Okay, last BABSCon post, I promise, then I'll get back to writing! But I'd be remiss if I didn't record all the awesome times that were had this past weekend.

So I got in late Thursday night, and didn't know anyone really. Just had a couple beers and a burger at the (overpriced) hotel bar. Next morning, went across the street and had an omlette by myself before heading to opening ceremonies. Opening was actually much better than I expected, and the "skit" was actually kind of amusing.

Status update: I just finished writing Chapter 5 of The Hole in the Sun and sent it to my prereaders/editors. It clocks in at over 16,000 words, but closes out the flashback entered into with Chapter 4. It may be split into two separate chapters due to length, but they'll each be published as soon as editing is finished if that happens. So probably only a couple days apart if my editors focus on the first part to begin with. I'm hoping at least the first part can go up by the end

So yeah, three weeks since the last chapter. Ouch! I really thought I could keep up a faster pace. It's hard at times though. Part of that is because real life has kept me busier than usual. But if I'm completely honest, I just got a bit scared too. This is a crucial point for the story, and I can't deny that self-doubt lead to procrastination. In case anyone reading this isn't clear on it, "The Hole In The Sun" is the sequel to "Three Wishes: The Cutie Mark Crusaders Before They Changed The World." My brain seems to be writing this story backwards. I know the ending. I know the epilogue. I have a good, solid grasp on the big scenes, important points, and general "main plot." So, I had some random little idea for a story about six weeks ago. I started writing it a week later when I had some time, thinking I'd end up at maybe 8,000 words or so.
