Do me a favor? If you want to "talk" to someone, the only way to be sure that they get the message is by hitting the "Reply" button on the message that you want to comment on. It is the little box in the top-right of each comment. It looks like two little arrows: ">>" If you hit that, it sends a notification to the person who made the original comment, letting them know you are trying to have a conversation with them. I'm glad that I stopped back, or I would not have gotten your message!

Open up your story by clicking its name. You are now looking at the story page. Up at the top we see the story title and the cover art, as well as your description. Beneath that, we see your chapters. Look at your chapter titles. If you look to the left of them, you can see a red dot. If you click that red dot, it will turn green. When you do that, you have "published" the story. That means that you've made it so that people can actually "see" the story chapters. Anyone who knows the URL of the story (its web address) can now find and read the chapters.

Now, look up above the cover art and description. There you will see a dark grey bar with editing tools. Do you see the one that says "Submit" with a little up arrow on a cloud? If you click that, you'll open a dialog box with some rules and another button to press. When you agree, your story will be sent to a site approver. When it gets approved, it will be released on the site as a whole. It will get some time on the front page and be available for searches.
I hope this explained the process and the differences.

How do I submit stories and chapters and how do I know they have been submitted and people can read them.?

Hello there! Welcome to FIMFiction.

If you need any help figuring out how the site works, don't be afraid to ask. I'm always happy to help, and we're all glad that you are here!
