The sun had just disappeared from the sky, making it dark. The lights in the small stone castle were dim as a young white stallion walked down the large corridor. The floor was cold and there were many doors, but the stallion knew where he was going. He was going to see his fiancee, the beautiful Sweet Tunes. Her mother taught her to play the violin and she was a prodigy. She was also a wealthy aorist, however the money wasn't the reason, it was the fact she was so sweet.

Soon a large brown door at the end of the hall was revealed through the dim light. He knew she had an important message, maybe about there wedding in a week. Maybe she was nervous. He himself was nervous and had to breath slowly before he opened the door. He opened it to see the light pink colored mare, Sweet Tones. A long thin smile formed across his face and he walked closer.

"Hello my Sweet." He greeted.

His smile faded as his fiancee wasn't smiling back and had a face of concern. He paused and looked at her, frowning now.

"Flicker we need to talk, now!" She cried, leading him to a secret room through the wall.

They both knew about this passage, it was lit with torches and there special place for private time. He followed her to the room at the end of the small hall. It was oak, a slight lighter color then the last. She opened it and went in, Flicker followed and looked to see a pile of blankets.

"They're coming Flicker, you may not know what, but I need you to do something, important." She explained.

The dull red stallion looked at the blankets as something stirred and he was startled by the sudden moment of the blankets. She lifted one and he came closer to see a small dark purple colt, it was strange, it already had a golden cutie mark, it was the symbol of Scorpio.

"Sweet Tunes, what is going on here?" Flicker asked looking at the young colt who looked weak.

She hesitated, "This is Scorpio, Flicker. I didn't cheat on you, so don't think that, but he is important. The Seferic is after him. They are dark ponies with hearts that are darker then night." A tear came from her eye and more came, "Flicker there coming. You have to take him far. They will kill him, the world needs him more then me. I know this is rash, and sudden, I-I was hoping I would have more time."

"Sweet, we will both go, come on pack-" Flicker began smiling until she cut him off.

"No!" She cried. "You have to go. I have to stay here, and... and perish. The world needs Scorpio more then me. You have to protect him... your his guardian. So please, take him and go!"

"But, Sweet." He was about to retort.

"Go! Now before they get here!" She cried.

He nodded and picked up two ends of the blanket and unraveled his wings, opening a window back in the main room and flew down to the forest. He turned back for a second to look at the window where the light still was. Tears left his face as he ran speedily through the trees, gripping the blanket tight. The colt whined, but he ignored it and just kept running, not wanting to look back.

Soon he hid the colt somewhere safe, making sure it was asleep and went back, back to the castle and flew through the big window only to see blood. His fiancee, dead, cuts on her throat and her eyes were open in terror and he closed them.

"You were always pretty when you sleep." He choked, tears leaving his face, and he left.

"Bye my Sweet."

It had been sixteen years and the young defenseless colt was now a young teenager who lived in Ponyville. Although he liked to talk and meet people, he liked the small town's quiet noises. There were hardly any loud bangs or booms, except for maybe the occasion parties. There were big crowds to get lost in and the cobblestone streets fit in with the town's look. It was a Saturday afternoon when Scorpio had decided to go out, even though the strange acting of his father. His father was strange after all, he wouldn't let him call him father, it was weird. However he shook off his thoughts and gazed at the fountain, it was lovely and he could see school ponies in front of it, but soon just turned and left.

It didn't matter how much he tried, he was far too different, instead of like the others, every since he was young he had his cutie, and still was unsure what it meant. His guardian wouldn't tell him, he even asked the teachers, but none recalled of the strange symbol. All they knew was that it was shaped like an M, but they didn't think that made a difference. He went down the empty streets, only hearing his hooves hit the ground. Snow began to fall, making him shiver with cold, he wasn't prepared for that. Instead of having a soothing walk home, he ran to get out of the cold before he got sick.

He got home sooner and open the door, walking into the porch and whipped off his hooves. Then he entered the kitchen to see that his guardian wasn't there. He could see a note on the table, he was probably going out for a while. Scorpio sighed and waited for his return.

It was dark and his guardian finally came through the door, he looked tired, and Scorpio had no idea why.

"Flicker where were you? Why are you home when it is dark? And don't say it is none of my business." Scorpio asked, but still knew he would get the repeated answer.

"It isn't your business Scorpio. Just stop questioning me whenever I get home." Flicker growled while Scorpio rolled his eyes, "Don't roll your eyes at me. I hope you behaved better today."

"Yeah, but it was an accident, I didn't mean to spill my drink on the mayor's new shirt, she over reacted." Scorpio retorted.

Soon Flicker just ignored and went down the hallway and into his office. Scorpio sighed, knowing he going back to his 'work'. It wasn't a real job, Scorpio honestly felt as though he just went in there to get away from him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was early morning and light leaked in through the window in Scorpio's room. Monday had come so soon and the alarm went off. Scorpio groaned and as though trying to block out the light lifted his blanket and stirred some more. However his eyes did open slowly and were still tired looking. He lifted off his blanket and shivered from the cold air that had wrapped around him in seconds. He disabled the alarm and hoped of the bed and out of his bedroom. However was surprised to see Flicker blocking his way.

"Uhh, good morning." Scorpio said, cocking his head.

"You not going to school, we need to talk." Flicker explained.

"But I need to go. The more absences I get the angrier my teacher gets. Literally, tomorrow I might get detention for an unexcused absence." Scorpio retorted.

"I already called you will be fine, besides this is more important then school." Flicker said and went into his office, Scorpio followed.

He hadn't been in the office for a long time, but when he entered was surprised, there were pictures on the wall of symbols like his, there were notes cluttered on the floor, tables and chairs. He almost wondered if his guardian had lost his mind, he knew Flicker, and he wasn't a big fan of messes. He just looks at Scorpio, and Scorpio was looking at the large mess.

"Listen, there is something you have to know," Flicker said to get his attention, "Your not like the other ponies. Your different, you are here for a greater purpose. There are other breeds of ponies as you know, one is called Seferic, they are a breed and a group. These ponies had dark skin and often reddish eyes, there hearts are darker then night. Scorpio there after you, there are more like you with these symbols."

Scorpio laughed, this was like something from a science fiction movie and he doubted the fact it was true. Well his guardian scolded him, he rolled on the floor laughing.

"Yeah right!" He chocked. "I am an all powerful being here to save the world. Sounds like some sort of science fiction crap."

"Well it is true!" Flicker snapped, but soon, Scorpio was laughing as he left the room. "Where do you think your going?" Flicker demanded to know.

"To school, your messing with me. I am maybe a little gullible at times, but that was when I was young, I am a teenager now." Scorpio answered.

"Scorpio stop, I swear I am not lying, you can't go to school they will kill you!" Flicker called, but Scorpio ignored and went out the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scorpio got to school just in time not to be late, he sighed a little, he was a little early. He didn't have to get up the hill fast or anything. Scorpio knew, he must have set his alarm wrong. He entered the school putting stuff in his locker and went to class. Class started in ten minutes and the teacher, smiled, almost happy to see something had changed, and Scorpio cocked his head, did Flicker actually call the school saying he would be absent? As the class started Mrs. Clay sipped her coffee and stood at the front of class.

"Today we have a new student, this is Shadow." She said and a darkish pony with reddish eyes entered.

Scorpio's heart thudded against his chest and he felt like everyone could hear it, Flicker wasn't lying. This wasn't some prank, lucky for him, Shadow sat on the other side of the room. Scorpio lifted his hand after three classes had passed.

"I have to leave. My dad is taking me to the dentist, he got the times mixed up and thought it was this morning." Scorpio said, she nodded, being nice for once and Scorpio hurried out the door.

He grabbed the stuff from his locker and ran down the halls, ignoring all orders to stop, he slammed through the doors, he almost swore he almost broke it. His heart was still thudding with fear from the terrible realization that Flicker was right. He ran down the cobblestone streets, ponies looking at him confused and some yelling, he ignored that and burst through the porch door, startling Flicker who was sitting in the kitchen.

"You... were... right." He admitted, panting heavily and sweat coming down his face.

Flicker nodded, and lead Scorpio back into the office, probably to talk again. Scorpio followed him into the office for a further explanation.

"As you know, you don't know much about me when I was younger." Flicker started.

Scorpio replied with a nod, it was true, his guardian hardly told him about when he was younger.

"I had a fiancee once, she was secretly your caretaker. When you were a very young colt, they were coming. No one knew how, but they knew you were there. They were coming, but she already knew, she called me in for a talk. She took me to our secret room and showed me to you, she told me everything, she told me I would be your guardian, she died for you in the end, but I knew you couldn't know when you were young, you would perhaps have nightmares. The Seferic left you for latter, now it has come to this. From the fact that people take your picture, they know your here. I wish I told you earlier to be more careful, but that would make it strange. They are looking harder now. We will have to leave Ponyville." Flicker explained.

"What was her name may I ask?" Scorpio asked, curious.

"Sweet Tunes. Now come, we have to move now." Flicker answered.

As soon as Flicker told him to get ready, Scorpio had rushed to his room to pack a few light things, nothing that would weigh him down. However his stomach ached with how nervous he was, he was just so uncertain. His breathing seemed rushed to him and his heart pounded loudly. Scorpio put his saddle bag on, nice and tight, and felt as though this was dream, but it was all too real. He didn't even notice Flicker was at the door way, he was too focus on what was weighing on his shoulders.

He is still young, no kid deserves this weight on his shoulders. I can't blame him when he thinks it is a joke, but he knows, nothing can be fun now. Flicker thought, his head descending down to look at his hooves.

He finally lifted his head and walked into the room, Scorpio turned his head and saw his guardian.

"Lets get moving." Flicker said, walking out of the room and towards the door.

Scorpio nodded and followed him out into the wilderness, but yet he wondered how they would live, He could see the tall standing trees and he noticed the darkness near, and he knew they were heading to Everfree Forest.

"Flicker, what are we doing?" Scorpio asked.

"We can't go to towns, we have to hide by staying in the forest. Don't worry, I have survival skills, I will teach you, and you must learn fast Scorpio. Also, if you see them, don't hesitate to kill, you will probably have to kill them if you have to. If not, keep your honor and show mercy." Flicker explained and kept going through the dark trees.

"What?! Won't they kill me? Why can't we just get rid of them, they sound like a burden." Scorpio said a little loud.

"True warriors don't have to kill to be strong. Some are innocent." Flicker explained, and kept leading Scorpio deeper into the forest.

Although Scorpio was an outsider, he felt he would still miss this place, he had a few friends, and now it had all shattered before his eyes. Truth was, he nearly wanted to cry, he even felt like just hiding so he could have more time to take it all in. He had a lot of weight on his shoulders now, and almost wondered if he would be crushed in the end of it. The walk through the grim forest was silent, and almost creepy. With the sounds of creatures stirring and it almost seemed that through the shadows, red eyes glowed like in horror cartoons.

His stomach felt worst as they continued to walk for he was still nervous about his destiny. However he knew it was hard to change destiny, it was great and a high honor to be honest. He felt like he had been giving this destiny so he would be famous, but what was fame? For him it was an endless disaster of annoyance and embarrassment. Ponies monitoring your every move, for him that was just, too much. He almost didn't understand how famous ponies do it. Scorpio could see the sun begin to set and the sudden halt of his guardian who turned towards him.

"We will set up camp here, Everfree Forest is much more dangerous at night, anywhere is dangerous at night." Flicker decided, and Scorpio nodded in reply.

Flicker took off his saddle bag and began to take out sleeping bags and whatever else was in the bag. Scorpio felt nervous though, this was how they had to live now. He felt like it was his fault for even being here and ruining Flicker's life probably. Scorpio was honestly not sure if he had done the worst to his guardian.

"Scorpio, break some sticks, we will need to build a small fire." Flicker demanded, assigning him a job.

Scorpio nodded and walked off a little ways, but didn't go out of the sight of camp. He reached up, grabbing what branches he could and breaking them off from the tree and gathering the few on the ground. It was somewhat hard to carry from the variations in size and thickness. However the distance was short and he easily made it back to camp, where Flicker had the sleeping bags out and already set out a little supper..

"Good your back, I will show you how to start a fire. It is one of the important parts in living." Flicker explained.

Grabbing the sticks he set them down with dry grass and bark. Flicker grabbed two smooth black stones and struck them against each other, sparks came and he soon blew on them. Then a yellow and orange blossom formed, it was fire. Scorpio had heard how to make fire, but didn't know how, but it was clear his guardian did. They didn't stay up long, knowing they would need a good sleep if they were to continue on there way.

However Scorpio was having troubles sleeping, there was too much to think about. He knew he had to find the others if Equestria was to be safe, but these Seferic ponies. It was all spinning in his mind, and he couldn't even think straight, it was fear of what would happen and what was going to happen. He wondered what would happen if he failed. It took a long time until the light dissipated and he welcomed the darkness.

However the darkness opened into the light of a dream, but it was so much different it seemed. There was no color, but he was in Ponyville, nothing moved, but there was frightened ponies running from darker shaded one, there eyes drawn differently. There was no peace and harmony as Scorpio looked at each area, seeing the images scattered around the walls. At the other end he heard marching and could soon see Seferic ponies and ran, but they came after him, faster and faster, until he was surrounded, and screamed and when he woke, he saw Flicker, who had been trying to wake him up.

"You okay?" Flicker asked.

"I don't know anymore." Scorpio admitted.

He got up, not telling his guardian his dream and instead began to pack up some of camp.

The thought of his dream still lingered in Scorpio's mind, he was concerned. The dream felt as though it was beyond real, but he knew that he needed something that he could think about. Ever since they left Ponyville, he just had been thinking of his destiny. They had packed up camp early, ate a small breakfast and were now heading North-East towards some mountains. Scorpio didn't know where they were heading, but watched as Flicker looked at the map he had packed.

He soon got curious on where they were going and why? Why did they have to leave, the Seferic had no idea of where there home was? Scorpio honestly missed his home, his bed, and most of all a roof over his head. He also missed the few friends he had and wished that they were here. He could also still feel his heart beating loudly, he was still nervous of what would happen and kept up with Flicker. Soon he couldn't hold it anymore.

"Flicker, where are we going?" Scorpio asked, standing at Flicker's side now.

"We are going to the mountains by Hollow Shades. It is a small village, no one will recognize anyone for sure and there might not be any Seferic, even if I highly doubt it." Flicker explained.

Scorpio nodded and kept following. He knew that along the way, it was probable that Flicker would teach him a few skills of survival or maybe not. Maybe he was waiting until they arrived to Hollow Shades. Scorpio didn't know much about Hollow Shades, but had heard of it, and it was quite far to walk. Scorpio looked at the trees as they walked very deep into Everfree Forest, avoiding the paths so there was a better chance they wouldn't be found.

Scorpio didn't say another word, he was just looking down at his hooves. He hated leaving Ponyville, he had grown attached to the small town. He had been there for all of his life, it was all he knew. It made him nervous, like most ponies, it was hard to leave all you knew, to be forced to leave, it was just hard. Scorpio was so distracted that he began to trip over the long brown roots and was having trouble keeping up to Flicker, who had to stop multiple times to let Scorpio catch up.

"Scorpio, pay attention, I don't want us to have to spend another night in this forest. You and I both knew that this forest is a very dangerous place to be. I can't afford to have you get hurt and maybe even worst killed. So come on now, you have to keep up." Flicker growled, clearly not wanting to dilly-dally anymore then they had to.

Scorpio cringed, feeling bad for making this trip longer then it was supposed to be. He just nodded and lifted his head, keeping up to Flicker the best he could. They walked for a long time with no stopping, other then the occasional bathroom break and a brief lunch. Scorpio felt sore and tired, all day they had walked and he wasn't adjusted to doing that. He looked at Flicker to see that he was completely fine with the days long walk. It was dusk when they had finally gotten out of Everfree Forest.

Scorpio was exhausted, but knew that the day wasn't done yet, they still had to set up a camp for the night, and the thought of it made Scorpio groan. Flicker began to take off his saddle bag and looked at Scorpio.

"Scorpio, please go get some sticks for the fire." Flicker said, assigning a job to Scorpio.

Scorpio nodded and walked back towards the forest to grab some sticks. It was maybe an easy task, but he felt tired and sore. He felt as though his eyes would close at any time, and he felt as though he was a heavy object. His legs protested as he moved and he staggered when he moved. He picked up a few sticks, only five, but enough to create a fire. When he returned, Flicker noticed immediately and walked over.

"Place them in the pit and try to start the fire. I hope you remember." Flicker said.

Scorpio nodded, he did know how and this was the only thing that could actually make him feel a little better was showing Flicker he had learned something. Scorpio worked quick, getting some dead grass and placing the sticks among the dead grass. He grabbed the two black stones that Flicker had put beside the pit for him to use. He struck them together and sparks flew from the stones onto the grass. He then blew lightly on the sparks and they began to devour some of the sticks and dead grass. The once small sparks had transformed into a yellow, orange and red flame.

Flicker smiled, because he knew that Scorpio had learned something. He patted him on the head, as though to say good job. It made Scorpio smile to know he had done a good job. Soon he looked around and say the mountains, they weren't far at all, he knew that if he wasn't sore, he would be able to be there and back in about twenty minutes. However he knew that was for tomorrow and sat in front of the fire, Flicker across from him.

"Flicker, do you know what the others are like?" Scorpio asked, curious.

Flicker looked up and thought for a moment. "I can guess, your animal is the scorpion, as you clearly know. So your more defensive. I would only know one to be honest. Leo, he or she would probably be a more opposite to you, because lions are large creatures, I would say that he or she would be offense. Even if you two would probably be opposites, you would be a good team, but of course I haven't trained you in fighting or defense yet, so who knows."

Scorpio nodded. He didn't even knew all the zodiacs.

"Flicker, what are all the zodiacs anyways?" He asked.

"Well there is Libra, Pisces, Leo, Gemini, and of course you, I don't know them all myself." Flicker answered.

Scorpio nodded and simple looked down. He was still not feeling his greatest, mostly because he couldn't help, but to think what may happen.

"Scorpio, there is more you need to know." Scorpio's head lifted when Flicker began to speak. "If you are ever in trouble, and I can save even at the cost of my life, you can't try not to allow it."

"What! No, Flicker! I am not letting that happen!" Scorpio shouted.

"Scorpio your more important then I am." Flicker growled.

"Well... I can take care of myself! If I leave you here, you won't be able to die for me." Scorpio retorted and turned away, running at full speed.

In the distance he could hear Flicker calling him, but he ignored it and kept moving, faster and faster through the trees. Even if Flicker flew, he wouldn't be able to spot him easily. Although his sores seemed to burn into his muscles, he didn't slow.

I can't let him die for me. He is like a father to me, I don't want to see him suffer. I would rather die then see that. Scorpio thought, tears running down his cheeks.

They were hot, and almost made it so he couldn't see at all. He soon slowed in a part of Everfree Forest that was closer to the mountain. That was where he stayed, he sat down, and all he could do was look at the ground. He was trying to let it all sink in, but the pressure was to much, so instead he just laid down, and looked into the darkness until he fell asleep.

He woke up to chirping birds, it was like a fantasy. As though Scorpio had awakened in a mystical forest, but he knew, this was no fantasy. All the past days events were all too real to be pushed to the side. He was alone now, he had run to the point that Flicker couldn't find him. Scorpio's muscles ached from sleeping on the cold hard ground, he raised slowly to his hooves. He had run because he didn't like the thought of somepony risking their life for his prosper. What added to him wanting to run, was the fact that Flicker was like a father to him, he wasn't ready for him to be gone.

He breathed slowly, remembering all the past events, the Seferic pony at school, the running and last night by the fire. However he shoved the thought into the back of his mind, he just needed to get to Hollow Shades, that was where Flicker wouldn't expect him to go there. He took in a big breath of cold air, when it came out, it was a cloud of steam. It was clearly just getting colder. He sighed and with slow steps he began to move closer to the mountain, he was alone now.

Your not risking anything for me, Flicker. I have ruined your life enough, perhaps if I am gone, you can live a better life. I am pretty much a pest that ruins it all. Scorpio thought, feeling his face grow hot, I will miss you, but this has to be done. Good-bye.

He felt the hot red tears trickle down from the corners of his eyes, going down his cheek until it fell on the ground. The thought of knowing Flicker would be fine made him happy though, he paused and smiled briefly, but soon just went back to dropping his head and shuffling on.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Damn it! I have failed her! I should have shut my muzzle, I shouldn't have told him." Flicker grumbled.

He was tired from looking for Scorpio, and was now looking for tracks in the fresh morning sun. He couldn't fail Sweet Tunes, her finale wish being tat Scorpio lived and the world was saved. She had sacrificed herself to make sure that he lived and now Flicker had just lost him. He didn't fly, the ground was the only way Scorpio could get around, for he was an Earth Pony after all. However Flicker couldn't help, but to feel he had failed her, there was just those times he felt he couldn't go on without her.

"I have failed you, Sweet Tunes. Just guide me! I need to find him before it is too late!" Flicker cried looking at the sky, but there was no answer, "I don't know why I bother..."

His head lifted and he saw the ghostly form of what was once Sweet Tunes. She walked, a smile on her face, she stopped under the branches of two trees. Flicker was frozen, stunned watching her.

"Stay strong." Was all Sweet Tunes said, until she turned to walk away.

"Wait, but I-I..." Flicker didn't know what to say.

"Good-bye Flicker." Was the last words she said until she faded into the darkness.

Flicker watched her disappear, and knew that he could find Scorpio if he tried. He moved fast and soon found tracks, he followed, moving as fast as he could.

I will find him, my Sweet.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scorpio was sniffling as he climbed the mountain, he was half way up still weaving, still thinking. He couldn't stop crying it seemed, but he held back the tears. He was just able to keep them from escaping his eyes. Scorpio trudged up, when he got to the top, he felt somewhat proud of himself. He looked at the trees that surrounded him, the wildlife was lovely.

"I did it!" Scorpio said cheerfully, he had never climbed a mountain before.

He walked over to a cliff, peering over it, seeing Ponyville, Canterlot, and many other places. A large grin came to his face, it was beautiful, he had never seen Equestria from so high up. As he walked, he suddenly heard a step, he thought it was Flicker.

"Oh come on! Leave me alone, I don't need your he-hel..." Scorpio gasped as he saw a different figure.

Dark skin, dark eyes, and the way it looked, a grin on its face. Scorpio cringed, it was what he feared, a Seferic pony.

"I can't believe it! Strolling and I found a little Zodiac. Tell me little one, where's your guardian. I guess when you said leave me alone, you were talking about him or her. Oh your so stupid! You going to die now." The Seferic pony crackled.

Scorpio tried to back up, but the cliff was behind him and he was stuck. The Seferic pony smiled and stop in front of him.

"Have a nice fall!" He crackled, laughing loudly.

His hoof hit Scorpio in the chest and sent him flying off the cliff. Scorpio's heart thudded, he was scared.

"Flicker! Somepony! Help!" He squealed.

As he fell something caught him, his eyes were closed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flicker had been tracking Scorpio for a while, he was tired and hadn't yet made it to find the pony he was to protect. He couldn't help, but to worry about Scorpio, for Scorpio was like the son he would never have. Even if he wasn't a Pegasus that he could teach to fly, he was still like a son to him. He felt like he had failed Scorpio, he had failed the world. Flicker wished he hadn't said a word about sacrifice, but as he mopped, he heard something.

He ran through the bush, he knew he recognized the voice and when he looked up, that was when he saw it. He could barely see the Seferic pony, but knew it was there and then there was Scorpio, plunging to his possible death. As though reflexes, Flicker shot up into the air as fast as he could, hoping he would catch him in time.

When Scorpio's eyes open he saw the face of Flicker, who had picked him up. Scorpio was still breathing heavily, but was now less frighten. However as they flew, he could see the Seferic pony and wings unfolded as it began to fly down the cliff towards them.

"Look out!" He screeched, but it was too late.

The Seferic pony grabbed onto Flicker's back and made it impossible to fly. As they once again began to plunge, Flicker looked at Scorpio and knew what he had to do.

"I am sorry Scorpio." He said, and he threw Scorpio towards the ground, in a way he might survive.

The Seferic pony was about to jump off, but Flicker twisted around and grabbed one hoof and a wing. They both plunged and hit the ground, a cloud of dust formed. Scorpio was hardly hurt, but he was just able to get up and see the cloud of dust.

"Flicker! No!" He screamed, and tears once again formed.

He ran over, blood covered the ground. The Seferic pony had been crushed, and Flicker was on his side, he wasn't moving. Scorpio ran to the side of his guardian, and flipped Flicker onto his back. Flicker's chest was hardly moving and he spat blood up.

"Flicker... Why?" Scorpio could feel tears form.

"I... am... a guardian. I... meant.. to. At... least I... will... see... my Sweet." A single tear fell from Flicker's eyes, and soon all life faded, and he was gone.

Scorpio just watched, and knew he had to go on, but was too stunned. He didn't even hear the steps behind him, until a pony spoke.

"Tough apples I see." Said the mysterious pony.

Scorpio turned to face him, "Who are you?"

"Leo."
