So, a simple idea... · 3:50pm Jul 4th, 2012

...has blossomed nearly out of control. I had an idea for a simple, one-shot story involving Twilight and a botched spell (cliche, I know, but *shrug*) that has morphed into a multi-chapter adventure story involving more cast members, including the Princesses. But, in order to include the Princesses, I wanted to sort out some of the back-story I would use to bolster the plot. (having something happen for no good reason is fine for a short story, but needs to be fleshed out for a longer narrative. At least I think so.)

Anyway, what was supposed to be a simple outline to sketch out some historical details has, instead, lent itself to a nearly complete and (I think) somewhat unique take on the history of Equestria, the rise of the Royal Pony Sisters, the fall of Discord, the Nightmare Moon incident, and the progression of pony culture over the past several centuries.

A sense of continuity is important to me, in both the stories I enjoy, and the stories I want to write. I have, now, a huge, steaming pile of fresh continuity in a text file in My Documents.

I'm gonna eat some lunch, run some errands, and come back home and start on the first chapters of my original idea.

Yes, I know that, as an 'unpublished' member of the community, I'm not likely to have anybody actually read this blog post. I'm currently nobody, so far as ya'll can tell. I'm doing this mostly for myself. To motivate me to actually come back to my computer and write something. So, Dear (non-existent) Reader, please hold me to this.

(I feel like I'm talking to myself. Again)

Heh, that happens to me all of the time. It seems like my pre-writing estimate always ends up being the "low ball" estimate!:rainbowlaugh:

That actually sounds like a rather intriguing concept. I wish to read more when you get the chance to write and post it.
