riff 4, part 3: The Legend of Starlight-Book 2: Love at Second Sight continued · 5:51am Jul 17th, 2013
Well, this didn't take too long. Though considering it's only one chapter, that's not necessarily surprising.
Author of the Game Over series, including Game Over MST and its MLP spinoff, and the /good/ Ghost Trick crossover.

It's hard to really care about this story anymore. I've lost track; has Starlight ever come out from any fights in any way besides just being tired? Seriously, we get it, Starlight's a good fighter, let the others freakin' fight for once. Gilda may actually be malevolent instead of just an idiot, books do not work that way, and we only wish there were as many viewpoints as there were point-of-view changes.
And the rug is still pointless.
I'll be honest, this one feels kinda forced to me. I think the humor suffers as a result. However, I wanted to get something in during twow's "Saving Twow" storyline since, well, without getting into spoilers, the scenario almost seems built for my guys. Probably by complete accident, but still uncanny. Regardless, giving an idea of how it seemed from the outside seemed appealing. Also, twow wrote and posted
I love how back in May I dropped a bunch of quotes from Pony Episode 2-1 in the forum thread where you apparently do that and the only quote of mine that's been added to the quote list since then is a header quote from my troper
The useful thing about making the Google Documents version is that it helps me catch errors I would have otherwise missed.
So I've finished my riff of Caveat Lector! But I'm not releasing it just yet. Primary reason? The Google Documents version is proving to be a little more difficult than previous entries. Maybe because the original story was on Google Docs, I dunno, but I had a few troubles copying and pasting since is this probably the longest riff I've had in one session, including the story not remaining highlighted orange after copying. I'm working on copying the story from the document and manually
Before I decided to do pony-focused riffs via a spinoff of my already-going Game Over MST series (although stalled at the time due to roleplay complications; long story), I went through two premise iterations. Both of these were before I had an actual pony story to riff; Sparkz and SC's conversation involving the fics they read being from either Equestria Daily or other riffs is true to life.
My finals are next week, and then it's summer vacation. I've got some things I want to do this summer, the least of which is finish a game I started last summer and visiting a friend in Utah. But you're not here to read about that, so to the point.
And with that, the second pony riff of Game Over MST comes to a close!
Maybe once I've written an actual ponyfic, people will start paying attention to these... That or a co-riff with someone more notable... I need to learn how to get a grip on official characters either way...
