Gathered in Luna’s office, Twilight related her ‘adventures’. Sunset then explained what had happened, and what was currently going on. She told Twilight she couldn’t recall anything about the events that lead to her injuries. She was sure, however, that Rainbow couldn’t have been one of the ones responsible.
“It had to have been a setup. Even as angry as she was, there is no way Rainbow would ever have done that,” Sunset added.
“I would certainly hope not!” stated Twilight. “Still though, we need to talk to the girls. Any idea where they could be?”
“They usually meet in the band room,” stated Flash. “Or SugarCube Corner. They have a booth at the bakery where they hang.”
Luna looked at Flash askance. “Mr. Sentry, I do hope you have not been stalking your fellow students?”
“Wha? Huh?” responded Flash. “What? No! I... no. I just know where they go because I ask them about…” Flash blushed profusely. “Uh… nevermind.”
“No please, Mr. Sentry. Please elucidate us,” requested Luna.
“Uhh. ugh. Okay. Yeah. I ask the girls a lot if they have heard from someone,” answered Flash.
“Someone?” asked Twilight.
“Some.. uhg.. You. I ask them about you, Twilight,” responded Flash, face buried in his hands in embarrassment. “I ask them if they have heard from you, or if you’re coming back to visit.”
Twilight flushed red with embarrassment. “Uh… Mhh… Uhg….”
“Flash, I think you broke our Princess!” snarked Sunset, grinning ear to ear.
“Mhg… ugh… hmmm,” added Twilight.
Flash reached over, and placed a hand on Twilight’s shoulder. “Twilight, are you okay?” he asked.
With a start, Twilight’s eyes went wide. Snapping her head up, she looked to Flash, then shook her head, and smiled. “Hi!” she chirped.
Sunset face palmed. “Reboot!”
Luna cracked a slight grin, catching herself. Celestia let out a muffled snort.
“Okayyy….” said Flash. “That happened.”
“Uh. Yes. Hi. So you might know where they are. Okay,” continued Twilight.
“Yeah… um.. I’ll be right back, let me go check.” With that, Flash jumped up and bolted from the room.
She held out for as long as she could, but a few seconds later Sunset lost it, laughing so hard she nearly fell out of her chair.
Seeing that, Luna and Celestia joined in fits of laughter.
“It’s not that funny!” stated Twilight, still beet red, squirming in her seat.
Taking a deep breath, Sunset replied. “Oh Twilight. Twilight Twilight Twilight… Don’t ever change!”
The whole group exploded in renewed gales of laughter.
Twilight grinned. “Okay, fine. Yeah. It is a little funny. Ha ha ha.”
Twily is so cute!! But Sunset is Better!!
Everything with flash I couldn't keep myself from laughing
Seems Twily overlooked the horror here, or didn't consider this a big deal. Regardless, the news about Sentery deserves a reaction too.
With further reflection, I have to wonder if Twily's imagination can get as bad as what happened to Sunset here. Past instances of her "Twilighting" evoked panicked reactions of things like being sent to magic kindergarten or being banished and locked in the dungeon in the forest. However, when has Twilight ever hypothesized being beaten within an inch of one's life? There is a chance that her brain really can't fathom anything that bad. It might either be because those kinds of cruelty genuinely don't happen in Equestria, or at least it's never happened in front of her directly. To even attempt to imagine such a thing happening to a friend might short circuit her brain.
So . . . what happened here? Did the news of what happened to Sunset, explained by Sunset, go in one ear and out the other because Twilight can't process news this bad? Instead of that, she latches on to embarrassment about Flash's semi, albeit somewhat forced, confession. The whole room laughing about that at Twilight and Flash's expense drills that point in even further.
It is fun to muse how much further this point could drive the story, though. To imagine a full-on shipping fuel here. It might feel like the story spinning out of control but I get a bit of a giddy feeling to imagine human Flash Sentry following Twilight back to her world as she shows him her world while fighting to restrain a blush the whole time. Taking this scenario to its most extreme, Twilight gets pregnant with his child and they get married. Life ensues thereafter, and they live happily ever after.
There's nothing wrong with that. It's not non-consensual. They like each other so their feelings are mutual. It's nice to imagine them catching a break for that.

I generally assume Twilight is Twilight. The worst thing she can ever imagine for anyone is (1) being sent back to magic kindergarten, or some other humiliation, or (2) losing her friends. My thoughts are she's a good kid, but more than a bit sheltered. Even when she has to do something really hard and scary, like face a fully powered up Tirek, her friends / fellow princesses do everything in their power to make sure she is OP beyond belief to face it. She has really good friends, and they've done a fairly good job of pre-hunting her elephants. So she is overwhelmed by the idea of her friend in trouble, but even after hearing about it, falls back on she's here, she's good, she's smiling, it's okay. It's probably good she is a Princess of Equestria, and not a Princess of the EqG realm like Sunset is. Sunset seems to have resilience and maturity, mostly from what she has survived, that Twilight just doesn't have.
That said, it is darned adorable the bashfulness those two seem to have. Just for that I'll keep shipping them, can't wait to see where they end up in the sequel.
hey twilight what about me GRRR -pinkie pie
