276406 No, I appreciate it. And the way it was put to me before was that I wasn't good enough, not that they are overdone, which I understand. Thanks for the advice!

Love, its not the fact that we don't think you are good enough, its the fact that OC alicorns are overrated, and there has to be a pretty darn good backstory for it if you expect the readers here to read the story.
If you want readers, you have to draw them in really well, and for that, I don't suggest using title pictures made by ponies from the pony creator.
Also, just so you know, OCs with dead parents, related to someone from the mane six, and a sob story for a backstory won't get much read either. You should probably develop some of your OCs before putting them in a story.
