Well, September might not be possible... but it's not all bad news!

So I was a bit... optimistic about making September my goal. This year has been a wild ride for me, not just in terms of emotions but in terms of rebuilding my life. I got a good job, which has paid me pretty well, and I even managed to get a new apartment! Things are looking up!

And then I made a slight tactical error... I decided to start a scratchbuild of a YZ-775.

    2021... what?!

Wow, I just looked at my first published chapter for Star-Crossed Ponies... posted the 13th of September, 2012! How long it's been! Almost nine years! What's more, it's a rearrangement of the number 2021, which is this year! And this makes me think about how appropriate it would be if I could get the entire story finished by September. Is it plausible? I think so. There is only so much left in my

    Haitus is officially over!!

    Yes... the day has come.

I wanted to apologize to everyone who thought this fic was dead or forgotten. I feel bad that I made many of you wait *years* for the conclusion to Star Crossed Ponies. Some of you may have even left the fandom, with all the intervening time between the last update and now.

    Still alive

First, let me apologize for the long wait. I am sorry it's taken this long to respond, and I'm also sorry that so many of you have begun to think this won't ever be updated again.

The hiatus is still on... for now... ;)

    Hello, everyone/pony/dragon!

Well... it has been a long, long.... LONG time! The last time I left my little ponies, they were caught up in an all-out battle for survival against the evil Galactic Empire and trying to rescue their friends. It certainly was a tense chapter, huh? Especially with the Death Star now fully operational and smashing warships like flies.

Well, September might not be possible... but it's not all bad news! · 6:02am Sep 9th, 2021

For those of you not familiar with model-making (I invite you to check out Adam Savage's Tested on YouTube for some insight into that, if you're curious), a "scratchbuild" is a modeling term for a model built from basically nothing. In my case, it's made from posterboard, chipboard, cardstock, and other paper products and trash I would otherwise throw away. And in this case, it's a big one... this ship model is 48" long! Not only is it really big, it's also really complex for a papercraft model. The top sections of hull lift off and the interior is viewable. I am making this for my Star Wars RPG group, and I'm certain they'll love it. And it's something I wanted to make for them as a reward for sticking with my campaign for five years (going on six now). However, it's consumed practically all my free time in the last four months!

That's right, this model has taken four months and it's not even done yet! I swear, I didn't think it would take longer than four weeks... I'm not great at estimating these things, clearly.

But that doesn't mean I'm not working on Star Crossed Ponies. I'm just not able to devote as much time as I'd have liked...

However! I'm pleased to say the outline for the last chapters of my story is complete, and I'm ready to begin writing them! I always outline my stories and plan them to the last detail, because I don't want to give you anything less than my best work. And while I do apologize for taking longer than expected, I'm pleased at how the rest of the story has turned out! It's far better than my original plan, with a much more emotionally engaging story idea fueling it. And yes, there will be more lightsaber and starship action too, but bottom line, what I've planned is something I'm confident you'll enjoy. So, hang tight, my friends!

PS: if you were at all curious about what this enormous starship model I'm working on looks like, here's some pictures of it:
