Mainly, the character designs of this edition of DR.

Like, what if I had gone the anthro route? Part of me feels it wouldn't have been as successful.

No, my DR crossover doesn't have a TV Tropes page, and I'm pretty sure the forum members would flip their shit if it did, so I'd like to avoid that.

What I want to talk about, is seeing the stats of my fic's readership, seeing some incoming clicks from TV tropes.

But you know, I want'em all to wear clothes. Because only a handful of ponies in the fic wear clothes.

Shady needs to wear a short-sleeved dark dress shirt, with a light-blue waistcoat with a line pattern criss-crossing somehow... (No good with colors or pattern shites.) Also a little hair antenna on the side of his mane. You know how part of it covers his eye? The other half should have that antenna. That makes him more protagonist-y.

So like, Remember when I said I'd work on a chapter consisting of Free Time Events for everypony?

Weeeeeeeeeeellllllllllll, I have yet to finish that one.

Instead, I started working on Chapter 2. The first part anyway.

Turned out longer than I intended, but it's filled with plenty of character development and interaction, so I'm not disappointed or anything. I already sent it off to the proofreader sure, but I may end up making some changes anyway. Cosmetic jazz.

So obviously, the investigation chapters are gonna take a while to write.

Not because they're friggin long as hell, but because I want to put as much detail into the potential clues and/or red herrings as much as possible, to make it all flow together and allow the readers to try and guess the culprit.

Then again, I doubt it's been that long, but holy hell.

Planning out the murders and scattering the puzzle pieces is tougher than I thought. Especially the puzzle pieces part.
