I realize that you've been here for a while, so please allow me to offer you a late welcome! Better late than never!

Welcome welcome welcome! A fine welcome to you!

Welcome welcome welcome to a choice you won't regret!

Welcome welcome welcome to FIMFiction.net!

:pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Thanks for following me, Lyger101!:yay:

I really appreciate it and I hope my stories continue to entertain you in some way. :twilightsmile:

493890 Eheh, I guess I was more asking how you came to your own version of the Shamblers. Just not always very good at getting my point across outside of stories. :twilightsheepish:.

Though I'm certainly not going to turn away free advice. :derpyderp2:

And sorry about the late reply. I'm currently writing out a rough draft for my next story (though not the one we're talking about.)

493872 Again what you want to do is your own thing. It just that others are gonna look at this from a generally accepted view and so you as the writer have to convince them otherwise. In this case you have a sentient Shambler, so have that Shambler achieve sentience rather than just introducing us to them after they've already gotten it. That way we can understand and relate to them. Expand their happy life life prior to their fall, and establish why now they are going embrace their new form because it gives them power to fight their foes. But remember the Shambler is beholden to the Everfree-Liege so their sentience should be below that. Heck, have them meet Shamblers who are sentient but embrace the their new collective mentality as an escape from what their life was prior.

493812 Heh, interesting. S'pose I already explained my opinion though, eh? :derpyderp2:.

I wanted to be able to get a story about a fully sentient Shambler, but the description vaguely implies they aren't. So I wanted to keep as close to it as possible and , while it was never explicitly stated that they couldn't be sentient, I figured 'make it a rare thing'. I admit I was also thinking how this could be used for an RTS. In that vein, it could require one druid to control a single Shambler. But if the sentient Shambler get researched, then you could have them as an upgraded version, controlling a herd of three others thereby effectively tripling their effectiveness (though a raised price would reflect this).

Also, I don't particularly mind rants =3

Well the group has an understanding of what is canon and what is not. PoorYorick post anything new or updated on his DeviantArt account. Anything within the forum is considered fanon and not apart of the EqDiv Universe. So just post what you want or ideas in the correct sections. OC Units, Non-Canon Houses and Factions, or maybe create a thread that is about the Personalities of Individual Units or a thread about how units possibly conduct themselves.

For your idea it is something that I have wonder about the Shamblers for a long time when I first joined the group. My opinion for them is I kind of consider that any sentience they have still exist but the overwhelming desire of the forest and the Forest-Liege has them regress that part of themselves to being of little regard toward thinking of who they were in their prior life. Their not likely to go have a drink but I could see one having a deep conversation with some pony but they would come off as a bit removed emotionally.

Man i really go off on tangents when I write, by celestia... :trollestia:
