, you're back!"
Storm Breaker smiled briefly before he said to the foal-sitter, "I need to take him to the Ponyville Hospital. Family Emergency."
The foal-sitter realized what was happening so she said, "I understand. So you better hurry."
As he took off again with Mac and Shining Armor on his back, the Unicorn Colt asked,
"What is happening?"
Storm asked, "Remember when you told me that you wished for a brother/sister?"
Shining Armor replied, "Yes, I did."
Storm replied, "Consider your wish granted."
Shining Armor joyfully said, "I'm going to have a brother/sister!"
Storm added, "Macintosh is also going to have a brother/sister as well."
The Earth Pony colt replied, "Eeyup."
When they arrived at the Ponyville Hospital, they saw the wagon, arriving at the hospital and all family members went inside. They moved quickly to send the parents in labor to the delivery room. After talking with the receptionist, they managed to get the wives in labor to the delivery room.
As Storm Breaker, Spectra, and the two colts waited in the waiting room, outside the delivery room, they heard the painful screams from the wives and the calming down tone that the husbands are telling them. Spectra and Storm Breaker looked at the hatching egg in the blanket as the two colts watched as well. After they heard Firefly's final scream along with a foal crying, a small wing broke through the eggshell. The same routine happened with Twilight Velvet as a small blue horn broke through the eggshell. When Red's wife screamed the final time followed by a foal's cry, the egg burst open and a baby Unicorn/Dragon Hybrid was lying in the blanket. Shining Armor said,
"Look at the little thing."
Storm Breaker looked closely at the newborn hybrid and realized, "Its a girl!"
Shining Armor said, "Look at its ears, their so pointy."
Macintosh replied, "Eeyup."
Spectra replied as she held the newborn hybrid in the blanket, "Her ears might be pointy, but she's a beautiful hybrid." It wasn't until Blitz, Nightlight and Red entered as Blitz asked,
"Storm, Spectra.....you want to meet your niece?"
After hearing it, they took their newborn hatchling to the hospital bed where Firefly was laying, and in her hooves, she was holding a newborn foal. It was a Cyan color with a Rainbow Mane. Firefly smiled as she whispered,
"She has her father's colors."
Spectra showed Firefly the hybrid as she said, "This is our new baby and your new niece."
Storm Breaker asked, "What are you going to name your foal?"
Blitz replied, "We already decided, so we are going to call her 'Rainbow Dash."
Spectra replied, "Rainbow Dash is a good name for your foal."
Blitz asked, "What about your hybrid hatchling?"
Storm Breaker replied, "We haven't decided yet."
Firefly spoke, "Our friends want to meet your little hybrid."
Storm looked at the hybrid, "I guess so."
They went to another hospital bedroom where Twilight Velvet was holding a purple Unicorn foal. Nightlight noticed the couple,
"Storm Breaker, we like you to meet our new daughter, Twilight Sparkle."
Storm gazed at the small foal in Velvet's hooves and smiled as he looked at the hybrid,
"This is our new hatchling, our daughter."
Velvet asked, "You haven't came up with a name yet?"
Spectra replied, "We have been trying, but we want to see the foals of our friends first."
Storm Breaker felt a tug on his leg as he saw Shining Armor as the colt said,
"Can you lift me up, so I can see my new sister, Uncle Storm Breaker?"
The dragon knelt down as the colt climbed onto his back to look at his new sister. As he saw her, he shed a tear of joy and said,
"You were right, Uncle. If I believed in my parents, I got my wish."
After he set Shining Armor down, he gazed at the hybrid hatchling who was basically sleeping in Spectra's magic. The hybrid seemed the let out a single squeak once in a while.
Velvet spoke, "You should show your daughter to Red, his wife and their new daughter."
Spectra and Storm Breaker brought their new hybrid daughter to the hospital room where Red's wife was cuddling a small orange Earth Pony foal with a blonde mane. Red noticed,
"Storm, Spectra, This is our new daughter."
Spectra asked, "What's her name?"
Red's Wife spoke, "Applejack. Her name is Applejack."
Storm Breaker replied, "It fits her perfectly."
Red asked, "What is your daughter's name?"
Storm Breaker frowned, "It is still undecided."
Red replied, "Ah understand."
Spectra spoke, "We made it this far since we were little."
Storm Breaker replied, "And now we have a daughter of our own."
Red spoke, "No matter what they say."
His wife finished, "Ya'll stay together. No matter what."
Storm Breaker looked at Macintosh looking at his newborn sister and said, "You gonna enjoy having a sister?"
Mac replied, "Eeyup."
Red complimented, "Spoken like a true uncle."
After checking everypony out of the hospital, the hybrid hatchling began to open her eyes and looked around. Firefly noticed,
"She's looking around."
Storm Breaker motioned Firefly to bring the little Rainbow Dash near the hybrid, the foal and the hatchling tilted their heads a bit until the hatchling's horn shot a rainbow over the foal as she laughed in enjoyment.
Storm Breaker realized, "I think I know what to call her now."
Nightlight asked, "What are you going to call her?"
Storm replied, "Whirlwind."
Spectra thought about it and said, "Whirlwind it is."
Velvet set the little Twilight Sparkle down next to the little Applejack and Rainbow Dash as the looked at Whirlwind. The foals smiled as they crawled to her and hugged Whirlwind. Storm Breaker said to the group of newborns,
"Welcome to family."
A voice from behind said, "The name, Whirlwind is a good name for a unique hybrid."
The group turned around and noticed the Human Portal Master, "Master Eon?"
Storm Breaker asked, "What are you doing here?"
Master Eon replied, "I came to inform you that the bridge that connects our worlds will be closing soon."
Spectra sighed, "I guess our visit is over."
Master Eon replied, "I'm afraid it is."
Storm Breaker spoke to his friends, "We need something to remember this moment."
Eon noticed the sadness on separating a family and said, "A photo of the four hugging should do well."
Storm Breaker got out a camera and gave it to Master Eon. Storm Breaker got into position with his family and friends in the back and their newborns in the front. Master Eon said,
"Say Family."
The group said, "Family." The picture was taken.
As they returned to Skylands, they knew that it will be a while before they visited again. But as they said to their friends, because of Whirlwind, they might not be able to return to Equestria. So Twilight Sparkle, Applejack and Rainbow Dash cannot know anything about Spectra, Storm Breaker and not even Whirlwind.
But they won't know about Whirlwind in the next few years when they have grown.
(Bonus Scene) One night at Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia, Goddess of the Sun and Ruler of Equestria was lying sad on her bed as she gazed at the moon, sad over the loss of her sister, Princess Luna, centuries ago. She lifted her wing up and gazed at what she was protecting for two years. A small Purple and Green Dragon egg that mysteriously appeared by her side, two years ago. She gazed at the egg and said,
"I hope that someday, you will be out of your shell and with me, your new mother."
She always hoped that someday the egg would finally hatch and she could actually care for the hatchling like the mother she is.
The hatchling smiled and let out a small tear of joy. She knelt down as the hatchling climbed into her saddlebag, she took off for Canterlot to bring the university her new discovery.
