An 18 year old has an accident after a terrible life how will he cope with all his trouble?
A lonley 18 y/o just lost everything... Can a happy grey derpy turn his life around. Or is he just using a mental vision of her to cope with his trouble?
My 18th birthday was just a few weeks ago. That may be the last time i'll ever be happy...
Today started off like any other day, wake up, lay in bed thinking about whats to come, deal with family. Everyday the same thing. See, I am a really shy guy so I have no friends. I am currently living by myself. My dad died last week do to his back failing, after that he just gave up his life. I try not to think about it and think he kinda deserved it.
Growing up wasn't easy at all family fight's, sadness, I didn't mind that we were poor... as long as we got through the day nothing else mattered.Now that I am alone I have nothing better to do. I have the internet, but that gets boring quick. No cable and a banned xbox 360. Oh I also have My little pony. That show helps me through everyday of my life. I love it, the happy colors, the happy ponies, everything is so happy, and yet... there's always one pony that catches my eye in the background. She is derpy my favorite character ever she is always smiling no matter what. Always so happy, and yet... so grey.
I had gotten a derpy beanie for my 18th birthday... The last thing my brother got me before him,mom,and the newborn got stuck on train tracks.... Do to the newborn there was a baby crib in my room, and every-time I'd wake up I would look at the crib. Why maybe it brought me some happiness. Maybe it helped me remember the good times. I don't really know.
I woke up this morning to a phone call. My boss I guess something terrible had happened so I rushed down there. (I work at a construction site) when I got there the crane operator had dosed off and the girders were getting tossed around. I ran up to see if I could help in any way. That's when I heard a loud CLANK!
I woke up today instead of looking at the crib I looked outside.
Hmm, I thought to myself.
Looks like a grey day. With that I had closed my window. Still half asleep I knew today would be a sad day. Gloomy days like this always made me sad. So I slept for another 2 hours.
I woke up to a big crash I looked at the crib... the side of it was broken. I hopped out of bed and looked all around to see what would cause this. Out in the living room I heard... running... no, galloping? I rushed into the living room to see what was causing it. Nothing in plain view. I grab my little brothers baseball bat to protect my life in case it was a burglar.I walked through the house cautiously...
Then I saw it at first I thought I was hallucinating.but I wasn't Derpy my favorite pony was laying on the floor in the living room. I was speechless it looked like she hurt her hoof. I examined it thoroughly and discovered she had broken it in two. Without hesitation. I picked her up, rushed to my room and lied her on my bed. She gasped in sudden pain with a tear in my eye I wrapped a cast around her Told her everything will be OK. To my surprised she looked up and gave me a faint cheerful smile... She went to sleep.
I stayed up next to her side for about 10 hours now she is still sleeping the pain must be unbearable I couldn't take her to a vet I wish I could, but not when I know how life is she wouldn't be able to handle it. Not when she is so cheery. Here it's all pain and misery... I must've dosed off,because when I came to derpy wasn't laying on the bed anymore...
So I went looking for her she was in the kitchen hopping on her broken leg. Looking for food to regain her strength I picked out some grapes and nuts. Flipped on some t.v, and we watched it. I don't have cable so I started going through my d.v.d collection. "What do you want to watch" I said, I don't know why i said that I looked at her and she just looked confused, but still had that silly grin. I put on movie we kicked back, and watched some. I let her lay in my most comfortable chair, and I lied down on the hard couch. For once in my life I was finally happy.
Day by day month by month year by year we grew together. Derpy still couldn't talk days were still grey I had completely forgotten about my job, but I could care less do to Derpy always being here with me 20 long years of us me and Derpy happily living. She knew how to write very short letters, and would put them in my mailbox. She would say "I've been so happy since I met you protect me forever please <3 derpy" her e's would always be backwards that made me chuckle. So I went to my mailbox today usually Derpy only puts one letter in the mailbox a day, but today there were 2.
Dumbfounded I opened Derpy's letter first. It said, "You were there for me when I hurt my hoof i'll never forget that day I love you... dad <3 Derpy" I was in tears at that letter I was so happy I hadn't just raised a friend...
but a daughter.
I opened the next letters that wasn't signed it simply said,
"your time is up"
Right at the moment I finished reading that letter I heard a loud buzzing noise.I woke up... not in my bed tho. When I came to m senses, I saw whiteness all around me. I realized I was in the hospital. When I asked why I was here the nurse simply said,"One day you were called in for work you got hit on the head by a girder, and have been in a coma for 20 years".
I couldn't believe it.I rushed home asap to find Derpy, but she was nowhere to be found.... Nowhere I had lost it then I was crying my heart out.
2 years passed. It's my birthday again. Nothing new nothing exciting just thinking about my parents and Derpy how happy those 20 years was laughing opening xmas presents having a pal.... a daughter for the first time.For some reason I thought about the mailbox I looked inside, and there were 2 notes there. I quickly opened one that wasn't signed it said,
"Dear human it has come to my attention that you have found a pony by the name of Derpy I sent her to you 20 years ago as a test. My name is Twilight Sparkle. I see there are some humans with heart I want you to write me back,because I have a proposal for you."
I quickly opened the second letter.
It said "Daddy I miss you, I was nothing in this land,but a background pony with no friends,because I would always wreck or ruin something I had to hide my sadness with a smile, but you have taught me that I am something special, and you are to. I love you daddy <3 Derpy."
I quickly wrote twilight back,and within seconds I received a letter it said "Dear human thank you for replying. I want to bring you to ponyville as a pony to see how humans can deal with that type of situation.
I wrote back (excitedly) yes yes please take me away from this terrible place.
With that I found myself floating away from my body. As I examined it I saw a gun lying next to me.As I was consumed by grey and darkness. I realized I had made it all up in my head as a crutch to deal with my life... I woke up the next day. It wasn't grey or gloomy,but bright sun shiney happy I heard laughing from outside. Before I could open my eyes I heard the words.... Daddy? (The end)
It has been a little over a year now, and I just cant tell you how happy I am too have met derpy.
I woke up this morning hopping out of bed, almost falling on a sock I left on the floor. I rushed downstairs to see what derpy was up to. When I saw her laying in her favorite spot on the couch I sat next to her.
"Ya know derpy", I said, "I think it's about time I taught you how to write a letter". I walked over to the table grabbing a pen and paper, and sat back next to her "Now what closely", I said.
I began writing when I glanced at derpy she was trying so hard to focus. I smiled at her hoping she would understand what the note said. It read the following, "Hello derpy how are you?"
She looked at me with such confusion I fell off the couch laughing.
Not at her, but it a fun way.
When I looked at derpy I could tell she was embarrassed... I got up off the floor, and gave her a hug.... She smiled.
The next day was the same grey outside,but bright and happy on the inside so once again I skipped work to have fun, and teach derpy how to write and read.
I have a huge backyard with a tree clubhouse I had when I was younger. So I went in check if she was inside. derpy! I called out. I heard some rustling inside so of course I knew she was in there. I went inside the house and grabbed a pen and paper.
On it I wrote " just wanted to say hi derpy"
I try to keep my letters small for her. I slipped it into the tree house mailbox and went back inside.
Later that day derpy came in. I could tell she was hungry, because she was looking around in the kitchen. So I made us the usual salad, and a slice of pizza for me. After we ate and watched our favorite tv program... I flipped off the t.v
I woke up the next day, Derpy had already awaken I walked downstairs and something caught my eye... The mailbox lid was open. I walked up to it trying to think what was inside... I had not gotten mail in a very long time.
As I reached inside I felt a piece of paper... pulling it out I read this
"Hello"
the e was backwards, and when I looked at derpy she had a big smile...
