New cover art! · 9:28pm
Well I had been hankering to try digital painting for a while, and this new cover piece is definitely a good start. :)
If you haven't noticed, my story has a new piece of art to grace the cover page, which I painted myself. It doesn't quite match the image I have in my mind of this scene, but it will do to service the story. If you want to see it in full size, here's a link to my deviantART page: http://fav.me/d65nyrq
In other news, work proceeds well for the newest chapter. I haven't edited any more chapters besides the first four, because I'm still waiting to get the notes from a beta reader who has promised to be thorough. Hopefully this will help me edit further chapters more easily than before. :)

>>406887 You don't need an account at EQD to submit things. You just follow their submission form and do what you're instructed. You'll have to wait a few days for a pre-reader to read your story, and then they may not approve of it. If they don't though, you'll get a response telling you why they didn't like it. You can then look over the story, fix the problems, and resubmit it at maximum of three times before they permanently reject it.
Exposure is exposure. The more places you have it up on the internet the higher the chances are that someone will discover it. You can't really rely on word of mouth.
I would personally keep the story the same wherever you post it. Having multiple endings for different sites is annoying and feels like you're forcing the reader to go somewhere they may not want to go.
>>406088 Do you need some sort of Equestria Daily account in order to post your fan fiction. I actually don't want to post it until, MAYBE I've completed the entire first book. And lastly before posting it, check spelling and maybe edit it a little. I actually DO advertise it on DA. In fact, I actually posted all the chapters on DA that are on here. But... is that a bad thing since that would mean they wouldn't have to come here to read it, and would defeat the purpose? I also have all the Chapters posted on Fanfiction.net too. Is that bad since they would go there instead of here?
Also, what do you think of there being a seperate DA, FF.net and FiMfiction endings with only the FiMfiction ending being canonical? (Kind of like the Force Unleashed.)
>>384964 Actually, I don't think you have to personally do anything. I just put my story up here because I figured it would be a good place to host it, and people just started reading it and posting comments. You could try mentioning it in your dA journal and any other place you might find to advertise it.
One thing I am doing though to get more traffic is polishing the story so I can submit it to Equestria Daily. I tried once already, and was rejected because the story needed to be improved a lot. I didn't think so at the time, but looking back it was pretty bad before I started reworking it. Now my first chapter actually has a plot hook, and the text has been tightened up and the spelling and grammar errors corrected. Currently I'm waiting to hear back from several beta readers before I try again (you only get three strikes before you're no longer allowed to submit your story). If your story is good enough, you should be able to get attention for it from EQD.
Hi, it's the "TheLordInsanity" AKA on DeviantArt, "TheLordFanboy" and while this might not be the most appropriate question to post here, how do you get people to comment on your account and read your story(ies?)
