...has blossomed nearly out of control. I had an idea for a simple, one-shot story involving Twilight and a botched spell (cliche, I know, but *shrug*) that has morphed into a multi-chapter adventure story involving more cast members, including the Princesses. But, in order to include the Princesses, I wanted to sort out some of the back-story I would use to bolster the plot. (having something happen for no good reason is fine for a short story, but needs to be fleshed out for a longer

Yeah, I can imagine. It's gonna be May 17-19 next year . . . probably the soccer schedule hasn't been released yet, lol.

I'll have to keep that in mind next spring - working around multiple kid's soccer schedules is always a challenge, though.

This year, it coincided with some big car show, which one of my friends was very much into . . . really, for him it was the best possible weekend: classic cars and ponies.
I dunno if it's going to coincide with anything this year, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood, it's a real chill con. I intend to be there.

Now that you mention, I did notice the MLP convention there a few years ago. I think I missed it by like a week, there was a gem and mineral show at the convention center instead. Which was ok anyway, since my oldest kid is into that stuff.

Yay! I like having ponies on Earth in real settings--in one of my long-runners, people were following along with Silver Glow's adventures on Google Maps.
